FAVA is currently looking for a Librarian to join the FAVA team for 10 weeks in the
summer of 2009. FAVA is a non-profit, charitable organization whose mandate is to
) a9 m% ]9 R# `0 V  T( N9 _support the production and exhibition of film, video and media artists from Northern
; n% N  j* C) T- ?9 g: zAlberta.

  w& N: l7 n% pFAVA serves members with diverse backgrounds and levels of experience, ranging from
emerging, mid-range to established artists with an unwavering passion for film, video
and media art. FAVA offers: a variety of workshops for artistic and skill development; is a
: P4 [# i5 `: P9 G9 c1 U- mresource for production equipment and post-production facilities; hosts events and
& v1 X1 h7 Z- n5 z  k1 Kscreenings; and fosters and develops a dynamic media arts community in Northern
Alberta.

- U  O0 `4 i6 S  c  q9 wJob Description: The Librarian will report to the Executive Director and work with the
FAVA staff by organizing and updating two libraries: the film, video and digital library; as
well as the script, magazine and book library.

, q* u/ \; U/ t& @9 p- Sort and catalogue the film, video and digital library
7 E, a' \7 j" N8 f0 d1 f- Sort and catalogue scripts, magazine and books
) J5 J0 {# X! v- Implement a catalogue template for future use
* ]0 Y% W6 B5 H- Update and develop loaning policy and procedure
- Enforce FAVA’s standard of use policies where applicable

(STEP)
- Applicants must be unemployed and attending (or have recently completed) a post-

$ S3 S6 v3 f3 a. ?- Wage is $15.00 per hour, 35 hours per week

8 Z4 G; g2 `6 |7 nQualifications: The ideal candidate will have:
( x# T2 r% O' q( K) B$ C. ^: ?- A passionate interest in film, video and media arts
& w1 i  D" Q8 X- Strong organizational skills
- Experience or training in library sciences preferred
- Exceptional communication skills, written and verbal  
- Strong team player abilities
- Interest in working for an arts organization that is governed by a Board of Directors
