6 @! z& j% w% X1 A8 i" osummer of 2009. FAVA is a non-profit, charitable organization whose mandate is to
( G" K8 J5 |9 t- ?" Bsupport the production and exhibition of film, video and media artists from Northern
1 ^/ P7 t6 `, X9 M. [4 x2 PAlberta.

FAVA serves members with diverse backgrounds and levels of experience, ranging from
emerging, mid-range to established artists with an unwavering passion for film, video
0 A; w) e: m1 n$ Yand media art. FAVA offers: a variety of workshops for artistic and skill development; is a
8 m5 G& `/ R- v" ?) w  eresource for production equipment and post-production facilities; hosts events and
screenings; and fosters and develops a dynamic media arts community in Northern
  |4 E# C/ r" L: ~7 }Alberta.

" b9 j$ R  [% E( g% JJob Description: The Librarian will report to the Executive Director and work with the
; J' k: B8 l: x2 Q) @FAVA staff by organizing and updating two libraries: the film, video and digital library; as
well as the script, magazine and book library.

Duties:
- Sort and catalogue the film, video and digital library
/ |4 R& ~- ~/ c: o- Sort and catalogue scripts, magazine and books
- Implement a catalogue template for future use
6 y/ t  X8 A0 N% d: L, r- Update and develop loaning policy and procedure
- Enforce FAVA’s standard of use policies where applicable

- Funding for this position is provided by the Summer Temporary Employment Program
(STEP)
- Applicants must be unemployed and attending (or have recently completed) a post-
! r% a/ |2 U' R! Lsecondary training, university preferred
- Wage is $15.00 per hour, 35 hours per week
- Length of position: 10 consecutive weeks

- A passionate interest in film, video and media arts
4 o5 t, T, `9 c7 X- Strong organizational skills
9 i9 U9 p+ J6 l- Experience or training in library sciences preferred
7 d8 {- ~+ K( s- Exceptional communication skills, written and verbal

0 T$ u  d0 b) b- Interest in working for an arts organization that is governed by a Board of Directors
