FAVA is currently looking for a Librarian to join the FAVA team for 10 weeks in the
( J& n6 g, R( fsummer of 2009. FAVA is a non-profit, charitable organization whose mandate is to

& X! B: m2 H/ q2 c' oand media art. FAVA offers: a variety of workshops for artistic and skill development; is a * a% m0 ~# D1 n7 t, l% y. j
resource for production equipment and post-production facilities; hosts events and 9 f$ C; x; w5 F2 a/ k$ Z, m" {
screenings; and fosters and develops a dynamic media arts community in Northern ! n" z; W0 L. v

Job Description: The Librarian will report to the Executive Director and work with the
( }8 r3 n3 o: {. ZFAVA staff by organizing and updating two libraries: the film, video and digital library; as / |9 d9 N9 k; T5 z! \
well as the script, magazine and book library.

Duties:
6 Q% q2 R2 F0 Y, q& P% n- Sort and catalogue the film, video and digital library
. M4 ?# Z# x. s: h6 [3 w- Sort and catalogue scripts, magazine and books
@" O, H8 V+ I1 T* T1 Q- Implement a catalogue template for future use 1 u# f! ?6 K9 |! N9 g$ w0 F
- Update and develop loaning policy and procedure 2 g" v* U" [: H: A
- Enforce FAVA’s standard of use policies where applicable

Qualifications: The ideal candidate will have:

- Strong organizational skills ! p; Y! y& Z! x, c S+ p; p( V, u
- Experience or training in library sciences preferred + w& T9 {. }: z( G @# r

- Strong team player abilities
