FAVA is currently looking for a Librarian to join the FAVA team for 10 weeks in the $ p) U2 k9 U9 n, t+ E \
summer of 2009. FAVA is a non-profit, charitable organization whose mandate is to 3 l- R8 c7 Q9 p& ^9 K! Y0 `
support the production and exhibition of film, video and media artists from Northern
/ S' t3 j9 s0 _" g" p* cAlberta.

FAVA serves members with diverse backgrounds and levels of experience, ranging from
; y0 W( Z6 i" _8 L$ B/ z& T. J; gemerging, mid-range to established artists with an unwavering passion for film, video 0 s7 e6 b0 W; O" y0 d' |
and media art. FAVA offers: a variety of workshops for artistic and skill development; is a
8 b) @5 X* ^+ M, G3 Xresource for production equipment and post-production facilities; hosts events and / l+ ^5 ?* R* J( f$ L
screenings; and fosters and develops a dynamic media arts community in Northern 7 H5 o) [$ t/ a9 Z% K
Alberta.

Job Description: The Librarian will report to the Executive Director and work with the 1 \- ~' w6 ?" K5 ]6 x
FAVA staff by organizing and updating two libraries: the film, video and digital library; as
! z V+ @7 S5 R4 ~, K" s! ]1 v, Uwell as the script, magazine and book library. 0 s( n5 M! y) a+ [

( E; j" }' P/ O) q1 R- ?- Sort and catalogue the film, video and digital library 2 r+ W( X; j. v Z0 ]. O
- Sort and catalogue scripts, magazine and books
4 [" ~- J/ `4 q0 Q" Y0 c4 ?( }- Implement a catalogue template for future use 9 y+ a ?. I" J& ^) q
- Update and develop loaning policy and procedure # ]6 z2 K1 _* d- G
- Enforce FAVA’s standard of use policies where applicable

- Applicants must be unemployed and attending (or have recently completed) a post-

- Length of position: 10 consecutive weeks

- A passionate interest in film, video and media arts

- Exceptional communication skills, written and verbal 5 v- k- G( J3 T' \
- Strong team player abilities
