/ T) v* c  m! s3 a, {FAVA is currently looking for a Librarian to join the FAVA team for 10 weeks in the
/ P9 _# W- M* N( fsummer of 2009. FAVA is a non-profit, charitable organization whose mandate is to
support the production and exhibition of film, video and media artists from Northern
8 e1 B+ ?6 \+ m5 ?3 NAlberta.

FAVA serves members with diverse backgrounds and levels of experience, ranging from
0 L! O( ~! r5 P4 k7 j2 Temerging, mid-range to established artists with an unwavering passion for film, video
+ C0 g& k6 y) @/ h& T3 ]and media art. FAVA offers: a variety of workshops for artistic and skill development; is a
resource for production equipment and post-production facilities; hosts events and
" z. ?1 f* l- m) C" ]7 yscreenings; and fosters and develops a dynamic media arts community in Northern
2 b! {. d, K8 X1 rAlberta.

Job Description: The Librarian will report to the Executive Director and work with the
1 {9 X7 T" x6 d9 xFAVA staff by organizing and updating two libraries: the film, video and digital library; as
well as the script, magazine and book library.

/ Z+ @. X9 G; {1 EDuties:
, ]( r4 f, Q/ h, B: Y7 ^- Sort and catalogue the film, video and digital library
- Sort and catalogue scripts, magazine and books
- Implement a catalogue template for future use
# ^: d: i* L/ p3 B- D- Update and develop loaning policy and procedure
9 R( B2 n' J0 j. @" v' i- Enforce FAVA’s standard of use policies where applicable

- Applicants must be unemployed and attending (or have recently completed) a post-
secondary training, university preferred
- Wage is $15.00 per hour, 35 hours per week

Qualifications: The ideal candidate will have:
: \0 S5 j( N+ W4 w! r4 g5 l. X2 T- A passionate interest in film, video and media arts
+ o/ w7 l1 _" C- [* p3 ~- Strong organizational skills
) D4 l9 p# W' f  d- Experience or training in library sciences preferred
  k# @  Q! i+ Q$ G9 V6 E  j- Exceptional communication skills, written and verbal  
; e" [3 `" B( ^5 G) e3 r( W: ]- Strong team player abilities
- Interest in working for an arts organization that is governed by a Board of Directors
