FAVA is currently looking for a Librarian to join the FAVA team for 10 weeks in the
$ r5 s4 N* ^6 G- rsummer of 2009. FAVA is a non-profit, charitable organization whose mandate is to
c$ q! ^7 W# j. {7 \support the production and exhibition of film, video and media artists from Northern 6 r2 Z- }2 X3 ^7 o5 y
Alberta. # I, A% ?5 f( [* h0 j

FAVA serves members with diverse backgrounds and levels of experience, ranging from
1 q0 C) u$ O3 j+ \. s4 U6 M2 hemerging, mid-range to established artists with an unwavering passion for film, video / m& V+ m- D- S( h4 D2 {
and media art. FAVA offers: a variety of workshops for artistic and skill development; is a - i9 A2 J$ @3 W7 j* }
resource for production equipment and post-production facilities; hosts events and

Job Description: The Librarian will report to the Executive Director and work with the 7 P2 `: b, z) H/ H; H. D8 f; L
FAVA staff by organizing and updating two libraries: the film, video and digital library; as
7 Y' h0 f0 I" f3 Cwell as the script, magazine and book library. : N! x: E, }3 t W: \$ f
1 x2 d: c- `2 | N+ D' \Duties: 1 w6 r8 Z4 T+ L/ o: z
- Sort and catalogue the film, video and digital library 1 R5 a) K) D' |* S5 ?' l
- Sort and catalogue scripts, magazine and books
3 R% p3 t; }0 i) }1 i- I. ~3 X+ Z- l- Implement a catalogue template for future use # [( a: S4 m3 R+ w% K' k6 d
- Update and develop loaning policy and procedure
$ z) t# L) [. _2 W, \6 b- Enforce FAVA’s standard of use policies where applicable

secondary training, university preferred

- Length of position: 10 consecutive weeks

Qualifications: The ideal candidate will have:
; G/ m5 O4 R! _0 k. u$ m' |: R- A passionate interest in film, video and media arts
9 `: F0 s2 |3 `( f4 k+ G- Strong organizational skills

- Exceptional communication skills, written and verbal _& `2 [+ @4 M9 t) ^9 G3 ?
- Strong team player abilities
