: T  f. @: z6 _" ^: E! mFAVA is currently looking for a Librarian to join the FAVA team for 10 weeks in the
& J! M& u8 Z' s) R& L) J+ P) jsummer of 2009. FAVA is a non-profit, charitable organization whose mandate is to
support the production and exhibition of film, video and media artists from Northern
; x9 I7 A! y! b8 s) e! JAlberta.

. W* B" _+ j0 h: T5 DFAVA serves members with diverse backgrounds and levels of experience, ranging from
emerging, mid-range to established artists with an unwavering passion for film, video
$ M& t8 J- q8 z: u% U' Pand media art. FAVA offers: a variety of workshops for artistic and skill development; is a
/ ^$ s- ~+ \/ j7 Fresource for production equipment and post-production facilities; hosts events and
' \/ Y" l9 T% G' uscreenings; and fosters and develops a dynamic media arts community in Northern
4 ~6 S& Z: m$ o& z- o( P+ ^Alberta.

% t) b. w8 o( Y1 Q" y% [/ \' [Job Description: The Librarian will report to the Executive Director and work with the
FAVA staff by organizing and updating two libraries: the film, video and digital library; as
; ]% o; d9 x+ U3 L9 @+ g0 u2 y, I- zwell as the script, magazine and book library.

Duties:
- Sort and catalogue the film, video and digital library
# e$ P/ ~+ R1 P- Sort and catalogue scripts, magazine and books
- Implement a catalogue template for future use
- Update and develop loaning policy and procedure
- Enforce FAVA’s standard of use policies where applicable

Details:
- Funding for this position is provided by the Summer Temporary Employment Program

- Applicants must be unemployed and attending (or have recently completed) a post-
secondary training, university preferred
; K+ h+ y; v: n8 Z( x- Wage is $15.00 per hour, 35 hours per week
- Length of position: 10 consecutive weeks

Qualifications: The ideal candidate will have:
9 K, d5 L- f% j0 Y8 s, ?( p' a6 b- A passionate interest in film, video and media arts
! S+ D& b( i4 w7 N& `8 m- Strong organizational skills
0 |7 p6 x1 c$ Q, A' `- Experience or training in library sciences preferred
& D" f6 T. d$ c& {- Exceptional communication skills, written and verbal  
- Strong team player abilities
- Interest in working for an arts organization that is governed by a Board of Directors
