FAVA is currently looking for a Librarian to join the FAVA team for 10 weeks in the
- Z8 a- m7 W5 C4 ?summer of 2009. FAVA is a non-profit, charitable organization whose mandate is to
% J* b$ M. B8 p/ `support the production and exhibition of film, video and media artists from Northern
Alberta.

! ~* O$ Q. G& @" }7 q" H0 T  XFAVA serves members with diverse backgrounds and levels of experience, ranging from
0 }9 y) E4 O& Z) Cemerging, mid-range to established artists with an unwavering passion for film, video
and media art. FAVA offers: a variety of workshops for artistic and skill development; is a
resource for production equipment and post-production facilities; hosts events and
screenings; and fosters and develops a dynamic media arts community in Northern
Alberta.

; @$ P% ?' u& n5 K6 f- E! _Job Description: The Librarian will report to the Executive Director and work with the
FAVA staff by organizing and updating two libraries: the film, video and digital library; as
well as the script, magazine and book library.

& |3 e' ?8 }' z) Q  hDuties:
- Sort and catalogue the film, video and digital library
' r% ]1 A4 f7 ^" {  p0 }, v- Sort and catalogue scripts, magazine and books
9 i  ^; L/ Y4 h. [) h- Implement a catalogue template for future use
3 m; M( c1 l$ D7 ]$ f) M, Z- Update and develop loaning policy and procedure
/ u& Y& O) A/ ~8 W- Enforce FAVA’s standard of use policies where applicable

- Funding for this position is provided by the Summer Temporary Employment Program

( Q' [& h/ m2 S0 f  B3 I+ n2 Y  fsecondary training, university preferred
: z$ S5 y. _+ d: P; A- z- Wage is $15.00 per hour, 35 hours per week
4 o: n' F* Y* o: ^- Length of position: 10 consecutive weeks

Qualifications: The ideal candidate will have:
6 K2 x; i1 B" p; K9 z1 Y; F- A passionate interest in film, video and media arts
# N9 x. b0 v( k- Strong organizational skills
4 P  b  [$ j; M6 }/ L- Experience or training in library sciences preferred
. k: c5 y6 b6 q, t  {7 r$ e- Exceptional communication skills, written and verbal  
0 Z# {8 ^. t2 ~- @% `- Strong team player abilities
