& E4 {' ?6 C/ w" x$ x0 q, WFAVA is currently looking for a Librarian to join the FAVA team for 10 weeks in the
* F1 v6 J7 G( ^2 @0 @  V; Nsummer of 2009. FAVA is a non-profit, charitable organization whose mandate is to
support the production and exhibition of film, video and media artists from Northern
Alberta.

8 s  l& p: |' iFAVA serves members with diverse backgrounds and levels of experience, ranging from
9 `1 U( x& ^  t3 ]emerging, mid-range to established artists with an unwavering passion for film, video
and media art. FAVA offers: a variety of workshops for artistic and skill development; is a
/ }# S" t2 d# C! W- i3 ]( ~" mresource for production equipment and post-production facilities; hosts events and
screenings; and fosters and develops a dynamic media arts community in Northern
Alberta.

! A2 i7 a" `& W0 vJob Description: The Librarian will report to the Executive Director and work with the
FAVA staff by organizing and updating two libraries: the film, video and digital library; as
well as the script, magazine and book library.

Duties:
  c- Y' t( P4 e( f- Sort and catalogue the film, video and digital library
0 E3 n( k) ?% L1 I$ x0 m2 m9 h- Sort and catalogue scripts, magazine and books
8 b! G3 ]: P: F- Implement a catalogue template for future use
+ J9 w! L2 |- ?- Update and develop loaning policy and procedure
! O! I5 E( {; a4 p- Enforce FAVA’s standard of use policies where applicable

- Funding for this position is provided by the Summer Temporary Employment Program
(STEP)
- Applicants must be unemployed and attending (or have recently completed) a post-
secondary training, university preferred
- Wage is $15.00 per hour, 35 hours per week
- Length of position: 10 consecutive weeks

- A passionate interest in film, video and media arts
- g  t4 O7 j0 E- h- x- Strong organizational skills
- Experience or training in library sciences preferred

I have 3 years librarian expeirence in U of A, and believe I can fit in this postion perfectly.
