FAVA is currently looking for a Librarian to join the FAVA team for 10 weeks in the
summer of 2009. FAVA is a non-profit, charitable organization whose mandate is to
support the production and exhibition of film, video and media artists from Northern
+ J2 u2 w1 g# mAlberta.

0 \1 l. |3 F  v6 V2 EFAVA serves members with diverse backgrounds and levels of experience, ranging from
emerging, mid-range to established artists with an unwavering passion for film, video
and media art. FAVA offers: a variety of workshops for artistic and skill development; is a
resource for production equipment and post-production facilities; hosts events and
screenings; and fosters and develops a dynamic media arts community in Northern
Alberta.

  D- D& m. i0 w) N7 n( ?- YJob Description: The Librarian will report to the Executive Director and work with the
0 h9 o; T! C& N- s# dFAVA staff by organizing and updating two libraries: the film, video and digital library; as
2 D5 s& ]7 m' n% v% _& B8 m8 |5 iwell as the script, magazine and book library.

& p/ x/ r# T) YDuties:
- Sort and catalogue the film, video and digital library
/ n5 l2 c) f8 n8 v% G- Sort and catalogue scripts, magazine and books
& b% {' T: b  R) a- Implement a catalogue template for future use
- Update and develop loaning policy and procedure
- Enforce FAVA’s standard of use policies where applicable

Details:
- Funding for this position is provided by the Summer Temporary Employment Program
(STEP)
9 t1 G! E2 m: i/ M7 {- Applicants must be unemployed and attending (or have recently completed) a post-
secondary training, university preferred
0 y( l3 S0 u1 k, o  c8 ~- Wage is $15.00 per hour, 35 hours per week
2 t8 \: j9 O: q) x, W8 c& T- Length of position: 10 consecutive weeks

9 H/ S) W1 C. G; \% ]- A passionate interest in film, video and media arts
4 }% _7 \& L7 n- \  m) Y- Strong organizational skills
* `5 O* i% O7 _8 G2 d- Experience or training in library sciences preferred
- Exceptional communication skills, written and verbal  
/ h1 `/ m% c8 d! x- Z- Strong team player abilities
- Interest in working for an arts organization that is governed by a Board of Directors

I have 3 years librarian expeirence in U of A, and believe I can fit in this postion perfectly.
