Position Overview  
$ f  T8 @* f, Y: `- z The Field Operator is responsible for monitoring production in field locations surrounding the Balzac Gas Plant facility (10 minutes north of the Calgary city limits; 30 km from the downtown core). This position works a 35 day shift rotation, which includes 12 hour days/nights and 9 hour training days. This role is bound by the terms of the Collective Agreement (Communications, Energy and Paperworkers Local 773).

-  Display competency with operations procedures checklists and critical procedures;
-  Provide day to day control of producing wells, pipelines and associated production equipment;
( V! ]5 P. `$ D-  Make and carry out recommendations to maximize production, minimize operating costs and eliminate downtime;
% b$ a; Q& B) q( P4 R9 J-  Ensure all field related activities are completed safely, on schedule and in an environmentally safe and cost effective manner;
8 g& k) v+ P" K7 X) T7 g-  Comply with all EH&S, Corporate and Regulatory rules and procedures. Report any unacceptable conditions and incidents;
9 S$ b: e( X! r8 s. ~: T1 ~-  Work in a team-oriented atmosphere and contribute to the ongoing success of the Balzac Complex;

Education/Experience  
4 W" ~2 A( S2 P* l# F! U - Grade 12 diploma or equivalent in training and experience;
& _/ b& b& Q# ^-  Minimum of 3 years' related experience operating sour gas wells, pipelines and compressors;
: k8 N2 i+ ?# P% b8 R3 \3 P" G-  Current H2S Alive certification or equivalent;
+ O8 O" S$ j  `7 Z) }4 w% t; _6 U5 i2 c-  Dependable, organized and self motivated;
-  Strong initiative and problem solving skills;
. L  \$ e+ k* n/ J-  A willingness and ability to work in outdoor conditions.
