Responsibilities
Assists in the planning, organization and implementation of meaningful programs for the residents of the Extended Care Centre in collaboration with the Activation Manager.
Works co-operatively with the Activation Manager, facility volunteers, families and other staff members.
1 `  [6 z3 K) m: uMaintains appropriate resident and department records including assessments, evaluations of planned programs detailing anticipated individual participation.
) [: \3 u' H9 U# O0 k8 U3 FMaintains effective communication and good human relations with residents, families, volunteers and staff of other departments.
Is knowledgeable of the Resident Bill of Rights/Governing Principles and endeavors to promote it.
1 @. T4 k) G6 w, L! l4 O! SParticipates in team conferences to plan, develop and assess individual resident care plans.
Qualifications
Must have a community college recreation certificate or diploma or equivalent, as approved by the Activation Manager. Experience working with seniors, particularly in a long term care setting.
0 L% }* C2 h+ c1 L7 C" O0 V% I2 kMust be able to communicate in written and verbal form and maintain an acceptable standard of behaviour and appearance.
+ x2 Z! ]7 W6 z* U8 }# }Computer skills an asset.
1 f) q# W& z* c- x; Q! BAn energetic, compassionate person who enjoys working with the elderly and who possess excellent problem solving, planning and creative abilities.
! v" U/ x& m7 q  F' yProficiency in a second language is an asset.
