3 T4 ^- e' Y/ A' W  U$ R7 }FAVA is currently looking for a Librarian to join the FAVA team for 10 weeks in the
summer of 2009. FAVA is a non-profit, charitable organization whose mandate is to
* j3 g* z2 J9 B$ [$ }% Osupport the production and exhibition of film, video and media artists from Northern
Alberta.

FAVA serves members with diverse backgrounds and levels of experience, ranging from
emerging, mid-range to established artists with an unwavering passion for film, video
and media art. FAVA offers: a variety of workshops for artistic and skill development; is a
resource for production equipment and post-production facilities; hosts events and
screenings; and fosters and develops a dynamic media arts community in Northern
Alberta.

Job Description: The Librarian will report to the Executive Director and work with the
3 s8 S+ v4 Z- e: N& m! WFAVA staff by organizing and updating two libraries: the film, video and digital library; as
well as the script, magazine and book library.

Duties:
- Sort and catalogue the film, video and digital library
- Sort and catalogue scripts, magazine and books
- Implement a catalogue template for future use
# H0 O, m/ e8 T$ Q3 P- Update and develop loaning policy and procedure
; K6 r3 p- ]4 k' e1 k& y- Enforce FAVA’s standard of use policies where applicable

Details:
- Funding for this position is provided by the Summer Temporary Employment Program
( C* B" {1 {! Y, z, w- A5 T  a(STEP)
- Applicants must be unemployed and attending (or have recently completed) a post-
secondary training, university preferred
- Wage is $15.00 per hour, 35 hours per week

- Strong organizational skills

$ n6 w+ t2 ]# O4 r6 v- Interest in working for an arts organization that is governed by a Board of Directors
