Change for Children is looking for a Program and Administrative Assistant who is highly motivated, has excellent ability to work independently, effectively prioritize tasks, be able to manage a flexible work plan and take direction from Program Managers to ensure timely and consistent administrative and program support to our vibrant organization.

CHANGE FOR CHILDREN ASSOCIATION (CFCA) is an Alberta-based, charity with 33 years of experience working for sustainable, community development in Latin America and Africa and providing a comprehensive global education program in Canada. CFCA is lead by a volunteer Board of Directors and a small, flat-structured core staff which includes: International Projects Program Manager, Education/Public Engagement Program Manager and Funds Development Program Manager. CFCA’s projects and programming are funded by private donors, government grants, foundations, fundraising events, and campaigns.

• Act as first point of contact for donors, partners, members, other stakeholders, and the general public.

• Complete data entry in various programs.: ?! B+ z! i0 ?; U) W

3 d) \% F# W6 y• Maintain an organized filing system for office records, meeting minutes, government registrations and donor records; Process annual government and charitable registrations forms.

• Order and organize office supplies; Manage and maintain office systems and environment including policy and procedures manual and office operations manual.

• Meet weekly with Program Managers to define priorities.8 i9 e0 ?" g9 ]: f4 ?

• Manage all CFCA administrative communications such as liaising with financial institutions, service providers etc. related to administrative management.

) s" c: }, q( a/ o• Identify and maintain a current media list and database. File all media articles and press coverage of CFCA.

• Support the promotion of CFCA events in Alberta through online and print publicity resources.% t& G5 W1 b6 U, A! M

• Support the management of requests for CFCA information and resources at public events.

• Compile information packages for fundraising and promotional purposes.: H1 J# q  Q) O8 g+ G- N$ p- I

• Provide administrative support for public engagement events and mail outs.7 n1 n# r' P" |# _

• Weekly out-of-office errands as required (get cheques signed by Board members, drop off grant applications, and pick up office supplies). These errands will require personal transport.

Fund Development

, |+ v; j+ T( O• Provide logistical support for key fundraising events such as silent auctions

# z5 D4 l- T1 v1 m$ q• In conjunction with the Funds Development Program Manager, maintain donor database and ensure delivery of timely charitable receipts.- i( ^' Y/ y4 w5 W7 U* ^- A

• Coordinate volunteers for some fundraising events such as Casino and annual sales events.' B# ^- n; }, j5 k" J6 _

• Support logistical work required for CFCA’s Annual General Meeting9 \! @: v# n& W

& ?2 S7 F( _+ x• Assist in administrative tasks related to donor recognition and event reconciliation as required.

6 g5 r+ M3 a# M# K8 i. J4 @' jSkills and Qualifications: Education or work experience in office administration and experience with non-profit organizations an asset. Excellent communication and administrative skills; excellent oral and written communication skills; strong administrative and computer skills including proficiency in Word, Excel and Outlook or Outlook Express; Willingness to train on other relevant software; Very strong teamwork and time-management skills; commitment to social justice and sustainable community development.
