# X) D* W/ Q* A% j9 O8 p% DAs a member of the Business and Data Architecture team, the Data Architect/Business Intelligence Architect is responsible for the overall design and architecture of the company’s enterprise data, business intelligence systems, reporting solutions and ETL processes.

* N, `' _$ @$ P, K9 x% h& T; `% YDUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Enterprise Data
• Develop and maintain data models, data architecture, data management standards and conventions, data element naming standards and metadata standards.
• Provide guidance and consultation to individuals and groups to ensure on-going projects are in alignment with the corporate data architecture.
• Designing stable and high performance application solutions with complex requirements and demanding specifications.
Bi /Reporting/ETL
2 p9 s3 t% y+ R1 H6 Z0 S; i• Participates in defining the BI roadmap for Alberta Blue Cross.
! P6 [: J3 G! `6 d  _; u• Participates in designing and developing the architecture for all business intelligence solutions.  
• Contributes to the design of business intelligence application solutions including database design, ETL, report design and analytics integration.
• Leads BI analysis and design activities.
• Defines processes to move BI services into development, test, and production environments
• Establishes the BI Meta data strategy.
• Documentation and presentation of business requirements for a variety of audiences including clients, executives, project managers, end users and technical designers and developers.

SKILLS AND KNOWLEDGE:
: b7 C# I4 s& |• A Bachelor’s degree or diploma in Computer Science or related technical discipline.
; J% J, R0 R" |1 C" G( X& B) i• 10+ years experience in data management and designing/developing and implementing Business Intelligence solutions.
6 f: S4 P) o+ _! k+ C• Expert level understanding of relational database concepts, dimensional database concepts and database architecture and design.
8 b3 H& y2 O7 w& d• Knowledge and experience in development of operational data stores, data mart and data warehouse architectures.
+ @+ s% B$ L* h4 T* h• Experience in designing data models to support OLTP and BI solutions with (ODS’s, data marts, and data warehouses).
9 @% a% a) X" @, L. D# y• Knowledge and experience with industry standard ETL and standard reporting tools.
• Exceptional consultation skills are critical, with the ability to convey technical ideas to both technical and non-technical audiences and contribute within a team environment.
0 y' h* s9 g$ n: F! D7 e• Exemplary interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills are required.
# Q* ~8 k+ G+ W( r• Exceptional planning, organizational, analytical and problem-solving skills are a must.
3 Z& f5 ?& @& S7 v" f% u" `' l• Extensive or considerable experience with Oracle products such as Oracle RDBMS 11G and lower, Designer, Oracle Warehouse Builder, BI publisher, Oracle Reports.
1 e# l% j7 H: D" l• Experience with Oracle Portal and Application Server (J2EE and Oracle 10gAS) is preferred.
