FAVA is currently looking for a Librarian to join the FAVA team for 10 weeks in the
5 T( t! ]% r; d# n2 D4 d: Zsummer of 2009. FAVA is a non-profit, charitable organization whose mandate is to
( O6 j' n A/ y! E, n" Gsupport the production and exhibition of film, video and media artists from Northern # _3 P- S' e3 B- d; W

FAVA serves members with diverse backgrounds and levels of experience, ranging from
" U% L- |: ^6 D! f7 K0 cemerging, mid-range to established artists with an unwavering passion for film, video % \$ k' Y1 g+ {/ d/ u
and media art. FAVA offers: a variety of workshops for artistic and skill development; is a
( \8 c' T4 o5 y; h1 Tresource for production equipment and post-production facilities; hosts events and
! @: `0 ^& {: K3 m2 }0 S( xscreenings; and fosters and develops a dynamic media arts community in Northern

Job Description: The Librarian will report to the Executive Director and work with the
2 y {1 n3 f; U! @0 l3 DFAVA staff by organizing and updating two libraries: the film, video and digital library; as
1 D3 {: o7 \6 P f7 n2 s% A- fwell as the script, magazine and book library.
! e; V1 F" U' p: ^ 8 D" h: t& B& c3 E% X) E2 P

- Sort and catalogue the film, video and digital library 2 b* f+ h0 ~* H/ q
- Sort and catalogue scripts, magazine and books
5 d: o6 w' w6 I- Implement a catalogue template for future use 4 [. U5 W% [5 R% i' t* t! p
- Update and develop loaning policy and procedure
5 T, ?/ d7 T; x3 B( G/ |- Enforce FAVA’s standard of use policies where applicable ' h: L/ |" z9 `. j% j& s- k

- Funding for this position is provided by the Summer Temporary Employment Program

- Applicants must be unemployed and attending (or have recently completed) a post-

- Wage is $15.00 per hour, 35 hours per week 7 w. r3 s9 ~9 Q Q6 u) k2 {9 U
- Length of position: 10 consecutive weeks ' e) A) O" W& o* T) P6 R/ t

Qualifications: The ideal candidate will have:

- Strong organizational skills
9 T1 [$ @; A6 ^: {; o- Experience or training in library sciences preferred

- Interest in working for an arts organization that is governed by a Board of Directors ' }8 D( h4 q3 u
