; ` N) s+ m5 F( Ssummer of 2009. FAVA is a non-profit, charitable organization whose mandate is to
/ j- I% Y% \6 W- K& C) ^support the production and exhibition of film, video and media artists from Northern

/ a0 O. X6 i, K) nand media art. FAVA offers: a variety of workshops for artistic and skill development; is a & a9 @' ^ p7 }
resource for production equipment and post-production facilities; hosts events and
4 f1 ]" `8 C% F! Q$ Q3 }0 J1 fscreenings; and fosters and develops a dynamic media arts community in Northern ; Z0 [0 c' t' c4 }8 F% a

Job Description: The Librarian will report to the Executive Director and work with the 1 I5 o3 w: E; H; [ F
FAVA staff by organizing and updating two libraries: the film, video and digital library; as
1 G$ P1 R5 N# }- ~well as the script, magazine and book library.

Duties: : G6 z) a$ t4 `- D# K
- Sort and catalogue the film, video and digital library
" @' ]- m. l6 y8 s, J" {7 d- L- Sort and catalogue scripts, magazine and books
, J$ _& w, C/ }/ Z% K- Implement a catalogue template for future use " {1 [/ u5 I y5 G0 {! S
- Update and develop loaning policy and procedure . z2 L' I# h, I% }' L: T
- Enforce FAVA’s standard of use policies where applicable

- Applicants must be unemployed and attending (or have recently completed) a post-2 J F, C# P- g, q
secondary training, university preferred * J1 t# J; v! m0 D. B/ v# Y' ^
- Wage is $15.00 per hour, 35 hours per week

- A passionate interest in film, video and media arts

- Experience or training in library sciences preferred
1 x% B( d& ?2 K2 E; Z9 _% R5 n7 E- Exceptional communication skills, written and verbal
