The European Commission has just announced an agreement whereby English will

the other possibility.

spelling had some room for improvement and has accepted a 5 year phase-in
( \1 s  R; f: `* ~2 C, Yplan that would become known as "EuroEnglish".

In the first year, "s" will replace the soft "c". Sertainly, this will make
* j- E$ j4 l8 b6 H/ uthe sivil servants jump with joy.

1 W0 j7 q( B6 m4 X& ]0 x, J# g3 rThe hard "c" will be dropped in favour of "k". This should klear up
konfusion, and keyboards kan have one less letter.

There will be growing publik enthusiasm in the sekond year when the
troublesome "ph" will be replaced with "f". This will make words like
7 T- z5 c! o& hfotograf 20% shorter.

In the 3rd year, publik akseptanse of the new spelling kan be expekted to
+ Y, h' Q/ M1 f0 Wreach the stage where more komplikated changes are possible.
