FAVA is currently looking for a Librarian to join the FAVA team for 10 weeks in the
& O* k U1 P3 U) msummer of 2009. FAVA is a non-profit, charitable organization whose mandate is to " [3 G, M- Q6 s$ l! O- [
support the production and exhibition of film, video and media artists from Northern , d' j+ \7 ^ j R$ ~! U
Alberta.

FAVA serves members with diverse backgrounds and levels of experience, ranging from

and media art. FAVA offers: a variety of workshops for artistic and skill development; is a
* ^- \" I& D' k1 Nresource for production equipment and post-production facilities; hosts events and
$ Z7 D. X/ t. [6 Z; j5 m* cscreenings; and fosters and develops a dynamic media arts community in Northern 7 Z8 Y; o/ c" Q# \. v- j

Job Description: The Librarian will report to the Executive Director and work with the
& {1 D2 ^$ O) M3 N5 pFAVA staff by organizing and updating two libraries: the film, video and digital library; as
% f8 P) U, F" _well as the script, magazine and book library. " }, a/ ` Q, |7 G! r* Z4 x
2 a+ p2 L: T+ i* U* ~# R4 zDuties:
9 r' }) F; x& @4 u. v, \% X- Sort and catalogue the film, video and digital library
& U+ d; f2 ]1 d+ V* i. ~, f- Sort and catalogue scripts, magazine and books
( h) ~4 C/ h* X% P4 y8 g& M& r- Implement a catalogue template for future use
5 D, r' V" q' g; x1 W5 d- V- Update and develop loaning policy and procedure 3 Q- x# D/ ^+ F& C
- Enforce FAVA’s standard of use policies where applicable

- Strong organizational skills - o' b4 [6 a6 r
- Experience or training in library sciences preferred
