summer of 2009. FAVA is a non-profit, charitable organization whose mandate is to

FAVA serves members with diverse backgrounds and levels of experience, ranging from
( g' J" a7 b: }2 O4 I# cemerging, mid-range to established artists with an unwavering passion for film, video 6 y, }/ w+ a& ? r, u- Q* e- U8 B) |- r u
and media art. FAVA offers: a variety of workshops for artistic and skill development; is a
# b1 L# o2 Z; p Dresource for production equipment and post-production facilities; hosts events and
& [; U+ w# k$ g: \screenings; and fosters and develops a dynamic media arts community in Northern

Job Description: The Librarian will report to the Executive Director and work with the # S# s% w% E' z7 _
FAVA staff by organizing and updating two libraries: the film, video and digital library; as 0 B2 u3 f5 ]% U" P& O# ~
well as the script, magazine and book library. / V" a+ ]7 W: l2 W2 Z
( ]" M4 g& k+ w+ A) r% p7 NDuties: % @% I9 Q" _+ d1 E" H
- Sort and catalogue the film, video and digital library
# T3 H& G: t9 o) S- Sort and catalogue scripts, magazine and books
5 \; e' K0 J) a9 _- Implement a catalogue template for future use 3 Y* q2 U# t8 @' U0 n; L; h7 {" P" S
- Update and develop loaning policy and procedure
# v; O R! y. x: l9 D- Enforce FAVA’s standard of use policies where applicable

- Wage is $15.00 per hour, 35 hours per week

Qualifications: The ideal candidate will have:
0 i& G) C2 _' c/ Y& ~- A passionate interest in film, video and media arts
y Y/ O5 l& `/ H' O4 B5 w# R- Strong organizational skills / s: A1 b! y! U8 {, o" Y- L! w! Y
- Experience or training in library sciences preferred 8 S: b" P! c" s' X7 G
- Exceptional communication skills, written and verbal
" [8 s3 l: a& k! L; F- Strong team player abilities
3 Z$ Z" R9 h* R# r- Interest in working for an arts organization that is governed by a Board of Directors
