FAVA is currently looking for a Librarian to join the FAVA team for 10 weeks in the
summer of 2009. FAVA is a non-profit, charitable organization whose mandate is to
$ C  p4 \6 ], P$ f! jsupport the production and exhibition of film, video and media artists from Northern
Alberta.

( {* ]$ D; S" j# _, B( VFAVA serves members with diverse backgrounds and levels of experience, ranging from
emerging, mid-range to established artists with an unwavering passion for film, video
and media art. FAVA offers: a variety of workshops for artistic and skill development; is a
resource for production equipment and post-production facilities; hosts events and
screenings; and fosters and develops a dynamic media arts community in Northern

1 c) u8 T% t7 h- X' L% J7 NJob Description: The Librarian will report to the Executive Director and work with the
FAVA staff by organizing and updating two libraries: the film, video and digital library; as
) ?; o/ T( P7 {& i9 [well as the script, magazine and book library.

Duties:
- Sort and catalogue the film, video and digital library
- Sort and catalogue scripts, magazine and books
- Implement a catalogue template for future use
) u/ e  q) u5 R# q, Z. t1 U# l- Update and develop loaning policy and procedure
- Enforce FAVA’s standard of use policies where applicable

- Applicants must be unemployed and attending (or have recently completed) a post-
$ M1 y' W9 x9 R9 J8 O1 a. i( Msecondary training, university preferred
- Wage is $15.00 per hour, 35 hours per week
8 N+ w0 X" r8 q1 V' T- Length of position: 10 consecutive weeks

Qualifications: The ideal candidate will have:
8 W0 e! F: d% v- I4 ~( n0 Y- A passionate interest in film, video and media arts
- Strong organizational skills
- Experience or training in library sciences preferred
- Exceptional communication skills, written and verbal  
1 X9 _0 W9 k7 Z- Strong team player abilities
- Interest in working for an arts organization that is governed by a Board of Directors

I have already sent an e-mail to ed@fava.ca but got nothing confirming receipt of my application...
I have 3 years librarian expeirence in U of A, and believe I can fit in this postion perfectly.
