Big Brothers Big Sisters of Edmonton and Area provides mentoring programs to more than 2,800 children, youth and families. We are looking for 4 temporary full time summer staff.

4 n$ X+ ]1 G$ I; b, Q, N0 ]3 kKey Responsibilities Include:
$ S( g) s1 l/ G/ d% QActivity Planning and Daily Activity2 ~' L7 b* o Z* F* X
• Assist in planning, organizing and relevant activities for children and youth to explore new avenues including leadership & life skills, recreation, and their cultural community that enhance their resilience, relationship building and leadership. U, b9 M( W3 v6 } ^. \5 k/ L* m
• Participate in the delivery of all programs in the areas of crafts, sports and tutoring.
& w$ ~+ x P$ ~; ]7 V/ C" O• Participate in and lead sporting activities; know and have the ability to apply game rules for basketball, soccer and volleyball, 3 R1 s( i! l$ ~+ h* [6 ^
• Provide proper supervision in all activities to ensure the safety of the program participants.# v/ {: O6 S" l. c7 E! j6 o
• Supervise the children and youth at breakfast and lunch time.* l( s6 K5 _' }, z/ E1 F% G- R4 |
• Help to maintain housekeeping standards by ensuring all program facilities are left clean after each activity and each meal.# t, r( p" H) ]# v) Q2 g) o
) e. r0 e' S: `The successful candidate will have:' V3 r$ b$ D( F$ D
• The enthusiasm and ability to work with a variety of ages of youth in a group setting
* ~/ |4 m$ z) _• Experience with children2 M! I8 b! Q0 W+ k2 M2 H
• Demonstrated knowledge of sporting, activity planning for youth - j, J$ ^. R$ E9 r
• Knowledge the English language and the ability to support math tutoring., u1 ^+ Z: Z; h! C
• Ability to manage time effectively and be results oriented.; }3 `" S3 s1 F k
• Knowledge of children’s activities and community resources% L9 K: y" z0 _+ j& |! n8 H2 A
• Documentation of a clear CYIM (Child & Youth Information Management) check 2 W; {- X& N$ \ ^* [
• Documentation of a clear vulnerable sector Security Clearance check 5 L7 {/ [, j' i/ ~: y. D$ S
