FAVA is currently looking for a Librarian to join the FAVA team for 10 weeks in the - d$ l( X( K0 [% x) x3 ? n" O
summer of 2009. FAVA is a non-profit, charitable organization whose mandate is to # m# L# B; _1 J8 W1 P: n
support the production and exhibition of film, video and media artists from Northern / C* y5 n' I$ y7 J6 u$ [
Alberta.

emerging, mid-range to established artists with an unwavering passion for film, video 2 F' Q" ?# g9 g2 V
and media art. FAVA offers: a variety of workshops for artistic and skill development; is a
0 O. n) [+ O- S7 H5 v; mresource for production equipment and post-production facilities; hosts events and - `0 t8 R, Q0 ]. Z
screenings; and fosters and develops a dynamic media arts community in Northern

( `) ]3 L( X3 l8 p Q0 Z" GJob Description: The Librarian will report to the Executive Director and work with the
7 [1 O7 O( B9 z8 q4 y/ n, a+ oFAVA staff by organizing and updating two libraries: the film, video and digital library; as
9 m; K3 v' O5 _0 E) {- ~. Uwell as the script, magazine and book library.

Duties:
! W/ @0 g' e4 c3 f6 @; s' z- Sort and catalogue the film, video and digital library
1 X& x. D' z7 B( d- H$ H- Sort and catalogue scripts, magazine and books
2 ?3 U0 T; c# n( B# @, `6 z: h- Implement a catalogue template for future use 2 a W. R7 |/ I1 l6 w: H$ N5 `
- Update and develop loaning policy and procedure ( o. \. v+ R4 i; \2 Z/ x
- Enforce FAVA’s standard of use policies where applicable 7 x# a$ W4 }* q" n1 E
& O3 [5 v5 T3 }$ e$ ^3 M1 w% G$ ]

- Applicants must be unemployed and attending (or have recently completed) a post-
9 R! {0 G& f; ~' ?8 Lsecondary training, university preferred 1 U* E9 D* R0 }0 t0 g/ x" b
- Wage is $15.00 per hour, 35 hours per week

- A passionate interest in film, video and media arts " U; J) j' u9 C0 }
- Strong organizational skills
