FAVA is currently looking for a Librarian to join the FAVA team for 10 weeks in the
/ b$ I5 z! `5 wsummer of 2009. FAVA is a non-profit, charitable organization whose mandate is to * O# J4 d* q. ~4 {
support the production and exhibition of film, video and media artists from Northern " j5 z5 O Y2 N1 W7 k5 a

- S5 R* F( M$ n/ LFAVA serves members with diverse backgrounds and levels of experience, ranging from + L' h" H8 d* u6 k7 {, u( w, y
emerging, mid-range to established artists with an unwavering passion for film, video 3 A6 o& O$ S( }: r
and media art. FAVA offers: a variety of workshops for artistic and skill development; is a
' m0 V7 e. d8 g5 ~4 [! ^6 Jresource for production equipment and post-production facilities; hosts events and
! r0 B Q1 N; e* {1 R3 B. ascreenings; and fosters and develops a dynamic media arts community in Northern 3 q" ]& K8 z) i9 J$ L; P

) S! g/ W" J' Y: ZJob Description: The Librarian will report to the Executive Director and work with the
8 W1 y! O5 j( \FAVA staff by organizing and updating two libraries: the film, video and digital library; as , ]9 A* m8 M3 A
well as the script, magazine and book library.

- Sort and catalogue scripts, magazine and books

- Update and develop loaning policy and procedure 1 D7 P8 ]" R1 V) y: J7 k0 N$ K8 z
- Enforce FAVA’s standard of use policies where applicable

- Applicants must be unemployed and attending (or have recently completed) a post-5 f2 g- G; T2 r
secondary training, university preferred # C' p. O1 m$ d v/ ]
- Wage is $15.00 per hour, 35 hours per week 9 Q/ A% f5 s. g
- Length of position: 10 consecutive weeks

Qualifications: The ideal candidate will have:
! o, L- b3 r0 x* k7 \- A passionate interest in film, video and media arts $ X% U+ N, P9 A* D" x
- Strong organizational skills
6 ]+ |& j8 A$ @! E! r' B% y9 H- Experience or training in library sciences preferred
1 K3 G E' t0 f! K) N- Exceptional communication skills, written and verbal
