FAVA is currently looking for a Librarian to join the FAVA team for 10 weeks in the # O; y$ S* C& s" g& [3 o) u- l, A9 Q
summer of 2009. FAVA is a non-profit, charitable organization whose mandate is to ( S# E( A; _; q5 g
support the production and exhibition of film, video and media artists from Northern
% [" ?4 J" \/ f& R) N& RAlberta.

% A8 x) z# P& ^- E" TFAVA serves members with diverse backgrounds and levels of experience, ranging from

and media art. FAVA offers: a variety of workshops for artistic and skill development; is a

Job Description: The Librarian will report to the Executive Director and work with the
/ l5 f7 `9 E. a% Y( z6 M% ?# H/ GFAVA staff by organizing and updating two libraries: the film, video and digital library; as

- Sort and catalogue the film, video and digital library ( q. j5 i$ f! `. N
- Sort and catalogue scripts, magazine and books
. d; z( A3 m5 ?7 V$ p& K- Implement a catalogue template for future use
9 o* l( Q7 l- q- N- Update and develop loaning policy and procedure ( S3 g& j J/ |% z; z! z
- Enforce FAVA’s standard of use policies where applicable

Qualifications: The ideal candidate will have: 4 m9 V i7 v/ N, E" }) m, d
- A passionate interest in film, video and media arts
( D' z; G9 e7 G4 O6 x* q! U- Strong organizational skills
; D- z9 v+ S% ?3 ~- Experience or training in library sciences preferred

- Interest in working for an arts organization that is governed by a Board of Directors
