- g% D0 D) V9 o0 H3 d2 eFAVA is currently looking for a Film, Video & Media Arts Assistant to join the FAVA team for 12 weeks in the summer of 2009. FAVA is a non-profit, charitable organization 5 e6 r1 [% I; ^$ x+ z A7 D& @
whose mandate is to support the production and exhibition of film, video and media 8 q1 C2 K/ D' o# T1 M% Z" k
artists from Northern Alberta.

1 P; j, Q. b ?( wFAVA serves members with diverse backgrounds and levels of experience, ranging from 1 ]$ r2 Q- o1 D! ^$ ^
emerging, mid-range to established artists with an unwavering passion for film, video 8 p6 q0 e0 A/ v" ]& H
and media art. FAVA offers: a variety of workshops for artistic and skill development; is a # g0 f! k1 S$ k% y' k
resource for production equipment and post-production facilities; hosts events and # d9 w$ X, w% n( \/ ~) \/ c
screenings; and fosters and develops a dynamic media arts community in Northern 6 a! b# O0 \: T" d8 r

: \7 Y/ j. R& h7 T0 v; F. I8 }Job Description: The Film, Video & Media Arts Assistant will report to the Executive
' e) ^" F$ G! ]. E2 ]* O( t, T D1 uDirector and work with the Production Coordinator and Maintenance Coordinator by
4 Q) \# N! z0 `; x9 u! M% t' L9 H7 Xassisting in the day-to-day operations of the Production Department.

Duties: ' U$ w+ t0 q. K
- Assist with research on acquisition grants . F& y* |; U$ e5 ]: ?' ]3 a- L- |
- Assist with production and post-production gear and facilities
) O' ^* `9 n3 B' j( e8 k- Assist with equipment maintenance 5 h2 H/ h9 M h4 _0 M+ C4 i! z7 T
- Assist with production logistics for programming events
3 [% m6 n5 G: \8 S2 a$ r, f: S- Assist with communication with members and interoffice staff

- Applicants must be unemployed and attending (or have recently completed) a post-" b; [0 l7 j& V0 d, |

- Wage is $15.00 per hour, 35 hours per week 9 o' m- m" \) T& q5 u
- Length of position: 12 consecutive weeks

- A passionate interest in film, video and media arts

( p& S; ^5 o4 ~9 Z2 P; w7 g- Advance organizational and research skills 5 }# }' N @, z7 P
- Advance skills of current trends in technology i.e. HD
+ L2 K0 }( \1 U2 ^4 r, t1 P- Strong team player abilities
