FAVA is currently looking for a Librarian to join the FAVA team for 10 weeks in the
* R0 v2 Y. c4 j$ l; ssummer of 2009. FAVA is a non-profit, charitable organization whose mandate is to
7 G6 L3 }" K8 r6 q4 esupport the production and exhibition of film, video and media artists from Northern
Alberta.

FAVA serves members with diverse backgrounds and levels of experience, ranging from
- C, E$ x/ _5 L  R+ d5 semerging, mid-range to established artists with an unwavering passion for film, video
and media art. FAVA offers: a variety of workshops for artistic and skill development; is a
' C6 c6 y9 E" [- u0 b! t" ]* y. sresource for production equipment and post-production facilities; hosts events and
' F3 i" {9 Y* Ascreenings; and fosters and develops a dynamic media arts community in Northern
Alberta.

Job Description: The Librarian will report to the Executive Director and work with the
. B' Q. v% Y2 Y+ f5 K% Z1 ^FAVA staff by organizing and updating two libraries: the film, video and digital library; as
; G" S' n" T3 ~well as the script, magazine and book library.

Duties:
- Sort and catalogue the film, video and digital library
- Sort and catalogue scripts, magazine and books
- Implement a catalogue template for future use
- Update and develop loaning policy and procedure
- Enforce FAVA’s standard of use policies where applicable

- A passionate interest in film, video and media arts
- Strong organizational skills
7 u* ^/ p% C/ }" J9 G- Experience or training in library sciences preferred
- Exceptional communication skills, written and verbal  
- Strong team player abilities
