: r1 P  p4 o/ Z8 tFAVA is currently looking for a Librarian to join the FAVA team for 10 weeks in the
summer of 2009. FAVA is a non-profit, charitable organization whose mandate is to
support the production and exhibition of film, video and media artists from Northern
* v6 O/ l- E5 O* fAlberta.

FAVA serves members with diverse backgrounds and levels of experience, ranging from
emerging, mid-range to established artists with an unwavering passion for film, video
and media art. FAVA offers: a variety of workshops for artistic and skill development; is a
resource for production equipment and post-production facilities; hosts events and
screenings; and fosters and develops a dynamic media arts community in Northern

6 H' h' q5 |  p( V4 m- SJob Description: The Librarian will report to the Executive Director and work with the
FAVA staff by organizing and updating two libraries: the film, video and digital library; as
well as the script, magazine and book library.

- Sort and catalogue the film, video and digital library
1 E% s5 @& ?0 d; A- Sort and catalogue scripts, magazine and books
/ Q- A$ w% r  k/ X# |- Implement a catalogue template for future use
$ M& l2 i6 d) [- Update and develop loaning policy and procedure
, T0 w) h! f: u0 M1 Y$ u8 ?: K- Enforce FAVA’s standard of use policies where applicable

secondary training, university preferred
- Wage is $15.00 per hour, 35 hours per week
- Length of position: 10 consecutive weeks

Qualifications: The ideal candidate will have:
- A passionate interest in film, video and media arts
& W4 J  m8 b" `# s- Strong organizational skills
- Experience or training in library sciences preferred
- Exceptional communication skills, written and verbal  
! @1 x$ w( s( H* A' A: N$ ~. q- |4 @- Strong team player abilities
- Interest in working for an arts organization that is governed by a Board of Directors
