FAVA is currently looking for a Librarian to join the FAVA team for 10 weeks in the
. e. p! i& ?. h7 Z8 e& u. psummer of 2009. FAVA is a non-profit, charitable organization whose mandate is to - ], O2 E8 |4 K F, }& ^6 `
support the production and exhibition of film, video and media artists from Northern ! k/ A; \& D9 J
Alberta.

F1 w( w+ k% w5 H9 Z& Z) K- _1 a/ u* iFAVA serves members with diverse backgrounds and levels of experience, ranging from 9 u4 @* r: n8 G* t7 V+ C
emerging, mid-range to established artists with an unwavering passion for film, video 5 F: M& ?2 I* q/ k; m2 }
and media art. FAVA offers: a variety of workshops for artistic and skill development; is a a6 |+ g6 H% I% }4 o( p$ l
resource for production equipment and post-production facilities; hosts events and M1 J" H; t$ p+ v
screenings; and fosters and develops a dynamic media arts community in Northern

, R3 p# o5 B# g [Job Description: The Librarian will report to the Executive Director and work with the
! y0 |" r& \0 C, qFAVA staff by organizing and updating two libraries: the film, video and digital library; as

# U7 N4 l- F8 E4 U" T- Sort and catalogue the film, video and digital library
% d, k/ }" L* r- Sort and catalogue scripts, magazine and books
! E3 j6 e- ^6 n7 w" j- Implement a catalogue template for future use
% j. m. D9 i' @$ ~* M& M- Update and develop loaning policy and procedure & z, a3 E6 u" I V4 }. m. c+ n8 c
- Enforce FAVA’s standard of use policies where applicable

- Applicants must be unemployed and attending (or have recently completed) a post-% T( F8 ^3 G2 n" e$ f- Y: l& O3 U
secondary training, university preferred
9 h/ [& ~$ J* b+ A7 K1 P- Wage is $15.00 per hour, 35 hours per week 5 W" G$ J3 n: j/ f

Qualifications: The ideal candidate will have: , h2 v/ u1 N _; N: _5 @* c( G
- A passionate interest in film, video and media arts 0 ?4 Q* f7 ^6 Y& l+ Y: [( ]
- Strong organizational skills

- Exceptional communication skills, written and verbal 9 q4 q: q$ [* ^' z1 z- G7 _) T& L
- Strong team player abilities
