9 I7 X% }; F. S5 E9 Y& CFAVA is currently looking for a Film, Video & Media Arts Assistant to join the FAVA team for 12 weeks in the summer of 2009. FAVA is a non-profit, charitable organization + d* O- O5 X% {$ F& d. }- j5 i
whose mandate is to support the production and exhibition of film, video and media
- c" t) k7 P/ eartists from Northern Alberta.

+ ~# E3 X% }; [% K7 ~! HFAVA serves members with diverse backgrounds and levels of experience, ranging from
+ b3 A, V8 { p% T" j" wemerging, mid-range to established artists with an unwavering passion for film, video # E4 i- J) o/ w5 B- M
and media art. FAVA offers: a variety of workshops for artistic and skill development; is a , w- O, o. G) W2 l% F! o+ m3 D) I
resource for production equipment and post-production facilities; hosts events and

Job Description: The Film, Video & Media Arts Assistant will report to the Executive ' _9 N. } [7 t$ F4 l
Director and work with the Production Coordinator and Maintenance Coordinator by : c) J7 H% B! q6 T
assisting in the day-to-day operations of the Production Department. ' I: W2 v4 T+ d4 s" @2 P( N
7 d. d( m1 Z6 T H; Z: fDuties: . ], w" O4 ~6 `
- Assist with research on acquisition grants
$ M+ ]9 Y& |8 `2 j# j' |0 e- Assist with production and post-production gear and facilities
2 Y' {- V2 y% c+ N0 A& k3 K8 t: P3 d+ v% e- Assist with equipment maintenance
2 ^' j1 R' ~. f0 c9 O! A- Assist with production logistics for programming events % i! ^7 Y6 F2 u. m9 q6 Z
- Assist with communication with members and interoffice staff
' g% Y6 h# V5 k$ f- ~( c- Enforce FAVA’s standard of use policies where applicable . i9 G2 q7 G, \ j; C N
- Provide vacation relief

Qualifications: The ideal candidate will have:
/ A+ @+ _6 e8 W, N+ u. ~, P' Y- A passionate interest in film, video and media arts
9 ]3 m8 l9 Q$ M P/ v# U- Advance skills in technical aspects of film and video equipment 3 r- t1 }& r1 V, I( X2 T
- Advance organizational and research skills 4 S( m1 |- L& _7 v3 \- x, l
- Advance skills of current trends in technology i.e. HD
, y; V: l! x1 d& L8 W6 e- Strong team player abilities
