FAVA is currently looking for a Librarian to join the FAVA team for 10 weeks in the ; z* i- }( x! r0 M/ a
summer of 2009. FAVA is a non-profit, charitable organization whose mandate is to . k; n a7 \- T
support the production and exhibition of film, video and media artists from Northern $ M T6 A0 L( E9 O* \

FAVA serves members with diverse backgrounds and levels of experience, ranging from % u# E6 `; z, x1 M3 p
emerging, mid-range to established artists with an unwavering passion for film, video 2 W( e8 \& _' m' i2 H# e: g8 d
and media art. FAVA offers: a variety of workshops for artistic and skill development; is a
/ @. O1 N: a3 B5 B! M L M5 zresource for production equipment and post-production facilities; hosts events and
/ V/ n0 V1 Q9 b! i# `screenings; and fosters and develops a dynamic media arts community in Northern ' Y1 X0 N3 a% q. E2 u) N! g

/ ]% F8 Y* X, b) xJob Description: The Librarian will report to the Executive Director and work with the
2 J6 Y" l. T: g2 `0 V- F" I5 XFAVA staff by organizing and updating two libraries: the film, video and digital library; as ' U: y+ L/ @+ O% J
well as the script, magazine and book library.

- Sort and catalogue the film, video and digital library 3 h8 _: d1 t% i; u' X, s
- Sort and catalogue scripts, magazine and books 0 N' D6 q- r7 k1 c- ?
- Implement a catalogue template for future use
: M4 g6 C: a9 f! n% l3 Y) L, X- Update and develop loaning policy and procedure / z6 ^& i: ^ n8 [7 F3 s* {: W
- Enforce FAVA’s standard of use policies where applicable

secondary training, university preferred

- Length of position: 10 consecutive weeks

- Experience or training in library sciences preferred 0 D9 h! N4 B6 g
- Exceptional communication skills, written and verbal / ` y8 i- `4 r- y0 v$ r. }
- Strong team player abilities # O0 h0 @7 Z t3 O) d- w
- Interest in working for an arts organization that is governed by a Board of Directors 1 s% v6 s6 e, _ Y" ]3 A
