Key Responsibilities & Duties:

 Facilitate delivery of safe and supportive drop-in programming, while supervising youth.
9 K0 J( G1 w: z( T0 y$ K Coordinate food and recreational programs on and off-site., }; i) t. |3 g- q: J7 @/ c; C
 Provide positive role-modeling and maintaining a healthy atmosphere for the youth.

 Following and implementing all program policies and procedures.4 Q, F- @ [0 v e$ l, V; ]8 ~
 Maintaining confidentiality of client and program personnel information.

 Maintaining professional boundaries between clients and staff.
* l% ^; Y# V$ X, y! T+ T Provide additional support to the program as needed under the direction of the Program Manager.

Qualifications:
7 y4 [. k9 s$ @( U8 E# q- H' N, y5 D% _, c% h1 f& r* R
 Some post-secondary education needed OR a minimum 6 months related experience.
0 y3 h% N- ]* y& y Strong interpersonal, communications, teamwork, leadership and organizational skills.7 ^, i; x& X2 y" j, y
 Non-judgemental and empathetic attitude towards high-risk youth.* ? s. O- f% x& T0 R' w# [& W3 D
 Broad knowledge base on issues affecting high risk youth: latch key, addictions, abuse, Aboriginal and other cultures, poverty, sexuality, etc.& p- t7 G) x) e) t, ]% u
 Knowledge of community resources., }! g8 i4 N4 w
 Criminal Record Clearance and Child Welfare Information System Clearance.
) C$ t+ v/ F- w @3 r Standard First Aid and Suicide Intervention Training. - o2 q5 e- M q
% ^1 N: y& X- Z5 E- E. ]Position:6 i8 Z$ u7 ]0 ^
This is a part-time position; 15hrs/week; with a combination of afternoons and one weekend shift per month; at an hourly rate of $12.50;
& m, U2 x+ w2 m5 H4 ^starting January 2006. There is a 3-month probationary period. |
