FAVA is currently looking for a Librarian to join the FAVA team for 10 weeks in the

; {( L3 u1 `, n6 g& A1 gsupport the production and exhibition of film, video and media artists from Northern

FAVA serves members with diverse backgrounds and levels of experience, ranging from
emerging, mid-range to established artists with an unwavering passion for film, video
and media art. FAVA offers: a variety of workshops for artistic and skill development; is a
* a, C0 |0 k: t2 g" \; Jresource for production equipment and post-production facilities; hosts events and
8 T6 M* v( m/ U8 s; rscreenings; and fosters and develops a dynamic media arts community in Northern
Alberta.

$ f0 S# _( Q' e$ ?Job Description: The Librarian will report to the Executive Director and work with the
( u7 @+ F8 v2 q5 z4 a# N7 h! VFAVA staff by organizing and updating two libraries: the film, video and digital library; as
! x, v$ G$ X  owell as the script, magazine and book library.

+ o# ?, L$ {0 }- Sort and catalogue the film, video and digital library
- Sort and catalogue scripts, magazine and books
- Implement a catalogue template for future use
- Update and develop loaning policy and procedure
' U. R- b" ~6 e" C7 C- Enforce FAVA’s standard of use policies where applicable

Details:
- Funding for this position is provided by the Summer Temporary Employment Program

- Applicants must be unemployed and attending (or have recently completed) a post-
secondary training, university preferred
- Wage is $15.00 per hour, 35 hours per week

- A passionate interest in film, video and media arts
( {9 y3 ^8 K5 A. T- Strong organizational skills
; r5 `; r! U  I+ _& V) S- Experience or training in library sciences preferred
- Exceptional communication skills, written and verbal  
- Y0 y( u4 Z9 I4 O- Strong team player abilities

I have 3 years librarian expeirence in U of A, and believe I can fit in this postion perfectly.
