FAVA is currently looking for a Film, Video & Media Arts Assistant to join the FAVA team for 12 weeks in the summer of 2009. FAVA is a non-profit, charitable organization
0 w: w2 j7 j' pwhose mandate is to support the production and exhibition of film, video and media
artists from Northern Alberta.

FAVA serves members with diverse backgrounds and levels of experience, ranging from
2 Y6 P" R# u* h  eemerging, mid-range to established artists with an unwavering passion for film, video
: B, Q/ o  e, a; ~; ?$ Uand media art. FAVA offers: a variety of workshops for artistic and skill development; is a
resource for production equipment and post-production facilities; hosts events and
screenings; and fosters and develops a dynamic media arts community in Northern

Job Description: The Film, Video & Media Arts Assistant will report to the Executive
- }5 \$ k! S) Z7 {5 c" dDirector and work with the Production Coordinator and Maintenance Coordinator by
/ f" U+ G9 E/ `3 Iassisting in the day-to-day operations of the Production Department.

/ |4 P  w, ?! xDuties:
6 P" g- A9 X) a" P; d; S; F- Assist with research on acquisition grants
' D4 I2 Q1 }/ }7 M) F* l- Assist with production and post-production gear and facilities
- Assist with equipment maintenance
, V) a# e3 q! ?; m7 @- Assist with production logistics for programming events
- Assist with communication with members and interoffice staff
# ]1 v  t; n  g! r/ U- G& x3 n- Enforce FAVA’s standard of use policies where applicable

Details:

Program (STEP)

secondary training

- Length of position: 12 consecutive weeks

- A passionate interest in film, video and media arts

& ]4 e% N% B$ ]8 |- Advance skills of current trends in technology i.e. HD
