; W0 [) P! B/ X0 d WFAVA is currently looking for a Librarian to join the FAVA team for 10 weeks in the S( W P! q. i, b3 T% w( X
summer of 2009. FAVA is a non-profit, charitable organization whose mandate is to " u% v( m% U/ f7 D+ H6 ]
support the production and exhibition of film, video and media artists from Northern : w- t4 @( B. j% b& q$ z9 q7 T$ f

FAVA serves members with diverse backgrounds and levels of experience, ranging from
% Z+ H: n: O; g" ^emerging, mid-range to established artists with an unwavering passion for film, video ( ~* z0 z* `. ~$ i4 j% c
and media art. FAVA offers: a variety of workshops for artistic and skill development; is a
' S3 ^' T1 r2 ?. Aresource for production equipment and post-production facilities; hosts events and * A; c) V# C( L- I l5 u
screenings; and fosters and develops a dynamic media arts community in Northern 0 M; y+ _" Z9 J' X

* |" B1 @- u6 z" KJob Description: The Librarian will report to the Executive Director and work with the ; D$ T+ T- w# D8 ]0 U2 ~
FAVA staff by organizing and updating two libraries: the film, video and digital library; as 7 t7 K8 g; m+ e# t
well as the script, magazine and book library.

Duties:
4 F N$ q; w9 `. D" n9 x- Sort and catalogue the film, video and digital library
7 s* V- e- c5 [5 ]- e6 B0 y- Sort and catalogue scripts, magazine and books
' x7 W. l/ g. F: [- Implement a catalogue template for future use
( l: v; z* C6 f0 t$ z- Update and develop loaning policy and procedure ( t4 h. d& t* h2 h1 e6 z" }0 T; v7 E
- Enforce FAVA’s standard of use policies where applicable 7 G" V" j3 T" ]* B# J! F" W

secondary training, university preferred
5 i3 C7 k7 \1 S& J- Wage is $15.00 per hour, 35 hours per week

Q% o( @: A" y0 x# f1 T2 w, ^, OQualifications: The ideal candidate will have:
9 h) V# H W1 I' T! p" X8 ?- A passionate interest in film, video and media arts ) v7 C! a! B: W, j ` i8 D3 R
- Strong organizational skills
% F+ ^4 P) o( T- Experience or training in library sciences preferred
' g- i/ Z9 D$ |1 I* o- Exceptional communication skills, written and verbal

- Interest in working for an arts organization that is governed by a Board of Directors
