. N3 N8 r$ z0 ]! y( f' EFAVA is currently looking for a Film, Video & Media Arts Assistant to join the FAVA team for 12 weeks in the summer of 2009. FAVA is a non-profit, charitable organization ( v! |! b7 U, Q$ m1 f: V8 ?
whose mandate is to support the production and exhibition of film, video and media
0 ?1 ]1 j6 n7 } lartists from Northern Alberta.

FAVA serves members with diverse backgrounds and levels of experience, ranging from
9 u* ]" J9 i# \- [$ B# Q" u9 Femerging, mid-range to established artists with an unwavering passion for film, video - Z, x9 y) o8 q5 G6 }
and media art. FAVA offers: a variety of workshops for artistic and skill development; is a
8 Z7 _0 @) E* P: ]7 d) vresource for production equipment and post-production facilities; hosts events and 4 q3 M+ R/ s9 b; M& V
screenings; and fosters and develops a dynamic media arts community in Northern

Job Description: The Film, Video & Media Arts Assistant will report to the Executive ' K; S2 J) W( a$ C/ S# Z
Director and work with the Production Coordinator and Maintenance Coordinator by
& x! Z' `! a% k) A( kassisting in the day-to-day operations of the Production Department.

% i' t& o4 T x! QDuties:
- {: G8 ~5 l! f2 A- Assist with research on acquisition grants ( I: C1 a7 S0 b6 C7 M- o
- Assist with production and post-production gear and facilities
. |4 x- b( w1 H1 O W5 Q- Assist with equipment maintenance
6 V/ E/ \- w8 b" U! E5 V0 e$ ]- Assist with production logistics for programming events
& h \5 E2 Q) R- Assist with communication with members and interoffice staff 7 w1 o+ P( C4 {
- Enforce FAVA’s standard of use policies where applicable

- A passionate interest in film, video and media arts , [* D ?* S3 @, g
- Advance skills in technical aspects of film and video equipment ( v6 ~& D: ]0 K7 Z7 P' ?
- Advance organizational and research skills
& ] n. Z0 z8 e4 ^- Advance skills of current trends in technology i.e. HD % c+ t2 t# e0 J3 k+ ~
- Strong team player abilities
