ASSIST

Position Title: Outreach Worker
Hours of Work: Full time (35 hours per week)

Job Description
1 J2 [  E" F8 @. d-        promote the Centre and ISP to community organizations, businesses, educational institutions, etc. by in-person presentations, phone or sending relevant information
. z5 i8 ~# y# n9 Q-        promote Centre and ISP programs  in various media: newspaper, radio, newsletter, etc.
3 V! U, S. i' u7 j/ n3 [0 T# ^" ?-        develop or update brochures, pamphlets, information packages, etc. for ISP and Centre
-        recruit new members to the Newcomers Club and maintain existing members
-        promote, organize and coordinate the Newcomers Club’s activities
-        outreach in different areas of the city where new immigrants are concentrated
-        attend meetings relevant to ISP and outreach work to advocate issues and concerns of new immigrants
-        adapt to a flexible working schedule to accommodate the program’s goals
-        report writing, data collection, conduct evaluations, budget management, etc.
4 |; t+ s9 w: H* ~-        recruit and coordinate volunteers to assist with outreach activities
-        assist with front counter services as needed and assigned

-        degree/diploma in social work/human services and eligibility to be registered to area of discipline; relevant experience with community services/projects/immigrants will be considered
-        knowledge of immigrant issues and concerns, community resources and services available
-        good computer skills using Microsoft and Chinese software
. f& M- w0 j& H$ y' l4 w-        fluent in English and Chinese

-        valid driver’s license
