FAVA is currently looking for a Film, Video & Media Arts Assistant to join the FAVA team for 12 weeks in the summer of 2009. FAVA is a non-profit, charitable organization 6 [4 G y7 g5 S( G& M k4 m$ M3 X" Z
whose mandate is to support the production and exhibition of film, video and media
+ I, J! g' U( ]" J; \4 partists from Northern Alberta.

& t* O2 j) ?/ k% R( N# H, h( NFAVA serves members with diverse backgrounds and levels of experience, ranging from + k: o+ P2 Z* n" f0 ?' o1 G/ s
emerging, mid-range to established artists with an unwavering passion for film, video
: a, |, ~# c/ j1 S! xand media art. FAVA offers: a variety of workshops for artistic and skill development; is a
3 i- n( I" w$ b* M( _, zresource for production equipment and post-production facilities; hosts events and

( r% D& t% P) |( {# QJob Description: The Film, Video & Media Arts Assistant will report to the Executive . a% H4 G; v' `3 U: _6 p
Director and work with the Production Coordinator and Maintenance Coordinator by
: V' D/ @9 f K3 w% M2 Y; wassisting in the day-to-day operations of the Production Department. - `/ T0 E; {8 ^/ E

Duties: 0 V# r0 e5 o/ [5 }! {, E
- Assist with research on acquisition grants
$ S/ Q3 k" R9 Q3 o# t, H4 O$ e; |- Assist with production and post-production gear and facilities
. M. C2 v" {' I" I7 C1 o7 C. W- Assist with equipment maintenance
3 T6 y, @) {7 o2 n- Assist with production logistics for programming events # p, M' A1 Z) Z3 ^! e
- Assist with communication with members and interoffice staff + f3 P R1 |' J, m* @
- Enforce FAVA’s standard of use policies where applicable

- Applicants must be unemployed and attending (or have recently completed) a post-1 C$ x- ?+ c( ?' K% @
secondary training ( h) B/ V/ Q9 V3 u* q( H
- Wage is $15.00 per hour, 35 hours per week

- Advance skills in technical aspects of film and video equipment
9 t% l% j$ {3 Z* J u( n7 ]6 t- Advance organizational and research skills
% z% A4 H8 X& C' C- Advance skills of current trends in technology i.e. HD ' p+ h1 o2 \4 t. k `& E5 z, f
- Strong team player abilities
