6 W( J. E$ V! a# s, x, c' K+ f) VFAVA is currently looking for a Film, Video & Media Arts Assistant to join the FAVA team for 12 weeks in the summer of 2009. FAVA is a non-profit, charitable organization
; W7 M: F1 K% Y' Q. Wwhose mandate is to support the production and exhibition of film, video and media 7 x. l4 `1 |4 m4 l4 J* n5 i

) [. e- e6 h2 N! |9 NFAVA serves members with diverse backgrounds and levels of experience, ranging from
% A& q! N7 y0 ?8 i4 P! `emerging, mid-range to established artists with an unwavering passion for film, video # @5 |1 M# r7 B8 z% `/ \
and media art. FAVA offers: a variety of workshops for artistic and skill development; is a 2 U( g& Q4 t+ C9 R" p3 ]/ L
resource for production equipment and post-production facilities; hosts events and
- l9 c' z5 @$ u( k/ Z8 sscreenings; and fosters and develops a dynamic media arts community in Northern

5 s4 e1 J7 v9 y" _' yJob Description: The Film, Video & Media Arts Assistant will report to the Executive
. J* C, g8 S! C7 m3 Q6 Q% `Director and work with the Production Coordinator and Maintenance Coordinator by ! g. {8 J7 X; [3 [8 q4 k" K0 S, d
assisting in the day-to-day operations of the Production Department.

+ F, N y; |$ [3 R! j2 g$ `- Assist with research on acquisition grants
+ ^! `) `# h8 x+ q% L% g1 b+ ?- c$ ?7 Z- Assist with production and post-production gear and facilities
5 F( P5 J$ v" N1 J! d- @- Assist with equipment maintenance % ~/ I/ B) V1 G/ d
- Assist with production logistics for programming events
; [! l% w& L4 [- Y5 d: I3 e$ D" i- Assist with communication with members and interoffice staff
8 Y! d( ~: x! K- Enforce FAVA’s standard of use policies where applicable : L3 B! _+ l' s( o/ e% I2 e7 |, f
- Provide vacation relief

- Advance skills in technical aspects of film and video equipment
2 _9 C. w d% m8 A- Advance organizational and research skills 0 W/ j7 L5 t: n/ C" Y2 n3 @
- Advance skills of current trends in technology i.e. HD

- Interest in working for an arts organization that is governed by a Board of Directors , V# B I+ Z" O2 i- J4 w* A
