The IT Small Systems Specialist will be responsible for providing day to day technical support for SYSCO Edmonton. Responsibilities will include equipment management and support, basic network support and troubleshooting.

& m) ^ l7 T" Z ?8 I. J( A§ Provide high level of customer service to internal customers
0 q; ^9 G! t% y9 [; O§ Provide small systems technical support; troubleshoot problems and either resolve them independently or coordinate third party involvement in resolution
8 c, K ~7 f) \0 F7 K5 R/ z§ Hardware and software installation, configuration and implementation3 v; l- R# q0 a& E
§ Ensure software and hardware standards and other policies are adhered to at all times
+ i5 ]0 w# w) X, T5 t# K& m§ Liaise with Corporate IT Helpdesk
" x" ` e6 M- a2 Z4 U- t, n+ N§ Become familiar with in-house software applications (AS/400, EXE/warehouse management system, SOS, VRFS, Impromptu, Lotus Notes & others) with goal of becoming in-house expert3 L! ]% n" F& c0 Z

§ Special projects as required

, t/ J* M4 R$ y1 w- U- \: J! w: R§ University or College degree in Computer Science and at least 2 years of related work experience

§ Excellent problem solving and troubleshooting skills and the ability to work on multiple issues
0 H1 d; e* t. `8 x4 g§ Proven knowledge of Dell, IBM, Xerox and Lexmark hardware
4 H# K- ?4 ]( k% P5 d c1 k' W& j§ Experience installing, supporting and troubleshooting client desktop software
5 |* D" w$ w/ ^) l! d§ Demonstrated ability to troubleshoot, install and support computer users with Windows 98/NT/2000/XP in a domain environment, Ethernet, TCP/IP, routers, switches, concentrators, Network Management tools (e.g. virus protection, server monitoring) and with Xerox and /or Lexmark printer problems

The IT Manager will provide hands on management of all aspects of the local IT operations for SYSCO Edmonton - managing the information systems on a cost effective basis while ensuring user demands are met. This person will work closely with the SYSCO Canada Corporate IT group (located in Calgary and Toronto).

§ Manage and coach staff in IT group

§ Work with auditors (internal and external) – respond to requests, prepare response to audit reports. q; O# X/ _" v6 e8 b
§ Hardware and software configuration and implementation
& W* V, p6 e# ^# P§ Manage and track all technology assets including ensuring that all software licenses are documented and adhered to6 v/ n5 Z% x# N" k- C L
§ Ensure software and hardware standards and other policies are adhered to at all times
! k2 G3 E' s# T# R4 D- g§ Perform network administration at the domain level; managing user accounts and network access
4 I5 a$ y3 b% h9 V5 g§ Develop and maintain backup and restoration procedures
) f) Q' K- l& A' N$ l§ Develop and track IT budget as well as IT capital spending plan

§ Develop and maintain good working relationships with IT related suppliers and service providers
