- \( s5 z& L( i7 SFAVA is currently looking for a Librarian to join the FAVA team for 10 weeks in the
4 g* [' L$ {2 o9 f' `5 K# ysummer of 2009. FAVA is a non-profit, charitable organization whose mandate is to
( t5 @! m# w9 \5 g: M" m" e+ }$ asupport the production and exhibition of film, video and media artists from Northern

and media art. FAVA offers: a variety of workshops for artistic and skill development; is a
4 S$ x* \0 b9 [& Y+ Vresource for production equipment and post-production facilities; hosts events and $ Z9 n2 d I) a
screenings; and fosters and develops a dynamic media arts community in Northern

: c6 i; p7 P' g& CJob Description: The Librarian will report to the Executive Director and work with the
$ p U" {( i3 J1 N% `8 u _ K. L$ gFAVA staff by organizing and updating two libraries: the film, video and digital library; as
! e1 O1 F. z5 pwell as the script, magazine and book library.

$ b/ R6 W8 r. s/ I- Sort and catalogue the film, video and digital library
; `7 Z, L0 V. e8 N2 ~3 i- Sort and catalogue scripts, magazine and books
& |$ L# H7 u0 J4 d5 W% q+ d- Implement a catalogue template for future use & @( l T* r' l! ]. D
- Update and develop loaning policy and procedure ! d) Z3 s( V8 u* D! y+ Q( y$ R1 _4 m+ r
- Enforce FAVA’s standard of use policies where applicable

- Funding for this position is provided by the Summer Temporary Employment Program

- Applicants must be unemployed and attending (or have recently completed) a post-) _8 u; E9 @ u! H9 c; j
secondary training, university preferred

Qualifications: The ideal candidate will have: 2 Y" p3 F' {0 z* P4 {
- A passionate interest in film, video and media arts
4 I6 ~ D# Q& I/ A# p$ w1 ]- Strong organizational skills
0 a- m! ?+ y) ?) c& \- Experience or training in library sciences preferred
