FAVA is currently looking for a Librarian to join the FAVA team for 10 weeks in the
4 v, ]8 E1 w" osummer of 2009. FAVA is a non-profit, charitable organization whose mandate is to , L. U+ E9 |9 u' j6 Y2 b% f
support the production and exhibition of film, video and media artists from Northern
4 k- G) e N' `' E6 KAlberta.

& U: ~* H- \% G0 nFAVA serves members with diverse backgrounds and levels of experience, ranging from : z; m, M& X Y: n1 y
emerging, mid-range to established artists with an unwavering passion for film, video $ s/ L( f/ W* z$ c0 A2 Q5 K
and media art. FAVA offers: a variety of workshops for artistic and skill development; is a 7 O: t8 C( y8 }
resource for production equipment and post-production facilities; hosts events and

Job Description: The Librarian will report to the Executive Director and work with the
' C6 y( P) V0 V* r" ] n- MFAVA staff by organizing and updating two libraries: the film, video and digital library; as & K( U6 S# v$ [+ U1 \
well as the script, magazine and book library.

0 a; {+ {; Z& `) g- Sort and catalogue the film, video and digital library 7 o% H5 ]- ]8 E5 n% A. ^$ N' J( J
- Sort and catalogue scripts, magazine and books , F' h# u" U" l2 i" K# `- Y: T
- Implement a catalogue template for future use % A9 Y6 b: R5 Y9 \5 [6 K* x) E% z
- Update and develop loaning policy and procedure
( [7 \# w; V9 C& ^! c. O4 p* i- Enforce FAVA’s standard of use policies where applicable

- Applicants must be unemployed and attending (or have recently completed) a post-

- Wage is $15.00 per hour, 35 hours per week

- A passionate interest in film, video and media arts

- Exceptional communication skills, written and verbal
