( m- T( n6 r JFAVA is currently looking for a Librarian to join the FAVA team for 10 weeks in the 3 p. p5 ?1 c7 d( M; m
summer of 2009. FAVA is a non-profit, charitable organization whose mandate is to ' h$ S, ?% I: |4 @) A3 Z0 s8 c* g
support the production and exhibition of film, video and media artists from Northern

FAVA serves members with diverse backgrounds and levels of experience, ranging from
) \0 ^, w5 I6 ~: Y6 u E, P/ m; zemerging, mid-range to established artists with an unwavering passion for film, video
" B0 E) E8 y% S, G* I& qand media art. FAVA offers: a variety of workshops for artistic and skill development; is a " w- {5 @& `/ K% L" E
resource for production equipment and post-production facilities; hosts events and
& s1 b1 O4 d4 \screenings; and fosters and develops a dynamic media arts community in Northern 6 Q5 I% }( S/ x
Alberta.

Job Description: The Librarian will report to the Executive Director and work with the $ G5 i( j$ H4 g+ o/ O3 F
FAVA staff by organizing and updating two libraries: the film, video and digital library; as
4 Z! b* n6 |- Dwell as the script, magazine and book library.

Duties:
0 A. `3 y/ R/ E1 \- Sort and catalogue the film, video and digital library
+ ]0 a" D/ W/ |3 K: D- Sort and catalogue scripts, magazine and books , T" ^% f0 M- H3 s
- Implement a catalogue template for future use 1 i k9 n( l/ F/ k) f0 I
- Update and develop loaning policy and procedure
, T. k" O7 g' R- ~: ] J' {$ X" D- Enforce FAVA’s standard of use policies where applicable

- Applicants must be unemployed and attending (or have recently completed) a post-+ {8 }9 H2 W; [# J
secondary training, university preferred 4 K# e5 Q) K7 _6 ?( H, h9 B7 o
- Wage is $15.00 per hour, 35 hours per week
- ^( h, O: X* G- H! P- Length of position: 10 consecutive weeks , z# d0 G; i& o- j

Qualifications: The ideal candidate will have:
; k c4 ^" U& g s* v! ]$ U( h- T- A passionate interest in film, video and media arts 6 o! W2 e: d" [+ ]$ g+ p
- Strong organizational skills 9 b& Z0 T/ L( n" @- T( B
- Experience or training in library sciences preferred
% e) A0 [( f1 S# h& @- Exceptional communication skills, written and verbal
" B. d M7 [; y% o3 \- Strong team player abilities ; X( f+ a8 y1 H& P; \
- Interest in working for an arts organization that is governed by a Board of Directors
