summer of 2009. FAVA is a non-profit, charitable organization whose mandate is to
+ Z* j, x7 q7 msupport the production and exhibition of film, video and media artists from Northern ! A( `4 s! S8 v2 E* C( E
Alberta.

FAVA serves members with diverse backgrounds and levels of experience, ranging from

' q- F% v8 q1 x# D% x) }6 |and media art. FAVA offers: a variety of workshops for artistic and skill development; is a : `, q5 D' M* D2 ^
resource for production equipment and post-production facilities; hosts events and . H( s- |! ]& ? V/ F9 H5 \' I- @ |
screenings; and fosters and develops a dynamic media arts community in Northern

8 j( ]9 G' H5 w# }, hJob Description: The Librarian will report to the Executive Director and work with the ; W; e0 G y$ L
FAVA staff by organizing and updating two libraries: the film, video and digital library; as * t t" T) m7 y) p3 q5 X" E5 j: p
well as the script, magazine and book library.

- Sort and catalogue the film, video and digital library 5 }( f* P4 ?( B+ m
- Sort and catalogue scripts, magazine and books * |# X# ?6 {8 U( T
- Implement a catalogue template for future use
1 J; _- _ `, {, a3 E7 Z- Update and develop loaning policy and procedure
% _, l( J5 \3 T b5 ]& D/ P. _/ W- Enforce FAVA’s standard of use policies where applicable

- Wage is $15.00 per hour, 35 hours per week - P# b7 B" d% _, a$ J
- Length of position: 10 consecutive weeks % ?( Q" n) X' U5 k7 d

- Strong organizational skills
2 V' T( z2 g9 N) d2 X4 v, a( L- Experience or training in library sciences preferred 7 R/ d2 C# J: L: P' l) S
- Exceptional communication skills, written and verbal

- Interest in working for an arts organization that is governed by a Board of Directors
