FAVA is currently looking for a Librarian to join the FAVA team for 10 weeks in the 1 q3 t5 @; Q2 ?# X. M+ ~
summer of 2009. FAVA is a non-profit, charitable organization whose mandate is to
' k' h4 Q/ N# A# ~- N _support the production and exhibition of film, video and media artists from Northern 6 k, ^' Z- F% R3 \4 C9 v* K/ g
Alberta. # X. ?: Q3 {" A( u& Q' z+ r4 H0 }0 J* m

FAVA serves members with diverse backgrounds and levels of experience, ranging from
/ x$ O g% F: z i5 K" p* Wemerging, mid-range to established artists with an unwavering passion for film, video ; y+ |& m, M8 I1 y! M" N5 l$ Y: }3 w8 J
and media art. FAVA offers: a variety of workshops for artistic and skill development; is a - S" @% k/ S$ F
resource for production equipment and post-production facilities; hosts events and 4 J$ b0 v, D$ d4 ~; J: t7 _0 O
screenings; and fosters and develops a dynamic media arts community in Northern

Job Description: The Librarian will report to the Executive Director and work with the
% `: e+ O) r& N, v/ u! T1 l2 FFAVA staff by organizing and updating two libraries: the film, video and digital library; as % S/ C% s$ Q9 u5 ?6 {' M
well as the script, magazine and book library. . ^1 C' A8 f$ \

- Sort and catalogue the film, video and digital library 7 b+ N% L$ y" W* k$ _, c/ f/ P
- Sort and catalogue scripts, magazine and books 2 K# M, |2 q4 N: i
- Implement a catalogue template for future use
" y6 X5 C1 z! v. w- Update and develop loaning policy and procedure
* P. W( m( j5 u8 e7 D- Enforce FAVA’s standard of use policies where applicable

- Wage is $15.00 per hour, 35 hours per week 0 d- T& _6 G- O) X5 J- f" Q
- Length of position: 10 consecutive weeks $ J1 M2 s4 @0 i% u9 o

- Experience or training in library sciences preferred ' o$ h9 V# H, @4 Z3 X4 j
