+ o# K. W7 G9 S9 u5 `, b; ~FAVA is currently looking for a Librarian to join the FAVA team for 10 weeks in the
+ Q, K/ A* g5 t& D: v, P4 Isummer of 2009. FAVA is a non-profit, charitable organization whose mandate is to
0 h; q' d  m- ~2 S' Wsupport the production and exhibition of film, video and media artists from Northern
5 \& ~" d2 d4 iAlberta.

9 P- r9 l9 A1 s- X( zFAVA serves members with diverse backgrounds and levels of experience, ranging from
9 Z; O" a0 ]9 O9 a- ^, L; ?emerging, mid-range to established artists with an unwavering passion for film, video
and media art. FAVA offers: a variety of workshops for artistic and skill development; is a
resource for production equipment and post-production facilities; hosts events and
% h& j4 N9 K) D6 d6 Kscreenings; and fosters and develops a dynamic media arts community in Northern
1 J! R) @6 h! W' e# ?Alberta.

Job Description: The Librarian will report to the Executive Director and work with the
0 l+ d; J% n6 O6 Z! H' H  N  b: ]FAVA staff by organizing and updating two libraries: the film, video and digital library; as
well as the script, magazine and book library.

3 O1 n6 T+ O  _! iDuties:
) T& V. ~' |3 T/ J, Y2 u( e2 a- Sort and catalogue the film, video and digital library
1 n2 x( U/ M, _3 E- Sort and catalogue scripts, magazine and books
- Implement a catalogue template for future use
! I+ S3 J7 D$ [" l( Y' Z- Update and develop loaning policy and procedure
- Enforce FAVA’s standard of use policies where applicable

(STEP)
- Applicants must be unemployed and attending (or have recently completed) a post-

- Wage is $15.00 per hour, 35 hours per week
- Length of position: 10 consecutive weeks

Qualifications: The ideal candidate will have:
- z& x. }6 u; a# v. Z! `+ a0 A- A passionate interest in film, video and media arts
/ P2 {9 K3 T. H- J5 \- Strong organizational skills
; w0 s: H# D' w% n4 B- Experience or training in library sciences preferred
- Exceptional communication skills, written and verbal  
- Strong team player abilities
' p5 x/ B0 N- v0 E1 G6 T- Interest in working for an arts organization that is governed by a Board of Directors

I have 3 years librarian expeirence in U of A, and believe I can fit in this postion perfectly.
