whose mandate is to support the production and exhibition of film, video and media 5 L# P; `* ?6 `* n
artists from Northern Alberta. ! a$ u: M0 \/ U- d5 B
+ E3 i) C% H/ m+ W) Q( iFAVA serves members with diverse backgrounds and levels of experience, ranging from 7 P( @ B9 v9 O
emerging, mid-range to established artists with an unwavering passion for film, video
: k# @1 _, F& V& {3 n) Band media art. FAVA offers: a variety of workshops for artistic and skill development; is a ' ?, D' c0 @ i2 e, v2 |
resource for production equipment and post-production facilities; hosts events and % C# A: P9 Y0 B" J7 _( w
screenings; and fosters and develops a dynamic media arts community in Northern

Job Description: The Film, Video & Media Arts Assistant will report to the Executive : S7 @+ I a+ \; u2 R
Director and work with the Production Coordinator and Maintenance Coordinator by
# O+ C, @: x0 L, ^. ^- U) l9 eassisting in the day-to-day operations of the Production Department. % l2 t- B9 H9 m: g8 R+ B

Duties:
6 d0 l2 ]- e2 N- Assist with research on acquisition grants
! V; Y& p$ _' r- Assist with production and post-production gear and facilities + [/ [% G0 B5 t0 r/ g* k
- Assist with equipment maintenance
, i$ J; h! Z0 M! l- Assist with production logistics for programming events
$ I" A) i- n* I( `4 E/ W& |- v- Assist with communication with members and interoffice staff
. Z4 S+ m G1 M7 P' L- Enforce FAVA’s standard of use policies where applicable ! |, C. Y% C1 h% w# Z' z Z" B' `+ o6 w

secondary training

- Length of position: 12 consecutive weeks

Qualifications: The ideal candidate will have:

- Advance skills in technical aspects of film and video equipment

- Advance skills of current trends in technology i.e. HD 0 h) J3 P- V; P& G
- Strong team player abilities
