FAVA is currently looking for a Film, Video & Media Arts Assistant to join the FAVA team for 12 weeks in the summer of 2009. FAVA is a non-profit, charitable organization + e/ R. N, e$ O' C& k2 c
whose mandate is to support the production and exhibition of film, video and media
' J4 N* Z [+ kartists from Northern Alberta. 5 C+ B7 }, @! C5 z$ `# y$ U
" x, z0 X( \$ M4 w! k: EFAVA serves members with diverse backgrounds and levels of experience, ranging from ) `* N' a) D7 s$ i
emerging, mid-range to established artists with an unwavering passion for film, video ; W& [- c6 o6 d/ P. q' ]
and media art. FAVA offers: a variety of workshops for artistic and skill development; is a ! Q: h* x3 D& u, @
resource for production equipment and post-production facilities; hosts events and
- q0 s [3 h! Fscreenings; and fosters and develops a dynamic media arts community in Northern 4 X4 d s! i6 r* H

% Q8 E& @9 A( }' _Job Description: The Film, Video & Media Arts Assistant will report to the Executive
# l. J% ], K( N3 \/ ]& C) x" B8 z% eDirector and work with the Production Coordinator and Maintenance Coordinator by
( R* W! ~% b$ Massisting in the day-to-day operations of the Production Department.

Duties:
& H2 I8 J# N3 B: r/ ^- y- Assist with research on acquisition grants
; j# {$ M- W+ i* Y8 P5 e, }- Assist with production and post-production gear and facilities
+ U/ Z5 r6 f6 ?! d$ ~- Assist with equipment maintenance
( z: I% l% a; m2 X7 E5 f- Assist with production logistics for programming events
6 i; i; {7 N4 `* ^3 J- Assist with communication with members and interoffice staff
4 N! e0 ?9 y. f" h" R( _1 y- Enforce FAVA’s standard of use policies where applicable ' G2 M/ Q4 J# H* C. t

- Advance organizational and research skills
