FAVA is currently looking for a Librarian to join the FAVA team for 10 weeks in the
! ~# v& G0 J! d. s$ }0 ?! s' zsummer of 2009. FAVA is a non-profit, charitable organization whose mandate is to # G9 q+ [9 h: V0 N! B. s
support the production and exhibition of film, video and media artists from Northern
Q. o- Y' i1 C/ zAlberta.

FAVA serves members with diverse backgrounds and levels of experience, ranging from
: V6 [2 W: m) ]2 Lemerging, mid-range to established artists with an unwavering passion for film, video
) s( Q' \6 `) L0 w* c5 q/ yand media art. FAVA offers: a variety of workshops for artistic and skill development; is a
# w4 y( s0 ]& y& R b- i$ presource for production equipment and post-production facilities; hosts events and 0 s; m' V* y$ I5 Z: y
screenings; and fosters and develops a dynamic media arts community in Northern % |$ ^& x- A8 s; k

Job Description: The Librarian will report to the Executive Director and work with the
* o* A/ i0 Y; ^8 N$ Q$ h$ `4 CFAVA staff by organizing and updating two libraries: the film, video and digital library; as 1 U+ D5 [( Q! H" C* F, B4 m
well as the script, magazine and book library.

Duties: 9 H# y$ E$ G+ z! L3 d
- Sort and catalogue the film, video and digital library 3 y z0 s- I6 p% v
- Sort and catalogue scripts, magazine and books
3 i A5 a* v( j9 q$ l2 i# n. ]% h- Implement a catalogue template for future use 2 f3 z. e z# B* c
- Update and develop loaning policy and procedure 7 ~: Z, \- t: w z, k }! B, W3 r* \
- Enforce FAVA’s standard of use policies where applicable

- Wage is $15.00 per hour, 35 hours per week

- A passionate interest in film, video and media arts

- Experience or training in library sciences preferred , g" I3 T; W v# G S

- Interest in working for an arts organization that is governed by a Board of Directors
