The European Commission has just announced an agreement whereby English will
be the official language of the European Union rather than German, which was

& J3 i4 u# [/ P0 O/ Z& x. ~7 CAs part of the negotiations, the British Government conceded that English
spelling had some room for improvement and has accepted a 5 year phase-in
, W! S2 S& I9 P: pplan that would become known as "EuroEnglish".

In the first year, "s" will replace the soft "c". Sertainly, this will make
$ Z- ~2 n# p) v9 k- o1 V& vthe sivil servants jump with joy.

: U& Z, E. c, o( e* n( A: r3 ?The hard "c" will be dropped in favour of "k". This should klear up
' |% |: Y7 d7 Z3 kkonfusion, and keyboards kan have one less letter.


6 M. t- N' ]: W( t9 H  \) VThere will be growing publik enthusiasm in the sekond year when the
: }7 C) M4 ?  b! I) B5 Dtroublesome "ph" will be replaced with "f". This will make words like
fotograf 20% shorter.

, H3 ~5 B" Q& E& j. \) JIn the 3rd year, publik akseptanse of the new spelling kan be expekted to

Also, al wil agre that the horibl mes of the silent "e" in the languag is
disgrasful and it should go away.

"z" and "w" with "v".
