) ?4 d: Y6 U0 [) l5 MFAVA is currently looking for a Film, Video & Media Arts Assistant to join the FAVA team for 12 weeks in the summer of 2009. FAVA is a non-profit, charitable organization
  }# a( s5 Y4 C% e0 L. l1 Kwhose mandate is to support the production and exhibition of film, video and media
artists from Northern Alberta.

0 f$ `7 f# @1 u/ E% r, yFAVA serves members with diverse backgrounds and levels of experience, ranging from
emerging, mid-range to established artists with an unwavering passion for film, video
and media art. FAVA offers: a variety of workshops for artistic and skill development; is a
2 w/ p% T9 ?4 Uresource for production equipment and post-production facilities; hosts events and
1 r2 \% d  J$ ~$ H" x; v) O! C) N7 Oscreenings; and fosters and develops a dynamic media arts community in Northern
Alberta.

Job Description: The Film, Video & Media Arts Assistant will report to the Executive
Director and work with the Production Coordinator and Maintenance Coordinator by
assisting in the day-to-day operations of the Production Department.

- Assist with research on acquisition grants
7 |4 S$ u/ w+ B  M8 ^0 T& T" I- Assist with production and post-production gear and facilities
- z9 D- z/ i. }1 C$ B" A- Assist with equipment maintenance
- Assist with production logistics for programming events
- Assist with communication with members and interoffice staff
- Enforce FAVA’s standard of use policies where applicable
/ S# o6 l" [  J6 c" j$ P' b4 C2 H# j- Provide vacation relief

8 n, m- t1 S+ K( H' G+ ?9 m" }/ C) j- A passionate interest in film, video and media arts
- Advance skills in technical aspects of film and video equipment
- Advance organizational and research skills
- Advance skills of current trends in technology i.e. HD
- Strong team player abilities
