FAVA is currently looking for a Librarian to join the FAVA team for 10 weeks in the 8 d$ O9 h6 C2 h& C6 p m' V5 r
summer of 2009. FAVA is a non-profit, charitable organization whose mandate is to
* x4 T! s& S, L& s7 m0 Ssupport the production and exhibition of film, video and media artists from Northern

FAVA serves members with diverse backgrounds and levels of experience, ranging from 5 ~% H3 s( ` T3 L7 {3 N1 F2 K2 E
emerging, mid-range to established artists with an unwavering passion for film, video
o+ H2 ]) i& L- l# W8 x0 Mand media art. FAVA offers: a variety of workshops for artistic and skill development; is a 4 ?% R! X: P F* k* I- T
resource for production equipment and post-production facilities; hosts events and ' ]; f3 a7 K8 c% o+ v" j
screenings; and fosters and develops a dynamic media arts community in Northern

+ j' P' e9 `* ^Job Description: The Librarian will report to the Executive Director and work with the
M9 e& p( W& S2 [FAVA staff by organizing and updating two libraries: the film, video and digital library; as
a" i$ x) N7 \4 N3 R/ O) Uwell as the script, magazine and book library. 0 \) d8 ^7 R& E4 ~9 h

Duties:
3 o2 h' ^6 C9 g- l: ^- Sort and catalogue the film, video and digital library / Z9 ~4 [' P5 y" I. m
- Sort and catalogue scripts, magazine and books
C- M2 l% u7 b+ l: F- h- Implement a catalogue template for future use
0 }- C" Z, B4 H$ D- Update and develop loaning policy and procedure 4 X) b, E/ i/ `1 I# u3 k6 v3 @
- Enforce FAVA’s standard of use policies where applicable

Qualifications: The ideal candidate will have: ( X* D+ M, e! s% t: k
- A passionate interest in film, video and media arts + O. A1 R8 n( v7 n% }" O* a
- Strong organizational skills 6 M1 p @; {7 B: U
- Experience or training in library sciences preferred , h' L# l! D' D/ @7 q" u' x) k7 D4 A+ [
- Exceptional communication skills, written and verbal

- Interest in working for an arts organization that is governed by a Board of Directors
