FAVA is currently looking for a Librarian to join the FAVA team for 10 weeks in the & [9 H4 C2 X- Z+ I$ |/ [& j u
summer of 2009. FAVA is a non-profit, charitable organization whose mandate is to
2 p7 l. j3 J8 K/ wsupport the production and exhibition of film, video and media artists from Northern
9 I- `4 O& R( A& L7 d @/ _' C& @6 DAlberta.

+ I, F5 q' N" X+ R. uFAVA serves members with diverse backgrounds and levels of experience, ranging from 0 B3 Z; f- Q" w0 W `! V u
emerging, mid-range to established artists with an unwavering passion for film, video " A+ J' l4 z; G: @, B4 B
and media art. FAVA offers: a variety of workshops for artistic and skill development; is a * Q8 Q/ q+ t6 b1 w
resource for production equipment and post-production facilities; hosts events and $ l1 B6 E6 X3 ~9 T9 Y, P3 U2 i' l
screenings; and fosters and develops a dynamic media arts community in Northern : H2 _" ^$ o8 H7 f& `, E

Job Description: The Librarian will report to the Executive Director and work with the
' m: e5 M/ e; `FAVA staff by organizing and updating two libraries: the film, video and digital library; as ) e f0 S% x7 p2 v3 X
well as the script, magazine and book library.

Duties: ) |/ ^ ]& a2 E* w
- Sort and catalogue the film, video and digital library
& v7 u' z" g* q- t8 k2 A4 T- Sort and catalogue scripts, magazine and books
: B8 M1 ^( g4 ^6 r- Implement a catalogue template for future use
2 p* L6 y! \2 }9 g" E- Update and develop loaning policy and procedure
# O/ _/ `- Y6 \0 V4 X }% v9 n- Enforce FAVA’s standard of use policies where applicable , Y# D- z- E2 p( m0 t1 ]2 a

- Applicants must be unemployed and attending (or have recently completed) a post-

- Wage is $15.00 per hour, 35 hours per week : z. E/ x: X& A

- Strong organizational skills

- Exceptional communication skills, written and verbal 4 C, k; `8 D- f# t' f, j( h6 }
- Strong team player abilities
