$ J. V! s: T* zFAVA is currently looking for a Librarian to join the FAVA team for 10 weeks in the
summer of 2009. FAVA is a non-profit, charitable organization whose mandate is to
support the production and exhibition of film, video and media artists from Northern
Alberta.

4 r, Q' p* n, P$ y. t3 k* u7 NFAVA serves members with diverse backgrounds and levels of experience, ranging from
emerging, mid-range to established artists with an unwavering passion for film, video
and media art. FAVA offers: a variety of workshops for artistic and skill development; is a
3 U4 r/ {2 s. Xresource for production equipment and post-production facilities; hosts events and
9 i% o' i( c# d, I3 Q. Jscreenings; and fosters and develops a dynamic media arts community in Northern
Alberta.

Job Description: The Librarian will report to the Executive Director and work with the
+ z; V: I* C( i  zFAVA staff by organizing and updating two libraries: the film, video and digital library; as
& B) c# e) ~+ G1 V9 G1 n" R) pwell as the script, magazine and book library.

Duties:
- Sort and catalogue the film, video and digital library
- Sort and catalogue scripts, magazine and books
9 F% Q$ k, Z4 ]9 k  d  Z1 Z$ d- Implement a catalogue template for future use
1 s+ R! X" I+ m* W: Q+ r0 h- Update and develop loaning policy and procedure
- Enforce FAVA’s standard of use policies where applicable

- Applicants must be unemployed and attending (or have recently completed) a post-

- Wage is $15.00 per hour, 35 hours per week

! B6 N; X& R' u, \  F- Strong organizational skills
- Experience or training in library sciences preferred
- Exceptional communication skills, written and verbal  
- Strong team player abilities
2 Y6 F+ Y$ \$ K8 m% Q3 Y& r0 ]- Interest in working for an arts organization that is governed by a Board of Directors

I have 3 years librarian expeirence in U of A, and believe I can fit in this postion perfectly.
