The YWCA has an opportunity for a Volunteers Services Coordinator. Volunteer Services supports a number of programs and events within the organization. This dynamic position is an excellent opportunity for an experienced Volunteer Coordinator to make a significant contribution to the YWCA.. k, L1 Z2 L& O
8 S2 p, I# i: k5 z% D1 rThis is a full-time position working 37.5 hours/week. The Volunteer Services Coordinator reports to the Chief Executive Officer.

Job Responsibilities:

• Responsible for the development, orientation, coordination, recruitment, screening, training and integration of volunteers into YWCA programs, services and special events.
) q7 p" q: a6 }6 J• Assist in development and implementation of policies and procedures for volunteer services.% p7 `/ |; V: j$ O3 B
• Maintain the volunteer files and update the database using Raisers Edge
h$ {0 F" \( |• Ensure that appropriate training is provided, on an on-going basis while giving volunteers opportunities to expand their knowledge, expertise and skills.' u9 \* t1 v. ~
• Develop and implement a comprehensive volunteer recognition program.* `4 y# f. ?4 l$ M9 f
• Measure and report on key volunteer metrics including satisfaction, engagement, turnover and volunteer hours.
* ^, @* W* K& m9 y9 u• Identify and implement best practices in regards to volunteer development.
4 ^2 R+ v+ p/ ~9 w7 F• Facilitate placement of practicum students, and grant-funded personnel throughout the agency, in order to provide appropriate career development opportunities/ q* C' g' @: U3 \+ g+ m& e
• Collaborate with other agencies to provide suitable placements for Persons with Developmental Disabilities. Orient volunteers and their support workers, schedule work-dates and provide direct supervision when required2 Q2 e+ M( f$ R# P4 _- w

SPECIAL EVENT PLANNING
K3 K" ]3 R; n/ B3 S% h• Plan and execute the Power of Being a Girl Conference, in consultation with the CEO
- f2 U8 b5 U8 O- s! E$ b* \, X0 Q• Book the venue and speakers, register participants, provide on-site logistics and complete the post event wrap up1 M W+ l [ `3 z& K4 K h$ m

8 K8 n( I1 }) D7 l' @+ Q• Develop and maintain job descriptions for each volunteer position3 ? r [* W2 \
• Maintain secure volunteers files in accordance with privacy legislation
_ t5 j9 }. R• Provide feedback on volunteers’ performance, as appropriate3 X& o% y9 N; X1 ?
• Ensure Human Resource policies and procedures are adhered to within the department
. ^) @) t# ?$ T) d• Maintain an up-to-date Policy and Procedures manual for the department and develop new policies and procedures as required ; l( E% g9 j( \% B
• Ensure that all forms related to volunteer recruitment and placement are up to date and implemented throughout the agency

4 t& J/ W- z/ p1 B, l$ Z• Maintain monthly and yearly volunteer statistics for reporting purposes

• Ensure the program operates within approved budget and be familiar with potential variances
& z4 |/ k3 K# S7 e) T+ G% k/ t• Prepare volunteer statistics for grant and funding applications, for this program and other programs within the agency. Provide supporting documentation when required

f, n( m( P- S& `9 MINTERNAL/EXTERNAL RELATIONS
4 X, k) s2 y9 @. e! x• Act as liaison to the Y-Knit group of volunteers u7 c9 H. W3 ^) F' H
• Act as agency’s liaison to other volunteer organizations (e.g. Volunteer Management Group, Volunteer Alberta)
7 {5 h! z4 L. R* C6 b d/ f• Follow up with correspondence to outside agency volunteers as appropriate
u6 O) i# r* o6 W• Attend external functions such as volunteer fairs, trade shows, and special events as required$ s8 H* u$ M3 L, B

• Minimum 2 years experience in Volunteer Coordination

• Ability to work to meet deadlines and to work under pressure5 ^6 Y: i. D' u" F
• Ability to work in a team-based environment, with cross-functional work teams on projects $ Z! A! v/ E% U( J
• Sound judgment and ability to maintain confidentiality
