FAVA is currently looking for a Film, Video & Media Arts Assistant to join the FAVA team for 12 weeks in the summer of 2009. FAVA is a non-profit, charitable organization % D8 C1 u; }, H. x+ [3 s3 q2 @
whose mandate is to support the production and exhibition of film, video and media 5 }7 Y2 Z1 f' ]- @
artists from Northern Alberta. / T7 M+ | n9 m( f* B

FAVA serves members with diverse backgrounds and levels of experience, ranging from
- o3 e8 [: n \; W% T# Xemerging, mid-range to established artists with an unwavering passion for film, video
% @, c/ f5 a% P8 q# o$ Y i% g7 D( gand media art. FAVA offers: a variety of workshops for artistic and skill development; is a 9 Q [' l7 K/ e' e$ N
resource for production equipment and post-production facilities; hosts events and ( w. ?% q7 N, @5 T( [, B
screenings; and fosters and develops a dynamic media arts community in Northern * {5 U( h* J( n$ e2 k

6 b. r- h- H+ [7 \" bDirector and work with the Production Coordinator and Maintenance Coordinator by
, G Z/ v* \5 Lassisting in the day-to-day operations of the Production Department.

Duties:
7 ?. Q, a/ ?/ w$ F; V6 p7 ^- Assist with research on acquisition grants ( ]- _6 z0 h) B2 D4 z. q, l8 P) X9 R
- Assist with production and post-production gear and facilities ; f( J+ R! T" G8 i
- Assist with equipment maintenance
2 p1 |3 J7 c$ y/ g- _6 O' }- Assist with production logistics for programming events 8 U1 S7 B/ C+ g
- Assist with communication with members and interoffice staff ' b2 F, g1 J" x; k
- Enforce FAVA’s standard of use policies where applicable

- Applicants must be unemployed and attending (or have recently completed) a post-

- Wage is $15.00 per hour, 35 hours per week

Qualifications: The ideal candidate will have: ( i: w; I8 x( o9 y
- A passionate interest in film, video and media arts 2 W% Z+ f& o4 n& E* f+ Z* S7 b, Y+ b
- Advance skills in technical aspects of film and video equipment
: |' p: {( U8 }* W- Advance organizational and research skills
