( g0 ~7 s; \: wFAVA is currently looking for a Librarian to join the FAVA team for 10 weeks in the
summer of 2009. FAVA is a non-profit, charitable organization whose mandate is to
support the production and exhibition of film, video and media artists from Northern
! A' i( x7 r5 P8 ]Alberta.

1 J$ _; G* U" x0 ]FAVA serves members with diverse backgrounds and levels of experience, ranging from
emerging, mid-range to established artists with an unwavering passion for film, video
- b& g" j. y+ r( `2 C" K' hand media art. FAVA offers: a variety of workshops for artistic and skill development; is a
resource for production equipment and post-production facilities; hosts events and
screenings; and fosters and develops a dynamic media arts community in Northern
Alberta.

3 R/ r: L. s6 W9 sJob Description: The Librarian will report to the Executive Director and work with the
FAVA staff by organizing and updating two libraries: the film, video and digital library; as
well as the script, magazine and book library.

- Sort and catalogue the film, video and digital library
1 H. _& \2 E# i2 x# T$ {6 l- Sort and catalogue scripts, magazine and books
8 h3 t3 b3 v' @' _- Implement a catalogue template for future use
- Update and develop loaning policy and procedure
- Enforce FAVA’s standard of use policies where applicable

- Funding for this position is provided by the Summer Temporary Employment Program
(STEP)
- Applicants must be unemployed and attending (or have recently completed) a post-
0 R' o6 V2 _3 `9 W* T( Ysecondary training, university preferred
- Wage is $15.00 per hour, 35 hours per week
- Length of position: 10 consecutive weeks

Qualifications: The ideal candidate will have:
- A passionate interest in film, video and media arts
4 H& f9 [. \7 K- Strong organizational skills
- Experience or training in library sciences preferred
# {& R1 e: h+ [- K9 g6 R1 M: L- Exceptional communication skills, written and verbal  
# l9 K& v9 w, e: F( c3 J- Strong team player abilities
- Interest in working for an arts organization that is governed by a Board of Directors
