' w. \7 ?4 q- q9 C5 x% i9 yFAVA is currently looking for a Librarian to join the FAVA team for 10 weeks in the
summer of 2009. FAVA is a non-profit, charitable organization whose mandate is to
support the production and exhibition of film, video and media artists from Northern
0 Z& q) u3 b9 n) t' |- F; nAlberta.

FAVA serves members with diverse backgrounds and levels of experience, ranging from
emerging, mid-range to established artists with an unwavering passion for film, video
5 S/ B- d  O/ {! b! fand media art. FAVA offers: a variety of workshops for artistic and skill development; is a
resource for production equipment and post-production facilities; hosts events and
screenings; and fosters and develops a dynamic media arts community in Northern
/ X* e" _  S  R. u& D+ `Alberta.

$ E  L* ]/ U; R7 wJob Description: The Librarian will report to the Executive Director and work with the
8 a3 S3 s  O; m- v( K  @FAVA staff by organizing and updating two libraries: the film, video and digital library; as
% q  x. R- X$ C, ^well as the script, magazine and book library.

- Sort and catalogue the film, video and digital library
! ~4 G# T; Q0 G7 J- Sort and catalogue scripts, magazine and books
2 x. Y$ v! N5 c6 p- Implement a catalogue template for future use
- Update and develop loaning policy and procedure
- Enforce FAVA’s standard of use policies where applicable

Details:
- Funding for this position is provided by the Summer Temporary Employment Program

- Applicants must be unemployed and attending (or have recently completed) a post-
secondary training, university preferred
- Wage is $15.00 per hour, 35 hours per week
- Length of position: 10 consecutive weeks

Qualifications: The ideal candidate will have:
+ m% ~" Y( H" D4 C2 G- A passionate interest in film, video and media arts
* U+ K" D" c: p' g- S- Strong organizational skills
0 y8 p5 A1 ?5 v- Experience or training in library sciences preferred
- Exceptional communication skills, written and verbal  
4 N/ a  x- M5 ?  _! h+ G+ e9 n2 u& S- Strong team player abilities
