whose mandate is to support the production and exhibition of film, video and media

emerging, mid-range to established artists with an unwavering passion for film, video
) M0 h* }' x. mand media art. FAVA offers: a variety of workshops for artistic and skill development; is a
r3 M: J' k0 rresource for production equipment and post-production facilities; hosts events and

Job Description: The Film, Video & Media Arts Assistant will report to the Executive
2 z M3 x& m; G8 D' WDirector and work with the Production Coordinator and Maintenance Coordinator by
; e' u; s+ v+ S: X# R& o$ k$ k" Wassisting in the day-to-day operations of the Production Department. 4 \5 Z' B/ M% Y# f( [8 Y# \
/ L4 f: A* M5 ODuties:
+ Z- j# d, v/ Z, N; R- Assist with research on acquisition grants & y( P/ Z/ t) N! Y8 A# y6 r
- Assist with production and post-production gear and facilities
; g: V! ~2 p* e. L+ C' Q1 B- Assist with equipment maintenance 0 k+ u: e% Y9 y5 l( W: l, C5 C
- Assist with production logistics for programming events ; G7 ?* B' ]! D# S2 ^$ |+ U5 {
- Assist with communication with members and interoffice staff
9 f& R$ N' d: K$ f3 Y3 z- Enforce FAVA’s standard of use policies where applicable : C% K& l' @; }& G
- Provide vacation relief

- Applicants must be unemployed and attending (or have recently completed) a post-0 m- v8 n9 \/ i+ e! ]7 R
secondary training

- Length of position: 12 consecutive weeks

- A passionate interest in film, video and media arts - H b) `5 v8 e, c7 B
- Advance skills in technical aspects of film and video equipment

- Advance skills of current trends in technology i.e. HD . ^/ R0 j% j$ @1 {' \* ?) }
- Strong team player abilities
