FAVA is currently looking for a Librarian to join the FAVA team for 10 weeks in the
summer of 2009. FAVA is a non-profit, charitable organization whose mandate is to
support the production and exhibition of film, video and media artists from Northern
$ l( p$ `5 l2 cAlberta.

FAVA serves members with diverse backgrounds and levels of experience, ranging from
emerging, mid-range to established artists with an unwavering passion for film, video
$ W$ `4 v+ X4 w( j( ^) o, Iand media art. FAVA offers: a variety of workshops for artistic and skill development; is a
6 q% s( z* m4 X  Dresource for production equipment and post-production facilities; hosts events and
, e6 J( v3 h# u  s0 f/ c- Lscreenings; and fosters and develops a dynamic media arts community in Northern
Alberta.

Job Description: The Librarian will report to the Executive Director and work with the
FAVA staff by organizing and updating two libraries: the film, video and digital library; as

Duties:
- B* R+ u2 m7 b& \" n# U0 \- Sort and catalogue the film, video and digital library
. {" R/ a4 l$ G# e4 ?1 J4 W6 e- Sort and catalogue scripts, magazine and books
- Implement a catalogue template for future use
% r5 J+ y6 a, c# ~9 X. X/ X- Update and develop loaning policy and procedure
0 a0 a  {6 |* i, X# R) A- Enforce FAVA’s standard of use policies where applicable

(STEP)

- A passionate interest in film, video and media arts
7 G7 I1 m' ~( n* F- Strong organizational skills
' y0 i' Y6 J# g5 U" `- Experience or training in library sciences preferred
5 d0 |( k/ c4 F. c7 [" m% t0 E! ^- Exceptional communication skills, written and verbal  
- Strong team player abilities
