The YWCA has an opportunity for a Volunteers Services Coordinator. Volunteer Services supports a number of programs and events within the organization. Job Responsibilities:

OPERATIONS
- e9 p6 }9 I. @! c$ J$ U# n• Responsible for the development, orientation, coordination, recruitment, screening, training and integration of volunteers into YWCA programs, services and special events.% ` d2 I$ E3 e* l) p
• Assist in development and implementation of policies and procedures for volunteer services.
/ ~! ^5 U& ]6 K• Maintain the volunteer files and update the database using Raisers Edge
& d# q) L2 ^, d. N6 J5 }• Ensure that appropriate training is provided, on an on-going basis while giving volunteers opportunities to expand their knowledge, expertise and skills.
( e" U' {* w. m& R• Develop and implement a comprehensive volunteer recognition program.( p4 ~ i; V) K! \; Q
• Measure and report on key volunteer metrics including satisfaction, engagement, turnover and volunteer hours.

• Facilitate placement of practicum students, and grant-funded personnel throughout the agency, in order to provide appropriate career development opportunities2 B" Z" S7 v( Z5 ?5 F, G
• Collaborate with other agencies to provide suitable placements for Persons with Developmental Disabilities. Orient volunteers and their support workers, schedule work-dates and provide direct supervision when required

• Plan and execute the Power of Being a Girl Conference, in consultation with the CEO
& T- @; s) R S• Book the venue and speakers, register participants, provide on-site logistics and complete the post event wrap up

ADMINISTRATION
+ y6 d+ w* Z9 X5 P/ Z9 e• Develop and maintain job descriptions for each volunteer position9 m7 m4 ~, j" ~6 n0 Q9 [3 t
• Maintain secure volunteers files in accordance with privacy legislation
3 e& a8 n) k7 B2 G8 K1 ], x• Provide feedback on volunteers’ performance, as appropriate
/ N- \/ v. k$ n8 { {% o; s* s• Ensure Human Resource policies and procedures are adhered to within the department2 b4 T! O" a/ j0 N
• Maintain an up-to-date Policy and Procedures manual for the department and develop new policies and procedures as required 5 P7 E' I! m4 \1 f5 C
• Ensure that all forms related to volunteer recruitment and placement are up to date and implemented throughout the agency g0 R/ N9 M% s# N2 `) I" {
• Develop resource and orientation materials for Volunteer Services* f( _& A8 F$ p9 I
• Maintain monthly and yearly volunteer statistics for reporting purposes
& q; R& Q O" R• Prepare a regular monthly program report0 ~+ X2 f. s9 ~7 z

• Ensure the program operates within approved budget and be familiar with potential variances
- a. g/ _! k" s& X: `: F3 ?% s3 W• Prepare volunteer statistics for grant and funding applications, for this program and other programs within the agency. Provide supporting documentation when required

INTERNAL/EXTERNAL RELATIONS
+ M, b/ E. ?2 t( p, a3 U3 }4 j2 V& L• Act as liaison to the Y-Knit group of volunteers0 P, J# f* x3 Z- a* {6 h
• Act as agency’s liaison to other volunteer organizations (e.g. Volunteer Management Group, Volunteer Alberta)" Q3 m/ I/ P0 W+ O' n
• Follow up with correspondence to outside agency volunteers as appropriate ( [* m9 }3 E/ Y7 b
• Attend external functions such as volunteer fairs, trade shows, and special events as required9 H. V3 r+ O% a/ D( g' N: V8 g

Qualifications:9 ]+ p" d# d7 F4 v

• Minimum 2 years experience in Volunteer Coordination
' L5 P3 c7 f) Z2 i" @! t- b• Excellent organizational skills and multi-tasking ability

• Collaborative working style and excellent interpersonal skills 5 y) F B# h" c; c
• Ability to work to meet deadlines and to work under pressure* m, y }6 N$ A# l4 K7 s
• Ability to work in a team-based environment, with cross-functional work teams on projects ' Q+ p3 w; h' R2 Z; i! m
• Sound judgment and ability to maintain confidentiality+ c0 G* J& |/ _
• Knowledge of Raisers Edge software would be beneficial
