FAVA is currently looking for a Librarian to join the FAVA team for 10 weeks in the
summer of 2009. FAVA is a non-profit, charitable organization whose mandate is to
support the production and exhibition of film, video and media artists from Northern
0 U. e' }& O9 S. `; E* n+ AAlberta.

FAVA serves members with diverse backgrounds and levels of experience, ranging from
/ C& S9 X7 Z( |) Yemerging, mid-range to established artists with an unwavering passion for film, video
9 F( _7 K8 i; ^3 U+ hand media art. FAVA offers: a variety of workshops for artistic and skill development; is a
7 ]' W) P, }/ o6 b" T) o& sresource for production equipment and post-production facilities; hosts events and
screenings; and fosters and develops a dynamic media arts community in Northern
Alberta.

, p/ D5 ?$ H7 `# g! {2 I9 Q  }Job Description: The Librarian will report to the Executive Director and work with the
FAVA staff by organizing and updating two libraries: the film, video and digital library; as
well as the script, magazine and book library.

' t) i( _/ Z. p% `2 X: u) K- Sort and catalogue the film, video and digital library
& L2 l* U2 q2 d9 i- Sort and catalogue scripts, magazine and books
1 |' M% E8 V5 E. t5 s1 Y+ g- Implement a catalogue template for future use
7 z) `% V3 t7 S/ l1 T) c. C9 M- Update and develop loaning policy and procedure
' O6 {- o% K( \  @- i% b- Enforce FAVA’s standard of use policies where applicable

- Applicants must be unemployed and attending (or have recently completed) a post-
$ m, u+ K3 q. Psecondary training, university preferred
- Wage is $15.00 per hour, 35 hours per week

/ I' e. Q8 Z, K) y: }" j- A passionate interest in film, video and media arts
- Strong organizational skills
- Experience or training in library sciences preferred
- Exceptional communication skills, written and verbal  
- Strong team player abilities
- Interest in working for an arts organization that is governed by a Board of Directors
