- x: \+ L& S3 H: N2 W * Provides technical support and husbandry of the Thermal Ionization Mass Spectrometer (TIMS) Laboratory5 k8 ~: l4 t, q, W
* Performs isotopic analyses on a broad spectrum of chemical elements, including Pb, Os, Nd, Sr
$ p" j- u, F9 \0 Z. G. i: J q# W6 v * Completes routine maintenance on the TIMS and auxiliary equipment, such as vacuum pumps7 E& I t) T3 a& l
* Performs data compilation, analysis and data reduction calculations3 T0 i6 {) C4 r Y
* Trains users on the mass spectrometer and reduction calculations

Qualifications1 l" `, m4 Q) c3 M! \2 `
. P r9 L3 i" a7 b9 K4 R * Technical diploma in Physical Sciences, preferably Geological Sciences or equivalent; BSc in Geology or Chemistry is preferred
. z( P1 Y( {" E; c4 | M4 v6 ?: I1 n * Specialized training on thermal ionization mass spectrometers, geochemical analyses, and instrumentation
* H* G t7 _! p' _ * Experience in an established research laboratory with demonstrated knowledge of lab safety regulations and procedures including general lab hygiene and specific safety protocols for thermal ionization mass spectrometers/ a6 k# ~# h1 S6 L
* WHMIS training
( R; r! R( v2 N2 \% {- B * Computer competency in MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and programming experience would be an asset1 ^+ f2 H9 b% q8 ~" F8 A
