FAVA is currently looking for a Librarian to join the FAVA team for 10 weeks in the
) `: t- D& s* K7 Csummer of 2009. FAVA is a non-profit, charitable organization whose mandate is to 3 l# P7 B& I& D8 @& L' Q1 P% M
support the production and exhibition of film, video and media artists from Northern P4 p9 q$ S5 l# C, H. \
Alberta.

FAVA serves members with diverse backgrounds and levels of experience, ranging from

! `0 ?5 w+ c$ ?' c* Gand media art. FAVA offers: a variety of workshops for artistic and skill development; is a + Q$ X) u5 {; |- q. ?& K! Q- B0 C4 z+ D
resource for production equipment and post-production facilities; hosts events and

, n8 U0 I3 K; y0 A8 g" fJob Description: The Librarian will report to the Executive Director and work with the 6 i1 u9 n% C) v7 a
FAVA staff by organizing and updating two libraries: the film, video and digital library; as
# `/ ?# D4 g. K9 j6 @2 Q# Qwell as the script, magazine and book library.

- Sort and catalogue scripts, magazine and books 3 v, f: ~" o. k; l. g" l
- Implement a catalogue template for future use
. I% v: g" I! ]5 p* H' O& K- Update and develop loaning policy and procedure
' @$ O O# X3 Z5 |( Z- H- Enforce FAVA’s standard of use policies where applicable

Qualifications: The ideal candidate will have:
* j- Q" h6 k2 [& R3 R* T1 S- A passionate interest in film, video and media arts
* @5 t) a0 a2 _* s: i& l. k; l- Strong organizational skills ( ~3 C4 g" f% N
- Experience or training in library sciences preferred
& g/ R: o* |) T3 n' b u% {6 M$ q- Exceptional communication skills, written and verbal e0 ?. {" C3 k7 n( ~. |; s. z0 a
- Strong team player abilities
* \! _, g% h- F/ k- Interest in working for an arts organization that is governed by a Board of Directors * D5 q- ]7 W% U. ~# G6 z
