This fall, the Edmonton Region Immigrant Employment Council (ERIEC) will be launching a mentorship pilot program, where we aim to match skilled immigrants with mentors in their occupations.
Eligibility Criteria
6 i% k1 r# K9 X- aAll potential mentee candidates are required to meet the following criteria:
8 l6 e4 [( W) @; H•An internationally educated professional living in Canada for three years or less
•Have a minimum of a Bachelor’s degree or equivalent post secondary education
& b  n) b0 }, R1 [4 t6 A& I•Have Canadian Language Benchmark (CLB) level 7 or higher in oral English
7 }0 W; n. s, U( F% o  P4 ^) f•At least three years work experience in their area of expertise outside of Canada
•No prior Canadian work experience in their field
•Be unemployed or underemployed – working for 20 hours a week or less
5 c( W& Z3 h* [1 n2 l6 b$ g* x•Be eligible to work in Canada
•Have a job ready resume and have completed a job search workshop
•Lack access to professional networks

The maximum number of hours involved in the ERIEC mentorship program is 6 hours a month for a total of 24 hours over 4 months.  This works out to approximately one and a half hours per week.
