summer of 2009. FAVA is a non-profit, charitable organization whose mandate is to $ {7 a0 g! c3 f+ J3 c
support the production and exhibition of film, video and media artists from Northern

' b: \6 { c- Z- ]/ c S; J4 @FAVA serves members with diverse backgrounds and levels of experience, ranging from $ x' `, Z$ c, ?5 f9 w
emerging, mid-range to established artists with an unwavering passion for film, video : I8 U1 X0 o: A/ U+ P4 r
and media art. FAVA offers: a variety of workshops for artistic and skill development; is a 5 n0 u6 z6 O+ [$ Z* A) I, D
resource for production equipment and post-production facilities; hosts events and 5 i* c* o3 r5 E" @9 K& N+ F/ n. _9 o
screenings; and fosters and develops a dynamic media arts community in Northern / V m+ C( ^8 y7 G8 E9 w

Job Description: The Librarian will report to the Executive Director and work with the ; n8 {4 I1 A3 N& z$ w6 y* v
FAVA staff by organizing and updating two libraries: the film, video and digital library; as
$ W4 x8 z7 Z3 T) N: }& o4 G0 \, P) ?well as the script, magazine and book library. 5 q; Z& X1 ^% G

Duties: % J) E( i: d; T$ ~
- Sort and catalogue the film, video and digital library
: [4 F: P1 S2 {- Sort and catalogue scripts, magazine and books
- p/ n9 _9 @5 e+ |' m/ {- Implement a catalogue template for future use
0 y. c; g* N3 ?9 |" C+ V- Update and develop loaning policy and procedure
. c: I# y% ^+ x, B- Enforce FAVA’s standard of use policies where applicable

- Applicants must be unemployed and attending (or have recently completed) a post-+ Z1 H2 }3 q- P! C. |! J
secondary training, university preferred

- Length of position: 10 consecutive weeks

Qualifications: The ideal candidate will have:
5 s/ o( k1 |: W- A passionate interest in film, video and media arts
$ @/ D! I t( d) v- Strong organizational skills
& d7 A5 t5 B, U9 v8 a5 M- Experience or training in library sciences preferred
% z. Z+ }# K7 M, S: L/ Q& @3 S- Exceptional communication skills, written and verbal ( t1 R) f* p* D8 q0 `1 Q# b
- Strong team player abilities
