FAVA is currently looking for a Librarian to join the FAVA team for 10 weeks in the
summer of 2009. FAVA is a non-profit, charitable organization whose mandate is to
support the production and exhibition of film, video and media artists from Northern
Alberta.

0 p. G8 @+ p: |/ OFAVA serves members with diverse backgrounds and levels of experience, ranging from
* U8 N2 {% E9 C  F% [' z7 }emerging, mid-range to established artists with an unwavering passion for film, video
0 C8 o. `1 p7 `0 Yand media art. FAVA offers: a variety of workshops for artistic and skill development; is a
resource for production equipment and post-production facilities; hosts events and
screenings; and fosters and develops a dynamic media arts community in Northern
Alberta.

Job Description: The Librarian will report to the Executive Director and work with the
FAVA staff by organizing and updating two libraries: the film, video and digital library; as

- Sort and catalogue the film, video and digital library
- Sort and catalogue scripts, magazine and books
7 x& X8 i9 Y4 \( t7 _- Implement a catalogue template for future use
4 N9 o8 S! {  u1 {- Update and develop loaning policy and procedure
$ d* t, \: }" O/ u- C' N- Enforce FAVA’s standard of use policies where applicable

! ?; N, v& R% Q1 j" X; q. ~5 K- Funding for this position is provided by the Summer Temporary Employment Program

- Applicants must be unemployed and attending (or have recently completed) a post-

2 x2 f8 \1 X, A1 k3 h- Wage is $15.00 per hour, 35 hours per week
* _, X2 @9 z8 }) x0 ?) m- Length of position: 10 consecutive weeks

Qualifications: The ideal candidate will have:
" P) T. E7 P3 q( o- A passionate interest in film, video and media arts
9 f) i' t. o2 E3 K8 A; D. M& t- Strong organizational skills
- Experience or training in library sciences preferred
, J' _* X' }$ L1 l5 o& x. y: i( O- Exceptional communication skills, written and verbal  
- Strong team player abilities
- Interest in working for an arts organization that is governed by a Board of Directors
