Around 2:25 p.m., Edmonton Fire Rescue received two 911 calls to 50th Street and 67th Avenue. One was reporting a fire, the other reporting that someone had been injured at the same location.

Fire rescue's Tim Wilson tells iNews880 there was a flash fire in a lab where the chemical Toluene is housed.3 G; O2 [0 v) h

"The fire took place in a room at this facility that did have some sort of flammable products stored in there," says Wilson, "and somehow, this ignited and caused a fire."/ A d5 |" r) }3 i* @

Wilson says fire rescue responded with trucks from three houses because of the flammable chemicals housed in the building.( G8 D0 V. u4 [+ y$ w6 M7 t
% N: Y( P, w: c5 A5 _"We had eight units on scene, with about 30 firefighters," he says. "The fire was out in just under 45 minutes, and was under control in 15."
