FAVA is currently looking for a Film, Video & Media Arts Assistant to join the FAVA team for 12 weeks in the summer of 2009. FAVA is a non-profit, charitable organization

( S; T( W4 t. O2 U8 S* g, sFAVA serves members with diverse backgrounds and levels of experience, ranging from

and media art. FAVA offers: a variety of workshops for artistic and skill development; is a , l6 _% c) I( C- T4 v3 q/ F
resource for production equipment and post-production facilities; hosts events and

4 N) Y1 H5 G% |# \Job Description: The Film, Video & Media Arts Assistant will report to the Executive
' Z, l% B; [: j% V! W2 wDirector and work with the Production Coordinator and Maintenance Coordinator by ) l2 Y+ Q- B- I' ?3 v+ W
assisting in the day-to-day operations of the Production Department. 4 R+ o3 R# j) w& o2 {

- Assist with research on acquisition grants 4 H( e( W9 f4 H) L2 l
- Assist with production and post-production gear and facilities
7 I/ n4 R% g: o* U- Assist with equipment maintenance & b. \9 }1 P* ^% G, m B2 t
- Assist with production logistics for programming events 0 X* L, i. x& B: D
- Assist with communication with members and interoffice staff ; P6 w* ? a4 G' v1 d
- Enforce FAVA’s standard of use policies where applicable $ H$ v& V4 p' k8 e+ x7 ?. s# A
- Provide vacation relief 3 a0 J5 A6 Y/ ]4 I, M8 ?

- Wage is $15.00 per hour, 35 hours per week

Qualifications: The ideal candidate will have:
/ s* l& b. R. t7 _6 r- A passionate interest in film, video and media arts
+ d+ k$ [8 _( ]# s$ z1 M$ ~- Advance skills in technical aspects of film and video equipment
8 P$ K9 d- G' U* O# S4 e) N: ^9 _- Advance organizational and research skills
; P; H/ ~2 |* @, q- Advance skills of current trends in technology i.e. HD + j y4 j0 T+ e+ l+ R! Q& J
- Strong team player abilities 3 w6 M0 N3 r. R( K
