FAVA is currently looking for a Librarian to join the FAVA team for 10 weeks in the ! b& ^9 ^) z$ L
summer of 2009. FAVA is a non-profit, charitable organization whose mandate is to + W# I/ V$ ^ J4 J; R) ~4 P1 T' Q! U
support the production and exhibition of film, video and media artists from Northern 8 V! @4 J8 b) u: W6 {/ o& P. d3 ]1 E0 _

screenings; and fosters and develops a dynamic media arts community in Northern

Job Description: The Librarian will report to the Executive Director and work with the 1 [9 d z" [4 H$ |, V) M
FAVA staff by organizing and updating two libraries: the film, video and digital library; as
% A* H$ a; j7 `. T8 Swell as the script, magazine and book library.

Duties: 9 Z' a! X+ H8 O& K; q+ F1 N1 x
- Sort and catalogue the film, video and digital library
& d% f4 p/ `8 [3 a' _% b8 q" b- Sort and catalogue scripts, magazine and books * \6 {7 P' q! Q
- Implement a catalogue template for future use / j8 b) W. ]1 c3 h6 R: f, _6 h: y' m
- Update and develop loaning policy and procedure ( p1 M8 d! T+ ~' |* d% x
- Enforce FAVA’s standard of use policies where applicable ) V2 G' o/ [, g4 A

- Wage is $15.00 per hour, 35 hours per week % [1 p- r/ z( [8 O f Z
- Length of position: 10 consecutive weeks ; X) F, O9 g9 z* l3 H" J, y

Qualifications: The ideal candidate will have: * ^4 w2 F7 n- x4 L
- A passionate interest in film, video and media arts
# N6 c& u, y. p! d6 Y- Strong organizational skills ; ?. U1 ?+ m* x5 Q4 g
- Experience or training in library sciences preferred " I1 r/ P( {/ c$ Q+ t
- Exceptional communication skills, written and verbal ; ]4 ~2 O! L, a+ A# M( H" _ o$ l) h
- Strong team player abilities , q- b' g8 D3 k. u* _$ `
- Interest in working for an arts organization that is governed by a Board of Directors
