summer of 2009. FAVA is a non-profit, charitable organization whose mandate is to

" }* ?4 L. l0 T# l4 X& }and media art. FAVA offers: a variety of workshops for artistic and skill development; is a 2 {. P, O( y' K P
resource for production equipment and post-production facilities; hosts events and ) u* h+ p# N5 H+ G
screenings; and fosters and develops a dynamic media arts community in Northern

Job Description: The Librarian will report to the Executive Director and work with the
$ C! V: ~6 t& }- Y4 `FAVA staff by organizing and updating two libraries: the film, video and digital library; as % K# \( `" q9 z$ ^) w
well as the script, magazine and book library. 1 y3 {: e4 T5 _
" w1 o# y0 W+ J- ^3 m) j4 i
Duties:
" q+ b) v' @4 `) D- Sort and catalogue the film, video and digital library
9 ^8 V* z0 `+ c0 b0 d5 d- Sort and catalogue scripts, magazine and books
: H& [ x# }8 n- T/ u- Implement a catalogue template for future use 7 ]; G( [2 h+ Z0 F( W
- Update and develop loaning policy and procedure : H# V! p4 J* I O5 k4 n7 N
- Enforce FAVA’s standard of use policies where applicable

Qualifications: The ideal candidate will have: , D6 B, { H, z
- A passionate interest in film, video and media arts
+ ^% |& b7 |, N. E0 @6 C; W" Q: M- Strong organizational skills
J: k$ H5 M1 X: w; f- Experience or training in library sciences preferred
h+ Z6 |+ p, Z4 r8 t3 u- Exceptional communication skills, written and verbal

- Interest in working for an arts organization that is governed by a Board of Directors
