Police arrest two men after complaint of smelly truck carrying 1,500 pot plants

1 I) t! l- O9 s0 p9 VEDMONTON - Two men are facing charges after Edmonton police pulled over a truck filled with freshly cut marijuana plants. K" o- c( k3 E/ y- v; @
4 ^- j6 t" {& W) DPolice say they got a tip Thursday night from a citizen who told them he'd been driving behind a cube van that was giving off a strong odour of marijuana.

' }/ n' i# m' a) M3 y: @4 R; DOfficers who responded to the call said they also smelled the pot plants about half a block before they pulled over the van. A, o A4 f& L* X- @

Police say there were up to 1,500 mature marijuana plants tied in bundles inside the van.. b! l& b/ a" e% ]& E4 o1 {- U

Roughly 400 kilograms of pot was taken from the vehicle and the driver and a passenger were arrested without incident.

Charges of possession of a controlled substance for the purpose of trafficking have been laid against Dihn Xuan Luu, 44 and Deng Xuan Dihn, 51. |
