FAVA is currently looking for a Film, Video & Media Arts Assistant to join the FAVA team for 12 weeks in the summer of 2009. FAVA is a non-profit, charitable organization 5 }2 e4 c, H& m- A5 F; ]- F
whose mandate is to support the production and exhibition of film, video and media 0 w& m# a3 k- g! k! s0 m) f
artists from Northern Alberta. " H/ ?8 e2 F* W) z; M! R6 r
+ S/ x% I) d3 e/ h3 B. v& JFAVA serves members with diverse backgrounds and levels of experience, ranging from
3 y3 ?% Q4 N' O5 Q" g( x4 [% Pemerging, mid-range to established artists with an unwavering passion for film, video ; S/ W5 s5 c: P; j3 _, W5 a
and media art. FAVA offers: a variety of workshops for artistic and skill development; is a + y# x! n% T! A8 Q# t& d8 e
resource for production equipment and post-production facilities; hosts events and
9 t! ~. _8 Y6 Y" ~screenings; and fosters and develops a dynamic media arts community in Northern 0 O4 ` W, r5 U
Alberta.

Job Description: The Film, Video & Media Arts Assistant will report to the Executive
& V( ^! D2 W* a& |Director and work with the Production Coordinator and Maintenance Coordinator by
/ e" E4 u6 ^. g1 i% Sassisting in the day-to-day operations of the Production Department.

- Assist with research on acquisition grants
6 i, \) ` o( }, F; w- Assist with production and post-production gear and facilities
1 P, j) l5 S+ K6 `: L H4 o4 V- Assist with equipment maintenance 4 B) ]2 t+ B$ {: N4 N
- Assist with production logistics for programming events ( g) F) J9 { W9 E' n* ?1 r
- Assist with communication with members and interoffice staff
$ Q l3 ?2 A1 H. F' L- Enforce FAVA’s standard of use policies where applicable

- Length of position: 12 consecutive weeks
