FAVA is currently looking for a Librarian to join the FAVA team for 10 weeks in the
summer of 2009. FAVA is a non-profit, charitable organization whose mandate is to
( ?. k0 v$ m/ ^7 P) C- r2 `7 Hsupport the production and exhibition of film, video and media artists from Northern
8 P) s( P# i6 [' j4 f0 S  hAlberta.

3 F8 [' Q4 V$ |# @4 oFAVA serves members with diverse backgrounds and levels of experience, ranging from
emerging, mid-range to established artists with an unwavering passion for film, video
and media art. FAVA offers: a variety of workshops for artistic and skill development; is a
" k; n( k3 r/ s9 eresource for production equipment and post-production facilities; hosts events and
screenings; and fosters and develops a dynamic media arts community in Northern
Alberta.

# ^' ]9 A# g5 YJob Description: The Librarian will report to the Executive Director and work with the
FAVA staff by organizing and updating two libraries: the film, video and digital library; as
& r' x/ R9 B) y" J% E8 @well as the script, magazine and book library.

7 m1 x( m; G6 d8 X. i# X% Y4 PDuties:
- Sort and catalogue the film, video and digital library
- Sort and catalogue scripts, magazine and books
- Implement a catalogue template for future use
$ E/ x  n5 K5 c7 _, k$ t- Update and develop loaning policy and procedure
- Enforce FAVA’s standard of use policies where applicable

Details:

(STEP)
8 i4 V% z( |1 r9 i& x- Applicants must be unemployed and attending (or have recently completed) a post-
+ ~5 y+ a' B/ |6 ~2 S8 j6 ysecondary training, university preferred
- Wage is $15.00 per hour, 35 hours per week
- Length of position: 10 consecutive weeks

3 H4 a1 K% q) G& ~- A passionate interest in film, video and media arts
- Strong organizational skills
) x: c* S! y4 y, G- Experience or training in library sciences preferred
- Exceptional communication skills, written and verbal  
- Strong team player abilities
- Interest in working for an arts organization that is governed by a Board of Directors
