FAVA is currently looking for a Librarian to join the FAVA team for 10 weeks in the

support the production and exhibition of film, video and media artists from Northern 7 q7 o) s5 @' o7 A+ u3 M: m
Alberta.

emerging, mid-range to established artists with an unwavering passion for film, video
) I" I4 f- y& h) ^and media art. FAVA offers: a variety of workshops for artistic and skill development; is a

% a1 Z0 H9 i4 Z, [+ K0 OJob Description: The Librarian will report to the Executive Director and work with the
2 `! k8 R S$ eFAVA staff by organizing and updating two libraries: the film, video and digital library; as + c8 ~! e/ c/ \: ?2 w" B$ d5 z) S
well as the script, magazine and book library. ! U% J* o; d" C; O0 ~2 @1 l

Duties: % V/ H- I' A. ~) u5 f
- Sort and catalogue the film, video and digital library # Q0 B' \% E2 P$ `; N; a* N+ @
- Sort and catalogue scripts, magazine and books
3 @. d( L$ K" X7 r6 ]- Implement a catalogue template for future use 0 A8 L. R! b! a# }
- Update and develop loaning policy and procedure " H8 A3 N: D( l- [
- Enforce FAVA’s standard of use policies where applicable

- Applicants must be unemployed and attending (or have recently completed) a post-

- Length of position: 10 consecutive weeks

Qualifications: The ideal candidate will have: + Z4 Z& `; ]9 L2 L8 n/ W: K
- A passionate interest in film, video and media arts ) t- w4 \9 `% w3 c
- Strong organizational skills 7 |6 {- N. v. v5 m
- Experience or training in library sciences preferred
! m f& h1 B# H* A/ I; u- Exceptional communication skills, written and verbal / X' M! F) U: c9 o+ u& r
- Strong team player abilities 5 S4 ^' t* L! r; f9 I, q/ p$ @! n
- Interest in working for an arts organization that is governed by a Board of Directors
