summer of 2009. FAVA is a non-profit, charitable organization whose mandate is to
support the production and exhibition of film, video and media artists from Northern
' R+ s, p3 q' b# lAlberta.

FAVA serves members with diverse backgrounds and levels of experience, ranging from
emerging, mid-range to established artists with an unwavering passion for film, video
/ w& v5 N$ E* yand media art. FAVA offers: a variety of workshops for artistic and skill development; is a
resource for production equipment and post-production facilities; hosts events and
screenings; and fosters and develops a dynamic media arts community in Northern

Job Description: The Librarian will report to the Executive Director and work with the
FAVA staff by organizing and updating two libraries: the film, video and digital library; as
4 Q& l$ j; ~0 J% `: q# mwell as the script, magazine and book library.

Duties:
8 y2 C1 \7 L1 ]8 A- Sort and catalogue the film, video and digital library
- Sort and catalogue scripts, magazine and books
- Implement a catalogue template for future use
) [6 v. S  G$ a0 V. d- Update and develop loaning policy and procedure
- Enforce FAVA’s standard of use policies where applicable

- Applicants must be unemployed and attending (or have recently completed) a post-

; A2 s1 J  c% C  [% h- Wage is $15.00 per hour, 35 hours per week

Qualifications: The ideal candidate will have:
- A passionate interest in film, video and media arts
- Strong organizational skills
5 n- f# P7 T( ?* M% l8 O  d, `( R2 A- Experience or training in library sciences preferred
- A- y5 y, a5 Z0 u- Exceptional communication skills, written and verbal  
- Strong team player abilities
- Interest in working for an arts organization that is governed by a Board of Directors
