FAVA is currently looking for a Librarian to join the FAVA team for 10 weeks in the 3 B. Z: S. j8 \6 I* T F
summer of 2009. FAVA is a non-profit, charitable organization whose mandate is to

& w3 C' @+ a- {: r- v& pand media art. FAVA offers: a variety of workshops for artistic and skill development; is a
3 G' r O, e. [4 b8 ?# mresource for production equipment and post-production facilities; hosts events and x$ t& ^5 l3 y9 e0 c, n% E) z& [2 J
screenings; and fosters and develops a dynamic media arts community in Northern " a2 U# [6 X' x7 m& x3 d

Job Description: The Librarian will report to the Executive Director and work with the
% f2 J9 h& ?2 j7 U qFAVA staff by organizing and updating two libraries: the film, video and digital library; as ; w% o1 z9 F. D7 F) l& w) ?
well as the script, magazine and book library. 3 l; d1 P) e/ k: k/ y

- Sort and catalogue the film, video and digital library 5 ]7 Q7 W5 J. t4 }. M# i6 m
- Sort and catalogue scripts, magazine and books
# R7 s1 N3 U8 k+ E; b- Implement a catalogue template for future use
1 T0 s" j8 Y1 V6 n, b& C- Update and develop loaning policy and procedure 1 Z! _* I3 _! ?; {1 A7 ^9 j) B
- Enforce FAVA’s standard of use policies where applicable ! N5 M( @2 H" E3 i

- Wage is $15.00 per hour, 35 hours per week

Qualifications: The ideal candidate will have:

- Strong organizational skills % Z, Z2 R% S d4 |8 J) w- u* C1 K
- Experience or training in library sciences preferred 9 `; ~4 n. r8 e9 ]/ y9 z
- Exceptional communication skills, written and verbal 5 M* w* {% B5 O7 O9 a8 ?
- Strong team player abilities 1 e% {8 j2 F. M) Z3 Y, Q& L
- Interest in working for an arts organization that is governed by a Board of Directors
