8 Z6 {# R3 c& E) X6 o: l% F5 Ysummer of 2009. FAVA is a non-profit, charitable organization whose mandate is to
support the production and exhibition of film, video and media artists from Northern
2 w! _9 Z# v0 a* r$ e8 s# JAlberta.

+ `. _! A; x- @4 Z2 H/ `7 DFAVA serves members with diverse backgrounds and levels of experience, ranging from
emerging, mid-range to established artists with an unwavering passion for film, video
and media art. FAVA offers: a variety of workshops for artistic and skill development; is a
resource for production equipment and post-production facilities; hosts events and
# R' [+ O3 q7 h* {7 _6 yscreenings; and fosters and develops a dynamic media arts community in Northern
! \* u$ N3 i4 L( V6 d, ?" vAlberta.

Job Description: The Librarian will report to the Executive Director and work with the
FAVA staff by organizing and updating two libraries: the film, video and digital library; as
. k8 G6 z' b; Awell as the script, magazine and book library.

# E: `* L' c+ b% N' Y1 e- Sort and catalogue the film, video and digital library
- Sort and catalogue scripts, magazine and books

. l/ v) c$ U# F1 i, J7 |: g- Update and develop loaning policy and procedure
- Enforce FAVA’s standard of use policies where applicable

  l3 T, k' @- R5 Y- Funding for this position is provided by the Summer Temporary Employment Program
(STEP)
- Applicants must be unemployed and attending (or have recently completed) a post-
secondary training, university preferred
- Wage is $15.00 per hour, 35 hours per week
- Length of position: 10 consecutive weeks

Qualifications: The ideal candidate will have:
- A passionate interest in film, video and media arts
- Strong organizational skills
  N2 S7 o# m8 M' }( d! W& r- Experience or training in library sciences preferred
- Exceptional communication skills, written and verbal  
% k8 R* V+ u: e% X4 H4 J- Strong team player abilities
