Edmonton police believe they have broken the first human trafficking ring in our city.

Three people have been arrested and charged and three women have been safely removed from what police call a suspected bawdy house in the west end.& y l& k# z9 D) z2 s- P
# f4 W5 ?4 @. G9 k+ P& ]5 APolice received a tip earlier this month about possible human trafficking at Sachi Professional Massage and Spa near 175th Street and 100th Avenue. Search warrants were executed early last Saturday, one on the business and one on a residence near 69th Avenue and 199th Street.; v! ~: l1 t: v% w; I# i0 L

Three women between 21 and 41 were removed from the business. ; x$ B: Q9 [: [& c4 o. E

Mei Fang Chen, 33, & Xiu Zheng Chen, 32, were charged with trafficking persons (x2); living off the avails of prostitution (x2), exercising control, direction, or influence over a person for the purposes of prostitution (x2); keeping a common bawdy house, and possession of the proceeds of crime over $5,000.

Qui Wang, 41, was charged with living off the avails of prostitution (x2), exercising control, direction, or influence over a person for the purposes of prostitution (x2); keeping a common bawdy house; possession of the proceeds of crime over $5,000; and assault with a weapon causing bodily harm.1 X) F3 r* ?' z4 K, W6 }# \$ r, @
