FAVA is currently looking for a Librarian to join the FAVA team for 10 weeks in the
summer of 2009. FAVA is a non-profit, charitable organization whose mandate is to
5 v( _  O, D1 M8 u5 B" asupport the production and exhibition of film, video and media artists from Northern
Alberta.

* T- ?5 b( @3 x: M4 X3 w8 RFAVA serves members with diverse backgrounds and levels of experience, ranging from
emerging, mid-range to established artists with an unwavering passion for film, video
$ K) e) d5 Y+ ~1 f0 r3 q1 Zand media art. FAVA offers: a variety of workshops for artistic and skill development; is a
resource for production equipment and post-production facilities; hosts events and
* T. L3 e' D# Dscreenings; and fosters and develops a dynamic media arts community in Northern
9 s$ }7 V' ]" W% h7 z1 ZAlberta.

, O% `$ J- j- Y7 h  V7 G% m! }Job Description: The Librarian will report to the Executive Director and work with the
FAVA staff by organizing and updating two libraries: the film, video and digital library; as
. {; w5 d( P3 D. F- G- qwell as the script, magazine and book library.

3 c  g. Z. t& f4 Y2 N; E5 ~+ jDuties:
- Sort and catalogue the film, video and digital library
- Sort and catalogue scripts, magazine and books
! a& l, J5 E. ~+ U  L9 }- Implement a catalogue template for future use
5 ?; B( {! E* K3 K9 K- Update and develop loaning policy and procedure
- Enforce FAVA’s standard of use policies where applicable

secondary training, university preferred
- Wage is $15.00 per hour, 35 hours per week

Qualifications: The ideal candidate will have:
& V9 W8 K- g3 i) u- A passionate interest in film, video and media arts
9 H9 R- H3 H3 M0 s* ~2 o( t4 v- Strong organizational skills
3 I) o' w/ |6 H: s; w$ U. J0 G/ n$ B- Experience or training in library sciences preferred
2 n% ~# a3 o  O; i; R: U# Y2 d- i& i- Exceptional communication skills, written and verbal  
- Strong team player abilities
