! k6 X3 ^" @4 h# EFAVA is currently looking for a Librarian to join the FAVA team for 10 weeks in the
  _$ g8 {( {& t7 r4 `  Tsummer of 2009. FAVA is a non-profit, charitable organization whose mandate is to
support the production and exhibition of film, video and media artists from Northern
. z- w  q% _9 H; G8 ^6 IAlberta.

FAVA serves members with diverse backgrounds and levels of experience, ranging from
, @' [8 U7 e7 q# v' r( }emerging, mid-range to established artists with an unwavering passion for film, video
5 X( S" ^) g4 C1 |0 w$ @+ \7 h; `$ gand media art. FAVA offers: a variety of workshops for artistic and skill development; is a
/ K1 P; H* I5 l& _  b# \/ Oresource for production equipment and post-production facilities; hosts events and
; y1 y* p. X9 _" M4 Z! n" zscreenings; and fosters and develops a dynamic media arts community in Northern
' w# {5 `: `( sAlberta.

Job Description: The Librarian will report to the Executive Director and work with the
FAVA staff by organizing and updating two libraries: the film, video and digital library; as
well as the script, magazine and book library.

Duties:
- Sort and catalogue the film, video and digital library
/ }; B+ [. A: y0 X- M7 L; T& W- Sort and catalogue scripts, magazine and books
- Implement a catalogue template for future use
- Update and develop loaning policy and procedure
+ M5 M* l; {8 S- M9 q8 A+ ~- Enforce FAVA’s standard of use policies where applicable

Details:
6 T8 x8 k9 m, t- Funding for this position is provided by the Summer Temporary Employment Program
(STEP)
- Applicants must be unemployed and attending (or have recently completed) a post-
6 r$ I; V- Q% T1 H7 jsecondary training, university preferred
, q% R& @% R$ |1 O; j- Wage is $15.00 per hour, 35 hours per week
. r* n1 E: A2 v1 R( E9 A' ?- Length of position: 10 consecutive weeks

- A passionate interest in film, video and media arts
- Strong organizational skills
% c3 D+ j4 i' x, t: c/ s% o- Experience or training in library sciences preferred
- Exceptional communication skills, written and verbal  
& n- x& x" h: j- `8 Z- Strong team player abilities
