FAVA is currently looking for a Librarian to join the FAVA team for 10 weeks in the
& D' l( v8 i3 e' z$ gsummer of 2009. FAVA is a non-profit, charitable organization whose mandate is to 0 C6 E8 A- O7 j! b
support the production and exhibition of film, video and media artists from Northern 9 y) e' s' W3 \+ z4 E5 r% t/ A! \
Alberta.

FAVA serves members with diverse backgrounds and levels of experience, ranging from ) @3 W8 Y' ?. V4 o' q' e, R" h, o* f
emerging, mid-range to established artists with an unwavering passion for film, video . k# ^* q- [( N8 O' l+ J
and media art. FAVA offers: a variety of workshops for artistic and skill development; is a
! \3 R4 U$ Z' O+ Dresource for production equipment and post-production facilities; hosts events and
- D7 Z& L9 S4 N' rscreenings; and fosters and develops a dynamic media arts community in Northern

Job Description: The Librarian will report to the Executive Director and work with the 9 I; f4 a5 @' F7 y) h
FAVA staff by organizing and updating two libraries: the film, video and digital library; as 5 @) B4 e3 |% P' Q0 K; @# d5 O
well as the script, magazine and book library.

- Sort and catalogue the film, video and digital library
2 k. d7 P ~* A$ P9 w- Sort and catalogue scripts, magazine and books t, r' i2 p9 D9 T/ z
- Implement a catalogue template for future use
, I8 g9 A6 W4 y y+ Q2 l- Update and develop loaning policy and procedure ' Y" Q$ G6 }5 T; C4 g3 P
- Enforce FAVA’s standard of use policies where applicable

- Wage is $15.00 per hour, 35 hours per week ( j/ V! |# x$ h# e& ^
- Length of position: 10 consecutive weeks

- A passionate interest in film, video and media arts

- Exceptional communication skills, written and verbal
