FAVA is currently looking for a Librarian to join the FAVA team for 10 weeks in the - c& Y$ d# B& ]8 a N
summer of 2009. FAVA is a non-profit, charitable organization whose mandate is to 6 `3 E6 c/ `% _6 ]
support the production and exhibition of film, video and media artists from Northern

* \+ A7 D/ }) ^% y" B' AFAVA serves members with diverse backgrounds and levels of experience, ranging from
, P; f* P: `) L$ x, D# |" Wemerging, mid-range to established artists with an unwavering passion for film, video
& L' r+ v2 d W1 p" U/ u* wand media art. FAVA offers: a variety of workshops for artistic and skill development; is a 9 E) E7 {$ D' {, @
resource for production equipment and post-production facilities; hosts events and 5 S- u. u% ?5 w8 ^2 a$ F/ n
screenings; and fosters and develops a dynamic media arts community in Northern ) L' o& N2 L. f9 w" |& N- _

# }1 Z F# s8 t: w" |Job Description: The Librarian will report to the Executive Director and work with the ) E1 ? v1 [3 R; h) r9 J" y
FAVA staff by organizing and updating two libraries: the film, video and digital library; as
; r3 z+ t0 x6 X8 hwell as the script, magazine and book library.

( {) ~' c2 s3 n' U2 R- Sort and catalogue the film, video and digital library
' M/ r% I9 k3 Z: g, D( ]- Sort and catalogue scripts, magazine and books
" X2 b. k0 e( c9 J6 ~7 W+ s- Implement a catalogue template for future use . R7 M- n. C+ u" C9 v0 d
- Update and develop loaning policy and procedure
$ w: B) g* Y$ l+ D O$ q$ U% } Q- Enforce FAVA’s standard of use policies where applicable 1 J! ^. F( w+ y- U
) e$ G5 \; V0 \" i( G( G! q

- Funding for this position is provided by the Summer Temporary Employment Program ; S( C* K r& a( y9 t+ y1 `- k

secondary training, university preferred * g4 [* J) B% F6 N* m
- Wage is $15.00 per hour, 35 hours per week : ^3 p! V; u! n5 g% p
- Length of position: 10 consecutive weeks + `( A8 r$ w4 i2 c2 \0 H+ ~
& v2 I- B# q0 G( x+ P3 zQualifications: The ideal candidate will have: ; `, l4 s5 `7 g4 W5 S) z
- A passionate interest in film, video and media arts
% a. {# [7 b1 f% W- Strong organizational skills
2 H8 k0 P( c }& o, E, F$ n- Experience or training in library sciences preferred

- Strong team player abilities . D$ Q$ _& i; L9 x# b
- Interest in working for an arts organization that is governed by a Board of Directors
