FAVA is currently looking for a Film, Video & Media Arts Assistant to join the FAVA team for 12 weeks in the summer of 2009. FAVA is a non-profit, charitable organization , h4 x( M7 \' |, k( e9 X/ Y
whose mandate is to support the production and exhibition of film, video and media
+ v( s% K' @ \. g+ X* Aartists from Northern Alberta.

FAVA serves members with diverse backgrounds and levels of experience, ranging from
; p2 R& u X2 M5 _) }3 vemerging, mid-range to established artists with an unwavering passion for film, video 3 v1 g) r; j, u: G: y: Q
and media art. FAVA offers: a variety of workshops for artistic and skill development; is a . a" O0 u4 x$ W! z8 S* `
resource for production equipment and post-production facilities; hosts events and

- k$ V( g+ N# i2 A* W* nJob Description: The Film, Video & Media Arts Assistant will report to the Executive
8 Y; E4 q( B. o, @1 D- Q+ `Director and work with the Production Coordinator and Maintenance Coordinator by 3 K' m/ [/ f8 q2 T% S
assisting in the day-to-day operations of the Production Department. . G# y/ U- I0 u# u

Duties:
0 X8 V* Y8 T4 t; {- Assist with research on acquisition grants
, ^8 `' ]! w$ J0 t! J- Assist with production and post-production gear and facilities
$ R+ E7 G3 l! p% t& t' D! ~( b- Assist with equipment maintenance
- E/ z7 k- T& M! Z9 {! n- p8 I) H( e- Assist with production logistics for programming events
' p$ h$ y4 A8 m9 Q- Assist with communication with members and interoffice staff 2 H/ Z' D/ Y9 c
- Enforce FAVA’s standard of use policies where applicable

- Length of position: 12 consecutive weeks

- Advance skills of current trends in technology i.e. HD
