- g4 C7 l5 N% FFAVA is currently looking for a Film, Video & Media Arts Assistant to join the FAVA team for 12 weeks in the summer of 2009. FAVA is a non-profit, charitable organization

artists from Northern Alberta.

FAVA serves members with diverse backgrounds and levels of experience, ranging from 4 D2 w/ w- t+ g3 }/ g/ T" D" o' n
emerging, mid-range to established artists with an unwavering passion for film, video % Y6 f% C" ^* |; |$ x# M
and media art. FAVA offers: a variety of workshops for artistic and skill development; is a ) O8 f# X# S5 G5 I! k: m r
resource for production equipment and post-production facilities; hosts events and
) P2 U5 |) [; f; }" p6 O8 d4 Kscreenings; and fosters and develops a dynamic media arts community in Northern 2 [; g* }0 r2 m/ v# Q: a4 A

- y( N4 s* K7 W p5 g' R$ hJob Description: The Film, Video & Media Arts Assistant will report to the Executive & ]! W! k ~$ i* G4 V- ?# x
Director and work with the Production Coordinator and Maintenance Coordinator by + I8 c* r H; J% [
assisting in the day-to-day operations of the Production Department.

- Assist with research on acquisition grants * p" ^. z! x+ v" u Z" w [
- Assist with production and post-production gear and facilities
6 q. @' j, B, T- Assist with equipment maintenance * P, {" C! H2 f" ^9 W" [) f- V3 I9 H9 d5 @
- Assist with production logistics for programming events 7 R. X2 {5 O! p
- Assist with communication with members and interoffice staff

- Provide vacation relief - V+ n( C( B" w: ]' M% J0 D

- Applicants must be unemployed and attending (or have recently completed) a post- d7 q% f- M% u- x
secondary training ( I1 A6 }% ~* X1 K; [% @0 v8 ^
- Wage is $15.00 per hour, 35 hours per week , |1 y7 u# V$ h( S- S
- Length of position: 12 consecutive weeks + o- B! N8 Y' k1 l Z5 R

- A passionate interest in film, video and media arts 3 w' k' ?1 J* ~( R* i [0 Z
- Advance skills in technical aspects of film and video equipment 8 |5 e& ?& W- E* |) y9 D! \" L" S
- Advance organizational and research skills ! I. v9 F$ B% w. V7 P3 M
- Advance skills of current trends in technology i.e. HD 7 P( V/ G% |" t7 i* c7 U
- Strong team player abilities 9 w# i% N l& Q) L p% ~8 F
- Interest in working for an arts organization that is governed by a Board of Directors
