Under the direction of the Program Coordinator and in collaboration with CLSA Special
# y7 {" n0 n$ B; b ?" jEvents and Volunteer Committees, this position will be responsible to:

0 ~; f# V/ o6 q( g0 kPlan, implement and evaluate Special Events:
, ~+ ]* e! ^' F( W· Select and develop themes in collaboration with the Committee 7 S7 O9 M0 q5 V, H4 j0 ^
· Oversee event logistics: book entertainment, catering services and venue; assist
; m0 v+ \1 s/ A* n8 c) Hwith decorating; ensure tickets and invitations are available; assist with the
: S0 Y* z0 s1 I) N" g6 Q9 p4 xadvertising of events; recruit, place and supervise volunteers for events; ensure ' e8 U" }1 I: W' S$ _1 H; }
set-up and clean-up; monitor event budget and complete evaluation of events.

· Attend and take minutes for Special Events Committee 1 r4 p# z) x2 p

Duties: Volunteer Coordination
7 c' Y- Z, J5 \+ U3 T7 X3 ZAssist in developing and implementing a volunteer program: Q2 e) U2 j+ v0 h/ m* Z4 Z/ o/ l
· Develop job descriptions for volunteer positions 2 t/ K% P' R1 y
· Recruit, interview, screen and place prospective volunteers 4 B6 ~' O) R+ [2 g. q
· Provide initial orientation and training for new volunteers
5 x9 I& ]9 A# {- O· Ensure provision of recognition and evaluation of volunteers 1 S: H* O# m& [& a+ R" M! y1 m( |: K2 b
· Complete program administration, statistics and records + G) ?$ n8 K% ]3 R
4 Y( i/ P& D1 d+ j# kQualifications: : V0 A$ `6 f7 A0 E5 z# w
· Completion of 12th
2 C( f% e* `+ A* `( `6 x% K Grade and a minimum of a Diploma in Recreation
" V* s. b& v. X& ?, IAdministration, Volunteer Management or Special Event Planning or equivalent. * W, d) T3 `9 I1 A
· At least one year of experience in Recreation Administration and some direct
# s d- R% K% Q- Q3 Sexperience in conducting recreational, cultural or other related events ; T4 g: ^) ?( F* S1 `! u! e
· Experience working with and managing volunteers & }/ c2 O- L# ]/ Q s3 c% O0 J. S
· Specialized skills and training in working with seniors & Z1 o3 G3 F( K% q( H7 G
· Ability to instruct, organize and supervise group activities and special events ( `* V( }; j) Q1 ~; q0 r7 v
· Current Standard First Aid, CPR & AED training

Hours: Flexible – some evening and weekend work - J" J, e( U5 @; q$ ^

Wages: $16 - $20/hour depending on qualifications
