FAVA is currently looking for a Librarian to join the FAVA team for 10 weeks in the
- s4 A( p' P3 r" f2 w ~2 nsummer of 2009. FAVA is a non-profit, charitable organization whose mandate is to ( C6 T' ^% a; @+ q# B4 N% ~
support the production and exhibition of film, video and media artists from Northern . z4 }' {: N x8 T6 j* r, @

( z3 U4 g# L' IFAVA serves members with diverse backgrounds and levels of experience, ranging from
* G" d* x% U# L0 X1 X: G. @emerging, mid-range to established artists with an unwavering passion for film, video
6 a" u4 g/ y$ E7 j+ ]& yand media art. FAVA offers: a variety of workshops for artistic and skill development; is a
( p% H8 X4 u, N# B0 c; wresource for production equipment and post-production facilities; hosts events and ; x7 s0 e* M, Y
screenings; and fosters and develops a dynamic media arts community in Northern

" `% [2 { p/ L& c7 _( KJob Description: The Librarian will report to the Executive Director and work with the
0 h' v" @8 M$ ?( s9 Y4 u! IFAVA staff by organizing and updating two libraries: the film, video and digital library; as
* O( N0 j& l5 K6 W" l6 j* f/ vwell as the script, magazine and book library.

- Sort and catalogue the film, video and digital library
& }2 V& T( P" Z" O. f& u! u- Sort and catalogue scripts, magazine and books : x3 E- ~9 m8 A, D' y# n1 p8 {% P, }3 u
- Implement a catalogue template for future use
/ R( x, P: ~7 d- Update and develop loaning policy and procedure

- Applicants must be unemployed and attending (or have recently completed) a post-! m& k0 B( v, K" z4 `/ Q
secondary training, university preferred $ x: b4 k5 y; l' X0 n& V6 u
- Wage is $15.00 per hour, 35 hours per week 8 n/ {0 W5 h' ]7 ^' o2 u
- Length of position: 10 consecutive weeks

Qualifications: The ideal candidate will have: ( i: H' B# ^" [% y
- A passionate interest in film, video and media arts & ?2 w; @4 B9 u F- P7 B* Z
- Strong organizational skills
a) p6 O7 T# B* A2 X5 t- Experience or training in library sciences preferred # t% o/ Q/ o% J( X
- Exceptional communication skills, written and verbal
! a) K8 g9 v5 t; T- Strong team player abilities
