FAVA is currently looking for a Librarian to join the FAVA team for 10 weeks in the ' w$ H2 F3 d2 U/ I
summer of 2009. FAVA is a non-profit, charitable organization whose mandate is to ! N/ ~6 Y& h9 M
support the production and exhibition of film, video and media artists from Northern # V- R1 K# X+ c

FAVA serves members with diverse backgrounds and levels of experience, ranging from
$ o5 c; `9 h0 c! g9 c7 D" Lemerging, mid-range to established artists with an unwavering passion for film, video
/ N' z6 g0 n7 H! @2 b: Iand media art. FAVA offers: a variety of workshops for artistic and skill development; is a # d( {% y* W$ |0 l* H+ N
resource for production equipment and post-production facilities; hosts events and

6 [+ j$ B4 f# }3 |' L& wJob Description: The Librarian will report to the Executive Director and work with the ) [) m2 S6 x7 h; Z+ U
FAVA staff by organizing and updating two libraries: the film, video and digital library; as
% r' [- e b' C4 E) g3 q/ x6 Kwell as the script, magazine and book library.

- Sort and catalogue the film, video and digital library : F$ ]6 H0 {0 W$ j5 j
- Sort and catalogue scripts, magazine and books " i0 t- j; p+ U! G
- Implement a catalogue template for future use * A1 B9 j- m' b9 S3 H R
- Update and develop loaning policy and procedure
! W; |2 U" y* I/ S, w- Enforce FAVA’s standard of use policies where applicable , M8 V: K8 u& d8 m6 X/ i* @/ m$ ~

- Wage is $15.00 per hour, 35 hours per week & u: _* ^8 H- X4 n
- Length of position: 10 consecutive weeks , x" x- m r. H6 c

- A passionate interest in film, video and media arts
% D* g2 b7 i, y( Y9 D2 G- Strong organizational skills
* G. s1 q- q% Z5 X" u- D; L9 J- Experience or training in library sciences preferred
& s& P- W: \1 `; G- Exceptional communication skills, written and verbal - s2 x/ D, a& l, X; S0 ~ Q

- Interest in working for an arts organization that is governed by a Board of Directors
