FUNCTION:
As a member of the Business and Data Architecture team, the Data Architect/Business Intelligence Architect is responsible for the overall design and architecture of the company’s enterprise data, business intelligence systems, reporting solutions and ETL processes.

Enterprise Data
3 T/ h. Y- x3 l# f. t% A• Develop and maintain data models, data architecture, data management standards and conventions, data element naming standards and metadata standards.
# M9 N9 |4 T; L3 l* F% k; C% s: \• Provide guidance and consultation to individuals and groups to ensure on-going projects are in alignment with the corporate data architecture.
+ |: `6 I7 z2 C• Designing stable and high performance application solutions with complex requirements and demanding specifications.
Bi /Reporting/ETL
• Participates in defining the BI roadmap for Alberta Blue Cross.
• Participates in designing and developing the architecture for all business intelligence solutions.  
• Contributes to the design of business intelligence application solutions including database design, ETL, report design and analytics integration.
% a1 N+ `* m4 ^; s7 e• Leads BI analysis and design activities.
' o, ~8 @- [/ L9 V• Defines processes to move BI services into development, test, and production environments
) V0 a1 T. f# |4 n• Establishes the BI Meta data strategy.
• Documentation and presentation of business requirements for a variety of audiences including clients, executives, project managers, end users and technical designers and developers.
' N2 Y9 F* X- ~1 \6 }- r• Defines the BI standards and guidelines.

SKILLS AND KNOWLEDGE:
+ T1 `2 P# C, Y* f• A Bachelor’s degree or diploma in Computer Science or related technical discipline.
3 m/ W- M- Q* C0 K! {$ a• 10+ years experience in data management and designing/developing and implementing Business Intelligence solutions.
• Expert level understanding of relational database concepts, dimensional database concepts and database architecture and design.
• Knowledge and experience in development of operational data stores, data mart and data warehouse architectures.
, H4 Q: r, U# q+ U( n3 y• Experience in designing data models to support OLTP and BI solutions with (ODS’s, data marts, and data warehouses).
! O9 ]4 l" d' C. \" f• Knowledge and experience with industry standard ETL and standard reporting tools.
• Exceptional consultation skills are critical, with the ability to convey technical ideas to both technical and non-technical audiences and contribute within a team environment.
• Exemplary interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills are required.
• Exceptional planning, organizational, analytical and problem-solving skills are a must.
• Extensive or considerable experience with Oracle products such as Oracle RDBMS 11G and lower, Designer, Oracle Warehouse Builder, BI publisher, Oracle Reports.
