FAVA is currently looking for a Librarian to join the FAVA team for 10 weeks in the
) r* u4 R3 {0 b# p1 S# C4 Xsummer of 2009. FAVA is a non-profit, charitable organization whose mandate is to / E& r, x. o$ F) ]( s8 c
support the production and exhibition of film, video and media artists from Northern
& \0 @* l* n7 a& [; W( t; t4 _Alberta. 8 M" F# V+ Z9 R2 s2 Y# E
! @" i& A4 a7 o8 ?$ e5 w# TFAVA serves members with diverse backgrounds and levels of experience, ranging from
* |. E8 q, R. ^7 t- W" semerging, mid-range to established artists with an unwavering passion for film, video 2 @6 O& @+ l/ X2 @7 r$ H
and media art. FAVA offers: a variety of workshops for artistic and skill development; is a
" v# K" i3 U* z% o5 C9 _# w; nresource for production equipment and post-production facilities; hosts events and
3 O& q1 D! o& u4 o/ h2 X/ N: zscreenings; and fosters and develops a dynamic media arts community in Northern

Job Description: The Librarian will report to the Executive Director and work with the / g w8 P& i/ o& z% _0 X
FAVA staff by organizing and updating two libraries: the film, video and digital library; as 8 [4 Z# F2 F+ O. i
well as the script, magazine and book library.

Duties:
, d }/ c/ X3 ~: I! }( P- Sort and catalogue the film, video and digital library 4 i9 b1 @: T1 g. G
- Sort and catalogue scripts, magazine and books $ a* A0 o, g: f4 w9 a* T$ ~+ o
- Implement a catalogue template for future use 6 E4 H% N. s y+ @
- Update and develop loaning policy and procedure 3 N; R' B; l" S0 e8 |
- Enforce FAVA’s standard of use policies where applicable 3 d$ M' ?% Z U& m6 J8 g

secondary training, university preferred # p1 j3 k- A$ x/ Y! j
- Wage is $15.00 per hour, 35 hours per week

- Experience or training in library sciences preferred

- Strong team player abilities
