FAVA is currently looking for a Librarian to join the FAVA team for 10 weeks in the
1 Z; q C+ U& |$ @, Xsummer of 2009. FAVA is a non-profit, charitable organization whose mandate is to
; Z% q9 Q" W+ C, X- u- C$ psupport the production and exhibition of film, video and media artists from Northern

FAVA serves members with diverse backgrounds and levels of experience, ranging from . n4 B& c" C7 @& b' g4 x+ t
emerging, mid-range to established artists with an unwavering passion for film, video ; d7 V3 l: q4 x" n' @
and media art. FAVA offers: a variety of workshops for artistic and skill development; is a
3 {" C3 J( Y4 p7 t( |resource for production equipment and post-production facilities; hosts events and 8 c1 k# z0 Q6 c8 `, z/ `# k
screenings; and fosters and develops a dynamic media arts community in Northern 9 \' {5 O0 P! _

Job Description: The Librarian will report to the Executive Director and work with the
; C; C" {1 R0 m" F3 jFAVA staff by organizing and updating two libraries: the film, video and digital library; as - f& b# H) @1 ~
well as the script, magazine and book library.

+ {: g" b/ e9 c; A% M) I+ b+ F9 u- Sort and catalogue the film, video and digital library ' S4 V D& c: F, c
- Sort and catalogue scripts, magazine and books ) T8 [8 c6 v3 U6 u5 L
- Implement a catalogue template for future use
# b: q( Q3 o1 Q! z: l5 Q- Update and develop loaning policy and procedure 3 Q ^6 ^/ ]) U4 k
- Enforce FAVA’s standard of use policies where applicable , U) n4 Q& ]) b1 C

- Applicants must be unemployed and attending (or have recently completed) a post-

Qualifications: The ideal candidate will have:
- q- h1 \9 A& U# b! z# Z6 m Q- A passionate interest in film, video and media arts : n& }8 v: ]% D8 y
- Strong organizational skills 6 G4 K/ F' v: {6 ^1 e4 \
- Experience or training in library sciences preferred ( w4 I j% x$ H# U" y4 J9 j& U; s* F
- Exceptional communication skills, written and verbal + K2 D; F& C) k/ Q
- Strong team player abilities
