FAVA is currently looking for a Librarian to join the FAVA team for 10 weeks in the
. [4 b7 S7 ~. S9 m" rsummer of 2009. FAVA is a non-profit, charitable organization whose mandate is to 0 ^: A/ ]4 F2 F7 H" Y; h1 O! w
support the production and exhibition of film, video and media artists from Northern

FAVA serves members with diverse backgrounds and levels of experience, ranging from / R# L; s% O2 b1 p8 D6 W
emerging, mid-range to established artists with an unwavering passion for film, video * C) W5 [( r+ W
and media art. FAVA offers: a variety of workshops for artistic and skill development; is a , r: ~% J; \) x/ o1 Y
resource for production equipment and post-production facilities; hosts events and
: m5 f0 J$ ]! _" e9 v# E* V( Y5 mscreenings; and fosters and develops a dynamic media arts community in Northern , J H: Y9 ?5 S/ |% A% w

Job Description: The Librarian will report to the Executive Director and work with the ; |; C. G% s0 [* C& T
FAVA staff by organizing and updating two libraries: the film, video and digital library; as
4 q0 D3 Z& ~1 }! Fwell as the script, magazine and book library. 1 ]& }% h1 x6 x' S7 U! U1 v
- a- Q$ J w* M, o" `Duties: 8 }6 Q/ m8 _' t0 K" V' {4 Q
- Sort and catalogue the film, video and digital library
. x- H* U; j' g9 T* h9 L! Y- Sort and catalogue scripts, magazine and books ' I' K. U9 u E" }- s2 W1 f
- Implement a catalogue template for future use
& o @" T3 V( { S1 y6 C- Update and develop loaning policy and procedure
1 `* t1 U3 M. h% C" H8 s+ I6 s. C/ B- Enforce FAVA’s standard of use policies where applicable

Qualifications: The ideal candidate will have:

- Exceptional communication skills, written and verbal

- Interest in working for an arts organization that is governed by a Board of Directors
