FAVA is currently looking for a Librarian to join the FAVA team for 10 weeks in the
" B$ N6 y* E2 h8 }5 q2 G4 ~! L" nsummer of 2009. FAVA is a non-profit, charitable organization whose mandate is to 3 ~5 ?7 d; f/ u9 j4 \1 y) d
support the production and exhibition of film, video and media artists from Northern
N4 Z) P6 e4 V. Y7 x6 n" cAlberta. ' @9 Q- B3 l/ ^& c2 \. I9 ?
& x! b J: }2 x) LFAVA serves members with diverse backgrounds and levels of experience, ranging from
& n9 J4 u7 |. r% m$ V8 memerging, mid-range to established artists with an unwavering passion for film, video 7 |" B: j; f- d: f# r# m
and media art. FAVA offers: a variety of workshops for artistic and skill development; is a
6 B7 m9 h7 g4 J) |- b( |4 a* Nresource for production equipment and post-production facilities; hosts events and

Job Description: The Librarian will report to the Executive Director and work with the
8 D$ ?0 b7 {$ k3 T4 N. M( h7 g6 `FAVA staff by organizing and updating two libraries: the film, video and digital library; as
2 b* y. q1 B" V) z% |) U! g' mwell as the script, magazine and book library. p$ ], @$ G+ D# B

Duties: ' G: F: B, ]& e1 m3 |) n0 `2 g) o
- Sort and catalogue the film, video and digital library
$ L! ` Z+ Z% ]% G% o- Sort and catalogue scripts, magazine and books * w' m. k* _! f4 t
- Implement a catalogue template for future use 1 Y+ {% ]4 g7 h/ G3 `1 G
- Update and develop loaning policy and procedure " ]1 P3 B3 d& P5 m6 g$ {
- Enforce FAVA’s standard of use policies where applicable

- Applicants must be unemployed and attending (or have recently completed) a post-; O* f% Q$ d$ ^+ G
secondary training, university preferred

- Length of position: 10 consecutive weeks

* x4 n0 j+ j& u2 R- A passionate interest in film, video and media arts

- Experience or training in library sciences preferred . F' [; C/ J% o+ b" n4 _
- Exceptional communication skills, written and verbal + r1 i/ k& Y* y- V, H. A
- Strong team player abilities
