summer of 2009. FAVA is a non-profit, charitable organization whose mandate is to
5 W# N; I \' c+ O! Asupport the production and exhibition of film, video and media artists from Northern

FAVA serves members with diverse backgrounds and levels of experience, ranging from & T8 ]2 f5 \6 ` e& T
emerging, mid-range to established artists with an unwavering passion for film, video
# U5 `% b; X3 O( e, Sand media art. FAVA offers: a variety of workshops for artistic and skill development; is a ' }1 g4 G ?/ H; o- B w
resource for production equipment and post-production facilities; hosts events and
; k0 D5 E$ J* m# W4 D" ?& I$ ^- wscreenings; and fosters and develops a dynamic media arts community in Northern

7 c0 o7 H* K3 H0 Z& D gJob Description: The Librarian will report to the Executive Director and work with the ; B' [6 C/ y7 X/ j
FAVA staff by organizing and updating two libraries: the film, video and digital library; as
* {1 O( B/ e, ~! y% Pwell as the script, magazine and book library. : l" G$ v9 ~. d) p0 t

Duties:
' e% c: S9 f" D+ F* E9 ^- Sort and catalogue the film, video and digital library
# l) [ j/ k" N# Q- Sort and catalogue scripts, magazine and books
( Q* v& j8 N% N' V% H0 B- Implement a catalogue template for future use & l0 M& C+ f* _; u
- Update and develop loaning policy and procedure ! f' Y' a2 c! `/ R
- Enforce FAVA’s standard of use policies where applicable 5 a1 x+ E8 z. n, C$ R( S4 Y+ D5 Z

- Applicants must be unemployed and attending (or have recently completed) a post-% }9 E, N) Q6 W# J* C% ~0 F
secondary training, university preferred 3 {6 W" p! O3 c! L. Q5 p0 o
- Wage is $15.00 per hour, 35 hours per week

Qualifications: The ideal candidate will have: ( J% W$ m! ]/ z
- A passionate interest in film, video and media arts
0 J) A( S. e6 ]4 F# B! J- Strong organizational skills
5 H, Q- o/ h, @ T! ]- Experience or training in library sciences preferred
: ~/ n" D+ T ^6 I, R, a& R- Exceptional communication skills, written and verbal
