FAVA is currently looking for a Librarian to join the FAVA team for 10 weeks in the 6 b) v' W9 R9 k5 Z0 q, ~5 z
summer of 2009. FAVA is a non-profit, charitable organization whose mandate is to
3 E5 P7 n: U h$ N+ Psupport the production and exhibition of film, video and media artists from Northern 1 F( R- w: ^* n$ ^/ a# E
Alberta.

and media art. FAVA offers: a variety of workshops for artistic and skill development; is a 5 F0 z3 H) w: O0 @/ T" O6 L
resource for production equipment and post-production facilities; hosts events and
) ^( Q9 m1 V7 k# ~/ h* M( iscreenings; and fosters and develops a dynamic media arts community in Northern + A- c' d& q, M- A; a

! t# Z# n" A3 r4 L/ AJob Description: The Librarian will report to the Executive Director and work with the
! k( N( ^: {' x# xFAVA staff by organizing and updating two libraries: the film, video and digital library; as
) H( U1 l7 `0 ]! O4 dwell as the script, magazine and book library.

- Sort and catalogue the film, video and digital library
1 p Z1 H4 Y8 C: B0 s( @- Sort and catalogue scripts, magazine and books
) Q1 G. a& x' l( r5 @1 l- Implement a catalogue template for future use 0 j5 ^, G4 n# ]6 N& O0 q# t
- Update and develop loaning policy and procedure ! Y' m3 O# b% O
- Enforce FAVA’s standard of use policies where applicable 7 R! `! X8 I, d0 D! a N

- Applicants must be unemployed and attending (or have recently completed) a post-

Qualifications: The ideal candidate will have:
0 F% V/ S- C# w! z: M3 {% G4 L- A passionate interest in film, video and media arts 7 f- p$ U( K# Q$ W( d0 S, D
- Strong organizational skills 5 i0 ~" m/ {1 H! j2 ~; k
- Experience or training in library sciences preferred
: e6 W# p/ M$ Y* Q- Exceptional communication skills, written and verbal
$ w" |2 U2 Y) b4 Y' p% |9 D- Strong team player abilities
