summer of 2009. FAVA is a non-profit, charitable organization whose mandate is to " I% ~3 L3 i* M5 r1 M. X) v/ v
support the production and exhibition of film, video and media artists from Northern ( v7 g. M0 I. r% a' i- f
Alberta.

FAVA serves members with diverse backgrounds and levels of experience, ranging from
- j& g" X$ Q' ]4 f3 H% ]emerging, mid-range to established artists with an unwavering passion for film, video 9 ~7 `2 h& k0 _% J; ]
and media art. FAVA offers: a variety of workshops for artistic and skill development; is a " ^( X3 S9 X6 z. c h9 O6 F
resource for production equipment and post-production facilities; hosts events and & C3 q7 C8 E$ w; d
screenings; and fosters and develops a dynamic media arts community in Northern

: u% }+ L X. u: CJob Description: The Librarian will report to the Executive Director and work with the ' y" t5 m. }6 G; j# a# ]
FAVA staff by organizing and updating two libraries: the film, video and digital library; as
6 J! Q* m0 n0 }$ w- ]' c' d2 Qwell as the script, magazine and book library. 5 N- \" y$ |- [' T/ [

- Sort and catalogue the film, video and digital library ' y4 o% r. I; H. ]) U6 t, P' t
- Sort and catalogue scripts, magazine and books
) F' O% N" D6 m& p. P8 h" a- Implement a catalogue template for future use " ^- m# \, g6 o* D6 e; A+ t
- Update and develop loaning policy and procedure 7 j& Z+ ^$ |% {0 h# X
- Enforce FAVA’s standard of use policies where applicable
) g9 H, Z6 M$ r/ O; d ' F, g- r/ W) g' e8 ]% `! j' y$ Z

- Applicants must be unemployed and attending (or have recently completed) a post-

- Wage is $15.00 per hour, 35 hours per week
) G* r- _! F, b! n- Length of position: 10 consecutive weeks

Qualifications: The ideal candidate will have: ! n4 R" J$ p+ v7 h
- A passionate interest in film, video and media arts
& Y, {) o/ i, c) x1 y- Strong organizational skills 5 W# b( g$ C9 t! p
- Experience or training in library sciences preferred
, A. r! T/ G" f7 ^- Exceptional communication skills, written and verbal
: n- p, f5 C$ \1 q- Strong team player abilities
