FAVA is currently looking for a Librarian to join the FAVA team for 10 weeks in the 6 R& v! L6 c: Y' \
summer of 2009. FAVA is a non-profit, charitable organization whose mandate is to * ?, V! p! X0 Y+ l9 Y
support the production and exhibition of film, video and media artists from Northern 3 d" i8 h6 F3 y- S* K
Alberta. 8 \( X+ p0 A0 O/ m! l/ q8 n
8 l! j9 _2 J0 Z7 J) u5 CFAVA serves members with diverse backgrounds and levels of experience, ranging from 8 j2 v) u5 k2 m( a
emerging, mid-range to established artists with an unwavering passion for film, video
& D) p4 `3 D2 H* e' Uand media art. FAVA offers: a variety of workshops for artistic and skill development; is a ) Z* x( g# R }+ k5 v
resource for production equipment and post-production facilities; hosts events and
* O- y+ U: p8 V4 s7 z& Bscreenings; and fosters and develops a dynamic media arts community in Northern : u7 j3 {: {+ ~2 N7 n2 x9 F3 p

Job Description: The Librarian will report to the Executive Director and work with the $ u5 v3 m/ K H0 O1 H
FAVA staff by organizing and updating two libraries: the film, video and digital library; as

Duties: - A+ E( ]: @+ E" `( p3 J2 R, r: B
- Sort and catalogue the film, video and digital library 8 p8 ]- p0 s4 j9 J( O4 Z
- Sort and catalogue scripts, magazine and books 7 F( | F9 {4 t" D
- Implement a catalogue template for future use % z/ d* F) [7 b6 L6 a
- Update and develop loaning policy and procedure

- Applicants must be unemployed and attending (or have recently completed) a post-

- A passionate interest in film, video and media arts 6 y1 Z" t g. y
- Strong organizational skills

- Exceptional communication skills, written and verbal
