, a6 L7 [) P6 n; ~5 UFAVA is currently looking for a Librarian to join the FAVA team for 10 weeks in the
2 L, j7 p# ~8 U! j: m/ gsummer of 2009. FAVA is a non-profit, charitable organization whose mandate is to
5 }3 K! R" X8 n# ?2 H! Fsupport the production and exhibition of film, video and media artists from Northern
6 H% [4 p; e' u2 @0 K& _! ]2 n) FAlberta.

. p; T+ |) i- S& n. L  {: JFAVA serves members with diverse backgrounds and levels of experience, ranging from
, V% {" W  o7 \' e* ^; zemerging, mid-range to established artists with an unwavering passion for film, video
8 }2 N0 i( @4 F! k- fand media art. FAVA offers: a variety of workshops for artistic and skill development; is a
resource for production equipment and post-production facilities; hosts events and
screenings; and fosters and develops a dynamic media arts community in Northern
Alberta.

6 @7 q' _0 x* S+ `8 c1 H: ?1 OJob Description: The Librarian will report to the Executive Director and work with the
: Z8 k  G* {7 I1 h8 l8 SFAVA staff by organizing and updating two libraries: the film, video and digital library; as
well as the script, magazine and book library.

  [* E# R) ]: ^! d* a( R8 xDuties:
- Sort and catalogue the film, video and digital library
3 s/ y! n1 }0 Z0 @- Sort and catalogue scripts, magazine and books
- Implement a catalogue template for future use
- Update and develop loaning policy and procedure
' t- b# _7 C3 `% v2 e9 S/ V- Enforce FAVA’s standard of use policies where applicable

- Funding for this position is provided by the Summer Temporary Employment Program

+ b" B& b& L+ O- Applicants must be unemployed and attending (or have recently completed) a post-
secondary training, university preferred
* ~0 _8 a0 }& W5 M0 h- Wage is $15.00 per hour, 35 hours per week
$ m+ T: B* A4 s# C6 m+ E4 n$ N- e1 S* L- Length of position: 10 consecutive weeks

  @9 c0 J) d6 \' ]; X" A, p4 L- A passionate interest in film, video and media arts
- Strong organizational skills

- Exceptional communication skills, written and verbal  
- Strong team player abilities

I have 3 years librarian expeirence in U of A, and believe I can fit in this postion perfectly.
