FAVA is currently looking for a Librarian to join the FAVA team for 10 weeks in the " C& l7 t- G+ \& S1 w, y
summer of 2009. FAVA is a non-profit, charitable organization whose mandate is to + X5 H! p, `" z! D
support the production and exhibition of film, video and media artists from Northern ; X2 ~! M. n" z! g \+ c4 o! q
Alberta. # D: i2 E o: T# P
+ E; T; Z3 T: V( A/ k0 rFAVA serves members with diverse backgrounds and levels of experience, ranging from
; @* c" t8 _/ m: N) cemerging, mid-range to established artists with an unwavering passion for film, video # b; N' S* V( O
and media art. FAVA offers: a variety of workshops for artistic and skill development; is a : O; p0 M$ ?7 `. ~% d+ `6 D/ @
resource for production equipment and post-production facilities; hosts events and

" Q: e* K) u% [8 e+ X' DJob Description: The Librarian will report to the Executive Director and work with the
/ v/ a; ]: R1 `3 eFAVA staff by organizing and updating two libraries: the film, video and digital library; as
% @0 f. v0 b$ C9 W" E3 b' ]& Vwell as the script, magazine and book library.

Duties:
+ K. \/ n( H# J9 n7 U) \6 K9 W5 c- Sort and catalogue the film, video and digital library
4 `7 Y5 \8 o( U6 k" g5 [( h, p# O$ v- Sort and catalogue scripts, magazine and books 3 j6 r' K$ n4 D/ c
- Implement a catalogue template for future use
. s1 ~, G5 |3 h7 T% u+ _& P- Update and develop loaning policy and procedure
) y1 ^6 a: @9 _) n8 q( J- Enforce FAVA’s standard of use policies where applicable ( V5 X: u" | F% H/ V

Qualifications: The ideal candidate will have: , P/ ]3 T1 [( ?
- A passionate interest in film, video and media arts
) c, g* @# h+ }% Q( i- Strong organizational skills

- Interest in working for an arts organization that is governed by a Board of Directors
