/ \0 w* q% p8 d# W  n0 MFAVA is currently looking for a Librarian to join the FAVA team for 10 weeks in the
" D8 W# W; w' _summer of 2009. FAVA is a non-profit, charitable organization whose mandate is to
+ J) W1 X* x4 x$ c  ^support the production and exhibition of film, video and media artists from Northern
* Z0 {" f' F. ]5 P5 s+ M4 AAlberta.

FAVA serves members with diverse backgrounds and levels of experience, ranging from
3 t# O' j+ y0 X# w% N& Kemerging, mid-range to established artists with an unwavering passion for film, video
/ d6 A% P. w" {: D# u4 r4 Fand media art. FAVA offers: a variety of workshops for artistic and skill development; is a
4 A, v) Q( G; q: y  n! \1 O9 v) \resource for production equipment and post-production facilities; hosts events and
screenings; and fosters and develops a dynamic media arts community in Northern
Alberta.

$ Q, x, ~7 T0 m2 BJob Description: The Librarian will report to the Executive Director and work with the
FAVA staff by organizing and updating two libraries: the film, video and digital library; as
well as the script, magazine and book library.

- Sort and catalogue the film, video and digital library
9 u) I3 m! S' C  {2 }" e7 W- Sort and catalogue scripts, magazine and books
  `" j7 X& u1 n: M% }- Implement a catalogue template for future use
- Update and develop loaning policy and procedure
- Enforce FAVA’s standard of use policies where applicable

8 t4 X, {& _! M7 T  \- Applicants must be unemployed and attending (or have recently completed) a post-
secondary training, university preferred
5 {3 c( ?, Y2 s, g5 Q2 ~# R" o- Wage is $15.00 per hour, 35 hours per week
- Length of position: 10 consecutive weeks

Qualifications: The ideal candidate will have:
- A passionate interest in film, video and media arts
- Strong organizational skills
7 M" l) h! l* g$ m- Experience or training in library sciences preferred
/ d8 e% Q7 z, J2 e2 N+ A- Exceptional communication skills, written and verbal  
5 G5 a2 T9 L* b& _* C8 K8 x- Strong team player abilities
- Interest in working for an arts organization that is governed by a Board of Directors
