FAVA is currently looking for a Librarian to join the FAVA team for 10 weeks in the : j4 ?* l# d) X
summer of 2009. FAVA is a non-profit, charitable organization whose mandate is to
( }- J1 i% S" ^5 c. u$ ?: Y- wsupport the production and exhibition of film, video and media artists from Northern
* g! P0 {) Y7 s f3 Q3 a- F9 m, BAlberta. : q( w) ^; I/ f
; ^9 g5 H+ `/ d( N# a) pFAVA serves members with diverse backgrounds and levels of experience, ranging from ; O2 t8 o9 L/ Q$ C; g
emerging, mid-range to established artists with an unwavering passion for film, video 4 g8 T0 a7 ^2 Q: d- k5 J
and media art. FAVA offers: a variety of workshops for artistic and skill development; is a
' k }1 d" M( Hresource for production equipment and post-production facilities; hosts events and
' ]! B# y( N7 i4 Tscreenings; and fosters and develops a dynamic media arts community in Northern
; \+ G8 o3 ~* U6 n2 H7 Y' O" pAlberta.

Job Description: The Librarian will report to the Executive Director and work with the
6 e! m* I$ U' B' L- wFAVA staff by organizing and updating two libraries: the film, video and digital library; as
+ B# r9 t% v% Dwell as the script, magazine and book library.
9 }0 N- }- a) G, k3 O+ b) T, ` 3 T! q# Z0 ^ t) @' w
Duties: . F! c& a6 M, O; r! Y
- Sort and catalogue the film, video and digital library
" y$ j0 `1 G" R- Sort and catalogue scripts, magazine and books $ n; k* x1 y7 w* d
- Implement a catalogue template for future use ) I0 U; ^. M2 }8 a8 O5 I' W9 u/ X5 I* `3 k
- Update and develop loaning policy and procedure
- x. ]% q% a- }* a7 C+ O) P- Enforce FAVA’s standard of use policies where applicable

- A passionate interest in film, video and media arts ) ]% ]& \ M9 H$ v9 d8 @$ T
- Strong organizational skills 8 H# d8 h2 O" t' J/ x
- Experience or training in library sciences preferred
- v+ J$ ~9 l$ G! S {- Exceptional communication skills, written and verbal 9 ]- H4 k* Q0 u

- Interest in working for an arts organization that is governed by a Board of Directors . W2 b- {$ J0 y4 f4 {
