Big Brothers Big Sisters of Edmonton and Area provides mentoring programs to more than 2,800 children, youth and families. We are looking for 4 temporary full time summer staff.

Key Responsibilities Include:
2 B# O" S7 F _# dActivity Planning and Daily Activity
& ^) d7 S' n7 R: w, r• Assist in planning, organizing and relevant activities for children and youth to explore new avenues including leadership & life skills, recreation, and their cultural community that enhance their resilience, relationship building and leadership.
& B) Y; V( ~+ C' x• Participate in the delivery of all programs in the areas of crafts, sports and tutoring.
, Z# u) p: m7 ]) e- m4 A$ k8 W• Participate in and lead sporting activities; know and have the ability to apply game rules for basketball, soccer and volleyball,
; I' _4 _: p8 S) E0 a/ t• Provide proper supervision in all activities to ensure the safety of the program participants.
2 B/ o F3 j0 [; z• Supervise the children and youth at breakfast and lunch time.3 Q4 V) Y+ k$ p0 M$ ~$ v
• Help to maintain housekeeping standards by ensuring all program facilities are left clean after each activity and each meal.

The successful candidate will have:
' e3 f$ l8 c+ }! w* {) A" o# K7 w• The enthusiasm and ability to work with a variety of ages of youth in a group setting
( T% Z* K5 h6 {• Experience with children
' P& ?& C+ ]) D( l6 \& M• Demonstrated knowledge of sporting, activity planning for youth # T' y5 q8 D0 A/ m N5 @
• Knowledge the English language and the ability to support math tutoring.! c+ s/ P: f- o, Z) C( Z
• Ability to manage time effectively and be results oriented.; d1 a. |/ e" Y3 w; l9 I
• Knowledge of children’s activities and community resources7 [. g& W% a, V" ^' A) E+ j
• Documentation of a clear CYIM (Child & Youth Information Management) check
