A scary moment for employees at the Maxxam Analytics Tuesday afternoon.

$ `0 \9 N0 `( b; v, z# tAround 2:25 p.m., Edmonton Fire Rescue received two 911 calls to 50th Street and 67th Avenue. One was reporting a fire, the other reporting that someone had been injured at the same location.

% k, q8 X! V8 Y) mFire rescue's Tim Wilson tells iNews880 there was a flash fire in a lab where the chemical Toluene is housed.

0 q* s2 {, l2 m3 B6 K! q) c"The fire took place in a room at this facility that did have some sort of flammable products stored in there," says Wilson, "and somehow, this ignited and caused a fire."

; i% k8 |3 n: Q( aWilson says fire rescue responded with trucks from three houses because of the flammable chemicals housed in the building.

$ {2 T: v; y* U  }"We had eight units on scene, with about 30 firefighters," he says. "The fire was out in just under 45 minutes, and was under control in 15."
