FAVA is currently looking for a Film, Video & Media Arts Assistant to join the FAVA team for 12 weeks in the summer of 2009. FAVA is a non-profit, charitable organization

% H% E0 R B; n8 D0 LFAVA serves members with diverse backgrounds and levels of experience, ranging from
( V4 q4 `9 N$ N/ C5 Demerging, mid-range to established artists with an unwavering passion for film, video
3 e* J$ _& V; ?! A% u1 v! cand media art. FAVA offers: a variety of workshops for artistic and skill development; is a * p' Z) R1 _2 O& [+ \( c
resource for production equipment and post-production facilities; hosts events and 8 L3 B/ K3 C" I; M$ X0 D
screenings; and fosters and develops a dynamic media arts community in Northern / O- j# T- F7 d; i* _9 @/ t+ `$ w, M

9 z' g% J+ D1 u, h% t+ {Job Description: The Film, Video & Media Arts Assistant will report to the Executive
' i i" `; M- I: c8 i0 c6 fDirector and work with the Production Coordinator and Maintenance Coordinator by
; n4 e' \1 c) w4 T6 R [assisting in the day-to-day operations of the Production Department.

/ N* }3 R# A+ k6 e* k, gDuties:
! [# V9 s$ ^9 W! w9 U$ p- Assist with research on acquisition grants
# k6 x+ `. e( u2 m0 G; Q- Assist with production and post-production gear and facilities
. y2 e6 ~* ~" b+ F8 }) q+ L& Q- Assist with equipment maintenance % |+ t# \) ?+ H# @+ p, Q
- Assist with production logistics for programming events
1 ?/ m% Y: Y2 g- Assist with communication with members and interoffice staff
. ~3 c& m. Z/ T0 J8 q- Enforce FAVA’s standard of use policies where applicable . u3 s3 C9 J% l* i, L

- Length of position: 12 consecutive weeks

- Advance skills in technical aspects of film and video equipment

- Advance skills of current trends in technology i.e. HD - y8 l3 {( R. G
- Strong team player abilities
