FAVA is currently looking for a Librarian to join the FAVA team for 10 weeks in the
summer of 2009. FAVA is a non-profit, charitable organization whose mandate is to
& Z7 e: v4 A. Zsupport the production and exhibition of film, video and media artists from Northern
1 X/ F2 n9 \: J# g1 V& uAlberta.

+ L- I1 d6 J& }( Y  ?1 [( `FAVA serves members with diverse backgrounds and levels of experience, ranging from
. U% h* G' K, S1 v4 k4 iemerging, mid-range to established artists with an unwavering passion for film, video
and media art. FAVA offers: a variety of workshops for artistic and skill development; is a
resource for production equipment and post-production facilities; hosts events and
screenings; and fosters and develops a dynamic media arts community in Northern
* m7 @7 |, m: h2 w1 F# K, pAlberta.

Job Description: The Librarian will report to the Executive Director and work with the
; X4 ^' p* d8 i* \6 ]1 _% ]  PFAVA staff by organizing and updating two libraries: the film, video and digital library; as
well as the script, magazine and book library.

$ D" N" Q7 P6 \+ bDuties:
- Sort and catalogue the film, video and digital library
+ r$ `, r, }( s) R: O- Sort and catalogue scripts, magazine and books
- Implement a catalogue template for future use
- Update and develop loaning policy and procedure
- Enforce FAVA’s standard of use policies where applicable

- Applicants must be unemployed and attending (or have recently completed) a post-
& s% I6 D% B0 P; _" }secondary training, university preferred
2 N8 Q! s/ w$ C5 N- Wage is $15.00 per hour, 35 hours per week
- f7 Z' L# G# E- Length of position: 10 consecutive weeks

* B5 J3 {/ E' z3 @: w( R( I- A passionate interest in film, video and media arts
- Strong organizational skills
- Experience or training in library sciences preferred
# v1 R. d. `0 U& N! v% ^: M- Exceptional communication skills, written and verbal  
# D- [( D+ q% R4 m" i& i- Strong team player abilities
