FAVA is currently looking for a Librarian to join the FAVA team for 10 weeks in the
; Q2 V- `$ H9 S4 N4 V1 x, Vsummer of 2009. FAVA is a non-profit, charitable organization whose mandate is to ! \5 o/ E- g6 {' b; ]+ ]1 {
support the production and exhibition of film, video and media artists from Northern

FAVA serves members with diverse backgrounds and levels of experience, ranging from " \9 |8 O% Z5 p6 {/ \; q
emerging, mid-range to established artists with an unwavering passion for film, video ; [- o" J: l2 s. _. k& Z
and media art. FAVA offers: a variety of workshops for artistic and skill development; is a
8 d* O% R7 S+ H* g. i2 lresource for production equipment and post-production facilities; hosts events and
/ h+ h% X) f0 m8 sscreenings; and fosters and develops a dynamic media arts community in Northern

# x3 U+ g6 O4 C Q% i) nJob Description: The Librarian will report to the Executive Director and work with the
5 s$ ~. ?1 }, mFAVA staff by organizing and updating two libraries: the film, video and digital library; as

- Sort and catalogue the film, video and digital library
* v( k7 f* k, B5 l4 e9 g- Sort and catalogue scripts, magazine and books , P. ?* \: l0 g- `
- Implement a catalogue template for future use
2 u4 U4 }; k9 T1 A4 q8 y" D- Update and develop loaning policy and procedure
7 a3 A) Q# v5 q- Enforce FAVA’s standard of use policies where applicable ( v% U1 z$ ~8 \! B; U# p

- Applicants must be unemployed and attending (or have recently completed) a post-! i) ]7 R# U% A Z9 d
secondary training, university preferred % T, J! w2 _# J/ p2 J0 h
- Wage is $15.00 per hour, 35 hours per week

- A passionate interest in film, video and media arts : {* Z- X& [. ^8 z7 h S' R
- Strong organizational skills
( t, e( Y2 O; W; r b: J$ x# h0 B- Experience or training in library sciences preferred ( Y" ~" y3 {: a9 N
- Exceptional communication skills, written and verbal ( [% \" L/ J( B1 @, z5 l2 ?
- Strong team player abilities
