FAVA serves members with diverse backgrounds and levels of experience, ranging from " @, l2 l; _& P
emerging, mid-range to established artists with an unwavering passion for film, video 3 ?1 y: z0 x; l1 z; x
and media art. FAVA offers: a variety of workshops for artistic and skill development; is a $ h( K& p! p5 D( w7 ?- z
resource for production equipment and post-production facilities; hosts events and 5 D# f) W" {6 \2 g$ e s
screenings; and fosters and develops a dynamic media arts community in Northern

Job Description: The Film, Video & Media Arts Assistant will report to the Executive
; C- L/ g$ c8 C/ G6 }Director and work with the Production Coordinator and Maintenance Coordinator by
- Y" O9 ?) @! I3 w4 Eassisting in the day-to-day operations of the Production Department. + e6 a! }. t: ^! f9 w3 U
4 ^! U+ \( [0 T& ?& E6 z. m p: R& EDuties: - y' f6 g3 Q; C; U" V N
- Assist with research on acquisition grants # k8 M8 B( T4 Q2 h$ a) m7 }; Y' T
- Assist with production and post-production gear and facilities
' p9 A# ^9 A! R- Assist with equipment maintenance / R6 w: Q- V t+ e( T' w! Z' q
- Assist with production logistics for programming events ! X# j' C# T+ K3 |+ ^1 O! `8 ]
- Assist with communication with members and interoffice staff

- Applicants must be unemployed and attending (or have recently completed) a post-2 y6 t7 F- F( m6 o

- Wage is $15.00 per hour, 35 hours per week ' G5 c" g0 P' x5 L
- Length of position: 12 consecutive weeks 3 y- r; Y/ }3 }- x& S" P

Qualifications: The ideal candidate will have:
! n. g, D+ i8 {, w5 t- A passionate interest in film, video and media arts * e; e* v5 L2 K" Z; j! `
- Advance skills in technical aspects of film and video equipment 7 l j# u5 E8 ]/ g( f8 U
- Advance organizational and research skills : E2 |3 N {/ y2 ]% ^7 _
- Advance skills of current trends in technology i.e. HD
' Q8 [2 d0 u2 C5 F7 d% z% H- Strong team player abilities $ P' e# D8 A2 p/ }
- Interest in working for an arts organization that is governed by a Board of Directors
