/ K) H% w& u2 Z5 eFAVA is currently looking for a Librarian to join the FAVA team for 10 weeks in the
% `! t9 g! A2 W+ i+ l4 Ksummer of 2009. FAVA is a non-profit, charitable organization whose mandate is to - ^7 I4 G6 F; H) x6 G
support the production and exhibition of film, video and media artists from Northern
/ v" t7 b( l* B5 \4 U! UAlberta.

FAVA serves members with diverse backgrounds and levels of experience, ranging from 1 {2 W1 J% z0 h5 L: U5 Z
emerging, mid-range to established artists with an unwavering passion for film, video : s' D+ a& o; M( w- J8 U: [- n3 T
and media art. FAVA offers: a variety of workshops for artistic and skill development; is a i. {4 D, |+ |1 m# [" ~
resource for production equipment and post-production facilities; hosts events and 2 p1 k c7 u+ g" M
screenings; and fosters and develops a dynamic media arts community in Northern
* m# ~3 V. m+ t# ZAlberta.

Job Description: The Librarian will report to the Executive Director and work with the 5 k9 X- H! f/ I" U; g) B% o
FAVA staff by organizing and updating two libraries: the film, video and digital library; as , H8 g A6 Y3 F" P, [
well as the script, magazine and book library. ! }& h$ G0 P3 a
# B( N) A# ]" S5 y8 L
Duties:
+ Y1 ?/ V8 s1 ]5 q+ z6 d- Sort and catalogue the film, video and digital library $ u0 T' s9 ^( p: n2 I6 i
- Sort and catalogue scripts, magazine and books
( w3 }, H S' f5 S) T2 Q3 R- Implement a catalogue template for future use
" P: A& ?6 y+ y. n- Update and develop loaning policy and procedure
# O2 l$ |: ^5 t2 b5 F1 o' C6 }6 Y. f- Enforce FAVA’s standard of use policies where applicable

- Applicants must be unemployed and attending (or have recently completed) a post-

- Wage is $15.00 per hour, 35 hours per week ' q: F" Z4 A9 p
- Length of position: 10 consecutive weeks 2 T# e# A8 P5 Y0 ~9 e8 R8 E( @

Qualifications: The ideal candidate will have:
1 p/ t" s1 R/ g# `3 ^6 L& z8 H9 P- A passionate interest in film, video and media arts
& [& @% ]( _4 J9 ~' {+ G- }% T- Strong organizational skills
( U/ @9 G0 `, b" ]* ~. S- Experience or training in library sciences preferred
* ?3 G! I1 A& W' _" a3 ]- Exceptional communication skills, written and verbal ) }) K3 R: J9 U1 j+ p
- Strong team player abilities
5 x, E' N6 c3 w P: P+ U, T- Interest in working for an arts organization that is governed by a Board of Directors
