Responsibilities
 Complete comprehensive intake and needs assessment process and develop referral and case plans to support newcomers in fully settling and participating in the community  
 Continue to follow-up with newcomers, EMCN staff and other service providers to ensure newcomers’ needs are met     
 Provide holistic counselling to individuals and families, including hands-on support with accessing resources and resolving difficult issues
% u( @: _" i3 e; y0 T4 A Advocate on newcomers’ behalf to programs, institutions and service providers
 Research and maintain current information about programs and resources available in the community
 Develop and maintain ongoing relationships with staff of programs and services in the city and ensure EMCN clients access the most appropriate solutions to meet their needs
 Work as a team with EMCN staff to ensure holistic supports are provided to newcomers.

Qualifications
/ G" ^8 m+ g* J: X; g; J Social work degree or diploma
  K/ z! `% u4 t8 j) D Current RSW designation preferred   
 Demonstrated experience with holistic case management and supportive counselling
 Knowledge of and experience in accessing a wide range of programs, services and supports available in the City  
9 `- X$ P4 h7 ?, o Ability to effectively listen, assess needs and guide people in a supportive manner
1 ?# q6 O9 S) q5 ]# ]  y5 p/ S' x Sensitivity to cross-cultural issues
 Excellent communication, organizational and interpersonal skills
) [( \8 [: J  o9 m Working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite
. |9 F# W4 O- v; q Ability to perform variety of diverse tasks under time pressure.
