, ?% w9 C! I# c7 N0 F9 C1 j1 p5 J: Q- x Complete comprehensive intake and needs assessment process and develop referral and case plans to support newcomers in fully settling and participating in the community  
. n1 s# B; a- [! z Continue to follow-up with newcomers, EMCN staff and other service providers to ensure newcomers’ needs are met     
 Provide holistic counselling to individuals and families, including hands-on support with accessing resources and resolving difficult issues
8 R7 e& \; L4 a4 _! c Advocate on newcomers’ behalf to programs, institutions and service providers
 Research and maintain current information about programs and resources available in the community
; G8 |% U& x) ^( S2 S Develop and maintain ongoing relationships with staff of programs and services in the city and ensure EMCN clients access the most appropriate solutions to meet their needs
 Work as a team with EMCN staff to ensure holistic supports are provided to newcomers.

  C& v/ s- H( T- s! vQualifications
 Social work degree or diploma
7 L, H8 c. q' M3 S Current RSW designation preferred   
 Demonstrated experience with holistic case management and supportive counselling
1 x8 ^2 Z% |3 n' @+ M Knowledge of and experience in accessing a wide range of programs, services and supports available in the City  
. m- ^2 Y* `) }" G& E1 g* f Ability to effectively listen, assess needs and guide people in a supportive manner
5 e# N) c" g  w, r5 q Sensitivity to cross-cultural issues
 Excellent communication, organizational and interpersonal skills
/ q# T5 N0 D$ `2 x1 ^+ y Working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite
* q# L% E4 B; I) h2 N8 @& c- s Ability to perform variety of diverse tasks under time pressure.

EMCN is a community agency that provides a wide range of services to immigrants and refugees. Further information is available at www.emcn.ab.ca.  Salary for the position begins at $34 879. A cost-shared benefits plan, including RRSP, is available.
