FAVA is currently looking for a Librarian to join the FAVA team for 10 weeks in the

, X2 e. v7 B% xsupport the production and exhibition of film, video and media artists from Northern
! B! z) O% g) n/ k% x' w, N# X/ MAlberta.

7 y! L. y+ D' uFAVA serves members with diverse backgrounds and levels of experience, ranging from
emerging, mid-range to established artists with an unwavering passion for film, video
and media art. FAVA offers: a variety of workshops for artistic and skill development; is a
% u9 c2 w# G% ~8 n0 p9 u. vresource for production equipment and post-production facilities; hosts events and
screenings; and fosters and develops a dynamic media arts community in Northern
Alberta.

Job Description: The Librarian will report to the Executive Director and work with the
FAVA staff by organizing and updating two libraries: the film, video and digital library; as

- Sort and catalogue the film, video and digital library
- Sort and catalogue scripts, magazine and books
8 c1 e' o# Y# n; |  ^2 q- Implement a catalogue template for future use
3 m: W, o' N$ J0 T8 f; A1 W- Update and develop loaning policy and procedure
3 a1 P+ d5 a- @3 \- p. J" A! Q9 X- Enforce FAVA’s standard of use policies where applicable

- Funding for this position is provided by the Summer Temporary Employment Program

- Wage is $15.00 per hour, 35 hours per week
- Length of position: 10 consecutive weeks

- A passionate interest in film, video and media arts
- Strong organizational skills
( `, {! j- }% c9 o+ c; _- Experience or training in library sciences preferred
- Exceptional communication skills, written and verbal  
- Strong team player abilities
