summer of 2009. FAVA is a non-profit, charitable organization whose mandate is to
" d; L7 T% u8 ^; \( zsupport the production and exhibition of film, video and media artists from Northern
& o6 R3 x8 [% o+ QAlberta.

, Y0 C+ |% W x8 R* DFAVA serves members with diverse backgrounds and levels of experience, ranging from
" ], y9 G% q" \4 a" Femerging, mid-range to established artists with an unwavering passion for film, video ( R# w* ?8 M5 J3 S% M
and media art. FAVA offers: a variety of workshops for artistic and skill development; is a 4 Z" y! O3 g4 J' [' X" O
resource for production equipment and post-production facilities; hosts events and ( L1 X/ j9 e" ^! F3 R/ k: N
screenings; and fosters and develops a dynamic media arts community in Northern 5 v! |' Z! P6 _5 i' ^7 C( c
Alberta.

Job Description: The Librarian will report to the Executive Director and work with the
) h: Y2 Z7 f+ A6 P/ [; D; lFAVA staff by organizing and updating two libraries: the film, video and digital library; as $ i( [1 e1 K- o2 p4 R! o
well as the script, magazine and book library.

1 u$ O* U, y; i- Sort and catalogue the film, video and digital library - G1 K( t7 Z5 A
- Sort and catalogue scripts, magazine and books
) {2 g- z9 J; Q! W3 k: H- Implement a catalogue template for future use 3 T1 I, e' \8 p
- Update and develop loaning policy and procedure - N* F0 w% E c2 b* N$ g
- Enforce FAVA’s standard of use policies where applicable ) c/ H; V& i' x/ z

- Applicants must be unemployed and attending (or have recently completed) a post-

- Wage is $15.00 per hour, 35 hours per week : w+ m T; R$ i5 Y
- Length of position: 10 consecutive weeks

Qualifications: The ideal candidate will have:

- Strong organizational skills
; F3 ?1 k- A: G8 j8 d3 R4 Z( |- Experience or training in library sciences preferred
