summer of 2009. FAVA is a non-profit, charitable organization whose mandate is to

FAVA serves members with diverse backgrounds and levels of experience, ranging from ! u7 R5 u5 {& F
emerging, mid-range to established artists with an unwavering passion for film, video 3 t6 h2 j. }, h5 j; `
and media art. FAVA offers: a variety of workshops for artistic and skill development; is a / C9 V4 v/ P* Y+ P% K
resource for production equipment and post-production facilities; hosts events and
3 k+ D& n6 G! v: \! Fscreenings; and fosters and develops a dynamic media arts community in Northern

. |4 F1 ?6 N$ f$ MJob Description: The Librarian will report to the Executive Director and work with the * N$ B2 C5 X* `& y5 c0 c# Q9 V
FAVA staff by organizing and updating two libraries: the film, video and digital library; as ; i! D( i9 w' M4 x" B' b! w1 E3 y- j
well as the script, magazine and book library. 4 i9 B4 M' Z8 a$ t/ q7 u; P
" \3 g. M2 i1 w) a; j" ^8 x
Duties:
* P# t' d7 P* |, N# U( p- Sort and catalogue the film, video and digital library
; r' x! y& C7 e* P3 C- Sort and catalogue scripts, magazine and books
+ p7 g4 Q, t- u5 G6 q7 x, w! d/ _- Implement a catalogue template for future use 5 q# [# H8 n, w! i* R' ~' W
- Update and develop loaning policy and procedure
6 K6 y7 ~% n x8 K+ z- Enforce FAVA’s standard of use policies where applicable 9 C$ u4 \* R% T3 |" q7 Z

Qualifications: The ideal candidate will have:

- Experience or training in library sciences preferred 5 m# F% }$ {$ ]0 T. G5 f: n6 f* A% b1 o
- Exceptional communication skills, written and verbal 1 [; `0 ^/ R9 m
- Strong team player abilities ; z4 S; P8 [* V, H, d) s
- Interest in working for an arts organization that is governed by a Board of Directors
