6 N0 D( [1 {7 ?4 D; @) zsummer of 2009. FAVA is a non-profit, charitable organization whose mandate is to
6 ~' G' e% Q$ u$ _' k( y; Rsupport the production and exhibition of film, video and media artists from Northern
8 T6 p. j7 O+ D& cAlberta.

FAVA serves members with diverse backgrounds and levels of experience, ranging from ( M2 h i! R* J) a/ o
emerging, mid-range to established artists with an unwavering passion for film, video 9 p& P$ }/ K4 ^' V$ {
and media art. FAVA offers: a variety of workshops for artistic and skill development; is a " }8 p/ O+ I X7 a6 b1 b
resource for production equipment and post-production facilities; hosts events and ' E& h+ `. p# S3 o
screenings; and fosters and develops a dynamic media arts community in Northern # O2 T3 a0 p7 L! O% ]# g
Alberta.

Job Description: The Librarian will report to the Executive Director and work with the
/ a' P# q+ z6 qFAVA staff by organizing and updating two libraries: the film, video and digital library; as ( H+ s4 e( d% V2 {; L; l
well as the script, magazine and book library.

+ E7 o5 j( r0 f" d5 u% f% h0 UDuties: 8 |" L& X q, p- m' v
- Sort and catalogue the film, video and digital library
* _2 k P) A2 N: W/ V3 ^* |- Sort and catalogue scripts, magazine and books 4 |4 N/ S" `4 N, Q6 p) P' @
- Implement a catalogue template for future use 5 g, b( Z, ]6 X
- Update and develop loaning policy and procedure
m q y8 F4 ~- Enforce FAVA’s standard of use policies where applicable ( j$ f# w# }$ k

- Applicants must be unemployed and attending (or have recently completed) a post-2 j2 G0 P( o r8 U
secondary training, university preferred

- Length of position: 10 consecutive weeks

Qualifications: The ideal candidate will have: + C6 K; n- | ^8 u: y" c9 c N
- A passionate interest in film, video and media arts

- Experience or training in library sciences preferred J' w: n+ J [4 b3 B6 ~
- Exceptional communication skills, written and verbal ) k7 i8 ]: p! L' s7 \. Q1 |6 a1 @
- Strong team player abilities
