+ J8 _% C$ n& c8 \FAVA is currently looking for a Film, Video & Media Arts Assistant to join the FAVA team for 12 weeks in the summer of 2009. FAVA is a non-profit, charitable organization 2 h1 W3 e' a5 p, j- ]0 A! B
whose mandate is to support the production and exhibition of film, video and media ) O4 K5 G, h) a( x8 u* q
artists from Northern Alberta.

FAVA serves members with diverse backgrounds and levels of experience, ranging from
( M& |: I/ _& N: H) demerging, mid-range to established artists with an unwavering passion for film, video & o2 |1 V- d3 K" K; F
and media art. FAVA offers: a variety of workshops for artistic and skill development; is a ; Z% S) C' j* u& U& n
resource for production equipment and post-production facilities; hosts events and
% N/ N5 W6 |' T# a: zscreenings; and fosters and develops a dynamic media arts community in Northern . }/ {; ?0 _9 ~" G% M

Job Description: The Film, Video & Media Arts Assistant will report to the Executive
5 i1 Q' z% K+ `' j7 n2 ~& [- FDirector and work with the Production Coordinator and Maintenance Coordinator by : ?# M, f6 P( S6 {3 n9 r3 L- f
assisting in the day-to-day operations of the Production Department.
% C1 i: J2 E+ l3 | % t/ I- l8 a: ]& x
Duties: 0 j$ \2 ]( A& @- J: u5 V3 u S* `
- Assist with research on acquisition grants
& ~, g& e& T4 n1 J0 K- Assist with production and post-production gear and facilities ! F: Z4 ]5 M" {$ a! F
- Assist with equipment maintenance % s8 V7 z7 D: T
- Assist with production logistics for programming events : o* o: k! r1 @4 q$ V0 }3 G! s* q
- Assist with communication with members and interoffice staff
8 e" W. K" N9 P- Enforce FAVA’s standard of use policies where applicable 3 [* ]% e( D* _; Z5 H2 o
- Provide vacation relief ; N; c- C( E# u* y) X+ {! G

- Applicants must be unemployed and attending (or have recently completed) a post-3 l/ Z$ E3 Z- g& }/ |1 ~$ l# M) f
secondary training
* V/ Y: _* Z4 G- Wage is $15.00 per hour, 35 hours per week

- A passionate interest in film, video and media arts

- Advance organizational and research skills 7 B M# `' Q/ [& o2 V- j3 X
- Advance skills of current trends in technology i.e. HD
