FAVA is currently looking for a Librarian to join the FAVA team for 10 weeks in the * z9 M( w5 s) K1 S8 k
summer of 2009. FAVA is a non-profit, charitable organization whose mandate is to

emerging, mid-range to established artists with an unwavering passion for film, video
$ ~" [- c0 @$ v; _0 pand media art. FAVA offers: a variety of workshops for artistic and skill development; is a
7 s' V- I5 X- ^5 n! f& lresource for production equipment and post-production facilities; hosts events and : ]2 L5 O8 O. l/ Q; w1 ~! l& K
screenings; and fosters and develops a dynamic media arts community in Northern

Job Description: The Librarian will report to the Executive Director and work with the 5 {: a0 [" I" V
FAVA staff by organizing and updating two libraries: the film, video and digital library; as
1 e, _: W. V" e, l6 t9 Ywell as the script, magazine and book library. 2 m; Z) l' P5 V9 H2 r3 x
% M0 w ~) [$ V$ `Duties:
8 h, ^4 ~7 L8 C. P( L- Sort and catalogue the film, video and digital library
& w% m, [$ H& ^3 T+ P- Sort and catalogue scripts, magazine and books : h0 ]9 B. d+ F& z: d" o# k
- Implement a catalogue template for future use 0 Q _( w% J2 E
- Update and develop loaning policy and procedure % ?" T9 h2 G2 I ]* ^
- Enforce FAVA’s standard of use policies where applicable

- Wage is $15.00 per hour, 35 hours per week

Qualifications: The ideal candidate will have: ; K# z8 B$ P o: Z9 x: J3 r
- A passionate interest in film, video and media arts
$ W' ` K6 a, l9 G0 T- c# F- Strong organizational skills
) T. h- \' Q, t( l3 {- Experience or training in library sciences preferred
' a9 b/ F5 E8 o& X% `( s- Exceptional communication skills, written and verbal & I; s/ e3 _+ k" }0 _5 k
- Strong team player abilities
% S: e5 V$ F( v! f' I- Interest in working for an arts organization that is governed by a Board of Directors
