FAVA is currently looking for a Librarian to join the FAVA team for 10 weeks in the
! p: m& V+ Y- z k( t. Ssummer of 2009. FAVA is a non-profit, charitable organization whose mandate is to
7 L4 Y! P$ [) T* D* e# asupport the production and exhibition of film, video and media artists from Northern

FAVA serves members with diverse backgrounds and levels of experience, ranging from 9 X- y9 _, K1 w. K5 K

. V; Q; l+ k* q; z) P/ h3 Fresource for production equipment and post-production facilities; hosts events and T- _2 m/ G) Q' m7 C' o2 y
screenings; and fosters and develops a dynamic media arts community in Northern

Job Description: The Librarian will report to the Executive Director and work with the
5 T* f! g) S2 k; b2 cFAVA staff by organizing and updating two libraries: the film, video and digital library; as 6 c" R1 o. p+ c+ a, h
well as the script, magazine and book library. 3 E" u( o$ m5 G3 ^

Duties: ) l% D. w9 ^7 W
- Sort and catalogue the film, video and digital library ( u4 w$ G2 o4 {# C% i8 v
- Sort and catalogue scripts, magazine and books " p) ^: _8 O7 S+ j [/ X5 Y
- Implement a catalogue template for future use
. q' k+ c S* `3 K7 r- Update and develop loaning policy and procedure

Qualifications: The ideal candidate will have: 0 @! {8 Z0 L8 x, @& m0 G
- A passionate interest in film, video and media arts 0 V( ]. A6 N. g" h" N8 F
- Strong organizational skills 6 F* g+ X& f+ A
- Experience or training in library sciences preferred 0 y d# ^; J# |: F" H/ _2 w
- Exceptional communication skills, written and verbal
