FAVA is currently looking for a Librarian to join the FAVA team for 10 weeks in the
# ^- v2 d6 q" h- e5 Qsummer of 2009. FAVA is a non-profit, charitable organization whose mandate is to 5 O( F: F) j( D5 x
support the production and exhibition of film, video and media artists from Northern y& ^4 [- e2 G8 i- n
Alberta.

and media art. FAVA offers: a variety of workshops for artistic and skill development; is a # q4 @+ Q: `- O# [+ O$ i
resource for production equipment and post-production facilities; hosts events and - ?! g9 v, L+ Q# \' U& _+ h
screenings; and fosters and develops a dynamic media arts community in Northern & b$ q3 o, h. |; a2 B

; ~1 G p6 [) rJob Description: The Librarian will report to the Executive Director and work with the $ p0 E' h! R: j& [# J. T3 g( H
FAVA staff by organizing and updating two libraries: the film, video and digital library; as . A# I' l( T7 ?
well as the script, magazine and book library.

- Sort and catalogue the film, video and digital library
# \7 W7 G' M9 d( V; \( _# j: d- Sort and catalogue scripts, magazine and books
8 N% _% J, g. V5 X, @" t" i) Q- Implement a catalogue template for future use
" E% e/ K! _ w! ]' h- Update and develop loaning policy and procedure
9 i' D! `0 f& ~; {! u/ F& u& G* c- Enforce FAVA’s standard of use policies where applicable

Qualifications: The ideal candidate will have: 7 K6 S* c/ u) t {
- A passionate interest in film, video and media arts ! `7 Y" I) c: I
- Strong organizational skills ) `, X1 B' @8 b8 m/ r; R5 d
- Experience or training in library sciences preferred }! N% p7 ~1 M b. W! c
- Exceptional communication skills, written and verbal
