+ F) N) Q/ X7 N3 R8 z2 I, u6 dFAVA is currently looking for a Film, Video & Media Arts Assistant to join the FAVA team for 12 weeks in the summer of 2009. FAVA is a non-profit, charitable organization

$ G! T8 n5 K+ {6 a- `7 K NFAVA serves members with diverse backgrounds and levels of experience, ranging from ( Z& }4 z, A9 `
emerging, mid-range to established artists with an unwavering passion for film, video
( J+ x; u0 y0 z8 }7 dand media art. FAVA offers: a variety of workshops for artistic and skill development; is a
) x4 ?. z3 d9 V" H4 M2 yresource for production equipment and post-production facilities; hosts events and
* u. ~ g7 e" S% o6 W% @ {screenings; and fosters and develops a dynamic media arts community in Northern

, L4 p$ h2 U$ r0 L+ wJob Description: The Film, Video & Media Arts Assistant will report to the Executive # ~5 P7 T8 d" }
Director and work with the Production Coordinator and Maintenance Coordinator by 3 D9 A3 G! x" S$ ]4 g% f+ ]. l
assisting in the day-to-day operations of the Production Department. , I! i! w8 m% V/ g
( @$ t+ g5 F3 V! I3 d& o, V7 I \Duties:
' I1 b! L9 I7 K0 }0 l- j V- Assist with research on acquisition grants ! Q. q0 y- a# [& H$ L2 q5 m- @
- Assist with production and post-production gear and facilities ! E' Z& l$ o- g1 h
- Assist with equipment maintenance
3 c1 }* i: x2 E# `$ ~( g: p9 U- Assist with production logistics for programming events
; w- i* C9 c: L$ b- Assist with communication with members and interoffice staff
% _; h! }) R' R' g. U4 G- Enforce FAVA’s standard of use policies where applicable + ]4 }0 s, J! }: l m0 b7 r) G- d
- Provide vacation relief

- Wage is $15.00 per hour, 35 hours per week

Qualifications: The ideal candidate will have:
5 d( T2 N |0 E1 n# a7 W% X- A passionate interest in film, video and media arts 5 x% Z3 H% \2 x8 |# t& ^4 `) g. C
- Advance skills in technical aspects of film and video equipment 3 Q, K+ G" ~. `. `
- Advance organizational and research skills
0 |2 N' E! D! V$ Y7 }1 y% k- Advance skills of current trends in technology i.e. HD 8 k$ y( n, N# f+ ?
- Strong team player abilities
- J6 H& L" {0 R: ^* R- Interest in working for an arts organization that is governed by a Board of Directors
