FAVA is currently looking for a Librarian to join the FAVA team for 10 weeks in the & Z }$ @, l. C$ ? A1 E* V" \3 j
summer of 2009. FAVA is a non-profit, charitable organization whose mandate is to 3 L( u S! F4 u7 x4 y
support the production and exhibition of film, video and media artists from Northern 9 e0 C0 A: P# f+ j0 @

FAVA serves members with diverse backgrounds and levels of experience, ranging from ! A; o8 K9 [. o% r

and media art. FAVA offers: a variety of workshops for artistic and skill development; is a
: ]6 n% F; e- ?/ A# Oresource for production equipment and post-production facilities; hosts events and

: ^/ C2 A; e* j8 h: iFAVA staff by organizing and updating two libraries: the film, video and digital library; as / s( I$ ^/ q2 Q9 r
well as the script, magazine and book library. " E0 E* T" \# O5 h3 j8 U0 s5 e

- Sort and catalogue scripts, magazine and books 7 S0 }$ ~# _$ i. k, f& U2 H
- Implement a catalogue template for future use
9 w% {" U" k0 y+ {- Update and develop loaning policy and procedure
% U, h- n; E. [: z- Enforce FAVA’s standard of use policies where applicable : J; O0 I5 L" y; R- r- \. u5 j

- Length of position: 10 consecutive weeks

Qualifications: The ideal candidate will have: / [" c! @% b; U! K- R
- A passionate interest in film, video and media arts " u$ |* f- L6 b1 L5 \
- Strong organizational skills 1 p# q7 v3 `0 L( [' r4 C* g" }6 P5 t
- Experience or training in library sciences preferred * ^ ^. J' | @% `" V
- Exceptional communication skills, written and verbal

- Interest in working for an arts organization that is governed by a Board of Directors
