R9 T% [7 ?7 a% {- L4 LFAVA is currently looking for a Film, Video & Media Arts Assistant to join the FAVA team for 12 weeks in the summer of 2009. FAVA is a non-profit, charitable organization

FAVA serves members with diverse backgrounds and levels of experience, ranging from 6 p/ P9 e: u: H
emerging, mid-range to established artists with an unwavering passion for film, video 0 q( z8 ?1 i7 x% k& i0 v
and media art. FAVA offers: a variety of workshops for artistic and skill development; is a 2 y' J# K, Z1 \" ?: n* N: T$ ?
resource for production equipment and post-production facilities; hosts events and
$ l4 ^# ~% N. R; X: hscreenings; and fosters and develops a dynamic media arts community in Northern

$ |1 m- u9 k W2 b4 l# fJob Description: The Film, Video & Media Arts Assistant will report to the Executive
7 y8 I, o5 D0 ~& R* l/ gDirector and work with the Production Coordinator and Maintenance Coordinator by
. i, p n1 o/ [& q8 Nassisting in the day-to-day operations of the Production Department. - ?8 _ F8 E+ g) x: _' A5 R

9 N: I+ d/ h% ?0 f' b' Z9 X) C+ N- Assist with research on acquisition grants
, V Q: {" U( L+ ^8 B- Assist with production and post-production gear and facilities
/ ~( R9 P5 x0 B" }- M& o& C- Assist with equipment maintenance
8 @/ Q h7 b" z. d0 F5 m: L8 {- Assist with production logistics for programming events & X, a; a( _6 i( r' d6 A
- Assist with communication with members and interoffice staff 0 z3 C6 y+ C+ x3 N6 w
- Enforce FAVA’s standard of use policies where applicable 0 d6 M7 i! p0 d$ x
- Provide vacation relief

- Applicants must be unemployed and attending (or have recently completed) a post-

- Length of position: 12 consecutive weeks

- A passionate interest in film, video and media arts
1 {- o) o* G3 y, h- Advance skills in technical aspects of film and video equipment 5 w- z5 s) f" l Y# P
- Advance organizational and research skills
4 T) Q9 a* ^0 b% v) ]5 h: ?- Advance skills of current trends in technology i.e. HD 9 D; d4 U+ m8 U4 c$ M" d% s4 C
- Strong team player abilities " h0 h$ }% ~# T0 i& G! Z
- Interest in working for an arts organization that is governed by a Board of Directors
