- _5 E% U2 c) JFAVA is currently looking for a Librarian to join the FAVA team for 10 weeks in the
summer of 2009. FAVA is a non-profit, charitable organization whose mandate is to
support the production and exhibition of film, video and media artists from Northern
; f) m& k7 |& o9 ?, W) I& eAlberta.

FAVA serves members with diverse backgrounds and levels of experience, ranging from
emerging, mid-range to established artists with an unwavering passion for film, video
and media art. FAVA offers: a variety of workshops for artistic and skill development; is a
' L  K* I" ~& B$ m2 u7 cresource for production equipment and post-production facilities; hosts events and
screenings; and fosters and develops a dynamic media arts community in Northern
Alberta.

Job Description: The Librarian will report to the Executive Director and work with the
: t8 |& _# V5 t# A  A6 g- y' A1 QFAVA staff by organizing and updating two libraries: the film, video and digital library; as
well as the script, magazine and book library.

Duties:
- Sort and catalogue the film, video and digital library
2 h% P! p, Q( C7 p/ A+ ~: Y6 h- Sort and catalogue scripts, magazine and books
* t) M' C+ i4 c, r; ^- Implement a catalogue template for future use
- Update and develop loaning policy and procedure
- Enforce FAVA’s standard of use policies where applicable

; i1 e. C: j4 ^, I# t1 T3 d- Funding for this position is provided by the Summer Temporary Employment Program
(STEP)

secondary training, university preferred
- Wage is $15.00 per hour, 35 hours per week

+ h3 d0 _: B% J2 J9 XQualifications: The ideal candidate will have:
  i$ Z6 |. i! a+ v. l& l( X- A passionate interest in film, video and media arts
- Strong organizational skills
; x5 r- S: E' A# O  L5 W4 n- Experience or training in library sciences preferred
- Exceptional communication skills, written and verbal  
- {: A! z* x$ a5 v1 S' p8 ~- Strong team player abilities
