FAVA is currently looking for a Librarian to join the FAVA team for 10 weeks in the
1 g: K' k, I! Isummer of 2009. FAVA is a non-profit, charitable organization whose mandate is to
, M+ d- e- [( T J% `9 csupport the production and exhibition of film, video and media artists from Northern

FAVA serves members with diverse backgrounds and levels of experience, ranging from

and media art. FAVA offers: a variety of workshops for artistic and skill development; is a % f+ J9 p3 W1 I# v! o( j. k$ X
resource for production equipment and post-production facilities; hosts events and
& K! x3 T* _; b3 w8 f. sscreenings; and fosters and develops a dynamic media arts community in Northern * Z8 q L4 H: R3 q$ q/ L9 B

+ y {. g( F* Q. DJob Description: The Librarian will report to the Executive Director and work with the
; O; X% |0 P+ h- F/ {& ]( `+ tFAVA staff by organizing and updating two libraries: the film, video and digital library; as " Q' m9 y& j L' h) i5 G
well as the script, magazine and book library. ; b; c/ r) ^' C

: I4 k4 `0 j) n& y7 L4 h: G6 D9 w- Sort and catalogue the film, video and digital library
5 {! ]2 A7 O& i( ?! |- Sort and catalogue scripts, magazine and books
n K) T3 X& z5 t" i5 Q- Implement a catalogue template for future use . H, b/ O9 ?3 `4 g! g) s6 x
- Update and develop loaning policy and procedure
7 o, @& L7 ^& ]+ } F$ I- Enforce FAVA’s standard of use policies where applicable

- Applicants must be unemployed and attending (or have recently completed) a post-9 m. B6 P! ]7 x- n8 y6 a8 Z( V1 d
secondary training, university preferred ) w: p2 F' d8 ?# Y4 d
- Wage is $15.00 per hour, 35 hours per week # M& Y/ W3 N+ e8 d# k9 _) l! \7 A5 z
- Length of position: 10 consecutive weeks ' ?# t2 h) I' s ?# V' J+ H; l

- Experience or training in library sciences preferred
