The YWCA has an opportunity for a Volunteers Services Coordinator. Volunteer Services supports a number of programs and events within the organization. This dynamic position is an excellent opportunity for an experienced Volunteer Coordinator to make a significant contribution to the YWCA.

• Responsible for the development, orientation, coordination, recruitment, screening, training and integration of volunteers into YWCA programs, services and special events.
- ?" ^7 f, @7 p0 \• Assist in development and implementation of policies and procedures for volunteer services.5 f0 d' c& `% j7 D" A8 `5 j
• Maintain the volunteer files and update the database using Raisers Edge
* `3 l/ D# i! @$ D7 h r2 A• Ensure that appropriate training is provided, on an on-going basis while giving volunteers opportunities to expand their knowledge, expertise and skills.
$ C, c: g" f8 X4 k; p• Develop and implement a comprehensive volunteer recognition program.
! y# m3 T& K$ F& h) S4 P7 z4 U• Measure and report on key volunteer metrics including satisfaction, engagement, turnover and volunteer hours.
* j( V# {4 K O0 S2 @, g: [• Identify and implement best practices in regards to volunteer development.
& [/ e2 m3 b! h5 |1 Q4 c. h! `• Facilitate placement of practicum students, and grant-funded personnel throughout the agency, in order to provide appropriate career development opportunities* v7 _+ p1 F% G! _+ C
• Collaborate with other agencies to provide suitable placements for Persons with Developmental Disabilities. Orient volunteers and their support workers, schedule work-dates and provide direct supervision when required

SPECIAL EVENT PLANNING
2 f4 b7 E' N2 y• Plan and execute the Power of Being a Girl Conference, in consultation with the CEO3 b" } w+ G3 [; E! n
• Book the venue and speakers, register participants, provide on-site logistics and complete the post event wrap up

ADMINISTRATION
* c! R5 X8 x& k( i7 Q$ y• Develop and maintain job descriptions for each volunteer position( s. W6 r( y! ~
• Maintain secure volunteers files in accordance with privacy legislation" A" X: L9 z t, k" F) J5 \5 P
• Provide feedback on volunteers’ performance, as appropriate
, z# U- h* F2 i• Ensure Human Resource policies and procedures are adhered to within the department
1 r3 e7 R% u! w• Maintain an up-to-date Policy and Procedures manual for the department and develop new policies and procedures as required v. { p7 r2 R, s5 f, D9 }
• Ensure that all forms related to volunteer recruitment and placement are up to date and implemented throughout the agency( @- \( M3 F, Q
• Develop resource and orientation materials for Volunteer Services
( v- C- p1 _0 ~5 l• Maintain monthly and yearly volunteer statistics for reporting purposes

FINANCE
+ I, `' G" A8 \+ J6 }- C• Ensure the program operates within approved budget and be familiar with potential variances/ l+ S" Z6 p7 N$ `
• Prepare volunteer statistics for grant and funding applications, for this program and other programs within the agency. Provide supporting documentation when required

INTERNAL/EXTERNAL RELATIONS
; a) v- y r. R0 J X$ g. b. N, G• Act as liaison to the Y-Knit group of volunteers! d3 e( W: R4 h0 [# P i
• Act as agency’s liaison to other volunteer organizations (e.g. Volunteer Management Group, Volunteer Alberta)
; A! j8 `0 \5 {9 ]6 ~8 p• Follow up with correspondence to outside agency volunteers as appropriate
+ x) ?0 e: h0 ~6 @& B6 p• Attend external functions such as volunteer fairs, trade shows, and special events as required

Qualifications:

r2 t, l% Y. D• Minimum 2 years experience in Volunteer Coordination r, J/ X. Q, J' h- N# D1 B
• Excellent organizational skills and multi-tasking ability
; F8 b3 g, v, C# m* R# ~• Demonstrated superior volunteer supervision skills0 E5 q' C. z& L2 ^
• Collaborative working style and excellent interpersonal skills 1 X& V$ m0 b' W- B) p1 W
• Ability to work to meet deadlines and to work under pressure& ]* W6 o. ?8 C. y
• Ability to work in a team-based environment, with cross-functional work teams on projects
# {2 u! F3 f3 B, K4 D• Sound judgment and ability to maintain confidentiality
