FAVA is currently looking for a Film, Video & Media Arts Assistant to join the FAVA team for 12 weeks in the summer of 2009. FAVA is a non-profit, charitable organization

and media art. FAVA offers: a variety of workshops for artistic and skill development; is a
+ m5 z) b1 M$ B# P: J0 ]5 @6 }resource for production equipment and post-production facilities; hosts events and

' J+ d- X) D1 |7 K2 s, D! ]+ E4 AJob Description: The Film, Video & Media Arts Assistant will report to the Executive + k9 Q: Q: v" S
Director and work with the Production Coordinator and Maintenance Coordinator by ) F+ J9 {4 ~) Z# P4 i$ R
assisting in the day-to-day operations of the Production Department. % f& C& w( `3 n9 j
3 [: }' _. K. U' d/ ?2 W6 {0 `Duties:
/ o6 F1 p( W) }7 N9 `3 C$ T1 X- Assist with research on acquisition grants
6 n2 T. U) _! x0 W' C- Assist with production and post-production gear and facilities 4 A/ _3 d% e& K; e9 V1 m% O
- Assist with equipment maintenance + q( j7 s7 E& d4 O& u2 B" y
- Assist with production logistics for programming events , F' L7 e' j) {
- Assist with communication with members and interoffice staff ! ]3 m3 K0 ]5 t# Z4 ^% j
- Enforce FAVA’s standard of use policies where applicable

Program (STEP)
4 U S) h$ v* c1 Y# M- Applicants must be unemployed and attending (or have recently completed) a post-6 A3 D% h; n6 t+ p1 u
secondary training
7 C) ~+ l: ~0 n( ]- Wage is $15.00 per hour, 35 hours per week 0 l% h- }! W+ ^/ k8 T* M% x/ M
- Length of position: 12 consecutive weeks

- A passionate interest in film, video and media arts

- Advance organizational and research skills & |6 ?8 k( T5 c1 B; L K
- Advance skills of current trends in technology i.e. HD

- Interest in working for an arts organization that is governed by a Board of Directors
