& a2 e% N1 `* j, IFAVA is currently looking for a Librarian to join the FAVA team for 10 weeks in the
4 q5 X& j2 `! H( lsummer of 2009. FAVA is a non-profit, charitable organization whose mandate is to
support the production and exhibition of film, video and media artists from Northern
5 m% ]. u% e1 ^! J6 l& k# dAlberta.

$ A; X/ m8 H( ]0 O' _! qFAVA serves members with diverse backgrounds and levels of experience, ranging from
emerging, mid-range to established artists with an unwavering passion for film, video
and media art. FAVA offers: a variety of workshops for artistic and skill development; is a
resource for production equipment and post-production facilities; hosts events and
9 b: ], B4 _+ m" Lscreenings; and fosters and develops a dynamic media arts community in Northern
Alberta.

Job Description: The Librarian will report to the Executive Director and work with the
FAVA staff by organizing and updating two libraries: the film, video and digital library; as
well as the script, magazine and book library.

& B  Y% g% K$ _* A) e* V$ X+ UDuties:
- Sort and catalogue the film, video and digital library
$ U" v. @4 X, a5 g5 G% s9 L- Sort and catalogue scripts, magazine and books
9 s/ \3 }) s3 R" O" V# O6 o% q- Implement a catalogue template for future use
; C# |3 M" i6 d& j4 f4 @) A3 k- Update and develop loaning policy and procedure
- Enforce FAVA’s standard of use policies where applicable

Details:
- Funding for this position is provided by the Summer Temporary Employment Program

; e% ?; A3 }& O, j7 U( }- Applicants must be unemployed and attending (or have recently completed) a post-
secondary training, university preferred
- Wage is $15.00 per hour, 35 hours per week
- Length of position: 10 consecutive weeks

( {' `6 x; i' j- KQualifications: The ideal candidate will have:
- A passionate interest in film, video and media arts
- Strong organizational skills
- Experience or training in library sciences preferred
- Exceptional communication skills, written and verbal
