Program Overview:

, `$ @5 n: X! ]" {% n  _Integrated Employability Skills Training gives immigrants the essential
  z4 a5 b1 b" l4 Y& d' Lskills needed for success in the Alberta workplace. This 5-month funded
8 O. Z6 g: O7 B! Q! h9 N: T) Iprogram combines classroom-based training with work site visits and work
% z% s" `  R, f4 fexperience placements in high-demand semi-skilled occupations, such as
. ~9 _( j3 {5 K  swarehousing, customer service, hospitality, healthcare support, food
" @- y' g* H7 bservices and others.

Candidate Profile:

3 c$ @0 p: e& ?* w8 pCandidates for this funded program must be landed immigrants, Canadian
2 v7 P4 `; v. {: g7 V9 ~: Hcitizens or refugees who are eligible to work in Canada and who have:
3 f5 L" U1 m0 i- X1 M# n*        English communication skills in the 4 - 6 range on CLB
*        Basic literacy and numeracy skills and some secondary or post-
( O8 N% U  |' J. T, zsecondary education
, U; T$ E/ N) y5 p0 @+ L*        A genuine interest in finding permanent employment in a high-demand
! {: m) q  d( G+ i7 b0 E6 doccupation
8 S' Z: L0 u. k! N; Q: y$ M$ X1 @*        Availability to study fulltime for 5 months and then be employed
*        Willingness to commit to a program and future job

                        *        4 months classroom-based instruction and
) b+ h& P" Z5 q5 K# jfield trips
( ?5 W# H2 S9 ^+ j        *        Improve your English while learning about a variety of
4 x1 q; S# o- E7 Ehigh-demand occupations
        *        Increase computer skills (MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint,
& h# b6 e3 o# J$ u+ FInternet, etc.)
5 K5 R$ w+ }/ L/ ?1 J3 e3 ]6 K5 x        *        Write a winning resume and improve interview skills
- X' I! S7 r- `9 C% ~        *        Get First Aid/CPR and WHMIS certificates
        *        Take advantage of one-on-one employment counseling
                        *        1 month work-experience placement
