) e) A! J- O* ksummer of 2009. FAVA is a non-profit, charitable organization whose mandate is to
/ ^2 {  H* e4 n: r+ E3 k& h* b+ psupport the production and exhibition of film, video and media artists from Northern
Alberta.

FAVA serves members with diverse backgrounds and levels of experience, ranging from
- `5 F! N$ _: q1 ?: y3 w8 o' V) o. ~emerging, mid-range to established artists with an unwavering passion for film, video
and media art. FAVA offers: a variety of workshops for artistic and skill development; is a
resource for production equipment and post-production facilities; hosts events and
& o: ~: w- i# V6 M: b# Cscreenings; and fosters and develops a dynamic media arts community in Northern

# I" |) I$ M6 H6 {- h0 ~Job Description: The Librarian will report to the Executive Director and work with the
1 H* J$ p- N4 d; b5 D7 {/ gFAVA staff by organizing and updating two libraries: the film, video and digital library; as
* J% a+ g7 ?/ E; J7 J' e% i# Vwell as the script, magazine and book library.

Duties:
+ T2 ^( m: {8 N7 G- D7 v- Sort and catalogue the film, video and digital library
, b* O$ w7 _9 {, }5 s! \- Sort and catalogue scripts, magazine and books
1 X0 e; n+ ]; {# [" R+ ]/ d; G' Q- Implement a catalogue template for future use
6 P) M) y- D5 a( N  Y# ~- Update and develop loaning policy and procedure
- Enforce FAVA’s standard of use policies where applicable
# G" }8 G9 d! X) J% Z

- Funding for this position is provided by the Summer Temporary Employment Program
& I' @: w3 v% \, j8 t/ @(STEP)
! U  P$ b' `0 i* Z0 ^' g4 C- Applicants must be unemployed and attending (or have recently completed) a post-
! J& q% n4 r/ B: @secondary training, university preferred
* x5 k8 J5 }! m5 }1 K0 @, D# C" g3 d3 t2 y- Wage is $15.00 per hour, 35 hours per week

Qualifications: The ideal candidate will have:
- F( ?$ A8 Q. T" i- A passionate interest in film, video and media arts
- Strong organizational skills
- Experience or training in library sciences preferred
- Exceptional communication skills, written and verbal  
- Strong team player abilities
- Interest in working for an arts organization that is governed by a Board of Directors

I have 3 years librarian expeirence in U of A, and believe I can fit in this postion perfectly.
