* D; K7 j1 J8 h, i. wFAVA is currently looking for a Librarian to join the FAVA team for 10 weeks in the 0 K! b% ^* `: X9 ~+ \! U
summer of 2009. FAVA is a non-profit, charitable organization whose mandate is to
( ^9 M6 b; q' f' _support the production and exhibition of film, video and media artists from Northern
5 Y- W+ k& ]* x2 ]7 ]7 ?+ [" G2 VAlberta.

$ _% l5 N8 s. ?: |: T$ l" hFAVA serves members with diverse backgrounds and levels of experience, ranging from
7 `! B; Z$ A9 j& }! d( t4 c2 |# bemerging, mid-range to established artists with an unwavering passion for film, video 4 k: C8 L$ `0 Q" N- B) f6 C- c
and media art. FAVA offers: a variety of workshops for artistic and skill development; is a % ^( K: U9 D* U' i+ E+ H
resource for production equipment and post-production facilities; hosts events and
/ V# C' @/ s4 x8 R2 n% w1 ~2 Hscreenings; and fosters and develops a dynamic media arts community in Northern 6 i5 p/ x! y* C. |( q

6 y; k! x# L3 f- \9 `Job Description: The Librarian will report to the Executive Director and work with the
" n' t0 [4 J) p) S- ^FAVA staff by organizing and updating two libraries: the film, video and digital library; as # B3 z" X0 x8 \! {3 h% ~6 C4 @
well as the script, magazine and book library.

; Z! }( ]$ u4 o+ P- Sort and catalogue the film, video and digital library ; |: \' G! f/ n$ f+ V
- Sort and catalogue scripts, magazine and books 2 h! M4 g5 G9 J* M
- Implement a catalogue template for future use
7 {: j: C$ g! n0 y# m# [, O4 G- Update and develop loaning policy and procedure
- m* @4 A+ Z& E6 o$ \! o- Enforce FAVA’s standard of use policies where applicable

- A passionate interest in film, video and media arts 0 C& m5 u" X6 R! d! J
- Strong organizational skills
% Z0 ^! G7 |& e3 k5 D- Experience or training in library sciences preferred
" k: n) W F# E" W' Y- Exceptional communication skills, written and verbal ) G! k3 a$ R/ A% G8 X6 \
- Strong team player abilities
