& m6 X$ ^" D% M0 a+ d  y. iFAVA is currently looking for a Librarian to join the FAVA team for 10 weeks in the
summer of 2009. FAVA is a non-profit, charitable organization whose mandate is to
+ C  Y8 C2 j" A) c" {6 m$ K9 @support the production and exhibition of film, video and media artists from Northern
- A5 H# {2 {2 B6 e& e: \( }8 E, D. @Alberta.

FAVA serves members with diverse backgrounds and levels of experience, ranging from
emerging, mid-range to established artists with an unwavering passion for film, video
and media art. FAVA offers: a variety of workshops for artistic and skill development; is a
resource for production equipment and post-production facilities; hosts events and
screenings; and fosters and develops a dynamic media arts community in Northern

Job Description: The Librarian will report to the Executive Director and work with the
FAVA staff by organizing and updating two libraries: the film, video and digital library; as
well as the script, magazine and book library.

Duties:
9 v0 d4 J8 E4 x  ?5 u- Sort and catalogue the film, video and digital library
! v+ Y  q/ w7 Q2 w! ^9 y2 G- Sort and catalogue scripts, magazine and books
" E1 |! O# O2 f- ?! v) X8 Y4 f- Implement a catalogue template for future use
& v0 E- I' b0 Y8 t5 z4 X0 K- Update and develop loaning policy and procedure
- Enforce FAVA’s standard of use policies where applicable

(STEP)
5 B& K) D. f5 v- Applicants must be unemployed and attending (or have recently completed) a post-
: P) S. ~* |% a' x8 y  H5 M) B! ~5 R9 C" Dsecondary training, university preferred
- Wage is $15.00 per hour, 35 hours per week
) I2 r7 H! e# D- Length of position: 10 consecutive weeks

Qualifications: The ideal candidate will have:
7 v+ u( X% p. ~; [5 k- A passionate interest in film, video and media arts
+ ~2 I! E, V! Y& g% k% T- Strong organizational skills
- Experience or training in library sciences preferred
- Exceptional communication skills, written and verbal  
8 n- K/ ^* A+ b- P0 \1 u) P- Strong team player abilities
/ h3 v/ h4 E5 R% L- Interest in working for an arts organization that is governed by a Board of Directors
