FAVA is currently looking for a Librarian to join the FAVA team for 10 weeks in the T7 G3 _& ^ ^8 O
summer of 2009. FAVA is a non-profit, charitable organization whose mandate is to

5 q: P r8 f! W5 f* F" B1 T5 |FAVA serves members with diverse backgrounds and levels of experience, ranging from
, P! R- r- o. j. M3 K) Pemerging, mid-range to established artists with an unwavering passion for film, video E8 C4 q* ]# e7 b* A
and media art. FAVA offers: a variety of workshops for artistic and skill development; is a 8 s0 E4 a' L. Q' H$ {
resource for production equipment and post-production facilities; hosts events and % x1 X7 s. E- a8 O% ~
screenings; and fosters and develops a dynamic media arts community in Northern

Job Description: The Librarian will report to the Executive Director and work with the ) ^- |$ I `% e3 {
FAVA staff by organizing and updating two libraries: the film, video and digital library; as " x/ c9 ?5 m: T$ i r* ?/ N" V& p
well as the script, magazine and book library.

- Sort and catalogue the film, video and digital library * F( d) x* ?$ a5 I8 o6 d
- Sort and catalogue scripts, magazine and books

- Update and develop loaning policy and procedure

Qualifications: The ideal candidate will have: 9 p* ?" z, r2 O6 f8 t
- A passionate interest in film, video and media arts
4 Z. ?6 U: x% f. M, ?& f9 W- Strong organizational skills % `" x' `& f6 j& [; S1 Q
- Experience or training in library sciences preferred 8 [, ^- C, W) B8 o! {" B; @
- Exceptional communication skills, written and verbal

- Interest in working for an arts organization that is governed by a Board of Directors
