) i+ p  p; V& K+ {' \- ^+ F6 ZFAVA is currently looking for a Librarian to join the FAVA team for 10 weeks in the
/ h2 d: z7 C+ ^summer of 2009. FAVA is a non-profit, charitable organization whose mandate is to
/ m( E! k$ `5 _$ V" M1 E' Nsupport the production and exhibition of film, video and media artists from Northern
Alberta.

: q! d) R' Q$ v- r3 ~6 G# RFAVA serves members with diverse backgrounds and levels of experience, ranging from
" v) P6 q5 d  |. S$ Aemerging, mid-range to established artists with an unwavering passion for film, video
and media art. FAVA offers: a variety of workshops for artistic and skill development; is a
resource for production equipment and post-production facilities; hosts events and
screenings; and fosters and develops a dynamic media arts community in Northern
5 D5 f7 J' y" aAlberta.

Job Description: The Librarian will report to the Executive Director and work with the
FAVA staff by organizing and updating two libraries: the film, video and digital library; as
well as the script, magazine and book library.

Duties:
- Sort and catalogue the film, video and digital library
- Sort and catalogue scripts, magazine and books
* D. T# j, C  [) b' U- Implement a catalogue template for future use
( l: O! `3 a0 A2 L- Update and develop loaning policy and procedure
- Enforce FAVA’s standard of use policies where applicable

Details:
- Funding for this position is provided by the Summer Temporary Employment Program
(STEP)
- Applicants must be unemployed and attending (or have recently completed) a post-
$ f, [; u8 _7 b' T" asecondary training, university preferred
- Wage is $15.00 per hour, 35 hours per week
- Length of position: 10 consecutive weeks

- M  {/ G, h2 ~, H2 G2 s" xQualifications: The ideal candidate will have:
- A passionate interest in film, video and media arts
- Strong organizational skills
- Experience or training in library sciences preferred
- Exceptional communication skills, written and verbal

- Interest in working for an arts organization that is governed by a Board of Directors
