FAVA is currently looking for a Librarian to join the FAVA team for 10 weeks in the
9 S  W% A7 i* ?  qsummer of 2009. FAVA is a non-profit, charitable organization whose mandate is to
7 P6 u4 I6 X7 J  p" P( B/ A. Isupport the production and exhibition of film, video and media artists from Northern
Alberta.

& N5 B' K0 f5 L/ i" i  a8 z) MFAVA serves members with diverse backgrounds and levels of experience, ranging from
emerging, mid-range to established artists with an unwavering passion for film, video
and media art. FAVA offers: a variety of workshops for artistic and skill development; is a
2 q) E1 y' P, s5 F/ j' l. yresource for production equipment and post-production facilities; hosts events and
* D' q! X* Z  d/ e, P! K  p8 ]7 `screenings; and fosters and develops a dynamic media arts community in Northern
Alberta.

Job Description: The Librarian will report to the Executive Director and work with the
FAVA staff by organizing and updating two libraries: the film, video and digital library; as
9 X+ a0 f* f  R! Hwell as the script, magazine and book library.

- Sort and catalogue the film, video and digital library
( g0 F/ B/ Z. e- g3 Z0 o- Sort and catalogue scripts, magazine and books
- Implement a catalogue template for future use
- Update and develop loaning policy and procedure
- Enforce FAVA’s standard of use policies where applicable

- Funding for this position is provided by the Summer Temporary Employment Program

% |1 \5 R& y2 ~( t+ j' gsecondary training, university preferred
- Wage is $15.00 per hour, 35 hours per week

- A passionate interest in film, video and media arts
- Strong organizational skills
- Experience or training in library sciences preferred
