FAVA is currently looking for a Librarian to join the FAVA team for 10 weeks in the
4 N. {% Y8 ^* Xsummer of 2009. FAVA is a non-profit, charitable organization whose mandate is to
# X0 E+ z1 y* u) F( V1 N6 esupport the production and exhibition of film, video and media artists from Northern
( Q3 F0 ?, o) O9 h5 MAlberta. " t( u# o( X; A0 J' P/ D0 c
( @; F6 H0 }1 @- }FAVA serves members with diverse backgrounds and levels of experience, ranging from 1 X; }" p! Y" F b
emerging, mid-range to established artists with an unwavering passion for film, video ( Z0 X8 p0 G6 |( C( J
and media art. FAVA offers: a variety of workshops for artistic and skill development; is a
! y) N3 J& H; Sresource for production equipment and post-production facilities; hosts events and
0 U2 [) i6 E/ Zscreenings; and fosters and develops a dynamic media arts community in Northern , j, Z4 ?- n9 g9 S5 U* M3 o* j
Alberta.

- l0 c' Y e" ]7 f8 @/ x+ zJob Description: The Librarian will report to the Executive Director and work with the
$ Y- t7 v' ]% i, [; [; |FAVA staff by organizing and updating two libraries: the film, video and digital library; as % E" z& p, `! y7 T0 {
well as the script, magazine and book library.

- Sort and catalogue the film, video and digital library 9 |& r: ]. a2 A. z' \/ N
- Sort and catalogue scripts, magazine and books : i F/ v/ m+ H6 t( g' L( h0 b
- Implement a catalogue template for future use ! E! E1 ]4 H6 d9 P4 y+ {8 t5 C
- Update and develop loaning policy and procedure
3 F" a- S0 h, b' `$ `# P- Enforce FAVA’s standard of use policies where applicable

Qualifications: The ideal candidate will have:
8 o3 X' V8 ?6 z h m- A passionate interest in film, video and media arts
/ e7 V0 V0 c4 T: B8 M- Strong organizational skills 6 S$ }+ k% u; B1 y
- Experience or training in library sciences preferred
* Z* a% r8 N+ S& e' _- e1 @4 s, w- Exceptional communication skills, written and verbal
$ V% k! s& F8 j8 D- Strong team player abilities
