Under the direction of the Program Coordinator and in collaboration with CLSA Special

Plan, implement and evaluate Special Events:
3 D1 o3 B+ `; p$ o· Select and develop themes in collaboration with the Committee
; m' G& m5 N/ S: N· Oversee event logistics: book entertainment, catering services and venue; assist
9 t, u$ }1 @& }with decorating; ensure tickets and invitations are available; assist with the / p3 C, N% ?. m: w) t* V/ ]$ X
advertising of events; recruit, place and supervise volunteers for events; ensure
9 ~0 b% [2 j9 Y3 o4 Y! gset-up and clean-up; monitor event budget and complete evaluation of events. : q; c+ ^- m6 U( F& Z
· Attend and manage Special Events : B8 v+ w) s( w
· Attend and take minutes for Special Events Committee 3 }# ^! j3 C- |& o& d0 H
@7 S- t7 p% `/ f9 w- {Duties: Volunteer Coordination
W& C7 T4 d4 I$ h, r( Q) R' NAssist in developing and implementing a volunteer program: $ B9 }, a$ `* ~+ y& N
· Develop job descriptions for volunteer positions - d# k# J! u _ ]! C& A
· Recruit, interview, screen and place prospective volunteers 7 k k, Z; f! p" k5 E
· Provide initial orientation and training for new volunteers ) l: D- e1 c- f8 I& h
· Ensure provision of recognition and evaluation of volunteers
! B$ M/ X5 s/ _: U, @' v) h$ ?# T· Complete program administration, statistics and records

Qualifications: 6 N/ b, k1 l) N5 t: p ]0 V7 e5 i8 e
· Completion of 12th( v* P9 j6 Y8 u( l6 Z6 b, z8 Q
Grade and a minimum of a Diploma in Recreation % R2 O+ r: ~" c4 w& T3 E" D
Administration, Volunteer Management or Special Event Planning or equivalent.
* V; E! r# V+ E4 J/ H· At least one year of experience in Recreation Administration and some direct
0 B! m2 G1 d% `# o- S" m# P% Uexperience in conducting recreational, cultural or other related events + _; a: K4 a% ]
· Experience working with and managing volunteers 1 C2 i: E! Y2 `+ {! A5 c, J8 l! B
· Specialized skills and training in working with seniors 2 q. X$ h% J2 |2 N# B
· Ability to instruct, organize and supervise group activities and special events 1 T. m$ T4 G+ w7 f6 F6 K2 y t
· Current Standard First Aid, CPR & AED training
