$ d$ I, T: v; h0 O8 NFAVA is currently looking for a Librarian to join the FAVA team for 10 weeks in the
summer of 2009. FAVA is a non-profit, charitable organization whose mandate is to
; ]. @0 L+ F% dsupport the production and exhibition of film, video and media artists from Northern
6 O1 n$ x3 h) y2 ^Alberta.

$ F4 W  w) H- _2 Z0 R4 aFAVA serves members with diverse backgrounds and levels of experience, ranging from
emerging, mid-range to established artists with an unwavering passion for film, video
# b8 d) W6 e9 b+ G  m+ Fand media art. FAVA offers: a variety of workshops for artistic and skill development; is a
resource for production equipment and post-production facilities; hosts events and
screenings; and fosters and develops a dynamic media arts community in Northern
Alberta.

& u& g+ q  M5 BJob Description: The Librarian will report to the Executive Director and work with the
FAVA staff by organizing and updating two libraries: the film, video and digital library; as
% X, j% ~( V# r8 v) Mwell as the script, magazine and book library.

Duties:
* s: k5 S( G: L4 E9 C- Sort and catalogue the film, video and digital library
/ G* F3 W; n+ a; T. L" Z( F- Sort and catalogue scripts, magazine and books
- Implement a catalogue template for future use
+ ?8 |# y& R. q4 ^  K7 C; `( s- Update and develop loaning policy and procedure
- Enforce FAVA’s standard of use policies where applicable

- Funding for this position is provided by the Summer Temporary Employment Program
(STEP)
3 T9 J2 E6 Y/ m. P) l- Applicants must be unemployed and attending (or have recently completed) a post-

, ~. \# [2 Q( n4 @1 }- C: X- Wage is $15.00 per hour, 35 hours per week
- Length of position: 10 consecutive weeks

Qualifications: The ideal candidate will have:
- A passionate interest in film, video and media arts
, g+ _* F8 O0 @; ~& {; W9 U; ~- Strong organizational skills
- Experience or training in library sciences preferred
- Exceptional communication skills, written and verbal  
2 R2 ?% K9 `1 R: W2 b. y- Strong team player abilities
- Interest in working for an arts organization that is governed by a Board of Directors
