: u' I+ q! d& Q7 f( d9 BFAVA is currently looking for a Film, Video & Media Arts Assistant to join the FAVA team for 12 weeks in the summer of 2009. FAVA is a non-profit, charitable organization ! B3 c# s @* ]4 A' ]0 U: {
whose mandate is to support the production and exhibition of film, video and media , r+ c% Q1 K4 [, R. p8 K
artists from Northern Alberta.

; T2 P9 k N4 ^; y- \FAVA serves members with diverse backgrounds and levels of experience, ranging from 2 n, X3 H' P; P/ W+ |( E) x
emerging, mid-range to established artists with an unwavering passion for film, video & r# X+ j& f5 T* o, }& J
and media art. FAVA offers: a variety of workshops for artistic and skill development; is a
- R/ ^# O$ a" [: A3 z! d) vresource for production equipment and post-production facilities; hosts events and 2 ~& \- t& f: `9 z ]3 J1 I. F
screenings; and fosters and develops a dynamic media arts community in Northern 1 L* z) e$ K8 U% F/ x8 W& }

/ j; e; P p$ DJob Description: The Film, Video & Media Arts Assistant will report to the Executive 9 h: C, \" _8 n' `
Director and work with the Production Coordinator and Maintenance Coordinator by ' U8 q& h% o- e5 W
assisting in the day-to-day operations of the Production Department. 8 g6 U9 w2 A& ]& N8 L J
! [0 R5 P' b: N8 w2 ADuties: 7 \5 I9 K7 n$ f% o( f
- Assist with research on acquisition grants 8 V$ n2 C. D2 N$ E8 P4 `/ w% B
- Assist with production and post-production gear and facilities : ^, L- _$ g9 v
- Assist with equipment maintenance
) m+ k* y2 o; ?4 D- Assist with production logistics for programming events
% c/ T/ h+ i: M! H" f' ?- Assist with communication with members and interoffice staff
# Y+ u$ u9 ^, W% D% R2 L, }, V- Enforce FAVA’s standard of use policies where applicable ' w- {* }* l' s) u6 [

- Wage is $15.00 per hour, 35 hours per week 0 ` D' ~8 R* L2 `! v
- Length of position: 12 consecutive weeks 0 ~. n2 K2 {; R; l/ L/ W) @& h1 C

- A passionate interest in film, video and media arts

- Advance skills of current trends in technology i.e. HD

- Interest in working for an arts organization that is governed by a Board of Directors
