FAVA is currently looking for a Librarian to join the FAVA team for 10 weeks in the

support the production and exhibition of film, video and media artists from Northern
Alberta.

2 S7 ^5 n+ |& W/ O2 DFAVA serves members with diverse backgrounds and levels of experience, ranging from
emerging, mid-range to established artists with an unwavering passion for film, video
and media art. FAVA offers: a variety of workshops for artistic and skill development; is a
resource for production equipment and post-production facilities; hosts events and
# E/ J% u4 h% iscreenings; and fosters and develops a dynamic media arts community in Northern
; ?: S( x3 X; ?+ @# N, f8 `Alberta.

. J, t/ t1 U1 A4 W" rJob Description: The Librarian will report to the Executive Director and work with the
& M. ~7 m% B; HFAVA staff by organizing and updating two libraries: the film, video and digital library; as
' \- A5 b3 p6 k* O# f8 J  P5 Iwell as the script, magazine and book library.

% @5 Q% a7 a* jDuties:
- Sort and catalogue the film, video and digital library
! q% l4 X' f' B: ?- Sort and catalogue scripts, magazine and books
- Implement a catalogue template for future use
- Update and develop loaning policy and procedure
* ?5 h6 {0 h+ l/ p1 q- Enforce FAVA’s standard of use policies where applicable

Details:
- Funding for this position is provided by the Summer Temporary Employment Program
(STEP)
- Applicants must be unemployed and attending (or have recently completed) a post-
secondary training, university preferred
6 ^3 E+ c5 Q; o5 F' b: U- Wage is $15.00 per hour, 35 hours per week
- Length of position: 10 consecutive weeks

Qualifications: The ideal candidate will have:
- A passionate interest in film, video and media arts
& o; [9 |5 v5 m- Strong organizational skills
5 t5 Q) J  T0 \  [& T- Experience or training in library sciences preferred
; x9 B( ]; j" k' f; I) b0 f4 N! l; E" m+ y- Exceptional communication skills, written and verbal  
6 o/ x( k! K$ [4 A# r- Strong team player abilities
- Interest in working for an arts organization that is governed by a Board of Directors
