3 z) E3 h9 A4 m. EFAVA is currently looking for a Librarian to join the FAVA team for 10 weeks in the
0 q+ Q. L- [1 W) @summer of 2009. FAVA is a non-profit, charitable organization whose mandate is to
$ E; H$ u; {' F" r2 w* ~support the production and exhibition of film, video and media artists from Northern
Alberta.

FAVA serves members with diverse backgrounds and levels of experience, ranging from
emerging, mid-range to established artists with an unwavering passion for film, video
and media art. FAVA offers: a variety of workshops for artistic and skill development; is a
resource for production equipment and post-production facilities; hosts events and
screenings; and fosters and develops a dynamic media arts community in Northern

Job Description: The Librarian will report to the Executive Director and work with the
FAVA staff by organizing and updating two libraries: the film, video and digital library; as
well as the script, magazine and book library.

Duties:
- Sort and catalogue the film, video and digital library
- Sort and catalogue scripts, magazine and books
& G, h# t- w& n1 T- Implement a catalogue template for future use
- Update and develop loaning policy and procedure
' F1 h3 p) D  Y6 x2 h- Enforce FAVA’s standard of use policies where applicable

Details:
- Funding for this position is provided by the Summer Temporary Employment Program
(STEP)
, O$ `  ]( F, _5 Z/ `9 v1 t- Applicants must be unemployed and attending (or have recently completed) a post-
secondary training, university preferred
- Wage is $15.00 per hour, 35 hours per week
- Length of position: 10 consecutive weeks

0 _) L9 R% ~% D- A passionate interest in film, video and media arts
; t1 j9 R- k! n& R/ _/ z- Strong organizational skills
6 o3 Y6 d& F& P- Experience or training in library sciences preferred
9 S( D% K( A5 k  L% w- Exceptional communication skills, written and verbal  
3 d; ^2 X+ E$ A9 [2 B3 \7 C- Strong team player abilities
6 }+ Y% Y1 e; k1 g2 G( d0 }. \* a- Interest in working for an arts organization that is governed by a Board of Directors
