FAVA is currently looking for a Librarian to join the FAVA team for 10 weeks in the
# K* y5 p" h& f3 u+ u# p Lsummer of 2009. FAVA is a non-profit, charitable organization whose mandate is to

FAVA serves members with diverse backgrounds and levels of experience, ranging from
( \2 ~$ I2 L: i/ Gemerging, mid-range to established artists with an unwavering passion for film, video
5 `% d4 O1 u) T0 j. F- O" \0 oand media art. FAVA offers: a variety of workshops for artistic and skill development; is a

screenings; and fosters and develops a dynamic media arts community in Northern % t5 k+ v0 I' n9 ?

5 s' F* D8 A& L) T0 QJob Description: The Librarian will report to the Executive Director and work with the 5 ~/ A0 F& P) I+ ~& Y9 _
FAVA staff by organizing and updating two libraries: the film, video and digital library; as ) m8 L' A; W+ H: L7 D
well as the script, magazine and book library. 8 ?* U6 l' B9 a- E. r
$ P$ s3 W6 \7 J& _Duties: 2 h; _8 N. V7 h1 w6 w c
- Sort and catalogue the film, video and digital library ; K/ U ]" Z8 _
- Sort and catalogue scripts, magazine and books
- M* K7 W1 ?9 n9 h% ?$ P& U- Implement a catalogue template for future use
5 w1 X$ Q2 g) K* P& ^$ e% j! g- Update and develop loaning policy and procedure ; R- l- ]( n, i0 a7 H' y7 |# e
- Enforce FAVA’s standard of use policies where applicable 0 Z& M& B9 ^" s4 ]" h

Qualifications: The ideal candidate will have:

" b$ C$ o' \( R( F1 n- O2 X7 }7 P* H- Strong organizational skills
7 U7 L5 I$ c3 b X9 e- Experience or training in library sciences preferred
