FAVA is currently looking for a Librarian to join the FAVA team for 10 weeks in the 6 b; d( i! Y2 _$ i$ v( Z3 W$ L. D
summer of 2009. FAVA is a non-profit, charitable organization whose mandate is to 0 o2 v5 Q6 V0 n% J, U9 M6 U7 L. v* r
support the production and exhibition of film, video and media artists from Northern 7 d; q; w1 q/ c/ X9 A, Y

emerging, mid-range to established artists with an unwavering passion for film, video , D j( J& Z# D# f% Y
and media art. FAVA offers: a variety of workshops for artistic and skill development; is a 2 c @4 o5 y# s- d- _* l3 i' z8 X
resource for production equipment and post-production facilities; hosts events and
$ _# q9 h. y" ] H3 ~. Lscreenings; and fosters and develops a dynamic media arts community in Northern

FAVA staff by organizing and updating two libraries: the film, video and digital library; as ' g# w t5 u+ T! o

5 w7 w! G+ w8 ^' U' |- Sort and catalogue the film, video and digital library
2 R& `; P* j1 A% m6 k- g! j6 ~- Sort and catalogue scripts, magazine and books
" y- B+ u' D. q1 v- Implement a catalogue template for future use
" Z. w9 U3 [" ~/ t* ], r- Update and develop loaning policy and procedure
: J( q& f7 [8 o2 \! ?1 D1 [- Enforce FAVA’s standard of use policies where applicable

- Length of position: 10 consecutive weeks

- Strong organizational skills
2 n D2 k% z6 a- Experience or training in library sciences preferred
6 E* f# X0 G! v$ Y8 @8 S- Exceptional communication skills, written and verbal
