学生不用考本地驾照（权威答案）

书上写的很明白，说学生的话不用考本地驾照就可以在这里开车。但是很多人不相信书上的白纸黑字，硬说不行。众口铄金嘛，我一下子也不确定了。就给albeta tansportation 打了电话。我的问题是：

我朋友是移民，过来5个月了，现在读linc的英语，他有中国驾照，要不要一定得考本地驾照才能开车？

她说：没有必要考alberta的驾照。要是警察把他Pull over，把中国驾照和学生id拿出来即可。

后来她又补充说不知道保险公司因为他没有本地驾照会不会给他的车上保险。 但是只要是全职学生+中国驾照就可以开车。

在driver handbook第17页的下面有如下的条款

Student

A student is not required to obtain an Alberta operator's licence when operating a motor vehicle if the following apply:

The student is authorized to operate a motor vehicle of the same type or class by the laws of the jurisdiction in which the student ordinarily resides.

The student must carry proof showing that they are a full time student in this province.

我对原文的理解是：如果是学生的话，可以使用原居住地驾照，没有必要换成本地驾照。对于咱们，当然是指中国驾照。加拿大学生如果在其他省有驾照的话，应该没有必要换成alberta驾照，不过对于这一点，没有考证过。
