* l5 m. a* }) o' MFAVA is currently looking for a Librarian to join the FAVA team for 10 weeks in the
summer of 2009. FAVA is a non-profit, charitable organization whose mandate is to
support the production and exhibition of film, video and media artists from Northern
Alberta.

8 V. O! T! i) D" pFAVA serves members with diverse backgrounds and levels of experience, ranging from
emerging, mid-range to established artists with an unwavering passion for film, video
and media art. FAVA offers: a variety of workshops for artistic and skill development; is a
9 b% z) }0 {7 j) q# \- tresource for production equipment and post-production facilities; hosts events and
8 m6 l2 m1 N: cscreenings; and fosters and develops a dynamic media arts community in Northern
$ e. z% s. x* @6 P' d8 `$ l8 _4 XAlberta.

Job Description: The Librarian will report to the Executive Director and work with the
FAVA staff by organizing and updating two libraries: the film, video and digital library; as
: ~! K8 x7 G0 @. x' Rwell as the script, magazine and book library.

) E4 M/ i1 Y" l: s, B# ?- Sort and catalogue the film, video and digital library
- Sort and catalogue scripts, magazine and books
3 Q" H; [( N8 r9 j; q6 W' P% b- Implement a catalogue template for future use
- Update and develop loaning policy and procedure
- Enforce FAVA’s standard of use policies where applicable

secondary training, university preferred
1 Y: a) ?9 d7 ?( y$ V- Wage is $15.00 per hour, 35 hours per week
- Length of position: 10 consecutive weeks

Qualifications: The ideal candidate will have:
- ~: U$ O7 l+ b; Q5 K: G- A passionate interest in film, video and media arts
5 D+ ]  E$ @3 ~5 [4 z+ O; Z  R- Strong organizational skills
- Experience or training in library sciences preferred
' C! _. d; S. G. N) o2 v& H- Exceptional communication skills, written and verbal  
- Strong team player abilities
