. M3 w. o# ^5 C) ^2 V/ xAs a member of the Business and Data Architecture team, the Data Architect/Business Intelligence Architect is responsible for the overall design and architecture of the company’s enterprise data, business intelligence systems, reporting solutions and ETL processes.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Develop and maintain data models, data architecture, data management standards and conventions, data element naming standards and metadata standards.
% H) B  t  N9 ]: D$ U- }• Provide guidance and consultation to individuals and groups to ensure on-going projects are in alignment with the corporate data architecture.
• Designing stable and high performance application solutions with complex requirements and demanding specifications.
Bi /Reporting/ETL
• Participates in defining the BI roadmap for Alberta Blue Cross.
• Participates in designing and developing the architecture for all business intelligence solutions.  
• Contributes to the design of business intelligence application solutions including database design, ETL, report design and analytics integration.
• Leads BI analysis and design activities.
) G, [3 K0 I5 ~# c2 c0 Z- f$ I) i• Defines processes to move BI services into development, test, and production environments
4 u4 L8 v+ K  e9 p4 L" ]0 w• Establishes the BI Meta data strategy.
• Documentation and presentation of business requirements for a variety of audiences including clients, executives, project managers, end users and technical designers and developers.
• Defines the BI standards and guidelines.

SKILLS AND KNOWLEDGE:
1 _; Z* Z1 q0 q$ E" f• A Bachelor’s degree or diploma in Computer Science or related technical discipline.
# Y& Y) `) a$ Q4 F% ~/ G' j% [• 10+ years experience in data management and designing/developing and implementing Business Intelligence solutions.
' F/ `: w8 O* c4 c' E! d• Expert level understanding of relational database concepts, dimensional database concepts and database architecture and design.
1 p/ Z0 Y: i" G, }" j• Knowledge and experience in development of operational data stores, data mart and data warehouse architectures.
* k. [- d4 @& v' R7 k• Experience in designing data models to support OLTP and BI solutions with (ODS’s, data marts, and data warehouses).
) {) J3 u5 \# l& {! T• Knowledge and experience with industry standard ETL and standard reporting tools.
# p" ~( @" m5 K, K! {$ X$ {• Exceptional consultation skills are critical, with the ability to convey technical ideas to both technical and non-technical audiences and contribute within a team environment.
# E4 H: q; B; D8 K  ^• Exemplary interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills are required.
8 G- U5 T, w' f# X' |0 p7 D6 A• Exceptional planning, organizational, analytical and problem-solving skills are a must.
• Extensive or considerable experience with Oracle products such as Oracle RDBMS 11G and lower, Designer, Oracle Warehouse Builder, BI publisher, Oracle Reports.
, \5 N4 O! R% [• Experience with Oracle Portal and Application Server (J2EE and Oracle 10gAS) is preferred.
