Responsibilities
Assists in the planning, organization and implementation of meaningful programs for the residents of the Extended Care Centre in collaboration with the Activation Manager.
( S, N; J* e9 Z/ W9 Y0 bWorks co-operatively with the Activation Manager, facility volunteers, families and other staff members.
Maintains appropriate resident and department records including assessments, evaluations of planned programs detailing anticipated individual participation.
2 ]# ~& w+ u1 r* g2 X/ T, JMaintains effective communication and good human relations with residents, families, volunteers and staff of other departments.
Is knowledgeable of the Resident Bill of Rights/Governing Principles and endeavors to promote it.
Participates in team conferences to plan, develop and assess individual resident care plans.
Qualifications
5 s1 b) H/ ^" E2 c; xMust have a community college recreation certificate or diploma or equivalent, as approved by the Activation Manager. Experience working with seniors, particularly in a long term care setting.
) O( C. j' s& y$ b/ ?; z- \" zMust be able to communicate in written and verbal form and maintain an acceptable standard of behaviour and appearance.
Computer skills an asset.
. X! H" z% A2 Z* Y- k7 i4 hAn energetic, compassionate person who enjoys working with the elderly and who possess excellent problem solving, planning and creative abilities.
Proficiency in a second language is an asset.
