Key Responsibilities & Duties:

. r& a+ o8 V$ j& A' t Facilitate delivery of safe and supportive drop-in programming, while supervising youth.
 Coordinate food and recreational programs on and off-site.
2 b6 |5 h: i" }5 h% |* Z; i3 y Provide positive role-modeling and maintaining a healthy atmosphere for the youth.
; S, T9 @* d0 c3 ]2 ]& T7 y8 j Completing required paperwork.
 Attending scheduled staff meetings and workshops.
4 y$ e! e% T' Z; E8 j2 H# | Following and implementing all program policies and procedures.
4 ~: N9 O$ Z6 ?5 M& j4 F Maintaining confidentiality of client and program personnel information.
 Representing the Teen Centre in a professional manner.
1 ^( X4 \$ U2 b, _; N Maintaining professional boundaries between clients and staff.
3 s$ A  d' ~1 G; Y) ?1 @6 d Provide additional support to the program as needed under the direction of the Program Manager.
 Reporting to the Program Manager on a Regular basis.

Qualifications:

 Some post-secondary education needed OR a minimum 6 months related experience.
 Strong interpersonal, communications, teamwork, leadership and organizational skills.
7 G$ u% T4 o$ I& I4 z Non-judgemental and empathetic attitude towards high-risk youth.
 Broad knowledge base on issues affecting high risk youth: latch key, addictions, abuse, Aboriginal and other cultures, poverty, sexuality, etc.
 Knowledge of community resources.
 Criminal Record Clearance and Child Welfare Information System Clearance.
 Standard First Aid and Suicide Intervention Training.

Position:
/ l8 g) G! q, L4 L* I1 bThis is a part-time position; 15hrs/week; with a combination of afternoons and one weekend shift per month; at an hourly rate of $12.50;
+ G9 N' W5 b# G; U+ q! C9 Fstarting January 2006. There is a 3-month probationary period.
