' s/ j& `, Z6 qFAVA is currently looking for a Librarian to join the FAVA team for 10 weeks in the
& h" a- [1 r$ k5 G" Y6 isummer of 2009. FAVA is a non-profit, charitable organization whose mandate is to
  `* w  r3 z: p6 l' A4 |/ ssupport the production and exhibition of film, video and media artists from Northern
8 e+ V# @; U0 q% I" f/ ]" GAlberta.

FAVA serves members with diverse backgrounds and levels of experience, ranging from
emerging, mid-range to established artists with an unwavering passion for film, video
* s* @' F/ B# D5 ^and media art. FAVA offers: a variety of workshops for artistic and skill development; is a
' ~2 Z! D9 G: q/ L% m- _9 K6 L+ eresource for production equipment and post-production facilities; hosts events and
0 \+ s+ Q+ l6 V; Ascreenings; and fosters and develops a dynamic media arts community in Northern
Alberta.

+ [! O& @5 x1 @8 ^3 CJob Description: The Librarian will report to the Executive Director and work with the
  a$ D7 I/ A3 j/ }$ M0 v# LFAVA staff by organizing and updating two libraries: the film, video and digital library; as
! C& A  i# ]: v8 R% m6 c2 mwell as the script, magazine and book library.

+ b; A+ M1 z, r( V3 k- Sort and catalogue the film, video and digital library
- Sort and catalogue scripts, magazine and books
2 Y- O) [4 m6 E  _  x; n- Implement a catalogue template for future use
- Update and develop loaning policy and procedure
- Enforce FAVA’s standard of use policies where applicable

(STEP)
' d: e. a$ D5 {1 {- Applicants must be unemployed and attending (or have recently completed) a post-
; S9 y) u6 |* S: u; t! |" v* ^secondary training, university preferred
- Wage is $15.00 per hour, 35 hours per week
- Length of position: 10 consecutive weeks

Qualifications: The ideal candidate will have:
- A passionate interest in film, video and media arts
- Strong organizational skills
  A8 _4 o1 L3 ?+ v! Z) Z- Experience or training in library sciences preferred
- Exceptional communication skills, written and verbal  
, z* s- b, D7 m) o, N* b- Strong team player abilities
- m  T/ e/ J( H8 U- Interest in working for an arts organization that is governed by a Board of Directors
