FAVA is currently looking for a Librarian to join the FAVA team for 10 weeks in the % j' @) _. t: a# C) o
summer of 2009. FAVA is a non-profit, charitable organization whose mandate is to
. m. L; f+ C. | I5 f6 B8 [" bsupport the production and exhibition of film, video and media artists from Northern 9 k9 T5 T3 {5 u

FAVA serves members with diverse backgrounds and levels of experience, ranging from % p* c: P' a& U$ P, d
emerging, mid-range to established artists with an unwavering passion for film, video
5 t5 Z) i9 Z7 m3 F2 t# yand media art. FAVA offers: a variety of workshops for artistic and skill development; is a % v0 S! s5 f3 h3 O7 E2 J
resource for production equipment and post-production facilities; hosts events and
/ I3 ~4 s+ t# }( Y: t/ cscreenings; and fosters and develops a dynamic media arts community in Northern * v0 @3 h. T8 ~" Q

Job Description: The Librarian will report to the Executive Director and work with the 9 ]) _; j( x, o" c
FAVA staff by organizing and updating two libraries: the film, video and digital library; as
- {5 Q" m' k# e/ X; `0 c, ewell as the script, magazine and book library. k! \3 j# @1 K( R; J
6 D! v1 l% f+ V" _5 cDuties:
! L7 y d9 l H- Sort and catalogue the film, video and digital library
6 N+ W4 _! q+ o9 q3 ]- o3 |- N- Sort and catalogue scripts, magazine and books
/ z$ @5 |- Y2 k- W4 t. k- Implement a catalogue template for future use $ W- m5 C1 o3 O% b" j' x- S
- Update and develop loaning policy and procedure
8 n2 ]; k" E/ Y9 b1 K, O/ K- Enforce FAVA’s standard of use policies where applicable

- Applicants must be unemployed and attending (or have recently completed) a post-& |3 @8 M5 r6 G# y& W9 R9 Q
secondary training, university preferred * {0 ] E( [7 V7 C7 r
- Wage is $15.00 per hour, 35 hours per week e# D0 ?$ ?5 b4 N
- Length of position: 10 consecutive weeks

- Strong organizational skills ' D# U! f, S7 k7 ^/ s$ o
- Experience or training in library sciences preferred
