FAVA is currently looking for a Librarian to join the FAVA team for 10 weeks in the
; ]8 k1 Q4 M5 ]summer of 2009. FAVA is a non-profit, charitable organization whose mandate is to " }: x- e% h5 z' A/ j- }
support the production and exhibition of film, video and media artists from Northern
; ~5 t( _+ S* Q5 jAlberta.

3 \$ u2 F5 q+ C1 D4 R9 J7 MFAVA serves members with diverse backgrounds and levels of experience, ranging from
9 v. A8 c6 E* z/ O; ?7 O8 Eemerging, mid-range to established artists with an unwavering passion for film, video * H/ G( E& V( `! X
and media art. FAVA offers: a variety of workshops for artistic and skill development; is a
$ T/ [% E" M4 `" d$ S" A" j# n; a" nresource for production equipment and post-production facilities; hosts events and
( R# c* Q7 a I1 f( P5 Y. [8 Escreenings; and fosters and develops a dynamic media arts community in Northern

Job Description: The Librarian will report to the Executive Director and work with the 6 L o: j" M$ L, E
FAVA staff by organizing and updating two libraries: the film, video and digital library; as
0 a& S% \& q- I% t" Mwell as the script, magazine and book library. . u Z* X4 K2 P6 ^6 A) S% ^

8 S; q/ Z7 K1 M9 n6 D- Sort and catalogue the film, video and digital library
1 P: p }, c- v1 O5 M) O7 r- Sort and catalogue scripts, magazine and books
: D" @6 T: H+ d) q; g' o3 B- Implement a catalogue template for future use
, e8 W# r- T0 t5 w! j) t& f- K- Update and develop loaning policy and procedure
; ?8 [6 f% w4 R6 _6 ]- Enforce FAVA’s standard of use policies where applicable

- Funding for this position is provided by the Summer Temporary Employment Program

Qualifications: The ideal candidate will have:
5 X) a, E7 a3 o- A passionate interest in film, video and media arts $ C9 Z) R8 }0 ~6 {3 Q7 D4 S
- Strong organizational skills
9 u3 [! u$ c" Q. s$ J3 [* {. M6 U- Experience or training in library sciences preferred
/ C" V! G( P! T2 N( u- Exceptional communication skills, written and verbal + e0 Q% D _* `. J3 A8 _7 H* q
- Strong team player abilities 5 \ [/ o. f$ q: l9 n, e" Q7 s3 r
- Interest in working for an arts organization that is governed by a Board of Directors
