The YWCA has an opportunity for a Volunteers Services Coordinator. Volunteer Services supports a number of programs and events within the organization. This dynamic position is an excellent opportunity for an experienced Volunteer Coordinator to make a significant contribution to the YWCA.

This is a full-time position working 37.5 hours/week. The Volunteer Services Coordinator reports to the Chief Executive Officer.

• Responsible for the development, orientation, coordination, recruitment, screening, training and integration of volunteers into YWCA programs, services and special events.
! G) p7 J$ `' W$ k" c• Assist in development and implementation of policies and procedures for volunteer services.7 N: C4 f2 v4 w/ b+ q. V& T% F; j
• Maintain the volunteer files and update the database using Raisers Edge) Z) p( P) d. P4 L
• Ensure that appropriate training is provided, on an on-going basis while giving volunteers opportunities to expand their knowledge, expertise and skills.- H5 d. F7 `; f1 k6 F0 N
• Develop and implement a comprehensive volunteer recognition program.# L' h2 p8 m, M, f8 e9 x' `; u& Z
• Measure and report on key volunteer metrics including satisfaction, engagement, turnover and volunteer hours.

• Facilitate placement of practicum students, and grant-funded personnel throughout the agency, in order to provide appropriate career development opportunities" F2 b# Y4 H2 t: ]# y2 x' w7 `
• Collaborate with other agencies to provide suitable placements for Persons with Developmental Disabilities. Orient volunteers and their support workers, schedule work-dates and provide direct supervision when required) {$ N+ d. d3 } n

• Plan and execute the Power of Being a Girl Conference, in consultation with the CEO8 z% l. q5 M3 p S* h. Z
• Book the venue and speakers, register participants, provide on-site logistics and complete the post event wrap up

ADMINISTRATION

• Maintain secure volunteers files in accordance with privacy legislation
: u# s$ q( n o! B- @( \' R6 z0 W• Provide feedback on volunteers’ performance, as appropriate! K# D# I$ f0 ^; y- I7 B/ {* B o# Y
• Ensure Human Resource policies and procedures are adhered to within the department
9 J& G. J1 F2 I# M• Maintain an up-to-date Policy and Procedures manual for the department and develop new policies and procedures as required
$ P1 b! c5 M3 |# A$ |6 ^• Ensure that all forms related to volunteer recruitment and placement are up to date and implemented throughout the agency

• Ensure the program operates within approved budget and be familiar with potential variances
3 Z8 r3 ]$ d( n/ z• Prepare volunteer statistics for grant and funding applications, for this program and other programs within the agency. Provide supporting documentation when required2 l1 d- a+ G5 M3 e/ \
- [ C# A/ r6 S/ RINTERNAL/EXTERNAL RELATIONS
7 q3 E) o% c! e& j• Act as liaison to the Y-Knit group of volunteers1 {$ i% c) V' x7 I7 i4 S
• Act as agency’s liaison to other volunteer organizations (e.g. Volunteer Management Group, Volunteer Alberta)

• Excellent organizational skills and multi-tasking ability) X% R1 G% W) ~- S
• Demonstrated superior volunteer supervision skills
1 D, i* y# W; F* l8 S. h2 v• Collaborative working style and excellent interpersonal skills . `' r- C7 e4 q3 D8 ]
• Ability to work to meet deadlines and to work under pressure i2 S, B U* J' J; T. @* z5 A
• Ability to work in a team-based environment, with cross-functional work teams on projects
