FAVA is currently looking for a Librarian to join the FAVA team for 10 weeks in the
summer of 2009. FAVA is a non-profit, charitable organization whose mandate is to
# o  R2 v+ q; O4 c8 Dsupport the production and exhibition of film, video and media artists from Northern
( |1 P3 f; Q2 q2 |7 }& LAlberta.

FAVA serves members with diverse backgrounds and levels of experience, ranging from
emerging, mid-range to established artists with an unwavering passion for film, video
) p* H7 w. V, \" Qand media art. FAVA offers: a variety of workshops for artistic and skill development; is a
resource for production equipment and post-production facilities; hosts events and
screenings; and fosters and develops a dynamic media arts community in Northern
! V3 s/ ?6 R& O! ~% j' GAlberta.

Job Description: The Librarian will report to the Executive Director and work with the
3 v4 v! r: a4 [0 w: bFAVA staff by organizing and updating two libraries: the film, video and digital library; as
6 I4 w0 d2 d' Y0 y* J+ D( Y5 l* S* qwell as the script, magazine and book library.

3 t+ K2 n1 b* d" gDuties:
- Sort and catalogue the film, video and digital library
- Sort and catalogue scripts, magazine and books
: Q  G$ A) f3 N! z4 V5 E  Z; l- Implement a catalogue template for future use
- Update and develop loaning policy and procedure
- Enforce FAVA’s standard of use policies where applicable

- Length of position: 10 consecutive weeks

- A passionate interest in film, video and media arts
0 r2 O1 @. K( z( s4 \- Strong organizational skills
& \( g. x; O0 Z; Y7 V# F- Experience or training in library sciences preferred
- Exceptional communication skills, written and verbal  
7 j5 y+ x' ]2 S& h8 B- Strong team player abilities
- Interest in working for an arts organization that is governed by a Board of Directors
