Program Overview:
. y  [# A- O1 T; b9 Z0 J' g+ u
$ P8 a- }4 L( P$ V% `5 hIntegrated Employability Skills Training gives immigrants the essential
skills needed for success in the Alberta workplace. This 5-month funded
program combines classroom-based training with work site visits and work
experience placements in high-demand semi-skilled occupations, such as
4 V. \' t, v( ~  `' kwarehousing, customer service, hospitality, healthcare support, food
services and others.

Candidate Profile:

Candidates for this funded program must be landed immigrants, Canadian
: O! v* M! Z# @4 k4 Zcitizens or refugees who are eligible to work in Canada and who have:
5 E  x# ?. N) t8 X1 }*        English communication skills in the 4 - 6 range on CLB
! J  {) z0 g/ H/ t* R& e*        Basic literacy and numeracy skills and some secondary or post-
secondary education
/ ]) C  S: ^  ^* c; S* j% _*        A genuine interest in finding permanent employment in a high-demand
) b* D) |, j& e) \* E. K( D; coccupation
*        Availability to study fulltime for 5 months and then be employed
9 O2 U# M2 i1 h; R*        Willingness to commit to a program and future job
*        Resided in Alberta for the past 3 months

Program Description:

1 h2 }: `3 a; |: A" V( I* @                        *        4 months classroom-based instruction and
field trips
* Y# U: ]- e, j$ J        *        Improve your English while learning about a variety of
- G/ e6 j. z) J/ Whigh-demand occupations
        *        Increase computer skills (MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint,
! g- M$ y( Y0 p2 Z: n7 KInternet, etc.)
        *        Write a winning resume and improve interview skills
        *        Get First Aid/CPR and WHMIS certificates
        *        Take advantage of one-on-one employment counseling
* X) Z" N  I; }. K7 L                        *        1 month work-experience placement
& S6 B& e7 t2 i# }4 Y

        *        September 12, 2005 to January 31, 2006
        *        Monday to Friday
