FAVA is currently looking for a Librarian to join the FAVA team for 10 weeks in the ; A% W/ {+ C% d3 t% A6 B
summer of 2009. FAVA is a non-profit, charitable organization whose mandate is to 2 C( i5 j" C% c6 I7 E0 [+ l
support the production and exhibition of film, video and media artists from Northern 9 Q ~" }& v. k1 `5 P6 N! i5 r

FAVA serves members with diverse backgrounds and levels of experience, ranging from 0 e9 i( [: d+ q0 a
emerging, mid-range to established artists with an unwavering passion for film, video " R3 X+ q( n+ h* J; |" \" ]
and media art. FAVA offers: a variety of workshops for artistic and skill development; is a : V: Y a. p8 L9 R3 K) F: A$ |9 ^) y
resource for production equipment and post-production facilities; hosts events and

Job Description: The Librarian will report to the Executive Director and work with the
- T* [5 c) Z0 |- p: w9 TFAVA staff by organizing and updating two libraries: the film, video and digital library; as - D/ C. v( u! N! Z; ?' r4 v. I
well as the script, magazine and book library.

: X' w* J0 J7 }8 u- Sort and catalogue the film, video and digital library / M9 e0 t6 Q0 i" ^0 r* Q: \
- Sort and catalogue scripts, magazine and books
# a: C- i9 e2 `; X: [- Implement a catalogue template for future use
- d- h8 j' b! p+ u: A- Update and develop loaning policy and procedure : O; m: U$ H# X
- Enforce FAVA’s standard of use policies where applicable
- F" `$ M& o: }8 w# e 1 m+ @6 W& i! a3 P) a. h1 s9 ^

Qualifications: The ideal candidate will have:
, g+ {/ M! D2 G: s- A passionate interest in film, video and media arts 0 ^& m" F+ W; _
- Strong organizational skills
3 }( v3 E# W J+ K: T- Experience or training in library sciences preferred
