FAVA is currently looking for a Librarian to join the FAVA team for 10 weeks in the
summer of 2009. FAVA is a non-profit, charitable organization whose mandate is to
' y" j% G  ^" I) [& u0 Lsupport the production and exhibition of film, video and media artists from Northern
Alberta.

% h7 \: r; F6 N9 j1 \  b1 `2 n  B! IFAVA serves members with diverse backgrounds and levels of experience, ranging from
emerging, mid-range to established artists with an unwavering passion for film, video
$ ~" [- c0 @$ v; _0 pand media art. FAVA offers: a variety of workshops for artistic and skill development; is a
7 s' V- I5 X- ^5 n! f& lresource for production equipment and post-production facilities; hosts events and
screenings; and fosters and develops a dynamic media arts community in Northern
( X7 d% S% j6 |! |1 n7 z: }8 U/ c/ L/ }Alberta.

Job Description: The Librarian will report to the Executive Director and work with the
FAVA staff by organizing and updating two libraries: the film, video and digital library; as
1 e, _: W. V" e, l6 t9 Ywell as the script, magazine and book library.

% M0 w  ~) [$ V$ `Duties:
8 h, ^4 ~7 L8 C. P( L- Sort and catalogue the film, video and digital library
& w% m, [$ H& ^3 T+ P- Sort and catalogue scripts, magazine and books
- Implement a catalogue template for future use
- Update and develop loaning policy and procedure
- Enforce FAVA’s standard of use policies where applicable

1 _' c9 g3 ?! j! o5 l) Ysecondary training, university preferred
- Wage is $15.00 per hour, 35 hours per week
% e" ^6 u6 n* a9 I$ K: w- Length of position: 10 consecutive weeks

Qualifications: The ideal candidate will have:
- A passionate interest in film, video and media arts
$ W' `  K6 a, l9 G0 T- c# F- Strong organizational skills
) T. h- \' Q, t( l3 {- Experience or training in library sciences preferred
' a9 b/ F5 E8 o& X% `( s- Exceptional communication skills, written and verbal  
- Strong team player abilities
% S: e5 V$ F( v! f' I- Interest in working for an arts organization that is governed by a Board of Directors
