FAVA is currently looking for a Librarian to join the FAVA team for 10 weeks in the 5 ], K1 l) l) A9 u% u$ y
summer of 2009. FAVA is a non-profit, charitable organization whose mandate is to
s* V0 `' M7 p# s6 q' vsupport the production and exhibition of film, video and media artists from Northern
' M* E$ B- ?' ~* ~( eAlberta.

' d; E0 {# m# ` C- [0 R5 TFAVA serves members with diverse backgrounds and levels of experience, ranging from
! e" V, P4 M. G: @3 Pemerging, mid-range to established artists with an unwavering passion for film, video
: Z3 k) J- M+ Pand media art. FAVA offers: a variety of workshops for artistic and skill development; is a
% o, I0 j6 Y7 C' I' Qresource for production equipment and post-production facilities; hosts events and 6 R4 b. ?( ?- {% c* D
screenings; and fosters and develops a dynamic media arts community in Northern

Job Description: The Librarian will report to the Executive Director and work with the
& v3 A% [! }( R7 Q* P9 XFAVA staff by organizing and updating two libraries: the film, video and digital library; as $ Z9 F, K. @9 E8 O4 [( u6 Q
well as the script, magazine and book library. ; a0 m1 S$ W) X

. V( s& k, ^1 D# K, Y5 n- Sort and catalogue the film, video and digital library
3 L7 e8 b/ Z3 J9 |# ?. f3 S* P- Sort and catalogue scripts, magazine and books

- Update and develop loaning policy and procedure

secondary training, university preferred

- Length of position: 10 consecutive weeks

- Strong organizational skills ( V) T) G; T4 @; P6 \( A) e# X
- Experience or training in library sciences preferred
