FAVA is currently looking for a Film, Video & Media Arts Assistant to join the FAVA team for 12 weeks in the summer of 2009. FAVA is a non-profit, charitable organization 4 C6 ?' N7 Y5 i3 E; d4 v" R( C
whose mandate is to support the production and exhibition of film, video and media

3 d, c9 h% D; N2 i* o$ NFAVA serves members with diverse backgrounds and levels of experience, ranging from ( Y9 A& k5 X4 I
emerging, mid-range to established artists with an unwavering passion for film, video
$ R( t: v8 j3 @9 @) pand media art. FAVA offers: a variety of workshops for artistic and skill development; is a
/ g: i& K" Z |* t! f. oresource for production equipment and post-production facilities; hosts events and

; I1 M: b8 Q1 Z# h2 tJob Description: The Film, Video & Media Arts Assistant will report to the Executive 1 Y- b$ U: E! T: s* I
Director and work with the Production Coordinator and Maintenance Coordinator by * l: Q W" N6 X' B# j: k& E
assisting in the day-to-day operations of the Production Department.

Duties:
Z: A- f$ E/ g* A- Assist with research on acquisition grants
: m- j* O& `8 x, ?$ b- Assist with production and post-production gear and facilities
) Z5 h h( M8 u$ f8 `% K% p- Assist with equipment maintenance / S/ B! x. g( a- p- u
- Assist with production logistics for programming events
& b) |$ f4 w! ?- Assist with communication with members and interoffice staff + ^9 s% Y' k. |0 C
- Enforce FAVA’s standard of use policies where applicable

- Applicants must be unemployed and attending (or have recently completed) a post-

- Length of position: 12 consecutive weeks 7 ^7 U& l" A( u

" ^' }8 D+ v/ o# J3 V- Advance skills in technical aspects of film and video equipment

- Advance skills of current trends in technology i.e. HD 2 l- t9 A# J: N- X
- Strong team player abilities
