FAVA is currently looking for a Librarian to join the FAVA team for 10 weeks in the
$ A. x# o9 s% c( Fsummer of 2009. FAVA is a non-profit, charitable organization whose mandate is to 0 Z3 ~8 k% X5 z
support the production and exhibition of film, video and media artists from Northern + M7 B; P2 b0 }+ V

FAVA serves members with diverse backgrounds and levels of experience, ranging from 2 \4 ~; I$ v: a$ }7 {) G
emerging, mid-range to established artists with an unwavering passion for film, video 4 x. h" z9 }/ G* B" [
and media art. FAVA offers: a variety of workshops for artistic and skill development; is a
8 O' E( }0 `* eresource for production equipment and post-production facilities; hosts events and
; ^9 Y+ c0 n9 m' v* T. P9 E9 a- Sscreenings; and fosters and develops a dynamic media arts community in Northern

Job Description: The Librarian will report to the Executive Director and work with the ; Z1 D7 W# z6 ^0 t( N9 W
FAVA staff by organizing and updating two libraries: the film, video and digital library; as y. c0 X# t. t0 a/ z
well as the script, magazine and book library. " N5 g/ h% P) x: b/ y8 t- B2 X6 x

6 t; }: `* F/ y0 G' M3 N- Sort and catalogue the film, video and digital library 6 P+ t( n5 w2 z6 E; H, N9 {
- Sort and catalogue scripts, magazine and books
$ d9 G- Y" E( s/ d' W$ R) r- Implement a catalogue template for future use
" V5 f/ r8 \2 A! h& ~5 v% b- Update and develop loaning policy and procedure
3 U. {& L7 @' ^% S2 J; c2 G- Enforce FAVA’s standard of use policies where applicable

- Wage is $15.00 per hour, 35 hours per week

- Experience or training in library sciences preferred * d# k* i3 e5 k& c8 b5 x: t
- Exceptional communication skills, written and verbal ( f5 V2 X0 Z* w7 t
- Strong team player abilities
