# g+ A: ] D0 N" ?; nFAVA is currently looking for a Librarian to join the FAVA team for 10 weeks in the + h# b& U: @7 a# X
summer of 2009. FAVA is a non-profit, charitable organization whose mandate is to % W' {3 q; a& K# w2 v- S% _
support the production and exhibition of film, video and media artists from Northern
' R+ s, p3 q' b# lAlberta.

FAVA serves members with diverse backgrounds and levels of experience, ranging from ) y a8 O! [4 x3 P. r% z
emerging, mid-range to established artists with an unwavering passion for film, video
/ w& v5 N$ E* yand media art. FAVA offers: a variety of workshops for artistic and skill development; is a 4 O1 H5 ^1 R. C: Q$ C$ \, W/ t( a
resource for production equipment and post-production facilities; hosts events and " q* `' U+ M; c Y8 I( o
screenings; and fosters and develops a dynamic media arts community in Northern

Job Description: The Librarian will report to the Executive Director and work with the 3 C" D6 H7 O! j, B- z; o
FAVA staff by organizing and updating two libraries: the film, video and digital library; as

Duties:
8 y2 C1 \7 L1 ]8 A- Sort and catalogue the film, video and digital library ! Z+ k& M* V4 X: Q' i" ?$ B; S
- Sort and catalogue scripts, magazine and books " J4 u! x' i- _2 s! P
- Implement a catalogue template for future use
) [6 v. S G$ a0 V. d- Update and develop loaning policy and procedure 6 I$ c- @, w/ T# f6 p: M
- Enforce FAVA’s standard of use policies where applicable

- Applicants must be unemployed and attending (or have recently completed) a post-

Qualifications: The ideal candidate will have: 1 u# V. {6 B: w/ w
- A passionate interest in film, video and media arts , Q# y: D/ _* p' ~0 @# P: s) R
- Strong organizational skills
5 n- f# P7 T( ?* M% l8 O d, `( R2 A- Experience or training in library sciences preferred
- A- y5 y, a5 Z0 u- Exceptional communication skills, written and verbal 6 K4 v9 y( K% \$ `: `
- Strong team player abilities 2 T5 i+ L6 d$ [ j# F! V. s
- Interest in working for an arts organization that is governed by a Board of Directors
