FAVA serves members with diverse backgrounds and levels of experience, ranging from 7 C2 y4 k8 [2 x, g# [" t5 d
emerging, mid-range to established artists with an unwavering passion for film, video
& Y$ b1 e& d9 t& Kand media art. FAVA offers: a variety of workshops for artistic and skill development; is a " S; `' s3 A& x; \5 b# Q: I
resource for production equipment and post-production facilities; hosts events and
, M) A5 |8 c% K: iscreenings; and fosters and develops a dynamic media arts community in Northern

. |3 ~9 A& E0 y% F( Q" ZJob Description: The Film, Video & Media Arts Assistant will report to the Executive
' G; w: y+ @7 R$ TDirector and work with the Production Coordinator and Maintenance Coordinator by ' h6 H v% \. r5 \
assisting in the day-to-day operations of the Production Department. " H" e. p: y) {; L/ n+ z
' ^% ?$ _0 v4 B/ P' j1 ]Duties:
! |1 l4 G3 D; h8 T; @) _- Assist with research on acquisition grants
) R6 f. h) V7 L- Assist with production and post-production gear and facilities 5 S0 \4 O0 z8 s5 E7 h5 ?
- Assist with equipment maintenance $ e2 d1 J0 ]2 e+ j* j1 H$ R8 e
- Assist with production logistics for programming events / p& b, Q Q+ |: K& N
- Assist with communication with members and interoffice staff * Z5 C: N5 M9 b8 w% d& O# C
- Enforce FAVA’s standard of use policies where applicable : u0 m- \3 [8 ~6 t
- Provide vacation relief

- Applicants must be unemployed and attending (or have recently completed) a post-

2 q6 W/ H7 \" C- Wage is $15.00 per hour, 35 hours per week

- Advance skills in technical aspects of film and video equipment
# h0 w" w# H: [* A* q! N8 F- Advance organizational and research skills / t' J7 V M; \: o
- Advance skills of current trends in technology i.e. HD ; h' @+ V0 B. h$ g0 E
- Strong team player abilities ! P }& m: s$ y v, p
