. p& D) }# _6 Q; j7 t. Z5 G5 R: {- @" lsummer of 2009. FAVA is a non-profit, charitable organization whose mandate is to
support the production and exhibition of film, video and media artists from Northern
& @: z) C9 D+ Y% h# tAlberta.

FAVA serves members with diverse backgrounds and levels of experience, ranging from
. i* |8 `" \/ u* y1 D' K: m4 M# Demerging, mid-range to established artists with an unwavering passion for film, video
and media art. FAVA offers: a variety of workshops for artistic and skill development; is a
resource for production equipment and post-production facilities; hosts events and
screenings; and fosters and develops a dynamic media arts community in Northern
Alberta.

Job Description: The Librarian will report to the Executive Director and work with the
' d$ j$ H7 J: GFAVA staff by organizing and updating two libraries: the film, video and digital library; as
4 C  b8 O* r6 N% N/ v. mwell as the script, magazine and book library.

Duties:
- Sort and catalogue the film, video and digital library
- Sort and catalogue scripts, magazine and books
2 c- M) d$ `( @' E5 C- Implement a catalogue template for future use
$ ^" \1 Q4 W6 m+ ?- p- Update and develop loaning policy and procedure
3 m. @1 e( O. M/ Y1 W" g: C& ^9 q' x: [- Enforce FAVA’s standard of use policies where applicable

- Funding for this position is provided by the Summer Temporary Employment Program
(STEP)
$ w: @8 v) ]1 x5 q5 h- Applicants must be unemployed and attending (or have recently completed) a post-
secondary training, university preferred
- Wage is $15.00 per hour, 35 hours per week
- Length of position: 10 consecutive weeks

7 C5 D  z( w  N/ O9 _- A passionate interest in film, video and media arts
- Strong organizational skills
  N) z4 D& U6 p- Experience or training in library sciences preferred
- Exceptional communication skills, written and verbal  
# D8 |9 [; d$ E* i- Strong team player abilities
- Interest in working for an arts organization that is governed by a Board of Directors
