FAVA is currently looking for a Librarian to join the FAVA team for 10 weeks in the - Q/ o* a, A4 A* [
summer of 2009. FAVA is a non-profit, charitable organization whose mandate is to

5 ~* b$ }% R$ D" E5 b' mFAVA serves members with diverse backgrounds and levels of experience, ranging from
* f I) o% x: V* semerging, mid-range to established artists with an unwavering passion for film, video 8 @- B( H+ ?" I. X' }; t$ N
and media art. FAVA offers: a variety of workshops for artistic and skill development; is a
& y* U {7 [2 v, @" _, V R) {2 V! Mresource for production equipment and post-production facilities; hosts events and
2 r& l1 y* B; L( f( h$ t' F. P) _# escreenings; and fosters and develops a dynamic media arts community in Northern

5 H7 @2 M6 _: o0 rJob Description: The Librarian will report to the Executive Director and work with the
$ c1 H! N: P' R6 {! A8 {( W) n) u) [FAVA staff by organizing and updating two libraries: the film, video and digital library; as 5 _/ J# j1 ~8 Y
well as the script, magazine and book library.

- Sort and catalogue the film, video and digital library
# {) z1 {# a& Q9 |2 S+ ?" U- Sort and catalogue scripts, magazine and books : M: h: z, u. o; @6 X3 y' [
- Implement a catalogue template for future use
$ T% r- d, l" o# T* ~( ^% B- Update and develop loaning policy and procedure ) \: _# `; E5 A$ B0 o3 u: _
- Enforce FAVA’s standard of use policies where applicable @0 _5 @" {9 e0 @3 d, H

- Funding for this position is provided by the Summer Temporary Employment Program 9 O. v$ \$ A! o4 a

- Applicants must be unemployed and attending (or have recently completed) a post-
% c- z1 {* O" m0 l# m3 u: zsecondary training, university preferred 6 f! b& ?* K6 a/ f
- Wage is $15.00 per hour, 35 hours per week * k# e6 }2 _6 X+ Z
- Length of position: 10 consecutive weeks

Qualifications: The ideal candidate will have:
* v9 T0 ?* b6 q9 n. U- A passionate interest in film, video and media arts

- Interest in working for an arts organization that is governed by a Board of Directors
