: ^% C9 O2 w3 M( d, d3 jFAVA is currently looking for a Librarian to join the FAVA team for 10 weeks in the
summer of 2009. FAVA is a non-profit, charitable organization whose mandate is to
support the production and exhibition of film, video and media artists from Northern
Alberta.

" y6 U: ~8 t) ~3 U8 y+ ]* UFAVA serves members with diverse backgrounds and levels of experience, ranging from
+ f$ t" \- V0 G" U$ l3 e" yemerging, mid-range to established artists with an unwavering passion for film, video
and media art. FAVA offers: a variety of workshops for artistic and skill development; is a
! |; i  A+ ~1 a" P0 Iresource for production equipment and post-production facilities; hosts events and
screenings; and fosters and develops a dynamic media arts community in Northern
Alberta.

Job Description: The Librarian will report to the Executive Director and work with the
$ a, B( U  S0 e) E2 x# `FAVA staff by organizing and updating two libraries: the film, video and digital library; as
well as the script, magazine and book library.

Duties:
% B' o8 ]7 x: G' {- Sort and catalogue the film, video and digital library
# q7 l) d+ n6 m/ e- Sort and catalogue scripts, magazine and books
; `: u$ P; ~# A! I. ~5 ~1 q- Implement a catalogue template for future use
- Update and develop loaning policy and procedure
, k3 [7 V' v3 ~7 @9 i. \' z- Enforce FAVA’s standard of use policies where applicable

- Funding for this position is provided by the Summer Temporary Employment Program
& ?7 N& M( _$ n  S1 t(STEP)
- Applicants must be unemployed and attending (or have recently completed) a post-
; [1 `# L: D: }$ n: q# O: \, E6 fsecondary training, university preferred

- Length of position: 10 consecutive weeks

- A passionate interest in film, video and media arts
' M+ `" c& D; H0 f9 U0 U- Strong organizational skills
- Experience or training in library sciences preferred
1 Z, Z/ B. Z$ v5 q- Exceptional communication skills, written and verbal  
- Strong team player abilities
- Interest in working for an arts organization that is governed by a Board of Directors
