As a member of the Business and Data Architecture team, the Data Architect/Business Intelligence Architect is responsible for the overall design and architecture of the company’s enterprise data, business intelligence systems, reporting solutions and ETL processes.

2 }& i" z/ q/ |/ U/ s5 KDUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Enterprise Data
1 S$ s! r5 M# N( s• Develop and maintain data models, data architecture, data management standards and conventions, data element naming standards and metadata standards.
+ W2 i  @8 M6 C7 u1 `: {0 f• Provide guidance and consultation to individuals and groups to ensure on-going projects are in alignment with the corporate data architecture.
• Designing stable and high performance application solutions with complex requirements and demanding specifications.
Bi /Reporting/ETL
+ c% a9 p& w1 M• Participates in defining the BI roadmap for Alberta Blue Cross.
" ?: h+ O& G+ `0 K• Participates in designing and developing the architecture for all business intelligence solutions.  
9 |- |3 F- `/ D2 N( F5 L• Contributes to the design of business intelligence application solutions including database design, ETL, report design and analytics integration.
9 e" n) x8 B7 ?9 }! Z; v• Leads BI analysis and design activities.
+ n( M. v% w6 W( K7 T0 u' a, k• Defines processes to move BI services into development, test, and production environments
) t; l5 F4 ]3 a) D0 J• Establishes the BI Meta data strategy.
. o* o, h( Q5 o6 T3 G% w• Documentation and presentation of business requirements for a variety of audiences including clients, executives, project managers, end users and technical designers and developers.

; N; y4 I- G! `4 W4 ?/ A! W- bSKILLS AND KNOWLEDGE:
• A Bachelor’s degree or diploma in Computer Science or related technical discipline.
" m. a# @  H2 _7 G; J: A• 10+ years experience in data management and designing/developing and implementing Business Intelligence solutions.
+ t0 y( x* f  a8 p• Expert level understanding of relational database concepts, dimensional database concepts and database architecture and design.
6 g9 [3 U. K/ X: [8 l0 j. L6 V• Knowledge and experience in development of operational data stores, data mart and data warehouse architectures.
• Experience in designing data models to support OLTP and BI solutions with (ODS’s, data marts, and data warehouses).
2 o$ S+ K" X5 E" Q  o; N2 l• Knowledge and experience with industry standard ETL and standard reporting tools.
• Exceptional consultation skills are critical, with the ability to convey technical ideas to both technical and non-technical audiences and contribute within a team environment.
" E0 ^) x. C2 Q; N  z• Exemplary interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills are required.
, ], s6 F; E: U• Exceptional planning, organizational, analytical and problem-solving skills are a must.
" e; @5 q  ~% i+ e% {) N• Extensive or considerable experience with Oracle products such as Oracle RDBMS 11G and lower, Designer, Oracle Warehouse Builder, BI publisher, Oracle Reports.
2 N1 {& M& \6 d8 U3 T• Experience with Oracle Portal and Application Server (J2EE and Oracle 10gAS) is preferred.
