& I2 r% X2 `5 d& L+ S. ^& JAssists in the planning, organization and implementation of meaningful programs for the residents of the Extended Care Centre in collaboration with the Activation Manager.
# X% ?, l6 n" bWorks co-operatively with the Activation Manager, facility volunteers, families and other staff members.
/ [# r4 z. ^' c6 |Maintains appropriate resident and department records including assessments, evaluations of planned programs detailing anticipated individual participation.
2 U" h6 t0 E# U. k# pMaintains effective communication and good human relations with residents, families, volunteers and staff of other departments.
Is knowledgeable of the Resident Bill of Rights/Governing Principles and endeavors to promote it.
& a3 ^3 S( e! f6 ^Participates in team conferences to plan, develop and assess individual resident care plans.
Qualifications
7 Z. `+ Z$ ~, G% x8 `Must have a community college recreation certificate or diploma or equivalent, as approved by the Activation Manager. Experience working with seniors, particularly in a long term care setting.
Must be able to communicate in written and verbal form and maintain an acceptable standard of behaviour and appearance.
9 ^( ~8 ?" h3 Q& Z1 j- WComputer skills an asset.
2 S2 D  V6 B7 Z  vAn energetic, compassionate person who enjoys working with the elderly and who possess excellent problem solving, planning and creative abilities.
9 V0 Z% \( w; ^; _: s4 R  aProficiency in a second language is an asset.
