summer of 2009. FAVA is a non-profit, charitable organization whose mandate is to
. F/ {4 A8 d5 w. w& N& \' W$ T+ ^! M9 \support the production and exhibition of film, video and media artists from Northern
8 K8 X7 }( G7 V1 S+ h5 d$ DAlberta. $ T# x* E U% z- O- T
8 m- b9 ]: U- B* M2 `FAVA serves members with diverse backgrounds and levels of experience, ranging from
+ X# }# H. W% l" }, g. hemerging, mid-range to established artists with an unwavering passion for film, video # K( \* }, h2 `$ V& |% S* ~4 C
and media art. FAVA offers: a variety of workshops for artistic and skill development; is a ; ]2 K9 o, X* |: e
resource for production equipment and post-production facilities; hosts events and ) w- O# ^9 I: O" l. z, n$ V
screenings; and fosters and develops a dynamic media arts community in Northern

2 c& e6 o# m# Y. B% dJob Description: The Librarian will report to the Executive Director and work with the
/ i2 V; y. ~' R* Z. ` I, CFAVA staff by organizing and updating two libraries: the film, video and digital library; as
+ W# D/ Q5 s2 b" p% h: A Vwell as the script, magazine and book library.
; w6 _+ R& n7 O4 X* ]9 F. A# Q + i8 Y+ y4 H2 N9 l
Duties:
' Q; z+ R7 `1 b) H- Sort and catalogue the film, video and digital library ' q6 W, R1 S( @5 S' s
- Sort and catalogue scripts, magazine and books & z! s( q3 x7 F) ~* B
- Implement a catalogue template for future use
& ~# E' R2 \6 [$ o5 i# u& \- Update and develop loaning policy and procedure 6 L6 d9 c% {( t+ u" o, {
- Enforce FAVA’s standard of use policies where applicable

Qualifications: The ideal candidate will have:
! _3 M( d* }- Y) O* {7 `- A passionate interest in film, video and media arts . [. x- Y( K6 Q4 S _" U( u% n
- Strong organizational skills
1 M: `6 q2 ?- e$ |- Experience or training in library sciences preferred

- Strong team player abilities 7 p# m, V* K8 n" v5 N5 V
- Interest in working for an arts organization that is governed by a Board of Directors ; ^$ Q8 p7 ]+ O4 S g) |
