summer of 2009. FAVA is a non-profit, charitable organization whose mandate is to

FAVA serves members with diverse backgrounds and levels of experience, ranging from ! A) H! K7 Q6 i" t/ p- `" p" q
emerging, mid-range to established artists with an unwavering passion for film, video
1 o- k5 Z2 [: z9 [, Cand media art. FAVA offers: a variety of workshops for artistic and skill development; is a 6 q0 z! s+ i; x; e( H
resource for production equipment and post-production facilities; hosts events and 6 a- Q; p1 @0 Y: S
screenings; and fosters and develops a dynamic media arts community in Northern * ] y" M, y9 @" i

Job Description: The Librarian will report to the Executive Director and work with the 7 a F. n _ w2 n
FAVA staff by organizing and updating two libraries: the film, video and digital library; as

Duties: 5 t# V9 {$ s( O4 X* I
- Sort and catalogue the film, video and digital library
& s$ e4 ?# O7 ^6 ~1 h1 G) n \- Sort and catalogue scripts, magazine and books & B# I+ ?" C6 i1 V4 @& j9 r* Z9 Z
- Implement a catalogue template for future use
; D5 ]/ e5 n/ }: L8 o1 G8 D3 i+ V- Update and develop loaning policy and procedure
% Y% l Y' ?6 j( F) h- Enforce FAVA’s standard of use policies where applicable ( F# d& f$ n2 g& v1 d1 S/ M3 J

- Wage is $15.00 per hour, 35 hours per week 3 H( o+ d/ S- b, i

Qualifications: The ideal candidate will have:
4 m! a. ]8 x: \- A passionate interest in film, video and media arts . J3 E; h# |; R$ T
- Strong organizational skills : V8 {( |" g6 q* R
- Experience or training in library sciences preferred * G5 V4 |& v- b3 I9 m$ K
- Exceptional communication skills, written and verbal ( Y0 I/ U7 R+ r+ e
- Strong team player abilities 1 j) u9 r9 `+ Z0 b! }3 `, B
- Interest in working for an arts organization that is governed by a Board of Directors
