Events and Volunteer Committees, this position will be responsible to: ' [ k5 E& i- r7 P+ i( F8 i6 `

Plan, implement and evaluate Special Events:
5 c. }5 ]) e' d) [* i( @) p· Select and develop themes in collaboration with the Committee 1 D0 y% F8 M, R' R3 Q; H
· Oversee event logistics: book entertainment, catering services and venue; assist 0 p6 Q6 [# r6 s( Z
with decorating; ensure tickets and invitations are available; assist with the # \4 M; ^2 d4 K8 Y. A4 \2 r2 D6 Q
advertising of events; recruit, place and supervise volunteers for events; ensure : \) p% m* B. d
set-up and clean-up; monitor event budget and complete evaluation of events.

Assist in developing and implementing a volunteer program: ) A7 i: l' t! O/ u/ ? e
· Develop job descriptions for volunteer positions - j1 I5 W, Z8 s O2 t. s
· Recruit, interview, screen and place prospective volunteers / a3 l: o3 p6 j# ~
· Provide initial orientation and training for new volunteers
9 u* }: Y( {9 W+ |· Ensure provision of recognition and evaluation of volunteers
+ C6 h5 o4 }( N, m$ V+ r" k· Complete program administration, statistics and records [ O; C! [" b( t2 K

Qualifications: C- c8 u/ c7 ]! s
· Completion of 12th
H A8 V- Z3 u/ M3 T( X Grade and a minimum of a Diploma in Recreation
' m# c3 v. h0 {, C' X z% c2 TAdministration, Volunteer Management or Special Event Planning or equivalent. - x4 d- b7 c# F+ l) `! g, s
· At least one year of experience in Recreation Administration and some direct
5 r8 a7 d+ b8 `: H& d B ^0 j; Rexperience in conducting recreational, cultural or other related events 1 j: w' I7 A. @% d
· Experience working with and managing volunteers : s1 d+ w( v7 w$ N# W2 p* F
· Specialized skills and training in working with seniors
. Q+ W1 d2 ]+ o& e0 x& [$ s9 }: j7 Q· Ability to instruct, organize and supervise group activities and special events
* g' L/ v' Z& K5 ^6 d· Current Standard First Aid, CPR & AED training

Hours: Flexible – some evening and weekend work
