summer of 2009. FAVA is a non-profit, charitable organization whose mandate is to ) \3 z1 D+ ~" G6 o& ^
support the production and exhibition of film, video and media artists from Northern

+ K# U( m7 Z4 G0 ^FAVA serves members with diverse backgrounds and levels of experience, ranging from
: \- I, s; N, k- demerging, mid-range to established artists with an unwavering passion for film, video
m7 f0 y% S8 E' hand media art. FAVA offers: a variety of workshops for artistic and skill development; is a $ k4 n( T6 y/ X- m' W6 Q K
resource for production equipment and post-production facilities; hosts events and
9 [( W& g+ ?$ }; I/ B/ Qscreenings; and fosters and develops a dynamic media arts community in Northern 2 E( X9 R: _% r- X1 ~

5 D; S. i5 J9 t+ G6 KJob Description: The Librarian will report to the Executive Director and work with the g F" H3 H! U! ~0 ?
FAVA staff by organizing and updating two libraries: the film, video and digital library; as 6 z1 l1 M+ M6 R: D- g
well as the script, magazine and book library. ! w$ Z/ }$ C: m+ m% }( X3 H4 A

- Sort and catalogue the film, video and digital library 0 ^0 ^0 {& a8 [
- Sort and catalogue scripts, magazine and books
/ A O1 V! i" l+ K: p4 d9 X- Implement a catalogue template for future use 5 K9 j+ T* } k/ l8 ~
- Update and develop loaning policy and procedure $ e5 r$ G; [) f& j) f7 ~% [
- Enforce FAVA’s standard of use policies where applicable

- Applicants must be unemployed and attending (or have recently completed) a post-, T4 `2 k2 {, I" Q$ |

- Wage is $15.00 per hour, 35 hours per week

Qualifications: The ideal candidate will have: 7 m5 j% F0 [7 W1 U- W6 E
- A passionate interest in film, video and media arts 0 d- J& m- A& \6 P0 |
- Strong organizational skills 2 |/ ~% q8 n9 i ?$ E; R9 J5 s
- Experience or training in library sciences preferred

- Strong team player abilities 8 |9 x {5 S2 w: t4 r" @9 E- h/ j
- Interest in working for an arts organization that is governed by a Board of Directors
