3 }8 f( {8 P, gFAVA is currently looking for a Librarian to join the FAVA team for 10 weeks in the 2 c2 T- a) {( m) w
summer of 2009. FAVA is a non-profit, charitable organization whose mandate is to ( {0 \+ |3 W" h& y
support the production and exhibition of film, video and media artists from Northern
/ \$ ?4 B5 W7 hAlberta. |0 K- T" q- W# n

FAVA serves members with diverse backgrounds and levels of experience, ranging from
# A8 A, v3 O* z4 cemerging, mid-range to established artists with an unwavering passion for film, video : Z* l! k8 b$ d+ l- f
and media art. FAVA offers: a variety of workshops for artistic and skill development; is a
( V* E' r' `6 [% W, Tresource for production equipment and post-production facilities; hosts events and
8 P8 c1 Y- i$ n' Jscreenings; and fosters and develops a dynamic media arts community in Northern
/ `% C! b8 v2 ]2 MAlberta.

Job Description: The Librarian will report to the Executive Director and work with the ! T( ^3 p4 L( v# C c+ {" N( T" d
FAVA staff by organizing and updating two libraries: the film, video and digital library; as ' Y! g9 Z$ r* ` b7 U
well as the script, magazine and book library. 5 _5 }( e1 d r- L$ Z, E! S

Duties: 8 t5 P/ z( w f6 W9 n v
- Sort and catalogue the film, video and digital library ; Q; I& f3 B1 g9 x3 e
- Sort and catalogue scripts, magazine and books
: x3 P1 q2 t# q. v- Implement a catalogue template for future use 0 o- I* P. e: N
- Update and develop loaning policy and procedure
" D- _! {3 M0 i+ n v- Enforce FAVA’s standard of use policies where applicable x, i! U( z$ V

- Wage is $15.00 per hour, 35 hours per week 1 @+ C* `# i t% r+ j8 u3 B
- Length of position: 10 consecutive weeks ( _" ]& j1 `, Y D8 P7 {& z# p

Qualifications: The ideal candidate will have:
5 A- g5 T, {2 a# W) c! D- A passionate interest in film, video and media arts
0 K& C, X5 I( b& h: W- G- Strong organizational skills
+ X' K0 q" j: f! {8 N- Experience or training in library sciences preferred + k7 o6 e- E7 T- Y9 \
