$ s4 @/ c" _: s5 lFAVA is currently looking for a Film, Video & Media Arts Assistant to join the FAVA team for 12 weeks in the summer of 2009. FAVA is a non-profit, charitable organization ( W7 Z l" h& p5 ?
whose mandate is to support the production and exhibition of film, video and media

emerging, mid-range to established artists with an unwavering passion for film, video ) ~- T, V" K# A: i( R
and media art. FAVA offers: a variety of workshops for artistic and skill development; is a % y. W$ {* w7 M& o, W1 ]; ]
resource for production equipment and post-production facilities; hosts events and
$ [; O G* N) L' n: L7 {5 [screenings; and fosters and develops a dynamic media arts community in Northern $ R0 f4 M: P/ X7 v: g+ p1 f* R

Job Description: The Film, Video & Media Arts Assistant will report to the Executive + G& i; i1 f' N
Director and work with the Production Coordinator and Maintenance Coordinator by $ G% |! s" p4 B; X, R
assisting in the day-to-day operations of the Production Department. , b' {: Q" L: m( D) n

Duties:
p8 Z y8 W" K( E2 I- Assist with research on acquisition grants 0 S! J7 B$ [; N* W; K+ n
- Assist with production and post-production gear and facilities / P- x% b3 R$ Q9 U" M) @
- Assist with equipment maintenance
% e# O- I: L' i+ q- [# {* \- Assist with production logistics for programming events # S/ e) x ?' P2 m: u% m
- Assist with communication with members and interoffice staff
- u$ \6 v' Q7 \9 _. R7 i" V: I- Enforce FAVA’s standard of use policies where applicable

- Applicants must be unemployed and attending (or have recently completed) a post-

- A passionate interest in film, video and media arts

- Advance skills of current trends in technology i.e. HD
