Key Responsibilities & Duties:

 Facilitate delivery of safe and supportive drop-in programming, while supervising youth.
" _! m2 Z+ z% w6 K Coordinate food and recreational programs on and off-site.
 Provide positive role-modeling and maintaining a healthy atmosphere for the youth.
 Completing required paperwork.
1 M; g7 E" }: Z- _5 z, ?$ C% ^ Attending scheduled staff meetings and workshops.
 Following and implementing all program policies and procedures.
8 K) O6 `) p0 b Maintaining confidentiality of client and program personnel information.
 Representing the Teen Centre in a professional manner.
 Maintaining professional boundaries between clients and staff.
 Provide additional support to the program as needed under the direction of the Program Manager.
# l+ P" R+ d& e( I  M# E: |5 A. C Reporting to the Program Manager on a Regular basis.

Qualifications:
  h$ \2 _! B4 d( P9 u, s3 `& v, s
7 z3 r$ b- m& q! [+ I8 y4 G Some post-secondary education needed OR a minimum 6 months related experience.
 Strong interpersonal, communications, teamwork, leadership and organizational skills.
 Non-judgemental and empathetic attitude towards high-risk youth.
 Broad knowledge base on issues affecting high risk youth: addictions, abuse, Aboriginal and other cultures, poverty, sexuality, etc.
+ U5 M$ g# j/ M3 T( r Knowledge of community resources.
' N3 u$ M- G# T Criminal Record Clearance and Child Welfare Information System Clearance.
7 J2 e7 `8 V& l" `, x) P Standard First Aid and Suicide Intervention Training.

Position:
1 S' V9 r* A2 yThis is a part-time position; 15hrs/week; evening and weekend shifts; at an hourly rate of $12.50; starting February 8 2006.
There is a 3-month probationary period.
