FAVA is currently looking for a Librarian to join the FAVA team for 10 weeks in the
/ W5 n% T7 b7 B- Y. J8 i0 Ksummer of 2009. FAVA is a non-profit, charitable organization whose mandate is to
) S6 _6 f7 ^; N. i8 E& |6 T. ?support the production and exhibition of film, video and media artists from Northern 5 @$ E0 T% |3 L/ H3 T: G, f7 |, U* x
Alberta.

3 a, ?4 h( K/ v4 LFAVA serves members with diverse backgrounds and levels of experience, ranging from

and media art. FAVA offers: a variety of workshops for artistic and skill development; is a 4 U* Q) |# B( C" E3 | q& `
resource for production equipment and post-production facilities; hosts events and ; b* y$ |& W2 s4 N8 H1 Z
screenings; and fosters and develops a dynamic media arts community in Northern

Job Description: The Librarian will report to the Executive Director and work with the
3 d& J+ ?! A: w* Q6 F6 eFAVA staff by organizing and updating two libraries: the film, video and digital library; as , p5 ]- j$ l: \" B
well as the script, magazine and book library.

Duties: + @/ c/ i% e% {9 }* L" h. V7 b
- Sort and catalogue the film, video and digital library
% j, C0 V* m: B- N- Sort and catalogue scripts, magazine and books 2 G, |& h. r) a+ V7 c0 U, B/ I
- Implement a catalogue template for future use 2 q; }: }/ ?0 s3 R* B6 O- |; A
- Update and develop loaning policy and procedure
/ R" g* f1 a; |( F! k& i- Enforce FAVA’s standard of use policies where applicable # S6 i0 X& N$ g% H

- Applicants must be unemployed and attending (or have recently completed) a post-

- A passionate interest in film, video and media arts

- Experience or training in library sciences preferred 0 d! @/ j3 T* ^( k( g. o% j
- Exceptional communication skills, written and verbal
