FAVA is currently looking for a Librarian to join the FAVA team for 10 weeks in the & n: m6 N2 c0 a
summer of 2009. FAVA is a non-profit, charitable organization whose mandate is to 3 z5 F3 I$ P& o X
support the production and exhibition of film, video and media artists from Northern
# n6 k+ Q/ r+ e% N4 d E& C' XAlberta.

9 }6 C& B, W+ X4 m6 P3 QFAVA serves members with diverse backgrounds and levels of experience, ranging from
2 w1 c# t3 C6 `9 z9 Remerging, mid-range to established artists with an unwavering passion for film, video 2 l) W! x" c$ y3 b- J
and media art. FAVA offers: a variety of workshops for artistic and skill development; is a 7 @- C; l9 Z" n0 L
resource for production equipment and post-production facilities; hosts events and 8 r3 U! G5 _8 q [( a5 b
screenings; and fosters and develops a dynamic media arts community in Northern 4 H9 m( b9 o' `5 u e8 v4 k" Z
Alberta.

FAVA staff by organizing and updating two libraries: the film, video and digital library; as $ s3 d* C/ g" M! k* Y
well as the script, magazine and book library. / Q. m2 ? l- s2 L

Duties: " _$ R1 Y; O) `+ V+ q+ d% r+ r( r
- Sort and catalogue the film, video and digital library ' Q0 g( ]+ a9 ~; d! k |; x" i3 j- ~
- Sort and catalogue scripts, magazine and books
2 v2 U' k# A$ {1 h- Implement a catalogue template for future use
' D; Q+ d1 Q4 D! H; w x- Update and develop loaning policy and procedure + P" y; C7 g4 O5 g) m& `/ A
- Enforce FAVA’s standard of use policies where applicable ) d, |, S! {8 g! u

" w) s) r/ k' @7 x! ~4 W- Experience or training in library sciences preferred
& _2 e4 ^+ i+ x% K4 O- Exceptional communication skills, written and verbal
