FAVA serves members with diverse backgrounds and levels of experience, ranging from " Z. E, s( c( u3 j$ W, ^ q
emerging, mid-range to established artists with an unwavering passion for film, video
- Q$ P4 _' ?1 I/ G) z v. iand media art. FAVA offers: a variety of workshops for artistic and skill development; is a 6 }9 E4 d! i5 J! u, n+ o/ N: f& e
resource for production equipment and post-production facilities; hosts events and 2 _5 p- h' y. b6 r$ H
screenings; and fosters and develops a dynamic media arts community in Northern

Job Description: The Librarian will report to the Executive Director and work with the
9 h4 s7 n$ n1 q1 c" B! S1 ]FAVA staff by organizing and updating two libraries: the film, video and digital library; as
1 L) d1 P- ^ b) Qwell as the script, magazine and book library. & n& T" u/ Y$ |
1 A6 ]6 t/ o2 T" D ~Duties:
( M: k. b. q- s% ]: `' L* q5 \- Sort and catalogue the film, video and digital library
! K3 ?! n# Q9 z5 X- Sort and catalogue scripts, magazine and books
" U! Q3 h# u. C3 A7 G- Implement a catalogue template for future use ; n5 R# L5 M: y, r+ Y# Q2 v
- Update and develop loaning policy and procedure
: w2 A. Q2 z- S( q0 }; P- Enforce FAVA’s standard of use policies where applicable

- Funding for this position is provided by the Summer Temporary Employment Program

- Applicants must be unemployed and attending (or have recently completed) a post-
4 G Y- w; [/ R* m4 I5 ]/ z2 Msecondary training, university preferred

- Length of position: 10 consecutive weeks

Qualifications: The ideal candidate will have:
& L" u. u: i4 ~- A passionate interest in film, video and media arts
. Q* N! v6 Z: P% V! i- Strong organizational skills
1 W: f; |! H5 d+ E) {- Experience or training in library sciences preferred

- Strong team player abilities ( K" i5 C/ x* w, l
