FAVA is currently looking for a Librarian to join the FAVA team for 10 weeks in the U, ?/ S* s8 w# S; }
summer of 2009. FAVA is a non-profit, charitable organization whose mandate is to

FAVA serves members with diverse backgrounds and levels of experience, ranging from
! h% U- H5 E3 J, F" semerging, mid-range to established artists with an unwavering passion for film, video " Q5 d4 }* X z5 }
and media art. FAVA offers: a variety of workshops for artistic and skill development; is a * v" A9 H0 N9 L
resource for production equipment and post-production facilities; hosts events and 9 }# k1 I) H/ U/ T2 X
screenings; and fosters and develops a dynamic media arts community in Northern % f3 `! B/ j9 D" x
Alberta.

6 t' y$ H6 I! s* M- YJob Description: The Librarian will report to the Executive Director and work with the ' _, u3 V, _! m( r1 {& D
FAVA staff by organizing and updating two libraries: the film, video and digital library; as , c7 v, H9 p! F7 d5 z
well as the script, magazine and book library. $ c; _; n- N Q0 E8 f" |0 W
' }! h) Y1 e" }' ]0 w1 }* b1 o
Duties: * s; E \/ P/ g5 ~" ~# O
- Sort and catalogue the film, video and digital library
# h$ C% m1 M* i8 e+ ]+ O- Sort and catalogue scripts, magazine and books
. u0 \: E" Y1 [/ D" U- Implement a catalogue template for future use " m/ D+ q2 N; W0 i$ }
- Update and develop loaning policy and procedure / C7 Y3 ~( }6 O$ e! t. B$ I
- Enforce FAVA’s standard of use policies where applicable 6 |% O, |( g$ f/ P* O1 k

- Applicants must be unemployed and attending (or have recently completed) a post-$ ?/ h. v" u" i5 v% V+ A0 Z
secondary training, university preferred + }$ J4 z; J- G z
- Wage is $15.00 per hour, 35 hours per week
/ v, m7 \( O8 [" C' E- Length of position: 10 consecutive weeks

Qualifications: The ideal candidate will have: 9 L. P* j" [& O+ L+ U
- A passionate interest in film, video and media arts ( C, [$ |# J6 i1 T) b: u& h' C
- Strong organizational skills & o+ b$ Q8 u y* V
- Experience or training in library sciences preferred
% }% k" ~( ?; w& V o- Exceptional communication skills, written and verbal
