FAVA is currently looking for a Librarian to join the FAVA team for 10 weeks in the " u+ |1 y, ^ ]* L! \5 } m6 h3 x
summer of 2009. FAVA is a non-profit, charitable organization whose mandate is to " i2 t# a5 ]3 P: n, F7 u: `
support the production and exhibition of film, video and media artists from Northern

FAVA serves members with diverse backgrounds and levels of experience, ranging from 7 t9 {7 v% l O9 a2 t! b! r
emerging, mid-range to established artists with an unwavering passion for film, video
9 @5 z# G) D; `- f Eand media art. FAVA offers: a variety of workshops for artistic and skill development; is a 0 j0 y: }8 P9 U- L% j# C
resource for production equipment and post-production facilities; hosts events and * N( o3 H- d' v
screenings; and fosters and develops a dynamic media arts community in Northern * {, M# Q2 B3 |! q* p% {6 p

/ ^ w' A) o. H- SFAVA staff by organizing and updating two libraries: the film, video and digital library; as 9 k# t5 x5 `3 ]2 s
well as the script, magazine and book library. 0 Y+ l0 ?$ H f! f- O" d

! _* I# @8 U( C! a5 V- Sort and catalogue the film, video and digital library
: m5 p6 S) M0 g- E0 J- Sort and catalogue scripts, magazine and books ! a7 Y( y; M9 m) k
- Implement a catalogue template for future use
: U* F8 Z2 y0 C% T- z, {- Z- Update and develop loaning policy and procedure 3 N& _9 m) m" q3 ^$ ?
- Enforce FAVA’s standard of use policies where applicable

- Applicants must be unemployed and attending (or have recently completed) a post-

- Wage is $15.00 per hour, 35 hours per week

Qualifications: The ideal candidate will have: 3 R" L; w9 H4 k, z% d# R. l! m q; V6 J
- A passionate interest in film, video and media arts - v; T! h: `- w/ u7 g
- Strong organizational skills + L$ o! R1 w p+ w! o
- Experience or training in library sciences preferred , r" {( C, Y7 x1 v& B7 |8 [! N
- Exceptional communication skills, written and verbal
