FAVA is currently looking for a Librarian to join the FAVA team for 10 weeks in the 2 ]: P6 f- x1 ?9 t
summer of 2009. FAVA is a non-profit, charitable organization whose mandate is to
! ]7 P! V& b9 w$ o6 R X8 @support the production and exhibition of film, video and media artists from Northern

emerging, mid-range to established artists with an unwavering passion for film, video
0 s* n( G- E3 n* nand media art. FAVA offers: a variety of workshops for artistic and skill development; is a
0 ]& [( g" ?! y* L. Z- Kresource for production equipment and post-production facilities; hosts events and

/ P) r& e+ F! }Job Description: The Librarian will report to the Executive Director and work with the , N) [" @+ t3 A- F5 {( b
FAVA staff by organizing and updating two libraries: the film, video and digital library; as # {. G: U. q" b( v& @$ K* K
well as the script, magazine and book library. " H H5 ~* X! Y8 x6 R

- Sort and catalogue the film, video and digital library
. L B$ X* |' M7 b) z$ M- Sort and catalogue scripts, magazine and books # x3 U% \! D7 g6 X+ u
- Implement a catalogue template for future use 8 d) z( g U3 i- e! I4 f3 h
- Update and develop loaning policy and procedure - K; k/ I7 C4 ]- r0 [' I$ k
- Enforce FAVA’s standard of use policies where applicable

- Applicants must be unemployed and attending (or have recently completed) a post-" F, l5 N" v% h' C* c+ ?" a. s; g
secondary training, university preferred % L8 k# J' z1 Q3 O) s( f
- Wage is $15.00 per hour, 35 hours per week

Qualifications: The ideal candidate will have:

- Experience or training in library sciences preferred 1 ~- }0 e* {' u" k% [: M
- Exceptional communication skills, written and verbal
