! T# x; U3 @% nFAVA is currently looking for a Librarian to join the FAVA team for 10 weeks in the
/ O4 i0 P& n% B, V! h. hsummer of 2009. FAVA is a non-profit, charitable organization whose mandate is to * U& Q& S; h; E5 f9 x
support the production and exhibition of film, video and media artists from Northern 5 I" M$ c$ T* X" K9 t% o
Alberta.

FAVA serves members with diverse backgrounds and levels of experience, ranging from
' j& f2 t- l3 H3 b demerging, mid-range to established artists with an unwavering passion for film, video r4 x9 K) u* W; u2 W4 J) y
and media art. FAVA offers: a variety of workshops for artistic and skill development; is a
0 o, g4 R# z8 w) Rresource for production equipment and post-production facilities; hosts events and 7 P/ a4 x3 x3 _" y
screenings; and fosters and develops a dynamic media arts community in Northern
& \' B$ z F3 _( wAlberta.

; N4 ^3 x8 u1 _' A; p6 {+ j7 ]Job Description: The Librarian will report to the Executive Director and work with the % ], ` t8 f9 m+ q7 c( `
FAVA staff by organizing and updating two libraries: the film, video and digital library; as ' F. V2 z0 F2 u
well as the script, magazine and book library.

- Sort and catalogue the film, video and digital library 2 T* M- ^8 z: ]. S% B$ g
- Sort and catalogue scripts, magazine and books 2 p7 K+ k, _6 u+ a
- Implement a catalogue template for future use
7 u, U( L d+ _. f% Q! }- Update and develop loaning policy and procedure
+ A$ P# i7 V: |; L6 R( _4 g( o- Enforce FAVA’s standard of use policies where applicable

secondary training, university preferred

Qualifications: The ideal candidate will have: $ H1 W* W+ M7 Z+ P! m
- A passionate interest in film, video and media arts : A/ d; A; j ]6 c
- Strong organizational skills - k2 I3 u# x" _# J, h& C1 w9 i
- Experience or training in library sciences preferred , H8 D, j! l9 l8 `
- Exceptional communication skills, written and verbal 3 V G1 @' j. D1 @
- Strong team player abilities
& O- H5 m+ s. W- Interest in working for an arts organization that is governed by a Board of Directors $ l0 S- \7 n9 m( J5 C! S
