8 Q; n" H: Y6 {, CFAVA is currently looking for a Librarian to join the FAVA team for 10 weeks in the * {8 h$ G8 v6 z9 R
summer of 2009. FAVA is a non-profit, charitable organization whose mandate is to 8 r) `# P5 t% W, C- O) `
support the production and exhibition of film, video and media artists from Northern 0 \; J- h! O! T" I, i" Z
Alberta.

FAVA serves members with diverse backgrounds and levels of experience, ranging from
0 W7 p7 t& J) z& Q" R& yemerging, mid-range to established artists with an unwavering passion for film, video
$ p0 a1 ~: n$ c5 sand media art. FAVA offers: a variety of workshops for artistic and skill development; is a 5 z1 D9 x s) z5 W
resource for production equipment and post-production facilities; hosts events and 7 W3 S: B9 \: R
screenings; and fosters and develops a dynamic media arts community in Northern 1 l9 z( v" y1 o7 R4 c
Alberta.

1 R* u! L8 Q4 }6 F7 {Job Description: The Librarian will report to the Executive Director and work with the
+ E4 g$ d, W5 L6 l8 }6 V! @FAVA staff by organizing and updating two libraries: the film, video and digital library; as 0 n: x0 h2 L0 ]. y O3 F
well as the script, magazine and book library.

Duties: $ b( j* b- ]% `7 |2 b5 _
- Sort and catalogue the film, video and digital library
6 X; F! i! d3 n1 b- Sort and catalogue scripts, magazine and books
$ C* Y+ K6 M+ C* R; ~" i8 G- Implement a catalogue template for future use ( r3 j# _/ R5 W* h: R, r d
- Update and develop loaning policy and procedure ' t0 @0 K- i- _4 U* ?
- Enforce FAVA’s standard of use policies where applicable

- Length of position: 10 consecutive weeks

- A passionate interest in film, video and media arts

- Experience or training in library sciences preferred - c$ H& I+ Q" A
- Exceptional communication skills, written and verbal
