2 Q, g/ Q6 i4 EFAVA is currently looking for a Librarian to join the FAVA team for 10 weeks in the
summer of 2009. FAVA is a non-profit, charitable organization whose mandate is to
support the production and exhibition of film, video and media artists from Northern
& V, ]- @- |" M5 OAlberta.

FAVA serves members with diverse backgrounds and levels of experience, ranging from
' [& f1 X9 q) U" ?% S4 Femerging, mid-range to established artists with an unwavering passion for film, video
and media art. FAVA offers: a variety of workshops for artistic and skill development; is a
resource for production equipment and post-production facilities; hosts events and
* \- h3 j2 o5 \$ Nscreenings; and fosters and develops a dynamic media arts community in Northern
Alberta.

  F) o3 j2 r! ]( [/ O) TJob Description: The Librarian will report to the Executive Director and work with the
FAVA staff by organizing and updating two libraries: the film, video and digital library; as
well as the script, magazine and book library.

. n& m' H) B& R5 U# Z& U' aDuties:
  g* n& [2 J1 s- @+ |& j  i# e- Sort and catalogue the film, video and digital library
& i2 [5 G  a$ o- Sort and catalogue scripts, magazine and books
1 n/ E3 E* i# K9 ]& B- Implement a catalogue template for future use
+ g2 w, t7 q" E/ D4 u! R- Update and develop loaning policy and procedure
- Enforce FAVA’s standard of use policies where applicable

& f& a: ^) j) K) ^3 p- Funding for this position is provided by the Summer Temporary Employment Program

+ K/ K3 [; z2 @: g( r' j) G; `- Applicants must be unemployed and attending (or have recently completed) a post-
8 P; k% w8 R0 P" d# d4 `secondary training, university preferred
; Z3 _: k! }0 i7 p4 O- Wage is $15.00 per hour, 35 hours per week
- Length of position: 10 consecutive weeks

Qualifications: The ideal candidate will have:
- A passionate interest in film, video and media arts
- Strong organizational skills
  Y( a) Y1 c+ c0 h- U) k- Experience or training in library sciences preferred
0 x' W1 g! a2 r7 u6 u1 ?0 x, ]- Exceptional communication skills, written and verbal
