% K: m8 Y5 i* o5 V! T( v# t$ zFAVA is currently looking for a Film, Video & Media Arts Assistant to join the FAVA team for 12 weeks in the summer of 2009. FAVA is a non-profit, charitable organization
whose mandate is to support the production and exhibition of film, video and media
artists from Northern Alberta.

( V* N, O# f& @/ P* t* gFAVA serves members with diverse backgrounds and levels of experience, ranging from
: u* ^4 ^9 f  D2 K  ~) wemerging, mid-range to established artists with an unwavering passion for film, video
and media art. FAVA offers: a variety of workshops for artistic and skill development; is a
% [2 Y8 L6 g8 ], Y, G4 N" Nresource for production equipment and post-production facilities; hosts events and
screenings; and fosters and develops a dynamic media arts community in Northern
Alberta.

: V, `$ d# D5 i9 y/ J- v+ }Job Description: The Film, Video & Media Arts Assistant will report to the Executive
Director and work with the Production Coordinator and Maintenance Coordinator by
( C7 |3 \0 Y  H6 E# [& C3 rassisting in the day-to-day operations of the Production Department.

Duties:
( @# l) h' Y/ y5 Q- Assist with research on acquisition grants
- r. g6 E. i" h- Assist with production and post-production gear and facilities
- Assist with equipment maintenance
- Assist with production logistics for programming events
- Assist with communication with members and interoffice staff
- Enforce FAVA’s standard of use policies where applicable
- Provide vacation relief

secondary training
; M' H( U1 v2 V# h+ P: q- Wage is $15.00 per hour, 35 hours per week
- Length of position: 12 consecutive weeks

1 T( D' X2 d! NQualifications: The ideal candidate will have:
" h$ h# i: e: z$ S- A passionate interest in film, video and media arts
% a8 w+ e# u  B1 s8 A9 U! \- Advance skills in technical aspects of film and video equipment
- Advance organizational and research skills
) b0 x$ S# z/ b9 _) ]: t1 |- Advance skills of current trends in technology i.e. HD
# y! e5 [& I! s- Strong team player abilities
