whose mandate is to support the production and exhibition of film, video and media

FAVA serves members with diverse backgrounds and levels of experience, ranging from 6 j, V2 b4 t+ ~0 Q7 d" J/ R; Z
emerging, mid-range to established artists with an unwavering passion for film, video ' f/ R9 J; M0 `8 y' e
and media art. FAVA offers: a variety of workshops for artistic and skill development; is a

/ O0 F2 G; W' C& w& P9 u& {8 L$ x2 ]Job Description: The Film, Video & Media Arts Assistant will report to the Executive
3 f' u* c) D( v& e0 ~: A LDirector and work with the Production Coordinator and Maintenance Coordinator by
9 A+ ~9 M- F, I p, Eassisting in the day-to-day operations of the Production Department.

- Assist with research on acquisition grants - I% h9 O; y& J+ c, S+ m2 T3 `
- Assist with production and post-production gear and facilities + X! f3 H& Z* b0 j1 q+ A' x
- Assist with equipment maintenance 8 i; o4 I% D9 E& c+ d' h% _
- Assist with production logistics for programming events 5 e& ~3 k- V1 h& C
- Assist with communication with members and interoffice staff
& l) L6 e- [. _$ I& M/ F- Enforce FAVA’s standard of use policies where applicable ! \6 e" \0 q' N2 E% Y
- Provide vacation relief

- Wage is $15.00 per hour, 35 hours per week , B9 M4 {. G# g2 U) X
- Length of position: 12 consecutive weeks

- A passionate interest in film, video and media arts 0 _1 R( h% D% O4 H! N5 N
- Advance skills in technical aspects of film and video equipment
0 K7 Z" P" t' o8 m! r- Advance organizational and research skills ( l/ r) {/ X3 n0 N, U
- Advance skills of current trends in technology i.e. HD 5 Y& m) C( ~, y6 u, m* g
- Strong team player abilities
