FAVA is currently looking for a Librarian to join the FAVA team for 10 weeks in the
summer of 2009. FAVA is a non-profit, charitable organization whose mandate is to
support the production and exhibition of film, video and media artists from Northern
Alberta.

( I4 \" i1 H! ~$ ^  c' R7 W$ f- ZFAVA serves members with diverse backgrounds and levels of experience, ranging from
6 O4 E# ], Z% Temerging, mid-range to established artists with an unwavering passion for film, video
and media art. FAVA offers: a variety of workshops for artistic and skill development; is a
resource for production equipment and post-production facilities; hosts events and
screenings; and fosters and develops a dynamic media arts community in Northern
Alberta.

0 S1 @0 V' K- M( ~5 S) eJob Description: The Librarian will report to the Executive Director and work with the
FAVA staff by organizing and updating two libraries: the film, video and digital library; as
well as the script, magazine and book library.

Duties:
- Sort and catalogue the film, video and digital library
- Sort and catalogue scripts, magazine and books
0 k" L8 k# ?" C; ^" g- Implement a catalogue template for future use
- Update and develop loaning policy and procedure
- Enforce FAVA’s standard of use policies where applicable

- Funding for this position is provided by the Summer Temporary Employment Program
(STEP)
2 F9 @6 d. v8 O0 v! A- Applicants must be unemployed and attending (or have recently completed) a post-
secondary training, university preferred
- Wage is $15.00 per hour, 35 hours per week

- A passionate interest in film, video and media arts

- Experience or training in library sciences preferred
- Exceptional communication skills, written and verbal
