FAVA is currently looking for a Librarian to join the FAVA team for 10 weeks in the 3 ~4 A" w8 {# p4 C! ^0 L
summer of 2009. FAVA is a non-profit, charitable organization whose mandate is to 6 X" Z9 U) {, `& i6 O+ z
support the production and exhibition of film, video and media artists from Northern

emerging, mid-range to established artists with an unwavering passion for film, video 8 ^& o8 ^) `9 t9 b8 V
and media art. FAVA offers: a variety of workshops for artistic and skill development; is a 8 I% t1 w' E) f/ D' t
resource for production equipment and post-production facilities; hosts events and

Job Description: The Librarian will report to the Executive Director and work with the 7 d8 \% K% W; F3 I/ E" V
FAVA staff by organizing and updating two libraries: the film, video and digital library; as
# q& O9 d; f* v, \/ S6 X+ M5 Jwell as the script, magazine and book library. * f. v1 Q8 ^" D: b. @ A8 y. ?

- Sort and catalogue the film, video and digital library / c0 d& J- J" E- m& D4 |; C' o
- Sort and catalogue scripts, magazine and books
( A( m9 e8 n8 k8 Y# b$ O- Implement a catalogue template for future use ) M. E8 w8 y4 Q
- Update and develop loaning policy and procedure 9 _) p% T9 z% Q. i
- Enforce FAVA’s standard of use policies where applicable

- Applicants must be unemployed and attending (or have recently completed) a post-

Qualifications: The ideal candidate will have: 1 l; G* ~/ x7 N" L
- A passionate interest in film, video and media arts
5 n' L& P# L; k" I- Strong organizational skills
3 C7 j: |. F& E+ J: a) v* x/ O- Experience or training in library sciences preferred
0 `3 h/ ~" a' b( w) o- x7 k0 p- Exceptional communication skills, written and verbal

5 m0 f" B1 V; [- Interest in working for an arts organization that is governed by a Board of Directors
