FAVA is currently looking for a Librarian to join the FAVA team for 10 weeks in the 2 F) Z) s8 [/ H+ H0 u# d
summer of 2009. FAVA is a non-profit, charitable organization whose mandate is to

FAVA serves members with diverse backgrounds and levels of experience, ranging from

and media art. FAVA offers: a variety of workshops for artistic and skill development; is a
/ [4 E5 W5 E7 ~resource for production equipment and post-production facilities; hosts events and
& b' v% n$ G$ oscreenings; and fosters and develops a dynamic media arts community in Northern + e( U3 A6 i9 l- }

Job Description: The Librarian will report to the Executive Director and work with the
4 M. t c7 p* K+ v; b; ^! Z! d' ~FAVA staff by organizing and updating two libraries: the film, video and digital library; as
( I0 `0 ]8 J0 Y$ }well as the script, magazine and book library.

- Sort and catalogue the film, video and digital library ) _3 Q) D* `) O9 i2 {0 u
- Sort and catalogue scripts, magazine and books + h/ e& H3 @+ {; B" `9 S' e0 D
- Implement a catalogue template for future use 2 E# z& P7 w J8 P
- Update and develop loaning policy and procedure % t: a3 J7 n( D1 ?* P
- Enforce FAVA’s standard of use policies where applicable

- Applicants must be unemployed and attending (or have recently completed) a post-7 u: u0 t+ ~6 d) u3 A

- Wage is $15.00 per hour, 35 hours per week - \# t5 j0 D Z) @: X" U3 n

- A passionate interest in film, video and media arts

- Experience or training in library sciences preferred
