FAVA is currently looking for a Librarian to join the FAVA team for 10 weeks in the

\/ J* {) F4 ~. u3 n$ t5 pFAVA serves members with diverse backgrounds and levels of experience, ranging from n% M/ U# J0 N
emerging, mid-range to established artists with an unwavering passion for film, video
4 ~2 W! G( Q+ v" R0 ?* Sand media art. FAVA offers: a variety of workshops for artistic and skill development; is a
4 S5 k) p! a, r+ y8 j/ x' ^" eresource for production equipment and post-production facilities; hosts events and
$ f2 m& k- d8 o7 ]2 uscreenings; and fosters and develops a dynamic media arts community in Northern

- R7 A; P& `: x. CJob Description: The Librarian will report to the Executive Director and work with the C7 R6 z8 z( H4 T5 Z
FAVA staff by organizing and updating two libraries: the film, video and digital library; as 1 v' P2 C, T5 l6 t% u
well as the script, magazine and book library. * P+ p( P/ W& t0 _

- Sort and catalogue the film, video and digital library 6 Q% A; D$ O0 f6 M$ V5 P4 U- h4 y! s
- Sort and catalogue scripts, magazine and books
6 x8 m* v& Z% h Y6 K/ m- Implement a catalogue template for future use
) O; H) J0 Y( W5 q. F- Update and develop loaning policy and procedure % F1 N( g9 g n, Q
- Enforce FAVA’s standard of use policies where applicable

- Funding for this position is provided by the Summer Temporary Employment Program

% h4 U- s l1 ]- Applicants must be unemployed and attending (or have recently completed) a post-
% ~ n* U8 H& T4 }secondary training, university preferred 4 V" x% q: f& o( ?/ j B( L" r
- Wage is $15.00 per hour, 35 hours per week 6 W, Y8 w& H1 ~- e
- Length of position: 10 consecutive weeks

Qualifications: The ideal candidate will have: . g5 p- E4 y6 a3 ? L6 X
- A passionate interest in film, video and media arts
6 U, @. j# f2 E7 W* p: ^1 r- Strong organizational skills
' i. `5 W# K$ m- d1 T! J4 O3 k- Experience or training in library sciences preferred
! F* \" R6 }9 C0 q% i! n- Exceptional communication skills, written and verbal ! _/ J* a( O% {( W( j8 o% x
- Strong team player abilities
9 I/ K1 f+ i+ ~4 O- Interest in working for an arts organization that is governed by a Board of Directors
