FAVA is currently looking for a Librarian to join the FAVA team for 10 weeks in the
+ g* }) n8 _, T/ g& ~" bsummer of 2009. FAVA is a non-profit, charitable organization whose mandate is to
! m; w+ ~' j' O! isupport the production and exhibition of film, video and media artists from Northern
Alberta.

; {5 S" \7 X$ t/ k. R+ }7 CFAVA serves members with diverse backgrounds and levels of experience, ranging from
% T9 C% W: l" H* N0 a& V# z4 p- Gemerging, mid-range to established artists with an unwavering passion for film, video
and media art. FAVA offers: a variety of workshops for artistic and skill development; is a
3 T$ s, l9 w  tresource for production equipment and post-production facilities; hosts events and
% M# }- n% e: P; K' v) nscreenings; and fosters and develops a dynamic media arts community in Northern
1 A) v# E9 \( ^. k1 C. K% U% |Alberta.

Job Description: The Librarian will report to the Executive Director and work with the
1 P$ f& y% r' ?0 f  xFAVA staff by organizing and updating two libraries: the film, video and digital library; as
well as the script, magazine and book library.

: Q4 J8 Y+ q/ H  a/ ]* w+ Z2 {; _Duties:
- Sort and catalogue the film, video and digital library
- Sort and catalogue scripts, magazine and books
- Implement a catalogue template for future use
- Update and develop loaning policy and procedure
- Enforce FAVA’s standard of use policies where applicable

- Applicants must be unemployed and attending (or have recently completed) a post-
# R; a) O% k* n$ K5 nsecondary training, university preferred
/ u- F$ H" t- Q8 M- Wage is $15.00 per hour, 35 hours per week
- Length of position: 10 consecutive weeks

+ `4 m) p5 s# i. u3 H3 W* TQualifications: The ideal candidate will have:
" y; R6 E+ A0 E  v. z- A passionate interest in film, video and media arts
* `/ o# S; I" l2 }" ~7 z- Strong organizational skills
- Experience or training in library sciences preferred
- Exceptional communication skills, written and verbal  
: e; B" G! U- Q8 i$ E- Strong team player abilities
: \5 t; j$ Q+ ~0 Q- Interest in working for an arts organization that is governed by a Board of Directors
