) I) c( x7 a$ P5 Y& o5 r* _- d- Z( LFAVA is currently looking for a Film, Video & Media Arts Assistant to join the FAVA team for 12 weeks in the summer of 2009. FAVA is a non-profit, charitable organization
6 K6 z6 V* V5 s" R6 wwhose mandate is to support the production and exhibition of film, video and media
artists from Northern Alberta.

* E0 d2 O" n9 kFAVA serves members with diverse backgrounds and levels of experience, ranging from
emerging, mid-range to established artists with an unwavering passion for film, video
2 ~/ r! u  C. g( vand media art. FAVA offers: a variety of workshops for artistic and skill development; is a
: M' J2 C- H+ A9 m% X9 [3 [# Presource for production equipment and post-production facilities; hosts events and
screenings; and fosters and develops a dynamic media arts community in Northern
/ W3 e# K- `* b: bAlberta.

Job Description: The Film, Video & Media Arts Assistant will report to the Executive
) R0 C) _( t5 I+ ZDirector and work with the Production Coordinator and Maintenance Coordinator by
assisting in the day-to-day operations of the Production Department.

Duties:
, a# j7 c4 \/ ^- X: a/ V: I$ a- Assist with research on acquisition grants
- Assist with production and post-production gear and facilities
9 Y/ X) j. P# E/ g- Assist with equipment maintenance
- Assist with production logistics for programming events
- Assist with communication with members and interoffice staff
3 }' `+ G+ K8 Y# {8 s- Enforce FAVA’s standard of use policies where applicable
4 n. h- Z0 e6 _! Y. N$ J- Provide vacation relief

Details:
' p/ W  U" J1 y# J, v- Funding for this position is partially provided by the Summer Temporary Employment
Program (STEP)
5 o) a% K& ^; C- Applicants must be unemployed and attending (or have recently completed) a post-

- Wage is $15.00 per hour, 35 hours per week
- Length of position: 12 consecutive weeks

" }) H+ l( P( e; j7 y3 S- A passionate interest in film, video and media arts
/ B+ e; @4 }6 q9 k- Advance skills in technical aspects of film and video equipment
. E6 s  a' S/ V3 u- Advance organizational and research skills
- Advance skills of current trends in technology i.e. HD
- Strong team player abilities
