1 i" }" k2 L4 UFAVA is currently looking for a Librarian to join the FAVA team for 10 weeks in the
) U! b2 F: k' @* Csummer of 2009. FAVA is a non-profit, charitable organization whose mandate is to % B. a& C' K' G' M4 `6 _6 i
support the production and exhibition of film, video and media artists from Northern
7 T+ J5 I6 g) @/ bAlberta.

FAVA serves members with diverse backgrounds and levels of experience, ranging from
7 n: {6 G8 @1 G! Zemerging, mid-range to established artists with an unwavering passion for film, video
: r% C+ }9 y0 z F, J: d" R; band media art. FAVA offers: a variety of workshops for artistic and skill development; is a
2 Y8 O6 V1 g; z8 x7 t5 cresource for production equipment and post-production facilities; hosts events and ' w; Z& l4 y0 s0 x7 f
screenings; and fosters and develops a dynamic media arts community in Northern % E6 q, ^2 C) l2 Q3 ]' A7 q# A

Job Description: The Librarian will report to the Executive Director and work with the : q5 o% I% F, h7 |- J/ E" Z6 K% H
FAVA staff by organizing and updating two libraries: the film, video and digital library; as % B4 f- F; Z3 V
well as the script, magazine and book library.

- g' B( f. U1 o+ N- Sort and catalogue the film, video and digital library , N# L3 X$ i6 W/ A3 X+ \: K
- Sort and catalogue scripts, magazine and books # K; Y; H0 g( T
- Implement a catalogue template for future use
: K I- D+ e8 a; k" Y- Update and develop loaning policy and procedure 3 B5 j/ I5 I/ F# s4 b$ v
- Enforce FAVA’s standard of use policies where applicable

- Applicants must be unemployed and attending (or have recently completed) a post-! g3 {3 L5 h3 A* l* u; z6 w' \
secondary training, university preferred 0 |1 M+ V& F) x4 A3 C. a$ }
- Wage is $15.00 per hour, 35 hours per week

+ x* n& k+ G9 a* a0 z* v; ?' }& C- A passionate interest in film, video and media arts 0 F7 ^6 Q* b& W9 a
- Strong organizational skills
8 T- k% w( M$ y! q8 L$ ]- |- Experience or training in library sciences preferred

- Strong team player abilities
