But some people prefer Schweser study note (http://www.schweser.com/cfa/) to prepare for the exam. You may be able to buy these notes much cheaper from china.

3 S1 n1 }, h/ l' o; d/ E# fDon't feel scared at the beginning. The level I and II exams are all Multiple choice questions (one out of 3 choices), should be easier for us.

The notes change very little from year to year. my friend used 2004 notes and passed the 2009 level I. Amazing? :)

And how many years does it take to pass? I heard at least 7 years? Plus you need 4 years' related working experience to become qualified for the final certificate.

I am not feeling scared for any exam. The only thing is that I really lack related background and knowledge and I have to do it from the very beginning.

. X& t7 J+ P- F. o) bThe minimum time to pass the three level exams is of course three years as CFA institute only offer exam almost once a year. But you have to finish the level iii exam within 7 years, otherwise, they delete your record, and you have to restart from level i again. many people simply pass level i or ii, and use that as a stepping stone on their resume. once they get a job offer, they may not pursue the program any more.

No matter what is your background (quantitative background including engineering/math/CS could be an advantage), get an MBA + CFA + good english, you may be a portfolio manager someday. But this needs really really hard work. Best wishes
