$ I* o' |0 y+ v8 j' P8 P$ |! f& p% Lsummer of 2009. FAVA is a non-profit, charitable organization whose mandate is to
support the production and exhibition of film, video and media artists from Northern

' g! d4 H' L, v$ }- ?: |FAVA serves members with diverse backgrounds and levels of experience, ranging from
9 J7 D* Y* f1 u3 t* Xemerging, mid-range to established artists with an unwavering passion for film, video
7 U  O; I5 x: s; J) Oand media art. FAVA offers: a variety of workshops for artistic and skill development; is a
resource for production equipment and post-production facilities; hosts events and
) j. E  c& u/ q0 I# M7 Lscreenings; and fosters and develops a dynamic media arts community in Northern
( J$ O7 p+ o5 }/ LAlberta.

+ x2 Q% ?/ z5 W* w% LJob Description: The Librarian will report to the Executive Director and work with the
FAVA staff by organizing and updating two libraries: the film, video and digital library; as
2 h( m. m7 q: Z5 D, swell as the script, magazine and book library.

7 A* {- K( d3 b, x5 j8 ?Duties:
- Sort and catalogue the film, video and digital library
1 G( \4 h. f' N" L9 G8 A# C& w( }- Sort and catalogue scripts, magazine and books
, z) J+ x# K6 s/ S, u- Implement a catalogue template for future use
- Update and develop loaning policy and procedure
- Enforce FAVA’s standard of use policies where applicable

) B( H, T1 h1 W) v, E- Funding for this position is provided by the Summer Temporary Employment Program
(STEP)
* _' s- {7 Z2 r- m  J5 h( `- Applicants must be unemployed and attending (or have recently completed) a post-
secondary training, university preferred
. ]5 S5 J& @* J% [* J7 ?$ d- Wage is $15.00 per hour, 35 hours per week
( O. p7 D+ {+ I, W) W+ r1 F; f$ m- Length of position: 10 consecutive weeks

( V3 b/ v% L- d/ MQualifications: The ideal candidate will have:
5 |9 r4 M1 _3 G- V+ B2 C) j- A passionate interest in film, video and media arts
! B* B" l7 r# `/ q* U6 e7 d3 b- Strong organizational skills
. I  _4 E( }% m- Experience or training in library sciences preferred
- Exceptional communication skills, written and verbal

- Interest in working for an arts organization that is governed by a Board of Directors
