FAVA is currently looking for a Film, Video & Media Arts Assistant to join the FAVA team for 12 weeks in the summer of 2009. FAVA is a non-profit, charitable organization $ W6 B; l! [- W8 r N" m
whose mandate is to support the production and exhibition of film, video and media

! D& g! x) S6 O" T2 NFAVA serves members with diverse backgrounds and levels of experience, ranging from
, x( x, D5 r, a+ @9 E) i! l; Nemerging, mid-range to established artists with an unwavering passion for film, video & z* Z/ n4 W% K# E
and media art. FAVA offers: a variety of workshops for artistic and skill development; is a
% `. p' O) ^3 Q3 `( J9 Jresource for production equipment and post-production facilities; hosts events and
+ e* t2 q9 X8 ?5 g- w' gscreenings; and fosters and develops a dynamic media arts community in Northern

. r P$ b6 [" h0 O1 W% SJob Description: The Film, Video & Media Arts Assistant will report to the Executive 7 m9 P6 ]) R1 x9 I3 a. W2 z; m
Director and work with the Production Coordinator and Maintenance Coordinator by
5 ~4 t4 v2 o! p4 `8 O" cassisting in the day-to-day operations of the Production Department. " Y V& i9 v5 Q4 D

Duties:
; r2 K' A4 [( Z6 `6 `/ J- Assist with research on acquisition grants 4 q& n' _. E+ {4 a" C
- Assist with production and post-production gear and facilities * @% m0 J; r/ n, C3 [) `
- Assist with equipment maintenance 5 v) A' W2 K" w" y$ }4 x! L
- Assist with production logistics for programming events
G2 O# P' z6 C" t3 {* g. j F3 \" C- Assist with communication with members and interoffice staff
7 {: F; y0 s2 S1 S, ]8 Q- Enforce FAVA’s standard of use policies where applicable 7 \: D$ g. ~. _& q) U9 q

- Applicants must be unemployed and attending (or have recently completed) a post-

9 m* G" h8 W: }( `- Wage is $15.00 per hour, 35 hours per week

- Advance skills in technical aspects of film and video equipment : E9 v# f/ F! Y# _
- Advance organizational and research skills 5 Y5 W" O8 W5 C
- Advance skills of current trends in technology i.e. HD

- Interest in working for an arts organization that is governed by a Board of Directors {! q$ p% T: g# i7 ?) \8 B
