FAVA is currently looking for a Librarian to join the FAVA team for 10 weeks in the ' a0 V! X% E' q5 u' l$ ^$ f
summer of 2009. FAVA is a non-profit, charitable organization whose mandate is to
$ o4 \0 }4 {! u6 ^+ l9 T; q" Z- |support the production and exhibition of film, video and media artists from Northern
# a1 C3 s, |% V. R" eAlberta.

' ?& ^; A6 E# ^6 UFAVA serves members with diverse backgrounds and levels of experience, ranging from 0 \* [. g4 M0 ^/ i" L: b% v
emerging, mid-range to established artists with an unwavering passion for film, video " y& `( d* [# A0 m3 f
and media art. FAVA offers: a variety of workshops for artistic and skill development; is a ( o0 m: ], `# @' ]9 O. r
resource for production equipment and post-production facilities; hosts events and 2 |+ Y9 `& E2 x% o% ]3 l" z7 j
screenings; and fosters and develops a dynamic media arts community in Northern % D' U3 D- U) t" u
Alberta.

Job Description: The Librarian will report to the Executive Director and work with the 0 [% l; ]6 e5 Z& `
FAVA staff by organizing and updating two libraries: the film, video and digital library; as
: n0 X- {5 F% i3 @& p9 _. w9 a. Pwell as the script, magazine and book library.
! |- v0 t5 N/ [5 o 7 `/ F* o; u5 W& v$ }1 V+ F! ^0 o" G
Duties:
& Q% o/ M. P9 P8 \( [# l: `) W- Sort and catalogue the film, video and digital library
* Z" H# k* V A1 y" U0 Z7 J- Sort and catalogue scripts, magazine and books
' a2 a- S9 ^3 z- Implement a catalogue template for future use
6 h4 K1 [0 g4 U3 y) l/ u- Update and develop loaning policy and procedure
, k* x, `" v4 D+ G6 a' X7 n- Enforce FAVA’s standard of use policies where applicable

- Applicants must be unemployed and attending (or have recently completed) a post-0 G+ s& e$ m! D
secondary training, university preferred 2 i8 @1 S1 n& L3 _5 K+ O
- Wage is $15.00 per hour, 35 hours per week p; d; g4 h. t" W: l8 |& j; k+ y, ?3 c
- Length of position: 10 consecutive weeks

- Experience or training in library sciences preferred 5 U/ O0 _1 Y, b" f. d
- Exceptional communication skills, written and verbal , V* n4 |9 u, |9 A
- Strong team player abilities
