FAVA is currently looking for a Librarian to join the FAVA team for 10 weeks in the , r* @/ r% O) n# `; D* o
summer of 2009. FAVA is a non-profit, charitable organization whose mandate is to
" C6 P& c% S$ ]* u, |support the production and exhibition of film, video and media artists from Northern

FAVA serves members with diverse backgrounds and levels of experience, ranging from - R$ j, Q4 F* n" l( ^: U
emerging, mid-range to established artists with an unwavering passion for film, video
" J* T! J ?6 d3 V7 c3 a; n# i' V `and media art. FAVA offers: a variety of workshops for artistic and skill development; is a
& p( \9 n/ U( _resource for production equipment and post-production facilities; hosts events and 1 @- V8 d7 j/ ]& M
screenings; and fosters and develops a dynamic media arts community in Northern
$ \& J- i' p* GAlberta.

Job Description: The Librarian will report to the Executive Director and work with the
* h: b: ?3 A/ U# Y9 G5 A9 m, dFAVA staff by organizing and updating two libraries: the film, video and digital library; as 9 H- x- W9 `% ]1 z/ p* P
well as the script, magazine and book library. ; h( ` G; o+ `8 _( p

Duties:
1 r$ c# O( U8 |; Q- Sort and catalogue the film, video and digital library . g9 H- U9 u7 ]! ]
- Sort and catalogue scripts, magazine and books
p& w+ P9 x1 K2 k% @4 h) j- Implement a catalogue template for future use
, B8 }# m: h- k$ C6 F" J- Update and develop loaning policy and procedure + K# j- |/ S& m Z, g
- Enforce FAVA’s standard of use policies where applicable

- Length of position: 10 consecutive weeks

Qualifications: The ideal candidate will have: - E1 Y9 g1 w/ c- i4 j1 w- K3 t! ~- f
- A passionate interest in film, video and media arts ! D; J; {# k/ y0 x- K9 [
- Strong organizational skills ) x9 k0 T! w8 m: y. A. I0 s
- Experience or training in library sciences preferred
