3 }8 f( {8 P, gFAVA is currently looking for a Librarian to join the FAVA team for 10 weeks in the
summer of 2009. FAVA is a non-profit, charitable organization whose mandate is to
support the production and exhibition of film, video and media artists from Northern
/ \$ ?4 B5 W7 hAlberta.

FAVA serves members with diverse backgrounds and levels of experience, ranging from
# A8 A, v3 O* z4 cemerging, mid-range to established artists with an unwavering passion for film, video
and media art. FAVA offers: a variety of workshops for artistic and skill development; is a
( V* E' r' `6 [% W, Tresource for production equipment and post-production facilities; hosts events and
8 P8 c1 Y- i$ n' Jscreenings; and fosters and develops a dynamic media arts community in Northern
/ `% C! b8 v2 ]2 MAlberta.

Job Description: The Librarian will report to the Executive Director and work with the
FAVA staff by organizing and updating two libraries: the film, video and digital library; as
well as the script, magazine and book library.

Duties:
- Sort and catalogue the film, video and digital library
- Sort and catalogue scripts, magazine and books
: x3 P1 q2 t# q. v- Implement a catalogue template for future use
- Update and develop loaning policy and procedure
" D- _! {3 M0 i+ n  v- Enforce FAVA’s standard of use policies where applicable

Details:
- Funding for this position is provided by the Summer Temporary Employment Program

7 t+ P* z/ J  {2 ?1 `# D  d- Applicants must be unemployed and attending (or have recently completed) a post-
secondary training, university preferred
- Wage is $15.00 per hour, 35 hours per week
- Length of position: 10 consecutive weeks

Qualifications: The ideal candidate will have:
5 A- g5 T, {2 a# W) c! D- A passionate interest in film, video and media arts
0 K& C, X5 I( b& h: W- G- Strong organizational skills
+ X' K0 q" j: f! {8 N- Experience or training in library sciences preferred
- Exceptional communication skills, written and verbal  
- Strong team player abilities
- Interest in working for an arts organization that is governed by a Board of Directors
