FAVA is currently looking for a Librarian to join the FAVA team for 10 weeks in the
. y" \2 F/ x r9 V7 O. q: _1 j# Ssummer of 2009. FAVA is a non-profit, charitable organization whose mandate is to 2 p( ?: Q B# e! c; o1 L5 S u1 M
support the production and exhibition of film, video and media artists from Northern 5 U" M3 _4 F* E$ x& N
Alberta.

( e! u* o! H* z( oFAVA serves members with diverse backgrounds and levels of experience, ranging from $ y. D5 |4 T7 O6 f8 P: u
emerging, mid-range to established artists with an unwavering passion for film, video 6 g" t2 O2 o' V* R/ k1 D
and media art. FAVA offers: a variety of workshops for artistic and skill development; is a " Y% D! p2 B8 {5 q2 V
resource for production equipment and post-production facilities; hosts events and

Job Description: The Librarian will report to the Executive Director and work with the 6 A4 X+ I* s2 L& Q
FAVA staff by organizing and updating two libraries: the film, video and digital library; as H5 M# `6 b+ g3 u! j
well as the script, magazine and book library. 3 k) @# r: f; [9 A

- Sort and catalogue scripts, magazine and books . N4 E: y2 g# n# o3 d! G8 z) o
- Implement a catalogue template for future use
8 O% v( x' |9 b/ ?: G' G- B- Update and develop loaning policy and procedure
' k. u0 ~# V* t+ F7 o- Enforce FAVA’s standard of use policies where applicable

secondary training, university preferred

- Exceptional communication skills, written and verbal
