. Q( E; J/ D9 r; g! nFAVA is currently looking for a Librarian to join the FAVA team for 10 weeks in the
summer of 2009. FAVA is a non-profit, charitable organization whose mandate is to
" O- J( }, U% ^support the production and exhibition of film, video and media artists from Northern
, i* c7 K0 S6 p0 {1 ^4 GAlberta.

6 T* e1 ]9 h" e! m" C0 y; i8 z! _FAVA serves members with diverse backgrounds and levels of experience, ranging from
9 y2 ], m1 _" D* O/ xemerging, mid-range to established artists with an unwavering passion for film, video
and media art. FAVA offers: a variety of workshops for artistic and skill development; is a
% Z0 A1 y/ o) N5 _. q% w$ Oresource for production equipment and post-production facilities; hosts events and
. d8 F. i  B+ E3 C5 o$ gscreenings; and fosters and develops a dynamic media arts community in Northern
: d2 e6 M7 ~, u1 HAlberta.

7 T6 B. M" x* m/ |( ^Job Description: The Librarian will report to the Executive Director and work with the
FAVA staff by organizing and updating two libraries: the film, video and digital library; as
) ~! J  Y6 [. ^. \( K& C( Zwell as the script, magazine and book library.

Duties:
- Sort and catalogue the film, video and digital library
- Sort and catalogue scripts, magazine and books
- Implement a catalogue template for future use
# o, Z2 E7 r- y5 m- Update and develop loaning policy and procedure
* Q8 K# s7 z, r2 e7 n8 W5 D- Enforce FAVA’s standard of use policies where applicable
# m! N; D: K* s. }5 y8 b3 N
Details:
! t/ K" q0 @4 `4 J2 t5 g  T- Funding for this position is provided by the Summer Temporary Employment Program

- Applicants must be unemployed and attending (or have recently completed) a post-
+ Z6 X$ }5 R& ~  j) J3 psecondary training, university preferred
- Wage is $15.00 per hour, 35 hours per week
6 R, |  C& z! E* n- Length of position: 10 consecutive weeks

- ?1 Z2 Q! f9 [& K3 G) ~Qualifications: The ideal candidate will have:
3 l; m; ~" L; n- A passionate interest in film, video and media arts
  C3 b: L) U% @$ \' {, p- a' y% y' l/ {- Strong organizational skills
- Experience or training in library sciences preferred
* u9 y8 y/ [5 N% b" X4 ~- Exceptional communication skills, written and verbal  
5 Z# }( z  [! q3 F. F- Strong team player abilities
- Interest in working for an arts organization that is governed by a Board of Directors
