( ?+ A: t- w( @! L7 r9 r( }* K2 C% kFAVA is currently looking for a Librarian to join the FAVA team for 10 weeks in the
summer of 2009. FAVA is a non-profit, charitable organization whose mandate is to
. w8 B3 v+ ^5 Z, D# d, Q- I  D2 \support the production and exhibition of film, video and media artists from Northern
Alberta.

FAVA serves members with diverse backgrounds and levels of experience, ranging from
2 k  j% v7 R  i* f5 ^4 o/ remerging, mid-range to established artists with an unwavering passion for film, video
% H+ |; V% c3 y9 C! ]% Nand media art. FAVA offers: a variety of workshops for artistic and skill development; is a
resource for production equipment and post-production facilities; hosts events and
$ D% T. N# z9 qscreenings; and fosters and develops a dynamic media arts community in Northern
) _2 v* Y' [5 pAlberta.

. ?; e# D2 d1 xJob Description: The Librarian will report to the Executive Director and work with the
FAVA staff by organizing and updating two libraries: the film, video and digital library; as
! Q9 J) X. q5 N% s( d4 |2 xwell as the script, magazine and book library.

Duties:
. y& k2 G- t9 v% {! A* K1 A2 _) h- Sort and catalogue the film, video and digital library
- Sort and catalogue scripts, magazine and books
- Implement a catalogue template for future use
5 H8 s  f$ R3 P) e- Update and develop loaning policy and procedure
- Enforce FAVA’s standard of use policies where applicable

(STEP)
- Applicants must be unemployed and attending (or have recently completed) a post-

- Length of position: 10 consecutive weeks

- A passionate interest in film, video and media arts
- Strong organizational skills
# L3 W: l% z, d- Experience or training in library sciences preferred
% _1 {& f. L! O, r( E- Exceptional communication skills, written and verbal  
/ G) p6 _6 b3 \& z/ E- Strong team player abilities
