8 o2 s: f8 U* T, aFAVA is currently looking for a Librarian to join the FAVA team for 10 weeks in the
summer of 2009. FAVA is a non-profit, charitable organization whose mandate is to
/ P- J* h1 U4 z4 ?2 [6 fsupport the production and exhibition of film, video and media artists from Northern
9 q* c9 A1 @( v" M+ D% \Alberta.

" M$ K) x! U6 X* ]' p  ~) k/ ^% l" ~FAVA serves members with diverse backgrounds and levels of experience, ranging from
emerging, mid-range to established artists with an unwavering passion for film, video
and media art. FAVA offers: a variety of workshops for artistic and skill development; is a
- c% P( j" x' X2 o& ^8 g/ {/ Presource for production equipment and post-production facilities; hosts events and
screenings; and fosters and develops a dynamic media arts community in Northern
4 y# h3 O) O; S3 d, i4 D) {% P% z: MAlberta.

- k0 _# h* m# g% Q% ]$ w/ `* dJob Description: The Librarian will report to the Executive Director and work with the
FAVA staff by organizing and updating two libraries: the film, video and digital library; as
- j$ I5 p. v- U3 s7 _! @+ I' @' Mwell as the script, magazine and book library.

Duties:
- Sort and catalogue the film, video and digital library
2 ?$ W* q; a+ h$ Q' L- Sort and catalogue scripts, magazine and books
- Implement a catalogue template for future use
- Update and develop loaning policy and procedure
- Enforce FAVA’s standard of use policies where applicable

$ G% G+ A5 Q4 `5 m$ s6 _- Wage is $15.00 per hour, 35 hours per week
- Length of position: 10 consecutive weeks

1 H5 ?9 V( N6 O$ QQualifications: The ideal candidate will have:
- A passionate interest in film, video and media arts
3 t/ s. l3 ]: ^( t- Strong organizational skills
- Experience or training in library sciences preferred
& W: d5 V& [3 [7 a7 ~- Exceptional communication skills, written and verbal  
- Strong team player abilities

- M+ ^: g7 r- Q' FI have 3 years librarian expeirence in U of A, and believe I can fit in this postion perfectly.
