2 {2 o  u8 ?: c( _; Q3 d+ fFAVA is currently looking for a Librarian to join the FAVA team for 10 weeks in the
summer of 2009. FAVA is a non-profit, charitable organization whose mandate is to
* u0 X% t0 f0 m; C) Q. b& f* m2 Msupport the production and exhibition of film, video and media artists from Northern
% `6 |- n% B8 }Alberta.

FAVA serves members with diverse backgrounds and levels of experience, ranging from
emerging, mid-range to established artists with an unwavering passion for film, video
and media art. FAVA offers: a variety of workshops for artistic and skill development; is a
5 R4 Z, V4 m* c" ~( l" a6 Presource for production equipment and post-production facilities; hosts events and
; E4 {" k" M+ O% M* ?7 ]$ lscreenings; and fosters and develops a dynamic media arts community in Northern
Alberta.

Job Description: The Librarian will report to the Executive Director and work with the
FAVA staff by organizing and updating two libraries: the film, video and digital library; as
/ C. l  C3 h4 t6 P  E6 }% Owell as the script, magazine and book library.

Duties:
- Sort and catalogue the film, video and digital library
- Sort and catalogue scripts, magazine and books
- Implement a catalogue template for future use
7 N! w% Y- J, y2 f! v- Update and develop loaning policy and procedure
- Enforce FAVA’s standard of use policies where applicable

Details:
% ]$ v* \  c! \$ H- Funding for this position is provided by the Summer Temporary Employment Program
(STEP)
" q! c% \; H, _7 N- Applicants must be unemployed and attending (or have recently completed) a post-
secondary training, university preferred
- Wage is $15.00 per hour, 35 hours per week
& E. @# I, Y! Z- Length of position: 10 consecutive weeks

Qualifications: The ideal candidate will have:
: E. D" f& E+ N5 x$ m2 `4 G7 z* d- A passionate interest in film, video and media arts
- Strong organizational skills
& T0 k! Y/ [+ ~* }- Experience or training in library sciences preferred
- Exceptional communication skills, written and verbal  
- Strong team player abilities
& V. S4 q' J3 |. {9 p2 |- Interest in working for an arts organization that is governed by a Board of Directors
