* X# F  N, L# Z8 _- hFAVA is currently looking for a Librarian to join the FAVA team for 10 weeks in the
7 |4 e# `# r! n& p% Esummer of 2009. FAVA is a non-profit, charitable organization whose mandate is to
, k' ?1 l3 z' a. c+ L2 J1 wsupport the production and exhibition of film, video and media artists from Northern
Alberta.

  s! z1 {% G9 ]FAVA serves members with diverse backgrounds and levels of experience, ranging from
emerging, mid-range to established artists with an unwavering passion for film, video
and media art. FAVA offers: a variety of workshops for artistic and skill development; is a
resource for production equipment and post-production facilities; hosts events and
screenings; and fosters and develops a dynamic media arts community in Northern
0 ~6 A3 m4 v( k' uAlberta.

Job Description: The Librarian will report to the Executive Director and work with the
' f+ W/ |+ Y& [; _( vFAVA staff by organizing and updating two libraries: the film, video and digital library; as
3 o1 F3 O# A5 n& g) t4 {  swell as the script, magazine and book library.

Duties:
4 I" W2 z- j/ }; J0 {- Sort and catalogue the film, video and digital library
( \, A3 {" }8 \; q  H4 q' g- Sort and catalogue scripts, magazine and books
- Implement a catalogue template for future use
3 ^( q6 C/ N3 o- Update and develop loaning policy and procedure
9 t8 H( K8 X2 y* e- Enforce FAVA’s standard of use policies where applicable

(STEP)

, _/ e, u+ s& R  i! I/ w; k- Wage is $15.00 per hour, 35 hours per week
- Length of position: 10 consecutive weeks

- A passionate interest in film, video and media arts
- Strong organizational skills
, e- d( q: L" t- X3 [' ]* i7 \3 _7 h0 K- Experience or training in library sciences preferred
, Z5 I( q  r' V$ r/ U! M) W! z, x- Exceptional communication skills, written and verbal

- Interest in working for an arts organization that is governed by a Board of Directors
