summer of 2009. FAVA is a non-profit, charitable organization whose mandate is to n/ y) k a# J) f2 Y
support the production and exhibition of film, video and media artists from Northern 2 d# V- t9 ` _+ [, z' p
Alberta.

$ O( l$ w- U* Y% E! z- L0 nFAVA serves members with diverse backgrounds and levels of experience, ranging from 1 R$ S! ]5 g3 C3 y0 E
emerging, mid-range to established artists with an unwavering passion for film, video
" M+ I1 K+ k- v( h' J/ A* rand media art. FAVA offers: a variety of workshops for artistic and skill development; is a z! H" m/ d8 X- K
resource for production equipment and post-production facilities; hosts events and ! s N7 P2 H6 q
screenings; and fosters and develops a dynamic media arts community in Northern

6 r& M0 h. R! G C1 \0 o: KJob Description: The Librarian will report to the Executive Director and work with the
6 H/ a* M) A8 `5 m: mFAVA staff by organizing and updating two libraries: the film, video and digital library; as
- O; O5 Z! ]0 P7 C, h- n9 C) jwell as the script, magazine and book library.

Duties:
5 S7 |1 H- K; ^+ M$ e: a$ o3 v) n( [8 Y- Sort and catalogue the film, video and digital library
2 \) o; ^9 D( `0 x- T! ?0 }* e- Sort and catalogue scripts, magazine and books - L* a$ p! ^! s- g# F, p6 I1 [
- Implement a catalogue template for future use 9 S2 z' \9 }) J; W% j, e- S3 I
- Update and develop loaning policy and procedure

- Applicants must be unemployed and attending (or have recently completed) a post-* s0 M9 U- s y4 I+ t* k7 D: s. M8 g" B

- Wage is $15.00 per hour, 35 hours per week # i+ c' b* P+ |/ J
- Length of position: 10 consecutive weeks 0 i6 v) M" O* [6 f3 E* X2 _0 f

Qualifications: The ideal candidate will have:
* ]7 `+ M: k3 Z( `( g" b- A passionate interest in film, video and media arts
$ E0 G3 d' @/ V9 w" D- Strong organizational skills
3 w' @, L4 U0 e- Experience or training in library sciences preferred / K( r, [7 f% B
- Exceptional communication skills, written and verbal
