FAVA is currently looking for a Film, Video & Media Arts Assistant to join the FAVA team for 12 weeks in the summer of 2009. FAVA is a non-profit, charitable organization

FAVA serves members with diverse backgrounds and levels of experience, ranging from $ s, l) K! `* ]1 H( J
emerging, mid-range to established artists with an unwavering passion for film, video 4 m) a) S6 x8 y f0 m
and media art. FAVA offers: a variety of workshops for artistic and skill development; is a
4 A! P: d. Z, Z* Gresource for production equipment and post-production facilities; hosts events and " n( D$ {: L. x
screenings; and fosters and develops a dynamic media arts community in Northern $ @- S" A# v; b. G2 N$ n& G
Alberta.

1 T# O- V } x& ~; U' DJob Description: The Film, Video & Media Arts Assistant will report to the Executive
5 ^* a5 t1 u1 L9 E K5 cDirector and work with the Production Coordinator and Maintenance Coordinator by
8 C% t' w3 _3 I! R0 dassisting in the day-to-day operations of the Production Department. ) c I7 n* O' z2 o1 z

Duties:
# b& P- o( q9 L1 ^ ^- Assist with research on acquisition grants
* R2 _: F/ o& b1 j- `7 A6 s- Assist with production and post-production gear and facilities
, ~5 w: p- R) a! ~- ^8 p; Z9 D- Assist with equipment maintenance & q( M: X" ~* F3 p( I6 Y4 H8 k
- Assist with production logistics for programming events
/ `8 b7 v5 Q1 W: j/ V1 [8 I- Assist with communication with members and interoffice staff
; o5 L9 L6 Z& R- [- Enforce FAVA’s standard of use policies where applicable & x+ c5 U; [& A2 u! ^) Q" b8 ^

Qualifications: The ideal candidate will have: " p3 g) G% q0 i# d8 X
- A passionate interest in film, video and media arts
( Q' [+ R# e" W/ ~- Advance skills in technical aspects of film and video equipment . l2 K- V U$ k0 T' q4 Q# N
- Advance organizational and research skills ( F! M) x& [8 {: ~3 [! g7 Q! I9 r
- Advance skills of current trends in technology i.e. HD
B5 O* J3 v/ r6 }2 g3 g7 g2 U0 r- Strong team player abilities ' z. V* w* v _8 `% g5 p
- Interest in working for an arts organization that is governed by a Board of Directors
