summer of 2009. FAVA is a non-profit, charitable organization whose mandate is to

. i8 ~0 Z$ {$ |% t, g/ `. _FAVA serves members with diverse backgrounds and levels of experience, ranging from
emerging, mid-range to established artists with an unwavering passion for film, video
' N& S2 i' F# c) f. mand media art. FAVA offers: a variety of workshops for artistic and skill development; is a
resource for production equipment and post-production facilities; hosts events and

9 z& }8 D; E  V- W4 AJob Description: The Librarian will report to the Executive Director and work with the
FAVA staff by organizing and updating two libraries: the film, video and digital library; as
well as the script, magazine and book library.

1 `/ n3 c  [3 b; T+ ~- Sort and catalogue the film, video and digital library
) u6 w# S: x3 R; {1 B5 W- Sort and catalogue scripts, magazine and books
  O& o' D  Y* @' G/ x- Implement a catalogue template for future use
- Update and develop loaning policy and procedure
  i/ D( X0 g: W$ W- X! q+ E- Enforce FAVA’s standard of use policies where applicable

6 Q/ D+ G2 C( g' w2 f6 r. R- Funding for this position is provided by the Summer Temporary Employment Program
(STEP)
- Applicants must be unemployed and attending (or have recently completed) a post-
) q! k6 H6 f6 V3 s. c# M& Psecondary training, university preferred
- Wage is $15.00 per hour, 35 hours per week
" p5 N' @! G* ~( R* q6 z* @/ Z- Length of position: 10 consecutive weeks

- A passionate interest in film, video and media arts
- Strong organizational skills
- Experience or training in library sciences preferred
- Exceptional communication skills, written and verbal  
- Strong team player abilities
+ l& z7 C- w2 M$ F1 ]9 i- Interest in working for an arts organization that is governed by a Board of Directors
