0 t. `2 _/ a/ f8 S, |FAVA is currently looking for a Librarian to join the FAVA team for 10 weeks in the
$ `' m. k& }; Q: E- m0 Nsummer of 2009. FAVA is a non-profit, charitable organization whose mandate is to
2 z# `, p" N! msupport the production and exhibition of film, video and media artists from Northern
Alberta.

0 F- V7 R" b  E  ]FAVA serves members with diverse backgrounds and levels of experience, ranging from
! U( R. t" p" G4 |" z' Q* [2 E  femerging, mid-range to established artists with an unwavering passion for film, video
and media art. FAVA offers: a variety of workshops for artistic and skill development; is a
3 o( d6 f) l+ K- y. qresource for production equipment and post-production facilities; hosts events and
screenings; and fosters and develops a dynamic media arts community in Northern
4 p% e7 c: t8 s+ s( n: DAlberta.

Job Description: The Librarian will report to the Executive Director and work with the
FAVA staff by organizing and updating two libraries: the film, video and digital library; as
well as the script, magazine and book library.

Duties:
4 @5 e% Y( e: f+ p$ x4 q( E- Sort and catalogue the film, video and digital library
- n8 s+ M4 z% E$ B$ E- Sort and catalogue scripts, magazine and books
- Implement a catalogue template for future use
- Update and develop loaning policy and procedure
8 L/ Y3 R' J' w- Enforce FAVA’s standard of use policies where applicable

# E, z) P0 f- M2 p% G- Funding for this position is provided by the Summer Temporary Employment Program
(STEP)
- Applicants must be unemployed and attending (or have recently completed) a post-
secondary training, university preferred
/ o# d3 I3 A4 a; R: Z0 U$ Z- Wage is $15.00 per hour, 35 hours per week
- Length of position: 10 consecutive weeks

8 X6 v3 V  [" `; `6 i/ C) N- A passionate interest in film, video and media arts
5 _) @+ h6 y' l! O% h  q% B- M- Strong organizational skills
- Experience or training in library sciences preferred
. z* \, V/ ^$ S3 x# m4 n; T2 x- Exceptional communication skills, written and verbal  
4 U( x5 c; ?5 B0 Z- Strong team player abilities
- Interest in working for an arts organization that is governed by a Board of Directors
