summer of 2009. FAVA is a non-profit, charitable organization whose mandate is to

FAVA serves members with diverse backgrounds and levels of experience, ranging from
( w$ C. n N n5 a5 [3 B/ J: Temerging, mid-range to established artists with an unwavering passion for film, video & S) ~( E' c, j) C$ T
and media art. FAVA offers: a variety of workshops for artistic and skill development; is a v6 n9 x! D& C W
resource for production equipment and post-production facilities; hosts events and
' e0 C) k& E7 r, ` }screenings; and fosters and develops a dynamic media arts community in Northern

Job Description: The Librarian will report to the Executive Director and work with the
" u- a' j' B8 r3 _/ u$ \4 RFAVA staff by organizing and updating two libraries: the film, video and digital library; as * F" P, }. A8 \) M8 {
well as the script, magazine and book library. & k. z3 ^/ j x$ d
( Q7 B! T$ a, |% F/ ?+ ]! y) @Duties:
1 k/ g" K' m d- Sort and catalogue the film, video and digital library ; ]+ M; g4 i7 M1 B, {! o
- Sort and catalogue scripts, magazine and books
. x6 A" O ^& b; X h# j- Implement a catalogue template for future use - v v( a+ a- ]0 q2 I% p! W: `/ I
- Update and develop loaning policy and procedure
v6 f# A( j& _2 x% R$ ^ U- Enforce FAVA’s standard of use policies where applicable

- Funding for this position is provided by the Summer Temporary Employment Program

- Applicants must be unemployed and attending (or have recently completed) a post-" A" H5 u5 C8 I! _" Q2 }
secondary training, university preferred + e" l4 W# w! M% E- @5 q4 Q
- Wage is $15.00 per hour, 35 hours per week

Qualifications: The ideal candidate will have: : z, ^. Z0 g( D
- A passionate interest in film, video and media arts K4 A, O$ L$ w M( K- ?( y
- Strong organizational skills
$ U& d9 j* a9 f& s- A- Experience or training in library sciences preferred
. Q; c' E1 o2 X( ?! p1 h( i! a- Exceptional communication skills, written and verbal
