FAVA is currently looking for a Librarian to join the FAVA team for 10 weeks in the + d% f+ {& n5 b& t
summer of 2009. FAVA is a non-profit, charitable organization whose mandate is to 6 D+ g% N% j7 x8 O1 L
support the production and exhibition of film, video and media artists from Northern
8 E5 d- m( F3 r& h) b F* ^Alberta. 1 _+ O( O& E+ g/ C/ F+ Q* n
' R8 u' m! v$ K# }" TFAVA serves members with diverse backgrounds and levels of experience, ranging from
) K2 ?, @$ Z. H9 P/ q7 X, W8 hemerging, mid-range to established artists with an unwavering passion for film, video 9 l+ }" s2 j) V+ Q# R
and media art. FAVA offers: a variety of workshops for artistic and skill development; is a
+ w: }' i$ A, |; X0 `- y/ z1 Qresource for production equipment and post-production facilities; hosts events and
; }7 i- o4 z) ?. ?" Escreenings; and fosters and develops a dynamic media arts community in Northern

Job Description: The Librarian will report to the Executive Director and work with the + Y' ?9 z. X$ s5 a
FAVA staff by organizing and updating two libraries: the film, video and digital library; as " d8 g7 T9 v1 g" T( k/ @0 U5 N* Y
well as the script, magazine and book library.

9 L# o% S4 M! D7 c0 a' E5 m" J- Sort and catalogue the film, video and digital library
# ~7 Z4 E0 H2 |8 [4 w8 q- Sort and catalogue scripts, magazine and books , |, [/ C4 T/ m* C: _
- Implement a catalogue template for future use ; }& Y* M" v" v0 u( t
- Update and develop loaning policy and procedure
& S& w" x7 h( t3 h- Enforce FAVA’s standard of use policies where applicable 3 N- Z% H8 X8 l" O/ f

Qualifications: The ideal candidate will have: + ?& [! ] I3 L+ P
- A passionate interest in film, video and media arts

/ i5 p' ? ?+ q5 X+ ~; L" |# d5 C. T- Experience or training in library sciences preferred
