FAVA is currently looking for a Film, Video & Media Arts Assistant to join the FAVA team for 12 weeks in the summer of 2009. FAVA is a non-profit, charitable organization

" |1 j# V1 c- P2 land media art. FAVA offers: a variety of workshops for artistic and skill development; is a $ z8 ~$ i H0 N! H1 T3 Y
resource for production equipment and post-production facilities; hosts events and
( t! {, z$ g6 S: E9 X$ nscreenings; and fosters and develops a dynamic media arts community in Northern + P7 v2 t5 D; ^ @" L9 j! f

+ l" n1 v, {7 M; i8 Y @. t* D. C6 rJob Description: The Film, Video & Media Arts Assistant will report to the Executive ; x- Y* i6 k! @' P) t6 x& }) ?" D
Director and work with the Production Coordinator and Maintenance Coordinator by 0 @7 D1 R/ y! j9 _% c! X
assisting in the day-to-day operations of the Production Department. 6 S3 J; {5 y$ I
; U. n" E" T0 O8 _Duties:
( A( s# b( a# n9 J9 i } A: P- Assist with research on acquisition grants
; x0 a$ d9 ~) s7 ]: I- S- Assist with production and post-production gear and facilities
4 a8 _' o3 c8 @" ?- r; ^- [- Assist with equipment maintenance
# O; |* u4 M2 S- Assist with production logistics for programming events . Q: K$ U, }$ v! r. V
- Assist with communication with members and interoffice staff 8 n7 \8 v7 g: g. f0 \
- Enforce FAVA’s standard of use policies where applicable % z4 m# q. c, Y
- Provide vacation relief

Qualifications: The ideal candidate will have: - l1 f7 O( D+ ?* @) [
- A passionate interest in film, video and media arts 7 T1 j. r0 `1 R4 J u4 F
- Advance skills in technical aspects of film and video equipment
8 e% |0 {! r+ @+ ]* k/ S) k) \7 D) {- Advance organizational and research skills ) L0 q7 l3 Q4 |* z
- Advance skills of current trends in technology i.e. HD / r& Z3 ~/ v' V* g* G
- Strong team player abilities
