% o$ |- _8 ~- I; ssummer of 2009. FAVA is a non-profit, charitable organization whose mandate is to
! C; R! ^8 o  g$ R: x( w$ xsupport the production and exhibition of film, video and media artists from Northern
  \4 W1 h" j2 L( {& n+ \Alberta.

FAVA serves members with diverse backgrounds and levels of experience, ranging from
emerging, mid-range to established artists with an unwavering passion for film, video
2 D# o6 ]* ~% M$ H( Nand media art. FAVA offers: a variety of workshops for artistic and skill development; is a
resource for production equipment and post-production facilities; hosts events and
screenings; and fosters and develops a dynamic media arts community in Northern

* d4 z7 Y/ [+ z* B4 L$ n$ mJob Description: The Librarian will report to the Executive Director and work with the
$ h' S5 D; f% g! NFAVA staff by organizing and updating two libraries: the film, video and digital library; as
9 C% o5 e9 A8 r2 O' ?1 awell as the script, magazine and book library.
7 r1 b$ m( h: o; Z5 \9 q# u3 L2 S
Duties:
- Sort and catalogue the film, video and digital library
3 x; Z3 I: k2 Y& i# U- Sort and catalogue scripts, magazine and books
: Z% f( N' m, V# a. y- Implement a catalogue template for future use
- Update and develop loaning policy and procedure
- Enforce FAVA’s standard of use policies where applicable

- Funding for this position is provided by the Summer Temporary Employment Program
(STEP)
, A, U  M. ~% ?6 L3 e: @; s- Applicants must be unemployed and attending (or have recently completed) a post-
secondary training, university preferred
1 F' z( ~2 O3 O9 k4 j: b- Wage is $15.00 per hour, 35 hours per week
/ ?, b( R9 ?' i& T- Length of position: 10 consecutive weeks

Qualifications: The ideal candidate will have:
, t; X  e% x8 e0 A. l4 c$ f- A passionate interest in film, video and media arts
- Strong organizational skills
- Experience or training in library sciences preferred
- Exceptional communication skills, written and verbal

- Interest in working for an arts organization that is governed by a Board of Directors
