 Facilitate delivery of safe and supportive drop-in programming, while supervising youth.
, ?, \7 |3 f. V% j, r! L' b Coordinate food and recreational programs on and off-site.
 Provide positive role-modeling and maintaining a healthy atmosphere for the youth.
  `% G" Z& y. S1 @7 y" D Completing required paperwork.
4 [# q" g0 v+ X% a: b& v; m- b Attending scheduled staff meetings and workshops.
 Following and implementing all program policies and procedures.
6 R; W, Z" \, N6 d Maintaining confidentiality of client and program personnel information.
 Representing the Teen Centre in a professional manner.
 Maintaining professional boundaries between clients and staff.
 Provide additional support to the program as needed under the direction of the Program Manager.
 Reporting to the Program Manager on a Regular basis.

" J4 `% R  z& }Qualifications:

 Some post-secondary education needed OR a minimum 6 months related experience.
 Strong interpersonal, communications, teamwork, leadership and organizational skills.
 Non-judgemental and empathetic attitude towards high-risk youth.
, A" [7 S) u( F. D Broad knowledge base on issues affecting high risk youth: latch key, addictions, abuse, Aboriginal and other cultures, poverty, sexuality, etc.
* L7 ^  C; I; K3 w% T Knowledge of community resources.
- U" @4 s3 b2 _6 @# u$ Q Criminal Record Clearance and Child Welfare Information System Clearance.
  t/ S/ j) x* o5 J/ H+ ?# L  J Standard First Aid and Suicide Intervention Training.

Position:
This is a part-time position; 15hrs/week; with a combination of afternoons and one weekend shift per month; at an hourly rate of $12.50;
) ~3 P; d$ i+ }6 s) ^% rstarting January 2006. There is a 3-month probationary period.
