FAVA is currently looking for a Librarian to join the FAVA team for 10 weeks in the

support the production and exhibition of film, video and media artists from Northern

+ {* O3 ]7 v) r/ N  ~/ h/ YFAVA serves members with diverse backgrounds and levels of experience, ranging from
emerging, mid-range to established artists with an unwavering passion for film, video
* C, F+ d7 z. a! M& Oand media art. FAVA offers: a variety of workshops for artistic and skill development; is a
resource for production equipment and post-production facilities; hosts events and
screenings; and fosters and develops a dynamic media arts community in Northern
! h. _2 [( f; ^Alberta.

Job Description: The Librarian will report to the Executive Director and work with the
9 C% G. r- X1 X/ B( C& B6 T5 a3 RFAVA staff by organizing and updating two libraries: the film, video and digital library; as
. \0 }3 R7 K  I  @4 z+ twell as the script, magazine and book library.

4 i: v" a4 \6 I% i; q% KDuties:
! }9 R$ M. t# d8 F" O- Sort and catalogue the film, video and digital library
' {. ]  v8 U3 k- `) }4 c6 F" c- Sort and catalogue scripts, magazine and books
- Implement a catalogue template for future use
- Update and develop loaning policy and procedure
5 b8 O. [2 K9 R' _- Enforce FAVA’s standard of use policies where applicable

Details:
- Funding for this position is provided by the Summer Temporary Employment Program
(STEP)
+ e( ~  }1 D: |0 h- Applicants must be unemployed and attending (or have recently completed) a post-
  {& n1 B; q$ }4 Dsecondary training, university preferred
9 Z0 _4 O( }- O- Wage is $15.00 per hour, 35 hours per week
- Length of position: 10 consecutive weeks

% ^2 O" c# l( W' D+ P" Q* ^( }Qualifications: The ideal candidate will have:
- A passionate interest in film, video and media arts
+ A/ L# c$ r2 l& t0 W/ `- j- Strong organizational skills
- Experience or training in library sciences preferred
- Exceptional communication skills, written and verbal  
9 Z7 @: i4 W7 \- Strong team player abilities
- Interest in working for an arts organization that is governed by a Board of Directors
