FAVA is currently looking for a Librarian to join the FAVA team for 10 weeks in the & [+ v8 J! d* c* X2 P
summer of 2009. FAVA is a non-profit, charitable organization whose mandate is to ' [ Y7 L3 u% l+ s0 I6 \+ T
support the production and exhibition of film, video and media artists from Northern
! `% ?( N7 S: WAlberta. - E, Q; L( |! a# u
. o0 N k3 u6 xFAVA serves members with diverse backgrounds and levels of experience, ranging from
# `* T: g' M8 `! V; \emerging, mid-range to established artists with an unwavering passion for film, video $ }+ t2 N* k9 B! ^. \
and media art. FAVA offers: a variety of workshops for artistic and skill development; is a # o( n6 L# j+ j( F
resource for production equipment and post-production facilities; hosts events and
% }- W* k9 Z0 Yscreenings; and fosters and develops a dynamic media arts community in Northern 5 m0 W6 H9 l) H. s

' ^- @/ e! s3 |Job Description: The Librarian will report to the Executive Director and work with the
# Q4 i' }2 t" M9 O% o& WFAVA staff by organizing and updating two libraries: the film, video and digital library; as
; C* K9 h, ` h2 X* k1 T1 _+ mwell as the script, magazine and book library. ! m& N5 C' P4 V2 A8 S

- Sort and catalogue the film, video and digital library % k: |; _: n8 `# j/ V, ]
- Sort and catalogue scripts, magazine and books
" ~+ d ^7 _" h- Implement a catalogue template for future use ; b: M' L0 f) T3 s$ ]6 b
- Update and develop loaning policy and procedure / W) i* F, ~' h; V, ]5 J
- Enforce FAVA’s standard of use policies where applicable

- Wage is $15.00 per hour, 35 hours per week

Qualifications: The ideal candidate will have:

- Strong organizational skills
