/ m! o; {% t/ S+ Q% NFAVA is currently looking for a Librarian to join the FAVA team for 10 weeks in the
  P5 q2 d3 P% ~7 D1 P4 X* J5 N) Ksummer of 2009. FAVA is a non-profit, charitable organization whose mandate is to
/ t* E! o8 Y. k. M2 hsupport the production and exhibition of film, video and media artists from Northern
9 q+ i) @- `  E# ?4 SAlberta.

FAVA serves members with diverse backgrounds and levels of experience, ranging from
emerging, mid-range to established artists with an unwavering passion for film, video
9 O  q- s4 H7 X7 A7 {and media art. FAVA offers: a variety of workshops for artistic and skill development; is a
resource for production equipment and post-production facilities; hosts events and
& T7 `0 r7 j/ s1 k. L8 mscreenings; and fosters and develops a dynamic media arts community in Northern
Alberta.

6 ]  P$ h. J- e& V1 eJob Description: The Librarian will report to the Executive Director and work with the
FAVA staff by organizing and updating two libraries: the film, video and digital library; as
0 T( b/ n9 K" u, x6 b& e8 Gwell as the script, magazine and book library.

: y6 j# l5 r  E# f& O# O7 a4 xDuties:
1 y, E) G& E/ E' F/ f* A- Sort and catalogue the film, video and digital library
- Sort and catalogue scripts, magazine and books
- Implement a catalogue template for future use
- Update and develop loaning policy and procedure
- Enforce FAVA’s standard of use policies where applicable

- Wage is $15.00 per hour, 35 hours per week
- Length of position: 10 consecutive weeks

Qualifications: The ideal candidate will have:
- A passionate interest in film, video and media arts
/ P& v+ j- K) G1 \0 j- Strong organizational skills
- Experience or training in library sciences preferred
- Exceptional communication skills, written and verbal  
9 C# n8 C$ Q5 P1 a9 D+ G- Strong team player abilities
  ?' x! F) d, N6 K: R5 ]. j- Interest in working for an arts organization that is governed by a Board of Directors
