* d7 V, @% l uFAVA is currently looking for a Librarian to join the FAVA team for 10 weeks in the & I( S+ s9 o, P4 W( g
summer of 2009. FAVA is a non-profit, charitable organization whose mandate is to

FAVA serves members with diverse backgrounds and levels of experience, ranging from

4 t% E- K9 D6 X4 ]' vand media art. FAVA offers: a variety of workshops for artistic and skill development; is a
* f* p0 F! l4 J# F, s1 y. Oresource for production equipment and post-production facilities; hosts events and
" B8 u2 l( E2 N! d( h5 {' Bscreenings; and fosters and develops a dynamic media arts community in Northern

Job Description: The Librarian will report to the Executive Director and work with the
1 J/ L3 }; N8 ?9 s/ m" {+ m6 {FAVA staff by organizing and updating two libraries: the film, video and digital library; as 6 V1 V2 S* [: N* s1 ^# J
well as the script, magazine and book library.

- C$ X8 E( F! w5 j! a0 Z, C- Sort and catalogue the film, video and digital library ' O+ |( M* k& a$ {# G/ j
- Sort and catalogue scripts, magazine and books # O: Q4 B7 e( U1 n& ]* [
- Implement a catalogue template for future use - V3 ?% C5 H% [) Y# h9 X
- Update and develop loaning policy and procedure 2 n1 |: E7 v8 h' B6 q- K' i" N
- Enforce FAVA’s standard of use policies where applicable

Qualifications: The ideal candidate will have:
5 M. o% s2 |3 r# I- A passionate interest in film, video and media arts
! L& F! j& {- U- S" a- Strong organizational skills
/ }) ^( w" J/ m4 B E4 I- Experience or training in library sciences preferred
( _% g2 @3 @! G- Exceptional communication skills, written and verbal : }4 X; r8 J7 e* t2 e" N4 N, S! o
- Strong team player abilities 9 _& `- _) o, H) R8 [& O8 E9 j% k
- Interest in working for an arts organization that is governed by a Board of Directors
