FAVA is currently looking for a Librarian to join the FAVA team for 10 weeks in the
& j& u" r" y7 H5 K3 ]! ^summer of 2009. FAVA is a non-profit, charitable organization whose mandate is to 4 R% H+ j! m3 O% Y; K4 u1 X
support the production and exhibition of film, video and media artists from Northern

% b" M) i7 z; a; i3 Sand media art. FAVA offers: a variety of workshops for artistic and skill development; is a

FAVA staff by organizing and updating two libraries: the film, video and digital library; as
5 N2 u4 M# @8 |, o2 ^7 _3 H& \6 Owell as the script, magazine and book library. - b# S5 N% C; s( T: F6 q

- Sort and catalogue the film, video and digital library ( Z9 H8 m5 w1 P1 c: Y" ?
- Sort and catalogue scripts, magazine and books
% d4 Z% l, L- n8 U- Implement a catalogue template for future use
, X3 G6 q: @, ]+ _" | g- Update and develop loaning policy and procedure , _4 Q2 r0 O4 Y# {# V
- Enforce FAVA’s standard of use policies where applicable ' M. _- E5 d: c$ M# I9 [! c: n |. @

- Applicants must be unemployed and attending (or have recently completed) a post-

- Wage is $15.00 per hour, 35 hours per week 6 y+ y0 ]* m0 g+ P
- Length of position: 10 consecutive weeks

Qualifications: The ideal candidate will have: 1 j. b& [/ {) i; T+ Y" }
- A passionate interest in film, video and media arts
! x' J: k' c9 H& Y( v; @5 {7 B+ O- Strong organizational skills ; u4 L7 C8 _: r" o: [( r6 S
- Experience or training in library sciences preferred , E& B5 _& P3 ~4 P, u' c
- Exceptional communication skills, written and verbal 2 Z, {, ?6 c. K/ I
- Strong team player abilities ' A2 x [2 A. S1 W& c* V
- Interest in working for an arts organization that is governed by a Board of Directors
