# v/ O) A" j# I) h( ]FAVA is currently looking for a Librarian to join the FAVA team for 10 weeks in the
summer of 2009. FAVA is a non-profit, charitable organization whose mandate is to
, j: r! {$ ?1 j' z& b' A  dsupport the production and exhibition of film, video and media artists from Northern
& K) z( Y- R& ^* ]* c( R5 G! eAlberta.

FAVA serves members with diverse backgrounds and levels of experience, ranging from
) f& d7 y+ h4 [emerging, mid-range to established artists with an unwavering passion for film, video
and media art. FAVA offers: a variety of workshops for artistic and skill development; is a
8 s0 r6 v. I: n) l, Cresource for production equipment and post-production facilities; hosts events and
screenings; and fosters and develops a dynamic media arts community in Northern
Alberta.

Job Description: The Librarian will report to the Executive Director and work with the
FAVA staff by organizing and updating two libraries: the film, video and digital library; as
9 I7 v: P. m# F6 m( Q* r3 H  P9 Rwell as the script, magazine and book library.

Duties:
- Sort and catalogue the film, video and digital library
- Sort and catalogue scripts, magazine and books
- Implement a catalogue template for future use
- Update and develop loaning policy and procedure
" x4 V, K0 P; T& Z7 a  u- Enforce FAVA’s standard of use policies where applicable

- Funding for this position is provided by the Summer Temporary Employment Program

% T- V- a0 A9 c7 i/ L- Applicants must be unemployed and attending (or have recently completed) a post-
secondary training, university preferred
+ h& }7 N( j1 w6 ?) l4 p4 C- Wage is $15.00 per hour, 35 hours per week
) k7 x7 h$ Y% _! W- Length of position: 10 consecutive weeks

- A passionate interest in film, video and media arts
- Strong organizational skills
- Experience or training in library sciences preferred
- Exceptional communication skills, written and verbal
