FAVA is currently looking for a Librarian to join the FAVA team for 10 weeks in the
- X0 w. Q2 {0 h+ Nsummer of 2009. FAVA is a non-profit, charitable organization whose mandate is to
9 I& h8 ^3 u6 E. d7 H3 usupport the production and exhibition of film, video and media artists from Northern % x0 M" U3 h2 J4 Y2 m% B
Alberta.

FAVA serves members with diverse backgrounds and levels of experience, ranging from " F! y/ j3 q# X$ R8 w0 {1 \1 p
emerging, mid-range to established artists with an unwavering passion for film, video
# i1 s2 h* Z( ~4 K0 R* n5 uand media art. FAVA offers: a variety of workshops for artistic and skill development; is a : t: d; k- }7 T& Q, `8 r
resource for production equipment and post-production facilities; hosts events and
7 Q4 q9 a: C# lscreenings; and fosters and develops a dynamic media arts community in Northern

Job Description: The Librarian will report to the Executive Director and work with the * z, J+ X- q) _
FAVA staff by organizing and updating two libraries: the film, video and digital library; as # n" W3 e' H% N8 ]5 d
well as the script, magazine and book library.

Duties:
' _2 C$ G. U, V- Sort and catalogue the film, video and digital library ! Q( X- p& U) G
- Sort and catalogue scripts, magazine and books + @, R- I# `0 C0 V, @
- Implement a catalogue template for future use
& u# K1 p4 o3 w5 H4 i2 r- Update and develop loaning policy and procedure * O# A7 W6 j$ w# c8 G' l0 Z
- Enforce FAVA’s standard of use policies where applicable 8 t& l; p! I3 G# R

- Applicants must be unemployed and attending (or have recently completed) a post-! c% T2 i \# s6 M! \! p" K
secondary training, university preferred ! l) x3 N. E ? F" a# w+ G7 h
- Wage is $15.00 per hour, 35 hours per week 1 s3 i" J7 p9 C- X- V( }
- Length of position: 10 consecutive weeks

Qualifications: The ideal candidate will have: / i, }* I( }/ K4 i3 J5 j
- A passionate interest in film, video and media arts
& H6 m) }0 b: u: @. [; J+ A- Strong organizational skills ! ^% z$ o R+ M
- Experience or training in library sciences preferred
