summer of 2009. FAVA is a non-profit, charitable organization whose mandate is to % ?3 x, `1 h* D, \" S6 b
support the production and exhibition of film, video and media artists from Northern ' e: j) L! s) S
Alberta.

FAVA serves members with diverse backgrounds and levels of experience, ranging from / o0 o0 ]/ _) ]4 ~
emerging, mid-range to established artists with an unwavering passion for film, video
3 r, q! L+ T4 r9 ?5 h+ w& Cand media art. FAVA offers: a variety of workshops for artistic and skill development; is a : H" s- k, w- ]1 ~5 ?3 e- p( p2 h
resource for production equipment and post-production facilities; hosts events and 2 U$ j' j% q$ l0 z4 c" y+ o' r
screenings; and fosters and develops a dynamic media arts community in Northern

Job Description: The Librarian will report to the Executive Director and work with the ; B, {2 c! a. X
FAVA staff by organizing and updating two libraries: the film, video and digital library; as + q. M7 l* K- b& y) V
well as the script, magazine and book library.

0 z( x. \+ C8 V5 J# n( O8 p- Sort and catalogue the film, video and digital library
. T. L' a" O; c7 ~! q4 {' o4 Z- Sort and catalogue scripts, magazine and books
/ V; z* \9 w% j/ [" O* ^- Implement a catalogue template for future use
5 \/ M$ w- _$ G# G' W: \/ h- Update and develop loaning policy and procedure
% s2 E' `, l2 @1 Z- Enforce FAVA’s standard of use policies where applicable # A( f9 P8 [) d) r

- Applicants must be unemployed and attending (or have recently completed) a post-
2 k; g; F- {- u* V9 Zsecondary training, university preferred 9 X& h0 |- |, _6 H& }( t
- Wage is $15.00 per hour, 35 hours per week

- Experience or training in library sciences preferred
