FAVA is currently looking for a Librarian to join the FAVA team for 10 weeks in the
' V: I: t4 H, I$ [7 Asummer of 2009. FAVA is a non-profit, charitable organization whose mandate is to
& a4 _% j2 `( Lsupport the production and exhibition of film, video and media artists from Northern

FAVA serves members with diverse backgrounds and levels of experience, ranging from
- l; W' E8 N" |. H8 [emerging, mid-range to established artists with an unwavering passion for film, video
+ i% {5 O3 T( [ P( S X4 X' N3 {and media art. FAVA offers: a variety of workshops for artistic and skill development; is a ) w0 N( I" H I. {$ m' G
resource for production equipment and post-production facilities; hosts events and
+ E/ t/ T+ f% [$ F9 p: H# Yscreenings; and fosters and develops a dynamic media arts community in Northern 7 L* x( |8 E; P; K2 s
Alberta.

3 l* y. o4 z6 _% @" p% a6 `1 d& GJob Description: The Librarian will report to the Executive Director and work with the 6 ]; p6 k3 X( |+ G# t
FAVA staff by organizing and updating two libraries: the film, video and digital library; as 3 r; N) C; k! l& I
well as the script, magazine and book library. 9 A, m: p3 v7 J! K( Z0 }
) ?/ |/ m7 q: w7 e' X% `# a& ?Duties:
& Z. o: p4 |# q* @" v- Sort and catalogue the film, video and digital library
+ n( k1 ^$ z j2 W- Sort and catalogue scripts, magazine and books i$ P, O6 c$ }7 S" J
- Implement a catalogue template for future use
- s0 f# i/ Q3 _* N; m9 q; x- Update and develop loaning policy and procedure
) {" U3 L. U1 k9 p( g4 r+ W3 h- Enforce FAVA’s standard of use policies where applicable

: g. k- l" E/ U- Applicants must be unemployed and attending (or have recently completed) a post-
) G& J" c4 K* xsecondary training, university preferred 6 V, ]0 U7 v t7 B6 `
- Wage is $15.00 per hour, 35 hours per week

Qualifications: The ideal candidate will have: ( {! Z, y% Q% M& Q2 d8 @
- A passionate interest in film, video and media arts 9 P5 R* p8 h; L$ q( E$ k% y
- Strong organizational skills 0 H3 Y. Z4 ?- k
- Experience or training in library sciences preferred

- Interest in working for an arts organization that is governed by a Board of Directors
