Big Brothers Big Sisters of Edmonton and Area provides mentoring programs to more than 2,800 children, youth and families. We are looking for 4 temporary full time summer staff. % R& S- F% n# \ J6 w2 c3 [

Key Responsibilities Include:5 _9 a% L5 D: q9 l4 w# q+ k
Activity Planning and Daily Activity
6 @) |8 u- f* \• Assist in planning, organizing and relevant activities for children and youth to explore new avenues including leadership & life skills, recreation, and their cultural community that enhance their resilience, relationship building and leadership.7 P4 G6 ? J+ @
• Participate in the delivery of all programs in the areas of crafts, sports and tutoring. 5 m6 J6 r$ ?" i* ^5 K& z
• Participate in and lead sporting activities; know and have the ability to apply game rules for basketball, soccer and volleyball, ( {: j) Y. K2 n, e
• Provide proper supervision in all activities to ensure the safety of the program participants.
* U1 O$ f0 ^: v• Supervise the children and youth at breakfast and lunch time.
2 X, ]) f4 U' k' @' z$ O' A3 Q• Help to maintain housekeeping standards by ensuring all program facilities are left clean after each activity and each meal.

2 j( D9 {3 E. }+ s% P3 e$ w- k• The enthusiasm and ability to work with a variety of ages of youth in a group setting
& C9 \9 X- ?& f6 a9 ]- I# K• Experience with children w, d5 W+ b1 }4 a, V2 g
• Demonstrated knowledge of sporting, activity planning for youth / l q$ O+ Q, O6 u7 ^. h$ X. }
• Knowledge the English language and the ability to support math tutoring.4 E' S: C7 f! S! \1 V. @5 \) c
• Ability to manage time effectively and be results oriented.

: M5 R5 C) d. `4 W. z• Documentation of a clear CYIM (Child & Youth Information Management) check + f& ~# e6 E7 c& _
