" H$ {  c6 q5 F+ _0 ~5 IFAVA is currently looking for a Librarian to join the FAVA team for 10 weeks in the
5 f3 a; A1 p2 S0 |/ a$ P6 t& G: Bsummer of 2009. FAVA is a non-profit, charitable organization whose mandate is to
5 z3 A7 ^5 q( `1 Q* }4 nsupport the production and exhibition of film, video and media artists from Northern
Alberta.

1 Q$ \1 T, `  N4 N0 @. jFAVA serves members with diverse backgrounds and levels of experience, ranging from
- g& _7 c2 T' g9 n. Aemerging, mid-range to established artists with an unwavering passion for film, video
and media art. FAVA offers: a variety of workshops for artistic and skill development; is a
resource for production equipment and post-production facilities; hosts events and
screenings; and fosters and develops a dynamic media arts community in Northern
Alberta.

Job Description: The Librarian will report to the Executive Director and work with the
FAVA staff by organizing and updating two libraries: the film, video and digital library; as
/ i" p  _: H7 ~6 B% }well as the script, magazine and book library.

Duties:
- Sort and catalogue the film, video and digital library
# v- o0 E# I1 w) j# B7 R7 d: o) _* }- Sort and catalogue scripts, magazine and books
- Implement a catalogue template for future use
  v- t1 ]1 ?9 |9 T9 t& _) B7 F0 S- Update and develop loaning policy and procedure
* W  {7 _% \2 T. J; m8 I- Enforce FAVA’s standard of use policies where applicable

- Funding for this position is provided by the Summer Temporary Employment Program
(STEP)
/ A# d' m! F- G" F- Applicants must be unemployed and attending (or have recently completed) a post-

- Wage is $15.00 per hour, 35 hours per week

- A passionate interest in film, video and media arts
- Strong organizational skills
- Experience or training in library sciences preferred
