Responsibilities
 Complete comprehensive intake and needs assessment process and develop referral and case plans to support newcomers in fully settling and participating in the community  
8 i, F6 {& ^1 N: p* q2 \; g Continue to follow-up with newcomers, EMCN staff and other service providers to ensure newcomers’ needs are met     
5 p! n4 l) ~! y( ]( {  p Provide holistic counselling to individuals and families, including hands-on support with accessing resources and resolving difficult issues
 Advocate on newcomers’ behalf to programs, institutions and service providers
5 t- \8 K' t; z8 G8 q Research and maintain current information about programs and resources available in the community
 Develop and maintain ongoing relationships with staff of programs and services in the city and ensure EMCN clients access the most appropriate solutions to meet their needs
 Work as a team with EMCN staff to ensure holistic supports are provided to newcomers.

Qualifications
3 X! N- O# ?, E/ \. [ Social work degree or diploma
2 C2 T/ x) z9 B  Q Current RSW designation preferred   
) h  |6 i' t3 P3 L. z6 z, m% s Demonstrated experience with holistic case management and supportive counselling
 Knowledge of and experience in accessing a wide range of programs, services and supports available in the City  
 Ability to effectively listen, assess needs and guide people in a supportive manner
0 }- F5 b' R3 @* W+ o0 M9 T Sensitivity to cross-cultural issues
2 n3 s4 ^( |5 G Excellent communication, organizational and interpersonal skills
, Z8 _) o1 i/ N$ M9 p$ C Working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite
: |9 W- f6 _* i, K$ Z Ability to perform variety of diverse tasks under time pressure.
