summer of 2009. FAVA is a non-profit, charitable organization whose mandate is to
3 l4 H& t* v) xsupport the production and exhibition of film, video and media artists from Northern
Alberta.

" x" g$ ^9 n5 bFAVA serves members with diverse backgrounds and levels of experience, ranging from
! J& ^# m4 E6 r% Q+ Semerging, mid-range to established artists with an unwavering passion for film, video
5 M6 Y7 A. c, g0 A0 Mand media art. FAVA offers: a variety of workshops for artistic and skill development; is a
resource for production equipment and post-production facilities; hosts events and
screenings; and fosters and develops a dynamic media arts community in Northern
: I0 t0 p7 [+ \# a4 ^+ o" XAlberta.

Job Description: The Librarian will report to the Executive Director and work with the
FAVA staff by organizing and updating two libraries: the film, video and digital library; as
well as the script, magazine and book library.

Duties:
- Sort and catalogue the film, video and digital library
" \; l+ ^9 m- Z+ Q6 X, c- Sort and catalogue scripts, magazine and books
7 q; N. s+ K6 B- N  [- Implement a catalogue template for future use
- Update and develop loaning policy and procedure
- Enforce FAVA’s standard of use policies where applicable

Details:
- Funding for this position is provided by the Summer Temporary Employment Program
(STEP)
- Applicants must be unemployed and attending (or have recently completed) a post-
secondary training, university preferred
- @# w5 M2 \0 j' x- Wage is $15.00 per hour, 35 hours per week

- A passionate interest in film, video and media arts
- Strong organizational skills
7 k* N" Z& E, B% P- O- Experience or training in library sciences preferred
- Exceptional communication skills, written and verbal  
- Strong team player abilities
- Interest in working for an arts organization that is governed by a Board of Directors
