FAVA is currently looking for a Librarian to join the FAVA team for 10 weeks in the
8 D% a% Y+ q1 [1 x, Rsummer of 2009. FAVA is a non-profit, charitable organization whose mandate is to
support the production and exhibition of film, video and media artists from Northern
Alberta.

% o( `, Q- V- QFAVA serves members with diverse backgrounds and levels of experience, ranging from
6 Q% r+ A; @5 A5 Kemerging, mid-range to established artists with an unwavering passion for film, video
$ \- Q4 p1 M' u% land media art. FAVA offers: a variety of workshops for artistic and skill development; is a
resource for production equipment and post-production facilities; hosts events and
screenings; and fosters and develops a dynamic media arts community in Northern
; N. i( C( T3 e5 H7 D1 V; F4 oAlberta.

  D) M( o8 F+ s: MJob Description: The Librarian will report to the Executive Director and work with the
FAVA staff by organizing and updating two libraries: the film, video and digital library; as
# r3 G& D8 R* a( S) t( D4 }2 cwell as the script, magazine and book library.

Duties:
, H$ a, E8 B; |* R/ t: {8 z8 G- Sort and catalogue the film, video and digital library
( u8 e) y1 ?) S& y8 u! A- Sort and catalogue scripts, magazine and books
- Implement a catalogue template for future use
- Update and develop loaning policy and procedure
- Enforce FAVA’s standard of use policies where applicable

(STEP)
- Applicants must be unemployed and attending (or have recently completed) a post-

  G& m1 ?$ X3 |, P- Wage is $15.00 per hour, 35 hours per week
- Length of position: 10 consecutive weeks

Qualifications: The ideal candidate will have:
+ k) E6 [( p* \2 G- A passionate interest in film, video and media arts
- Strong organizational skills
- Experience or training in library sciences preferred
- Exceptional communication skills, written and verbal

- Interest in working for an arts organization that is governed by a Board of Directors
