^1 s9 ~- Y6 R8 A2 `FAVA is currently looking for a Film, Video & Media Arts Assistant to join the FAVA team for 12 weeks in the summer of 2009. FAVA is a non-profit, charitable organization 8 V* g; q0 e+ {4 {9 w: U6 O
whose mandate is to support the production and exhibition of film, video and media

5 L+ U; `$ V" p. wFAVA serves members with diverse backgrounds and levels of experience, ranging from
9 w+ l- w2 g! h' l) `$ d. Demerging, mid-range to established artists with an unwavering passion for film, video 4 }- t) m& G( S7 ^' N4 R
and media art. FAVA offers: a variety of workshops for artistic and skill development; is a
; o# S n L# Presource for production equipment and post-production facilities; hosts events and " y! }0 ]+ ], E2 `
screenings; and fosters and develops a dynamic media arts community in Northern

) D. ?$ P: J7 m' QJob Description: The Film, Video & Media Arts Assistant will report to the Executive
2 B+ I3 V+ ^. l. z1 [* b2 @9 ZDirector and work with the Production Coordinator and Maintenance Coordinator by % f3 i7 P. N# {
assisting in the day-to-day operations of the Production Department. 6 ^: {1 b4 D H( _% }

Duties: , k4 x$ a/ i8 T, Y9 ? q C
- Assist with research on acquisition grants
0 S" Y7 r$ t5 z/ ]3 q- Assist with production and post-production gear and facilities 6 N/ C. b* x, v+ W
- Assist with equipment maintenance + ]: K5 }& K! ~3 O" w
- Assist with production logistics for programming events
0 _/ k& e5 n; C" K) \" i% t9 l- Assist with communication with members and interoffice staff 8 M' `" a; |4 @ b# A+ x
- Enforce FAVA’s standard of use policies where applicable

Qualifications: The ideal candidate will have: 0 O. B4 ~; x8 |1 C2 w6 p
- A passionate interest in film, video and media arts
/ d. s9 m5 q3 j9 D4 L5 A2 r4 ^- S$ s- Advance skills in technical aspects of film and video equipment 5 d( t3 H2 F% N% \$ G$ m
- Advance organizational and research skills 8 E: ^0 U) N5 n" V4 V6 Z( K; V
- Advance skills of current trends in technology i.e. HD
( g0 Y0 ^& ]4 N9 X- Strong team player abilities # `; K& t: T+ a/ o J; s
- Interest in working for an arts organization that is governed by a Board of Directors
