1 F; _, Z7 G9 m4 ^' sFAVA is currently looking for a Film, Video & Media Arts Assistant to join the FAVA team for 12 weeks in the summer of 2009. FAVA is a non-profit, charitable organization 8 @8 M" W8 m2 |/ k) ^
whose mandate is to support the production and exhibition of film, video and media
- i5 Q4 `0 z/ eartists from Northern Alberta. 6 O7 a8 |8 T% j/ C& P
c5 n- ]+ R% c2 d$ mFAVA serves members with diverse backgrounds and levels of experience, ranging from ; S8 ]) S, K, X- d5 p; a
emerging, mid-range to established artists with an unwavering passion for film, video - A3 f/ m# O4 p/ W* j" W6 T* f9 W
and media art. FAVA offers: a variety of workshops for artistic and skill development; is a & L: f2 C+ v6 V" Q
resource for production equipment and post-production facilities; hosts events and / G1 L0 J) N7 q, U! T
screenings; and fosters and develops a dynamic media arts community in Northern

' |+ Y, M: p9 m# w9 h' J/ GJob Description: The Film, Video & Media Arts Assistant will report to the Executive 5 Q* d. d& O4 y6 g7 ~( C- _
Director and work with the Production Coordinator and Maintenance Coordinator by % d1 X; O$ D! q6 y+ V
assisting in the day-to-day operations of the Production Department. ! W* N u. j' m4 }
8 \5 B5 X9 t6 Z) E2 T7 N8 TDuties: $ h, @1 O1 A/ I7 p
- Assist with research on acquisition grants
5 B- D$ `# ~! h( c! \* h0 h" J- Assist with production and post-production gear and facilities
5 v' N2 R& A: w: @0 B* Z+ g- Assist with equipment maintenance " O4 h' \+ F } E
- Assist with production logistics for programming events ' L+ M/ Z: D8 J, c! ?
- Assist with communication with members and interoffice staff 2 C2 M# g6 s& k# i/ W+ F# U
- Enforce FAVA’s standard of use policies where applicable

- Wage is $15.00 per hour, 35 hours per week

* a; f9 s z* S4 a- Advance skills in technical aspects of film and video equipment
6 J; g' {" W$ V) `; v- Advance organizational and research skills ! I+ A7 I7 t+ V& Z
- Advance skills of current trends in technology i.e. HD % ?& \6 x: A3 z) _4 X/ L. D7 v
- Strong team player abilities & E% C# f4 V& X' m5 E
