FAVA is currently looking for a Librarian to join the FAVA team for 10 weeks in the + x' y( r7 J, ~: @# {
summer of 2009. FAVA is a non-profit, charitable organization whose mandate is to ' J& {9 \1 M; R6 `2 m
support the production and exhibition of film, video and media artists from Northern ; @: F: P. J, a; ^' u1 C+ @3 r: W
Alberta.

FAVA serves members with diverse backgrounds and levels of experience, ranging from
+ k6 V+ P' `' S! X/ b; vemerging, mid-range to established artists with an unwavering passion for film, video
- U& l5 V0 E# w9 t: jand media art. FAVA offers: a variety of workshops for artistic and skill development; is a 5 e" k2 J% Q, \9 ?" g
resource for production equipment and post-production facilities; hosts events and * S: [$ R6 M9 W1 ` U
screenings; and fosters and develops a dynamic media arts community in Northern

3 ]1 O" M% u/ ?. C& s' OJob Description: The Librarian will report to the Executive Director and work with the
. d0 \" J$ L T( uFAVA staff by organizing and updating two libraries: the film, video and digital library; as
% n; x' _9 D0 _6 K/ F. qwell as the script, magazine and book library.

+ Y. n! C5 p* \: S* N8 W9 R- Sort and catalogue the film, video and digital library
( C; \( f; \( s' q. x& ~0 s) r* R G- Sort and catalogue scripts, magazine and books 5 L9 ~7 B8 T9 _: ^8 T! K
- Implement a catalogue template for future use
9 i }3 @- J' J8 ]9 Y9 m9 p( K( u2 C- Update and develop loaning policy and procedure 8 Z( }1 Q# { @8 }0 W
- Enforce FAVA’s standard of use policies where applicable ' K3 N2 r- [( U$ H! h

- Applicants must be unemployed and attending (or have recently completed) a post-

+ i k% I+ B+ ?- Wage is $15.00 per hour, 35 hours per week 7 f) b1 M4 K3 V0 C' y4 m
- Length of position: 10 consecutive weeks

- A passionate interest in film, video and media arts $ U8 x& S6 A5 z/ Q v
- Strong organizational skills
