+ R+ m, D, e, l! TFAVA is currently looking for a Film, Video & Media Arts Assistant to join the FAVA team for 12 weeks in the summer of 2009. FAVA is a non-profit, charitable organization
whose mandate is to support the production and exhibition of film, video and media
artists from Northern Alberta.

: P( V( \* q7 v, lFAVA serves members with diverse backgrounds and levels of experience, ranging from
; L" e) w) F8 `) k1 c- semerging, mid-range to established artists with an unwavering passion for film, video
, V- D" g. [! g; s  }7 ~0 Zand media art. FAVA offers: a variety of workshops for artistic and skill development; is a
% S  j& ^: k* K3 h2 ~resource for production equipment and post-production facilities; hosts events and
screenings; and fosters and develops a dynamic media arts community in Northern
Alberta.

$ Y: Z0 [# F$ ZJob Description: The Film, Video & Media Arts Assistant will report to the Executive
Director and work with the Production Coordinator and Maintenance Coordinator by
* ~8 t4 L& `# ^1 Sassisting in the day-to-day operations of the Production Department.

5 e. u  O/ c+ C9 zDuties:
- Assist with research on acquisition grants
9 E$ h8 R% ]: `8 w+ @" i" w- Assist with production and post-production gear and facilities
- Assist with equipment maintenance
- Assist with production logistics for programming events
- Assist with communication with members and interoffice staff
- Enforce FAVA’s standard of use policies where applicable

- Applicants must be unemployed and attending (or have recently completed) a post-

- Wage is $15.00 per hour, 35 hours per week

Qualifications: The ideal candidate will have:
- A passionate interest in film, video and media arts
- Advance skills in technical aspects of film and video equipment
5 p4 M: z2 T! Y+ W4 C- Advance organizational and research skills
5 X1 `4 i5 C- A! S- ~- Advance skills of current trends in technology i.e. HD
+ L! ]% {: E4 G) x; F3 Y& N- Strong team player abilities
- Interest in working for an arts organization that is governed by a Board of Directors
