FAVA is currently looking for a Librarian to join the FAVA team for 10 weeks in the
5 C. v1 }0 A( ?summer of 2009. FAVA is a non-profit, charitable organization whose mandate is to
support the production and exhibition of film, video and media artists from Northern
5 Y! q5 q8 `- ~- e  \Alberta.

3 ?* W  }& @* j- C! R+ ~% d( i7 PFAVA serves members with diverse backgrounds and levels of experience, ranging from
* y: g" P' y- C; ^& |emerging, mid-range to established artists with an unwavering passion for film, video
and media art. FAVA offers: a variety of workshops for artistic and skill development; is a
3 a# k- O- l3 H% F5 ~; |. [  Vresource for production equipment and post-production facilities; hosts events and
screenings; and fosters and develops a dynamic media arts community in Northern
/ Q. _, L2 {% ?% z% {' \Alberta.

Job Description: The Librarian will report to the Executive Director and work with the
FAVA staff by organizing and updating two libraries: the film, video and digital library; as
well as the script, magazine and book library.

Duties:
- Sort and catalogue the film, video and digital library
3 r( B$ {# {, O- Sort and catalogue scripts, magazine and books
- Implement a catalogue template for future use
- Update and develop loaning policy and procedure
6 J- K; E4 x1 ^$ f9 w6 I- Enforce FAVA’s standard of use policies where applicable

Details:
- Funding for this position is provided by the Summer Temporary Employment Program
(STEP)
' J' ?* m- P; `  b- Applicants must be unemployed and attending (or have recently completed) a post-
secondary training, university preferred
8 Y- T% @/ o! g# g5 g8 E( i- Wage is $15.00 per hour, 35 hours per week
- Length of position: 10 consecutive weeks

( T9 Z( ^3 j1 h! n7 V- A passionate interest in film, video and media arts
- Strong organizational skills
- Experience or training in library sciences preferred

5 O+ d1 H2 t- j) ^& I- Strong team player abilities
- Interest in working for an arts organization that is governed by a Board of Directors
