FAVA is currently looking for a Librarian to join the FAVA team for 10 weeks in the
6 @* F1 t0 a& x( [& Dsummer of 2009. FAVA is a non-profit, charitable organization whose mandate is to
% v: u( M. x7 Msupport the production and exhibition of film, video and media artists from Northern 5 M1 I; p* M) B) q6 Z n% e
Alberta.

FAVA serves members with diverse backgrounds and levels of experience, ranging from
/ [; Q+ M2 v# l2 t1 x2 B* uemerging, mid-range to established artists with an unwavering passion for film, video 2 g) `: A+ \1 y6 T, a+ A3 e) m5 b
and media art. FAVA offers: a variety of workshops for artistic and skill development; is a
: i! ]$ J, k. L' c& z2 kresource for production equipment and post-production facilities; hosts events and
/ I6 H5 ]" X$ N* e0 N3 |screenings; and fosters and develops a dynamic media arts community in Northern " V1 D2 @& i$ e- s# D' {# \

! O8 n0 c' Q# [, @( `; u3 U8 ?Job Description: The Librarian will report to the Executive Director and work with the
( W: m) @2 ~& S5 G& C+ RFAVA staff by organizing and updating two libraries: the film, video and digital library; as - w5 P) u, n' A
well as the script, magazine and book library. / [8 h# W4 G- ^7 C, C8 j

- Sort and catalogue the film, video and digital library . w B' `7 o: E
- Sort and catalogue scripts, magazine and books
% \( J% L* r) N4 L+ E, }0 ?- Implement a catalogue template for future use
Z' O# a: j y! u# c, Y/ F- Update and develop loaning policy and procedure 7 m N8 N2 q9 ?8 i, {% y; V
- Enforce FAVA’s standard of use policies where applicable 9 p" U9 D, [- T

- Funding for this position is provided by the Summer Temporary Employment Program

- Applicants must be unemployed and attending (or have recently completed) a post-
* V/ K0 |$ d D4 `" d8 F/ h9 K$ ~secondary training, university preferred

Qualifications: The ideal candidate will have: 3 d& W$ ^# v4 x1 Y
- A passionate interest in film, video and media arts
2 x- ~) r* c0 H2 h7 }: e k/ O- Strong organizational skills

- Exceptional communication skills, written and verbal
