FAVA is currently looking for a Librarian to join the FAVA team for 10 weeks in the
summer of 2009. FAVA is a non-profit, charitable organization whose mandate is to
support the production and exhibition of film, video and media artists from Northern
& \$ a. g2 q; R( \3 Q- Q. YAlberta.

FAVA serves members with diverse backgrounds and levels of experience, ranging from
emerging, mid-range to established artists with an unwavering passion for film, video
and media art. FAVA offers: a variety of workshops for artistic and skill development; is a
" ]. r9 A) s0 N- `5 {resource for production equipment and post-production facilities; hosts events and
6 m) P) ~$ e  s) l% e: [# ~screenings; and fosters and develops a dynamic media arts community in Northern
0 i# K" Z' J7 {Alberta.

: G  i+ p! X/ r9 L8 `. x  JJob Description: The Librarian will report to the Executive Director and work with the
FAVA staff by organizing and updating two libraries: the film, video and digital library; as
well as the script, magazine and book library.

Duties:
$ V2 Q& I  e# N3 _$ y; q- Sort and catalogue the film, video and digital library
- Sort and catalogue scripts, magazine and books
- Implement a catalogue template for future use
, ~- s2 ]- i% Y7 H- O- Update and develop loaning policy and procedure
: f- @: J% [/ `5 s- Enforce FAVA’s standard of use policies where applicable

- A passionate interest in film, video and media arts
( X. E3 I, }  N/ C- Strong organizational skills
- Experience or training in library sciences preferred
- Exceptional communication skills, written and verbal  
( |7 h; k% t9 G% e0 A: F; j- Strong team player abilities
- Interest in working for an arts organization that is governed by a Board of Directors
