! R! \/ z, }  [5 p; V; ?) ]5 KFAVA is currently looking for a Librarian to join the FAVA team for 10 weeks in the
summer of 2009. FAVA is a non-profit, charitable organization whose mandate is to
support the production and exhibition of film, video and media artists from Northern
1 b$ E! g6 f9 a$ c* @1 ^: ^+ T3 YAlberta.

+ K# U( m7 Z4 G0 ^FAVA serves members with diverse backgrounds and levels of experience, ranging from
: \- I, s; N, k- demerging, mid-range to established artists with an unwavering passion for film, video
  m7 f0 y% S8 E' hand media art. FAVA offers: a variety of workshops for artistic and skill development; is a
resource for production equipment and post-production facilities; hosts events and
9 [( W& g+ ?$ }; I/ B/ Qscreenings; and fosters and develops a dynamic media arts community in Northern
Alberta.

5 D; S. i5 J9 t+ G6 KJob Description: The Librarian will report to the Executive Director and work with the
FAVA staff by organizing and updating two libraries: the film, video and digital library; as
well as the script, magazine and book library.

/ B  S) z1 K0 v0 p/ `) dDuties:
- Sort and catalogue the film, video and digital library
- Sort and catalogue scripts, magazine and books
/ A  O1 V! i" l+ K: p4 d9 X- Implement a catalogue template for future use
- Update and develop loaning policy and procedure
- Enforce FAVA’s standard of use policies where applicable

! `6 v$ X0 W5 H; I% K- Funding for this position is provided by the Summer Temporary Employment Program
(STEP)
- Applicants must be unemployed and attending (or have recently completed) a post-
secondary training, university preferred
- Wage is $15.00 per hour, 35 hours per week
( ]& \! I; r7 L& v2 F. e1 r' I- Length of position: 10 consecutive weeks

Qualifications: The ideal candidate will have:
- A passionate interest in film, video and media arts
- Strong organizational skills
- Experience or training in library sciences preferred
# X9 L0 O5 L" d# ~# a( w1 z- Exceptional communication skills, written and verbal  
- Strong team player abilities
- Interest in working for an arts organization that is governed by a Board of Directors

I have 3 years librarian expeirence in U of A, and believe I can fit in this postion perfectly.
