Reporting to the Board of Directors, the ED is responsible for development, evolution and * N7 C! f+ D) X% g
execution of the YWCA Strategy + k, u/ l' y3 h5 h) x3 x9 l
( M B, {1 Z6 h' RSpecific responsibilities include:

& O" E G& d( @ `3 u2 K, {& d. @• Providing leadership, general supervision, management and control of the operations of
- _+ X# b7 w. l4 Vthe YWCA on a day-to-day basis in accordance with the plans and policies approved by
5 X: R- S0 E' H: H2 A/ Sthe Board of Directors;
: O) B3 S! X1 B$ ]% _, g1 {6 R) A• Reporting to the board on a timely basis all relevant information regarding operations
' b8 y; \8 G/ ?$ W7 zincluding financial, policy and personnel issues and provides information necessary to
& }# `4 ?; H( @, T+ o: _enable the Board to exercise their responsibilities;
' D' d0 G! t& g8 K- p- w• Contributing to the development and achievement of the 1 -3 year operational plan and
, K& I. q5 b' C. s$ D4 Pobjectives ensuring that the plan is consistent with the strategic directions established by

?# [& Z8 f# v9 ?0 u• Developing and executing the annual operational and capital budget; ) ]) i V; O5 |7 q. { L+ ~ S8 ~
• Nurturing relationships with key stakeholders and community organizations to champion 7 T* s c) y- F5 P% ~9 F
the development, implementation and successful execution of YWCA service offerings; ' p y9 A/ I7 E) F( m. N9 k& Z
• Reviewing existing policies and programs to recommend new or revise to meet the 7 Q) T( R' T7 ?/ y" c$ ?) d
changing needs of the organization and community; - A! `/ z/ ^8 k9 v% M; X7 l/ u
• Identifying, qualifying and initiating opportunities to meet the current and growth revenue # s( H- t8 K2 W
commitments; ! j6 w Y; j9 @3 [) W' u6 ~
• Overseeing contract negotiation with various stakeholders;
# ^& c4 n. i9 K# Z. e0 O: o• Fostering an environment of fair treatment of employees and volunteers through effective
! |9 n) @- T7 n; U1 [selection, development, motivation, retention and appraisal systems; ; t( {4 V$ z7 u, v# L% _9 {' ^
• Encouraging the development of high-performance team members motivated to succeed; + \ w6 J" C# t" M! z( E
• Enhancing the public imagine and working relationship within our community to 4 y+ h5 d t. I& w8 u+ }
effectively and positively represent the association; % j% ?8 v& a2 l$ D: e+ p
9 E+ ?5 ?; G/ {, C' M8 @6 @: l8 F# d• Identifying the YWCA’s principle risks, reviewing those risks with the Board, and ensuring
: o1 A/ Z) u8 A6 N }4 a7 v! s( P/ P5 Zthe implementation of systems to manage these risks; 3 h4 `! S7 l7 [3 E/ r' l& c7 ^6 j, Y8 B
• Establishing, in conjunction with the Board Chair and Board, an annual list of personal . f- \) W; I6 C1 K- J& B# h/ \! A5 R
performance objectives (within the context of the strategic plan) to be achieved by the ED
. v: j. Q4 Y1 a+ f0 r( d$ H3 Lthe forthcoming year;
' _ ?4 E* Z2 U" T6 h' i• Conducting affairs of the YWCA in accordance with the commonly accepted ethical ! K" G w2 g- [$ B
practices, consistent with the YWCA Vision, Mission and Values and the policies of

Required Skills & Abilities

Required Professional Designation / Certification / r8 V; Q1 ]2 L4 q
• Post secondary degree or equivalent experience.

# h3 \4 Q; z( P* h' _• Minimum of 10 years experience managing multi-service non-profit organizations;
4 _2 i& h0 G( k/ A' b" v9 `• Strong knowledge of government contracts and demonstrated negotiation
, c& ^: F& R% }3 h% [. P0 W4 F: ^abilities; ' h5 O9 b+ _( M0 {
• Exceptional interpersonal skills including knowledge of Public Relations,
# \. t9 y1 y' G. z) y3 d# ENetworking and Fundraising; ' F o+ p4 D, G% y
• Strong business acumen and familiarity with risk management, budgeting, forecasting
