2 E: l2 d! c. z, n( pFAVA is currently looking for a Librarian to join the FAVA team for 10 weeks in the
summer of 2009. FAVA is a non-profit, charitable organization whose mandate is to
0 w, Z6 ~0 U2 ]! ^# W/ m3 f3 B9 Nsupport the production and exhibition of film, video and media artists from Northern
Alberta.

* t) L6 Q; |  Y1 h7 f. W& `FAVA serves members with diverse backgrounds and levels of experience, ranging from
emerging, mid-range to established artists with an unwavering passion for film, video
and media art. FAVA offers: a variety of workshops for artistic and skill development; is a
2 H8 `0 F0 [/ C  {+ a; Tresource for production equipment and post-production facilities; hosts events and
screenings; and fosters and develops a dynamic media arts community in Northern
Alberta.

Job Description: The Librarian will report to the Executive Director and work with the
FAVA staff by organizing and updating two libraries: the film, video and digital library; as
/ w2 I6 V+ z  x( z$ Q% Cwell as the script, magazine and book library.

7 y: P& Z0 n: K- lDuties:
0 t' Q5 y( N! H9 N: m- [- Sort and catalogue the film, video and digital library
* x( A, B4 G9 n! Z8 C7 M9 m2 u* L  h- Sort and catalogue scripts, magazine and books
& L  p' P5 M# j- Implement a catalogue template for future use
- Update and develop loaning policy and procedure
- Enforce FAVA’s standard of use policies where applicable

- Funding for this position is provided by the Summer Temporary Employment Program

- Applicants must be unemployed and attending (or have recently completed) a post-
secondary training, university preferred
9 k: K, \) p+ V1 {9 S% s" j- Wage is $15.00 per hour, 35 hours per week

% W  O# Y1 r" ~; a, T- A passionate interest in film, video and media arts
- Strong organizational skills
- Experience or training in library sciences preferred
- Exceptional communication skills, written and verbal  
6 B& X! M) h- D: t4 M- Strong team player abilities
- Interest in working for an arts organization that is governed by a Board of Directors
