New Program-‘ Tweenie Program’ (Ages 8-12)
Northeast Teen Drop-In Centre

Key Responsibilities & Duties:

 Facilitate delivery of safe and supportive drop-in programming, while supervising youth.
9 K0 J( G1 w: z( T0 y$ K Coordinate food and recreational programs on and off-site.
 Provide positive role-modeling and maintaining a healthy atmosphere for the youth.
* S! Z8 Q1 r$ K Completing required paperwork.
0 u4 \  l4 b+ I! z( k1 l5 `0 `" I Attending scheduled staff meetings and workshops.
 Following and implementing all program policies and procedures.
 Maintaining confidentiality of client and program personnel information.
  t5 U' U  K: U( ]" e3 B Representing the Teen Centre in a professional manner.
 Maintaining professional boundaries between clients and staff.
* l% ^; Y# V$ X, y! T+ T Provide additional support to the program as needed under the direction of the Program Manager.
$ C7 k" E3 K' b; E( i/ u, L Reporting to the Program Manager on a Regular basis.

Qualifications:
7 y4 [. k9 s$ @( U8 E# q- H' N
 Some post-secondary education needed OR a minimum 6 months related experience.
0 y3 h% N- ]* y& y Strong interpersonal, communications, teamwork, leadership and organizational skills.
 Non-judgemental and empathetic attitude towards high-risk youth.
 Broad knowledge base on issues affecting high risk youth: latch key, addictions, abuse, Aboriginal and other cultures, poverty, sexuality, etc.
 Knowledge of community resources.
 Criminal Record Clearance and Child Welfare Information System Clearance.
) C$ t+ v/ F- w  @3 r Standard First Aid and Suicide Intervention Training.

% ^1 N: y& X- Z5 E- E. ]Position:
This is a part-time position; 15hrs/week; with a combination of afternoons and one weekend shift per month; at an hourly rate of $12.50;
& m, U2 x+ w2 m5 H4 ^starting January 2006. There is a 3-month probationary period.
