FAVA is currently looking for a Librarian to join the FAVA team for 10 weeks in the ( |) d/ C4 x2 Z" L4 y
summer of 2009. FAVA is a non-profit, charitable organization whose mandate is to
7 f; {1 \% y0 v6 W; \support the production and exhibition of film, video and media artists from Northern * d7 Z% s3 _- ^% U! E3 `$ D9 m! q

FAVA serves members with diverse backgrounds and levels of experience, ranging from
3 \. T. `9 }. Xemerging, mid-range to established artists with an unwavering passion for film, video 3 N) [# D; K: i* E. m2 M2 H2 s
and media art. FAVA offers: a variety of workshops for artistic and skill development; is a / `3 a/ f9 l: B
resource for production equipment and post-production facilities; hosts events and 1 F; ^3 K) d3 ?; o/ L- O+ k4 n
screenings; and fosters and develops a dynamic media arts community in Northern 4 w, L2 H# H& o7 W
Alberta.

; a V! X0 I) I; M, N4 cJob Description: The Librarian will report to the Executive Director and work with the : U) k' D1 @: t" o2 S n# v
FAVA staff by organizing and updating two libraries: the film, video and digital library; as

8 P, R# q! c) j0 D5 }1 a2 \- Sort and catalogue the film, video and digital library
* [. {: A* z( ~4 ^& g& ~: U% i- Sort and catalogue scripts, magazine and books 3 c; h" k7 c! q
- Implement a catalogue template for future use
" ]# k1 l! ~! t' F/ C- Update and develop loaning policy and procedure 3 [& e' m* i" [# A, T
- Enforce FAVA’s standard of use policies where applicable 2 ^5 Y: T% v. e3 b1 e6 J

- Applicants must be unemployed and attending (or have recently completed) a post-

- Wage is $15.00 per hour, 35 hours per week

- A passionate interest in film, video and media arts ( f# W5 e% O$ w X" W: S
- Strong organizational skills
0 f3 B4 l( D6 w' a) U: g. _ F. D2 S- Experience or training in library sciences preferred
C' L9 l1 C# E- U- Exceptional communication skills, written and verbal 8 l$ u. z* Y! ]; }
- Strong team player abilities
