# ^7 w! r# |- L1 Y* Qsummer of 2009. FAVA is a non-profit, charitable organization whose mandate is to
6 f0 X; C0 ~" O8 w8 Rsupport the production and exhibition of film, video and media artists from Northern
8 r$ M) L+ t- W1 XAlberta.

5 u4 s  |0 S7 I5 L! H4 Z- aFAVA serves members with diverse backgrounds and levels of experience, ranging from
emerging, mid-range to established artists with an unwavering passion for film, video
and media art. FAVA offers: a variety of workshops for artistic and skill development; is a
resource for production equipment and post-production facilities; hosts events and
screenings; and fosters and develops a dynamic media arts community in Northern
- \, N/ c5 @* l$ f* @Alberta.

5 ^# h+ n/ u3 a- z3 i% [+ SJob Description: The Librarian will report to the Executive Director and work with the
FAVA staff by organizing and updating two libraries: the film, video and digital library; as
well as the script, magazine and book library.

Duties:
7 A/ `. m+ A+ k8 E! U6 n- Sort and catalogue the film, video and digital library
6 _  ?$ B8 b! `/ `6 B- z5 _! }- Sort and catalogue scripts, magazine and books
- Implement a catalogue template for future use
$ h! }, ?& m1 @4 {) {- Update and develop loaning policy and procedure
7 q1 s5 i) Y: U' E; u( H- Enforce FAVA’s standard of use policies where applicable
7 R# t) V; T+ D$ g; T$ D, C4 ?+ K4 F

- Funding for this position is provided by the Summer Temporary Employment Program
(STEP)
- }0 `% B2 c/ ]* e6 ]# C3 A- Applicants must be unemployed and attending (or have recently completed) a post-
secondary training, university preferred
* m+ I; `- @* t% \- Wage is $15.00 per hour, 35 hours per week
- Length of position: 10 consecutive weeks
% ?: D) f& S5 @0 H
Qualifications: The ideal candidate will have:
) |; K9 _% ~# t1 ?- A passionate interest in film, video and media arts
- Strong organizational skills
% B0 j9 `6 P! x( f% ]- Experience or training in library sciences preferred
9 F3 [; g7 D. k. m+ B" |! L8 ^" ~- Exceptional communication skills, written and verbal  
8 u1 Z3 N' W% T/ d) b- Strong team player abilities
- Interest in working for an arts organization that is governed by a Board of Directors
