FAVA is currently looking for a Librarian to join the FAVA team for 10 weeks in the ( Q% |$ W$ [: l/ [4 m$ ]
summer of 2009. FAVA is a non-profit, charitable organization whose mandate is to
7 c: F9 T( c+ b: W* d. A$ {& f+ {support the production and exhibition of film, video and media artists from Northern 0 |. ^4 h/ t9 l0 \2 V1 v) V
Alberta.

FAVA serves members with diverse backgrounds and levels of experience, ranging from
. [5 I* H* z/ I$ r$ iemerging, mid-range to established artists with an unwavering passion for film, video 9 N+ u+ `& g5 [: E) ?2 b) t$ a2 d
and media art. FAVA offers: a variety of workshops for artistic and skill development; is a
4 [! n( m5 n* z' M$ M4 G3 n& K$ iresource for production equipment and post-production facilities; hosts events and , Z3 |9 d6 A; e6 {( L6 e ~' k
screenings; and fosters and develops a dynamic media arts community in Northern 8 g7 `; D8 j4 u; X* m

- F. m& c+ e5 C9 J. _9 XJob Description: The Librarian will report to the Executive Director and work with the
9 b" \5 N% ]9 W; QFAVA staff by organizing and updating two libraries: the film, video and digital library; as
' T% c' T k8 u& s, Cwell as the script, magazine and book library. 9 x! \" e0 r- n L) \4 [

; ]5 ]! t" s- c/ U- Sort and catalogue the film, video and digital library
$ O6 d4 h4 [, J8 P) l Z+ I- Sort and catalogue scripts, magazine and books
0 f3 @ Y, T( T* n4 T. {9 g+ K/ R+ f- Implement a catalogue template for future use
Y9 A+ L5 L8 h: u$ M) `* f: B- Update and develop loaning policy and procedure 5 u; c) F/ n' D, n
- Enforce FAVA’s standard of use policies where applicable

- Wage is $15.00 per hour, 35 hours per week

- Strong organizational skills
- ^, k2 ]% @+ c( ]0 ?- Experience or training in library sciences preferred

- Interest in working for an arts organization that is governed by a Board of Directors
