! x" e$ g; A' z6 _: QFAVA is currently looking for a Film, Video & Media Arts Assistant to join the FAVA team for 12 weeks in the summer of 2009. FAVA is a non-profit, charitable organization 8 k( n& o" E& B2 y# K, q. p
whose mandate is to support the production and exhibition of film, video and media

FAVA serves members with diverse backgrounds and levels of experience, ranging from
2 f( W& T0 c0 z- @ ~" i' i2 Cemerging, mid-range to established artists with an unwavering passion for film, video A* b* R! E+ E8 ^7 e; x8 G
and media art. FAVA offers: a variety of workshops for artistic and skill development; is a
1 Z/ K5 M/ ` nresource for production equipment and post-production facilities; hosts events and O" d' b: v: T8 z6 P
screenings; and fosters and develops a dynamic media arts community in Northern

Job Description: The Film, Video & Media Arts Assistant will report to the Executive
' a2 u, V$ K6 X0 ADirector and work with the Production Coordinator and Maintenance Coordinator by
# T% h- q& [" z) _3 ], A& sassisting in the day-to-day operations of the Production Department.

2 ~$ e/ {5 [: d7 ]+ [- T* L) Z- Assist with research on acquisition grants ; v4 s/ z. R$ R Y0 l9 ~3 K' N+ S( ^1 @
- Assist with production and post-production gear and facilities - I2 p3 T) E4 k. N) r% `& d n1 s
- Assist with equipment maintenance
% F" O8 `+ p8 B0 L5 [% q- Assist with production logistics for programming events : R5 K& @$ o; q0 ^
- Assist with communication with members and interoffice staff + G- d; ?% M! r! T: D. s
- Enforce FAVA’s standard of use policies where applicable

- Applicants must be unemployed and attending (or have recently completed) a post-

Qualifications: The ideal candidate will have:

- Advance skills in technical aspects of film and video equipment
/ Z$ ` W' j% L2 K- Advance organizational and research skills
% s2 N, n3 [" e- Advance skills of current trends in technology i.e. HD
