4 ^2 }# p# Y' x8 o+ F; S# Z; J0 \summer of 2009. FAVA is a non-profit, charitable organization whose mandate is to
support the production and exhibition of film, video and media artists from Northern
Alberta.

; m6 Y- ?6 n2 E1 temerging, mid-range to established artists with an unwavering passion for film, video
and media art. FAVA offers: a variety of workshops for artistic and skill development; is a
resource for production equipment and post-production facilities; hosts events and
! C6 R, ~2 e* lscreenings; and fosters and develops a dynamic media arts community in Northern
Alberta.

1 d1 z& M. {0 `- d7 f  m4 iJob Description: The Librarian will report to the Executive Director and work with the
5 O/ A6 A* Z+ S5 M- p( V* GFAVA staff by organizing and updating two libraries: the film, video and digital library; as
* X1 A5 E; x9 Jwell as the script, magazine and book library.

Duties:
) m/ ?1 f/ V2 \! b7 e7 M7 v- Sort and catalogue the film, video and digital library
4 P1 |* W; E3 l% q- Sort and catalogue scripts, magazine and books
- Implement a catalogue template for future use
3 `. R$ f! F5 Q6 |0 z7 S) u" }- Update and develop loaning policy and procedure
' D' K0 A+ Y4 O) Y) |0 c+ x1 m- Enforce FAVA’s standard of use policies where applicable

Details:
- Funding for this position is provided by the Summer Temporary Employment Program
/ a! w7 F" T0 i' m: G- j(STEP)
- Applicants must be unemployed and attending (or have recently completed) a post-
secondary training, university preferred
1 {5 H% k3 X1 X& E! J- Wage is $15.00 per hour, 35 hours per week
- Length of position: 10 consecutive weeks

0 w, @9 |1 w% d: V- i% A% _Qualifications: The ideal candidate will have:
3 Q2 a9 H+ B' ?. d1 J, ^% v- A passionate interest in film, video and media arts
- Strong organizational skills
- Experience or training in library sciences preferred
- Exceptional communication skills, written and verbal  
' z" i/ F, N$ b, `% @- Strong team player abilities
