FAVA is currently looking for a Librarian to join the FAVA team for 10 weeks in the
7 j' x& s; V/ i( K9 |- D: Lsummer of 2009. FAVA is a non-profit, charitable organization whose mandate is to
8 T, f' w9 C9 fsupport the production and exhibition of film, video and media artists from Northern
% b3 H, Z3 X/ k5 s2 dAlberta.

FAVA serves members with diverse backgrounds and levels of experience, ranging from
4 W$ |8 \9 |4 J% F/ R1 D7 Gemerging, mid-range to established artists with an unwavering passion for film, video 3 J9 T1 d" u: I) S# D
and media art. FAVA offers: a variety of workshops for artistic and skill development; is a
+ m$ S5 b5 a5 ?6 F8 `: `resource for production equipment and post-production facilities; hosts events and Z1 R( f; v3 T9 K/ \" ]- \
screenings; and fosters and develops a dynamic media arts community in Northern , y& Y0 E0 ~! o; }$ L1 S# S$ o! z

Job Description: The Librarian will report to the Executive Director and work with the ; o8 S9 k6 u1 [6 d% l5 B
FAVA staff by organizing and updating two libraries: the film, video and digital library; as

Duties:
# }( i, Z& h1 z# q9 B7 l- Sort and catalogue the film, video and digital library
( @, C; n6 U0 `% x4 ]; K- Sort and catalogue scripts, magazine and books 3 `8 i9 A4 t5 c/ D7 Z
- Implement a catalogue template for future use Z4 ~' q. h0 J* O1 w: B
- Update and develop loaning policy and procedure
6 d* B7 E9 ?0 Z% W- Enforce FAVA’s standard of use policies where applicable

- ?/ F& [* R9 X. R- A passionate interest in film, video and media arts
& g1 d( r$ v# `+ j5 A- Strong organizational skills % s0 Q$ m2 ^0 X" y& _" ~
- Experience or training in library sciences preferred
' h# e H, D) g- Exceptional communication skills, written and verbal
