FAVA is currently looking for a Librarian to join the FAVA team for 10 weeks in the
, `& t/ i9 \- L+ q; _summer of 2009. FAVA is a non-profit, charitable organization whose mandate is to
' j- |5 B3 L0 s7 {2 }5 G9 t; ysupport the production and exhibition of film, video and media artists from Northern
Alberta.

FAVA serves members with diverse backgrounds and levels of experience, ranging from
emerging, mid-range to established artists with an unwavering passion for film, video
and media art. FAVA offers: a variety of workshops for artistic and skill development; is a
resource for production equipment and post-production facilities; hosts events and
screenings; and fosters and develops a dynamic media arts community in Northern
Alberta.

Job Description: The Librarian will report to the Executive Director and work with the
( ~8 h- k$ M- |& {+ ^% \( `( cFAVA staff by organizing and updating two libraries: the film, video and digital library; as
well as the script, magazine and book library.

& ?( h$ m  l  I0 z6 i& TDuties:
8 ?3 E, C0 n: |1 q9 q- Sort and catalogue the film, video and digital library
1 y9 Z, {5 p& S- Sort and catalogue scripts, magazine and books
- Implement a catalogue template for future use
- Update and develop loaning policy and procedure
- Enforce FAVA’s standard of use policies where applicable

Details:
& E0 A* C, U0 q8 H, U- d- }- Funding for this position is provided by the Summer Temporary Employment Program

- Applicants must be unemployed and attending (or have recently completed) a post-
2 L1 p6 R2 R7 hsecondary training, university preferred
- Wage is $15.00 per hour, 35 hours per week
+ _& I- D' H  G9 U0 y7 S- Length of position: 10 consecutive weeks

Qualifications: The ideal candidate will have:
* {, z) O9 a1 V- A passionate interest in film, video and media arts
0 ~$ ^. \; s3 K1 F- V3 M5 e- Strong organizational skills
- Experience or training in library sciences preferred
- Exceptional communication skills, written and verbal  
- Strong team player abilities
