FAVA is currently looking for a Librarian to join the FAVA team for 10 weeks in the 2 Q2 R/ S( Z$ _7 ~6 f
summer of 2009. FAVA is a non-profit, charitable organization whose mandate is to
7 q0 d6 ] X. z& Csupport the production and exhibition of film, video and media artists from Northern
7 i: q) R1 q0 V; EAlberta.

FAVA serves members with diverse backgrounds and levels of experience, ranging from
4 g7 D9 c+ S+ ~5 k) Cemerging, mid-range to established artists with an unwavering passion for film, video
3 k& x4 \7 V4 z- ]- a7 Band media art. FAVA offers: a variety of workshops for artistic and skill development; is a
7 L5 J5 ?2 E7 @7 Bresource for production equipment and post-production facilities; hosts events and
2 l/ N# h0 x9 J" s! x. j) Hscreenings; and fosters and develops a dynamic media arts community in Northern - J2 [" r( o' w3 U3 a3 d
Alberta.

Job Description: The Librarian will report to the Executive Director and work with the
8 d5 c& z3 Q5 d( l& Z5 vFAVA staff by organizing and updating two libraries: the film, video and digital library; as
9 \ B b: ]7 l2 Z, s1 h# I* Iwell as the script, magazine and book library. 2 b5 W8 T" ]3 U! [, }+ ]$ D

Duties:
l! B. ^" [) }' A. @- Sort and catalogue the film, video and digital library
! g5 f; c. ?" A9 P* W: y- Sort and catalogue scripts, magazine and books
0 ^' H8 @6 p' F3 x, E- k- Implement a catalogue template for future use ) F, x% g/ U! v6 ?# ~5 |8 `: q7 [
- Update and develop loaning policy and procedure
6 y( y+ e2 q: |$ P4 ]- Enforce FAVA’s standard of use policies where applicable 4 w6 `% A" ^9 ?9 x0 Q

- Applicants must be unemployed and attending (or have recently completed) a post-

- Interest in working for an arts organization that is governed by a Board of Directors
