summer of 2009. FAVA is a non-profit, charitable organization whose mandate is to
* h5 Y& ^+ ]' w: x% ^5 o6 gsupport the production and exhibition of film, video and media artists from Northern

" n; S1 A6 i5 U5 Q9 aFAVA serves members with diverse backgrounds and levels of experience, ranging from
( I# o! ]4 _: s$ j0 X* Demerging, mid-range to established artists with an unwavering passion for film, video
7 r$ m# W( Z1 N# ?$ f0 @" e6 Pand media art. FAVA offers: a variety of workshops for artistic and skill development; is a 6 K% i" `' j7 P M- a% o- e9 t& M4 l
resource for production equipment and post-production facilities; hosts events and " w7 }( `5 A: g, t
screenings; and fosters and develops a dynamic media arts community in Northern

- A" a8 J6 C1 ]- `( C' `Job Description: The Librarian will report to the Executive Director and work with the
( Z7 q' K: Y6 n7 u( V- XFAVA staff by organizing and updating two libraries: the film, video and digital library; as - W/ o7 y. B' w4 Z3 R( F
well as the script, magazine and book library.

- Sort and catalogue the film, video and digital library
0 n1 z/ f: l$ c! x, T3 [8 `) g- Sort and catalogue scripts, magazine and books / F( [2 T& |9 J$ j
- Implement a catalogue template for future use
! z; |7 O& n% V* n* S' E! a- Update and develop loaning policy and procedure T8 h, G8 Z! X
- Enforce FAVA’s standard of use policies where applicable 4 a! E5 a5 `% ?

- Applicants must be unemployed and attending (or have recently completed) a post-$ K' ^ U+ D- A
secondary training, university preferred

- Length of position: 10 consecutive weeks ( \$ Z3 |6 c: F- z

Qualifications: The ideal candidate will have: # g9 R: [% L! g9 L
- A passionate interest in film, video and media arts
5 Z$ N' N3 J- M6 i% A- Strong organizational skills
* S$ M* S8 ?5 m1 M- Experience or training in library sciences preferred ( Z! o4 ]* [+ F8 T
- Exceptional communication skills, written and verbal 8 q. V% w" E5 e3 R6 J3 X$ V7 l
- Strong team player abilities
