2 \) w: J9 }* ~* ]" @+ |FAVA is currently looking for a Librarian to join the FAVA team for 10 weeks in the
summer of 2009. FAVA is a non-profit, charitable organization whose mandate is to
! _7 Z  y2 t  ?$ B- Isupport the production and exhibition of film, video and media artists from Northern
Alberta.

+ I: ]. b- M( w6 p+ eFAVA serves members with diverse backgrounds and levels of experience, ranging from
emerging, mid-range to established artists with an unwavering passion for film, video
and media art. FAVA offers: a variety of workshops for artistic and skill development; is a
: J5 p& `6 a- X* P9 r7 Mresource for production equipment and post-production facilities; hosts events and
screenings; and fosters and develops a dynamic media arts community in Northern
Alberta.

2 A& [+ D# n1 |4 M. kJob Description: The Librarian will report to the Executive Director and work with the
FAVA staff by organizing and updating two libraries: the film, video and digital library; as
. Q+ L+ O" {& y" ?5 T! c- Owell as the script, magazine and book library.

Duties:
9 y, z' q$ w: w' e- Sort and catalogue the film, video and digital library
, y# v) c1 F) U* }' Q4 P- Sort and catalogue scripts, magazine and books
- Implement a catalogue template for future use
- Update and develop loaning policy and procedure
- Enforce FAVA’s standard of use policies where applicable

(STEP)
- Applicants must be unemployed and attending (or have recently completed) a post-

- Wage is $15.00 per hour, 35 hours per week
- Length of position: 10 consecutive weeks

Qualifications: The ideal candidate will have:
- z8 m2 \- c4 l5 f' g6 d- A passionate interest in film, video and media arts
- Strong organizational skills
- Experience or training in library sciences preferred
' {/ }+ ?, f% y" ]) e- Exceptional communication skills, written and verbal  
. V- S' [, J9 P2 C5 z) ?- Strong team player abilities
