Assists in the planning, organization and implementation of meaningful programs for the residents of the Extended Care Centre in collaboration with the Activation Manager.
- E5 j7 U8 w$ u6 ~( o( N6 CWorks co-operatively with the Activation Manager, facility volunteers, families and other staff members.
Maintains appropriate resident and department records including assessments, evaluations of planned programs detailing anticipated individual participation.
& P7 T! A, h* _, J1 z$ B6 aMaintains effective communication and good human relations with residents, families, volunteers and staff of other departments.
) T$ r7 d, h4 C4 S2 |" OIs knowledgeable of the Resident Bill of Rights/Governing Principles and endeavors to promote it.
2 ^7 u7 c) x1 {. t5 t, FParticipates in team conferences to plan, develop and assess individual resident care plans.
: ^1 O+ P) f2 ]) [Qualifications
( Z# q* i  v) O3 IMust have a community college recreation certificate or diploma or equivalent, as approved by the Activation Manager. Experience working with seniors, particularly in a long term care setting.
/ |3 E% z1 T' T& _- @8 _+ xMust be able to communicate in written and verbal form and maintain an acceptable standard of behaviour and appearance.
Computer skills an asset.
5 i3 A% L5 P3 {4 D$ F  s0 s- dAn energetic, compassionate person who enjoys working with the elderly and who possess excellent problem solving, planning and creative abilities.
9 J# i0 y: e8 vProficiency in a second language is an asset.
