FAVA is currently looking for a Librarian to join the FAVA team for 10 weeks in the 3 H, g/ ~! X3 [! }
summer of 2009. FAVA is a non-profit, charitable organization whose mandate is to 3 N6 m2 f3 H/ x9 T+ Q: d, m9 f
support the production and exhibition of film, video and media artists from Northern

+ }% G' W8 y! z$ W/ oFAVA serves members with diverse backgrounds and levels of experience, ranging from 7 @4 B+ n) y- u2 ~' _0 I
emerging, mid-range to established artists with an unwavering passion for film, video " w* }+ M* I f3 _" f
and media art. FAVA offers: a variety of workshops for artistic and skill development; is a
5 N0 Y3 f* Y1 J' U2 v* s1 @resource for production equipment and post-production facilities; hosts events and
0 Y% D9 `' G8 F3 Iscreenings; and fosters and develops a dynamic media arts community in Northern 8 ?! j& H# d& T& w

Job Description: The Librarian will report to the Executive Director and work with the 5 E/ ~1 ]2 d* V6 I* i# ^. ]
FAVA staff by organizing and updating two libraries: the film, video and digital library; as 5 f. K: _ i+ ~" ^4 G/ d
well as the script, magazine and book library. " a0 R, `9 m' Z Z

1 ?6 `$ z2 K. q" |/ o% R- Sort and catalogue the film, video and digital library
! G6 n/ F- o& V: ]1 r6 z- i- Sort and catalogue scripts, magazine and books
2 G& m2 A: s6 K+ o- Implement a catalogue template for future use
7 u0 o/ `* F6 _8 d7 | p% n- Update and develop loaning policy and procedure
2 W% C! c! n! Q3 I% U0 N. u- Enforce FAVA’s standard of use policies where applicable - `3 O4 V( ~* ^! S! B

- Applicants must be unemployed and attending (or have recently completed) a post-
* m& h, h" X/ Dsecondary training, university preferred , j9 {8 N" Y4 T7 d O( I% q: c
- Wage is $15.00 per hour, 35 hours per week 8 _ o+ J* x, b* N" A% p
- Length of position: 10 consecutive weeks ! E% ^9 V% @& }" I# {& g q

- A passionate interest in film, video and media arts 3 W( P. {: o) L4 [, |4 J
- Strong organizational skills
4 Z$ [2 D- q& M) q' _- Experience or training in library sciences preferred
- Y$ h: m; y% N* E; G/ ~3 p/ t- Exceptional communication skills, written and verbal 2 I# V1 ^( A) V1 w3 B& l
