FAVA is currently looking for a Librarian to join the FAVA team for 10 weeks in the
summer of 2009. FAVA is a non-profit, charitable organization whose mandate is to
support the production and exhibition of film, video and media artists from Northern
, n' q  H& u6 v/ E. v  J. @+ hAlberta.

FAVA serves members with diverse backgrounds and levels of experience, ranging from
emerging, mid-range to established artists with an unwavering passion for film, video
and media art. FAVA offers: a variety of workshops for artistic and skill development; is a
resource for production equipment and post-production facilities; hosts events and
1 k2 G6 w: x$ |; G/ I; Mscreenings; and fosters and develops a dynamic media arts community in Northern
Alberta.

Job Description: The Librarian will report to the Executive Director and work with the
FAVA staff by organizing and updating two libraries: the film, video and digital library; as
well as the script, magazine and book library.

) X% s/ H& N1 x" X. O/ u* V+ A" uDuties:
/ n+ m+ @; M1 q2 {0 Y5 [( J9 Z- Sort and catalogue the film, video and digital library
- Sort and catalogue scripts, magazine and books
9 n. w2 a& @5 Z, V- Implement a catalogue template for future use
- Update and develop loaning policy and procedure
- Enforce FAVA’s standard of use policies where applicable

- Funding for this position is provided by the Summer Temporary Employment Program

- Applicants must be unemployed and attending (or have recently completed) a post-
secondary training, university preferred
- Wage is $15.00 per hour, 35 hours per week

- A passionate interest in film, video and media arts
# T* r7 u2 [1 ^. w! \: Z0 }) ?- Strong organizational skills
: R8 _  ^  `: c% J7 a" d5 T( ?- Experience or training in library sciences preferred
- Exceptional communication skills, written and verbal  
3 ^8 B5 Z$ Z* Y8 b/ h- Strong team player abilities
- Interest in working for an arts organization that is governed by a Board of Directors
