; ^, ?8 M: M: H: \1 ~; \) z; {FAVA is currently looking for a Film, Video & Media Arts Assistant to join the FAVA team for 12 weeks in the summer of 2009. FAVA is a non-profit, charitable organization 4 h9 U B1 [5 x* d. T8 z
whose mandate is to support the production and exhibition of film, video and media
) L9 [( a' H) W/ N8 U) gartists from Northern Alberta.

7 h& R9 v0 a- P {& f: o% o" H5 B5 VFAVA serves members with diverse backgrounds and levels of experience, ranging from
, }/ P1 K' C a9 q: memerging, mid-range to established artists with an unwavering passion for film, video $ J$ Y3 a& E7 n4 D
and media art. FAVA offers: a variety of workshops for artistic and skill development; is a 0 @! W; h6 F: i% }4 G
resource for production equipment and post-production facilities; hosts events and $ w/ p/ x) U& @, a/ Z' x
screenings; and fosters and develops a dynamic media arts community in Northern ! S. y/ `, X2 B
Alberta.

+ ~7 O( i! B, x' K) HJob Description: The Film, Video & Media Arts Assistant will report to the Executive ; ]1 k, `- v w. _
Director and work with the Production Coordinator and Maintenance Coordinator by 2 x! K0 J- f* _% u" [
assisting in the day-to-day operations of the Production Department.

Duties:
) q ^1 W* ?$ t7 C" _; u" D2 c" p- Assist with research on acquisition grants
8 R0 s; t. v- z8 y1 B, f2 O' o- Assist with production and post-production gear and facilities 3 u7 ~. H( I- I: Y. M/ f
- Assist with equipment maintenance
" T$ c) k, z- p- Assist with production logistics for programming events
7 m. ?3 t" u- V6 X( t- Assist with communication with members and interoffice staff 6 f" F9 I( P. z1 w# }( ^7 \2 w: X3 Y
- Enforce FAVA’s standard of use policies where applicable

- Applicants must be unemployed and attending (or have recently completed) a post-

- Wage is $15.00 per hour, 35 hours per week % k; z' m2 y+ c( L8 u: L: \
- Length of position: 12 consecutive weeks

- Advance skills in technical aspects of film and video equipment 3 f: @: v% w8 a X. P @" ]2 ~
- Advance organizational and research skills
; \3 h: V7 ~( l- Advance skills of current trends in technology i.e. HD
