FAVA is currently looking for a Film, Video & Media Arts Assistant to join the FAVA team for 12 weeks in the summer of 2009. FAVA is a non-profit, charitable organization
5 g2 F/ p9 C& A0 E0 H6 E0 Zwhose mandate is to support the production and exhibition of film, video and media % [$ N; ^+ t$ E, f5 f! X/ ]
artists from Northern Alberta. $ \! \9 |- \1 @/ }$ S0 V
" d& f$ r z5 y# c! TFAVA serves members with diverse backgrounds and levels of experience, ranging from , s6 w* M& v3 W0 V( Q. A- l
emerging, mid-range to established artists with an unwavering passion for film, video
/ u% q! e0 r! Z' Land media art. FAVA offers: a variety of workshops for artistic and skill development; is a
+ g/ E+ |, E! ?; ~" v0 p( |6 e0 rresource for production equipment and post-production facilities; hosts events and
$ Q% ?4 N' P& J' h% nscreenings; and fosters and develops a dynamic media arts community in Northern

Job Description: The Film, Video & Media Arts Assistant will report to the Executive . H1 T! u' J1 D; ?4 z9 ^0 b
Director and work with the Production Coordinator and Maintenance Coordinator by + G8 q' c2 [" D/ d6 q& [
assisting in the day-to-day operations of the Production Department.

- Assist with research on acquisition grants " E8 ~+ U o4 E, ^) V- |* c9 i
- Assist with production and post-production gear and facilities ; V0 J2 p1 _2 M% P5 H
- Assist with equipment maintenance ' C3 G5 ]/ B/ H. i
- Assist with production logistics for programming events # X% s/ D! @. e! u1 a/ ?! x$ x6 I. [
- Assist with communication with members and interoffice staff $ a- p5 N- ~% q: C+ a- {, f7 W9 H
- Enforce FAVA’s standard of use policies where applicable

- A passionate interest in film, video and media arts 2 n% @/ Q1 |6 W
- Advance skills in technical aspects of film and video equipment 5 m7 [* N. I0 g5 t# C% J( n
- Advance organizational and research skills
* n- R, I+ @, w1 P8 z' g- Advance skills of current trends in technology i.e. HD 8 A, L* Y2 z3 J( y& W& p
- Strong team player abilities * r% f W8 K' c
