summer of 2009. FAVA is a non-profit, charitable organization whose mandate is to

Alberta.

FAVA serves members with diverse backgrounds and levels of experience, ranging from 4 B4 f! Z; ]! i- T# O
emerging, mid-range to established artists with an unwavering passion for film, video
, V$ V) } Z" Q3 h W% ]/ |and media art. FAVA offers: a variety of workshops for artistic and skill development; is a
0 S! o9 m- O- p4 wresource for production equipment and post-production facilities; hosts events and ! A2 D; J! s- p# E- k; k' h3 e, ~) H
screenings; and fosters and develops a dynamic media arts community in Northern

Job Description: The Librarian will report to the Executive Director and work with the
$ P$ _- e& e* u" IFAVA staff by organizing and updating two libraries: the film, video and digital library; as . A0 t/ x9 l# ]3 q% Y' g
well as the script, magazine and book library. / R: V( i$ {6 E% h7 n
: U* n, d) D. }1 g4 K U$ {Duties: * T( d1 J2 W* j a9 s% J% o
- Sort and catalogue the film, video and digital library
$ W N' o( a! [* ^6 m5 G% w) l- Sort and catalogue scripts, magazine and books 5 V- b ]( M8 F1 G( ^/ H
- Implement a catalogue template for future use
9 w+ _( ^+ p; y- Update and develop loaning policy and procedure . g$ u: ?; S! }
- Enforce FAVA’s standard of use policies where applicable 9 S1 q; z' {1 L: ?8 U8 |

secondary training, university preferred

- Length of position: 10 consecutive weeks

Qualifications: The ideal candidate will have:

- Strong organizational skills
) X% L5 L+ v' e: @7 E- Experience or training in library sciences preferred
