support the production and exhibition of film, video and media artists from Northern % E! P9 ?0 E4 E1 X4 C8 U3 B

FAVA serves members with diverse backgrounds and levels of experience, ranging from * o% v9 ^ U# y* z, V, O- V
emerging, mid-range to established artists with an unwavering passion for film, video . l |/ N$ W3 C
and media art. FAVA offers: a variety of workshops for artistic and skill development; is a . O+ J8 J* t I/ p1 f4 v
resource for production equipment and post-production facilities; hosts events and " r J6 |, j% t8 o* G
screenings; and fosters and develops a dynamic media arts community in Northern

Job Description: The Librarian will report to the Executive Director and work with the
' o, o8 A3 Z- I) k' B' `. {FAVA staff by organizing and updating two libraries: the film, video and digital library; as 7 B- G- N( @+ n# f' ?
well as the script, magazine and book library. " B" S0 Y7 a) \/ G1 Z5 W& t

Duties: ) F6 i( R9 S% ?3 J# i |5 ]7 Q
- Sort and catalogue the film, video and digital library
6 Y, e2 Z. E, q5 D- Sort and catalogue scripts, magazine and books
~) ?7 ~- X: O$ h$ @7 q: X! V- Implement a catalogue template for future use
0 b* z$ l) k" N' F- Update and develop loaning policy and procedure 5 W5 ~& X `0 }+ ^0 x2 p
- Enforce FAVA’s standard of use policies where applicable : U. [+ ]1 }) l5 @

- Applicants must be unemployed and attending (or have recently completed) a post-+ }9 c3 F( x+ _" ^- b
secondary training, university preferred

- Length of position: 10 consecutive weeks

Qualifications: The ideal candidate will have: / o U* L& p9 v4 m
- A passionate interest in film, video and media arts ' k. I, r0 C5 o
- Strong organizational skills
/ o$ \. L$ s/ l2 _! W5 i- Experience or training in library sciences preferred
