summer of 2009. FAVA is a non-profit, charitable organization whose mandate is to

FAVA serves members with diverse backgrounds and levels of experience, ranging from

and media art. FAVA offers: a variety of workshops for artistic and skill development; is a ) _3 C0 @' s, G" @$ ?! Y4 |1 ~
resource for production equipment and post-production facilities; hosts events and 8 K: g+ `" U8 }8 Z* h# F
screenings; and fosters and develops a dynamic media arts community in Northern

Job Description: The Librarian will report to the Executive Director and work with the & V9 V. t! B1 S) t9 H$ t; x
FAVA staff by organizing and updating two libraries: the film, video and digital library; as % d0 l; z* Z* d" K6 B4 M
well as the script, magazine and book library. 0 K- A7 a0 I1 S0 N+ W9 h4 {

3 u9 U) v6 {8 O' v6 V: q1 x5 r9 O- Sort and catalogue the film, video and digital library
; {; q8 u% F% v, C1 ?* S- Sort and catalogue scripts, magazine and books 6 p/ T( z* Z: H q/ w6 v# u$ H* b
- Implement a catalogue template for future use # _. _( E4 v7 {/ g- X
- Update and develop loaning policy and procedure # p* m1 ~4 w6 E, K; f, L7 ^
- Enforce FAVA’s standard of use policies where applicable # Z" P% ?6 p% w% O: c

- Applicants must be unemployed and attending (or have recently completed) a post-

- Length of position: 10 consecutive weeks

Qualifications: The ideal candidate will have:
" B3 K$ _+ V+ g3 L( s; g- A passionate interest in film, video and media arts
& I% ^! P5 U+ u3 T5 I0 t9 L1 g* n! f4 I- Strong organizational skills
2 F8 j o: P% E- O: C. Q- Experience or training in library sciences preferred
- j- {! _* [! M1 T S K- Exceptional communication skills, written and verbal
& m7 D+ u: Z: K) U* p+ i: }- Strong team player abilities 7 t1 J# E) |, i8 Z$ E( {
- Interest in working for an arts organization that is governed by a Board of Directors 7 u/ S, @$ @+ @( d
