! o5 J% W3 x1 A3 jFAVA is currently looking for a Librarian to join the FAVA team for 10 weeks in the
summer of 2009. FAVA is a non-profit, charitable organization whose mandate is to
; m# I" f4 E" e7 Qsupport the production and exhibition of film, video and media artists from Northern
Alberta.

5 O" w1 Z5 `/ R- t9 JFAVA serves members with diverse backgrounds and levels of experience, ranging from
& R9 _* V' x; H, zemerging, mid-range to established artists with an unwavering passion for film, video
and media art. FAVA offers: a variety of workshops for artistic and skill development; is a
% o) p) s4 M5 V% F: @resource for production equipment and post-production facilities; hosts events and
screenings; and fosters and develops a dynamic media arts community in Northern

8 Z) h; L. s0 ~1 M8 i, f6 k  wFAVA staff by organizing and updating two libraries: the film, video and digital library; as
3 x+ u3 k2 ^7 s# xwell as the script, magazine and book library.

- Sort and catalogue the film, video and digital library
- Sort and catalogue scripts, magazine and books
; v' k$ [/ |) R) m0 F- Implement a catalogue template for future use

- Enforce FAVA’s standard of use policies where applicable

- Funding for this position is provided by the Summer Temporary Employment Program
(STEP)
- Applicants must be unemployed and attending (or have recently completed) a post-
secondary training, university preferred
- Wage is $15.00 per hour, 35 hours per week

/ ~) @3 S. a$ s# a3 ~! h0 k: x$ R- A passionate interest in film, video and media arts
- Strong organizational skills
- Experience or training in library sciences preferred
- Exceptional communication skills, written and verbal  
- Strong team player abilities
- Interest in working for an arts organization that is governed by a Board of Directors
