FAVA is currently looking for a Librarian to join the FAVA team for 10 weeks in the
" Z0 j' O& Z& y3 l6 @+ Zsummer of 2009. FAVA is a non-profit, charitable organization whose mandate is to
1 V' J1 Y2 w" zsupport the production and exhibition of film, video and media artists from Northern

FAVA serves members with diverse backgrounds and levels of experience, ranging from
: N- b. O+ z4 ~/ }' femerging, mid-range to established artists with an unwavering passion for film, video
( g3 ^" z6 c n* L- F4 vand media art. FAVA offers: a variety of workshops for artistic and skill development; is a
' I* |, E# {: `+ M: I: f2 k- dresource for production equipment and post-production facilities; hosts events and

7 S0 \& [) J& \1 A4 Y& XJob Description: The Librarian will report to the Executive Director and work with the 7 g2 Q6 @: @: h; d8 H! T/ t
FAVA staff by organizing and updating two libraries: the film, video and digital library; as 3 x0 ? y) e- O9 p8 }) U8 _* ]% Z
well as the script, magazine and book library. 4 m, E% l0 c8 Q5 i0 B/ ^$ t9 s

Duties:
( h# d; d9 U. [# T4 O- Sort and catalogue the film, video and digital library - j! }) R& {1 v0 @; ]- W2 g A' {
- Sort and catalogue scripts, magazine and books % _4 e. I$ x* ?5 }# e# { q# U, A- _' D
- Implement a catalogue template for future use
( F% W, h) x1 \/ ~: @% s- Update and develop loaning policy and procedure
" e- D2 {- Z( I" Z' Z0 ^- Enforce FAVA’s standard of use policies where applicable 3 D( j$ `& ~; y9 t7 W# @

- Applicants must be unemployed and attending (or have recently completed) a post-! F) c* P! q2 j% [/ o; x3 R& {
secondary training, university preferred 3 T& L( l" w. x# L! x
- Wage is $15.00 per hour, 35 hours per week 2 L4 q# p- }( f+ V
- Length of position: 10 consecutive weeks

- A passionate interest in film, video and media arts

- Experience or training in library sciences preferred

9 L: y& l7 ~( d1 v2 J- Interest in working for an arts organization that is governed by a Board of Directors
