# v* V( S0 ^+ S8 j# R \summer of 2009. FAVA is a non-profit, charitable organization whose mandate is to
$ X- D2 J% A) ]1 V hsupport the production and exhibition of film, video and media artists from Northern $ n8 J8 @; z3 e
Alberta.

7 ^$ ~, s# e* D9 @9 T0 eFAVA serves members with diverse backgrounds and levels of experience, ranging from
0 q$ x1 r5 r: [/ n4 pemerging, mid-range to established artists with an unwavering passion for film, video
% S" m$ K, r {* ~8 Eand media art. FAVA offers: a variety of workshops for artistic and skill development; is a
+ t8 }# Q& R" T6 ^ nresource for production equipment and post-production facilities; hosts events and
5 H8 K B# d \; Pscreenings; and fosters and develops a dynamic media arts community in Northern

" e- A/ F' O# pJob Description: The Librarian will report to the Executive Director and work with the
# i& e1 l5 L% p1 n) H. NFAVA staff by organizing and updating two libraries: the film, video and digital library; as . h# Y& l0 Y+ V( Q
well as the script, magazine and book library.

7 X7 z3 _# H( U( F- Sort and catalogue the film, video and digital library 7 C4 B. o- C2 z/ a2 x
- Sort and catalogue scripts, magazine and books 4 ~. c. R4 m+ U F9 Y% S: N
- Implement a catalogue template for future use , u6 b# a# G! }$ W5 `
- Update and develop loaning policy and procedure
8 K( n# K- Q& T* b- J- Enforce FAVA’s standard of use policies where applicable

- Applicants must be unemployed and attending (or have recently completed) a post-

- Wage is $15.00 per hour, 35 hours per week

Qualifications: The ideal candidate will have: ; c) l0 C# Q- O$ }; t6 j# e$ q
- A passionate interest in film, video and media arts
* \2 \! D6 A% H, [9 z- Strong organizational skills
9 ?2 m/ ^2 b8 [+ [5 m) T+ a- Experience or training in library sciences preferred 6 B: B! X1 O5 u$ `$ Z
- Exceptional communication skills, written and verbal : ~+ Q8 O3 t3 d
- Strong team player abilities
