The YWCA has an opportunity for a Volunteers Services Coordinator. Volunteer Services supports a number of programs and events within the organization. This dynamic position is an excellent opportunity for an experienced Volunteer Coordinator to make a significant contribution to the YWCA.: @4 A0 W; q1 s Q

• Responsible for the development, orientation, coordination, recruitment, screening, training and integration of volunteers into YWCA programs, services and special events. L' |% p5 Z i8 C* U" j
• Assist in development and implementation of policies and procedures for volunteer services.& i( D; Y. L3 D) _
• Maintain the volunteer files and update the database using Raisers Edge
, a* \4 W5 t: R2 I0 `! ^• Ensure that appropriate training is provided, on an on-going basis while giving volunteers opportunities to expand their knowledge, expertise and skills.6 P$ A. E3 g+ I- O) H
• Develop and implement a comprehensive volunteer recognition program.
: l2 F$ W, g5 h7 b# b* f$ n• Measure and report on key volunteer metrics including satisfaction, engagement, turnover and volunteer hours.8 `7 x8 ~8 L% ]' Q; g& O! o6 g
• Identify and implement best practices in regards to volunteer development.% V' i9 ~8 V" h
• Facilitate placement of practicum students, and grant-funded personnel throughout the agency, in order to provide appropriate career development opportunities: {4 T' D: k+ X8 y
• Collaborate with other agencies to provide suitable placements for Persons with Developmental Disabilities. Orient volunteers and their support workers, schedule work-dates and provide direct supervision when required" X6 ]$ b( |1 w8 p i

• Plan and execute the Power of Being a Girl Conference, in consultation with the CEO
2 E' H) j. \: ]7 g) K. N• Book the venue and speakers, register participants, provide on-site logistics and complete the post event wrap up

+ A& c: Q0 C" S1 T• Develop and maintain job descriptions for each volunteer position
2 @0 J4 j0 U: T9 s• Maintain secure volunteers files in accordance with privacy legislation9 p& R" F4 P5 U0 _! A2 w) S; G* O2 c
• Provide feedback on volunteers’ performance, as appropriate
$ W& ?! R; j2 Q+ X2 u• Ensure Human Resource policies and procedures are adhered to within the department
) \4 e. E! G3 C! P( I• Maintain an up-to-date Policy and Procedures manual for the department and develop new policies and procedures as required
7 Q0 j) S2 s4 [ U4 O# L• Ensure that all forms related to volunteer recruitment and placement are up to date and implemented throughout the agency
" M8 Q: s7 q% v0 O1 k" e' [7 n/ N• Develop resource and orientation materials for Volunteer Services
" A4 n' g) C; ^# [( y7 C' E0 } o• Maintain monthly and yearly volunteer statistics for reporting purposes

• Ensure the program operates within approved budget and be familiar with potential variances
* B0 C' D$ a8 Z+ t• Prepare volunteer statistics for grant and funding applications, for this program and other programs within the agency. Provide supporting documentation when required1 E i1 Y# }) X' s# t

INTERNAL/EXTERNAL RELATIONS
. Q: e! f3 h/ \, s% I, q J• Act as liaison to the Y-Knit group of volunteers
3 B0 |6 g1 r! \9 C2 p+ n• Act as agency’s liaison to other volunteer organizations (e.g. Volunteer Management Group, Volunteer Alberta)! \7 Q4 a# z4 P1 @# }2 e9 u
• Follow up with correspondence to outside agency volunteers as appropriate : K5 ~1 D. @5 M- l% ^
• Attend external functions such as volunteer fairs, trade shows, and special events as required

; t9 L2 t R! \+ H# }• Minimum 2 years experience in Volunteer Coordination
3 j' a; `4 j6 ^( O" F• Excellent organizational skills and multi-tasking ability9 S; ~# k4 d8 [! L! W, m6 r
• Demonstrated superior volunteer supervision skills
/ ^ n% |- b& c: ]* C& S# K• Collaborative working style and excellent interpersonal skills J8 V3 M: L7 X
• Ability to work to meet deadlines and to work under pressure
& a$ W) I* P% c9 v- Z, i/ K; ^• Ability to work in a team-based environment, with cross-functional work teams on projects
$ Y U7 X$ u( c• Sound judgment and ability to maintain confidentiality6 m- o/ o3 @$ f- L
• Knowledge of Raisers Edge software would be beneficial
