FAVA is currently looking for a Librarian to join the FAVA team for 10 weeks in the 8 W( o" p5 g$ c1 a6 B9 o9 L
summer of 2009. FAVA is a non-profit, charitable organization whose mandate is to 0 b' e% B% _" B% q- Z. g U
support the production and exhibition of film, video and media artists from Northern - c; ?7 b/ X6 o+ a# d: e% d

FAVA serves members with diverse backgrounds and levels of experience, ranging from
! G6 r% d q7 @emerging, mid-range to established artists with an unwavering passion for film, video % x" ^% f# `5 A: ]* y( \
and media art. FAVA offers: a variety of workshops for artistic and skill development; is a
+ s* Q: ^" f1 Z! Tresource for production equipment and post-production facilities; hosts events and 5 O9 ~3 c0 _- F ^! A
screenings; and fosters and develops a dynamic media arts community in Northern ; z3 E6 h% ^& D' d; q/ \: i! t3 P8 p

Job Description: The Librarian will report to the Executive Director and work with the * ~0 T- C. g3 U
FAVA staff by organizing and updating two libraries: the film, video and digital library; as

- Sort and catalogue the film, video and digital library & U& i. @2 P |1 z: }: J
- Sort and catalogue scripts, magazine and books

- Update and develop loaning policy and procedure 1 O9 V( F( D6 O: g2 ?
- Enforce FAVA’s standard of use policies where applicable 0 M5 D: S1 K2 K( S/ F# v

Qualifications: The ideal candidate will have:

- Strong organizational skills ( c9 R4 ]. J8 |+ k
- Experience or training in library sciences preferred o0 |& v9 P6 [+ O4 r/ ?
- Exceptional communication skills, written and verbal , W# k+ Y! g$ F% v# U1 o5 L( B
- Strong team player abilities
