summer of 2009. FAVA is a non-profit, charitable organization whose mandate is to : H4 G! |8 `; I* V0 [- Z
support the production and exhibition of film, video and media artists from Northern

FAVA serves members with diverse backgrounds and levels of experience, ranging from " L# W$ a4 |; ?9 X
emerging, mid-range to established artists with an unwavering passion for film, video
9 [# K& T& z0 c: q& F+ t# U- o& ^and media art. FAVA offers: a variety of workshops for artistic and skill development; is a
! F' |) \, P8 Q' x5 z# p+ e' vresource for production equipment and post-production facilities; hosts events and
7 K: M4 _# ^0 `2 x* Pscreenings; and fosters and develops a dynamic media arts community in Northern

! W% h& y# u2 `: a& qJob Description: The Librarian will report to the Executive Director and work with the 6 ?! h8 d( ^$ E3 R5 e; [
FAVA staff by organizing and updating two libraries: the film, video and digital library; as 2 P* g/ ]$ o! q
well as the script, magazine and book library.

- Sort and catalogue the film, video and digital library 5 ]( s6 y# ~9 t: z
- Sort and catalogue scripts, magazine and books $ j9 p' \3 e$ r1 _& V" W
- Implement a catalogue template for future use 9 ]8 J. b( E7 i4 i
- Update and develop loaning policy and procedure & E8 M9 e' J8 b& D% ?. @
- Enforce FAVA’s standard of use policies where applicable & c# F# A/ [ n( j( X! o. C( c

- Applicants must be unemployed and attending (or have recently completed) a post-( V5 {9 }2 R) k A5 a6 x; D5 p" I2 H8 J
secondary training, university preferred
9 |2 n Z% J! L6 V- Wage is $15.00 per hour, 35 hours per week 9 t$ ^7 v9 m0 T& J: e3 ]
- Length of position: 10 consecutive weeks

Qualifications: The ideal candidate will have: 0 C/ }) U1 Q x* D2 `
- A passionate interest in film, video and media arts
0 ]8 `* F+ J. S" W2 s- Strong organizational skills
* S2 n6 W# N% Y! _- Experience or training in library sciences preferred
9 y. e u+ h+ w5 |- Exceptional communication skills, written and verbal # t) z w6 P8 z2 S
- Strong team player abilities
