influenza virus is contagious and is spread person to person via close( h8 \" u4 Z; t+ w# w# D' Q
contact. The virus also rests on hard surfaces such as counters and
- b; f% u! ~3 r' }6 A! z- adoorknobs and can spread when people touch contaminated surfaces and
/ d% D( d! l2 _7 I/ J6 P! N; Bthen unknowingly transfer the virus to their eyes, nose or mouth.+ r% u- [7 \1 Q3 n
Practicing good preventive hygiene (e.g., wash your hands and cover your* m# T0 l5 J, Z4 E0 F9 P7 ]
cough) and following the self-care practices as outlined by Alberta- M4 G* }* @$ a5 Z Z/ Z
Health and Wellness will greatly assist in minimizing the chance of- w8 C* R) d: W2 h
infection.
