) \. u6 d7 Z$ v4 Bsummer of 2009. FAVA is a non-profit, charitable organization whose mandate is to
support the production and exhibition of film, video and media artists from Northern
$ S/ {' _" K3 w0 W* v) V. a# J- D1 iAlberta.

- {4 c1 _3 W6 D! H, K0 NFAVA serves members with diverse backgrounds and levels of experience, ranging from
8 P( t. X# _, W- A! Temerging, mid-range to established artists with an unwavering passion for film, video
! |: G+ _+ H8 X' i2 L1 U. t6 b$ oand media art. FAVA offers: a variety of workshops for artistic and skill development; is a
resource for production equipment and post-production facilities; hosts events and
screenings; and fosters and develops a dynamic media arts community in Northern
Alberta.

Job Description: The Librarian will report to the Executive Director and work with the
- R0 e+ D8 M2 m) D) k6 cFAVA staff by organizing and updating two libraries: the film, video and digital library; as
well as the script, magazine and book library.

+ m" X! Y  r, e$ l4 w  X: [( M* q; ?( EDuties:
- Sort and catalogue the film, video and digital library
7 `- J& s+ E  r) s" ~- Sort and catalogue scripts, magazine and books
- Implement a catalogue template for future use
- Update and develop loaning policy and procedure
- Enforce FAVA’s standard of use policies where applicable

0 f# z3 Y* F+ V0 d) ~- Funding for this position is provided by the Summer Temporary Employment Program
(STEP)
2 p3 @8 B* Q! i& P- Applicants must be unemployed and attending (or have recently completed) a post-
secondary training, university preferred
% F3 ]4 N. T+ J4 K+ I/ ?( ~- Wage is $15.00 per hour, 35 hours per week
- Length of position: 10 consecutive weeks

3 m7 @6 j% p* b3 B" F0 Q& dQualifications: The ideal candidate will have:
- A passionate interest in film, video and media arts
* h2 [' a# j: A( s+ o1 k4 Y- Strong organizational skills
5 M. T$ N. S  ^5 U( ^. ]- Experience or training in library sciences preferred
- Exceptional communication skills, written and verbal  
1 O1 }  X0 a/ ^" M- Strong team player abilities
6 W* n% L) r- D; f- [. |. p- Interest in working for an arts organization that is governed by a Board of Directors
