FAVA is currently looking for a Librarian to join the FAVA team for 10 weeks in the
# B, i7 A9 L- o6 s) y' a. Usummer of 2009. FAVA is a non-profit, charitable organization whose mandate is to
# Q% y0 L7 ?9 V: e. [) lsupport the production and exhibition of film, video and media artists from Northern
( P8 F: d3 a* O' X5 G5 iAlberta.

FAVA serves members with diverse backgrounds and levels of experience, ranging from
emerging, mid-range to established artists with an unwavering passion for film, video
& N" g- T+ U& T. x) n$ C- yand media art. FAVA offers: a variety of workshops for artistic and skill development; is a
+ d, C+ |* c( O) s4 presource for production equipment and post-production facilities; hosts events and
screenings; and fosters and develops a dynamic media arts community in Northern
; n- `: a, x7 @# A0 ^( ?Alberta.

Job Description: The Librarian will report to the Executive Director and work with the
FAVA staff by organizing and updating two libraries: the film, video and digital library; as
! C+ u; H+ d% Z& S; X, }/ Awell as the script, magazine and book library.

Duties:
2 U9 q5 c' s% T3 `9 {- Sort and catalogue the film, video and digital library
; x3 C1 @+ Q. U8 E5 X+ ~) @- Sort and catalogue scripts, magazine and books
8 o8 _9 w3 r; L' ]2 z2 W3 O- Implement a catalogue template for future use
- Update and develop loaning policy and procedure
- Enforce FAVA’s standard of use policies where applicable

- Funding for this position is provided by the Summer Temporary Employment Program

- Applicants must be unemployed and attending (or have recently completed) a post-
secondary training, university preferred
, c/ r: o$ B0 n6 ]5 N7 z) m8 C& J& x2 Z- Wage is $15.00 per hour, 35 hours per week
- Length of position: 10 consecutive weeks

$ `( X; q7 h, p  SQualifications: The ideal candidate will have:
$ l7 P3 l9 m" ^- A passionate interest in film, video and media arts
7 r4 [* r: X% y- Strong organizational skills
  D& G& v2 R; @; D- Experience or training in library sciences preferred
* X: v* w" X& d; s9 Y8 w, ~$ n+ Y- Exceptional communication skills, written and verbal  
1 m2 g* }/ v7 [, `3 b* C- Strong team player abilities
- Interest in working for an arts organization that is governed by a Board of Directors
