FAVA is currently looking for a Librarian to join the FAVA team for 10 weeks in the 4 c$ ]' o2 R5 A/ a
summer of 2009. FAVA is a non-profit, charitable organization whose mandate is to 5 ^7 C0 q1 i7 C
support the production and exhibition of film, video and media artists from Northern 0 K3 n4 \( x8 a" Q3 c6 y% X& q# b
Alberta. 0 [; y$ z' I' r. ]

FAVA serves members with diverse backgrounds and levels of experience, ranging from
r L- ?3 L3 M6 iemerging, mid-range to established artists with an unwavering passion for film, video " ^* z! c9 ~) Y% E
and media art. FAVA offers: a variety of workshops for artistic and skill development; is a
$ S- K4 y& H( v$ F: Tresource for production equipment and post-production facilities; hosts events and
! X7 u6 ?: G5 a% y6 y3 O7 r. E8 Mscreenings; and fosters and develops a dynamic media arts community in Northern

Job Description: The Librarian will report to the Executive Director and work with the
5 t, m' x) I) PFAVA staff by organizing and updating two libraries: the film, video and digital library; as " O' T" ]" b H5 R9 R! v
well as the script, magazine and book library. 0 ^ m; B5 }( p1 s. a& m# {9 `

- Sort and catalogue the film, video and digital library
6 J, d1 A: @8 e9 j- Sort and catalogue scripts, magazine and books
4 }, P; _. ` g7 ~- Implement a catalogue template for future use / r o$ |; k/ t+ n
- Update and develop loaning policy and procedure
2 y; p5 O& c- Q1 \- Enforce FAVA’s standard of use policies where applicable

Qualifications: The ideal candidate will have: 3 F$ B I: k* k# x) W) [5 S
- A passionate interest in film, video and media arts & W. c- Y9 \* b# Y+ @" P, N
- Strong organizational skills
9 t$ K$ J5 N& k1 O# n% ~8 d- Experience or training in library sciences preferred
- u$ ~7 y8 E3 J$ r+ y a6 f7 ^% q- Exceptional communication skills, written and verbal 5 y1 P4 J7 H0 w! I& I# f2 ~8 W
- Strong team player abilities
