FAVA is currently looking for a Librarian to join the FAVA team for 10 weeks in the , A; c# b* J* l5 y6 K y$ T: ^
summer of 2009. FAVA is a non-profit, charitable organization whose mandate is to

FAVA serves members with diverse backgrounds and levels of experience, ranging from ! i7 K: l- Z. }$ ~
emerging, mid-range to established artists with an unwavering passion for film, video
/ f m% ^$ e5 Xand media art. FAVA offers: a variety of workshops for artistic and skill development; is a
- Z* h9 d: M3 z7 B# t! Y( tresource for production equipment and post-production facilities; hosts events and
3 P! N: @ Y0 _$ z, f% A7 tscreenings; and fosters and develops a dynamic media arts community in Northern

Job Description: The Librarian will report to the Executive Director and work with the 8 R+ Y" y! `1 m9 r2 C
FAVA staff by organizing and updating two libraries: the film, video and digital library; as 8 p) y: e; Z' U6 C% ~" C/ \+ q
well as the script, magazine and book library.

Duties:
& ^: a$ k) a& s; H' D- Sort and catalogue the film, video and digital library $ u: A! |3 [' R; P
- Sort and catalogue scripts, magazine and books
# X$ a; B( N5 L$ t: ~1 o- Implement a catalogue template for future use
! `7 X; w* L( j, n+ @" e' f- Update and develop loaning policy and procedure ' g) i& u0 \" H+ F
- Enforce FAVA’s standard of use policies where applicable

- Applicants must be unemployed and attending (or have recently completed) a post-) M' S7 o' ^: L2 g! z. a
secondary training, university preferred

- Length of position: 10 consecutive weeks

- A passionate interest in film, video and media arts
" b' ~( L# g& X! ^4 ~% G- Strong organizational skills
' G3 P$ o2 r; q( \) | [4 u$ p m- Experience or training in library sciences preferred

- Interest in working for an arts organization that is governed by a Board of Directors
