summer of 2009. FAVA is a non-profit, charitable organization whose mandate is to 4 {2 G5 T% K( M% \
support the production and exhibition of film, video and media artists from Northern $ D }' V; j0 B9 j- F, c( ]. @$ J

# F t+ j+ U \3 ~FAVA serves members with diverse backgrounds and levels of experience, ranging from 7 F! L5 e' {3 e' s A0 v
emerging, mid-range to established artists with an unwavering passion for film, video 6 _$ T* J6 Z# h! Z0 c$ z B
and media art. FAVA offers: a variety of workshops for artistic and skill development; is a * I1 H. G, m$ v }9 A1 S
resource for production equipment and post-production facilities; hosts events and " l* Q9 p1 T9 \" l* A$ `' m6 ~
screenings; and fosters and develops a dynamic media arts community in Northern 7 J5 I3 V- C# }" h
Alberta.

Job Description: The Librarian will report to the Executive Director and work with the 3 b2 z6 Q$ w" Y6 w6 u) O O
FAVA staff by organizing and updating two libraries: the film, video and digital library; as " R% r6 Q5 a8 h$ K
well as the script, magazine and book library.

- Sort and catalogue the film, video and digital library
: L/ D& C$ g# @6 e0 g- Sort and catalogue scripts, magazine and books 0 L# P4 m& p+ Y3 |0 ^
- Implement a catalogue template for future use
% v3 I- F$ @) l1 |, L( k- Update and develop loaning policy and procedure 0 i( `" n% t0 T( u4 S9 k' L
- Enforce FAVA’s standard of use policies where applicable

- Applicants must be unemployed and attending (or have recently completed) a post-( u; D' v2 o2 q6 _9 F' J, D! g
secondary training, university preferred / K; O3 Y9 a( X1 Z+ r+ A) {8 q
- Wage is $15.00 per hour, 35 hours per week

Qualifications: The ideal candidate will have:
" W3 n' T2 d" E! P- A passionate interest in film, video and media arts 1 Y/ ?9 [: x# x/ v
- Strong organizational skills
/ M: y/ K( y; l$ Z( v- Experience or training in library sciences preferred

- Strong team player abilities 0 i" \8 C$ ^/ i2 L3 {" ^
- Interest in working for an arts organization that is governed by a Board of Directors
