FAVA is currently looking for a Librarian to join the FAVA team for 10 weeks in the u, A7 T, a. I; X! d9 S
summer of 2009. FAVA is a non-profit, charitable organization whose mandate is to
7 N+ a/ e- Y; B" C4 B1 D0 D* D1 c" A6 Jsupport the production and exhibition of film, video and media artists from Northern : z9 d- U+ W" s k+ A1 ?4 U

FAVA serves members with diverse backgrounds and levels of experience, ranging from 9 d( t- ~* N# A6 x# p% Z! ~8 G# ]
emerging, mid-range to established artists with an unwavering passion for film, video 6 B8 T# O% G% H/ O: _. |
and media art. FAVA offers: a variety of workshops for artistic and skill development; is a ! O" T* F l$ a
resource for production equipment and post-production facilities; hosts events and
% @* a" A" K3 r" Escreenings; and fosters and develops a dynamic media arts community in Northern
; p. k0 i5 ?* h5 @( wAlberta.

Job Description: The Librarian will report to the Executive Director and work with the
[+ {8 c6 W% Z0 l( I! m) TFAVA staff by organizing and updating two libraries: the film, video and digital library; as / f7 B0 B0 E* t
well as the script, magazine and book library.

Duties:
& i$ G7 A! H+ X3 Z7 S5 h- Sort and catalogue the film, video and digital library
?0 b% ~! ^" i) z0 n- Sort and catalogue scripts, magazine and books
4 Q* V' z& k# v5 V7 w, V- Implement a catalogue template for future use
# e8 L7 M$ P3 T3 r; X6 I0 {- Update and develop loaning policy and procedure $ p( `, o* `; a, b Y% c) A. }- J
- Enforce FAVA’s standard of use policies where applicable $ s: F7 D4 m/ i( Z( P" O

- Funding for this position is provided by the Summer Temporary Employment Program

- Applicants must be unemployed and attending (or have recently completed) a post-

3 U% L2 j+ K0 d9 i- A passionate interest in film, video and media arts
+ F9 G/ ?6 i& `; F; a/ Z3 I6 J- Strong organizational skills * P4 ]( r& H4 j3 i
- Experience or training in library sciences preferred + V7 ~& V1 k0 b; w: W X8 b
- Exceptional communication skills, written and verbal

' J; X: l1 P9 h/ l- Interest in working for an arts organization that is governed by a Board of Directors
