FAVA is currently looking for a Librarian to join the FAVA team for 10 weeks in the % \" b$ ]+ H+ M% T. D/ b2 O
summer of 2009. FAVA is a non-profit, charitable organization whose mandate is to
$ G& B, T& W& r, @support the production and exhibition of film, video and media artists from Northern y V8 m$ K0 x+ b+ K
Alberta. ( Y# g2 t' d, g, n; D
4 s7 j% g: h" o# o; q- v) ^2 X' o" {FAVA serves members with diverse backgrounds and levels of experience, ranging from ' e& H! }$ O# P, M) Z; E8 M2 E" V
emerging, mid-range to established artists with an unwavering passion for film, video , ?6 H9 O; t- h' A9 C
and media art. FAVA offers: a variety of workshops for artistic and skill development; is a 7 g: W+ P& m+ `; u1 O: S$ e
resource for production equipment and post-production facilities; hosts events and 1 ~$ y! T: F5 r J+ e, u
screenings; and fosters and develops a dynamic media arts community in Northern

! \4 U2 W+ D* e. A g5 U5 ?2 XJob Description: The Librarian will report to the Executive Director and work with the
+ A6 [" [$ [ G/ {5 c/ kFAVA staff by organizing and updating two libraries: the film, video and digital library; as & h+ K& \8 x4 q D
well as the script, magazine and book library.

- Sort and catalogue the film, video and digital library r5 R6 n) p$ w$ w
- Sort and catalogue scripts, magazine and books
2 X% ]6 W) U* M- Implement a catalogue template for future use
9 {7 b: J* ?2 p0 O0 x- Update and develop loaning policy and procedure
2 Z! ?9 L& |% r& c9 Z7 z- Enforce FAVA’s standard of use policies where applicable ! I$ W$ _; A/ S0 ^- K3 J+ j

- Wage is $15.00 per hour, 35 hours per week

Qualifications: The ideal candidate will have:
1 d1 d1 O; S G) ?- A passionate interest in film, video and media arts
# G# S: ^2 ~8 G5 _+ c' n- Strong organizational skills
6 t( c' F2 f/ [, q" T- Experience or training in library sciences preferred
2 Y, T1 x( {" {- Exceptional communication skills, written and verbal $ O P; N9 u8 B
- Strong team player abilities
6 C! `/ n" _6 w- Interest in working for an arts organization that is governed by a Board of Directors
