FAVA is currently looking for a Film, Video & Media Arts Assistant to join the FAVA team for 12 weeks in the summer of 2009. FAVA is a non-profit, charitable organization

FAVA serves members with diverse backgrounds and levels of experience, ranging from 7 L& L6 g8 k& M% X4 Q
emerging, mid-range to established artists with an unwavering passion for film, video 5 i8 |5 E; D ~) Y
and media art. FAVA offers: a variety of workshops for artistic and skill development; is a
# Q2 T4 L; {) N9 Z- w0 y& Q/ S0 presource for production equipment and post-production facilities; hosts events and ( v7 c" C2 {) G7 U2 g8 G1 o
screenings; and fosters and develops a dynamic media arts community in Northern

6 a0 ^: M+ b- W/ O! kJob Description: The Film, Video & Media Arts Assistant will report to the Executive
) H9 ^" l C& U: rDirector and work with the Production Coordinator and Maintenance Coordinator by
" s% I/ u5 `5 p$ Z0 ?) m5 `assisting in the day-to-day operations of the Production Department.

- Assist with research on acquisition grants
8 C7 M# F1 V; w! r4 b- Assist with production and post-production gear and facilities
0 T G) z8 y# y2 n9 B- Assist with equipment maintenance
( `' f' I9 x" T( b+ v! x m- Assist with production logistics for programming events
. j2 ?1 ^8 X- C; ?- Assist with communication with members and interoffice staff
) k$ |& m* n: a- Enforce FAVA’s standard of use policies where applicable
& l) \! j- I/ L8 X- Provide vacation relief

- Applicants must be unemployed and attending (or have recently completed) a post-

- A passionate interest in film, video and media arts
