Any input on Cutler-Hammer Starter?

0 }* M4 e9 k& z. j/ C* cTwo  cutler –hammer advantage  starters are  doing the same thing:
After start 2-3 times, they will quit working, if you toggle the  start and stop buttons on DCS screen  , you will get another 2-3 running before they quit working again.
, T# b7 u! [7 xIt is a cycle.

1 e- @9 P$ c" ~9 m; e" Y" B9 @We isolate the network control and use the local start and stop only, the problem remains.
4 ^- W- W% R( N3 S+ F0 b5 aSwap one of the defective buckets with a good one, the new bucket works fine.
, P2 |, }1 Z2 A3 R% N2 N6 a! EThe problem should be inside the bucket.

, }. ~6 @$ X4 B" [- P9 X) N$ pWhen the problem happened, we observed that  the contactor has a pulling action but will not seal.
Use a terminating screw divers to push in the contactor, it will not seal either.
Confirm with TECH support this should be a problem with the control circuit board inside the advantage starter, we  bought two new control circuit boards and replaced the old ones, the problem is still the same.

4 K% y& h- W( a; v3 T* T3 iThe next thing we can think of  is the coil, we took the coil out to have a close look.
They  have a fork to pinch inside the two leads to make connection, it is not a good design at all. We soldered  the connection and tried again.
It is getting better  this time, we have 7-8 times of running before it quit working.

, l% p" j6 D% h9 V( bThe coil should be the problem, we ordered two of them. But it will take 5-6 weeks for us to get them.

Don't know cutler –hammer advantage  starters very well, but had been worked on AB switch gears for a little while, which has two different coils, one to pull the vacum bottles up which employs larger current, another one uses less current to hold the connection---if the second coil fails, it won't be able to seal the connection.
  O# w/ V" M' I: P1 e& K0 N6 sSince your cutler -hammer works couple times,  I guess 侠客行 is right, or the sealing connection is just worn out.
