summer of 2009. FAVA is a non-profit, charitable organization whose mandate is to
9 {* r7 y* Q1 G5 l: k" f1 Xsupport the production and exhibition of film, video and media artists from Northern
4 q3 Q# p0 m8 S/ BAlberta.

FAVA serves members with diverse backgrounds and levels of experience, ranging from
emerging, mid-range to established artists with an unwavering passion for film, video
and media art. FAVA offers: a variety of workshops for artistic and skill development; is a
5 s$ n0 N0 I2 t5 bresource for production equipment and post-production facilities; hosts events and
5 a3 U# o* v$ ~& ^2 {4 H- fscreenings; and fosters and develops a dynamic media arts community in Northern
! F% Y# n' G8 ]/ ]0 l/ k9 aAlberta.

$ Z6 `9 C" B5 ~" O- H. bJob Description: The Librarian will report to the Executive Director and work with the
FAVA staff by organizing and updating two libraries: the film, video and digital library; as
& q1 ?7 g0 M& F% k6 C1 F: Wwell as the script, magazine and book library.

Duties:
- Sort and catalogue the film, video and digital library
- Sort and catalogue scripts, magazine and books
- Implement a catalogue template for future use
! t) o1 @' ~- N- Update and develop loaning policy and procedure
- Enforce FAVA’s standard of use policies where applicable

(STEP)
- Applicants must be unemployed and attending (or have recently completed) a post-
secondary training, university preferred
  i! f# E. _9 Q- Wage is $15.00 per hour, 35 hours per week
- Length of position: 10 consecutive weeks

. X3 ^3 I0 S2 c0 ^Qualifications: The ideal candidate will have:
2 f: S$ T' F, u! S: W- J- A passionate interest in film, video and media arts
- Strong organizational skills
% z1 L. T# h, E( e+ O8 Q- Experience or training in library sciences preferred
- Exceptional communication skills, written and verbal  
- Strong team player abilities
1 g7 C3 w" Y. `% Y2 u: S- Interest in working for an arts organization that is governed by a Board of Directors
