Northeast Teen Drop-In Centre

Key Responsibilities & Duties:

- C% q+ d" E$ ?; { Facilitate delivery of safe and supportive drop-in programming, while supervising youth.
5 v6 I4 C# [9 A Coordinate food and recreational programs on and off-site.
 Provide positive role-modeling and maintaining a healthy atmosphere for the youth.
 Completing required paperwork.
8 m; s8 X# o9 X; d2 }; C Attending scheduled staff meetings and workshops.
 Following and implementing all program policies and procedures.
$ g+ B& u' Z$ B, h/ N0 a Maintaining confidentiality of client and program personnel information.
% c# Z' V+ G- D$ Q* r Representing the Teen Centre in a professional manner.
 Maintaining professional boundaries between clients and staff.
& W/ e+ S% D: B. T" H5 H Provide additional support to the program as needed under the direction of the Program Manager.

 Some post-secondary education needed OR a minimum 6 months related experience.
 Strong interpersonal, communications, teamwork, leadership and organizational skills.
. ?5 d' ]. A  P% B6 `  o  I  n Non-judgemental and empathetic attitude towards high-risk youth.
  f; L: ~; K$ U6 X- W3 g7 ]* q Broad knowledge base on issues affecting high risk youth: latch key, addictions, abuse, Aboriginal and other cultures, poverty, sexuality, etc.
 Knowledge of community resources.
- g; U8 T$ {: N. v* y$ }- F Criminal Record Clearance and Child Welfare Information System Clearance.
! ]" v9 ?; V; j  d1 i! z Standard First Aid and Suicide Intervention Training.

This is a part-time position; 15hrs/week; with a combination of afternoons and one weekend shift per month; at an hourly rate of $12.50;
1 o' e6 s) f4 ~' v: o4 Bstarting January 2006. There is a 3-month probationary period.
