summer of 2009. FAVA is a non-profit, charitable organization whose mandate is to
9 D) [9 T8 l& F% j& Z* G zsupport the production and exhibition of film, video and media artists from Northern

FAVA serves members with diverse backgrounds and levels of experience, ranging from # K" R+ Q: f. h G+ b
emerging, mid-range to established artists with an unwavering passion for film, video : |8 T* q& s: {6 t
and media art. FAVA offers: a variety of workshops for artistic and skill development; is a
$ u$ S5 s) H5 y# S! L; }resource for production equipment and post-production facilities; hosts events and 3 {- U; I, C4 }" r/ ]
screenings; and fosters and develops a dynamic media arts community in Northern 7 J( @' }; L& V- d

Job Description: The Librarian will report to the Executive Director and work with the * @' \) ^, u/ k, q+ a/ Q
FAVA staff by organizing and updating two libraries: the film, video and digital library; as
- V- f4 X' B! uwell as the script, magazine and book library.

- Sort and catalogue the film, video and digital library ' M) H) s8 n6 G0 a* x
- Sort and catalogue scripts, magazine and books $ U& {+ Z3 [' w, O
- Implement a catalogue template for future use 3 T. I" D) P ~
- Update and develop loaning policy and procedure / h% t6 N5 K' j4 r% U2 H
- Enforce FAVA’s standard of use policies where applicable 9 g+ S v) P6 _

- Applicants must be unemployed and attending (or have recently completed) a post-

- Wage is $15.00 per hour, 35 hours per week

Qualifications: The ideal candidate will have:

- Strong organizational skills 3 h" g/ O8 D g5 c0 b; R
- Experience or training in library sciences preferred " d& c" @; d1 B7 X$ b1 Y
- Exceptional communication skills, written and verbal . v8 k( |3 T. l: o# S' U6 V
- Strong team player abilities / d/ F; n. t; z6 Y/ M
- Interest in working for an arts organization that is governed by a Board of Directors ^ `# E1 g) c' P. o
