FAVA is currently looking for a Librarian to join the FAVA team for 10 weeks in the
* d2 O; ]. a/ v* }/ Jsummer of 2009. FAVA is a non-profit, charitable organization whose mandate is to

/ C# \5 Z) Z ]; K& ?FAVA serves members with diverse backgrounds and levels of experience, ranging from

5 X+ F& c" N7 a; g' |% t- L( land media art. FAVA offers: a variety of workshops for artistic and skill development; is a 7 t2 c# b7 N. \+ l" c5 T4 N
resource for production equipment and post-production facilities; hosts events and 9 `# n* T( s, p7 j0 Q
screenings; and fosters and develops a dynamic media arts community in Northern * y# g7 h. I$ ~0 B1 Q

Job Description: The Librarian will report to the Executive Director and work with the 3 a% e8 c z8 B* q) N
FAVA staff by organizing and updating two libraries: the film, video and digital library; as
$ ~3 S1 i4 t% b# q- h- }% |well as the script, magazine and book library.

- Sort and catalogue scripts, magazine and books # Y. b! I ^5 U7 n2 {
- Implement a catalogue template for future use
4 i- ^" \/ A2 P6 X2 u6 Z- Update and develop loaning policy and procedure ! ^% O& x7 W9 M }4 p
- Enforce FAVA’s standard of use policies where applicable

- Applicants must be unemployed and attending (or have recently completed) a post-

- Experience or training in library sciences preferred
' z2 @9 O1 G6 W- o5 ]& I- Exceptional communication skills, written and verbal

. p2 T( c" F) S- Interest in working for an arts organization that is governed by a Board of Directors
