FAVA is currently looking for a Librarian to join the FAVA team for 10 weeks in the ' i9 J- }3 ]2 y9 S4 B
summer of 2009. FAVA is a non-profit, charitable organization whose mandate is to 6 K4 P" H& h+ W: N! T# s
support the production and exhibition of film, video and media artists from Northern 7 d$ ] n& b% K0 t+ Q0 c
Alberta.

FAVA serves members with diverse backgrounds and levels of experience, ranging from - P5 K8 d7 P) `8 @
emerging, mid-range to established artists with an unwavering passion for film, video " l- M0 d1 z: w- d' X9 b+ P& ~
and media art. FAVA offers: a variety of workshops for artistic and skill development; is a
6 t9 W: \2 \- C! N) x) @resource for production equipment and post-production facilities; hosts events and

Job Description: The Librarian will report to the Executive Director and work with the
. G5 }3 f2 r; p4 LFAVA staff by organizing and updating two libraries: the film, video and digital library; as
! p% g( g4 }* n* f% Twell as the script, magazine and book library. % k% m; j5 O# C1 b
9 K% { @3 g! s2 j# b* aDuties:
- c& h8 h5 S/ \$ F2 T- Sort and catalogue the film, video and digital library ) p) @9 z _5 b" b# L
- Sort and catalogue scripts, magazine and books
. Y3 n8 \/ w- X: {; R6 _" l8 N- Implement a catalogue template for future use - w" n( W# d0 }
- Update and develop loaning policy and procedure

Qualifications: The ideal candidate will have: , s) F7 T! C+ Z2 }2 U
- A passionate interest in film, video and media arts

7 Q8 B& ?3 L! B b- Experience or training in library sciences preferred " @ h5 G; {% s/ Z
- Exceptional communication skills, written and verbal 8 H* {% ^1 K3 R1 c' t
- Strong team player abilities
