FAVA is currently looking for a Librarian to join the FAVA team for 10 weeks in the
8 m& V! [" l1 o3 J Y. _ X! Hsummer of 2009. FAVA is a non-profit, charitable organization whose mandate is to " X6 e# ^/ t. ^- G
support the production and exhibition of film, video and media artists from Northern
0 c, i+ w2 N+ N5 q9 t+ xAlberta.

2 F- w* i; t0 ?: XFAVA serves members with diverse backgrounds and levels of experience, ranging from 0 U( F j5 q: X1 a4 m) q5 y( V
emerging, mid-range to established artists with an unwavering passion for film, video , }* i+ Q; @& Y$ I5 f8 {; O
and media art. FAVA offers: a variety of workshops for artistic and skill development; is a
* R8 q- |/ T% ?' K. X$ Xresource for production equipment and post-production facilities; hosts events and % F2 j% E f% s: B1 S) r9 h7 n
screenings; and fosters and develops a dynamic media arts community in Northern

Job Description: The Librarian will report to the Executive Director and work with the 8 E" P, T5 }7 `8 [6 S
FAVA staff by organizing and updating two libraries: the film, video and digital library; as ; f6 F3 D) y7 D* M5 ?. o5 j
well as the script, magazine and book library. ' |1 q3 P! C J0 B/ r8 F

Duties:
5 X5 _, O+ e; v6 u6 N( r- N- Sort and catalogue the film, video and digital library 1 j6 p1 k' N; Q* ?; Y% B
- Sort and catalogue scripts, magazine and books
, P R+ z# U( H+ K& j6 ^- Implement a catalogue template for future use
, k; D* R, L$ _- Update and develop loaning policy and procedure
1 c/ c$ b, L. b! ^& S6 Y- Enforce FAVA’s standard of use policies where applicable

- Applicants must be unemployed and attending (or have recently completed) a post-
$ V! s9 b/ a2 k2 n7 b( ksecondary training, university preferred ) F) a# a0 Z" Q6 f5 ]/ s
- Wage is $15.00 per hour, 35 hours per week

Qualifications: The ideal candidate will have: ) }: s- [- h- A% A
- A passionate interest in film, video and media arts

- Experience or training in library sciences preferred
* `2 w9 r( T2 ]+ v K1 W1 T% d# ?- Exceptional communication skills, written and verbal
