FAVA is currently looking for a Librarian to join the FAVA team for 10 weeks in the ; Y7 a, ^& K! \5 B; q- S
summer of 2009. FAVA is a non-profit, charitable organization whose mandate is to
+ {4 N8 M1 C3 h' V, o0 M: N! }support the production and exhibition of film, video and media artists from Northern 9 v9 v2 R2 c7 D! z; K
Alberta.

FAVA serves members with diverse backgrounds and levels of experience, ranging from 9 U% n( ]: w) I$ F, R! Y3 `5 }3 x
emerging, mid-range to established artists with an unwavering passion for film, video
- X! q/ f4 L/ u& band media art. FAVA offers: a variety of workshops for artistic and skill development; is a ! z! y8 I8 t, a3 ` u
resource for production equipment and post-production facilities; hosts events and
& A7 }8 t" U3 E3 N& e; kscreenings; and fosters and develops a dynamic media arts community in Northern ; w) H4 `. }" V3 m

7 e6 r4 [ N, o& q9 Y, f; P1 e' wJob Description: The Librarian will report to the Executive Director and work with the
6 H# x. I. f) c$ M, Y- MFAVA staff by organizing and updating two libraries: the film, video and digital library; as
7 H2 t9 V3 Y: `+ pwell as the script, magazine and book library.

- Sort and catalogue the film, video and digital library 8 G4 d! I+ i* V$ C% o) B* ]2 T2 T
- Sort and catalogue scripts, magazine and books ) w& `2 k2 u/ h! }% o1 J
- Implement a catalogue template for future use " n& c! z0 V8 q. }$ T, D
- Update and develop loaning policy and procedure + k/ T- N0 d" w/ ~
- Enforce FAVA’s standard of use policies where applicable

secondary training, university preferred

Qualifications: The ideal candidate will have: 9 B' a+ R4 S* o+ d8 M7 ]+ G6 y
- A passionate interest in film, video and media arts 4 g7 j' z1 |% S' h
- Strong organizational skills
5 T9 {6 f2 j& l2 e: D2 ^- Experience or training in library sciences preferred

- Strong team player abilities
