support the production and exhibition of film, video and media artists from Northern

1 J$ _; G* U" x0 ]FAVA serves members with diverse backgrounds and levels of experience, ranging from 3 } ]5 k8 Y0 V( a) c5 O
emerging, mid-range to established artists with an unwavering passion for film, video
- b& g" j. y+ r( `2 C" K' hand media art. FAVA offers: a variety of workshops for artistic and skill development; is a : {2 S9 x1 k, d: r N
resource for production equipment and post-production facilities; hosts events and ; S7 i: `$ X( A/ N2 E
screenings; and fosters and develops a dynamic media arts community in Northern ; ~. l9 K3 W% b9 |5 e
Alberta.

3 R/ r: L. s6 W9 sJob Description: The Librarian will report to the Executive Director and work with the 1 a( S f; s( v* u2 m
FAVA staff by organizing and updating two libraries: the film, video and digital library; as ' g8 u- Z+ t, x
well as the script, magazine and book library.

- Sort and catalogue the film, video and digital library
1 H. _& \2 E# i2 x# T$ {6 l- Sort and catalogue scripts, magazine and books
8 h3 t3 b3 v' @' _- Implement a catalogue template for future use + s% N' C9 E$ o% [
- Update and develop loaning policy and procedure ; Q, d7 P$ Q) {! C$ j# F# q. P
- Enforce FAVA’s standard of use policies where applicable ) X$ S* C1 B/ J! A+ n* @

- Funding for this position is provided by the Summer Temporary Employment Program ! M( D( M% Q4 ^

- Applicants must be unemployed and attending (or have recently completed) a post-
0 R' o6 V2 _3 `9 W* T( Ysecondary training, university preferred * c( @' C! G* |) G6 b1 P
- Wage is $15.00 per hour, 35 hours per week 9 z# y( h! I5 J* s
- Length of position: 10 consecutive weeks

Qualifications: The ideal candidate will have: 7 H6 g( N; N( O* Z2 g* J( ]
- A passionate interest in film, video and media arts
4 H& f9 [. \7 K- Strong organizational skills y W- A) G9 i* x1 M
- Experience or training in library sciences preferred
# {& R1 e: h+ [- K9 g6 R1 M: L- Exceptional communication skills, written and verbal
# l9 K& v9 w, e: F( c3 J- Strong team player abilities \$ Q2 Z" G7 E
- Interest in working for an arts organization that is governed by a Board of Directors
