FAVA is currently looking for a Librarian to join the FAVA team for 10 weeks in the
- `/ \& n5 T2 asummer of 2009. FAVA is a non-profit, charitable organization whose mandate is to
& l0 s2 }' X9 }support the production and exhibition of film, video and media artists from Northern
0 y2 T$ \5 S/ G' E% i: ~0 ^Alberta. " Q0 c. p, q) s m4 {
, C" _# |/ e* t8 g* O4 v1 b) R5 l# |FAVA serves members with diverse backgrounds and levels of experience, ranging from
( E8 r( G& x# m# F: n/ @3 kemerging, mid-range to established artists with an unwavering passion for film, video
. F) K9 }' w+ ]) g- Fand media art. FAVA offers: a variety of workshops for artistic and skill development; is a
; @% k( a; |4 V3 B" Hresource for production equipment and post-production facilities; hosts events and 2 q/ ~% }6 h, @6 p
screenings; and fosters and develops a dynamic media arts community in Northern
3 }. g0 d! L8 s' G' Q/ D+ `Alberta.

Job Description: The Librarian will report to the Executive Director and work with the * |% t5 T" W1 }: S7 {: ^/ q
FAVA staff by organizing and updating two libraries: the film, video and digital library; as $ n0 V3 f4 }. O5 X: u
well as the script, magazine and book library.

Duties:
) G. T( Q$ I+ Z4 g9 l* t3 Z- Sort and catalogue the film, video and digital library
2 Q' A$ W/ s2 X6 u* W2 H- Sort and catalogue scripts, magazine and books
8 Q4 {2 r( Y+ J% p+ v- Implement a catalogue template for future use
) o- A: J+ n4 b8 R8 G6 `+ H/ R" |- Update and develop loaning policy and procedure
5 l6 b5 _- c* b0 T- Enforce FAVA’s standard of use policies where applicable 1 a: Y g, G' j* g

- Wage is $15.00 per hour, 35 hours per week

Qualifications: The ideal candidate will have: $ P, y. e: @2 G1 S" S
- A passionate interest in film, video and media arts
0 z0 l2 x' |$ g- Strong organizational skills
* C" @- ?4 `6 Q4 y: X {' U- Experience or training in library sciences preferred
4 T7 D5 b6 ]% g/ q- Exceptional communication skills, written and verbal
