5 l2 z0 h5 M% t/ q. m2 SIntegrated Employability Skills Training gives immigrants the essential
2 H: K' s* e* s8 J( {, F( Oskills needed for success in the Alberta workplace. This 5-month funded
' W) ]4 j% V/ Dprogram combines classroom-based training with work site visits and work
! F# Y6 U7 T7 a$ _+ [$ eexperience placements in high-demand semi-skilled occupations, such as
warehousing, customer service, hospitality, healthcare support, food
services and others.

; \8 z+ F/ s' a+ n& aCandidate Profile:
8 I/ N/ d5 t9 C6 m) z) b1 [7 \
) _% p3 M( W' O# w  LCandidates for this funded program must be landed immigrants, Canadian
citizens or refugees who are eligible to work in Canada and who have:
$ R( n- N6 ^" P: J. U$ q4 a9 N*        English communication skills in the 4 - 6 range on CLB
" Q+ f2 ^3 a4 Y0 S*        Basic literacy and numeracy skills and some secondary or post-
( v5 N1 [+ X( `& s3 jsecondary education
/ ?% g. Z8 O# ?*        A genuine interest in finding permanent employment in a high-demand
) t5 v  l( z9 J, u  k9 noccupation
*        Availability to study fulltime for 5 months and then be employed
*        Willingness to commit to a program and future job

Program Description:

: U: j" b0 C" h" @, y" Y) @. R                        *        4 months classroom-based instruction and
field trips
        *        Improve your English while learning about a variety of
9 T+ y4 M" N9 u# |3 lhigh-demand occupations
; B) h3 ~; M6 u$ g2 J        *        Increase computer skills (MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint,
, r6 C& K6 f" \+ v# ?2 \1 IInternet, etc.)
        *        Write a winning resume and improve interview skills
        *        Get First Aid/CPR and WHMIS certificates
        *        Take advantage of one-on-one employment counseling
                        *        1 month work-experience placement

        *        September 12, 2005 to January 31, 2006
        *        Monday to Friday
        *        9:00 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. (tentative)
