FAVA is currently looking for a Librarian to join the FAVA team for 10 weeks in the

support the production and exhibition of film, video and media artists from Northern ; ~) P/ y9 Y# U+ r

FAVA serves members with diverse backgrounds and levels of experience, ranging from * q$ ~& d/ R3 `) y4 i& t' V* S
emerging, mid-range to established artists with an unwavering passion for film, video
, N/ k2 O: W3 Fand media art. FAVA offers: a variety of workshops for artistic and skill development; is a / K6 g* B/ g( q {
resource for production equipment and post-production facilities; hosts events and 7 u: }: K. L0 o9 u6 Q" G6 z1 F6 Y: u
screenings; and fosters and develops a dynamic media arts community in Northern ) \; n4 L B9 x& m9 J

Job Description: The Librarian will report to the Executive Director and work with the
; W4 E9 W% ]0 B- y$ @! ]FAVA staff by organizing and updating two libraries: the film, video and digital library; as + B- U( x( P6 n( n) g9 v- W
well as the script, magazine and book library. # r6 ^+ w d* N. K {* p
0 ~7 p. P# x, K, T. a$ SDuties: 1 i* r( M# b( e3 `2 k9 O5 q
- Sort and catalogue the film, video and digital library |: M$ Q7 U7 \! i) U
- Sort and catalogue scripts, magazine and books . e* M0 Q0 g- l! [: O ]
- Implement a catalogue template for future use
9 D6 q5 E/ R% S9 M# q4 y- Update and develop loaning policy and procedure " W' b( R: ?1 H4 _( _
- Enforce FAVA’s standard of use policies where applicable

Qualifications: The ideal candidate will have:

- Experience or training in library sciences preferred 3 {( |0 B4 n' k5 J
- Exceptional communication skills, written and verbal 5 _8 K0 N1 U# ~

- Interest in working for an arts organization that is governed by a Board of Directors 4 f) r' T4 N2 X6 B @+ w* Q
