Big Brothers Big Sisters of Edmonton and Area provides mentoring programs to more than 2,800 children, youth and families. Together with the Africa Centre, we are looking for 2 temporary full time summer student staff.

2 Multicultural Summer Camp Program Students

Key Responsibilities Include
$ r: e }* `6 [Activity Planning and Daily Activity! W! k. u9 T- K# p3 ?! f8 _
• Assist in planning, organizing and relevant activities for children and youth to explore new avenues including leadership & life skills, recreation, and their cultural community that enhance their resilience, relationship building and leadership.
& p/ N6 |0 m$ m/ [: M" p- I• Participate in the delivery of all programs in the areas of crafts, sports and tutoring.
6 |0 @$ m, S; U) U1 z3 u( a1 }• Participate in and lead sporting activities; know and have the ability to apply game rules for basketball, soccer and volleyball, ! b# c; b. b* x3 b& _
• Provide proper supervision in all activities to ensure the safety of the program participants.
6 y% f' v8 g7 m7 Y, p, o$ I• Supervise the children and youth at breakfast and lunch time.

• The enthusiasm and ability to work with a variety of ages of youth in a group setting
( ?0 G0 Q3 P& M• Experience with children/ q& p3 m$ d( m0 V) K$ o' i
• Demonstrated knowledge of sporting, activity planning for youth , f6 p5 S8 W$ I/ ] F& H
• Knowledge the English language and the ability to support math tutoring.
$ F0 B1 C! X" [( a• Ability to manage time effectively and be results oriented.
