FAVA is currently looking for a Librarian to join the FAVA team for 10 weeks in the
8 p* {, b" y- csummer of 2009. FAVA is a non-profit, charitable organization whose mandate is to
6 M j7 R! j6 ]) Qsupport the production and exhibition of film, video and media artists from Northern

FAVA serves members with diverse backgrounds and levels of experience, ranging from

) l+ v0 W. w& a( ]4 Mand media art. FAVA offers: a variety of workshops for artistic and skill development; is a 2 s, k; z5 C# V! h5 B% ], X' Y+ E
resource for production equipment and post-production facilities; hosts events and
& E, ?1 T0 u% d6 Z4 b" K$ {screenings; and fosters and develops a dynamic media arts community in Northern

* e/ m/ u+ s( j# e% k2 i: i6 cJob Description: The Librarian will report to the Executive Director and work with the * E1 L, p4 a( r/ N, t/ x% M4 e
FAVA staff by organizing and updating two libraries: the film, video and digital library; as
0 S h, {* N# rwell as the script, magazine and book library.

- Sort and catalogue the film, video and digital library , ]* N3 A( R, K' f' m
- Sort and catalogue scripts, magazine and books
+ ~% y5 y0 i7 u& ?8 O- Implement a catalogue template for future use
. |, D6 Q8 c/ T a5 \- Update and develop loaning policy and procedure
& q& T2 B/ z5 W) l3 {2 U- Enforce FAVA’s standard of use policies where applicable

- Applicants must be unemployed and attending (or have recently completed) a post-

Qualifications: The ideal candidate will have: ) n6 Q; e4 i* j+ K- ]
- A passionate interest in film, video and media arts
5 ~+ N2 V# }' C F# ]3 [# ]- Strong organizational skills ) o8 q; r, L- Y
- Experience or training in library sciences preferred
( F: \; h$ F7 w. Q9 d: B' d/ m! I! c- Exceptional communication skills, written and verbal

- Interest in working for an arts organization that is governed by a Board of Directors ) p& ~# E* [4 Q
