FAVA is currently looking for a Librarian to join the FAVA team for 10 weeks in the , n) P+ g& W4 W# X2 ? O
summer of 2009. FAVA is a non-profit, charitable organization whose mandate is to 1 E! ~ |) v* c/ E
support the production and exhibition of film, video and media artists from Northern 6 a1 @" f4 B9 [. H' T: {; q5 Z

FAVA serves members with diverse backgrounds and levels of experience, ranging from S0 F: u+ b8 S1 U& N+ b
emerging, mid-range to established artists with an unwavering passion for film, video

resource for production equipment and post-production facilities; hosts events and

5 U N4 x7 ~" b, W0 S; ~9 BJob Description: The Librarian will report to the Executive Director and work with the * H$ h( ]/ i# X3 q% I
FAVA staff by organizing and updating two libraries: the film, video and digital library; as $ I( [ O7 g x( |' d" \- {
well as the script, magazine and book library. : T0 E, T5 j( G3 g7 s

Duties: ) X- r9 X& w8 f3 V! Q3 {, z/ P( e
- Sort and catalogue the film, video and digital library ! ?5 h9 a0 N8 M+ g8 J
- Sort and catalogue scripts, magazine and books
7 d1 a; i( [8 {% @+ g' r$ C4 p- Implement a catalogue template for future use 8 Z+ g( i- A2 D! T& I2 M
- Update and develop loaning policy and procedure 2 K0 o- ?4 A& n9 v; ^ Q8 m/ B, T4 F
- Enforce FAVA’s standard of use policies where applicable

- Applicants must be unemployed and attending (or have recently completed) a post-# @; W* k! ^' X/ Q$ H& X7 F: k |
secondary training, university preferred

- Length of position: 10 consecutive weeks

Qualifications: The ideal candidate will have:
- @& Q- m' Q2 X8 V4 G a5 @0 G- A passionate interest in film, video and media arts
* m8 |9 Y; o. g- Strong organizational skills
4 [# O' U: o: J- Experience or training in library sciences preferred 9 F, k: |! L) b7 G3 W7 P
- Exceptional communication skills, written and verbal , q9 e& D& p0 w' a: a( u
- Strong team player abilities
2 a3 ~6 L1 F9 d( \8 x7 k6 F- Interest in working for an arts organization that is governed by a Board of Directors
