FAVA is currently looking for a Librarian to join the FAVA team for 10 weeks in the / j3 i/ H# b1 V* X) @
summer of 2009. FAVA is a non-profit, charitable organization whose mandate is to

FAVA serves members with diverse backgrounds and levels of experience, ranging from
3 W7 c* t g9 O" memerging, mid-range to established artists with an unwavering passion for film, video , Y: L6 `' U/ j/ \3 H! {
and media art. FAVA offers: a variety of workshops for artistic and skill development; is a 8 j \1 U- Y3 [1 N
resource for production equipment and post-production facilities; hosts events and - g5 a9 r- r0 n: M: s [
screenings; and fosters and develops a dynamic media arts community in Northern 8 c; S/ n# p' o

( [) h1 a! O' xJob Description: The Librarian will report to the Executive Director and work with the
- R) }" |" l; b3 u) U4 o8 ]FAVA staff by organizing and updating two libraries: the film, video and digital library; as - y' @ s% f$ ?) i
well as the script, magazine and book library.

- Sort and catalogue the film, video and digital library
$ |3 h/ l, Z, v6 ~5 @+ F( v- Sort and catalogue scripts, magazine and books
3 Q' U N1 ~) s& g3 N- Implement a catalogue template for future use
$ b" v* ^- c$ a1 n- Update and develop loaning policy and procedure
+ X6 N& |# t! a L8 |- Enforce FAVA’s standard of use policies where applicable

- Strong organizational skills S9 e1 D" V( v. {/ {/ c! D$ n
- Experience or training in library sciences preferred : ~ a2 r, N3 l1 M* y
- Exceptional communication skills, written and verbal + `( z! W* U* u+ ]3 {9 E0 N7 K
- Strong team player abilities . h/ f7 |0 d3 \/ T2 ~$ U& ? A
- Interest in working for an arts organization that is governed by a Board of Directors - j8 H7 @9 U: m" [, e; L/ O' R
