1 y3 b# n0 n, E+ A1 O3 l/ RFAVA is currently looking for a Librarian to join the FAVA team for 10 weeks in the # N+ m, C. y# l2 B4 w! B
summer of 2009. FAVA is a non-profit, charitable organization whose mandate is to : s) {' g% v9 Q6 N* e4 n+ L
support the production and exhibition of film, video and media artists from Northern

7 b" V9 d+ X7 V: o, x( y; IFAVA serves members with diverse backgrounds and levels of experience, ranging from + F. U) i" M( U; y
emerging, mid-range to established artists with an unwavering passion for film, video
; C+ M. H; u% M% Band media art. FAVA offers: a variety of workshops for artistic and skill development; is a / l5 j& X9 g: h! ^ M' F
resource for production equipment and post-production facilities; hosts events and
: @2 w: O! k0 M5 Zscreenings; and fosters and develops a dynamic media arts community in Northern

Job Description: The Librarian will report to the Executive Director and work with the $ s$ |" f# x4 Y0 s) ]1 y0 l
FAVA staff by organizing and updating two libraries: the film, video and digital library; as
- p# p' e: q- p5 }3 q. W5 kwell as the script, magazine and book library.

- Sort and catalogue the film, video and digital library - n2 z3 r/ G7 U2 w
- Sort and catalogue scripts, magazine and books

- Update and develop loaning policy and procedure
T f1 L1 V$ x- Enforce FAVA’s standard of use policies where applicable 0 {, c- ^( X- S v( k

- Applicants must be unemployed and attending (or have recently completed) a post-! x% m, ~$ `# {; j- R$ H
secondary training, university preferred 1 D) l4 g5 [6 Z! u X; y% w
- Wage is $15.00 per hour, 35 hours per week , ~. Z+ t+ A* @2 B1 d
- Length of position: 10 consecutive weeks

- A passionate interest in film, video and media arts - Z; T% S1 F# r; J
- Strong organizational skills

- Exceptional communication skills, written and verbal
