FAVA is currently looking for a Librarian to join the FAVA team for 10 weeks in the
summer of 2009. FAVA is a non-profit, charitable organization whose mandate is to
support the production and exhibition of film, video and media artists from Northern
5 e' e' i8 m  s8 D! cAlberta.

FAVA serves members with diverse backgrounds and levels of experience, ranging from
emerging, mid-range to established artists with an unwavering passion for film, video
/ N) K0 R  S1 C! zand media art. FAVA offers: a variety of workshops for artistic and skill development; is a
. x$ F0 X. N8 e3 o* F9 W/ a" wresource for production equipment and post-production facilities; hosts events and
screenings; and fosters and develops a dynamic media arts community in Northern
  ]. X/ M/ P( Z( `7 `/ b# O' ]Alberta.

Job Description: The Librarian will report to the Executive Director and work with the
FAVA staff by organizing and updating two libraries: the film, video and digital library; as

- Sort and catalogue the film, video and digital library
- Sort and catalogue scripts, magazine and books
/ @" K$ P+ V2 v2 \! u- @$ X% w: X- Q- Implement a catalogue template for future use
- Update and develop loaning policy and procedure
- Enforce FAVA’s standard of use policies where applicable

: P1 ~" g! S/ t1 l/ \! s$ `- Applicants must be unemployed and attending (or have recently completed) a post-
secondary training, university preferred
# h( q+ i* B" z6 X, O- Wage is $15.00 per hour, 35 hours per week
/ k" l1 K( R0 X- Length of position: 10 consecutive weeks

Qualifications: The ideal candidate will have:
. d, o3 L, P6 g# O# s- A passionate interest in film, video and media arts
- Strong organizational skills
- Experience or training in library sciences preferred
* [: I3 S3 h# B5 K6 E) ^- Exceptional communication skills, written and verbal  
- Strong team player abilities
- Interest in working for an arts organization that is governed by a Board of Directors

8 O/ L6 b& e8 L3 II have 3 years librarian expeirence in U of A, and believe I can fit in this postion perfectly.
