FAVA is currently looking for a Film, Video & Media Arts Assistant to join the FAVA team for 12 weeks in the summer of 2009. FAVA is a non-profit, charitable organization & b' b- o' g& K, Y5 c; r
whose mandate is to support the production and exhibition of film, video and media . ^; B7 @+ `% W* ^5 d
artists from Northern Alberta.

6 l. Z! } B" A* [ EFAVA serves members with diverse backgrounds and levels of experience, ranging from

and media art. FAVA offers: a variety of workshops for artistic and skill development; is a
/ E0 \. Z% V5 @! xresource for production equipment and post-production facilities; hosts events and
0 T$ d+ A& Y5 a! d3 `1 }* Sscreenings; and fosters and develops a dynamic media arts community in Northern 9 o) C' \3 y& w: H5 U

: b8 f! X& J( I& q+ X- }$ rJob Description: The Film, Video & Media Arts Assistant will report to the Executive $ X5 q' H* J2 U) `' z/ v
Director and work with the Production Coordinator and Maintenance Coordinator by
& X1 X; g' u- F: Y# lassisting in the day-to-day operations of the Production Department. : ~% p0 G. B; ?
: C1 r5 ?! f" `2 n9 v4 X% WDuties:
) l+ ?1 u, P/ Y: o+ ^2 m9 E- Assist with research on acquisition grants
2 Z6 p0 z3 P- E; h/ Z' V/ Z: L5 d- Assist with production and post-production gear and facilities
0 L# [: i% n; t- Assist with equipment maintenance
" i5 A. {7 f" ]/ J V% l- Assist with production logistics for programming events
: f1 {1 l8 J/ P- Z# s- \/ I- Assist with communication with members and interoffice staff
) l) [' L0 ?" V9 w8 K' s- Enforce FAVA’s standard of use policies where applicable % a# U% D* u! ^3 ^
- Provide vacation relief
