FAVA is currently looking for a Film, Video & Media Arts Assistant to join the FAVA team for 12 weeks in the summer of 2009. FAVA is a non-profit, charitable organization
, m+ p# ~$ p! z- r4 B* A! l+ Fwhose mandate is to support the production and exhibition of film, video and media 0 z& d0 _- @( g7 t: r
artists from Northern Alberta.

screenings; and fosters and develops a dynamic media arts community in Northern

Job Description: The Film, Video & Media Arts Assistant will report to the Executive
) Q% H9 n$ W4 S$ iDirector and work with the Production Coordinator and Maintenance Coordinator by 3 S3 d* K }$ a0 H& ]5 v" s; [
assisting in the day-to-day operations of the Production Department.

Duties: - b3 P, p9 z9 v/ i: l8 ~
- Assist with research on acquisition grants
6 H% x" K8 Y$ U$ U6 D- Assist with production and post-production gear and facilities
2 D) W8 h' y ]9 Q7 ~& G$ z- Assist with equipment maintenance
/ c) o$ ]+ S" R1 Z- P- Assist with production logistics for programming events
7 C2 ^8 x7 N) D- Assist with communication with members and interoffice staff : o9 I2 c* B4 w& @' f" l; r# k9 o
- Enforce FAVA’s standard of use policies where applicable 9 L4 [1 O# _ ~
- Provide vacation relief

Qualifications: The ideal candidate will have: ?3 ?) X4 q; {. G
- A passionate interest in film, video and media arts
# U7 O7 V$ Q2 c/ {- Advance skills in technical aspects of film and video equipment . Q5 G2 j/ n& D3 E
- Advance organizational and research skills
( e# B4 G: z- X9 h- Advance skills of current trends in technology i.e. HD
" X* N# }. U F) G, g/ e- Strong team player abilities 4 l3 g, c7 Z. n0 }1 o. _
- Interest in working for an arts organization that is governed by a Board of Directors
