2 }: o" ^& u( C* _& ^FAVA is currently looking for a Librarian to join the FAVA team for 10 weeks in the
6 K! w, x) b* y4 Wsummer of 2009. FAVA is a non-profit, charitable organization whose mandate is to
' \, h( D) \9 L1 L! dsupport the production and exhibition of film, video and media artists from Northern
1 l) p% c$ k" ^3 V% z3 `Alberta.

FAVA serves members with diverse backgrounds and levels of experience, ranging from
5 s& ~. _' v1 E* \7 T/ S& jemerging, mid-range to established artists with an unwavering passion for film, video
and media art. FAVA offers: a variety of workshops for artistic and skill development; is a
4 w& Z% V( t2 Y; d" _4 Z2 Iresource for production equipment and post-production facilities; hosts events and
5 H; x% y) ^1 s. B5 w* @6 j  Vscreenings; and fosters and develops a dynamic media arts community in Northern
Alberta.

( k) R) N& v1 BJob Description: The Librarian will report to the Executive Director and work with the
; O! Y/ N7 m1 I& v$ Q( BFAVA staff by organizing and updating two libraries: the film, video and digital library; as
well as the script, magazine and book library.

' e# y4 m' p$ A8 _- Sort and catalogue the film, video and digital library
- Sort and catalogue scripts, magazine and books
- Implement a catalogue template for future use
8 [  s! g/ q& I) [# Q- Update and develop loaning policy and procedure
8 @1 K2 x: O( W! b# {/ ~- Enforce FAVA’s standard of use policies where applicable

- Applicants must be unemployed and attending (or have recently completed) a post-
; m3 g, P7 h, ?$ w, K: Qsecondary training, university preferred
- Wage is $15.00 per hour, 35 hours per week
) q6 _2 M* r! L9 S# o! G- Length of position: 10 consecutive weeks

Qualifications: The ideal candidate will have:
- A passionate interest in film, video and media arts
$ h  T" f7 `0 S" N7 u- Strong organizational skills
- Experience or training in library sciences preferred
' m/ H! |5 q7 I1 r- Exceptional communication skills, written and verbal  
  s5 B* c( x( S' r( Z- Strong team player abilities
8 u* l9 g! @: g. \# f0 V& y- Interest in working for an arts organization that is governed by a Board of Directors

( B  K9 Q- X9 E7 QI have 3 years librarian expeirence in U of A, and believe I can fit in this postion perfectly.
