A# P1 c* L* A# A4 B * Provides technical support and husbandry of the Thermal Ionization Mass Spectrometer (TIMS) Laboratory
7 { @5 X. V! \4 j& F$ U * Performs isotopic analyses on a broad spectrum of chemical elements, including Pb, Os, Nd, Sr
+ c! w2 \8 m$ \ * Completes routine maintenance on the TIMS and auxiliary equipment, such as vacuum pumps
h( U1 ^$ n B+ i5 `$ l7 @ * Performs data compilation, analysis and data reduction calculations& n+ A0 ]& C" K0 L8 Q
* Trains users on the mass spectrometer and reduction calculations
! x# G8 p- X" x% ^( A U$ ~0 t0 A: Q7 W, H" ^9 ?
Qualifications8 u* u& z4 J" Z: s* d
9 R8 F( t* c8 q$ z * Technical diploma in Physical Sciences, preferably Geological Sciences or equivalent; BSc in Geology or Chemistry is preferred
9 r6 }! Q1 P+ ?8 E5 s * Specialized training on thermal ionization mass spectrometers, geochemical analyses, and instrumentation
( B5 F$ k0 e/ E& U2 a * Experience in an established research laboratory with demonstrated knowledge of lab safety regulations and procedures including general lab hygiene and specific safety protocols for thermal ionization mass spectrometers
