FAVA is currently looking for a Librarian to join the FAVA team for 10 weeks in the ! E6 G; q* ?6 e1 A5 I
summer of 2009. FAVA is a non-profit, charitable organization whose mandate is to
; {1 T \, b6 `. ?. Zsupport the production and exhibition of film, video and media artists from Northern

# C3 J& {' _4 v0 sFAVA serves members with diverse backgrounds and levels of experience, ranging from 5 y* U& n' G0 `7 _8 S _1 u
emerging, mid-range to established artists with an unwavering passion for film, video % p7 s+ @9 I- A3 u# K
and media art. FAVA offers: a variety of workshops for artistic and skill development; is a
7 R; @% u( A1 x) kresource for production equipment and post-production facilities; hosts events and
/ c. g" w- N) e- C8 D6 q- Gscreenings; and fosters and develops a dynamic media arts community in Northern

Job Description: The Librarian will report to the Executive Director and work with the
/ }: d& h, U+ t5 y" pFAVA staff by organizing and updating two libraries: the film, video and digital library; as 7 _" E) S8 j, ]3 s' b/ h3 W. P; h
well as the script, magazine and book library.

Duties:
/ g4 U1 |6 K9 c% i- U w- Sort and catalogue the film, video and digital library
9 \5 v1 Y2 M' W2 b$ m' h- Sort and catalogue scripts, magazine and books 6 }/ \* Q* V" C: O- c
- Implement a catalogue template for future use 7 Y& t$ @" e- ^9 r4 a
- Update and develop loaning policy and procedure $ q' K) j. i! e0 h, I$ N
- Enforce FAVA’s standard of use policies where applicable

- Applicants must be unemployed and attending (or have recently completed) a post-

- Wage is $15.00 per hour, 35 hours per week 2 @+ ?% X5 c5 a8 _
- Length of position: 10 consecutive weeks

- Experience or training in library sciences preferred + v8 s; J' S$ {9 j6 j% J

- Strong team player abilities
