Key Responsibilities & Duties:

) q5 p: C' Z( J) X7 a7 q Facilitate delivery of safe and supportive drop-in programming, while supervising youth.
; |; o& p5 r8 k( H) G/ @& D Coordinate food and recreational programs on and off-site.
* ?( `4 M, ^# Q' p% k Provide positive role-modeling and maintaining a healthy atmosphere for the youth.
9 k0 L/ M5 B; o! k Completing required paperwork.
 Attending scheduled staff meetings and workshops.
 Following and implementing all program policies and procedures.
 Maintaining confidentiality of client and program personnel information.
 Representing the Teen Centre in a professional manner.
 Maintaining professional boundaries between clients and staff.
- o# k5 l4 I5 _7 d# J Provide additional support to the program as needed under the direction of the Program Manager.
 Reporting to the Program Manager on a Regular basis.


Qualifications:
7 G. _9 M" }( u& e  T2 ^. k6 Y& _6 \8 q
 Some post-secondary education needed OR a minimum 6 months related experience.
6 X  a3 ~% K0 C# \5 B+ z2 N. E Strong interpersonal, communications, teamwork, leadership and organizational skills.
5 q# |6 Z; d7 x4 U Non-judgemental and empathetic attitude towards high-risk youth.
$ Z1 l5 j# }1 |  u* q& a$ a Broad knowledge base on issues affecting high risk youth: latch key, addictions, abuse, Aboriginal and other cultures, poverty, sexuality, etc.
 Knowledge of community resources.
 Criminal Record Clearance and Child Welfare Information System Clearance.
9 ~, a0 \1 @) X( G9 w: ^6 l Standard First Aid and Suicide Intervention Training.

This is a part-time position; 15hrs/week; with a combination of afternoons and one weekend shift per month; at an hourly rate of $12.50;
starting January 2006. There is a 3-month probationary period.
