0 O) V H+ }2 A" e. n. ]summer of 2009. FAVA is a non-profit, charitable organization whose mandate is to
" f" A+ l4 ^" O) nsupport the production and exhibition of film, video and media artists from Northern
0 D$ e2 K5 y! eAlberta.

FAVA serves members with diverse backgrounds and levels of experience, ranging from
+ n$ `$ s. J6 v4 u# F0 semerging, mid-range to established artists with an unwavering passion for film, video 6 m$ f; c2 `) H0 O
and media art. FAVA offers: a variety of workshops for artistic and skill development; is a ' N' [7 _% D& K
resource for production equipment and post-production facilities; hosts events and ( g! Z! d9 Z: Z, R
screenings; and fosters and develops a dynamic media arts community in Northern * h5 A. B. H& k
Alberta. : f8 ?; v u3 k/ n( k
1 E3 Z% l# z, f% Z3 t+ M+ }* G) LJob Description: The Librarian will report to the Executive Director and work with the
( X3 K/ T/ a' U) j6 i- kFAVA staff by organizing and updating two libraries: the film, video and digital library; as
6 K* A0 v8 M* Iwell as the script, magazine and book library. 9 s# ]: N0 a$ k) U

Duties: ! I- @2 O( W% t1 T9 l
- Sort and catalogue the film, video and digital library ! k; x/ n8 H* i+ v. k$ C
- Sort and catalogue scripts, magazine and books
* H" e3 y7 O# ^7 a- a' N- Implement a catalogue template for future use ) N. ]- z9 a/ X/ t
- Update and develop loaning policy and procedure
4 y) X0 q1 `. K4 _. X- Enforce FAVA’s standard of use policies where applicable

- Wage is $15.00 per hour, 35 hours per week
) {+ G U( u& t- Length of position: 10 consecutive weeks - q) J3 l) T3 W

Qualifications: The ideal candidate will have:
& e( t! b7 R2 @0 u, U0 F# u8 v3 O" u2 r- A passionate interest in film, video and media arts
# Y9 k$ o2 g0 S! F/ t' Y2 Q- Strong organizational skills ( c9 E( E3 ?! m( P8 A- [
- Experience or training in library sciences preferred / ^* a. N7 n( ?# w, H0 x
- Exceptional communication skills, written and verbal , w& ~; `6 j: H
- Strong team player abilities
