3 S; `9 z2 A+ T8 ~2 wsummer of 2009. FAVA is a non-profit, charitable organization whose mandate is to
support the production and exhibition of film, video and media artists from Northern
7 t! }7 K2 j4 a4 r" H' u6 Y- ?Alberta.

FAVA serves members with diverse backgrounds and levels of experience, ranging from
( F( p1 Y3 [) V9 p- kemerging, mid-range to established artists with an unwavering passion for film, video
and media art. FAVA offers: a variety of workshops for artistic and skill development; is a
resource for production equipment and post-production facilities; hosts events and
& q9 R- }, W# }  s0 E4 J! kscreenings; and fosters and develops a dynamic media arts community in Northern
Alberta.

Job Description: The Librarian will report to the Executive Director and work with the
FAVA staff by organizing and updating two libraries: the film, video and digital library; as
6 L( C3 f" Q1 Q7 E1 Dwell as the script, magazine and book library.

Duties:
  _0 g3 G, Q& u3 g3 g/ I- Sort and catalogue the film, video and digital library
- Sort and catalogue scripts, magazine and books
7 S; _9 }  s! m2 e& ^/ M- Implement a catalogue template for future use
6 p& ^* I- v% N! G* L' O6 n- Update and develop loaning policy and procedure
- Enforce FAVA’s standard of use policies where applicable

Details:
- Funding for this position is provided by the Summer Temporary Employment Program

+ W; o0 F4 K$ ?5 p+ q6 \- Applicants must be unemployed and attending (or have recently completed) a post-
+ s1 e; s# O2 V* R+ Bsecondary training, university preferred
- Wage is $15.00 per hour, 35 hours per week
- Length of position: 10 consecutive weeks

3 [* }; d: s$ A( V0 {4 V4 h7 |Qualifications: The ideal candidate will have:
3 ^3 P/ q( }/ g- A passionate interest in film, video and media arts
9 ?, x! t/ I  T% Y5 D- Strong organizational skills
- Experience or training in library sciences preferred
- Exceptional communication skills, written and verbal  
7 `9 M" ?' H+ C2 N- f! T& _- Strong team player abilities
3 w; }9 O6 I+ M* ^' @8 J, R- Interest in working for an arts organization that is governed by a Board of Directors
