FAVA is currently looking for a Librarian to join the FAVA team for 10 weeks in the / h! c3 F5 o. |+ V! Y
summer of 2009. FAVA is a non-profit, charitable organization whose mandate is to

Alberta.

FAVA serves members with diverse backgrounds and levels of experience, ranging from # n2 Z+ Z; d! Y- `
emerging, mid-range to established artists with an unwavering passion for film, video

screenings; and fosters and develops a dynamic media arts community in Northern I# @+ |2 K& r/ w

Job Description: The Librarian will report to the Executive Director and work with the , ?# i9 Z6 @0 }6 V) O. J
FAVA staff by organizing and updating two libraries: the film, video and digital library; as
' Q' r8 Z- l! I, B& Y# Xwell as the script, magazine and book library. 5 N( @! Y+ a7 H7 A) Y2 Y$ W( B' j
# l! q1 ~5 T( q" J3 E) ~Duties: + {; v7 f% A) y, T' K& {7 e
- Sort and catalogue the film, video and digital library
" n9 P. M9 f- E6 v. |- Sort and catalogue scripts, magazine and books 2 O' U& A* p- k# B& J( P/ q1 _
- Implement a catalogue template for future use
. k9 D. b) \: t: x5 R4 I$ l1 _ o: v- Update and develop loaning policy and procedure . P& q8 b$ c0 J9 `& `- J3 l
- Enforce FAVA’s standard of use policies where applicable , N5 ?% ?7 p& X) w" }7 N

- Wage is $15.00 per hour, 35 hours per week % s+ a+ r0 n1 H( L7 ~+ t4 @
- Length of position: 10 consecutive weeks % p" A+ ?: Z: W& B z

- A passionate interest in film, video and media arts 6 G* g$ U' V; j7 }2 T4 g
- Strong organizational skills - s7 R$ n6 U) Y; o7 ]
- Experience or training in library sciences preferred
- S0 W7 e9 S/ g; I+ n6 l- \% Q6 U- Exceptional communication skills, written and verbal 9 k8 a( V$ @1 T# L) u
- Strong team player abilities
