summer of 2009. FAVA is a non-profit, charitable organization whose mandate is to
+ \0 S. u9 \. E5 T. f7 bsupport the production and exhibition of film, video and media artists from Northern

FAVA serves members with diverse backgrounds and levels of experience, ranging from 1 N( f* p5 L4 ~! P; J9 Z
emerging, mid-range to established artists with an unwavering passion for film, video 9 n+ c. A6 x6 q7 Z
and media art. FAVA offers: a variety of workshops for artistic and skill development; is a

screenings; and fosters and develops a dynamic media arts community in Northern . b! ^ J- n" ]; {- F) @* [8 m

Job Description: The Librarian will report to the Executive Director and work with the ! v* K5 q7 F0 b5 ]: @- b" S6 ]9 Y
FAVA staff by organizing and updating two libraries: the film, video and digital library; as

) H& X$ ^- [+ u0 qDuties: # Q, g' f- ]; y! D/ U* @4 G2 O
- Sort and catalogue the film, video and digital library 3 K9 t& a4 A" k+ w! `, I+ |, _+ T
- Sort and catalogue scripts, magazine and books
6 U2 f# N+ Q- X4 E5 F# A- Implement a catalogue template for future use 7 |1 E1 \/ a+ {' s- i5 a+ E
- Update and develop loaning policy and procedure 2 a$ H, \2 y* v* S/ T
- Enforce FAVA’s standard of use policies where applicable 1 v/ u2 k+ o2 s4 k! e3 h+ [0 w

- Applicants must be unemployed and attending (or have recently completed) a post-5 M7 B2 b9 a) g, W
secondary training, university preferred

Qualifications: The ideal candidate will have:
; i' \- ?9 ?7 d; t& A- A passionate interest in film, video and media arts
1 e# y+ ~, b4 W" L: j' B- Strong organizational skills + M- w! b& x3 ?2 B6 \: d2 p
- Experience or training in library sciences preferred 4 Z Q: M+ [3 r. S; f! r$ p
- Exceptional communication skills, written and verbal / n! t! K/ v/ h6 R) F. V; M
- Strong team player abilities . B1 v5 D- a8 G1 I/ v$ C' a! u) w
- Interest in working for an arts organization that is governed by a Board of Directors
