FAVA is currently looking for a Librarian to join the FAVA team for 10 weeks in the
# m V. V( s- o7 z7 M' x3 N- xsummer of 2009. FAVA is a non-profit, charitable organization whose mandate is to

FAVA serves members with diverse backgrounds and levels of experience, ranging from : {* f5 \! |) V" \$ ?
emerging, mid-range to established artists with an unwavering passion for film, video
5 {+ c! |1 a4 Rand media art. FAVA offers: a variety of workshops for artistic and skill development; is a
$ M! k8 Z+ U% {( ~" uresource for production equipment and post-production facilities; hosts events and " {% L# g0 _) D
screenings; and fosters and develops a dynamic media arts community in Northern & g3 H, F/ q0 L: o
Alberta.

Job Description: The Librarian will report to the Executive Director and work with the . T* W, m4 x' C: m% N' U
FAVA staff by organizing and updating two libraries: the film, video and digital library; as

Duties:
' I+ H$ i8 }% r: ?! N* x- Sort and catalogue the film, video and digital library m# ?* S" j7 O" G7 v
- Sort and catalogue scripts, magazine and books * _8 }* \, _" Y, X3 j; [
- Implement a catalogue template for future use
, n2 e/ B" E* @4 a. i! y2 `* F- Update and develop loaning policy and procedure 6 |0 {2 P" x! @; @/ ?5 `
- Enforce FAVA’s standard of use policies where applicable

secondary training, university preferred

- A passionate interest in film, video and media arts

) _/ m; j0 }" }) ]- Experience or training in library sciences preferred
