$ O* q! `, N# u7 ^/ G( ~FAVA is currently looking for a Librarian to join the FAVA team for 10 weeks in the
summer of 2009. FAVA is a non-profit, charitable organization whose mandate is to
/ k6 u; v9 v$ J: y% tsupport the production and exhibition of film, video and media artists from Northern
2 B/ g4 V" S: g5 B  QAlberta.

FAVA serves members with diverse backgrounds and levels of experience, ranging from
emerging, mid-range to established artists with an unwavering passion for film, video
* l5 Y7 A# _5 P& _8 Band media art. FAVA offers: a variety of workshops for artistic and skill development; is a
resource for production equipment and post-production facilities; hosts events and
screenings; and fosters and develops a dynamic media arts community in Northern
Alberta.

0 x" X6 O# M! eJob Description: The Librarian will report to the Executive Director and work with the
' j% Y6 p* n2 I5 E1 c9 U3 `) CFAVA staff by organizing and updating two libraries: the film, video and digital library; as
well as the script, magazine and book library.

' M+ q. b- a& X- EDuties:
2 F- U" p; l. f- Sort and catalogue the film, video and digital library
+ A( |3 M. I0 X- Sort and catalogue scripts, magazine and books
- Implement a catalogue template for future use
- Update and develop loaning policy and procedure
. h6 ~" `4 Y& [9 p% }- Enforce FAVA’s standard of use policies where applicable

- Applicants must be unemployed and attending (or have recently completed) a post-
. m: X# ?# R/ ]2 I: c' i; c0 @) lsecondary training, university preferred
- Wage is $15.00 per hour, 35 hours per week
1 `$ v. G1 ?# o+ S8 V- Length of position: 10 consecutive weeks

% j: n: s, a) |( f' fQualifications: The ideal candidate will have:
- A passionate interest in film, video and media arts
6 y3 B0 h+ Z$ E* y: J3 G, ^! Z- Strong organizational skills
- T+ ^! Y% ]5 N- Experience or training in library sciences preferred
! A, o* ^4 N$ }  V. C- Exceptional communication skills, written and verbal  
- Strong team player abilities
- Interest in working for an arts organization that is governed by a Board of Directors
