6 T+ N$ H% U; YFAVA is currently looking for a Film, Video & Media Arts Assistant to join the FAVA team for 12 weeks in the summer of 2009. FAVA is a non-profit, charitable organization $ J |0 z5 K- V- I
whose mandate is to support the production and exhibition of film, video and media # @3 V |8 E. f1 c
artists from Northern Alberta. + c$ L0 U9 H, n! {& g/ w

FAVA serves members with diverse backgrounds and levels of experience, ranging from
U7 `& Z4 \) Yemerging, mid-range to established artists with an unwavering passion for film, video % E% s8 ?; {* o; e7 H6 G0 U# F
and media art. FAVA offers: a variety of workshops for artistic and skill development; is a # B! [4 V5 g9 L$ g
resource for production equipment and post-production facilities; hosts events and
! N) y0 n) v5 Q) a Escreenings; and fosters and develops a dynamic media arts community in Northern

Job Description: The Film, Video & Media Arts Assistant will report to the Executive
, ?, ]: a& I- t9 YDirector and work with the Production Coordinator and Maintenance Coordinator by ; J+ R7 W/ P2 l; N! S
assisting in the day-to-day operations of the Production Department. # P& k, w6 O0 w8 n4 c5 a; F
9 G0 }( m+ o( V+ u- ?5 BDuties: % x7 q6 c6 v( w$ r( |. k$ x
- Assist with research on acquisition grants 6 W" T( Q# I2 T3 a3 i& e* n
- Assist with production and post-production gear and facilities X2 j5 i; ^& K C( c; h/ ~
- Assist with equipment maintenance 3 w- O0 `0 H7 b& x- q G5 x0 t
- Assist with production logistics for programming events 0 ]8 u3 a- I0 {1 J t9 \/ s
- Assist with communication with members and interoffice staff " q7 g: q) ~* F( F6 U
- Enforce FAVA’s standard of use policies where applicable

Qualifications: The ideal candidate will have:

- Advance organizational and research skills . L: O3 i7 Y3 A! C. r
- Advance skills of current trends in technology i.e. HD & y- Q& a' J9 X
- Strong team player abilities
