summer of 2009. FAVA is a non-profit, charitable organization whose mandate is to " ^4 k$ q& z5 V$ l O
support the production and exhibition of film, video and media artists from Northern

FAVA serves members with diverse backgrounds and levels of experience, ranging from ; \* t/ h( ~9 _' x$ u
emerging, mid-range to established artists with an unwavering passion for film, video
9 {1 P, H% B+ k; `" x! D; n- Zand media art. FAVA offers: a variety of workshops for artistic and skill development; is a
# z& B" G3 m: r9 n. J) c5 dresource for production equipment and post-production facilities; hosts events and
$ l. d( g1 _* q1 g- D. Cscreenings; and fosters and develops a dynamic media arts community in Northern # x6 m) F/ | v# i
Alberta.

4 u" q3 Q5 c# {% g2 U# D' _Job Description: The Librarian will report to the Executive Director and work with the ! Y4 a$ D" `' H' W/ C
FAVA staff by organizing and updating two libraries: the film, video and digital library; as
& U- t3 i# d1 w5 ^5 zwell as the script, magazine and book library. - {2 \( b# P* F; N' w V' w
3 |/ S& [! ]$ \" vDuties: 3 M9 F3 o: x3 F, Q2 A/ B4 O
- Sort and catalogue the film, video and digital library - O5 V' A# \, C! ?/ c {/ n# i5 f
- Sort and catalogue scripts, magazine and books
3 ~4 Q( p8 A2 I( A' h# |- Implement a catalogue template for future use
0 c' e" {, a; D- Update and develop loaning policy and procedure 4 o6 |; ^! O, C" X
- Enforce FAVA’s standard of use policies where applicable - n; `, F; V+ C: Q5 Q2 V1 m: ~

secondary training, university preferred

Qualifications: The ideal candidate will have: : b% _. B0 O* T" s2 {' a; q' C3 J: G
- A passionate interest in film, video and media arts ) A e3 u5 O' Q
- Strong organizational skills ; I5 \, J6 d) n8 s( A) [
- Experience or training in library sciences preferred
% c2 [+ a; g9 d- Exceptional communication skills, written and verbal
