FAVA is currently looking for a Librarian to join the FAVA team for 10 weeks in the 0 R4 S/ I2 p0 F1 J( @+ s
summer of 2009. FAVA is a non-profit, charitable organization whose mandate is to + ]4 c4 l% d% T9 x- f: V
support the production and exhibition of film, video and media artists from Northern

0 h+ l9 F! [% PFAVA serves members with diverse backgrounds and levels of experience, ranging from

( O( C, k' Q7 hand media art. FAVA offers: a variety of workshops for artistic and skill development; is a ' z) v, h1 k; ~

screenings; and fosters and develops a dynamic media arts community in Northern % ]) B% ?! N5 @& [$ f

: e `% ?9 j' x( r3 dJob Description: The Librarian will report to the Executive Director and work with the
7 J! g6 f L" t, HFAVA staff by organizing and updating two libraries: the film, video and digital library; as
( g) N, ~3 k5 D+ M7 y! S2 O$ @well as the script, magazine and book library. 6 D+ U9 M" [: j Y

Duties:
0 h% N- B, P+ M: }! F: a- Sort and catalogue the film, video and digital library
! ~6 O& V7 S3 N# W( [/ b- Sort and catalogue scripts, magazine and books
. V4 ?- A+ @/ C% }0 Q% C) m2 l; t- Implement a catalogue template for future use , M" t; k0 Z: L
- Update and develop loaning policy and procedure 2 r3 g5 d/ d- I7 G# Q: A. n+ i
- Enforce FAVA’s standard of use policies where applicable

secondary training, university preferred

- Length of position: 10 consecutive weeks

Qualifications: The ideal candidate will have:
" j2 u- V1 s# O( b- A passionate interest in film, video and media arts ' H; ^3 p% n7 H. U7 ^5 J7 V* k7 ^
- Strong organizational skills 6 T7 ?6 y( [5 A; Z) K& f/ E
- Experience or training in library sciences preferred

! O* o6 j* b5 O/ v2 q3 c- Strong team player abilities
% {* E+ u- t' c% |- Interest in working for an arts organization that is governed by a Board of Directors
