FAVA is currently looking for a Librarian to join the FAVA team for 10 weeks in the 6 j9 c6 v: j& @$ ?! ?' G1 ~
summer of 2009. FAVA is a non-profit, charitable organization whose mandate is to
6 U7 l$ b# x' Usupport the production and exhibition of film, video and media artists from Northern

emerging, mid-range to established artists with an unwavering passion for film, video
3 c! Y% o/ c# k0 H. vand media art. FAVA offers: a variety of workshops for artistic and skill development; is a

screenings; and fosters and develops a dynamic media arts community in Northern

Job Description: The Librarian will report to the Executive Director and work with the & _. M* }, L( K% M3 a
FAVA staff by organizing and updating two libraries: the film, video and digital library; as * H7 O- m$ O, ]; y `7 o9 D
well as the script, magazine and book library.

Duties:
. X% {( J: O7 f/ ~- Sort and catalogue the film, video and digital library / O3 ]8 C6 f; P5 k1 T. w
- Sort and catalogue scripts, magazine and books 8 j2 c8 S; H Q
- Implement a catalogue template for future use
; o6 W, r& N( a& F c/ o- Update and develop loaning policy and procedure - S# ^" H' u' a( H5 K/ {
- Enforce FAVA’s standard of use policies where applicable

Qualifications: The ideal candidate will have:

2 w# ?1 g6 W: O" K3 f$ Q- Experience or training in library sciences preferred \! I7 S$ K8 i, p
- Exceptional communication skills, written and verbal

- Interest in working for an arts organization that is governed by a Board of Directors
