FAVA is currently looking for a Librarian to join the FAVA team for 10 weeks in the ) y t9 ^ _' P- o5 u6 o6 }* ^6 c
summer of 2009. FAVA is a non-profit, charitable organization whose mandate is to - k8 D/ Y" H9 ~* J2 u3 y
support the production and exhibition of film, video and media artists from Northern 8 d) G6 m" a# c+ A

% }+ L* I0 h- d! r$ oFAVA serves members with diverse backgrounds and levels of experience, ranging from

/ I2 |* t) R4 p9 C$ uand media art. FAVA offers: a variety of workshops for artistic and skill development; is a

Job Description: The Librarian will report to the Executive Director and work with the 5 C2 e S. y! W `6 y+ H
FAVA staff by organizing and updating two libraries: the film, video and digital library; as
6 s7 G) A; ~2 U: N5 ^well as the script, magazine and book library. 9 r& o% L. _: {" T

- Sort and catalogue the film, video and digital library 4 k6 p* f; N; A- p/ S2 q2 p' L
- Sort and catalogue scripts, magazine and books
4 N% H) ^) E8 L. P! z; }- p4 H' T- Implement a catalogue template for future use
6 j$ |5 N& n" |1 v$ i1 V" L- Update and develop loaning policy and procedure ) e. o e- x/ P" k8 E
- Enforce FAVA’s standard of use policies where applicable 7 a) ~, e+ u. ?$ l. B/ n0 K

- Applicants must be unemployed and attending (or have recently completed) a post-# f0 j) X" J K+ f0 N! a; g/ h0 V H
secondary training, university preferred

Qualifications: The ideal candidate will have: ' Q8 r3 ^" h6 J# o
- A passionate interest in film, video and media arts 0 F# T. t+ b6 _: c3 d& A5 j
- Strong organizational skills
6 p0 t" b+ b; d; X3 E6 J7 J: p4 f- Experience or training in library sciences preferred
8 z4 n: r1 z0 ]- Exceptional communication skills, written and verbal
: g; G1 R2 H* H" Q: W, ]- Strong team player abilities ( C& p% w3 K5 ^& x
- Interest in working for an arts organization that is governed by a Board of Directors , ]8 r4 p0 C$ i3 [; H
