FAVA is currently looking for a Librarian to join the FAVA team for 10 weeks in the
) V. ~& J; A2 r* Ksummer of 2009. FAVA is a non-profit, charitable organization whose mandate is to
% c4 h& u1 L( O0 _support the production and exhibition of film, video and media artists from Northern & r3 b" z. x& n: L0 G7 E% C" P
Alberta.

FAVA serves members with diverse backgrounds and levels of experience, ranging from

and media art. FAVA offers: a variety of workshops for artistic and skill development; is a ; _# A; A8 Z* }5 V2 w
resource for production equipment and post-production facilities; hosts events and

( {( h" Y( X$ n f$ O# \* rJob Description: The Librarian will report to the Executive Director and work with the
' i J8 a. _- N9 q8 `+ @FAVA staff by organizing and updating two libraries: the film, video and digital library; as
! U' W# G" g5 Y% a6 u* Rwell as the script, magazine and book library.

E+ S, y. V) p- o) Z- Sort and catalogue the film, video and digital library 1 Y' y! H! J; X6 _& ~1 _
- Sort and catalogue scripts, magazine and books
$ w2 [! V+ ] r V3 F- Implement a catalogue template for future use ) x2 `' F0 e8 f3 c2 l' H
- Update and develop loaning policy and procedure 0 c$ B$ q7 r n
- Enforce FAVA’s standard of use policies where applicable

- Applicants must be unemployed and attending (or have recently completed) a post-5 Q7 S: T+ b. j J
secondary training, university preferred 8 H! ^) T* \; m4 z- h( ^
- Wage is $15.00 per hour, 35 hours per week . u1 v8 f6 Y3 C6 X8 A. E \
- Length of position: 10 consecutive weeks 2 v5 O/ I: T' a6 C5 Q% K

- Strong organizational skills
1 r2 L+ r3 C. @ r2 I- Experience or training in library sciences preferred
