Duties
# i# M# @5 l6 WReporting to the Administrator of Information Technology Services (ITS), and working collaboratively with the other members of the unit, the Web Application Developer provides application development support to ensure viable and effective solutions to the business needs of units within the Human Resources portfolio.
- c$ l* ]% c! nDevelops web-based applications in support of the business needs of units within the portfolio
' \) S' I, G& Z% ?) ?Designs, maintains, and optimizes relational databases used by web-based applications
4 s, T; K* n' N' b. {Provides ongoing support, training and documentation for applications developed in-house
+ P2 I2 K, G5 i( B; F5 x0 AParticipates in needs assessments, project management, and software evaluations
% y" S- O" A+ F( FProvides creative design for new and existing websites, including graphics and the development of templates to be used with the HR Content Management System (CMS)
4 g; H9 x% w' T1 I& Y7 pMonitors websites and coordinates with the appropriate individuals and groups to ensure that content is accurate, up-to-date and highly organized

Qualifications
# f1 O0 K) x: G$ TThe successful candidate will be required to pursue a consistent program of professional development to maintain technical expertise.
# Z# M* O, m0 I3 r$ C+ \" e. z5 G aTwo year technical diploma in computer science with a focus on web-based design and database development j8 H- A) ]; u: T7 s
Minimum 3 years experience developing dynamic web-based applications using HTML, CSS, JavaScript, ASP.Net, ADO.Net, XML8 u- `: y) a% k- J
Demonstrated experience with database development and optimization using MS Access and SQL Server 2000
8 |* l1 U- r6 O1 M, f0 HExperience administering IIS and working knowledge of Windows Server environment; experience developing with SharePoint Services and SQL Reporting Services an asset9 j: i3 ]; X9 h7 d6 T9 x& w
Proficiency developing web graphics with Adobe Photoshop and Illustrator; proficiency using Macromedia Flash an asset/ r: j T# r% {0 W/ b l
