summer of 2009. FAVA is a non-profit, charitable organization whose mandate is to

2 A/ d! O# N& N8 xFAVA serves members with diverse backgrounds and levels of experience, ranging from
0 g1 d& z+ e3 g' N: S! Memerging, mid-range to established artists with an unwavering passion for film, video / s. d/ _$ V7 b1 }( M/ i: D
and media art. FAVA offers: a variety of workshops for artistic and skill development; is a & G7 v8 E+ e$ G$ x5 s* a9 L
resource for production equipment and post-production facilities; hosts events and o% A ^& b, b. K/ ^0 V
screenings; and fosters and develops a dynamic media arts community in Northern 9 M! j& Q( j, c/ E* b
Alberta.

Job Description: The Librarian will report to the Executive Director and work with the
, Y4 _6 A5 x& m, c) UFAVA staff by organizing and updating two libraries: the film, video and digital library; as # ?, m4 S( a3 C) J
well as the script, magazine and book library. , s. I5 ^& m% B" j8 `

- Sort and catalogue the film, video and digital library 9 Y0 t) R# X3 V n0 m H& T
- Sort and catalogue scripts, magazine and books

- Update and develop loaning policy and procedure 2 V" ^, e) _. s7 l L3 V, o/ W
- Enforce FAVA’s standard of use policies where applicable

- Length of position: 10 consecutive weeks

- A passionate interest in film, video and media arts

- Experience or training in library sciences preferred

- Interest in working for an arts organization that is governed by a Board of Directors
