FAVA is currently looking for a Librarian to join the FAVA team for 10 weeks in the ) ~, a8 V8 N7 O# f" T. @& [/ L
summer of 2009. FAVA is a non-profit, charitable organization whose mandate is to
6 L4 h+ h: I3 [support the production and exhibition of film, video and media artists from Northern ; v& K# L' {, L% R, K; Q- a) R* L
Alberta.

FAVA serves members with diverse backgrounds and levels of experience, ranging from
6 L/ e. b2 T" O- q8 \' G) ?" xemerging, mid-range to established artists with an unwavering passion for film, video - m- @0 P9 x, |9 i1 w! g
and media art. FAVA offers: a variety of workshops for artistic and skill development; is a ' \! V z9 k# k/ G1 c
resource for production equipment and post-production facilities; hosts events and 4 \) s6 v4 `, C. r9 N% K
screenings; and fosters and develops a dynamic media arts community in Northern 5 _5 H' q" Z# ~; O, r# I2 l( [

. J$ y( Y* f, G+ V% b2 j: rJob Description: The Librarian will report to the Executive Director and work with the ; f7 ]( n6 v' {$ ]6 A
FAVA staff by organizing and updating two libraries: the film, video and digital library; as
, G. L( D4 k/ u, R5 Y* ]& qwell as the script, magazine and book library.

- Sort and catalogue scripts, magazine and books
2 {0 s+ c. x2 C6 l* ^; N6 l$ N+ w- Implement a catalogue template for future use % f) _9 O% g0 U1 y
- Update and develop loaning policy and procedure
7 _$ ]3 E( [7 W* O3 M0 R) z- Enforce FAVA’s standard of use policies where applicable

- Applicants must be unemployed and attending (or have recently completed) a post-

- Wage is $15.00 per hour, 35 hours per week
& R8 J4 c* o/ `( g T9 i- Length of position: 10 consecutive weeks

- A passionate interest in film, video and media arts # W3 a0 Y8 D, ~6 B2 s
- Strong organizational skills * B9 k' s. M" L- B! g4 E" D
- Experience or training in library sciences preferred
