To qualify for an Alberta Qualification Certificate based on work experience, a person must:

) N8 P/ z9 s% a: s& T- A/ b1 Whave at least 8,775 hours and 72 months of ‘hands-on’ work experience as an electrician % t& o% e' D: y$ h; O
Time spent on supervisory or foreman duties, counter work, heading the tool crib, or on a training course is NOT counted as ‘hands-on’ work experience.7 L! E6 Z. Z6 W; h* t5 ~; t
; G' E" c$ [9 L. P3 C0 R* scomplete the Qualification Certificate - Work Experience Application and submit it to an Apprenticeship and Industry Training Office- a4 V+ S! n0 h, Y V2 S" g# q* M

pay the non-refundable fees as identified on the application noted above $ U1 ?9 t% Y$ i1 S- y" R9 Q
This application fee covers the verification and assessment of the applicant's work experience hours/months as well as one attempt at the Qualification Certificate theory examination. The Qualification Certificate practical examination requires a separate fee as identified on the application noted above.8 \) r$ R+ a- Z% v( P- O) [
