FAVA is currently looking for a Librarian to join the FAVA team for 10 weeks in the * N! b. a! ]" C9 e* B# V# y! Q
summer of 2009. FAVA is a non-profit, charitable organization whose mandate is to ) y5 i( E/ l% N: E" R2 J2 W
support the production and exhibition of film, video and media artists from Northern
( G/ L4 B7 F% B* i/ V2 IAlberta.

FAVA serves members with diverse backgrounds and levels of experience, ranging from
% i+ _: R" A# Z( |& U/ Bemerging, mid-range to established artists with an unwavering passion for film, video
) @+ l& `) c% [! K7 Zand media art. FAVA offers: a variety of workshops for artistic and skill development; is a # C/ u7 `* C+ v& |; C7 i" }$ r" l
resource for production equipment and post-production facilities; hosts events and $ C0 Z) G. e n! p0 |
screenings; and fosters and develops a dynamic media arts community in Northern

Job Description: The Librarian will report to the Executive Director and work with the & I9 b0 ~9 c6 {; l- g3 |6 S
FAVA staff by organizing and updating two libraries: the film, video and digital library; as & n" Y/ R' ~9 T x5 `
well as the script, magazine and book library. 8 |: e1 l! T1 R' S0 Q- |1 |) M! ~+ E

- Sort and catalogue the film, video and digital library
& l* h# I d- v- Sort and catalogue scripts, magazine and books 6 |" Y8 I7 t% E9 o
- Implement a catalogue template for future use : h/ Z9 e2 J- ]' K9 c1 Y$ }
- Update and develop loaning policy and procedure 5 _2 ]. v+ T. B- {
- Enforce FAVA’s standard of use policies where applicable

- Wage is $15.00 per hour, 35 hours per week

0 o; t, z4 s1 w8 ~5 k! y1 y- Experience or training in library sciences preferred + a- t0 @: g/ o
- Exceptional communication skills, written and verbal

- Interest in working for an arts organization that is governed by a Board of Directors
