FAVA is currently looking for a Librarian to join the FAVA team for 10 weeks in the
summer of 2009. FAVA is a non-profit, charitable organization whose mandate is to
' y* |# }+ D$ Hsupport the production and exhibition of film, video and media artists from Northern
Alberta.

0 N3 l+ U3 z+ ]; uFAVA serves members with diverse backgrounds and levels of experience, ranging from
3 P$ u; d! `. `2 V+ s/ ]emerging, mid-range to established artists with an unwavering passion for film, video
4 c( I, Q9 f' c6 @! t( _( S0 Y, rand media art. FAVA offers: a variety of workshops for artistic and skill development; is a
resource for production equipment and post-production facilities; hosts events and
3 z) n* |! X! I: y- o8 @screenings; and fosters and develops a dynamic media arts community in Northern

Job Description: The Librarian will report to the Executive Director and work with the
FAVA staff by organizing and updating two libraries: the film, video and digital library; as
, P6 r/ \0 p) M) q8 B: u# N% swell as the script, magazine and book library.

$ L" c$ A, _; d  z  ?' [/ q) rDuties:
- Sort and catalogue the film, video and digital library
- A% M& W2 F8 `  `; j- Sort and catalogue scripts, magazine and books
- Implement a catalogue template for future use
- Update and develop loaning policy and procedure
- Enforce FAVA’s standard of use policies where applicable

Details:
6 v5 t& a; `. p0 _- Funding for this position is provided by the Summer Temporary Employment Program
(STEP)
- Applicants must be unemployed and attending (or have recently completed) a post-
6 {' ^, ?1 n& k& a$ Osecondary training, university preferred
1 h7 S2 t" b; I2 u! D- Wage is $15.00 per hour, 35 hours per week
- Length of position: 10 consecutive weeks

# U2 l7 h' e/ LQualifications: The ideal candidate will have:
% ]) b5 f1 ^1 J( h- A passionate interest in film, video and media arts
- Strong organizational skills
! z. |6 Y: y& c5 ]  Y- Experience or training in library sciences preferred
- Exceptional communication skills, written and verbal  
0 u( k: {5 c2 c5 e! Q0 O7 X- Strong team player abilities
