FAVA is currently looking for a Librarian to join the FAVA team for 10 weeks in the 6 I3 \! b, q: k& s
summer of 2009. FAVA is a non-profit, charitable organization whose mandate is to 9 p, ?. E" a7 V# E' J, n; H: {
support the production and exhibition of film, video and media artists from Northern 3 y7 F, o) w1 f2 [
Alberta.

FAVA serves members with diverse backgrounds and levels of experience, ranging from / D$ @' C4 o7 U2 H$ ~
emerging, mid-range to established artists with an unwavering passion for film, video
+ m: V; p! [" c( L" ]and media art. FAVA offers: a variety of workshops for artistic and skill development; is a 7 N" i& q* k. Q4 z, M
resource for production equipment and post-production facilities; hosts events and 3 U7 H) C0 b& M3 P4 o5 E( i! [
screenings; and fosters and develops a dynamic media arts community in Northern : z) I% f2 u! e# k* H+ F

Job Description: The Librarian will report to the Executive Director and work with the ! T7 G; c% `' I/ Z
FAVA staff by organizing and updating two libraries: the film, video and digital library; as ) _: \, z8 f& \& Z+ E
well as the script, magazine and book library.
! ?6 f0 z% X# s/ R- k 7 ]+ T, a3 v6 }1 D
Duties: / n4 P: p: G2 ?; u/ c( @, H
- Sort and catalogue the film, video and digital library
0 J9 y: n, L" a: W) I' ]& Z- Sort and catalogue scripts, magazine and books % M$ v( r& J2 w
- Implement a catalogue template for future use 1 y8 o2 h4 b# k( U- @
- Update and develop loaning policy and procedure
! E0 b/ s) b" t- Enforce FAVA’s standard of use policies where applicable - u2 |2 [6 j) Q$ X& Y) ]

- Wage is $15.00 per hour, 35 hours per week
! ~3 O! h# N& J- Length of position: 10 consecutive weeks

+ Y* [" H, c* v& G- A passionate interest in film, video and media arts 9 `# L: e6 n) D9 V9 o
- Strong organizational skills
; K' u- Q h' i4 e; z7 \- Experience or training in library sciences preferred
