support the production and exhibition of film, video and media artists from Northern , e1 Y& r$ ]( e; J! _% F
Alberta.

8 s l& p: |' iFAVA serves members with diverse backgrounds and levels of experience, ranging from
9 `1 U( x& ^ t3 ]emerging, mid-range to established artists with an unwavering passion for film, video 7 s+ [% S$ C7 o1 G2 K" x- p
and media art. FAVA offers: a variety of workshops for artistic and skill development; is a
/ }# S" t2 d# C! W- i3 ]( ~" mresource for production equipment and post-production facilities; hosts events and + c2 _8 t5 H) K4 U
screenings; and fosters and develops a dynamic media arts community in Northern - ^4 a1 l& Z% g0 T) _6 B. Y' U O

! A2 i7 a" `& W0 vJob Description: The Librarian will report to the Executive Director and work with the $ d6 J4 j6 U5 x5 R: M
FAVA staff by organizing and updating two libraries: the film, video and digital library; as $ x1 v K* u: U- A5 a
well as the script, magazine and book library.

Duties:
c- Y' t( P4 e( f- Sort and catalogue the film, video and digital library
0 E3 n( k) ?% L1 I$ x0 m2 m9 h- Sort and catalogue scripts, magazine and books
8 b! G3 ]: P: F- Implement a catalogue template for future use
+ J9 w! L2 |- ?- Update and develop loaning policy and procedure
! O! I5 E( {; a4 p- Enforce FAVA’s standard of use policies where applicable ! O" N3 i# _# F& r6 w

- Funding for this position is provided by the Summer Temporary Employment Program : `! F1 q4 r3 t0 n

- Applicants must be unemployed and attending (or have recently completed) a post-- R4 g/ ~' M1 n8 R
secondary training, university preferred 6 M' n7 f0 w0 `" m2 \3 `$ M
- Wage is $15.00 per hour, 35 hours per week * s. L9 E' i4 ]* z8 W& M: s
- Length of position: 10 consecutive weeks

- A passionate interest in film, video and media arts

- Experience or training in library sciences preferred
