CHANGE FOR CHILDREN ASSOCIATION (CFCA) is an Alberta-based, charity with 33 years of experience working for sustainable, community development in Latin America and Africa and providing a comprehensive global education program in Canada. CFCA is lead by a volunteer Board of Directors and a small, flat-structured core staff which includes: International Projects Program Manager, Education/Public Engagement Program Manager and Funds Development Program Manager. CFCA’s projects and programming are funded by private donors, government grants, foundations, fundraising events, and campaigns.

. R, y2 w$ J/ v; ]• Act as first point of contact for donors, partners, members, other stakeholders, and the general public.% K/ m& |: e- c6 }. k

• Maintain an organized filing system for office records, meeting minutes, government registrations and donor records; Process annual government and charitable registrations forms.% c4 z& |! e8 o8 ~2 U  H

* m: J; }. k) B6 Q* o  P• Order and organize office supplies; Manage and maintain office systems and environment including policy and procedures manual and office operations manual.2 p" i* Q  b" D- B, N2 L

• Manage office technology software licensing and hardware maintenance.& _& Q! l5 @% Y

/ `9 k" b9 \$ l" k  e' |7 u• Maintain organizational calendar of events, meeting coordination and up to date membership lists of committees and groups.

• Support effective internal communication by recording and distributing all meeting minutes.

5 A( r4 H+ G, \% u• Meet weekly with Program Managers to define priorities.

• Manage all CFCA administrative communications such as liaising with financial institutions, service providers etc. related to administrative management.$ \! g, }( @2 S8 l( ?

International Projects and Public Engagement/Communications:# s: E  I8 H1 T! G5 e

1 H  C. v- v$ `5 O3 t• Maintain inventory of communication materials.

& A- w( ~9 c  U, Z5 [• Process volunteer applications, track volunteer hours, and assist with volunteer scheduling.

• Identify and maintain a current media list and database. File all media articles and press coverage of CFCA.. H1 ~, k/ i0 x0 S! h$ q- i

• Support management of online publicity and communication tools.
! P4 ?& [8 w5 U! [( W/ N& P! v/ e5 J3 L# P
• Support the promotion of CFCA events in Alberta through online and print publicity resources.* D! g* X, p  ~9 z) e

& W; V9 _5 [9 m! K4 Q• Support the management of requests for CFCA information and resources at public events.

9 z. M4 V& Z: e• Manage database and support distribution of print publications.

5 ?' w. }  K" }' A5 v3 q• Provide administrative support for public engagement events and mail outs./ r" C( C3 L3 s/ w. _/ i  g- @

• Weekly out-of-office errands as required (get cheques signed by Board members, drop off grant applications, and pick up office supplies). These errands will require personal transport.

• Provide logistical support for key fundraising events such as silent auctions/ O5 ?/ \' s& q( ^5 s) U  x

• In conjunction with the Funds Development Program Manager, maintain donor database and ensure delivery of timely charitable receipts.
( v" V9 R- \$ b+ C6 q1 T, y. B* v( j$ W5 E$ B  c+ q1 z% n& n( R
• Coordinate volunteers for some fundraising events such as Casino and annual sales events.6 U8 S! }7 P0 A

7 ^2 C$ C# s: i• Support logistical work required for CFCA’s Annual General Meeting

( x6 _. |& l; s) G2 {• Assist in administrative tasks related to donor recognition and event reconciliation as required.

Skills and Qualifications: Education or work experience in office administration and experience with non-profit organizations an asset. Excellent communication and administrative skills; excellent oral and written communication skills; strong administrative and computer skills including proficiency in Word, Excel and Outlook or Outlook Express; Willingness to train on other relevant software; Very strong teamwork and time-management skills; commitment to social justice and sustainable community development.

Spanish language abilities are an asset.
