FAVA serves members with diverse backgrounds and levels of experience, ranging from
% z9 h: A) Z) }8 ~; d5 Z# Eemerging, mid-range to established artists with an unwavering passion for film, video / A5 P8 {+ }4 k
and media art. FAVA offers: a variety of workshops for artistic and skill development; is a
3 r6 [7 o2 o; p2 zresource for production equipment and post-production facilities; hosts events and
) W0 G- |& r" X" F4 Zscreenings; and fosters and develops a dynamic media arts community in Northern
; @. S; S+ f* N2 IAlberta.

Job Description: The Film, Video & Media Arts Assistant will report to the Executive
5 R2 O% j8 X) j* v% L! lDirector and work with the Production Coordinator and Maintenance Coordinator by
" H0 G1 [8 _, v0 C: L \assisting in the day-to-day operations of the Production Department. " g9 V: ] @" R& h @+ j2 e$ ^
; D+ Z( `% k1 w9 @Duties: % A' a$ q- ]/ R. z+ P* d. N
- Assist with research on acquisition grants 4 G* R- u8 {3 L4 G6 |4 ` e
- Assist with production and post-production gear and facilities
- G: h/ ^1 e6 x" r( n# B" N: [+ ?- Assist with equipment maintenance B$ o/ N& g7 T6 B1 q
- Assist with production logistics for programming events 0 f4 D# Z: F$ j7 H( f3 X7 g/ L
- Assist with communication with members and interoffice staff # P- r6 S. v, @% Z
- Enforce FAVA’s standard of use policies where applicable ; V3 Z) V5 q9 c' X! |
- Provide vacation relief : Z* K( L. H% m' V4 e, A" h# V

secondary training

- Advance skills in technical aspects of film and video equipment 1 Q8 X; |" r: B, p+ R* l- l0 z
- Advance organizational and research skills

- Strong team player abilities
