FAVA is currently looking for a Film, Video & Media Arts Assistant to join the FAVA team for 12 weeks in the summer of 2009. FAVA is a non-profit, charitable organization

artists from Northern Alberta.

FAVA serves members with diverse backgrounds and levels of experience, ranging from

and media art. FAVA offers: a variety of workshops for artistic and skill development; is a 6 j$ t9 x+ z+ ?9 e. M) D" Z6 L
resource for production equipment and post-production facilities; hosts events and 9 G+ c y5 Q- W) J" Q
screenings; and fosters and develops a dynamic media arts community in Northern # c! e! P6 v0 b0 x! P

Job Description: The Film, Video & Media Arts Assistant will report to the Executive
' c+ ]0 s7 w+ R$ K8 vDirector and work with the Production Coordinator and Maintenance Coordinator by $ |% h% y* [/ q G" Q" _* S
assisting in the day-to-day operations of the Production Department.
+ g L% b5 ?) B; V, u/ I4 J $ l; o6 N' ^. a& U6 p: R) b
Duties:
, K7 [% Q" b5 p2 h- Assist with research on acquisition grants
! B& m- D7 s9 k- Assist with production and post-production gear and facilities
; _* S D8 ~4 d- Assist with equipment maintenance
" A; e/ ~( q/ E( ]3 a4 @- Assist with production logistics for programming events - @+ K$ F' ~+ m$ U `
- Assist with communication with members and interoffice staff , m, B8 C% N$ F8 Y" y, t; k
- Enforce FAVA’s standard of use policies where applicable . R# X+ Q7 X) W! @0 O; I S
- Provide vacation relief V" g; T4 e) K4 }. V* S( Z( y& f
$ t( K3 E [0 `$ b# Y+ I

secondary training
8 U. q n, A1 {7 b2 T% I- Wage is $15.00 per hour, 35 hours per week

Qualifications: The ideal candidate will have:
$ V) q9 F3 q- L9 o N' l& y- A passionate interest in film, video and media arts
9 I; B$ Q* k% w' @- Advance skills in technical aspects of film and video equipment
( x! S& _! y0 S/ Q- Advance organizational and research skills x: ^8 t( g& P! I
- Advance skills of current trends in technology i.e. HD 9 f2 B, x& R* Y) m$ E; h6 Z z
- Strong team player abilities 3 Z$ `' f0 j( w) [3 x7 a% Z
- Interest in working for an arts organization that is governed by a Board of Directors
