0 s. `* q+ C1 Q2 Q" ]. pFAVA is currently looking for a Film, Video & Media Arts Assistant to join the FAVA team for 12 weeks in the summer of 2009. FAVA is a non-profit, charitable organization
whose mandate is to support the production and exhibition of film, video and media
* l! ~8 p" D7 ^6 i  Zartists from Northern Alberta.

! @& c, @, \8 vFAVA serves members with diverse backgrounds and levels of experience, ranging from
1 I6 }  s+ `9 h! H3 Q# [) ^emerging, mid-range to established artists with an unwavering passion for film, video
2 x5 i; v2 E& E- A) C/ Qand media art. FAVA offers: a variety of workshops for artistic and skill development; is a
resource for production equipment and post-production facilities; hosts events and
screenings; and fosters and develops a dynamic media arts community in Northern
% J/ @8 z% H7 S+ Z6 \+ `Alberta.

Job Description: The Film, Video & Media Arts Assistant will report to the Executive
  o0 L; c# u' X4 G" T$ k& i5 [6 gDirector and work with the Production Coordinator and Maintenance Coordinator by
assisting in the day-to-day operations of the Production Department.

& l; K  A& O" X. fDuties:
- Assist with research on acquisition grants
- Assist with production and post-production gear and facilities
- Assist with equipment maintenance
0 z% W9 D+ O$ H' m! C- Assist with production logistics for programming events
4 c3 P1 P9 B: u5 ]( [5 N; g. Z2 r- Assist with communication with members and interoffice staff
- Enforce FAVA’s standard of use policies where applicable
- Provide vacation relief

Program (STEP)
- Applicants must be unemployed and attending (or have recently completed) a post-
secondary training
. O/ X0 {+ ]3 r* L- Wage is $15.00 per hour, 35 hours per week
- Length of position: 12 consecutive weeks

& g& z" r3 J  o# P4 cQualifications: The ideal candidate will have:
- A passionate interest in film, video and media arts
- Advance skills in technical aspects of film and video equipment
+ b, y% V5 Y  K8 C! g) Q+ C& N- Advance organizational and research skills
- Advance skills of current trends in technology i.e. HD
- Strong team player abilities
