A scary moment for employees at the Maxxam Analytics Tuesday afternoon.

/ u! h7 E2 r! K: Q" G- M; gAround 2:25 p.m., Edmonton Fire Rescue received two 911 calls to 50th Street and 67th Avenue. One was reporting a fire, the other reporting that someone had been injured at the same location.

Fire rescue's Tim Wilson tells iNews880 there was a flash fire in a lab where the chemical Toluene is housed.

# I. }& q( F. q: ~  W" R4 |"The fire took place in a room at this facility that did have some sort of flammable products stored in there," says Wilson, "and somehow, this ignited and caused a fire."

4 R* l/ V  k/ M  x1 z  G/ q0 rWilson says fire rescue responded with trucks from three houses because of the flammable chemicals housed in the building.

"When crews arrived there was a male who sustained some injuries during this event who was transported to U of A Hospital with serious, but non-life threatening injuries."
