FAVA is currently looking for a Librarian to join the FAVA team for 10 weeks in the . w$ w. }& F" o6 a, Y! ^8 i
summer of 2009. FAVA is a non-profit, charitable organization whose mandate is to ; k, d/ h- r" Y% r: f! _
support the production and exhibition of film, video and media artists from Northern

FAVA serves members with diverse backgrounds and levels of experience, ranging from
: j' w# Z) D' H, J4 ]. K( a1 h) {emerging, mid-range to established artists with an unwavering passion for film, video # @) s- E" u; I0 Y! i# ` o
and media art. FAVA offers: a variety of workshops for artistic and skill development; is a & m- p" a" U: u2 J4 c$ O6 b
resource for production equipment and post-production facilities; hosts events and 7 R9 Y1 o. f3 n2 F
screenings; and fosters and develops a dynamic media arts community in Northern

Job Description: The Librarian will report to the Executive Director and work with the
+ f" y+ f, e& S* I5 C; e9 BFAVA staff by organizing and updating two libraries: the film, video and digital library; as
/ K$ D0 |* P" @well as the script, magazine and book library.

Duties:
# Q; v5 C; t- y' o' O0 q: q. S- Sort and catalogue the film, video and digital library
9 A. `% l9 ]4 C4 r6 _. b( H4 E- Sort and catalogue scripts, magazine and books & N9 E$ U% v+ ~7 C$ |" U
- Implement a catalogue template for future use
2 x; S8 S, Y* K- Update and develop loaning policy and procedure : i' Z6 b" {+ J1 h
- Enforce FAVA’s standard of use policies where applicable
& g. \: C2 R9 A" a" Q; A9 ~ 9 o5 {6 n' Y3 S, n' v* E

- Applicants must be unemployed and attending (or have recently completed) a post-

- Wage is $15.00 per hour, 35 hours per week

Qualifications: The ideal candidate will have:
5 O( R+ K- F( c. M. t. u- A passionate interest in film, video and media arts 1 ^5 V( m( I2 K* i d2 ^$ J) b
- Strong organizational skills . v: f, n/ `6 ]0 d5 w
- Experience or training in library sciences preferred

- Strong team player abilities
