FAVA is currently looking for a Librarian to join the FAVA team for 10 weeks in the 1 p. e$ |: I1 N/ N$ `5 [# X
summer of 2009. FAVA is a non-profit, charitable organization whose mandate is to
: I9 }, G7 Z( N! a/ x* Y" ^5 e8 P& rsupport the production and exhibition of film, video and media artists from Northern
2 B; e6 h1 \7 VAlberta.

FAVA serves members with diverse backgrounds and levels of experience, ranging from ( Y7 l* J( E; B+ N. P8 \
emerging, mid-range to established artists with an unwavering passion for film, video 5 B4 k* }. X+ t8 F& n3 y
and media art. FAVA offers: a variety of workshops for artistic and skill development; is a
9 v6 N! @: U. P' W4 U" J! J* Lresource for production equipment and post-production facilities; hosts events and
5 @2 V7 U. J# J; Qscreenings; and fosters and develops a dynamic media arts community in Northern , V0 [. p% o; l- X) l$ T" D! c
Alberta.

Job Description: The Librarian will report to the Executive Director and work with the
) ~: l1 v7 {- y9 v+ WFAVA staff by organizing and updating two libraries: the film, video and digital library; as
5 F M' i5 \; O. d/ ?8 ewell as the script, magazine and book library. * f- L e1 Y! k, D7 ~! H3 B0 z; [

Duties: 7 X: [. \, t8 C, U
- Sort and catalogue the film, video and digital library
/ M, A. ^/ ~) A3 W: J- Sort and catalogue scripts, magazine and books
4 {8 u* E2 b9 w Y3 J9 b) `- l- Implement a catalogue template for future use ) _/ |; s& G) c6 }8 ~
- Update and develop loaning policy and procedure 8 Y; g, K' Y5 [( ^% c
- Enforce FAVA’s standard of use policies where applicable

- Wage is $15.00 per hour, 35 hours per week

- Experience or training in library sciences preferred
