FAVA is currently looking for a Film, Video & Media Arts Assistant to join the FAVA team for 12 weeks in the summer of 2009. FAVA is a non-profit, charitable organization
* p7 X. r' q* c: }whose mandate is to support the production and exhibition of film, video and media
artists from Northern Alberta.

$ Y5 q. N$ k$ \" g  C) gFAVA serves members with diverse backgrounds and levels of experience, ranging from
emerging, mid-range to established artists with an unwavering passion for film, video
and media art. FAVA offers: a variety of workshops for artistic and skill development; is a
resource for production equipment and post-production facilities; hosts events and
screenings; and fosters and develops a dynamic media arts community in Northern
! i( j! A, u! P& C$ NAlberta.

$ d  T0 i! t4 o% u1 jJob Description: The Film, Video & Media Arts Assistant will report to the Executive
Director and work with the Production Coordinator and Maintenance Coordinator by
assisting in the day-to-day operations of the Production Department.

Duties:
- Assist with research on acquisition grants
4 F1 @9 K) }! I2 U+ F. k0 G- Assist with production and post-production gear and facilities
. Z/ ^6 I  ~! l2 z# g- Assist with equipment maintenance
8 B; Q( `  l! l2 n; ]- Assist with production logistics for programming events
- Assist with communication with members and interoffice staff
- Enforce FAVA’s standard of use policies where applicable
- Provide vacation relief

- Applicants must be unemployed and attending (or have recently completed) a post-

- Wage is $15.00 per hour, 35 hours per week

- A passionate interest in film, video and media arts
, ?/ A, \. ?" O' X8 g- Advance skills in technical aspects of film and video equipment
- Advance organizational and research skills
- Advance skills of current trends in technology i.e. HD
- Strong team player abilities
- Interest in working for an arts organization that is governed by a Board of Directors
