FAVA is currently looking for a Film, Video & Media Arts Assistant to join the FAVA team for 12 weeks in the summer of 2009. FAVA is a non-profit, charitable organization 0 O% l4 L, r) L g: ]
whose mandate is to support the production and exhibition of film, video and media 7 @% v X6 [+ r) P! W$ U" {
artists from Northern Alberta.

FAVA serves members with diverse backgrounds and levels of experience, ranging from
9 S, D1 g( T/ o7 jemerging, mid-range to established artists with an unwavering passion for film, video # \' v# f5 |8 ~5 f
and media art. FAVA offers: a variety of workshops for artistic and skill development; is a . `2 k* O3 R2 `
resource for production equipment and post-production facilities; hosts events and

Alberta.

) Y1 o4 e, p9 s8 x% m% bJob Description: The Film, Video & Media Arts Assistant will report to the Executive
; g) O* C) n. Z4 J$ ~7 WDirector and work with the Production Coordinator and Maintenance Coordinator by $ M1 Z* I+ N6 ]7 Q0 z, m
assisting in the day-to-day operations of the Production Department.

Duties: + M5 S4 Q/ u1 c/ u. u
- Assist with research on acquisition grants
8 J! j. J; j8 X. y& F; O. A- Assist with production and post-production gear and facilities 0 g( }% T- M: }, F- L# t
- Assist with equipment maintenance ' c* R, n9 {. E x
- Assist with production logistics for programming events V6 n1 y' w. G5 q* Y
- Assist with communication with members and interoffice staff

- Applicants must be unemployed and attending (or have recently completed) a post-) n9 q4 [1 I4 U7 w- A6 Q1 o7 k
secondary training

- Length of position: 12 consecutive weeks
