# @. M6 X+ {( f6 S* ~  `% u1 c; dFAVA is currently looking for a Librarian to join the FAVA team for 10 weeks in the
summer of 2009. FAVA is a non-profit, charitable organization whose mandate is to
support the production and exhibition of film, video and media artists from Northern
) x' G, t7 Y1 Y: gAlberta.

FAVA serves members with diverse backgrounds and levels of experience, ranging from
emerging, mid-range to established artists with an unwavering passion for film, video
9 @0 i: i/ m, f/ Tand media art. FAVA offers: a variety of workshops for artistic and skill development; is a
resource for production equipment and post-production facilities; hosts events and
: I% g3 G7 w" Uscreenings; and fosters and develops a dynamic media arts community in Northern
) s/ K) m& M3 n1 _6 C, g% P" cAlberta.

Job Description: The Librarian will report to the Executive Director and work with the
9 M* a- K$ q/ L7 ^) ]+ t1 a+ D# o: xFAVA staff by organizing and updating two libraries: the film, video and digital library; as
( c! H5 E; H) {0 e5 E# w' Kwell as the script, magazine and book library.

* B7 v4 c) `1 s6 ^/ A& Y5 Z- Sort and catalogue the film, video and digital library
! ^; C5 P7 d+ H( `( f) t- Sort and catalogue scripts, magazine and books
# K0 _; Y" @# T& `8 t: k% K8 _- Implement a catalogue template for future use
- Update and develop loaning policy and procedure
- Enforce FAVA’s standard of use policies where applicable

- Applicants must be unemployed and attending (or have recently completed) a post-

& o+ B# s& b% J7 i3 E6 r( _, Y" S! P- Wage is $15.00 per hour, 35 hours per week
- Length of position: 10 consecutive weeks

Qualifications: The ideal candidate will have:
- A passionate interest in film, video and media arts
( s& m9 w' ]' b7 T- Strong organizational skills
8 ?: b0 s7 @( @$ [+ k& i+ H/ a- Experience or training in library sciences preferred
- Exceptional communication skills, written and verbal  
4 g+ E' l: B+ S0 @& t4 v- Strong team player abilities
