; t' @. G) _" B5 g: A4 X3 Hsummer of 2009. FAVA is a non-profit, charitable organization whose mandate is to
, v  s& ~* n; p) ^& Dsupport the production and exhibition of film, video and media artists from Northern
Alberta.

5 V) B1 T0 N3 N4 ]' C; u5 M8 DFAVA serves members with diverse backgrounds and levels of experience, ranging from
emerging, mid-range to established artists with an unwavering passion for film, video
( R: `9 z, r* `( i) p' ^; c# y0 Y3 hand media art. FAVA offers: a variety of workshops for artistic and skill development; is a
; ]8 a& R  O/ gresource for production equipment and post-production facilities; hosts events and
screenings; and fosters and develops a dynamic media arts community in Northern
Alberta.

Job Description: The Librarian will report to the Executive Director and work with the
! M( m7 z- r9 C5 \0 @9 gFAVA staff by organizing and updating two libraries: the film, video and digital library; as
well as the script, magazine and book library.

Duties:
- Sort and catalogue the film, video and digital library
8 _- D6 T4 O7 g% a* ?- s- Sort and catalogue scripts, magazine and books
: v' U- |7 s7 y1 x6 X9 @- Implement a catalogue template for future use
: w" ~: j3 P) B- Update and develop loaning policy and procedure
$ _; ~9 u" s. L5 U% d. G- Enforce FAVA’s standard of use policies where applicable

- Applicants must be unemployed and attending (or have recently completed) a post-
" u% W8 n/ r% N3 z/ s# w' W3 _) ksecondary training, university preferred
7 Q  ^2 v% F: ?( u9 E: G' D- Wage is $15.00 per hour, 35 hours per week
: C; R3 U; U, x- Length of position: 10 consecutive weeks

Qualifications: The ideal candidate will have:
- A passionate interest in film, video and media arts
$ z  R# D- B" m& `6 x& s/ p  d- Strong organizational skills
- Experience or training in library sciences preferred
- Exceptional communication skills, written and verbal  
. v9 E% \& W+ X6 U* P- Strong team player abilities
+ w( i, N3 a  f# n( o- S- Interest in working for an arts organization that is governed by a Board of Directors
