( Q% \" v1 }: ]5 ]' c1 `FAVA is currently looking for a Librarian to join the FAVA team for 10 weeks in the
9 W8 @, a4 {: C& S. i! V1 x3 ksummer of 2009. FAVA is a non-profit, charitable organization whose mandate is to
support the production and exhibition of film, video and media artists from Northern
Alberta.

, u8 a5 u/ e& b: M1 xFAVA serves members with diverse backgrounds and levels of experience, ranging from
emerging, mid-range to established artists with an unwavering passion for film, video
  z" l' a0 k2 Aand media art. FAVA offers: a variety of workshops for artistic and skill development; is a
: ^0 s. T7 f3 j4 t7 h* Y% Iresource for production equipment and post-production facilities; hosts events and
screenings; and fosters and develops a dynamic media arts community in Northern
Alberta.

Job Description: The Librarian will report to the Executive Director and work with the
) R" N6 Z. Y% e& V* ~+ {' ~FAVA staff by organizing and updating two libraries: the film, video and digital library; as
3 @4 V+ z# o' p" R6 Swell as the script, magazine and book library.

. j  @, U4 v# z" @7 W$ IDuties:
/ x9 z7 I5 i1 X8 I7 w# N- Sort and catalogue the film, video and digital library
- Sort and catalogue scripts, magazine and books
- Implement a catalogue template for future use
: ?" L" w# i. R, h- Update and develop loaning policy and procedure
$ K: T5 O( ~4 Q9 m  @( q- Enforce FAVA’s standard of use policies where applicable

Details:
- Funding for this position is provided by the Summer Temporary Employment Program
(STEP)
, m: Y6 n( A; `( t( ?, W; {- Applicants must be unemployed and attending (or have recently completed) a post-
0 L$ A+ h' a5 ]3 osecondary training, university preferred
- Wage is $15.00 per hour, 35 hours per week
! ^, }3 [9 b5 z: w+ J0 w+ u- Length of position: 10 consecutive weeks

# \: s3 W% L# f9 }4 oQualifications: The ideal candidate will have:
* a7 F' D- o3 O# T6 Z- A passionate interest in film, video and media arts
5 Q6 t0 g* T0 \( U- Strong organizational skills
8 c: ^. Z  U( B+ X. x1 w7 a- Experience or training in library sciences preferred
- A1 c6 y/ |$ {- Exceptional communication skills, written and verbal  
- Strong team player abilities
