) k2 _- N6 r: mFAVA is currently looking for a Librarian to join the FAVA team for 10 weeks in the
summer of 2009. FAVA is a non-profit, charitable organization whose mandate is to
! x. I' O3 C  A6 W( c! hsupport the production and exhibition of film, video and media artists from Northern
. G( D' d- W! ~% A. q5 YAlberta.

FAVA serves members with diverse backgrounds and levels of experience, ranging from
% [' _7 G) e# x' K8 }- d8 Zemerging, mid-range to established artists with an unwavering passion for film, video
and media art. FAVA offers: a variety of workshops for artistic and skill development; is a
resource for production equipment and post-production facilities; hosts events and
  o+ i8 b9 M$ @# Bscreenings; and fosters and develops a dynamic media arts community in Northern
Alberta.

Job Description: The Librarian will report to the Executive Director and work with the
FAVA staff by organizing and updating two libraries: the film, video and digital library; as
well as the script, magazine and book library.

Duties:
- Sort and catalogue the film, video and digital library
- Sort and catalogue scripts, magazine and books
- Implement a catalogue template for future use
) z2 l. y3 Q0 T: r4 J# {/ y' O; W/ Z- Update and develop loaning policy and procedure
- Enforce FAVA’s standard of use policies where applicable

(STEP)
- Applicants must be unemployed and attending (or have recently completed) a post-
) A3 l; u4 `4 `# S' _; Isecondary training, university preferred
; ^: H4 G) g9 n7 T* j3 P% x- Wage is $15.00 per hour, 35 hours per week
- Length of position: 10 consecutive weeks

* b- [* p% T: g$ a# e4 b$ D; {- A passionate interest in film, video and media arts
- Strong organizational skills
; J' q2 M2 d; G" G- [3 t- Experience or training in library sciences preferred
- Exceptional communication skills, written and verbal  
- Strong team player abilities
