4 u6 Z# O$ b# o" R: Wsummer of 2009. FAVA is a non-profit, charitable organization whose mandate is to
8 a9 R, r3 ]" |# D) L/ _support the production and exhibition of film, video and media artists from Northern
: m+ i3 q! d) D& C& WAlberta.

: J: \2 f: X1 ~FAVA serves members with diverse backgrounds and levels of experience, ranging from
emerging, mid-range to established artists with an unwavering passion for film, video
# r/ c1 a6 ]: {: g- tand media art. FAVA offers: a variety of workshops for artistic and skill development; is a
* O& c( B( b' H* \2 ^4 ^( q7 oresource for production equipment and post-production facilities; hosts events and
screenings; and fosters and develops a dynamic media arts community in Northern
% P% r6 l/ {; F& W1 m) T  A, uAlberta.

  C; P' j5 w) ^# P5 MJob Description: The Librarian will report to the Executive Director and work with the
FAVA staff by organizing and updating two libraries: the film, video and digital library; as
4 L" [, C  X4 B. T2 f9 Z6 ywell as the script, magazine and book library.

* i" t- m5 s7 b. f. u6 n9 ?Duties:
$ j( Y% s7 d8 U6 [: }3 O, c- Sort and catalogue the film, video and digital library
- Sort and catalogue scripts, magazine and books
- Implement a catalogue template for future use
- Update and develop loaning policy and procedure
- Enforce FAVA’s standard of use policies where applicable

- Funding for this position is provided by the Summer Temporary Employment Program

secondary training, university preferred
- Wage is $15.00 per hour, 35 hours per week
- Length of position: 10 consecutive weeks

Qualifications: The ideal candidate will have:
- A passionate interest in film, video and media arts
- Strong organizational skills
- Experience or training in library sciences preferred
- Z6 L4 P' f: n; Y8 a- Exceptional communication skills, written and verbal  
- Strong team player abilities
- Interest in working for an arts organization that is governed by a Board of Directors
