FAVA is currently looking for a Librarian to join the FAVA team for 10 weeks in the
summer of 2009. FAVA is a non-profit, charitable organization whose mandate is to
# q% z$ [1 a8 z. a' Bsupport the production and exhibition of film, video and media artists from Northern
& n9 y% v5 G) @% F0 c+ D3 U- \Alberta.

FAVA serves members with diverse backgrounds and levels of experience, ranging from
emerging, mid-range to established artists with an unwavering passion for film, video
+ X0 A7 Q7 c; `0 aand media art. FAVA offers: a variety of workshops for artistic and skill development; is a
  d/ z, L$ K* n- k- I  n! ^resource for production equipment and post-production facilities; hosts events and
screenings; and fosters and develops a dynamic media arts community in Northern
" ]7 K" j( f8 w  D; EAlberta.

( L; U! n# l" Q) K# WJob Description: The Librarian will report to the Executive Director and work with the
FAVA staff by organizing and updating two libraries: the film, video and digital library; as

- Sort and catalogue the film, video and digital library
- Sort and catalogue scripts, magazine and books
- Implement a catalogue template for future use
- Update and develop loaning policy and procedure

1 U, e; ~) G( I: I- Applicants must be unemployed and attending (or have recently completed) a post-
6 V' @1 Z2 H$ u7 ssecondary training, university preferred
- Wage is $15.00 per hour, 35 hours per week
- Length of position: 10 consecutive weeks

) Q* L9 P) }# _! gQualifications: The ideal candidate will have:
- A passionate interest in film, video and media arts
  M; q* ^. d2 |' ^9 B: R; e- Strong organizational skills
- Experience or training in library sciences preferred
