FAVA is currently looking for a Librarian to join the FAVA team for 10 weeks in the
' Z/ @1 F5 [( }' ^summer of 2009. FAVA is a non-profit, charitable organization whose mandate is to ( K8 d; C `( l6 D% d% I0 Q
support the production and exhibition of film, video and media artists from Northern
. Z& q0 T# }$ A( ?3 W3 rAlberta.

0 V! V! F& i, j$ v# b$ _FAVA serves members with diverse backgrounds and levels of experience, ranging from + @9 Q2 @" Q8 `. l. R+ Z
emerging, mid-range to established artists with an unwavering passion for film, video 4 B, c* d% J' [! u( s
and media art. FAVA offers: a variety of workshops for artistic and skill development; is a , n1 T t# s; f7 E; \5 m
resource for production equipment and post-production facilities; hosts events and , y6 T2 b( n% E4 W
screenings; and fosters and develops a dynamic media arts community in Northern 8 c( n3 t4 w9 o/ W
Alberta.

Job Description: The Librarian will report to the Executive Director and work with the
6 t. j* E2 k6 r F& N kFAVA staff by organizing and updating two libraries: the film, video and digital library; as
( Z9 q2 V* k/ R- ^) d/ l) o: Dwell as the script, magazine and book library. ) u: Z0 n+ [; M# K* D) O

- Sort and catalogue the film, video and digital library 1 u- w4 }! b; Y* P
- Sort and catalogue scripts, magazine and books
/ h% S6 ^0 A3 u: S- Implement a catalogue template for future use
/ T# T2 m7 O6 h% i- Update and develop loaning policy and procedure ; l# D7 V$ _3 O) N; b
- Enforce FAVA’s standard of use policies where applicable

- Applicants must be unemployed and attending (or have recently completed) a post-

- A passionate interest in film, video and media arts
