' O" I, Y; a; u0 e) b3 Z4 P( u$ QFAVA is currently looking for a Librarian to join the FAVA team for 10 weeks in the
summer of 2009. FAVA is a non-profit, charitable organization whose mandate is to
2 I. U  N( p% j) asupport the production and exhibition of film, video and media artists from Northern
3 K8 N6 `  C8 l3 |. {Alberta.

FAVA serves members with diverse backgrounds and levels of experience, ranging from
emerging, mid-range to established artists with an unwavering passion for film, video
and media art. FAVA offers: a variety of workshops for artistic and skill development; is a
1 U9 U- ?; s, q2 h5 wresource for production equipment and post-production facilities; hosts events and
screenings; and fosters and develops a dynamic media arts community in Northern
Alberta.

! k% o; d: g  s% L. D. XJob Description: The Librarian will report to the Executive Director and work with the
3 A% G) S. k" ]6 a2 SFAVA staff by organizing and updating two libraries: the film, video and digital library; as
well as the script, magazine and book library.

: m8 o. I& g1 w2 t" S* N# GDuties:
. k4 ?1 z0 S- L* o8 [- W. c- Sort and catalogue the film, video and digital library
- Sort and catalogue scripts, magazine and books
/ r8 |  M2 D; v0 Q- Implement a catalogue template for future use
- Update and develop loaning policy and procedure
- Enforce FAVA’s standard of use policies where applicable

- Funding for this position is provided by the Summer Temporary Employment Program
(STEP)
- Applicants must be unemployed and attending (or have recently completed) a post-

% f2 o0 M- V( ?+ R) |- Wage is $15.00 per hour, 35 hours per week
- Length of position: 10 consecutive weeks

$ O: b7 H+ o' \* t- A passionate interest in film, video and media arts
- Strong organizational skills
- Experience or training in library sciences preferred

) Q) r& Y1 \2 Q# ^1 s. ]- Strong team player abilities
+ _# l% p- h: K9 {8 K$ D  J- Interest in working for an arts organization that is governed by a Board of Directors
