: N/ r1 w5 q& e, v$ ]and media art. FAVA offers: a variety of workshops for artistic and skill development; is a # R- K$ Z9 d# X# A, l2 k8 ^' k
resource for production equipment and post-production facilities; hosts events and ( z2 `1 @! v e- p: |( l
screenings; and fosters and develops a dynamic media arts community in Northern

Job Description: The Film, Video & Media Arts Assistant will report to the Executive * f2 f+ T$ p1 O/ M1 a' P
Director and work with the Production Coordinator and Maintenance Coordinator by
) _- T6 E0 r6 P4 @$ |7 l# hassisting in the day-to-day operations of the Production Department.
9 x$ r2 E/ J" D0 M4 @ 5 G9 U3 B7 v' H9 F0 r2 t% `
Duties:
& b$ o; `: d/ x( [3 t2 O( v, j( |- Assist with research on acquisition grants
' L' U- @1 D3 E3 f; D1 e, i2 `. A- Assist with production and post-production gear and facilities 3 N8 j) m8 B9 r; ~
- Assist with equipment maintenance : e4 R. B I! ?6 s5 ~! l; }
- Assist with production logistics for programming events ) t: W% g. V& E1 v" ^
- Assist with communication with members and interoffice staff ; \" v0 f5 ?. q' g& V+ k
- Enforce FAVA’s standard of use policies where applicable 5 F# _" @$ Y7 S3 G$ w1 N/ {
- Provide vacation relief

- Length of position: 12 consecutive weeks

Qualifications: The ideal candidate will have: ! n2 u0 c+ v1 I) n8 f- P" c5 q
- A passionate interest in film, video and media arts
* e' I! H( c2 }: A- Advance skills in technical aspects of film and video equipment 0 L" X2 T' K% ~% D4 r
- Advance organizational and research skills
& K: V# Q6 y1 y9 R, q: x" b- Advance skills of current trends in technology i.e. HD 2 I- x7 Q) w2 l, r7 k* {
- Strong team player abilities
