FAVA is currently looking for a Film, Video & Media Arts Assistant to join the FAVA team for 12 weeks in the summer of 2009. FAVA is a non-profit, charitable organization
0 G4 l" ^% y. ]* }( B* b iwhose mandate is to support the production and exhibition of film, video and media
8 x* N) {( H* @! F3 ?artists from Northern Alberta. 6 \5 } ^- |$ y, \

FAVA serves members with diverse backgrounds and levels of experience, ranging from
$ L8 d* B. G# R) T& e9 |+ remerging, mid-range to established artists with an unwavering passion for film, video " j! V9 h( c4 l5 g) n
and media art. FAVA offers: a variety of workshops for artistic and skill development; is a " n* t- B& T8 T! X. [
resource for production equipment and post-production facilities; hosts events and
& ]# T1 S$ X# H" e! `) z o- xscreenings; and fosters and develops a dynamic media arts community in Northern

Job Description: The Film, Video & Media Arts Assistant will report to the Executive
, [% a$ @& Z& `7 y# vDirector and work with the Production Coordinator and Maintenance Coordinator by
2 t% d5 s# U7 ]6 cassisting in the day-to-day operations of the Production Department.
* o9 f8 G3 u4 d4 \1 W. o( c + i' B, `& T4 z6 U+ B& p
Duties:
2 s) V* Q8 {' `7 S* k$ c* ^* j- Assist with research on acquisition grants
* `8 G, S# E" o" N: a+ k( k- Assist with production and post-production gear and facilities
; W% K' W7 V7 s) q8 g' V- {- Assist with equipment maintenance ! l- s' _$ l' |& z( ?1 D) a
- Assist with production logistics for programming events / s3 _0 ^. o# z3 x7 W
- Assist with communication with members and interoffice staff 6 G$ n/ b. n/ L- @
- Enforce FAVA’s standard of use policies where applicable " j: G" d1 {% p1 p: t
- Provide vacation relief

Qualifications: The ideal candidate will have:
