FAVA is currently looking for a Librarian to join the FAVA team for 10 weeks in the 9 \" ]# f& G& D7 ^
summer of 2009. FAVA is a non-profit, charitable organization whose mandate is to 0 a5 {6 l" u6 s3 {' W) [
support the production and exhibition of film, video and media artists from Northern
& \$ a. g2 q; R( \3 Q- Q. YAlberta. % `2 |+ V M% N& \& ~

FAVA serves members with diverse backgrounds and levels of experience, ranging from - `+ Q7 O0 K, J w9 Q" ?
emerging, mid-range to established artists with an unwavering passion for film, video ' O# z$ y E M6 A7 ?5 f! Q
and media art. FAVA offers: a variety of workshops for artistic and skill development; is a
" ]. r9 A) s0 N- `5 {resource for production equipment and post-production facilities; hosts events and
6 m) P) ~$ e s) l% e: [# ~screenings; and fosters and develops a dynamic media arts community in Northern

: G i+ p! X/ r9 L8 `. x JJob Description: The Librarian will report to the Executive Director and work with the - A7 K6 _" q. n/ ~8 y9 |" w3 E
FAVA staff by organizing and updating two libraries: the film, video and digital library; as . Z" j" o/ R, v K% I, | X9 X
well as the script, magazine and book library.

Duties:
$ V2 Q& I e# N3 _$ y; q- Sort and catalogue the film, video and digital library 7 R- ~* K/ P# h4 e6 X& K- ^
- Sort and catalogue scripts, magazine and books 0 R; R) ], d( B4 M8 _9 A
- Implement a catalogue template for future use
, ~- s2 ]- i% Y7 H- O- Update and develop loaning policy and procedure
: f- @: J% [/ `5 s- Enforce FAVA’s standard of use policies where applicable

- A passionate interest in film, video and media arts

- Exceptional communication skills, written and verbal
