summer of 2009. FAVA is a non-profit, charitable organization whose mandate is to
0 g( d6 }# J1 {. B6 u: Ssupport the production and exhibition of film, video and media artists from Northern
5 w2 K5 a0 A, _+ ?; w5 OAlberta.

FAVA serves members with diverse backgrounds and levels of experience, ranging from
2 i' C+ L' p+ ~# V5 k7 [emerging, mid-range to established artists with an unwavering passion for film, video
2 h! D. F) Y* w$ Hand media art. FAVA offers: a variety of workshops for artistic and skill development; is a
resource for production equipment and post-production facilities; hosts events and
) W  u/ q% W% l# l: m% Wscreenings; and fosters and develops a dynamic media arts community in Northern
Alberta.

Job Description: The Librarian will report to the Executive Director and work with the
FAVA staff by organizing and updating two libraries: the film, video and digital library; as
well as the script, magazine and book library.

Duties:
- Sort and catalogue the film, video and digital library
- Sort and catalogue scripts, magazine and books
- Implement a catalogue template for future use
- Update and develop loaning policy and procedure
: s" P/ f+ W2 Q% D: H- Enforce FAVA’s standard of use policies where applicable

* {5 g0 Z; E1 K3 s$ J4 Y- Funding for this position is provided by the Summer Temporary Employment Program
(STEP)
! Q# D. o5 v9 Z. y- Applicants must be unemployed and attending (or have recently completed) a post-
secondary training, university preferred
- Wage is $15.00 per hour, 35 hours per week
- Length of position: 10 consecutive weeks

$ R( i* R' {( i( k- ZQualifications: The ideal candidate will have:
5 m# ?3 M1 y+ d' E- A passionate interest in film, video and media arts
- Strong organizational skills
- Experience or training in library sciences preferred
- Exceptional communication skills, written and verbal  
- Strong team player abilities
- Interest in working for an arts organization that is governed by a Board of Directors
