FAVA is currently looking for a Librarian to join the FAVA team for 10 weeks in the
summer of 2009. FAVA is a non-profit, charitable organization whose mandate is to
support the production and exhibition of film, video and media artists from Northern
Alberta.

5 _8 h0 g0 z/ E1 eFAVA serves members with diverse backgrounds and levels of experience, ranging from
emerging, mid-range to established artists with an unwavering passion for film, video
and media art. FAVA offers: a variety of workshops for artistic and skill development; is a
resource for production equipment and post-production facilities; hosts events and
$ _# q9 h. y" ]  H3 ~. Lscreenings; and fosters and develops a dynamic media arts community in Northern
2 h( S2 _2 H$ G8 w" M+ i$ ^Alberta.

$ V1 X7 `1 l* f, ~2 @" o0 F/ |" [Job Description: The Librarian will report to the Executive Director and work with the
FAVA staff by organizing and updating two libraries: the film, video and digital library; as
well as the script, magazine and book library.

5 w7 w! G+ w8 ^' U' |- Sort and catalogue the film, video and digital library
2 R& `; P* j1 A% m6 k- g! j6 ~- Sort and catalogue scripts, magazine and books
" y- B+ u' D. q1 v- Implement a catalogue template for future use
" Z. w9 U3 [" ~/ t* ], r- Update and develop loaning policy and procedure
: J( q& f7 [8 o2 \! ?1 D1 [- Enforce FAVA’s standard of use policies where applicable

& g7 O. a4 z/ W- Wage is $15.00 per hour, 35 hours per week
- Length of position: 10 consecutive weeks

) t: m: R  M5 a: |  D8 h: ]- A passionate interest in film, video and media arts
- Strong organizational skills
2 n  D2 k% z6 a- Experience or training in library sciences preferred
6 E* f# X0 G! v$ Y8 @8 S- Exceptional communication skills, written and verbal  
/ _6 B8 y0 M- M# w- Strong team player abilities
