0 O @ f: a8 {0 b( ~$ ?FAVA is currently looking for a Film, Video & Media Arts Assistant to join the FAVA team for 12 weeks in the summer of 2009. FAVA is a non-profit, charitable organization

FAVA serves members with diverse backgrounds and levels of experience, ranging from 7 s4 d7 k- j8 y% \$ ]5 U
emerging, mid-range to established artists with an unwavering passion for film, video
( y, f; E6 N& a9 y( U1 }9 D# _and media art. FAVA offers: a variety of workshops for artistic and skill development; is a
0 v# t- p4 D1 u$ X; w+ E7 `# O2 Lresource for production equipment and post-production facilities; hosts events and
: o$ U6 Z' U- |# |" C8 Y0 h: Iscreenings; and fosters and develops a dynamic media arts community in Northern

" G0 P% ~5 S& V: @, z- u+ AJob Description: The Film, Video & Media Arts Assistant will report to the Executive
+ }5 Z% Z1 I; y qDirector and work with the Production Coordinator and Maintenance Coordinator by
/ Y, H* J/ p5 \2 Kassisting in the day-to-day operations of the Production Department.

Duties: ' @! z8 g0 x4 I& F4 H6 ~
- Assist with research on acquisition grants 5 {- u' w3 g8 m% v
- Assist with production and post-production gear and facilities
- N! w4 i# i2 Z1 h+ {' q- Assist with equipment maintenance
3 `4 M; t% `$ S% w- Assist with production logistics for programming events % ? ?! }- a: U3 o# S% r
- Assist with communication with members and interoffice staff - ?$ a" s: e3 ` M: k% U
- Enforce FAVA’s standard of use policies where applicable 8 p L3 b' w7 C9 w: s! Q
- Provide vacation relief

- A passionate interest in film, video and media arts

- Advance organizational and research skills 6 A6 w6 i4 R' P. ?
- Advance skills of current trends in technology i.e. HD $ \# {1 ^' m' r D* ?8 x
- Strong team player abilities @0 O1 d6 v; j! J
