FAVA is currently looking for a Librarian to join the FAVA team for 10 weeks in the
summer of 2009. FAVA is a non-profit, charitable organization whose mandate is to
support the production and exhibition of film, video and media artists from Northern
  V+ K3 a  u% L. [5 p: {3 q. zAlberta.

: J! I! D9 @% z2 W" \FAVA serves members with diverse backgrounds and levels of experience, ranging from
emerging, mid-range to established artists with an unwavering passion for film, video
and media art. FAVA offers: a variety of workshops for artistic and skill development; is a
) Q/ N2 U. d6 `: z4 P$ Presource for production equipment and post-production facilities; hosts events and
$ R; q+ _( [; K) l: E" B5 Iscreenings; and fosters and develops a dynamic media arts community in Northern
: H. C$ ?) o' \- m, mAlberta.

2 {2 F$ j$ ~! J( \( G' y" I# sJob Description: The Librarian will report to the Executive Director and work with the
, d" `1 Z2 ?4 pFAVA staff by organizing and updating two libraries: the film, video and digital library; as
well as the script, magazine and book library.

7 c: z; k' [6 A2 e* i! u- Sort and catalogue the film, video and digital library
- Sort and catalogue scripts, magazine and books
- Implement a catalogue template for future use
- Update and develop loaning policy and procedure
- Enforce FAVA’s standard of use policies where applicable

(STEP)

- Wage is $15.00 per hour, 35 hours per week
- Length of position: 10 consecutive weeks

! H; }( U( F2 D8 Q# WQualifications: The ideal candidate will have:
/ |/ Y/ X; X; U# ?+ B# ^& K5 f$ f- A passionate interest in film, video and media arts
5 e, x% f/ _! ?: X/ v- Strong organizational skills
, V! c5 J& Y3 B! e. z' U$ M# i3 ~4 ]7 V- Experience or training in library sciences preferred
- Exceptional communication skills, written and verbal  
( l2 c$ m: O9 G- Z% F2 @3 A9 Y- Strong team player abilities
- Interest in working for an arts organization that is governed by a Board of Directors
