Big Brothers Big Sisters of Edmonton and Area provides mentoring programs to more than 2,800 children, youth and families. Together with the Africa Centre, we are looking for 2 temporary full time summer student staff.

2 Multicultural Summer Camp Program Students

Key Responsibilities Include% `4 x" B8 S& R% u, u* Z
Activity Planning and Daily Activity
# {) d/ f! G! R5 n7 v; A& u• Assist in planning, organizing and relevant activities for children and youth to explore new avenues including leadership & life skills, recreation, and their cultural community that enhance their resilience, relationship building and leadership.
8 O, k% v/ {6 A( K1 P1 g: X• Participate in the delivery of all programs in the areas of crafts, sports and tutoring. : |/ O; _! T6 S3 T! l$ m; ~9 v
• Participate in and lead sporting activities; know and have the ability to apply game rules for basketball, soccer and volleyball, " H, f6 l4 J$ U e, C
• Provide proper supervision in all activities to ensure the safety of the program participants.8 k( W! n$ J% P
• Supervise the children and youth at breakfast and lunch time., t2 t+ w1 J/ }
• Help to maintain housekeeping standards by ensuring all program facilities are left clean after each activity and each meal.

The successful candidate will have:
/ X, S$ D L4 o: i6 ^, P2 {• The enthusiasm and ability to work with a variety of ages of youth in a group setting
8 T: {" x$ `) h• Experience with children3 f4 y( V# K+ B1 ]4 j
• Demonstrated knowledge of sporting, activity planning for youth
1 O3 d' m6 j; X/ W. g" V! n• Knowledge the English language and the ability to support math tutoring.
* m: V0 y: x* O. H' ]• Ability to manage time effectively and be results oriented.
