+ `6 i0 E. d& ^% a  A  ?FAVA is currently looking for a Librarian to join the FAVA team for 10 weeks in the
4 l7 |8 r6 Q! ?& }- i2 B% V6 f4 b( Dsummer of 2009. FAVA is a non-profit, charitable organization whose mandate is to
' o" P* @( J7 c2 Tsupport the production and exhibition of film, video and media artists from Northern
; F$ K# X4 h1 {  ~7 [! F5 P$ PAlberta.

9 W) o7 q4 g* G9 \: K# W2 DFAVA serves members with diverse backgrounds and levels of experience, ranging from
emerging, mid-range to established artists with an unwavering passion for film, video
7 W5 X$ v/ i/ N; K& ]! ]and media art. FAVA offers: a variety of workshops for artistic and skill development; is a
; d+ M( @  d3 b$ y0 wresource for production equipment and post-production facilities; hosts events and
# u# s* l9 z5 N1 s; Jscreenings; and fosters and develops a dynamic media arts community in Northern

: c) L3 p* t9 U; UJob Description: The Librarian will report to the Executive Director and work with the
- }) R6 B. @! C8 U- D; e0 ~5 `* p" NFAVA staff by organizing and updating two libraries: the film, video and digital library; as
well as the script, magazine and book library.

6 L4 Q+ `! w" _1 P" \5 NDuties:
- Sort and catalogue the film, video and digital library
- Sort and catalogue scripts, magazine and books
# d! x' O) y' i. v& K2 ?- Implement a catalogue template for future use
7 V8 h+ ?9 u- t& e% h- Update and develop loaning policy and procedure
, w" W' S+ B5 @5 ^  ^5 A( t- Enforce FAVA’s standard of use policies where applicable

) O5 v  h0 }! \( O4 Y- Applicants must be unemployed and attending (or have recently completed) a post-
secondary training, university preferred
- Wage is $15.00 per hour, 35 hours per week
- Length of position: 10 consecutive weeks

- A passionate interest in film, video and media arts
- Strong organizational skills
- Experience or training in library sciences preferred
- Exceptional communication skills, written and verbal  
+ r5 H+ Z0 m, S0 y1 n* r9 i- Strong team player abilities
- Interest in working for an arts organization that is governed by a Board of Directors
