FAVA is currently looking for a Librarian to join the FAVA team for 10 weeks in the 3 X' |& R1 ]& z' k
summer of 2009. FAVA is a non-profit, charitable organization whose mandate is to

- c8 S, m+ P4 h0 U6 yFAVA serves members with diverse backgrounds and levels of experience, ranging from ; O; \. W* ~8 p9 z
emerging, mid-range to established artists with an unwavering passion for film, video
( G( v! K- w: z2 h$ g6 Land media art. FAVA offers: a variety of workshops for artistic and skill development; is a
# `8 \# E* T8 K+ T# R$ zresource for production equipment and post-production facilities; hosts events and
, M+ Z) R& N5 X3 X5 x% Vscreenings; and fosters and develops a dynamic media arts community in Northern

Job Description: The Librarian will report to the Executive Director and work with the 7 {$ m+ g2 `9 _' S
FAVA staff by organizing and updating two libraries: the film, video and digital library; as . u3 F( |) ]4 q/ |+ x5 z2 N5 Q& l4 f
well as the script, magazine and book library.

Duties: K& I3 N* J. X0 c8 Z
- Sort and catalogue the film, video and digital library
' W$ D/ M* E+ @; D- Sort and catalogue scripts, magazine and books
5 e4 ^1 L: c7 A- Implement a catalogue template for future use 5 h- `; [# v2 n4 U: F4 n
- Update and develop loaning policy and procedure
3 R/ x3 b" }) I5 i. u0 L- Enforce FAVA’s standard of use policies where applicable / B& i2 p% w X8 B# g1 F2 }/ q( h

Qualifications: The ideal candidate will have: & n7 {. q" y; c$ @: A' f2 u/ R7 l: c+ ?
- A passionate interest in film, video and media arts
. Y6 z; F$ K' P# Q- Strong organizational skills
0 M9 R W" z$ i+ G. t$ k- Experience or training in library sciences preferred
. m/ N# \# t+ Z- [& r- Exceptional communication skills, written and verbal
