  z6 [% P7 F- J5 X0 v1 E( Q3 VFAVA is currently looking for a Librarian to join the FAVA team for 10 weeks in the
; G3 v, l6 W% i' X/ H5 e% isummer of 2009. FAVA is a non-profit, charitable organization whose mandate is to
support the production and exhibition of film, video and media artists from Northern
Alberta.

7 z5 c2 n0 }! A; I9 j7 iFAVA serves members with diverse backgrounds and levels of experience, ranging from
emerging, mid-range to established artists with an unwavering passion for film, video
0 ?( _0 _& [2 Yand media art. FAVA offers: a variety of workshops for artistic and skill development; is a
resource for production equipment and post-production facilities; hosts events and
screenings; and fosters and develops a dynamic media arts community in Northern
Alberta.

( m* k; ~) H) I1 _1 T- @Job Description: The Librarian will report to the Executive Director and work with the
7 P$ o3 @5 }$ FFAVA staff by organizing and updating two libraries: the film, video and digital library; as
well as the script, magazine and book library.

Duties:
$ P) Q+ [) W# y' A1 e8 q( F7 j' u- Sort and catalogue the film, video and digital library
, X# H" g4 k8 J' ~: s5 y8 w- Sort and catalogue scripts, magazine and books
- Implement a catalogue template for future use
- Update and develop loaning policy and procedure
- Enforce FAVA’s standard of use policies where applicable

Details:
- Funding for this position is provided by the Summer Temporary Employment Program
% ^6 [5 ^; G1 T" ~+ g) S& ?(STEP)
- Applicants must be unemployed and attending (or have recently completed) a post-
! c( b! x) g: j% G6 J) E& Q+ gsecondary training, university preferred
- Wage is $15.00 per hour, 35 hours per week

Qualifications: The ideal candidate will have:
- A passionate interest in film, video and media arts
4 i; u8 h( l9 h1 l- Strong organizational skills
- Experience or training in library sciences preferred
- Exceptional communication skills, written and verbal  
- Strong team player abilities
