FAVA is currently looking for a Librarian to join the FAVA team for 10 weeks in the
- ?2 \) o2 P# }, ^summer of 2009. FAVA is a non-profit, charitable organization whose mandate is to
! P/ E7 P" A2 L* nsupport the production and exhibition of film, video and media artists from Northern
Alberta.

FAVA serves members with diverse backgrounds and levels of experience, ranging from
! m% f3 B: U$ K+ {6 f+ temerging, mid-range to established artists with an unwavering passion for film, video
4 Q$ p4 d! Q3 a4 n. g( T( ?/ Wand media art. FAVA offers: a variety of workshops for artistic and skill development; is a
resource for production equipment and post-production facilities; hosts events and
' k% U6 Q7 L& f) Q3 ]" Vscreenings; and fosters and develops a dynamic media arts community in Northern
9 d; q' H' b0 p" |3 B5 A4 ?  C/ V, i* r/ vAlberta.

7 O2 Q$ O, b  A. _& z' G/ K3 }Job Description: The Librarian will report to the Executive Director and work with the
FAVA staff by organizing and updating two libraries: the film, video and digital library; as
' Q: o. s- R# ]- f/ t# swell as the script, magazine and book library.

* X6 f6 y# k1 l  Q- Sort and catalogue the film, video and digital library
- Sort and catalogue scripts, magazine and books
- Implement a catalogue template for future use
2 B  ]7 Z: [7 M9 X' H( I1 M- Update and develop loaning policy and procedure
- Enforce FAVA’s standard of use policies where applicable

- Funding for this position is provided by the Summer Temporary Employment Program

& ]$ j9 W% k' V7 X( ]secondary training, university preferred
- Wage is $15.00 per hour, 35 hours per week
- Length of position: 10 consecutive weeks

Qualifications: The ideal candidate will have:
0 a- t- ^, w3 P7 g$ b- A passionate interest in film, video and media arts
' |4 [' e; r( A& F- Strong organizational skills
8 l1 Q  J& U- L0 n- Experience or training in library sciences preferred
8 s  u4 B8 [6 C. {% X$ i. y4 _- Exceptional communication skills, written and verbal  
- Strong team player abilities
4 g' @; ~2 W$ o4 P- Interest in working for an arts organization that is governed by a Board of Directors

I have 3 years librarian expeirence in U of A, and believe I can fit in this postion perfectly.
