FAVA is currently looking for a Librarian to join the FAVA team for 10 weeks in the 0 V, }5 ^$ j. \5 l# e7 `4 t% y
summer of 2009. FAVA is a non-profit, charitable organization whose mandate is to
% `- l) j% ^, {% Psupport the production and exhibition of film, video and media artists from Northern
7 ^' T1 z+ C: C- `: gAlberta. ; k8 `6 ?3 ^; l. q; }
6 ^; f. ^- t/ QFAVA serves members with diverse backgrounds and levels of experience, ranging from
, p0 ^5 Q* }% ~emerging, mid-range to established artists with an unwavering passion for film, video
1 ]9 R$ ^5 |4 w8 f% |& yand media art. FAVA offers: a variety of workshops for artistic and skill development; is a 4 M7 n2 `" \+ l. W
resource for production equipment and post-production facilities; hosts events and ( y. C! ~8 P2 G- v- I+ a6 X
screenings; and fosters and develops a dynamic media arts community in Northern

Job Description: The Librarian will report to the Executive Director and work with the , n7 {' K; d( O- h+ p9 v+ u) L
FAVA staff by organizing and updating two libraries: the film, video and digital library; as 4 W7 G6 Y9 p2 Y6 C4 j
well as the script, magazine and book library. 5 P' d2 z0 }$ L- }

Duties:
% L: x8 \/ B7 Y4 F9 c4 l: f. a- Sort and catalogue the film, video and digital library # r0 F9 F# H8 A- A0 w: L
- Sort and catalogue scripts, magazine and books
. P8 u) e& i9 Q- Implement a catalogue template for future use
: G8 }; ^' j% V4 ~5 [$ x( C4 N- Update and develop loaning policy and procedure 5 z }+ T7 Y* X. M2 ~8 N
- Enforce FAVA’s standard of use policies where applicable

- Length of position: 10 consecutive weeks

Qualifications: The ideal candidate will have:

- Strong organizational skills 5 Z* z$ p( d% a& V9 l. }; m8 o
- Experience or training in library sciences preferred

- Strong team player abilities
