FAVA is currently looking for a Librarian to join the FAVA team for 10 weeks in the
4 t9 T6 T' I6 f$ W0 dsummer of 2009. FAVA is a non-profit, charitable organization whose mandate is to
7 I. m7 K7 F' q L3 o- g( Hsupport the production and exhibition of film, video and media artists from Northern * U+ N) M5 A* ~8 L* k: ^

FAVA serves members with diverse backgrounds and levels of experience, ranging from / ^" l- s' `& m' ^; {
emerging, mid-range to established artists with an unwavering passion for film, video ' \, u) ^; l$ P6 i
and media art. FAVA offers: a variety of workshops for artistic and skill development; is a
9 ~! ~2 |: g3 P% P- k; D8 presource for production equipment and post-production facilities; hosts events and + G: v, [' d4 ~- y# m! Q) l$ T( T
screenings; and fosters and develops a dynamic media arts community in Northern

Job Description: The Librarian will report to the Executive Director and work with the
6 Q7 {: Y$ _( n+ d. f( N, w/ EFAVA staff by organizing and updating two libraries: the film, video and digital library; as
& i; @) }$ H* n- D6 e3 ]- _well as the script, magazine and book library.

7 x' {' r$ v- N- Sort and catalogue the film, video and digital library
. C, ~ `% y4 g5 z5 n- Sort and catalogue scripts, magazine and books
6 \/ `, f9 A! y- Implement a catalogue template for future use
' m" Z) d0 r# w- Update and develop loaning policy and procedure 1 ^ h4 y' Z) L% G
- Enforce FAVA’s standard of use policies where applicable - R! t* a. |$ s! G( m

- Applicants must be unemployed and attending (or have recently completed) a post-1 h- a$ E7 ?: T+ O! S, t% t
secondary training, university preferred Z, G8 o: c) e6 \& Q2 O
- Wage is $15.00 per hour, 35 hours per week

- Strong organizational skills : U {6 N7 p# R3 h6 O9 j* d0 o
- Experience or training in library sciences preferred
* e* n9 q9 N, k- Exceptional communication skills, written and verbal
