Responsibilities
+ m! ^3 W3 k# Q, f Complete comprehensive intake and needs assessment process and develop referral and case plans to support newcomers in fully settling and participating in the community  
7 v  s- _! s+ ]& U Continue to follow-up with newcomers, EMCN staff and other service providers to ensure newcomers’ needs are met     
 Provide holistic counselling to individuals and families, including hands-on support with accessing resources and resolving difficult issues
 Advocate on newcomers’ behalf to programs, institutions and service providers
$ I: M$ y, x/ g  {2 Q5 M Research and maintain current information about programs and resources available in the community
 Develop and maintain ongoing relationships with staff of programs and services in the city and ensure EMCN clients access the most appropriate solutions to meet their needs
 Work as a team with EMCN staff to ensure holistic supports are provided to newcomers.

Qualifications
4 P" ?( i; u' T$ q* e# z Social work degree or diploma
0 k5 j; z% E+ ]& C& K: p- v Current RSW designation preferred   
5 E1 k8 o5 J! Y Demonstrated experience with holistic case management and supportive counselling
 Knowledge of and experience in accessing a wide range of programs, services and supports available in the City  
& O; X2 X3 U8 S9 q+ h Ability to effectively listen, assess needs and guide people in a supportive manner
/ L8 r4 p  h/ `# u$ `2 b Sensitivity to cross-cultural issues
3 V, j5 C& d% q7 p Excellent communication, organizational and interpersonal skills
 Working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite
