Delivers, sorts and picks up mail, parcels, courier documents, cylinders, crates, dangerous goods, furniture, tack boards, tables and chairs, surplus equipment, and any related incoming and outgoing items
8 a; t0 m) v0 VObtains signatures, scans traceable items into Palm Pilots upon delivery to departments
+ x1 g f! q' E8 iEnsures Transportation of Dangerous Goods (TDG) regulations are followed on TDG shipments inbound and outbound
# G/ F$ M( X& I- N' B, C, UPrioritizes workload and requests from dispatcher and team lead( N3 |4 \ W' c7 _9 j9 D
Operates University vehicles from small vans to 3-ton trucks, including standard transmissions O5 R1 X; C2 ~* X7 z2 O5 X; T
Performs related duties as required; m5 y+ N% p& e! y
Qualifications
3 X1 E1 U* |0 q+ c# x9 T2 sValid Class 5 drivers license - the successful candidate will be required to provide a Drivers' Abstract and have completed a Defensive Driving course in the previous 2 years.
1 _+ B5 {) ^" F/ AHigh School diploma; previous driving experience required
+ K1 N2 k2 g# a, W. RCurrent certification in Transportation of Dangerous Goods; Workplace Hazardous Material Information System (WHMIS) certification
2 ~+ I# e$ x" N! uTraining related to proper handling procedures of Radioactive and Biohazard materials/ ?# {* Q" h6 D, q' L; C4 l) G
Ability to operate equipment including forklift, power-jack, pallet-jack, Johnson bar
