FAVA is currently looking for a Librarian to join the FAVA team for 10 weeks in the 4 L8 v) S) M- Y& K
summer of 2009. FAVA is a non-profit, charitable organization whose mandate is to % \! O8 t, T9 u) M" i
support the production and exhibition of film, video and media artists from Northern
4 R, k1 m9 w ^- w' }Alberta.

" W2 m6 W) R# b( T. `FAVA serves members with diverse backgrounds and levels of experience, ranging from
9 M# e8 o: \: j" zemerging, mid-range to established artists with an unwavering passion for film, video
" G% }3 {' {4 ^2 A8 z! l+ ]3 Gand media art. FAVA offers: a variety of workshops for artistic and skill development; is a $ p5 U7 @9 `! d; s c
resource for production equipment and post-production facilities; hosts events and 6 |0 ~) T. {3 m y
screenings; and fosters and develops a dynamic media arts community in Northern , H, p. X+ Z0 U

Job Description: The Librarian will report to the Executive Director and work with the & ?9 s) G5 t! P; M( G& F
FAVA staff by organizing and updating two libraries: the film, video and digital library; as

- Sort and catalogue the film, video and digital library
3 H# b Y! e$ Y! }' H% e7 v- Sort and catalogue scripts, magazine and books
- ^2 w6 \; Q$ a6 p4 z/ \! Q, y- Implement a catalogue template for future use 3 M* f- q+ f! e' O7 }
- Update and develop loaning policy and procedure
, g3 T4 v) J9 l- Enforce FAVA’s standard of use policies where applicable

- Wage is $15.00 per hour, 35 hours per week 7 X5 h+ U8 P7 J% {

Qualifications: The ideal candidate will have:
% \% r2 x4 g' O3 v, P; a- M k7 f- A passionate interest in film, video and media arts - c+ W! x& v! p
- Strong organizational skills , p! F0 m- N$ t+ q- Y+ q' H) g
- Experience or training in library sciences preferred

- Strong team player abilities
