summer of 2009. FAVA is a non-profit, charitable organization whose mandate is to
+ C Y8 C2 j" A) c" {6 m$ K9 @support the production and exhibition of film, video and media artists from Northern

FAVA serves members with diverse backgrounds and levels of experience, ranging from 1 x8 M2 Y" T* c1 e2 C3 E2 v5 q6 e
emerging, mid-range to established artists with an unwavering passion for film, video 3 J1 j$ i. R" c" i$ l. x
and media art. FAVA offers: a variety of workshops for artistic and skill development; is a # s+ y* g$ W, F
resource for production equipment and post-production facilities; hosts events and ! S# Q9 I( z/ Z: f, o
screenings; and fosters and develops a dynamic media arts community in Northern

Job Description: The Librarian will report to the Executive Director and work with the 6 O$ T+ ~3 y1 p( A- v& [% U
FAVA staff by organizing and updating two libraries: the film, video and digital library; as 4 x4 q1 n( C, A v9 n& G
well as the script, magazine and book library.

Duties:
9 v0 d4 J8 E4 x ?5 u- Sort and catalogue the film, video and digital library
! v+ Y q/ w7 Q2 w! ^9 y2 G- Sort and catalogue scripts, magazine and books
" E1 |! O# O2 f- ?! v) X8 Y4 f- Implement a catalogue template for future use
& v0 E- I' b0 Y8 t5 z4 X0 K- Update and develop loaning policy and procedure ! e, V4 J# W) ]% U& M ^2 D5 F6 f/ n! w
- Enforce FAVA’s standard of use policies where applicable

- Wage is $15.00 per hour, 35 hours per week

Qualifications: The ideal candidate will have:
7 v+ u( X% p. ~; [5 k- A passionate interest in film, video and media arts
+ ~2 I! E, V! Y& g% k% T- Strong organizational skills 4 D8 n$ G( o! E8 {' r9 K6 w
- Experience or training in library sciences preferred - k: Z5 l: s/ H0 q8 b2 F
- Exceptional communication skills, written and verbal
