FAVA is currently looking for a Film, Video & Media Arts Assistant to join the FAVA team for 12 weeks in the summer of 2009. FAVA is a non-profit, charitable organization

FAVA serves members with diverse backgrounds and levels of experience, ranging from 2 A8 S9 s d8 g% d: ]
emerging, mid-range to established artists with an unwavering passion for film, video
/ [/ S3 f4 v' o4 Q) O4 r8 kand media art. FAVA offers: a variety of workshops for artistic and skill development; is a
. k, q* Y8 u2 p: W8 b& U; X& Nresource for production equipment and post-production facilities; hosts events and ! J$ l% U% G9 ]
screenings; and fosters and develops a dynamic media arts community in Northern

3 p" h+ z' Z, p' [Job Description: The Film, Video & Media Arts Assistant will report to the Executive + a9 a2 m; N; I$ n& ?5 c
Director and work with the Production Coordinator and Maintenance Coordinator by
5 O x' @4 r, @- N/ d3 Y Iassisting in the day-to-day operations of the Production Department.
R& Q2 I6 [; `5 Q1 C$ {6 i5 Y; ?& } / _$ G) ^; E+ W1 g
Duties: 8 u/ k0 i5 U9 b( m3 {5 u9 [
- Assist with research on acquisition grants 6 Z- Q' v; w' B D4 H5 `9 P5 n
- Assist with production and post-production gear and facilities
" z. b0 e2 y8 b' \% y- Assist with equipment maintenance
' @" m9 t% W3 D! }, Y5 D/ {1 z# B- Assist with production logistics for programming events 8 g8 c7 a/ E8 @# Y/ h
- Assist with communication with members and interoffice staff
5 g2 Z$ B! N, _3 [, S- Enforce FAVA’s standard of use policies where applicable

- Wage is $15.00 per hour, 35 hours per week

- A passionate interest in film, video and media arts & C: M0 U) T! v- C% @: \
- Advance skills in technical aspects of film and video equipment
/ W, y) D$ F4 t& z- E) W- Advance organizational and research skills + [% @, n, _3 E; K
- Advance skills of current trends in technology i.e. HD
' s9 P k1 P4 S/ l- Strong team player abilities
( q6 v: m3 U7 `$ f& _0 m1 V- Interest in working for an arts organization that is governed by a Board of Directors
