Program Overview:

! e  ]7 `! \$ b- _( Z# W0 J# D5 [+ xIntegrated Employability Skills Training gives immigrants the essential
9 W8 x; l! K( Fskills needed for success in the Alberta workplace. This 5-month funded
program combines classroom-based training with work site visits and work
  P( @" e+ ?* N3 n/ zexperience placements in high-demand semi-skilled occupations, such as
" C( ~/ o+ D- m, n+ ~warehousing, customer service, hospitality, healthcare support, food
6 O) U0 b5 c4 u* q5 B1 C+ @services and others.
" `- @5 r- K) |1 L; t* v3 }# Q
# }* `  A- n! @# zCandidate Profile:
) g1 }, [6 L9 N# `+ P8 A
Candidates for this funded program must be landed immigrants, Canadian
citizens or refugees who are eligible to work in Canada and who have:
*        English communication skills in the 4 - 6 range on CLB
*        Basic literacy and numeracy skills and some secondary or post-
" [' ~& L) d, nsecondary education
*        A genuine interest in finding permanent employment in a high-demand
occupation
% U; y3 K9 [2 Z1 j( u2 N3 U*        Availability to study fulltime for 5 months and then be employed
*        Willingness to commit to a program and future job
! Z' i) o+ g/ P/ E+ s% ^% [*        Resided in Alberta for the past 3 months

Program Description:

* @0 |7 Q* B8 O6 k, G9 n/ P7 ]: M                        *        4 months classroom-based instruction and
field trips
6 r  h8 F- `, P. I( n* U' N; Y9 ?/ Z        *        Improve your English while learning about a variety of
4 p$ r: ^0 Z; I0 L0 Ghigh-demand occupations
8 \  U% f+ K: R        *        Increase computer skills (MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint,
Internet, etc.)
$ |! U: U0 i1 a/ ]+ _3 K2 F- I9 V        *        Write a winning resume and improve interview skills
        *        Get First Aid/CPR and WHMIS certificates
/ `4 @' d( E; ?/ Y        *        Take advantage of one-on-one employment counseling
                        *        1 month work-experience placement
