4 l2 T+ S7 j3 s" e9 }" ]8 BFAVA is currently looking for a Film, Video & Media Arts Assistant to join the FAVA team for 12 weeks in the summer of 2009. FAVA is a non-profit, charitable organization

artists from Northern Alberta. 4 R$ D9 }7 \5 {/ g5 C+ i

FAVA serves members with diverse backgrounds and levels of experience, ranging from
4 i. _; q" N$ g5 {+ S% t& a; cemerging, mid-range to established artists with an unwavering passion for film, video 9 t# q" ^+ y8 f3 o7 a( Q
and media art. FAVA offers: a variety of workshops for artistic and skill development; is a / K+ Q; J# G; _3 b" q$ m6 A
resource for production equipment and post-production facilities; hosts events and
5 n" |, y7 Z0 t3 cscreenings; and fosters and develops a dynamic media arts community in Northern

( h6 {, _. h9 RJob Description: The Film, Video & Media Arts Assistant will report to the Executive ) u$ U2 ]! f' g8 }6 u! X3 C
Director and work with the Production Coordinator and Maintenance Coordinator by s. J7 _+ K7 Q L, g" \! o
assisting in the day-to-day operations of the Production Department.

- Assist with research on acquisition grants 1 H) g) \$ x2 n* @3 P X) X. l5 i* m& i5 P
- Assist with production and post-production gear and facilities
# b) l9 L/ E. D+ ^/ B- Assist with equipment maintenance
+ O" X7 }0 a" k& V/ F2 ^- Assist with production logistics for programming events . v/ y$ a! Q; q4 g2 s
- Assist with communication with members and interoffice staff ' t$ r \; E8 {9 _7 q( E E2 ?
- Enforce FAVA’s standard of use policies where applicable

- Applicants must be unemployed and attending (or have recently completed) a post-
! @1 t+ Z P; K0 d5 ^) n ~secondary training ' i1 E' c/ D2 h! u
- Wage is $15.00 per hour, 35 hours per week # V! e* o9 n) U
- Length of position: 12 consecutive weeks $ a# y" f& _% q! \2 ]( o

Qualifications: The ideal candidate will have:
% m, L P& d( P0 s% y- A passionate interest in film, video and media arts
# m, B% C# b4 \. n2 J4 \- Advance skills in technical aspects of film and video equipment
# m9 O; Z2 e% ~6 p# f1 B- Advance organizational and research skills F$ B) b0 q4 W! G7 [# ]' Y
- Advance skills of current trends in technology i.e. HD
! G7 J6 r& R" u- Strong team player abilities
