& a2 e% N1 `* j, IFAVA is currently looking for a Librarian to join the FAVA team for 10 weeks in the
4 q5 X& j2 `! H( lsummer of 2009. FAVA is a non-profit, charitable organization whose mandate is to 9 k1 n: H$ S9 f4 b- G
support the production and exhibition of film, video and media artists from Northern
5 m% ]. u% e1 ^! J6 l& k# dAlberta.

$ A; X/ m8 H( ]0 O' _! qFAVA serves members with diverse backgrounds and levels of experience, ranging from 7 w* \: ^- A9 O
emerging, mid-range to established artists with an unwavering passion for film, video # W$ j$ C& n. k/ i6 G/ N
and media art. FAVA offers: a variety of workshops for artistic and skill development; is a 8 r% w T4 |$ E. A3 j# k( `
resource for production equipment and post-production facilities; hosts events and
9 b: ], B4 _+ m" Lscreenings; and fosters and develops a dynamic media arts community in Northern * P% K/ L% Y+ A% q- ^
Alberta.

Job Description: The Librarian will report to the Executive Director and work with the ) l9 K3 d5 g1 S" p6 J9 ?
FAVA staff by organizing and updating two libraries: the film, video and digital library; as ; w1 g# o0 G: q( `) E+ P9 [* `( p
well as the script, magazine and book library.

& B Y% g% K$ _* A) e* V$ X+ UDuties: ( J) j" q; z" ^/ U' U- D
- Sort and catalogue the film, video and digital library
$ U" v. @4 X, a5 g5 G% s9 L- Sort and catalogue scripts, magazine and books
9 s/ \3 }) s3 R" O" V# O6 o% q- Implement a catalogue template for future use
; C# |3 M" i6 d& j4 f4 @) A3 k- Update and develop loaning policy and procedure & [; e6 v% x2 g& W+ k& x' l
- Enforce FAVA’s standard of use policies where applicable * ~0 J* K8 ^( W( y2 W) H4 A! ?7 B! l1 U

- Wage is $15.00 per hour, 35 hours per week ! \" g7 H8 K1 _8 t/ A
- Length of position: 10 consecutive weeks

- A passionate interest in film, video and media arts $ i3 K# s, R) {! N0 l7 E

- Experience or training in library sciences preferred ! ?7 Z7 [5 a! F4 k' q) M
- Exceptional communication skills, written and verbal
