2 t" l6 @0 F7 E8 f- v' l8 O4 FFAVA is currently looking for a Film, Video & Media Arts Assistant to join the FAVA team for 12 weeks in the summer of 2009. FAVA is a non-profit, charitable organization 9 A6 C# f' `" ~7 u; m5 u
whose mandate is to support the production and exhibition of film, video and media
) }" A4 {% u' W1 D4 Z9 m4 A& Xartists from Northern Alberta.

FAVA serves members with diverse backgrounds and levels of experience, ranging from " K% s' @" O# s! j5 J5 A
emerging, mid-range to established artists with an unwavering passion for film, video 3 U$ z; o, |* w1 r9 _
and media art. FAVA offers: a variety of workshops for artistic and skill development; is a
/ n9 n- R: P5 y1 S9 G8 _' ^resource for production equipment and post-production facilities; hosts events and - v% U1 ?. A6 s9 z
screenings; and fosters and develops a dynamic media arts community in Northern

( K( l2 w, g2 Z: { R$ {# TJob Description: The Film, Video & Media Arts Assistant will report to the Executive
+ }/ y/ j i# v/ v1 lDirector and work with the Production Coordinator and Maintenance Coordinator by
( `4 S8 c' y# |# ^; E7 }( P- {assisting in the day-to-day operations of the Production Department. ; l, U+ m9 `7 t; e# a5 S! `- n
- G9 G2 f2 u, ]% ?. `& `
Duties:
5 X x; S8 g n U2 Z! V: o9 |- Assist with research on acquisition grants
# }- ?# X+ G# x' c" ]4 F- Assist with production and post-production gear and facilities 9 g( z7 x' ?& o
- Assist with equipment maintenance
) T% a0 w: A4 k! X/ R) Q4 o* }" u7 }- Assist with production logistics for programming events
$ s- p* y% \ o F+ J/ V- Assist with communication with members and interoffice staff 8 k0 f! c3 C! `% Q1 p' y5 v
- Enforce FAVA’s standard of use policies where applicable

- Length of position: 12 consecutive weeks

Qualifications: The ideal candidate will have: " [0 m$ \ Q3 C5 W
- A passionate interest in film, video and media arts
( o+ G- E m" V; X$ B3 S- Advance skills in technical aspects of film and video equipment , H6 b& g1 b4 u+ n, z
- Advance organizational and research skills a' Q4 c4 l" }" f6 b2 [3 V' b& l" p
- Advance skills of current trends in technology i.e. HD
8 b4 W. n, D7 J/ a0 t# ] t- Strong team player abilities
