Position: Project Coordinator, Smart Choices.

Responsibilities:
0 u" x& v# @, b# b+ ]& j& a/ {- Design and deliver educational and preventative workshops about addictions to kids & youth& M5 P$ }4 U7 h' ~
- Work with a team of actors to develop and deliver of a touring play about problem gambling4 l& {4 P6 |. k9 X4 X* R
- Build and sustain relationships with schools, social service agencies and community groups% x" d# ?1 N$ u
- Identify community needs and best practices in the area of addictions prevention and further develop the program to meet those needs! @# l; J* w: ^$ F/ Q. z( h- P
- Complete regular reporting to Alberta Health Services – Addictions & Mental Health5 S k# N3 o D$ p5 N

( |7 T; p( L# c6 dKey Qualifications:
. V; N) n: ^) s/ q- Post secondary degree or diploma in social/human sciences
/ L1 R! m4 l8 k8 w9 `- C/ m4 t- At least 2 years experience in the fields of addictions & mental health, education, health promotion, public health or youth engagement
7 Z6 U' T# s5 {, F) k; l; e- Strong ability to work well with youth, community workers, teachers and others" @3 P- v# B8 t Z; N: P
- Experience doing program development
& n3 f P- y. `% j5 n( f- Strong organizational and coordination skills9 k" }! g& x% n/ P2 X
- Self-directed and able to take initiative! D3 y0 r3 k3 z) @
- Excellent English verbal and written communication skills; fluency in an Asian language is an asset
9 `# U: @& q8 {( \! p& J9 g' x5 {3 h- Vehicle and valid drivers’ license; l/ ]% }4 A9 t4 ?6 E! P

- Experience conducting community needs assessments and program evaluation6 Z7 E% L+ G) x7 _
- Knowledge of and experience working with immigrant and refugee communities$ S9 g+ u/ z# ^: j G* G
- An understanding of the relationship between addictions and mental health
