/ k6 Z4 w0 D+ e1 k- [# Psummer of 2009. FAVA is a non-profit, charitable organization whose mandate is to
8 v4 t4 F! ~6 a4 C" Tsupport the production and exhibition of film, video and media artists from Northern
' |7 q! C: T! d$ rAlberta.

: u4 }% O6 T( aFAVA serves members with diverse backgrounds and levels of experience, ranging from
1 D; U3 C0 c$ {: x. Nemerging, mid-range to established artists with an unwavering passion for film, video
and media art. FAVA offers: a variety of workshops for artistic and skill development; is a
resource for production equipment and post-production facilities; hosts events and
0 D) ?8 x9 Z+ V4 v& rscreenings; and fosters and develops a dynamic media arts community in Northern
Alberta.

% ?6 m# y/ [& U" _% f- G' ?Job Description: The Librarian will report to the Executive Director and work with the
FAVA staff by organizing and updating two libraries: the film, video and digital library; as
well as the script, magazine and book library.

Duties:
3 O* Y# S3 y+ R, T1 y- Sort and catalogue the film, video and digital library
4 q9 |6 ]: ]8 C- Sort and catalogue scripts, magazine and books
! q, W7 d, [0 H' ~- Implement a catalogue template for future use
- Update and develop loaning policy and procedure
- Enforce FAVA’s standard of use policies where applicable

0 H+ x. r: a$ l% O0 \+ X, y- Funding for this position is provided by the Summer Temporary Employment Program
(STEP)
- Applicants must be unemployed and attending (or have recently completed) a post-
secondary training, university preferred
- Wage is $15.00 per hour, 35 hours per week
- Length of position: 10 consecutive weeks

* _$ \' U- ~. R' U  U3 }% W- A passionate interest in film, video and media arts
- Strong organizational skills
- Experience or training in library sciences preferred
1 q) H& c! Q! q* v- Exceptional communication skills, written and verbal  
- Strong team player abilities
- Interest in working for an arts organization that is governed by a Board of Directors
