FAVA is currently looking for a Librarian to join the FAVA team for 10 weeks in the
& t: Y( Y8 C, g. F @* @) msummer of 2009. FAVA is a non-profit, charitable organization whose mandate is to * `5 g' I3 i8 }4 i) ]0 @
support the production and exhibition of film, video and media artists from Northern

FAVA serves members with diverse backgrounds and levels of experience, ranging from
9 h/ D: k2 r0 R" Z) U' wemerging, mid-range to established artists with an unwavering passion for film, video
3 u. [. F; z' r jand media art. FAVA offers: a variety of workshops for artistic and skill development; is a
# T4 C. ]; y) u& |! h% vresource for production equipment and post-production facilities; hosts events and + i2 C( D n* E' \( `
screenings; and fosters and develops a dynamic media arts community in Northern 3 w4 d O) n/ z6 }) _

) d) r! b7 {+ d: g/ r$ OJob Description: The Librarian will report to the Executive Director and work with the 2 @1 T' t4 ]2 L0 S& W
FAVA staff by organizing and updating two libraries: the film, video and digital library; as
( `1 O' r; q+ ~1 N: l3 Wwell as the script, magazine and book library.

- Sort and catalogue the film, video and digital library
1 Q O; s; A3 c2 l, Z+ F2 P0 N a- Sort and catalogue scripts, magazine and books
% ?1 k0 i: G' C& S" I- Implement a catalogue template for future use
8 D% Q" D* E/ E+ D) O% b- Update and develop loaning policy and procedure
% Q3 ^0 k. }3 `+ S; G; I- Enforce FAVA’s standard of use policies where applicable 8 v$ i/ |5 ~- C4 z1 }5 d

- Wage is $15.00 per hour, 35 hours per week

Qualifications: The ideal candidate will have: ! M8 I+ b7 ?( M% j( _
- A passionate interest in film, video and media arts
9 e/ ^( A" t8 z# o- Strong organizational skills : _; z; j2 @9 H) R
- Experience or training in library sciences preferred 1 X% V! g* z3 s* G7 G5 p( w7 e
- Exceptional communication skills, written and verbal
