FAVA is currently looking for a Librarian to join the FAVA team for 10 weeks in the
, `& t/ i9 \- L+ q; _summer of 2009. FAVA is a non-profit, charitable organization whose mandate is to

FAVA serves members with diverse backgrounds and levels of experience, ranging from " W4 a7 w7 T* w2 c2 p6 G
emerging, mid-range to established artists with an unwavering passion for film, video 0 z* }# {2 Y+ e4 f0 i
and media art. FAVA offers: a variety of workshops for artistic and skill development; is a 3 K; J) R! E% g5 `# H3 }- i0 ~
resource for production equipment and post-production facilities; hosts events and . o7 A$ s% w. H( c m1 d( K
screenings; and fosters and develops a dynamic media arts community in Northern ' D0 ]' m6 X$ j2 U9 \/ z2 M* F! ]

Job Description: The Librarian will report to the Executive Director and work with the
( ~8 h- k$ M- |& {+ ^% \( `( cFAVA staff by organizing and updating two libraries: the film, video and digital library; as : c5 G8 y5 [+ j7 ?
well as the script, magazine and book library. * q9 o# W" I1 L# L0 d7 [
& ?( h$ m l I0 z6 i& TDuties:
8 ?3 E, C0 n: |1 q9 q- Sort and catalogue the film, video and digital library
1 y9 Z, {5 p& S- Sort and catalogue scripts, magazine and books " N' o0 ?' n, ?' @. D8 d P' J
- Implement a catalogue template for future use ' R1 Z9 U4 s; y5 U
- Update and develop loaning policy and procedure a, u' q* p0 t
- Enforce FAVA’s standard of use policies where applicable 4 D# g' Q7 D$ N. ~8 U) ]8 ?

- Applicants must be unemployed and attending (or have recently completed) a post-

- Wage is $15.00 per hour, 35 hours per week

Qualifications: The ideal candidate will have:

- Experience or training in library sciences preferred 1 b7 d9 w- ~0 m8 _7 n/ M4 T

- Strong team player abilities
