( k# \7 J: ?0 E$ a: I- QFAVA is currently looking for a Librarian to join the FAVA team for 10 weeks in the
summer of 2009. FAVA is a non-profit, charitable organization whose mandate is to
! T) Z) O4 f5 E& H( W0 q0 _support the production and exhibition of film, video and media artists from Northern
Alberta.

FAVA serves members with diverse backgrounds and levels of experience, ranging from
) s$ ]5 [; D, r( E4 k8 u7 {emerging, mid-range to established artists with an unwavering passion for film, video
and media art. FAVA offers: a variety of workshops for artistic and skill development; is a
; j' \1 B+ ]+ _2 D  \2 L; Presource for production equipment and post-production facilities; hosts events and
screenings; and fosters and develops a dynamic media arts community in Northern
9 M$ ]  f- a0 A: J) _7 D* yAlberta.

' _$ ]1 B3 C: n, ^# gJob Description: The Librarian will report to the Executive Director and work with the
$ G; I/ y, Q+ V9 [5 R* TFAVA staff by organizing and updating two libraries: the film, video and digital library; as
  C. R0 `8 ?7 |3 P7 ^1 r" twell as the script, magazine and book library.

3 ?: |+ z/ V, K8 ^/ q2 E- Sort and catalogue the film, video and digital library
- Sort and catalogue scripts, magazine and books
& l) b' ?! h8 B, a( i- Implement a catalogue template for future use
  P, f; U9 ?4 d7 I8 E- Update and develop loaning policy and procedure
- Enforce FAVA’s standard of use policies where applicable

- Funding for this position is provided by the Summer Temporary Employment Program
(STEP)
- Applicants must be unemployed and attending (or have recently completed) a post-
secondary training, university preferred
- Wage is $15.00 per hour, 35 hours per week

Qualifications: The ideal candidate will have:
0 [! `7 z- \. F- a- A passionate interest in film, video and media arts
- Strong organizational skills
! s- Y& `8 Q& h% g6 H( N: ?- Experience or training in library sciences preferred
- Exceptional communication skills, written and verbal  
2 ?) q; D" @. P; y+ ]1 h; c' R' r- Strong team player abilities
- Interest in working for an arts organization that is governed by a Board of Directors
