FAVA is currently looking for a Film, Video & Media Arts Assistant to join the FAVA team for 12 weeks in the summer of 2009. FAVA is a non-profit, charitable organization

0 q0 H/ W- L0 H# q/ Pemerging, mid-range to established artists with an unwavering passion for film, video
& _0 H1 k2 A# iand media art. FAVA offers: a variety of workshops for artistic and skill development; is a

screenings; and fosters and develops a dynamic media arts community in Northern

Job Description: The Film, Video & Media Arts Assistant will report to the Executive " d2 m {6 D& I3 M
Director and work with the Production Coordinator and Maintenance Coordinator by 6 m! H, [( @$ H1 ?
assisting in the day-to-day operations of the Production Department.
' Q& A0 ]2 d3 ? * H# T3 w7 d3 l( u: D/ f! n
Duties: 0 _; {+ U4 I( D$ h" [2 q
- Assist with research on acquisition grants
2 p! d5 |9 T, p9 v- Assist with production and post-production gear and facilities
8 o+ T4 l4 w0 T3 l4 A- Assist with equipment maintenance
+ i/ R* L/ |; r4 A9 E- Assist with production logistics for programming events 0 A, g* [8 E- m. |) ~4 {
- Assist with communication with members and interoffice staff 8 Q8 Z d A+ \; X
- Enforce FAVA’s standard of use policies where applicable

Qualifications: The ideal candidate will have: 0 m( t3 X; W1 w m( E
- A passionate interest in film, video and media arts 4 h. y1 l7 X$ X
- Advance skills in technical aspects of film and video equipment
+ k% ~+ E8 j1 V8 P% Z- Advance organizational and research skills * X3 G* q; |+ Q* E
- Advance skills of current trends in technology i.e. HD $ ~3 ]' O0 Y: t5 {3 r) @2 [
- Strong team player abilities
