FAVA is currently looking for a Librarian to join the FAVA team for 10 weeks in the ) f3 l6 a, m! S; }3 r3 [& E& h
summer of 2009. FAVA is a non-profit, charitable organization whose mandate is to
5 a7 j/ e2 o; Z! O7 F/ v3 Isupport the production and exhibition of film, video and media artists from Northern ' _" v/ Z) m; F+ {

FAVA serves members with diverse backgrounds and levels of experience, ranging from
9 W: [' n) U" d# Kemerging, mid-range to established artists with an unwavering passion for film, video , K. K' u+ x$ ]
and media art. FAVA offers: a variety of workshops for artistic and skill development; is a
6 r; o! ]0 u6 h2 Oresource for production equipment and post-production facilities; hosts events and
3 L+ B; G, I7 x, \" @screenings; and fosters and develops a dynamic media arts community in Northern

Job Description: The Librarian will report to the Executive Director and work with the 6 d6 I A% U/ w7 k
FAVA staff by organizing and updating two libraries: the film, video and digital library; as 6 J* s- g& {: r. q3 @
well as the script, magazine and book library.

Duties:
3 j* D) W+ L8 g0 `5 E. Y/ {2 X8 z- Sort and catalogue the film, video and digital library 3 p2 ~, R! K! p) H% `* c1 v6 j- ], d( z
- Sort and catalogue scripts, magazine and books
7 v1 T- U/ F; ]' a# {- F- Implement a catalogue template for future use % e: _& c1 P3 F" Y& ?
- Update and develop loaning policy and procedure 2 t, K# d# O! _
- Enforce FAVA’s standard of use policies where applicable - P9 J- \$ T2 I/ Y

- Funding for this position is provided by the Summer Temporary Employment Program [" U- J! S9 e: o/ K

- Applicants must be unemployed and attending (or have recently completed) a post-: `& c; y( s! J Y- p3 ^9 |4 p
secondary training, university preferred - ^2 r& R8 G2 s9 G0 ^. D" ]
- Wage is $15.00 per hour, 35 hours per week , Y( U' e# D8 ^) {6 O
- Length of position: 10 consecutive weeks

- Strong organizational skills

- Exceptional communication skills, written and verbal

- Interest in working for an arts organization that is governed by a Board of Directors
