; `; x4 Q6 a, N* O3 l; W+ d4 GFAVA is currently looking for a Librarian to join the FAVA team for 10 weeks in the
+ T3 o1 s1 i! N& csummer of 2009. FAVA is a non-profit, charitable organization whose mandate is to
support the production and exhibition of film, video and media artists from Northern
$ U* Y& A; G5 A# rAlberta.
% P3 t1 Q! t* \1 p$ k4 A
9 ]3 }* n: ]' X3 OFAVA serves members with diverse backgrounds and levels of experience, ranging from
emerging, mid-range to established artists with an unwavering passion for film, video
# c6 U2 q  p6 H# p+ i. U9 |# ^and media art. FAVA offers: a variety of workshops for artistic and skill development; is a
resource for production equipment and post-production facilities; hosts events and
, N- r" ~0 i: ]  N! }- k5 {8 ^screenings; and fosters and develops a dynamic media arts community in Northern
" N2 O  T- M$ |4 pAlberta.

Job Description: The Librarian will report to the Executive Director and work with the
, Z  d5 A1 D7 t4 t" EFAVA staff by organizing and updating two libraries: the film, video and digital library; as
6 u$ p4 n; S5 L1 w3 r& F( w( z( S* ywell as the script, magazine and book library.

  F5 J! B* K6 k0 z# j3 d- kDuties:
' m( y9 D1 P! Q! ^& ^8 k% S, ?- Sort and catalogue the film, video and digital library
- Sort and catalogue scripts, magazine and books
- Implement a catalogue template for future use
- Update and develop loaning policy and procedure
- Enforce FAVA’s standard of use policies where applicable

- Funding for this position is provided by the Summer Temporary Employment Program

- Applicants must be unemployed and attending (or have recently completed) a post-

- Wage is $15.00 per hour, 35 hours per week

- A passionate interest in film, video and media arts
( z0 |7 J% a' M% t5 w2 l- Strong organizational skills
- Experience or training in library sciences preferred
) W9 B, G) N8 G) |1 L* Z- Exceptional communication skills, written and verbal  
- Strong team player abilities
