Big Brothers Big Sisters of Edmonton and Area provides mentoring programs to more than 2,800 children, youth and families. We are looking for 4 temporary full time summer staff. ( z' E- k7 r7 R+ A! u+ B& c* S

4 Multicultural Summer Camp Program Staff % ]1 x L6 B: I9 o
(8 week contract @ 35 hours a week)3 I4 Q# i$ \/ ?8 Z

Key Responsibilities Include:- u# e/ k$ q$ l' a7 l, x# u
Activity Planning and Daily Activity, @. K9 q$ O- d, W# d
• Assist in planning, organizing and relevant activities for children and youth to explore new avenues including leadership & life skills, recreation, and their cultural community that enhance their resilience, relationship building and leadership.
+ q) |( d4 O5 T f• Participate in the delivery of all programs in the areas of crafts, sports and tutoring.
7 p, G2 c: H# W! y; Q7 {% r• Participate in and lead sporting activities; know and have the ability to apply game rules for basketball, soccer and volleyball,
7 v1 g* T; s$ V Q+ A9 x5 @, y• Provide proper supervision in all activities to ensure the safety of the program participants.
+ S4 d4 s2 J, D; n5 v• Supervise the children and youth at breakfast and lunch time.
* V+ N* F7 Y2 y7 j U- |6 U1 K; H• Help to maintain housekeeping standards by ensuring all program facilities are left clean after each activity and each meal.' e. \- X+ d, T9 Y8 S6 T+ N ~1 z

The successful candidate will have:
# ~2 J/ F: W5 [7 d. C• The enthusiasm and ability to work with a variety of ages of youth in a group setting
4 G8 P- S. |" _0 r; Y• Experience with children# m5 m. u- Y- {2 G
• Demonstrated knowledge of sporting, activity planning for youth
& i# q3 U6 ]; ]2 ^: n% @• Knowledge the English language and the ability to support math tutoring.. v' [8 A, ~- T( ?% d8 R
• Ability to manage time effectively and be results oriented./ A/ s, l# {1 A5 O) I
• Knowledge of children’s activities and community resources
4 y2 Q& B4 T- d. z4 d, c• Documentation of a clear CYIM (Child & Youth Information Management) check 1 L2 K+ k4 T+ P$ k
• Documentation of a clear vulnerable sector Security Clearance check % u/ x' w" g2 ?! u6 s
