' _, k9 d+ A0 Q/ D. c# HFAVA is currently looking for a Librarian to join the FAVA team for 10 weeks in the
6 W  X6 ^7 B0 o/ J& M/ Z/ P) Vsummer of 2009. FAVA is a non-profit, charitable organization whose mandate is to
% o# _  `0 T3 E) a* N2 q& ~6 fsupport the production and exhibition of film, video and media artists from Northern
; t# f+ {' z' e. AAlberta.
% B8 K. m# |  `# X/ M( U' ]( G
FAVA serves members with diverse backgrounds and levels of experience, ranging from
emerging, mid-range to established artists with an unwavering passion for film, video
% _5 Y  ?7 r  C2 K* x  |and media art. FAVA offers: a variety of workshops for artistic and skill development; is a
: V( {/ q& L# n+ A" Jresource for production equipment and post-production facilities; hosts events and
) `9 Z/ f- ?  X( J/ D0 |7 B% Wscreenings; and fosters and develops a dynamic media arts community in Northern
" ^8 Y( @7 I3 O6 S2 _Alberta.

2 ~& _: ~/ a# C1 FJob Description: The Librarian will report to the Executive Director and work with the
/ U7 p2 @0 A& x# \1 n% C4 _/ R# ^FAVA staff by organizing and updating two libraries: the film, video and digital library; as
1 i4 c3 p1 p  T; K1 zwell as the script, magazine and book library.

" C! J+ [0 J& n- Sort and catalogue the film, video and digital library
- Sort and catalogue scripts, magazine and books
% X8 m) {. {+ w7 ^; r- Implement a catalogue template for future use
- Update and develop loaning policy and procedure
- Enforce FAVA’s standard of use policies where applicable

- Funding for this position is provided by the Summer Temporary Employment Program

( |0 C. g- d1 u8 e7 @8 y- Applicants must be unemployed and attending (or have recently completed) a post-
secondary training, university preferred
- Wage is $15.00 per hour, 35 hours per week
* s  r8 ^6 ]+ ]# X7 \. F, k- Length of position: 10 consecutive weeks

* r6 Q. I- l' F" @" R' ]Qualifications: The ideal candidate will have:
) Q7 }" d3 `: g: ?$ r" r- A passionate interest in film, video and media arts
  v/ p7 t1 G5 C- Strong organizational skills
, u$ f( P1 {9 B) }- Experience or training in library sciences preferred
: g: x6 `2 ~4 |! A- Exceptional communication skills, written and verbal  
- Strong team player abilities
- Interest in working for an arts organization that is governed by a Board of Directors
