FAVA is currently looking for a Librarian to join the FAVA team for 10 weeks in the
summer of 2009. FAVA is a non-profit, charitable organization whose mandate is to
* W$ v6 h5 e7 E. }3 |9 `support the production and exhibition of film, video and media artists from Northern
Alberta.

FAVA serves members with diverse backgrounds and levels of experience, ranging from
$ ^; G# S2 b( N+ ]emerging, mid-range to established artists with an unwavering passion for film, video
& q' V6 z% X! \$ \5 Q6 B5 uand media art. FAVA offers: a variety of workshops for artistic and skill development; is a
resource for production equipment and post-production facilities; hosts events and
screenings; and fosters and develops a dynamic media arts community in Northern
' `" _6 a0 D4 P! i0 }6 M9 p8 D- a' Z. w' ]Alberta.

% ]: h/ C0 `; b  ~: aJob Description: The Librarian will report to the Executive Director and work with the
3 s- y5 b, N) F5 P. v) Y4 JFAVA staff by organizing and updating two libraries: the film, video and digital library; as
$ y* `* u7 R2 lwell as the script, magazine and book library.

Duties:
- Sort and catalogue the film, video and digital library
' u: x" q" P, f& c) d" v- Sort and catalogue scripts, magazine and books
- Implement a catalogue template for future use
6 `2 B4 S$ Q9 q6 W; P9 u- Update and develop loaning policy and procedure
: H+ C- A$ `. c4 X" t* `2 g: W- Enforce FAVA’s standard of use policies where applicable

(STEP)

2 d1 z, T# W9 j7 F2 Y9 p- Wage is $15.00 per hour, 35 hours per week
- Length of position: 10 consecutive weeks

: U" \5 F& D- @/ V+ s5 `Qualifications: The ideal candidate will have:
6 Q/ S% y. `* |& j4 f; ], y6 `- A passionate interest in film, video and media arts
% J. K1 e& f; W/ O# o- Strong organizational skills
* U0 g7 Z, B8 \, o1 s- Experience or training in library sciences preferred
- Exceptional communication skills, written and verbal  
4 `' t9 b) u6 W7 b$ z" p% L- Strong team player abilities
6 C  j0 f2 c% A- Interest in working for an arts organization that is governed by a Board of Directors
