9 V3 A8 n. N1 d7 s& W2 EFAVA is currently looking for a Librarian to join the FAVA team for 10 weeks in the
summer of 2009. FAVA is a non-profit, charitable organization whose mandate is to
support the production and exhibition of film, video and media artists from Northern
) h) U0 U( j+ P5 U1 @/ B- m' rAlberta.

FAVA serves members with diverse backgrounds and levels of experience, ranging from
emerging, mid-range to established artists with an unwavering passion for film, video
9 [# K& T& z0 c: q& F+ t# U- o& ^and media art. FAVA offers: a variety of workshops for artistic and skill development; is a
! F' |) \, P8 Q' x5 z# p+ e' vresource for production equipment and post-production facilities; hosts events and
7 K: M4 _# ^0 `2 x* Pscreenings; and fosters and develops a dynamic media arts community in Northern
  F9 }) S5 Y3 ^$ q, S: t# aAlberta.

! W% h& y# u2 `: a& qJob Description: The Librarian will report to the Executive Director and work with the
FAVA staff by organizing and updating two libraries: the film, video and digital library; as
well as the script, magazine and book library.

. Q1 \8 u3 _/ fDuties:
- Sort and catalogue the film, video and digital library
- Sort and catalogue scripts, magazine and books
- Implement a catalogue template for future use
- Update and develop loaning policy and procedure
- Enforce FAVA’s standard of use policies where applicable

- Applicants must be unemployed and attending (or have recently completed) a post-
secondary training, university preferred
9 |2 n  Z% J! L6 V- Wage is $15.00 per hour, 35 hours per week
- Length of position: 10 consecutive weeks

Qualifications: The ideal candidate will have:
- A passionate interest in film, video and media arts
0 ]8 `* F+ J. S" W2 s- Strong organizational skills
* S2 n6 W# N% Y! _- Experience or training in library sciences preferred
9 y. e  u+ h+ w5 |- Exceptional communication skills, written and verbal  
- Strong team player abilities

I have 3 years librarian expeirence in U of A, and believe I can fit in this postion perfectly.
