2 Z; v3 ?0 }  E, pFAVA is currently looking for a Film, Video & Media Arts Assistant to join the FAVA team for 12 weeks in the summer of 2009. FAVA is a non-profit, charitable organization
whose mandate is to support the production and exhibition of film, video and media
8 D! E* ?$ \8 X1 E0 lartists from Northern Alberta.

FAVA serves members with diverse backgrounds and levels of experience, ranging from
emerging, mid-range to established artists with an unwavering passion for film, video
and media art. FAVA offers: a variety of workshops for artistic and skill development; is a
# f6 G% }& g; g& |9 ?: Bresource for production equipment and post-production facilities; hosts events and
screenings; and fosters and develops a dynamic media arts community in Northern
" Y3 s5 \7 n3 v& M8 K( m9 d- ?Alberta.

Job Description: The Film, Video & Media Arts Assistant will report to the Executive
( v" B0 Z) {* T! `Director and work with the Production Coordinator and Maintenance Coordinator by
assisting in the day-to-day operations of the Production Department.

- l2 w8 l/ s5 D- E! K0 ADuties:
- Assist with research on acquisition grants
- Assist with production and post-production gear and facilities
- Assist with equipment maintenance
7 l. }  K/ v" U( a- Assist with production logistics for programming events
- Assist with communication with members and interoffice staff
- Enforce FAVA’s standard of use policies where applicable

Details:

Program (STEP)
6 _* Z+ `# S& Y* k- g- Applicants must be unemployed and attending (or have recently completed) a post-
secondary training
- Wage is $15.00 per hour, 35 hours per week
- Length of position: 12 consecutive weeks

Qualifications: The ideal candidate will have:
" M! A: }- p' }& G9 E. [% b- A passionate interest in film, video and media arts
- Advance skills in technical aspects of film and video equipment
* G% b. {" S) d; X' u% b& R- Advance organizational and research skills
' e5 y: ]2 S9 y8 ^, n% v- Advance skills of current trends in technology i.e. HD
- Strong team player abilities
