FAVA is currently looking for a Librarian to join the FAVA team for 10 weeks in the 5 K9 j( Y: @/ Q r! g8 x( ?, m) Q
summer of 2009. FAVA is a non-profit, charitable organization whose mandate is to
( e5 n, X; `, X# Vsupport the production and exhibition of film, video and media artists from Northern

FAVA serves members with diverse backgrounds and levels of experience, ranging from 0 j3 X. T, o* R0 H: z! ^; T2 s
emerging, mid-range to established artists with an unwavering passion for film, video
! M4 |1 p8 P& t. }" A* L& R& Fand media art. FAVA offers: a variety of workshops for artistic and skill development; is a % h5 B( c% ^/ i
resource for production equipment and post-production facilities; hosts events and - }+ K. L( c0 _
screenings; and fosters and develops a dynamic media arts community in Northern

Job Description: The Librarian will report to the Executive Director and work with the
1 w0 A3 _5 q6 k2 w% j% GFAVA staff by organizing and updating two libraries: the film, video and digital library; as
. t1 c" a$ i; Nwell as the script, magazine and book library.

) q- F: ^8 f! e+ R+ |- Sort and catalogue scripts, magazine and books
* {6 X. l( `6 y' ^" {: p& m4 G- Implement a catalogue template for future use
, c# ]$ @2 I- L+ A3 t4 r- Update and develop loaning policy and procedure

- Applicants must be unemployed and attending (or have recently completed) a post-% b8 ]) S& Q' w. I c$ J
secondary training, university preferred

- Length of position: 10 consecutive weeks

Qualifications: The ideal candidate will have:
8 Y7 l4 y V' p9 N- A passionate interest in film, video and media arts % T( P6 ^& v, A8 X1 x+ J8 |# N
- Strong organizational skills
6 T5 z9 F# q; E# G& j- Experience or training in library sciences preferred
$ P% Z# t8 s) g1 l- Exceptional communication skills, written and verbal
- A! S: K6 g6 ~- Strong team player abilities 8 H% e5 t# f0 c2 ^
- Interest in working for an arts organization that is governed by a Board of Directors
