! e# ?) X5 e9 H1 uFAVA is currently looking for a Librarian to join the FAVA team for 10 weeks in the
summer of 2009. FAVA is a non-profit, charitable organization whose mandate is to
3 a" A3 v* m3 b! F2 Osupport the production and exhibition of film, video and media artists from Northern
1 |/ @. V7 H! f! X! e; |Alberta.

FAVA serves members with diverse backgrounds and levels of experience, ranging from
2 U! B6 Y3 M  l8 oemerging, mid-range to established artists with an unwavering passion for film, video
, `: H0 [7 S" d$ V6 J& rand media art. FAVA offers: a variety of workshops for artistic and skill development; is a
1 k5 J5 m; i4 {( }resource for production equipment and post-production facilities; hosts events and
0 k! W0 k) C9 C. F# z. pscreenings; and fosters and develops a dynamic media arts community in Northern
" ?; d; o0 p9 J7 G" O' zAlberta.

Job Description: The Librarian will report to the Executive Director and work with the
FAVA staff by organizing and updating two libraries: the film, video and digital library; as
well as the script, magazine and book library.

Duties:
- Sort and catalogue the film, video and digital library
5 ?9 S0 ^7 `' n: {; P# u- Sort and catalogue scripts, magazine and books
- Implement a catalogue template for future use
- Update and develop loaning policy and procedure
0 J8 e$ l' Q( h) n7 `: K- Enforce FAVA’s standard of use policies where applicable

- Funding for this position is provided by the Summer Temporary Employment Program

- Applicants must be unemployed and attending (or have recently completed) a post-
secondary training, university preferred
& n8 u& N  A+ T- Wage is $15.00 per hour, 35 hours per week
2 i) `  O" Z! k- Length of position: 10 consecutive weeks

; t/ g$ J/ f5 A) P) n/ K) ], Y- A passionate interest in film, video and media arts
4 d' P8 z; u  c5 Q" i9 \- Strong organizational skills
- Experience or training in library sciences preferred
- Exceptional communication skills, written and verbal  
- Strong team player abilities
- Interest in working for an arts organization that is governed by a Board of Directors
