FAVA is currently looking for a Librarian to join the FAVA team for 10 weeks in the ; I2 k6 W% a# l. h. m
summer of 2009. FAVA is a non-profit, charitable organization whose mandate is to 5 W' }4 z% w& d
support the production and exhibition of film, video and media artists from Northern * g1 _( N% I u

FAVA serves members with diverse backgrounds and levels of experience, ranging from

resource for production equipment and post-production facilities; hosts events and + u% q# i6 \& H- B
screenings; and fosters and develops a dynamic media arts community in Northern ! W h }5 D: v) |0 Y% K1 j

+ ~* j i' _4 `$ V6 |Job Description: The Librarian will report to the Executive Director and work with the
) k1 Y" v4 t* Z* z3 W$ pFAVA staff by organizing and updating two libraries: the film, video and digital library; as / c$ t% a, p0 d- u' R
well as the script, magazine and book library.

- Sort and catalogue the film, video and digital library & \& k7 @- f& Q& f
- Sort and catalogue scripts, magazine and books 6 O# a, ~4 B# u) o6 Z6 X5 a: {( R
- Implement a catalogue template for future use
% p+ U6 f, u6 p, M; ]! k8 Q6 d- Update and develop loaning policy and procedure ( Z) i: q( p6 r$ Z! j( v2 U: B- o- D
- Enforce FAVA’s standard of use policies where applicable 6 c$ ?! f/ C8 i+ e* u0 {" D; ^* ?3 c

- Applicants must be unemployed and attending (or have recently completed) a post-6 {5 e7 X1 o6 j
secondary training, university preferred

Qualifications: The ideal candidate will have:

7 a8 X% F7 _4 D% X' L' J* H3 ?% U- Strong organizational skills
" S; u1 D8 C. a: S# @! C% {7 I+ B- Experience or training in library sciences preferred

- Interest in working for an arts organization that is governed by a Board of Directors - j4 P+ _# a7 M# r) ~1 T% t; \
