FAVA is currently looking for a Librarian to join the FAVA team for 10 weeks in the " y9 }. n/ s% X& {, F6 y
summer of 2009. FAVA is a non-profit, charitable organization whose mandate is to 3 n8 A* W$ M$ V: S# C
support the production and exhibition of film, video and media artists from Northern

7 Y3 r5 f7 j$ Z. _ a" b, x& tFAVA serves members with diverse backgrounds and levels of experience, ranging from : ^+ e# b0 o% }$ m
emerging, mid-range to established artists with an unwavering passion for film, video
6 n- _2 C& N; Cand media art. FAVA offers: a variety of workshops for artistic and skill development; is a
7 ?- @* E+ w# F: @resource for production equipment and post-production facilities; hosts events and
8 Q& a) m7 V/ B! Y' {+ cscreenings; and fosters and develops a dynamic media arts community in Northern : R! }& E1 G4 `* Y

# g+ w4 A V/ ~* dJob Description: The Librarian will report to the Executive Director and work with the x4 X5 F/ Q( ~( i9 K5 s; a. a2 {
FAVA staff by organizing and updating two libraries: the film, video and digital library; as
* @4 j- M. [( s ^1 t5 @, H+ E9 xwell as the script, magazine and book library.

Duties:
- }: a9 i8 j' R5 Z$ a5 [3 ~- Sort and catalogue the film, video and digital library ( k4 K7 E- y$ P- X, @! |: V5 @- C& P
- Sort and catalogue scripts, magazine and books
5 X1 v7 U% E* P8 r9 Q- Implement a catalogue template for future use
+ d% u d' _4 b; P6 d4 M/ ^- Update and develop loaning policy and procedure % f8 t) q; U/ w7 t
- Enforce FAVA’s standard of use policies where applicable , ^* V+ K! g, }

- Applicants must be unemployed and attending (or have recently completed) a post-" q* u n* R7 N0 l
secondary training, university preferred
( l5 G2 A1 l2 n! s- Wage is $15.00 per hour, 35 hours per week " G$ \3 o8 t7 P. [) b1 M
- Length of position: 10 consecutive weeks

Qualifications: The ideal candidate will have:
" m0 S0 I4 c6 E3 V3 V- A passionate interest in film, video and media arts , h$ @* Z+ W6 ~
- Strong organizational skills 2 K( G: Q' u/ k+ J5 ~
- Experience or training in library sciences preferred

- Interest in working for an arts organization that is governed by a Board of Directors
