FAVA is currently looking for a Librarian to join the FAVA team for 10 weeks in the $ ^; Z6 g0 V) u6 X9 g' ~" }
summer of 2009. FAVA is a non-profit, charitable organization whose mandate is to
6 V5 R! ]" p( [: W! W! ^, g( Usupport the production and exhibition of film, video and media artists from Northern / N/ w8 j! I F2 T+ d% E3 U& z
Alberta. 6 N3 W9 g0 F% {) t$ S
7 t1 {$ h; f" x, S- ]" E/ kFAVA serves members with diverse backgrounds and levels of experience, ranging from 7 F; I3 [' t7 p
emerging, mid-range to established artists with an unwavering passion for film, video . s) V( C" {+ E" _/ d
and media art. FAVA offers: a variety of workshops for artistic and skill development; is a
8 t! M8 \ y! b1 |( m+ vresource for production equipment and post-production facilities; hosts events and ) K$ b2 ?5 G) z' B* \2 `! d
screenings; and fosters and develops a dynamic media arts community in Northern

Job Description: The Librarian will report to the Executive Director and work with the
& c! H9 l3 P- ^& H, a, NFAVA staff by organizing and updating two libraries: the film, video and digital library; as
- t7 x6 _0 x3 j4 z4 ]well as the script, magazine and book library.

- Sort and catalogue the film, video and digital library
- ?$ f8 T, k! C* \$ r7 B. a- Sort and catalogue scripts, magazine and books 9 m9 w* u6 p& K) q. [7 G) J3 U
- Implement a catalogue template for future use
4 D# U! l c" H* Q" z+ E3 N- Update and develop loaning policy and procedure
/ D7 _! c7 j% K# C* i; N9 g6 @2 F- Enforce FAVA’s standard of use policies where applicable 0 [9 |, g' e8 t# o' V% `

- Length of position: 10 consecutive weeks

Qualifications: The ideal candidate will have: X* p k! E$ v* _: k8 ?
- A passionate interest in film, video and media arts

! h8 T: ]7 D4 d3 {/ i3 H" Q- Experience or training in library sciences preferred
