FAVA is currently looking for a Librarian to join the FAVA team for 10 weeks in the
; C2 m U& Y% b5 W# r1 u$ hsummer of 2009. FAVA is a non-profit, charitable organization whose mandate is to , H5 b4 u. a1 m# a1 R4 Z* D
support the production and exhibition of film, video and media artists from Northern
' l8 b7 ~ H1 w; ~- E: }5 kAlberta.

2 S! @: q) C% O l8 _% FFAVA serves members with diverse backgrounds and levels of experience, ranging from - C1 \3 d1 l8 P- g! m
emerging, mid-range to established artists with an unwavering passion for film, video 3 ?- u5 ?! U4 s# X0 b! N
and media art. FAVA offers: a variety of workshops for artistic and skill development; is a
( R* W( Z) u( f. X$ N0 Sresource for production equipment and post-production facilities; hosts events and $ J9 K% u0 [1 g1 G9 g( i/ h: i; t: O
screenings; and fosters and develops a dynamic media arts community in Northern
( a4 Q! h9 o EAlberta.

Job Description: The Librarian will report to the Executive Director and work with the
4 x( ^: R7 _3 \( k( Y8 ^FAVA staff by organizing and updating two libraries: the film, video and digital library; as 7 Z+ E2 G3 H W* P! o9 A- Y$ [" u2 P
well as the script, magazine and book library.

* L2 x5 [7 Y' t% M; k- Sort and catalogue the film, video and digital library " s8 _2 r" @! ^
- Sort and catalogue scripts, magazine and books ) h9 w# y$ D% w8 \7 S
- Implement a catalogue template for future use ( d3 X7 `9 o/ t
- Update and develop loaning policy and procedure
b! R) n; u' |- Enforce FAVA’s standard of use policies where applicable " Y/ \0 E: n% j

- A passionate interest in film, video and media arts
Q: Y! {+ o' r) H8 D- Strong organizational skills . R6 p7 ^1 z7 u& T( C) C2 X
- Experience or training in library sciences preferred . A% V; o+ x' B! i1 Q
- Exceptional communication skills, written and verbal
