$ _0 v: B3 b8 j2 \$ B2 f/ FFAVA is currently looking for a Librarian to join the FAVA team for 10 weeks in the
summer of 2009. FAVA is a non-profit, charitable organization whose mandate is to
support the production and exhibition of film, video and media artists from Northern
Alberta.

5 v8 x9 c+ e; F& _4 RFAVA serves members with diverse backgrounds and levels of experience, ranging from
" v% b( {* _, \% R8 X/ Qemerging, mid-range to established artists with an unwavering passion for film, video
and media art. FAVA offers: a variety of workshops for artistic and skill development; is a
resource for production equipment and post-production facilities; hosts events and
- u2 e7 M7 k6 R% L2 t  Pscreenings; and fosters and develops a dynamic media arts community in Northern
, j9 }& R7 ~: m$ \Alberta.

& @, d; C. j4 `3 wJob Description: The Librarian will report to the Executive Director and work with the
: o7 H! L3 u2 u) ^1 u( @0 n' S$ XFAVA staff by organizing and updating two libraries: the film, video and digital library; as
well as the script, magazine and book library.

5 a) V" M: b/ ]Duties:
- Sort and catalogue the film, video and digital library
! d" J, v% P: b5 T8 {- Sort and catalogue scripts, magazine and books
- Implement a catalogue template for future use
  M' ^( g: n$ x- w6 o5 Z) R# v- Update and develop loaning policy and procedure
- Enforce FAVA’s standard of use policies where applicable

Details:
- Funding for this position is provided by the Summer Temporary Employment Program
(STEP)
- Applicants must be unemployed and attending (or have recently completed) a post-
secondary training, university preferred
* W/ h+ j: m* r* ]- Wage is $15.00 per hour, 35 hours per week
- Length of position: 10 consecutive weeks

Qualifications: The ideal candidate will have:
- A passionate interest in film, video and media arts
) O5 ^* Q4 Q% @- Strong organizational skills
1 g- t8 w5 z9 L$ R& b- Experience or training in library sciences preferred
" p& {& ]- W( w! L" D- Exceptional communication skills, written and verbal

& _! e' Z' Q! t5 f% d- Interest in working for an arts organization that is governed by a Board of Directors
