FAVA is currently looking for a Librarian to join the FAVA team for 10 weeks in the 2 S' T+ H b3 d/ J5 Z& o. }
summer of 2009. FAVA is a non-profit, charitable organization whose mandate is to ( y4 h, `. X" Z# B
support the production and exhibition of film, video and media artists from Northern . i+ o0 `1 q& l& y+ B- c/ ]

FAVA serves members with diverse backgrounds and levels of experience, ranging from
* W7 b: B# Y% L+ |emerging, mid-range to established artists with an unwavering passion for film, video * b' |' J% p; N: V
and media art. FAVA offers: a variety of workshops for artistic and skill development; is a

Job Description: The Librarian will report to the Executive Director and work with the / t2 C5 t, V% N+ _
FAVA staff by organizing and updating two libraries: the film, video and digital library; as . f6 _5 q5 k ?! u
well as the script, magazine and book library.

- Sort and catalogue the film, video and digital library 3 @" J% J+ o1 I! S% U; k# K7 @$ N
- Sort and catalogue scripts, magazine and books 0 y' q6 z" C5 b; ~5 U+ P. J
- Implement a catalogue template for future use * T3 s( w$ I- x6 t9 d' p0 X
- Update and develop loaning policy and procedure
* _* ]! u- s3 m9 S4 L/ ]- Enforce FAVA’s standard of use policies where applicable 6 O( E% ]2 P4 X. N0 U. D

- Applicants must be unemployed and attending (or have recently completed) a post-' u4 I. T; W6 u8 R: c {
secondary training, university preferred + O6 y- v! {! X7 ]
- Wage is $15.00 per hour, 35 hours per week

Qualifications: The ideal candidate will have: " c E' E9 W& B) D9 o6 P7 a R
- A passionate interest in film, video and media arts ) A( O/ _- j* N# i5 T! g! I
- Strong organizational skills 8 P4 [3 `% P; I( F% Y$ Z
- Experience or training in library sciences preferred * B% u4 R2 G. x9 M8 g& k" {
- Exceptional communication skills, written and verbal
