+ ^, x  h0 L& j( b7 |9 z/ O, QFAVA is currently looking for a Librarian to join the FAVA team for 10 weeks in the
summer of 2009. FAVA is a non-profit, charitable organization whose mandate is to
% K: |* r# F- R: [: esupport the production and exhibition of film, video and media artists from Northern
Alberta.

FAVA serves members with diverse backgrounds and levels of experience, ranging from
emerging, mid-range to established artists with an unwavering passion for film, video
and media art. FAVA offers: a variety of workshops for artistic and skill development; is a
" f! z% v; C7 nresource for production equipment and post-production facilities; hosts events and
screenings; and fosters and develops a dynamic media arts community in Northern
Alberta.

# V& W8 i- Q3 a/ n; @# d3 K! o8 D  tJob Description: The Librarian will report to the Executive Director and work with the
FAVA staff by organizing and updating two libraries: the film, video and digital library; as
3 O* `* U7 r0 X: \# iwell as the script, magazine and book library.

Duties:
- Sort and catalogue the film, video and digital library
. i9 k; q- T) W( V$ P: p2 e& e( t- m- Sort and catalogue scripts, magazine and books
! t8 l* f2 i" H1 U5 R- Implement a catalogue template for future use
- Update and develop loaning policy and procedure
7 g8 a% a% z4 `6 n. q- Enforce FAVA’s standard of use policies where applicable

- Funding for this position is provided by the Summer Temporary Employment Program
(STEP)
% f) F4 q2 \) }6 E# w- Applicants must be unemployed and attending (or have recently completed) a post-
secondary training, university preferred
8 F( A4 L# Q+ L& t+ ^. K- Wage is $15.00 per hour, 35 hours per week
- Length of position: 10 consecutive weeks

Qualifications: The ideal candidate will have:
" A# W' p5 ^3 {  b; g0 k- A passionate interest in film, video and media arts
  B; P2 e! X- p( j+ z3 r2 J- Strong organizational skills
- Experience or training in library sciences preferred
: A( ]3 B2 [5 z' U' k3 y6 x; B- Exceptional communication skills, written and verbal  
- Strong team player abilities
% j( D$ w. C2 M+ C- Interest in working for an arts organization that is governed by a Board of Directors
