FAVA is currently looking for a Librarian to join the FAVA team for 10 weeks in the 5 N; O: p- \- U- ~
summer of 2009. FAVA is a non-profit, charitable organization whose mandate is to
& r+ q( q% {+ Y C/ O4 vsupport the production and exhibition of film, video and media artists from Northern ) r) p6 x* O" ]! b$ Y* d3 W
Alberta.

emerging, mid-range to established artists with an unwavering passion for film, video
# [8 `, _6 }# C! W d& w6 m/ x7 Hand media art. FAVA offers: a variety of workshops for artistic and skill development; is a
0 f! J0 i5 |' Z. R5 z Mresource for production equipment and post-production facilities; hosts events and
9 j3 a% N+ V" b$ Q8 n- Yscreenings; and fosters and develops a dynamic media arts community in Northern

' `4 p+ e9 W2 ?0 f+ S+ `. FJob Description: The Librarian will report to the Executive Director and work with the
% U9 O5 n! ^( g! n" |( n% `0 S1 \FAVA staff by organizing and updating two libraries: the film, video and digital library; as # A4 B( f2 h, P5 Z
well as the script, magazine and book library.

: U c9 O% j+ q V- Sort and catalogue the film, video and digital library # c' q# U V" z7 }
- Sort and catalogue scripts, magazine and books $ x) g) ]6 o' U; O- I5 o
- Implement a catalogue template for future use
, I& U/ I2 M+ Y ?* p8 h- Update and develop loaning policy and procedure
" w' {) |5 A- r! v V- Enforce FAVA’s standard of use policies where applicable 9 V3 c+ _; J# }" T* c0 o6 ?% G1 M

- Applicants must be unemployed and attending (or have recently completed) a post-& X' p; ]* D* f3 L, R
secondary training, university preferred ! p7 @/ g4 O) P. A7 j2 T
- Wage is $15.00 per hour, 35 hours per week ) s: o) }3 ~9 u; h: V- k% C5 f
- Length of position: 10 consecutive weeks - F$ v) W8 |1 l- n8 O

- A passionate interest in film, video and media arts

- Experience or training in library sciences preferred
