Key Responsibilities & Duties:

 Facilitate delivery of safe and supportive drop-in programming, while supervising youth.
 Coordinate food and recreational programs on and off-site.
 Provide positive role-modeling and maintaining a healthy atmosphere for the youth.
% N$ a# z1 \$ U) ~ Completing required paperwork.
- A5 Y. z- S, l2 l6 J6 X" @ Attending scheduled staff meetings and workshops.
) j  }) ?. l% E2 U5 \8 m Following and implementing all program policies and procedures.
 Maintaining confidentiality of client and program personnel information.
0 Q4 }' g; x  d5 v2 p; ~ Representing the Teen Centre in a professional manner.
' U/ e" `  u" H. @( ^. c$ k/ q Maintaining professional boundaries between clients and staff.
 Provide additional support to the program as needed under the direction of the Program Manager.
 Reporting to the Program Manager on a Regular basis.

Qualifications:
. k$ t2 Z0 b- k! L$ Q
 Some post-secondary education needed OR a minimum 6 months related experience.
 Strong interpersonal, communications, teamwork, leadership and organizational skills.
0 `6 N% Z; e, X Non-judgemental and empathetic attitude towards high-risk youth.
% w9 |# c) h+ i* p* m: l, D( z. U( W Broad knowledge base on issues affecting high risk youth: addictions, abuse, Aboriginal and other cultures, poverty, sexuality, etc.
) _, t5 i& e9 W  D( K/ q Knowledge of community resources.
 Criminal Record Clearance and Child Welfare Information System Clearance.
' j, ?+ Z" u4 v# ]+ \ Standard First Aid and Suicide Intervention Training.

Position:
This is a part-time position; 15hrs/week; evening and weekend shifts; at an hourly rate of $12.50; starting February 8 2006.
# S0 s5 }- r# a3 @8 M) t! C6 K) FThere is a 3-month probationary period.
