' \- [& i2 F- M4 t* a3 P; k  ?FAVA is currently looking for a Librarian to join the FAVA team for 10 weeks in the
summer of 2009. FAVA is a non-profit, charitable organization whose mandate is to
support the production and exhibition of film, video and media artists from Northern
Alberta.

, V3 d5 C  @: t2 ^; kFAVA serves members with diverse backgrounds and levels of experience, ranging from
& Q! f3 U' z- \% Yemerging, mid-range to established artists with an unwavering passion for film, video
and media art. FAVA offers: a variety of workshops for artistic and skill development; is a
resource for production equipment and post-production facilities; hosts events and
$ v" G  t8 l% _; vscreenings; and fosters and develops a dynamic media arts community in Northern
Alberta.

Job Description: The Librarian will report to the Executive Director and work with the
FAVA staff by organizing and updating two libraries: the film, video and digital library; as
( _' M# H0 ~5 X$ Q# g2 O& G( [well as the script, magazine and book library.

Duties:
) e; x/ O5 x8 ]0 E! P! U; \4 A, K6 q- Sort and catalogue the film, video and digital library
- Sort and catalogue scripts, magazine and books
, k! {  m0 h8 P& C9 l0 ]& ^- Implement a catalogue template for future use
- Update and develop loaning policy and procedure
- Enforce FAVA’s standard of use policies where applicable

Qualifications: The ideal candidate will have:
- A passionate interest in film, video and media arts
( E; C! A# d. X. J/ w2 D. n- Strong organizational skills
- Experience or training in library sciences preferred
