artists from Northern Alberta.

emerging, mid-range to established artists with an unwavering passion for film, video 8 |4 q ^- v* J! x
and media art. FAVA offers: a variety of workshops for artistic and skill development; is a ) o% Q3 ~" T% I4 `9 h# Q
resource for production equipment and post-production facilities; hosts events and
: a, a# L/ A+ U f" Dscreenings; and fosters and develops a dynamic media arts community in Northern

Job Description: The Film, Video & Media Arts Assistant will report to the Executive & |4 j' T# ^) n4 b- ^. ~1 E( G. s
Director and work with the Production Coordinator and Maintenance Coordinator by , G# X& \1 ~" `, _+ C6 a' p
assisting in the day-to-day operations of the Production Department. # k/ D8 B- G. c. j8 v0 Q8 T( ?# e1 k
( _! {- J* u/ W" Z9 p8 D, q" K
Duties: 7 [$ z6 D8 O2 \
- Assist with research on acquisition grants
. K5 L: Q# W' D f5 W" h- Assist with production and post-production gear and facilities
: R! `3 x3 h9 H1 ~9 B( O2 G" ?- Assist with equipment maintenance
3 y5 N) p! z; Z& h8 r( n+ \- Assist with production logistics for programming events
! S7 O/ r* ?; f) ?. E" h- Assist with communication with members and interoffice staff
C- @2 P) V6 A$ Y/ `, ^- Enforce FAVA’s standard of use policies where applicable

Qualifications: The ideal candidate will have:

- Advance skills in technical aspects of film and video equipment
7 b1 z% \4 a/ H8 }- Advance organizational and research skills
- g3 g) l1 C7 J* Z1 v- Advance skills of current trends in technology i.e. HD
" X1 ~# L7 y7 L, c- Strong team player abilities ( h. c( E6 X% {9 f+ I a5 C9 l
- Interest in working for an arts organization that is governed by a Board of Directors : J% O4 P, b1 ?8 A
