FAVA is currently looking for a Librarian to join the FAVA team for 10 weeks in the
) s' N- b7 ^" F: Lsummer of 2009. FAVA is a non-profit, charitable organization whose mandate is to
support the production and exhibition of film, video and media artists from Northern
* x/ v. \- M& I2 C" }+ D( pAlberta.

" W$ c6 u- C5 B" }4 M1 M) \FAVA serves members with diverse backgrounds and levels of experience, ranging from
; S% w5 F) l, m6 j- ]emerging, mid-range to established artists with an unwavering passion for film, video
- ?; @: P% D" Uand media art. FAVA offers: a variety of workshops for artistic and skill development; is a
* ~) ~: d6 ]" Vresource for production equipment and post-production facilities; hosts events and
screenings; and fosters and develops a dynamic media arts community in Northern

Job Description: The Librarian will report to the Executive Director and work with the
  y. X1 F8 [# DFAVA staff by organizing and updating two libraries: the film, video and digital library; as
well as the script, magazine and book library.

Duties:
$ F+ S; B- }6 \9 ?6 a/ t9 R- Sort and catalogue the film, video and digital library
! }9 y$ W) P0 ]- Sort and catalogue scripts, magazine and books
- Implement a catalogue template for future use
- Update and develop loaning policy and procedure
- Enforce FAVA’s standard of use policies where applicable

- Funding for this position is provided by the Summer Temporary Employment Program

- Length of position: 10 consecutive weeks

& s9 L( h  }5 j+ V  RQualifications: The ideal candidate will have:
' B& H* K$ b" ~! p# I* _  w- A passionate interest in film, video and media arts
- Strong organizational skills
4 M$ u' c/ l: K6 z' X, `' R" e% J- Experience or training in library sciences preferred
- Exceptional communication skills, written and verbal  
- Strong team player abilities
  F  a4 ?! Q- H: C$ f- Interest in working for an arts organization that is governed by a Board of Directors

I have 3 years librarian expeirence in U of A, and believe I can fit in this postion perfectly.
