FAVA is currently looking for a Librarian to join the FAVA team for 10 weeks in the
- I0 ^5 W# K; M) H, L$ Rsummer of 2009. FAVA is a non-profit, charitable organization whose mandate is to : D8 S9 l) @7 b) t* [
support the production and exhibition of film, video and media artists from Northern 6 x# m O& L& L# l& z( y4 R$ m7 }5 a
Alberta.

8 k1 c4 N4 H ]0 f" H7 QFAVA serves members with diverse backgrounds and levels of experience, ranging from : v; Y! b4 L( ?* x
emerging, mid-range to established artists with an unwavering passion for film, video
" U; p0 l! d' f* H7 G* P" u( y; @and media art. FAVA offers: a variety of workshops for artistic and skill development; is a * J, ]2 d/ T0 Y' N* ~9 {& U
resource for production equipment and post-production facilities; hosts events and ' G; J1 c$ V1 O. p+ Q8 z; Q
screenings; and fosters and develops a dynamic media arts community in Northern

Job Description: The Librarian will report to the Executive Director and work with the 8 W% p V5 h, p9 J- M. S
FAVA staff by organizing and updating two libraries: the film, video and digital library; as + W+ L! o: Y4 W+ K M; j
well as the script, magazine and book library. 2 E. a' Q. [# @' ]; U

Duties:
7 Y4 q; C/ N2 [. O$ |- Sort and catalogue the film, video and digital library $ Z! t( {$ Z) u* k
- Sort and catalogue scripts, magazine and books
9 k$ T1 K3 w; J& P+ C+ K1 e- Implement a catalogue template for future use
3 `) h, B5 @9 m+ F- Update and develop loaning policy and procedure
. l t) C5 E; x) C3 ~- Enforce FAVA’s standard of use policies where applicable

. c& N9 l1 V4 R% N$ u! `Qualifications: The ideal candidate will have: 7 T+ K' b$ k/ D- F
- A passionate interest in film, video and media arts
8 O3 C4 e! K1 s/ c- Strong organizational skills
' l. ^- q/ ~- h8 H: T: h- Experience or training in library sciences preferred
9 h& l3 j( B2 Q5 \- Exceptional communication skills, written and verbal

- Interest in working for an arts organization that is governed by a Board of Directors
