FAVA is currently looking for a Librarian to join the FAVA team for 10 weeks in the
summer of 2009. FAVA is a non-profit, charitable organization whose mandate is to

5 ?4 o! W* T, I: [- v) g0 R* x" TFAVA serves members with diverse backgrounds and levels of experience, ranging from
emerging, mid-range to established artists with an unwavering passion for film, video
+ g! L6 x0 W- c# ^2 _and media art. FAVA offers: a variety of workshops for artistic and skill development; is a
resource for production equipment and post-production facilities; hosts events and
/ m/ ]& X1 r. z& R7 ?& h" Tscreenings; and fosters and develops a dynamic media arts community in Northern
Alberta.

Job Description: The Librarian will report to the Executive Director and work with the
FAVA staff by organizing and updating two libraries: the film, video and digital library; as
well as the script, magazine and book library.

- Sort and catalogue the film, video and digital library
- Sort and catalogue scripts, magazine and books
- Implement a catalogue template for future use
4 C! q+ U3 q) V3 j6 h- p- Update and develop loaning policy and procedure
7 D0 C6 V3 g& d5 ~( `+ w7 d1 q1 X1 |- Enforce FAVA’s standard of use policies where applicable

- Funding for this position is provided by the Summer Temporary Employment Program

- Applicants must be unemployed and attending (or have recently completed) a post-

- Wage is $15.00 per hour, 35 hours per week

- A passionate interest in film, video and media arts
- Strong organizational skills
- Experience or training in library sciences preferred

- Interest in working for an arts organization that is governed by a Board of Directors
