- e  |# z' G, U- }9 R0 G/ Z9 MFAVA is currently looking for a Librarian to join the FAVA team for 10 weeks in the
summer of 2009. FAVA is a non-profit, charitable organization whose mandate is to
support the production and exhibition of film, video and media artists from Northern
7 p* X: {+ r' L5 G; z- w8 IAlberta.

FAVA serves members with diverse backgrounds and levels of experience, ranging from
emerging, mid-range to established artists with an unwavering passion for film, video
$ G9 [* D: e6 I1 D4 O+ \and media art. FAVA offers: a variety of workshops for artistic and skill development; is a
# J/ {/ T$ U% \3 U/ \$ B/ Iresource for production equipment and post-production facilities; hosts events and
; }5 t7 x0 V& Escreenings; and fosters and develops a dynamic media arts community in Northern
Alberta.

Job Description: The Librarian will report to the Executive Director and work with the
FAVA staff by organizing and updating two libraries: the film, video and digital library; as
  h/ X& M' {" H, g' Rwell as the script, magazine and book library.

Duties:
- Sort and catalogue the film, video and digital library
: P2 v1 o0 _( E  `7 o! R) {+ F0 L- Sort and catalogue scripts, magazine and books
- Implement a catalogue template for future use
8 m  |& |# @& Z2 @- Update and develop loaning policy and procedure
% h9 B+ p7 Q- [( A. M$ N) s- Enforce FAVA’s standard of use policies where applicable

+ E9 u4 O& V( l6 ]* U/ J- o5 d- Funding for this position is provided by the Summer Temporary Employment Program
(STEP)
- Applicants must be unemployed and attending (or have recently completed) a post-
6 w. I1 ]' m7 {" V+ ~( }& f0 b% lsecondary training, university preferred
, z* t: o" v. Y" Y- Wage is $15.00 per hour, 35 hours per week
- Length of position: 10 consecutive weeks

- J$ @5 G8 B0 I8 S7 R- N3 I5 t- A passionate interest in film, video and media arts
* P. Q; {/ `% w' I3 L9 }- Strong organizational skills
- Experience or training in library sciences preferred
- Exceptional communication skills, written and verbal  
- Strong team player abilities
