FAVA is currently looking for a Librarian to join the FAVA team for 10 weeks in the ; ~" {6 w. l3 {! W2 L' N+ r9 h
summer of 2009. FAVA is a non-profit, charitable organization whose mandate is to
3 P3 s% d6 v$ s& nsupport the production and exhibition of film, video and media artists from Northern

FAVA serves members with diverse backgrounds and levels of experience, ranging from
/ F4 b: q% T& p4 X% b, s& cemerging, mid-range to established artists with an unwavering passion for film, video 1 P! A, J) r. B* u/ F
and media art. FAVA offers: a variety of workshops for artistic and skill development; is a 7 F. R. p. X+ `- a0 y; a P
resource for production equipment and post-production facilities; hosts events and / w0 c6 h! |4 Y7 U
screenings; and fosters and develops a dynamic media arts community in Northern / [$ Y' c& b* _# ]3 R* j+ s9 `
Alberta.

Job Description: The Librarian will report to the Executive Director and work with the / {4 M1 h# A6 ?* l( B
FAVA staff by organizing and updating two libraries: the film, video and digital library; as
1 ?; _% w& L' s, `9 [well as the script, magazine and book library.

Duties: 8 U6 Q2 R8 X n9 h
- Sort and catalogue the film, video and digital library
( v E! r2 ` t) u7 ^% @4 T- Sort and catalogue scripts, magazine and books
. e$ G5 O' m& A; i) d- Implement a catalogue template for future use 7 \ D3 n7 z+ |6 F
- Update and develop loaning policy and procedure

- Wage is $15.00 per hour, 35 hours per week

Qualifications: The ideal candidate will have:
r6 p* X6 Q) b& F/ E1 o- A passionate interest in film, video and media arts
}; q& Y- ]# E! Z t8 U- Strong organizational skills
8 f$ U- T2 N: z9 q7 E: L1 H+ `- Experience or training in library sciences preferred $ Z$ j: p3 q, B2 C
- Exceptional communication skills, written and verbal
