Key Responsibilities & Duties:

: ]' S/ ^0 d1 s Facilitate delivery of safe and supportive drop-in programming, while supervising youth.
 Coordinate food and recreational programs on and off-site.
 Provide positive role-modeling and maintaining a healthy atmosphere for the youth.
% J" Q, @$ c6 Q; r- ~0 E' F) H Completing required paperwork.
9 D6 g' y- P5 Q+ ?. O' R7 Z Attending scheduled staff meetings and workshops.
 Following and implementing all program policies and procedures.
 Maintaining confidentiality of client and program personnel information.
 Representing the Teen Centre in a professional manner.
* {) r& ~* c' U9 N' X. B) [ Maintaining professional boundaries between clients and staff.
 Provide additional support to the program as needed under the direction of the Program Manager.
1 Y( p4 q5 k# N Reporting to the Program Manager on a Regular basis.

Qualifications:

, I. a$ O* @3 e1 a Some post-secondary education needed OR a minimum 6 months related experience.
 Strong interpersonal, communications, teamwork, leadership and organizational skills.
 Non-judgemental and empathetic attitude towards high-risk youth.
* H9 p" P3 d# q- V4 y Broad knowledge base on issues affecting high risk youth: addictions, abuse, Aboriginal and other cultures, poverty, sexuality, etc.
6 r" O: p$ R" e, u! X Knowledge of community resources.
0 r6 Y9 H. p+ v Criminal Record Clearance and Child Welfare Information System Clearance.
 Standard First Aid and Suicide Intervention Training.

Position:
This is a part-time position; 15hrs/week; evening and weekend shifts; at an hourly rate of $12.50; starting February 8 2006.
