/ C6 ~0 w9 G7 E' G7 a+ \7 T3 oFAVA is currently looking for a Librarian to join the FAVA team for 10 weeks in the
summer of 2009. FAVA is a non-profit, charitable organization whose mandate is to
8 c, u% I. x; h. ]support the production and exhibition of film, video and media artists from Northern
Alberta.

FAVA serves members with diverse backgrounds and levels of experience, ranging from
emerging, mid-range to established artists with an unwavering passion for film, video
9 T0 V3 r' E( r- j  Wand media art. FAVA offers: a variety of workshops for artistic and skill development; is a
resource for production equipment and post-production facilities; hosts events and
6 v: S3 Z  F& t: f4 s2 L3 o7 k  t$ jscreenings; and fosters and develops a dynamic media arts community in Northern
Alberta.

Job Description: The Librarian will report to the Executive Director and work with the
. J* y2 W: O4 l- r& S; CFAVA staff by organizing and updating two libraries: the film, video and digital library; as
well as the script, magazine and book library.

3 A1 p9 K; m" r6 _/ `8 E- Sort and catalogue the film, video and digital library
4 h" A! n7 ^' \* F5 {" w- Sort and catalogue scripts, magazine and books
+ D8 Y- d/ d' I9 @8 D. x- Implement a catalogue template for future use
- Update and develop loaning policy and procedure
- Enforce FAVA’s standard of use policies where applicable

(STEP)
- Applicants must be unemployed and attending (or have recently completed) a post-
& l/ U( }( n2 `8 E2 P7 W" Tsecondary training, university preferred
6 J+ W# J1 W1 K; d- Wage is $15.00 per hour, 35 hours per week
& W/ p+ N' S5 R1 q7 s& t! F, p- Length of position: 10 consecutive weeks

' k* G- y4 G; m5 C2 q2 N" uQualifications: The ideal candidate will have:
- A passionate interest in film, video and media arts
" ^3 h/ G! e3 M# m- Strong organizational skills
3 X& W: f9 S; |: |& [; M, O- Experience or training in library sciences preferred
- Exceptional communication skills, written and verbal  
- Strong team player abilities
