FAVA is currently looking for a Librarian to join the FAVA team for 10 weeks in the
" F5 p3 ~9 R$ ~/ x" isummer of 2009. FAVA is a non-profit, charitable organization whose mandate is to
$ u% Y% k& a6 W% d" U. }% Osupport the production and exhibition of film, video and media artists from Northern
$ C7 O$ e9 y9 |& Z* n: R/ I5 l7 nAlberta.

; p' y' H: {2 n) ~8 z- C8 V/ MFAVA serves members with diverse backgrounds and levels of experience, ranging from
emerging, mid-range to established artists with an unwavering passion for film, video
2 F+ x+ u# R: S: A  M; Cand media art. FAVA offers: a variety of workshops for artistic and skill development; is a
resource for production equipment and post-production facilities; hosts events and
8 e0 Q; X' _' r9 g3 }; |# tscreenings; and fosters and develops a dynamic media arts community in Northern
0 S: F, \: k: q/ Y8 T" B  vAlberta.

1 g' c* f4 J% Z. A8 C1 EJob Description: The Librarian will report to the Executive Director and work with the
FAVA staff by organizing and updating two libraries: the film, video and digital library; as
' R- J- P, r' J' c' \well as the script, magazine and book library.

Duties:
- Sort and catalogue the film, video and digital library
, l0 a6 B+ i' {8 y9 a- Sort and catalogue scripts, magazine and books
- Implement a catalogue template for future use
& j7 L' o7 ?7 S) A# n- G. S- Update and develop loaning policy and procedure
- Enforce FAVA’s standard of use policies where applicable

- Funding for this position is provided by the Summer Temporary Employment Program
(STEP)
- Applicants must be unemployed and attending (or have recently completed) a post-
secondary training, university preferred
- Wage is $15.00 per hour, 35 hours per week

- A passionate interest in film, video and media arts

- Experience or training in library sciences preferred
* V" C7 D9 t! b: o- Exceptional communication skills, written and verbal  
- Strong team player abilities
