FAVA is currently looking for a Librarian to join the FAVA team for 10 weeks in the
5 A" P) W. G5 psummer of 2009. FAVA is a non-profit, charitable organization whose mandate is to 4 r& Y+ j6 W6 D" p+ W
support the production and exhibition of film, video and media artists from Northern

FAVA serves members with diverse backgrounds and levels of experience, ranging from
& J. U [8 o, Q; ?( memerging, mid-range to established artists with an unwavering passion for film, video
; b8 M& J4 c( S* a" g: W0 E5 nand media art. FAVA offers: a variety of workshops for artistic and skill development; is a
; F: Q; s1 a' y* A8 q- iresource for production equipment and post-production facilities; hosts events and 6 j i, W6 Z% f/ K' n3 A- a
screenings; and fosters and develops a dynamic media arts community in Northern

+ ?" v& D. o4 g0 }Job Description: The Librarian will report to the Executive Director and work with the
5 q, A! d5 q! j1 VFAVA staff by organizing and updating two libraries: the film, video and digital library; as
0 u' l* O n# G2 l. O7 ^well as the script, magazine and book library.

- Implement a catalogue template for future use
- w3 I, d$ d* q- Update and develop loaning policy and procedure 7 s* V) Q1 Z" c9 R- M
- Enforce FAVA’s standard of use policies where applicable # H2 ]2 L% D, z3 v5 ~

- Applicants must be unemployed and attending (or have recently completed) a post-

Qualifications: The ideal candidate will have: / O4 B+ H5 v9 ]( M* g8 J2 b
- A passionate interest in film, video and media arts ! W P" b3 j; J% _; X/ l
- Strong organizational skills
: M r( y( C0 u8 Z- Experience or training in library sciences preferred

- Interest in working for an arts organization that is governed by a Board of Directors
