FAVA is currently looking for a Librarian to join the FAVA team for 10 weeks in the
5 J% T& x, Q( [3 u, ]+ Asummer of 2009. FAVA is a non-profit, charitable organization whose mandate is to
/ \0 i0 ~8 e8 Y5 l; B: k' I/ G: s* Msupport the production and exhibition of film, video and media artists from Northern " o3 K( T" T* `

FAVA serves members with diverse backgrounds and levels of experience, ranging from
5 g1 Q. k6 @3 j: B9 N$ s( s3 _5 Wemerging, mid-range to established artists with an unwavering passion for film, video ) k9 S. M* M0 @( a. G5 w( r
and media art. FAVA offers: a variety of workshops for artistic and skill development; is a ( G3 P* m# z7 n/ V1 t
resource for production equipment and post-production facilities; hosts events and " L" W! f* H4 Y% C% h7 h/ H+ i5 o e
screenings; and fosters and develops a dynamic media arts community in Northern 0 T; `6 J& M% U( z

Job Description: The Librarian will report to the Executive Director and work with the - O/ m6 R& G; p: x
FAVA staff by organizing and updating two libraries: the film, video and digital library; as 4 l- g* {" f. b% `4 T
well as the script, magazine and book library. $ b& b- O5 e/ Y6 g8 [9 {4 W: Z9 j& V

Duties:
A2 n) v5 I. j/ @2 a' w. w- Sort and catalogue the film, video and digital library
! q4 \1 R/ N/ {# a% \- Sort and catalogue scripts, magazine and books , V. T; ^* g8 j( t" M
- Implement a catalogue template for future use
0 o" C6 f% \& G9 |- Update and develop loaning policy and procedure ) Z! Y' E. Y) Y: I
- Enforce FAVA’s standard of use policies where applicable

- Funding for this position is provided by the Summer Temporary Employment Program

- Applicants must be unemployed and attending (or have recently completed) a post-* p$ y8 _) }# h8 l" D
secondary training, university preferred + O0 E* ]2 Q7 O* h! O* U
- Wage is $15.00 per hour, 35 hours per week

9 L* O o( I4 D5 j& ]Qualifications: The ideal candidate will have: 0 o: n5 n9 o& ]8 ^) a
- A passionate interest in film, video and media arts
- d6 q8 Q! w+ D8 ^" s4 I/ h0 x. A$ f- Strong organizational skills

- Interest in working for an arts organization that is governed by a Board of Directors
