! B* W: o1 B% h( s8 RFAVA is currently looking for a Librarian to join the FAVA team for 10 weeks in the
summer of 2009. FAVA is a non-profit, charitable organization whose mandate is to
support the production and exhibition of film, video and media artists from Northern
Alberta.

1 B7 c' r, @+ n1 LFAVA serves members with diverse backgrounds and levels of experience, ranging from
emerging, mid-range to established artists with an unwavering passion for film, video
and media art. FAVA offers: a variety of workshops for artistic and skill development; is a
3 j% k, f2 n# ~7 Vresource for production equipment and post-production facilities; hosts events and
  S# n6 Z6 m3 U+ q5 k4 s- ^& A8 H  Pscreenings; and fosters and develops a dynamic media arts community in Northern
Alberta.

Job Description: The Librarian will report to the Executive Director and work with the
FAVA staff by organizing and updating two libraries: the film, video and digital library; as
& p- v- {( L7 j" `; ]well as the script, magazine and book library.

Duties:
+ X% I) U2 f2 w; s, t  ?( K' l- Sort and catalogue the film, video and digital library
- Sort and catalogue scripts, magazine and books
: s& W/ z2 M, L- Implement a catalogue template for future use
- Update and develop loaning policy and procedure
- Enforce FAVA’s standard of use policies where applicable

(STEP)
- Applicants must be unemployed and attending (or have recently completed) a post-

! B" l5 W- H, I7 z2 ^- Wage is $15.00 per hour, 35 hours per week
- Length of position: 10 consecutive weeks

2 `9 w, k: ^; \  d) o$ m- A passionate interest in film, video and media arts
9 I& P  @% n3 m" L/ W- Strong organizational skills
! W4 I% O. l6 @( A: s/ Q0 o- Experience or training in library sciences preferred
" a* j) i9 v7 {* t% a- Exceptional communication skills, written and verbal  
- Strong team player abilities
- Interest in working for an arts organization that is governed by a Board of Directors

I have 3 years librarian expeirence in U of A, and believe I can fit in this postion perfectly.
