The YWCA has an opportunity for a Volunteers Services Coordinator. Volunteer Services supports a number of programs and events within the organization. This dynamic position is an excellent opportunity for an experienced Volunteer Coordinator to make a significant contribution to the YWCA.

+ G0 h% h1 x' u% t$ A• Responsible for the development, orientation, coordination, recruitment, screening, training and integration of volunteers into YWCA programs, services and special events.* |6 O6 ^' n9 @2 j% o
• Assist in development and implementation of policies and procedures for volunteer services.
0 H$ d4 f. J8 t/ ?. n' Z: b• Maintain the volunteer files and update the database using Raisers Edge
- C7 N: ]0 C2 I: e c• Ensure that appropriate training is provided, on an on-going basis while giving volunteers opportunities to expand their knowledge, expertise and skills.9 b, V! [; l) x# g
• Develop and implement a comprehensive volunteer recognition program.8 V% z" G) Z5 E2 }" T
• Measure and report on key volunteer metrics including satisfaction, engagement, turnover and volunteer hours.. r7 j% M: g7 F$ [, M, r d
• Identify and implement best practices in regards to volunteer development./ v6 ], g& V0 j' G
• Facilitate placement of practicum students, and grant-funded personnel throughout the agency, in order to provide appropriate career development opportunities
y$ V* ^" P. a1 N• Collaborate with other agencies to provide suitable placements for Persons with Developmental Disabilities. Orient volunteers and their support workers, schedule work-dates and provide direct supervision when required5 X+ Y% m) J, O6 E) f4 T: a: l* K) o

• Plan and execute the Power of Being a Girl Conference, in consultation with the CEO, h5 \! v% C8 Q* ?" C$ I
• Book the venue and speakers, register participants, provide on-site logistics and complete the post event wrap up

ADMINISTRATION" e* |3 J9 {2 e& j3 W' C! R
• Develop and maintain job descriptions for each volunteer position
! p R2 m7 l! G- M- L• Maintain secure volunteers files in accordance with privacy legislation
0 ?$ o8 X1 B7 D& q8 [% K• Provide feedback on volunteers’ performance, as appropriate
# Q! x% Y9 K0 j0 A• Ensure Human Resource policies and procedures are adhered to within the department
& T9 B4 U0 D( Z7 ?• Maintain an up-to-date Policy and Procedures manual for the department and develop new policies and procedures as required
7 o, q4 y/ v, g, c* t6 F• Ensure that all forms related to volunteer recruitment and placement are up to date and implemented throughout the agency
1 T5 Y' E; z3 p6 @• Develop resource and orientation materials for Volunteer Services

• Ensure the program operates within approved budget and be familiar with potential variances4 m$ W( R! `7 r3 d' v% S" I
• Prepare volunteer statistics for grant and funding applications, for this program and other programs within the agency. Provide supporting documentation when required4 {; @$ `& e; o: H- ^+ i
0 }( }3 ^5 @# m* [" e- y/ ]& [7 ]; TINTERNAL/EXTERNAL RELATIONS
- y! m9 x2 @: h! j$ b) @" b• Act as liaison to the Y-Knit group of volunteers7 x% X) i3 t0 }6 `9 ^: g/ u0 d
• Act as agency’s liaison to other volunteer organizations (e.g. Volunteer Management Group, Volunteer Alberta)
, o5 B" I' s# ~& b/ b0 i• Follow up with correspondence to outside agency volunteers as appropriate

• Minimum 2 years experience in Volunteer Coordination
# j8 i- g3 _# y& G. l' ~1 _6 w• Excellent organizational skills and multi-tasking ability: J: d5 y7 I ~
• Demonstrated superior volunteer supervision skills @6 C/ O. U0 S( d
• Collaborative working style and excellent interpersonal skills , e" V, S0 q5 N2 S
• Ability to work to meet deadlines and to work under pressure
& R0 q& d( c5 L7 X% G, M• Ability to work in a team-based environment, with cross-functional work teams on projects
3 Q* [6 @1 c7 \5 @( f• Sound judgment and ability to maintain confidentiality
