Integrated Employability Skills Training gives immigrants the essential
. \, `1 k! \  e1 h" e$ Rskills needed for success in the Alberta workplace. This 5-month funded
program combines classroom-based training with work site visits and work
experience placements in high-demand semi-skilled occupations, such as
warehousing, customer service, hospitality, healthcare support, food
% D* Z% g" X: _  u% Kservices and others.

Candidate Profile:

/ Y# _- G" h- n8 `! L/ ]" z: ~' y! nCandidates for this funded program must be landed immigrants, Canadian
1 ~& g3 z8 t  R7 icitizens or refugees who are eligible to work in Canada and who have:
*        English communication skills in the 4 - 6 range on CLB
*        Basic literacy and numeracy skills and some secondary or post-
secondary education
*        A genuine interest in finding permanent employment in a high-demand
, ]! _. q) {2 d5 ]occupation
*        Availability to study fulltime for 5 months and then be employed
*        Willingness to commit to a program and future job
*        Resided in Alberta for the past 3 months

/ [' V' G. v& E) t        *        Improve your English while learning about a variety of
high-demand occupations
; ~; X$ K. k" X2 U* Y        *        Increase computer skills (MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint,
Internet, etc.)
' [. P+ V2 I; V' g0 r9 ^        *        Write a winning resume and improve interview skills
8 H! u2 E: U! \3 ?/ e) N        *        Get First Aid/CPR and WHMIS certificates
/ N2 `% ]9 r! C0 k  u' Y        *        Take advantage of one-on-one employment counseling
                        *        1 month work-experience placement

Class Schedule and Location:

        *        September 12, 2005 to January 31, 2006
        *        Monday to Friday
