support the production and exhibition of film, video and media artists from Northern

1 c/ y1 [1 S9 p9 f1 S; I$ \FAVA serves members with diverse backgrounds and levels of experience, ranging from
6 Y7 S. m: t3 S( [! X7 b; Pemerging, mid-range to established artists with an unwavering passion for film, video ) r* \2 v3 S/ L4 g* U$ ?' Q
and media art. FAVA offers: a variety of workshops for artistic and skill development; is a
5 ~) w2 P! M3 A) W$ l% Wresource for production equipment and post-production facilities; hosts events and
: x% {8 n: y5 F Y; ]" I% Tscreenings; and fosters and develops a dynamic media arts community in Northern ( [# _" s5 m: G1 D+ I C: m
Alberta.

8 g' Y0 [' w8 hJob Description: The Librarian will report to the Executive Director and work with the - W8 }. e0 X% q2 C" B0 V7 H
FAVA staff by organizing and updating two libraries: the film, video and digital library; as
' K5 t+ M6 T+ S: V7 S) Fwell as the script, magazine and book library.

Duties: 8 C0 z0 |# N2 D8 Q) [3 n
- Sort and catalogue the film, video and digital library 3 J9 |4 k; K( S0 h& k
- Sort and catalogue scripts, magazine and books
% x& i# ]/ }" D, K- Implement a catalogue template for future use ! r, C2 o$ D8 A) {2 z
- Update and develop loaning policy and procedure

- Applicants must be unemployed and attending (or have recently completed) a post-& Q$ S: a! R J6 A* ~+ [+ F. P7 C
secondary training, university preferred : v3 ^. U) m _; ?# j0 A" z1 G2 ]$ ~" t( @
- Wage is $15.00 per hour, 35 hours per week ; E7 [" I2 G4 r& U7 E0 h
- Length of position: 10 consecutive weeks / u( T9 _/ q6 { F2 ?5 P

Qualifications: The ideal candidate will have:

- Strong organizational skills

- Exceptional communication skills, written and verbal ! L e/ L! [8 k. u& s/ U
- Strong team player abilities
