FAVA is currently looking for a Librarian to join the FAVA team for 10 weeks in the ; Z' M, |, E/ h& |" p
summer of 2009. FAVA is a non-profit, charitable organization whose mandate is to : e3 o' J8 Y& P) i3 u0 s. V/ K
support the production and exhibition of film, video and media artists from Northern ) F; A) S$ j+ R D2 i7 Q& A
Alberta. 8 P3 @# N& i, C$ C
. c* R- z# f2 a% C; l$ \FAVA serves members with diverse backgrounds and levels of experience, ranging from 4 G1 ]* o4 ~' T$ F% d. x
emerging, mid-range to established artists with an unwavering passion for film, video 0 x8 N' {# Y: I) W5 x
and media art. FAVA offers: a variety of workshops for artistic and skill development; is a ' Z% f) m9 b9 [. s" l) m
resource for production equipment and post-production facilities; hosts events and ) k( {0 L* `& t; A( E% D9 k
screenings; and fosters and develops a dynamic media arts community in Northern

* h" w; M: b; oJob Description: The Librarian will report to the Executive Director and work with the 9 i: Z5 q* U% @+ f7 o. H( D
FAVA staff by organizing and updating two libraries: the film, video and digital library; as * h+ W! |. z0 H. q! f
well as the script, magazine and book library. - z$ i6 L6 Q4 X: t

Duties:
! L$ R* P1 y/ _! x& F+ P( t4 F- K- Sort and catalogue the film, video and digital library 0 Q8 w% I2 w6 S% O
- Sort and catalogue scripts, magazine and books
4 s) ]/ n4 j' _& F8 Y/ G& s2 v( Z- Implement a catalogue template for future use
6 Y- _' f' \) F- Update and develop loaning policy and procedure : `; B4 v) r( z! _1 ]3 K
- Enforce FAVA’s standard of use policies where applicable " ?& M% h/ _" n ]6 g" S& ^, K; X

secondary training, university preferred

- A passionate interest in film, video and media arts * E) q; {3 q9 C% x8 V
- Strong organizational skills

- Interest in working for an arts organization that is governed by a Board of Directors
