FAVA is currently looking for a Librarian to join the FAVA team for 10 weeks in the - f0 u" L* \4 ^
summer of 2009. FAVA is a non-profit, charitable organization whose mandate is to

FAVA serves members with diverse backgrounds and levels of experience, ranging from
% J. ?1 O v# @, d' hemerging, mid-range to established artists with an unwavering passion for film, video + |: S( P/ g' F# d. W
and media art. FAVA offers: a variety of workshops for artistic and skill development; is a ' _0 l7 D) @* h f; d8 e- L' u7 ?1 N6 M
resource for production equipment and post-production facilities; hosts events and
# v+ W3 V# ]; }. Z! G5 n6 N6 Q# Vscreenings; and fosters and develops a dynamic media arts community in Northern

Job Description: The Librarian will report to the Executive Director and work with the 0 Y9 J$ r y4 E, l/ g% C
FAVA staff by organizing and updating two libraries: the film, video and digital library; as
/ u0 G9 z* e6 q5 v* uwell as the script, magazine and book library. & [9 w' v0 I+ P( c9 D
) ~( g3 }' Q" L/ {! G. sDuties:
9 y+ o% {& b5 q- Sort and catalogue the film, video and digital library
8 m1 Y0 m' j, A; |1 F; i- Sort and catalogue scripts, magazine and books
# h# @8 _7 l2 q4 @3 `' x8 t- Implement a catalogue template for future use ( K4 S6 V7 `, _% G8 |
- Update and develop loaning policy and procedure
2 H: W D9 m% C- Enforce FAVA’s standard of use policies where applicable

- Funding for this position is provided by the Summer Temporary Employment Program 3 s! N( y9 I5 P5 X$ S

- Applicants must be unemployed and attending (or have recently completed) a post-7 t2 c0 F' B- [3 X: }% _: e
secondary training, university preferred 5 u; E* G/ K% E' W U
- Wage is $15.00 per hour, 35 hours per week - E- \0 A6 p! X9 O6 c5 r {
- Length of position: 10 consecutive weeks 8 A+ c3 v' ^' N# j! A7 @1 \! `

- A passionate interest in film, video and media arts " [. t1 O% u& @, q' t) n
- Strong organizational skills 0 V8 G8 E3 B9 d% m4 g
- Experience or training in library sciences preferred
