FAVA is currently looking for a Librarian to join the FAVA team for 10 weeks in the
b* |# ?" `2 @) @5 R, ], ?summer of 2009. FAVA is a non-profit, charitable organization whose mandate is to
* O5 T9 S) C" Z5 [& @ zsupport the production and exhibition of film, video and media artists from Northern * u6 }5 y. p/ P% v z) T

FAVA serves members with diverse backgrounds and levels of experience, ranging from
( S) J6 Y. |" b V. @; kemerging, mid-range to established artists with an unwavering passion for film, video * K% I' e. @' z0 j$ ]) s
and media art. FAVA offers: a variety of workshops for artistic and skill development; is a # b. x1 X( k: `. l; x
resource for production equipment and post-production facilities; hosts events and
/ ?$ l9 n4 r. r! o' f; E* Uscreenings; and fosters and develops a dynamic media arts community in Northern % K! b: P& ?/ L( z/ R) E7 y

Job Description: The Librarian will report to the Executive Director and work with the
; ?& E5 `) N7 V0 @FAVA staff by organizing and updating two libraries: the film, video and digital library; as
1 w- R6 z2 F0 o& `9 J+ Nwell as the script, magazine and book library.

9 Y% n& d+ ~3 b- Sort and catalogue the film, video and digital library
& f# Y0 Z4 r0 h& S- Sort and catalogue scripts, magazine and books

% L4 _9 D1 N1 }2 Z$ x9 K" C- Update and develop loaning policy and procedure ' n# ^% x9 `3 f Y6 O# v' R, }; g
- Enforce FAVA’s standard of use policies where applicable

Qualifications: The ideal candidate will have:

' ^; ~% S' E- U9 W, H% w8 p# \- Strong organizational skills

- Exceptional communication skills, written and verbal % l' t# c' v; ` s v

- Interest in working for an arts organization that is governed by a Board of Directors
