  G/ D% C1 j8 R1 C* ?' Q1 |3 CFAVA is currently looking for a Librarian to join the FAVA team for 10 weeks in the
  C2 i' E1 v2 x; R' Osummer of 2009. FAVA is a non-profit, charitable organization whose mandate is to
; h9 e  ?! u" x; V- y2 P, c; f& b+ psupport the production and exhibition of film, video and media artists from Northern
Alberta.

FAVA serves members with diverse backgrounds and levels of experience, ranging from
/ n4 z, {* X: y0 U6 b, Memerging, mid-range to established artists with an unwavering passion for film, video
$ D# g2 E. N: r' K! Tand media art. FAVA offers: a variety of workshops for artistic and skill development; is a
resource for production equipment and post-production facilities; hosts events and
screenings; and fosters and develops a dynamic media arts community in Northern
; E; |& r) P1 `; B: T( PAlberta.

Job Description: The Librarian will report to the Executive Director and work with the
, I; Y, N5 l/ e. I% e0 [3 ?FAVA staff by organizing and updating two libraries: the film, video and digital library; as
: `& g& e6 u# zwell as the script, magazine and book library.

/ l+ r, t: g" [* G7 C- R: c- eDuties:
- Sort and catalogue the film, video and digital library
6 V# M: M* E  N" t+ p- Sort and catalogue scripts, magazine and books
- y# r- }& K! q0 H* E! T6 `6 E- Implement a catalogue template for future use
- Update and develop loaning policy and procedure
. a- u+ i, R" C, b$ K+ |6 Z- Enforce FAVA’s standard of use policies where applicable

Details:
- Funding for this position is provided by the Summer Temporary Employment Program
. C* l+ g# r) f( P9 l* I(STEP)
- Applicants must be unemployed and attending (or have recently completed) a post-
secondary training, university preferred
- Wage is $15.00 per hour, 35 hours per week
# ]; a" H3 b3 n' P. R% ?9 B  f- Length of position: 10 consecutive weeks

Qualifications: The ideal candidate will have:
3 J5 v) |) {, D$ o- A passionate interest in film, video and media arts
3 s7 R  m, @) i4 m9 L- Strong organizational skills
- Experience or training in library sciences preferred
" V! r, V. |' N" g( n! Q. m+ B9 Q- Exceptional communication skills, written and verbal  
+ a5 W! I3 h( C# `- Strong team player abilities
- Interest in working for an arts organization that is governed by a Board of Directors
