FAVA is currently looking for a Librarian to join the FAVA team for 10 weeks in the
( s/ [3 a* ~+ Zsummer of 2009. FAVA is a non-profit, charitable organization whose mandate is to 7 H; V) O3 B# e) s" g' ^ w
support the production and exhibition of film, video and media artists from Northern % @0 y5 w2 k. g, H4 C% h; ^
Alberta. ; _7 _4 u6 \ q
2 J9 t. h7 s( f4 T( J# HFAVA serves members with diverse backgrounds and levels of experience, ranging from 3 E. b7 [0 l5 @' P6 Z4 B
emerging, mid-range to established artists with an unwavering passion for film, video : a* @3 b9 T( f k3 t% R
and media art. FAVA offers: a variety of workshops for artistic and skill development; is a + w( n! ^2 n+ w) A/ c N. i
resource for production equipment and post-production facilities; hosts events and 5 R. I8 c0 N4 T/ |' v, G$ ?
screenings; and fosters and develops a dynamic media arts community in Northern

FAVA staff by organizing and updating two libraries: the film, video and digital library; as / N$ j! N; r/ |
well as the script, magazine and book library. % {% M. X9 H7 H
' u# u J; c& T' j' y% A+ \Duties: 8 `, Y& q& g2 H w6 j q+ b
- Sort and catalogue the film, video and digital library
! ~8 v1 H( i4 Z" ^- Sort and catalogue scripts, magazine and books
# F: S K: q0 C- Implement a catalogue template for future use , K: ?0 v. z7 P
- Update and develop loaning policy and procedure
) N1 E/ b: b8 c7 Z* S" L6 A8 E g3 @- Enforce FAVA’s standard of use policies where applicable

- Applicants must be unemployed and attending (or have recently completed) a post-

- Wage is $15.00 per hour, 35 hours per week

Qualifications: The ideal candidate will have:
+ W' c1 \. D* x$ k# P- A passionate interest in film, video and media arts
?6 x! g3 P+ X# M( y" x5 o- Strong organizational skills 4 V) D5 u( J+ @8 S0 N J0 U h1 q
- Experience or training in library sciences preferred ' C; r: ]; v7 j+ G7 O
- Exceptional communication skills, written and verbal
