FAVA is currently looking for a Librarian to join the FAVA team for 10 weeks in the
9 D& l/ N6 G) Z/ W* B: q# g( S8 R- S, jsummer of 2009. FAVA is a non-profit, charitable organization whose mandate is to
0 T9 k$ c7 H- ]: I1 z: Wsupport the production and exhibition of film, video and media artists from Northern
9 G9 k; l) E; u0 z! }Alberta.

1 r4 `) r- R; U- U7 fFAVA serves members with diverse backgrounds and levels of experience, ranging from
# P* U3 y0 u' {" b6 Oemerging, mid-range to established artists with an unwavering passion for film, video
5 _* U7 S3 ~3 {- m6 tand media art. FAVA offers: a variety of workshops for artistic and skill development; is a
1 j; h* [$ G. Z/ c: M1 Cresource for production equipment and post-production facilities; hosts events and
screenings; and fosters and develops a dynamic media arts community in Northern
Alberta.

" V- }% u* I2 `2 W3 aJob Description: The Librarian will report to the Executive Director and work with the
FAVA staff by organizing and updating two libraries: the film, video and digital library; as
well as the script, magazine and book library.

) g1 f4 i4 E3 `7 w- Sort and catalogue the film, video and digital library
/ ?7 U2 o* b( S/ e( b& E/ f( J- Sort and catalogue scripts, magazine and books
- Implement a catalogue template for future use
- Update and develop loaning policy and procedure
+ x: S2 a: P8 |; N- Enforce FAVA’s standard of use policies where applicable

secondary training, university preferred
' [9 {! Q, [" l4 s" H- Wage is $15.00 per hour, 35 hours per week
- Length of position: 10 consecutive weeks

Qualifications: The ideal candidate will have:
1 A5 O9 T, l6 h) r9 X5 _$ P5 b- A passionate interest in film, video and media arts
- Strong organizational skills
- Experience or training in library sciences preferred
) G8 q& ~) k$ m2 a! ]( p% `- Exceptional communication skills, written and verbal  
- Strong team player abilities
# J  A" _* ]6 d2 L8 `' f! K- Interest in working for an arts organization that is governed by a Board of Directors
