FAVA is currently looking for a Librarian to join the FAVA team for 10 weeks in the
- G; F4 I. O  x  E; r6 P5 Esummer of 2009. FAVA is a non-profit, charitable organization whose mandate is to
support the production and exhibition of film, video and media artists from Northern
9 z7 Y& o' t, V9 M9 IAlberta.

" A+ A+ o) d4 x; FFAVA serves members with diverse backgrounds and levels of experience, ranging from
  [# b9 N1 |. l' U$ H4 zemerging, mid-range to established artists with an unwavering passion for film, video
: X0 s; J$ \! l6 N, b5 D; G; K4 band media art. FAVA offers: a variety of workshops for artistic and skill development; is a
resource for production equipment and post-production facilities; hosts events and
screenings; and fosters and develops a dynamic media arts community in Northern
& w5 R2 _; `7 |8 D( d& xAlberta.

Job Description: The Librarian will report to the Executive Director and work with the
FAVA staff by organizing and updating two libraries: the film, video and digital library; as
well as the script, magazine and book library.
! ^6 n/ ^. G0 q0 n6 c6 j
Duties:
- Sort and catalogue the film, video and digital library
- Sort and catalogue scripts, magazine and books
- Implement a catalogue template for future use
3 V! P; d3 Z- A) b& ~7 z/ M% F- Update and develop loaning policy and procedure
  G/ |* I1 x7 m, e- Enforce FAVA’s standard of use policies where applicable

4 s, L7 e9 w6 b4 n+ I& p+ i) ]- Wage is $15.00 per hour, 35 hours per week
- Length of position: 10 consecutive weeks

Qualifications: The ideal candidate will have:
- A passionate interest in film, video and media arts
- Strong organizational skills
- Experience or training in library sciences preferred
' W- n9 ^$ }$ g( G- Exceptional communication skills, written and verbal  
- Strong team player abilities
- Interest in working for an arts organization that is governed by a Board of Directors
