FAVA is currently looking for a Film, Video & Media Arts Assistant to join the FAVA team for 12 weeks in the summer of 2009. FAVA is a non-profit, charitable organization 3 o8 \" e2 N. e- i @5 ^
whose mandate is to support the production and exhibition of film, video and media 0 k, C, g$ r( @ X7 |

FAVA serves members with diverse backgrounds and levels of experience, ranging from ; [" c# e8 e* h" `+ R2 T6 ?
emerging, mid-range to established artists with an unwavering passion for film, video
2 j1 h& `( ?* ?$ E- B4 u0 ~( ~and media art. FAVA offers: a variety of workshops for artistic and skill development; is a
! g, J+ _, c1 Y1 gresource for production equipment and post-production facilities; hosts events and k2 x* R" O, S* R8 O. a! v7 s
screenings; and fosters and develops a dynamic media arts community in Northern , }1 p/ q7 h& F" c! r

Director and work with the Production Coordinator and Maintenance Coordinator by
$ A2 F" h+ b; |, Iassisting in the day-to-day operations of the Production Department. " q8 M" O. R1 H& u

Duties:
& q: I: s) s3 u A0 B, U; d- Assist with research on acquisition grants
0 U* Z4 c; }8 \2 t0 H% X6 t+ x8 i- P- Assist with production and post-production gear and facilities " f/ H% E. {; n% X9 V3 T# X( `( z
- Assist with equipment maintenance
0 @3 Q; l' G. b8 a- Assist with production logistics for programming events
/ i' l9 Z" \% j* P1 F& F; L8 t& u- Assist with communication with members and interoffice staff 7 v* ? R: B7 v/ E" y7 a- z
- Enforce FAVA’s standard of use policies where applicable

- Applicants must be unemployed and attending (or have recently completed) a post-

- Wage is $15.00 per hour, 35 hours per week 2 y1 N5 [$ M7 a! ]' i; r0 i. }
- Length of position: 12 consecutive weeks - M$ B' [+ j7 v3 q

Qualifications: The ideal candidate will have:

- Advance skills in technical aspects of film and video equipment ! ^4 |# t3 r0 H# L3 {
- Advance organizational and research skills . j! m/ Z O1 L$ J
- Advance skills of current trends in technology i.e. HD
) ?0 V7 L! n% p2 w- Strong team player abilities ) Y/ k9 D- s8 }
- Interest in working for an arts organization that is governed by a Board of Directors
