FAVA serves members with diverse backgrounds and levels of experience, ranging from 5 J; z! `9 r2 M4 \+ c6 v z5 `- q, M
emerging, mid-range to established artists with an unwavering passion for film, video ( \% [+ j( q2 y; E0 ~" A. T/ B
and media art. FAVA offers: a variety of workshops for artistic and skill development; is a ) I$ A# m% T# D
resource for production equipment and post-production facilities; hosts events and
( A6 n+ [* `, \3 U* [5 Iscreenings; and fosters and develops a dynamic media arts community in Northern $ l5 O& V6 ?* Q# ~6 T; M

. T& I% q- L' r2 O4 YJob Description: The Librarian will report to the Executive Director and work with the
- c# P1 W6 ]; |! F' t- vFAVA staff by organizing and updating two libraries: the film, video and digital library; as 9 @2 m! l I; n9 z* R
well as the script, magazine and book library.

& r$ L; w" W- c9 k- Sort and catalogue scripts, magazine and books 3 N( z* C( U/ ?, J! {( l! n* A
- Implement a catalogue template for future use
' O4 _0 ~% |1 F- Update and develop loaning policy and procedure
* M8 q; e* M" @2 U0 E- Enforce FAVA’s standard of use policies where applicable

- Length of position: 10 consecutive weeks ; |) r! T/ `" V E1 X" z

Qualifications: The ideal candidate will have:
( P9 M5 I- ~* K- A passionate interest in film, video and media arts
+ C' u+ g4 R& K8 w1 ]- Strong organizational skills % M/ d- U7 R* q" \
- Experience or training in library sciences preferred % z; S6 |% U5 f" p
- Exceptional communication skills, written and verbal ) d. ~4 |5 h9 i/ G4 A8 x
- Strong team player abilities 9 ]5 ^' c- I4 \8 W, ]9 J* h1 M
- Interest in working for an arts organization that is governed by a Board of Directors
