FAVA is currently looking for a Librarian to join the FAVA team for 10 weeks in the & c, x! S, h9 F
summer of 2009. FAVA is a non-profit, charitable organization whose mandate is to

emerging, mid-range to established artists with an unwavering passion for film, video / f0 p" M4 [* @
and media art. FAVA offers: a variety of workshops for artistic and skill development; is a
/ Q: h7 S( K0 k- R9 x& M7 jresource for production equipment and post-production facilities; hosts events and
% [! U2 @' ~8 V2 hscreenings; and fosters and develops a dynamic media arts community in Northern 5 z0 V z% L- ]. W' U8 w

: J N. M3 A2 I) y) IJob Description: The Librarian will report to the Executive Director and work with the * ?$ K4 I8 w- u( Q' {7 Y
FAVA staff by organizing and updating two libraries: the film, video and digital library; as - G" I; T# J9 v, a
well as the script, magazine and book library. # o" y- `1 @1 w+ [, |

: B* Q& j; r! D6 `: W! h- Sort and catalogue the film, video and digital library
, l3 x3 s5 R4 L. [. _. s. P4 R- Sort and catalogue scripts, magazine and books
* n+ M0 Z" C4 i; d4 T- Implement a catalogue template for future use
8 ~8 Q$ {2 l) j+ Q) J: O8 L- Update and develop loaning policy and procedure

- Applicants must be unemployed and attending (or have recently completed) a post-

Qualifications: The ideal candidate will have:
8 S0 Q1 ]& Y/ v/ N. `- A passionate interest in film, video and media arts / d( a6 s: w3 ~$ u$ V
- Strong organizational skills
" F! l: F* T& L* M' r- Experience or training in library sciences preferred
/ T; d1 q9 c; n9 v6 P- Exceptional communication skills, written and verbal
- }: I% r$ P6 O; P- Strong team player abilities
- g9 x8 [; C" Y2 r6 h4 l- Interest in working for an arts organization that is governed by a Board of Directors
