summer of 2009. FAVA is a non-profit, charitable organization whose mandate is to
) ~- h8 \' e& ]5 S8 U! B' osupport the production and exhibition of film, video and media artists from Northern
X" b; x, [& f! a. Q3 u0 nAlberta.

FAVA serves members with diverse backgrounds and levels of experience, ranging from
( V1 q' P. `) B# P* temerging, mid-range to established artists with an unwavering passion for film, video $ n4 f: C- j' M2 I& h
and media art. FAVA offers: a variety of workshops for artistic and skill development; is a
% S1 @2 `' X- ?- G5 D6 ~ w( z+ xresource for production equipment and post-production facilities; hosts events and 6 h7 l: @- j- L3 w3 W" [
screenings; and fosters and develops a dynamic media arts community in Northern

Job Description: The Librarian will report to the Executive Director and work with the 8 q" ]4 s+ B: r- @* g, r- \( Y) Q
FAVA staff by organizing and updating two libraries: the film, video and digital library; as ' H3 k* T- ?: m8 h
well as the script, magazine and book library. 0 _) u2 ^# }1 [. w

Duties:
8 D. h2 V- d$ d3 i2 f- Sort and catalogue the film, video and digital library 7 [ E& w6 k: {4 W* Q6 E
- Sort and catalogue scripts, magazine and books
% q! n( [& E7 T3 j. K+ _- Implement a catalogue template for future use ! M- A& ]/ u, v; w
- Update and develop loaning policy and procedure % E" s; d+ v) S0 a2 h
- Enforce FAVA’s standard of use policies where applicable / z2 u8 t" b9 T. ?1 W9 u) s

Qualifications: The ideal candidate will have:

- Strong organizational skills 0 Y5 Q( ~) I* ^4 a! \: u. L3 Z/ _7 q7 G' X
- Experience or training in library sciences preferred
- Y3 {8 H6 a4 ?- o# q: e" V7 I( `- Exceptional communication skills, written and verbal

- Interest in working for an arts organization that is governed by a Board of Directors
