FAVA is currently looking for a Librarian to join the FAVA team for 10 weeks in the
. {5 u3 H4 M# h/ e0 Isummer of 2009. FAVA is a non-profit, charitable organization whose mandate is to

FAVA serves members with diverse backgrounds and levels of experience, ranging from : p \7 \2 w, s5 N
emerging, mid-range to established artists with an unwavering passion for film, video

screenings; and fosters and develops a dynamic media arts community in Northern

$ ] X9 u! ` i m, BJob Description: The Librarian will report to the Executive Director and work with the
) b$ N6 Z0 J+ R# l9 p2 xFAVA staff by organizing and updating two libraries: the film, video and digital library; as
Z9 S# C) S9 Y# m1 r' Q& kwell as the script, magazine and book library.

Duties:
1 E! w8 y" p) B4 Y- Sort and catalogue the film, video and digital library
$ V: g. q/ g s, C9 K: {, @# T- Sort and catalogue scripts, magazine and books : N2 J0 u/ P& {1 h
- Implement a catalogue template for future use
3 W; |8 |' `7 K0 h4 ~- Update and develop loaning policy and procedure
" Z/ [0 f1 \9 W% }- Enforce FAVA’s standard of use policies where applicable

- Applicants must be unemployed and attending (or have recently completed) a post-; q1 m9 F" a; ?3 c8 s6 Q

- Wage is $15.00 per hour, 35 hours per week
) i: r. K, ?+ S- Length of position: 10 consecutive weeks

Qualifications: The ideal candidate will have:
4 l' A! v8 X6 j0 o- A passionate interest in film, video and media arts
, c4 D! I4 z1 T0 g- L7 o9 m( X- Strong organizational skills
+ _5 L8 C( C* ]: U; R$ B. O- Experience or training in library sciences preferred

- Interest in working for an arts organization that is governed by a Board of Directors
