/ I4 ^' P/ s! O6 SFAVA is currently looking for a Film, Video & Media Arts Assistant to join the FAVA team for 12 weeks in the summer of 2009. FAVA is a non-profit, charitable organization # _" i7 S7 `! v; q" E; w
whose mandate is to support the production and exhibition of film, video and media - ]0 _, E4 g- K' Y

FAVA serves members with diverse backgrounds and levels of experience, ranging from , K3 w, v, j4 F& p U
emerging, mid-range to established artists with an unwavering passion for film, video 5 k, Y0 P4 g: c' y1 l. c; m4 y& P( x
and media art. FAVA offers: a variety of workshops for artistic and skill development; is a * L2 U' N# {5 C* X+ E, [2 P
resource for production equipment and post-production facilities; hosts events and

! y5 r. P9 F' h7 i: DJob Description: The Film, Video & Media Arts Assistant will report to the Executive
! D3 h8 H, ~' @1 t9 i6 Z: [5 lDirector and work with the Production Coordinator and Maintenance Coordinator by
% \: q. Y; g5 R0 b+ ]* A, I; i5 H" qassisting in the day-to-day operations of the Production Department. / t k+ z/ L6 x$ @% k

Duties: ( y* ^; U; w/ g/ n7 w c( C8 r7 B
- Assist with research on acquisition grants
! I6 i* F. b. {) T% s" k# X- Assist with production and post-production gear and facilities 5 ]' ]4 n. ~8 W v# s
- Assist with equipment maintenance * R- b( X' \) T" u% d7 x4 v
- Assist with production logistics for programming events : L d# U1 S7 e" ^$ | ~0 _! ]1 X1 ?
- Assist with communication with members and interoffice staff

- Provide vacation relief

- Advance skills in technical aspects of film and video equipment

- Advance skills of current trends in technology i.e. HD
