FAVA is currently looking for a Film, Video & Media Arts Assistant to join the FAVA team for 12 weeks in the summer of 2009. FAVA is a non-profit, charitable organization * C, M6 N. @& ^7 O" _, v+ f$ f& b
whose mandate is to support the production and exhibition of film, video and media

6 ~$ `5 I/ _- t6 U' t2 v! N: tFAVA serves members with diverse backgrounds and levels of experience, ranging from
& e2 p) |+ q5 K) Uemerging, mid-range to established artists with an unwavering passion for film, video
( }4 V! i2 m5 eand media art. FAVA offers: a variety of workshops for artistic and skill development; is a $ l, b# ~* o! X
resource for production equipment and post-production facilities; hosts events and

Job Description: The Film, Video & Media Arts Assistant will report to the Executive
; v; K5 J- @' cDirector and work with the Production Coordinator and Maintenance Coordinator by
( o) ^* j7 x$ k, Wassisting in the day-to-day operations of the Production Department.

( R y4 [. H5 j) s; V, f WDuties:
0 M9 {& T- G. q8 [ v- h; @1 u- Assist with research on acquisition grants , {8 i$ ?5 h; z3 L* C- }
- Assist with production and post-production gear and facilities
4 I/ Q: F7 x; a7 z# ~3 J3 u- Assist with equipment maintenance
9 O2 v" c3 ~7 l, b- Assist with production logistics for programming events
) A9 h; U5 O5 w# j9 s9 ?- D4 q- Assist with communication with members and interoffice staff 4 R4 h4 H6 S; S
- Enforce FAVA’s standard of use policies where applicable - X9 ?' l+ l9 V0 E s8 o; _0 K
- Provide vacation relief , ~# _/ e( W( {% b0 w) V0 }5 J! ^7 \

secondary training

Qualifications: The ideal candidate will have: 2 ~% t" Z' Q) b& F! t. {/ H
- A passionate interest in film, video and media arts $ T5 o2 z9 @1 T( s% r y" Z3 m: E. }" j
- Advance skills in technical aspects of film and video equipment 8 h, j( E% P$ q1 n
- Advance organizational and research skills 1 A( `4 L6 p( w
- Advance skills of current trends in technology i.e. HD " m w. F B! t$ v9 _9 M
- Strong team player abilities
