FAVA is currently looking for a Film, Video & Media Arts Assistant to join the FAVA team for 12 weeks in the summer of 2009. FAVA is a non-profit, charitable organization
" \9 M& p! v* nwhose mandate is to support the production and exhibition of film, video and media

FAVA serves members with diverse backgrounds and levels of experience, ranging from
0 K( V0 K) a" a7 Q5 j+ J% f% Cemerging, mid-range to established artists with an unwavering passion for film, video
6 u& T# C+ y$ Gand media art. FAVA offers: a variety of workshops for artistic and skill development; is a
5 \. I* a9 A+ fresource for production equipment and post-production facilities; hosts events and + f }; O3 | c Y( s5 j; f
screenings; and fosters and develops a dynamic media arts community in Northern 3 T: J- Y* }: H3 ^: j l7 ~9 o0 Y2 g4 u

Job Description: The Film, Video & Media Arts Assistant will report to the Executive
# F. V0 N B7 \) LDirector and work with the Production Coordinator and Maintenance Coordinator by - }3 [( U) g6 o8 C& U
assisting in the day-to-day operations of the Production Department.

Duties: * X* d. {, w- G( c8 B; l
- Assist with research on acquisition grants
/ v! P& e0 U& `) _8 o+ S- Assist with production and post-production gear and facilities 9 ?; ?. ?. G8 ~4 N" @
- Assist with equipment maintenance $ I1 r4 h* D8 [8 R
- Assist with production logistics for programming events $ o# z u% q- S {; Q+ V
- Assist with communication with members and interoffice staff 0 K4 @$ K1 p& Z: ~+ i* b* \
- Enforce FAVA’s standard of use policies where applicable " e E. @' }# z' j% h- V. r
- Provide vacation relief

- Length of position: 12 consecutive weeks

- Advance skills of current trends in technology i.e. HD

- Interest in working for an arts organization that is governed by a Board of Directors
