City council is considering putting 30-kilometre-an-hour zones around some schools, after pressure from parents.

% x: e( W, l! {* k( H$ gAdministration officials have long argued that there is no evidence school speed zones reduce the danger for children.

; `) }$ y5 A0 B: |6 U* g) S"This is simply adding it to our set of solutions," Rick Millican, general manager of transportation, said. "Council is not saying if they approve it, put a school zone everywhere someone wants on.

Patricia Grell, with the Woodcroft area school council, says every school and playground should have lower speed limits.
