; M! U% S& P1 ZFAVA is currently looking for a Librarian to join the FAVA team for 10 weeks in the
9 f* I8 L6 ?2 y, tsummer of 2009. FAVA is a non-profit, charitable organization whose mandate is to 3 _, s" D9 x3 z6 B5 \
support the production and exhibition of film, video and media artists from Northern

FAVA serves members with diverse backgrounds and levels of experience, ranging from 0 U- a8 |9 e3 N; o! o+ q4 l
emerging, mid-range to established artists with an unwavering passion for film, video % {& s+ g: q$ s0 E ?/ q' N w
and media art. FAVA offers: a variety of workshops for artistic and skill development; is a
4 b% h. U, T0 O/ @+ kresource for production equipment and post-production facilities; hosts events and 2 h; _/ T9 t' P+ d2 {6 F' }
screenings; and fosters and develops a dynamic media arts community in Northern

FAVA staff by organizing and updating two libraries: the film, video and digital library; as

Duties: : ?8 d$ z* t5 x2 K) G
- Sort and catalogue the film, video and digital library 4 M# m- T$ | o4 L9 k
- Sort and catalogue scripts, magazine and books
0 r2 c( P; S9 s+ A5 Y8 Y- Implement a catalogue template for future use ) Y) E4 b' q+ h- \
- Update and develop loaning policy and procedure
! r/ O" X& A7 o6 ^* U- Enforce FAVA’s standard of use policies where applicable

secondary training, university preferred

Qualifications: The ideal candidate will have: . P7 x7 W/ @5 x( X$ \
- A passionate interest in film, video and media arts 6 S: k4 E+ E Q. i3 b9 }, P
- Strong organizational skills ) u# v3 m: Z& S4 a- q/ E
- Experience or training in library sciences preferred 4 e' V S* R7 z4 k' g5 m- }
- Exceptional communication skills, written and verbal
& J' m$ X( Q8 ^- Strong team player abilities 9 n5 U0 y2 B. s' L& N s T
- Interest in working for an arts organization that is governed by a Board of Directors
