whose mandate is to support the production and exhibition of film, video and media / Z/ A* l1 p8 e, _+ Q4 [6 x# [! A
artists from Northern Alberta.

and media art. FAVA offers: a variety of workshops for artistic and skill development; is a
1 o. D( R6 P) S9 mresource for production equipment and post-production facilities; hosts events and
' Q4 C2 ^. J4 S! P# p0 A8 Fscreenings; and fosters and develops a dynamic media arts community in Northern

Job Description: The Film, Video & Media Arts Assistant will report to the Executive 7 p& t* a+ g6 u! |" w
Director and work with the Production Coordinator and Maintenance Coordinator by
7 o7 E [2 ~) s% X( U. Rassisting in the day-to-day operations of the Production Department. + q# E2 C1 a: x" Q% m
, a, q7 ^9 E2 R; K
Duties:
$ z+ y2 Y- K# \9 v, W1 a6 d- Assist with research on acquisition grants
) W: q) c: I Y0 r- Assist with production and post-production gear and facilities 4 G. x' X/ H6 ?- g, o2 G
- Assist with equipment maintenance
3 P. P8 m# q: F/ U5 y- Assist with production logistics for programming events ' w0 c1 h" ]6 h: p
- Assist with communication with members and interoffice staff ! \- b9 w- s# F% V" k5 t
- Enforce FAVA’s standard of use policies where applicable

- Length of position: 12 consecutive weeks

Qualifications: The ideal candidate will have: ) {( N* N; K6 F7 J$ V7 P
- A passionate interest in film, video and media arts ) t2 Q8 w& ]; }
- Advance skills in technical aspects of film and video equipment
& H5 M5 } e" d: a$ Q- [- Advance organizational and research skills 4 X6 Z* F$ n3 g$ [
- Advance skills of current trends in technology i.e. HD & S" S5 `' V0 L5 ^) r2 r
- Strong team player abilities + }: H [( I2 N! x; G' Q
- Interest in working for an arts organization that is governed by a Board of Directors
