FAVA is currently looking for a Librarian to join the FAVA team for 10 weeks in the ; J+ ?3 P% u* x* k& \. g& T
summer of 2009. FAVA is a non-profit, charitable organization whose mandate is to 7 ~. V* s; I6 Y; C
support the production and exhibition of film, video and media artists from Northern 6 K4 g5 s1 H9 b* x
Alberta.

and media art. FAVA offers: a variety of workshops for artistic and skill development; is a

+ a* y r$ h% Q/ B$ AJob Description: The Librarian will report to the Executive Director and work with the
5 e: s |' y1 Y6 {/ BFAVA staff by organizing and updating two libraries: the film, video and digital library; as
5 b: G' u! [+ v2 s- [) R7 x$ Xwell as the script, magazine and book library. 8 c" T; e4 i8 i L" u* m/ t) i4 s

" @4 i; W* O# `, a! [. V ]- Sort and catalogue the film, video and digital library
* Z9 E% l0 r' y; d0 r5 E- Sort and catalogue scripts, magazine and books . S( A) N' K+ I/ H. T
- Implement a catalogue template for future use
l7 b" \+ S5 P* A) F0 j# z a! T* N- Update and develop loaning policy and procedure
$ R$ ?8 c1 M" P( z8 {/ t& x1 S- Enforce FAVA’s standard of use policies where applicable

- Applicants must be unemployed and attending (or have recently completed) a post-

. {! R( f7 e- f# J- Wage is $15.00 per hour, 35 hours per week
- {, G- O2 k1 X' t0 E- Length of position: 10 consecutive weeks

- Experience or training in library sciences preferred

- Interest in working for an arts organization that is governed by a Board of Directors
