FAVA is currently looking for a Librarian to join the FAVA team for 10 weeks in the
& s# o, o# U, j+ Tsummer of 2009. FAVA is a non-profit, charitable organization whose mandate is to
$ q9 K5 F) R0 f/ k5 D1 ^support the production and exhibition of film, video and media artists from Northern

FAVA serves members with diverse backgrounds and levels of experience, ranging from
3 X8 U+ W* M, ]8 Memerging, mid-range to established artists with an unwavering passion for film, video
' S' }2 t4 |" Y- Cand media art. FAVA offers: a variety of workshops for artistic and skill development; is a 1 h. X& A# a- H3 J( P
resource for production equipment and post-production facilities; hosts events and ; a4 S- M) P/ t9 \2 F0 [
screenings; and fosters and develops a dynamic media arts community in Northern

4 n/ f5 i8 f+ T- N/ w" d3 DJob Description: The Librarian will report to the Executive Director and work with the 5 Y; j1 a: p1 L) e0 o4 x# J c# g
FAVA staff by organizing and updating two libraries: the film, video and digital library; as # O6 n& ` T4 I9 O. Z
well as the script, magazine and book library.

- Sort and catalogue the film, video and digital library ; j' T9 Q' n2 i3 p6 Q( T. e* C
- Sort and catalogue scripts, magazine and books & K: X; \. e9 C* N5 ]: p' g# W4 ] ~
- Implement a catalogue template for future use
3 b. o$ r7 D: Z- Update and develop loaning policy and procedure
S$ k9 H; m' N( I4 @) d5 l0 x- Enforce FAVA’s standard of use policies where applicable ) R" l) x( A+ N' Z5 K

secondary training, university preferred

Qualifications: The ideal candidate will have: ) B$ l5 @% x" V9 s; @
- A passionate interest in film, video and media arts * v( c! U/ x4 t! L: O; |
- Strong organizational skills % @2 q+ z3 Z5 \6 R/ Y: h( k
- Experience or training in library sciences preferred
