summer of 2009. FAVA is a non-profit, charitable organization whose mandate is to
; \3 ?( k9 b- ~! S" Q9 A! Xsupport the production and exhibition of film, video and media artists from Northern

7 y7 @/ H% d" ]. \+ D6 k7 \% y' K* kFAVA serves members with diverse backgrounds and levels of experience, ranging from
2 q+ F, m% [6 |7 Semerging, mid-range to established artists with an unwavering passion for film, video
/ e2 B3 N) Q0 Y/ `! d# \8 j0 x4 Q! Jand media art. FAVA offers: a variety of workshops for artistic and skill development; is a + K4 |6 H$ o' W# \" o8 B
resource for production equipment and post-production facilities; hosts events and : {5 u; z7 K+ x5 L6 r3 m
screenings; and fosters and develops a dynamic media arts community in Northern : E1 c; R; r' n' T

Job Description: The Librarian will report to the Executive Director and work with the 9 J1 p& S8 H9 ~/ x$ g7 @* [
FAVA staff by organizing and updating two libraries: the film, video and digital library; as
; m, [$ k; _! p0 fwell as the script, magazine and book library.
* n% k/ g' P5 N1 J( ^9 [5 I4 Z ( n, S5 h3 y. c/ k, M, U& H5 D/ E6 Q
Duties: 3 r) h; @. |. L2 i+ J
- Sort and catalogue the film, video and digital library
, F- v3 h3 _; |, o7 ]3 ?! h- Sort and catalogue scripts, magazine and books ! r- O/ d( J( V. C' b7 U& |. K
- Implement a catalogue template for future use 3 E7 l1 o& ~% p* v2 M
- Update and develop loaning policy and procedure ) o9 n. G9 b; b; G& `
- Enforce FAVA’s standard of use policies where applicable

- Applicants must be unemployed and attending (or have recently completed) a post-

- Wage is $15.00 per hour, 35 hours per week 5 A$ o5 S5 j' R U
- Length of position: 10 consecutive weeks $ n+ p% x4 D; h, W6 g4 f" _

- A passionate interest in film, video and media arts $ A2 A, J0 l+ V* l8 }
- Strong organizational skills + a! {% f8 O. _% H! A% _4 Q. Q: V- j- ~
- Experience or training in library sciences preferred , C' O8 L- a* Q: ~4 o) d
- Exceptional communication skills, written and verbal 0 V0 s0 C& L; J! I i% _" u' Q
- Strong team player abilities
