summer of 2009. FAVA is a non-profit, charitable organization whose mandate is to

! Y/ F) f8 E$ }! ?5 o$ OFAVA serves members with diverse backgrounds and levels of experience, ranging from 9 s( g# X" Z5 |# Z* x
emerging, mid-range to established artists with an unwavering passion for film, video 9 q k. Q% P+ j0 a: h) Q' g
and media art. FAVA offers: a variety of workshops for artistic and skill development; is a / s+ I6 ] T, T f) ?
resource for production equipment and post-production facilities; hosts events and ' \/ P, R6 a1 f& ?* k5 M* ~2 u/ P
screenings; and fosters and develops a dynamic media arts community in Northern

Job Description: The Librarian will report to the Executive Director and work with the % X2 Q+ C$ J0 d1 \2 z8 b9 ]7 X: v7 L
FAVA staff by organizing and updating two libraries: the film, video and digital library; as / k# J: Y) m- C# a" k2 K9 e8 @( F
well as the script, magazine and book library. 5 [" {7 G1 @! S; [' u" D* J
# u/ |3 O4 C8 m# ?1 |2 G5 DDuties: " F5 M1 _1 v+ i% H+ Y$ n: O; k
- Sort and catalogue the film, video and digital library
9 ], z. L! L; E% } Q' ?; X) E- @- Sort and catalogue scripts, magazine and books
0 Z2 w3 Y& U6 i# P- Implement a catalogue template for future use ( ^1 S6 ^. @* ?3 c( n q
- Update and develop loaning policy and procedure

- Funding for this position is provided by the Summer Temporary Employment Program

secondary training, university preferred

Qualifications: The ideal candidate will have: * `: n+ F4 H5 e' {4 z1 a1 e# P
- A passionate interest in film, video and media arts
- _8 i* K V, P$ Q- Strong organizational skills
* _6 E* q3 I0 D5 r$ o- Experience or training in library sciences preferred
' r: Q m# [- k& R- Exceptional communication skills, written and verbal

- Interest in working for an arts organization that is governed by a Board of Directors
