( s* t: t; J1 }FAVA is currently looking for a Film, Video & Media Arts Assistant to join the FAVA team for 12 weeks in the summer of 2009. FAVA is a non-profit, charitable organization " V5 |) Q8 P c3 M
whose mandate is to support the production and exhibition of film, video and media ; c& n3 \0 N4 `4 ?
artists from Northern Alberta.

and media art. FAVA offers: a variety of workshops for artistic and skill development; is a / R6 w; R9 H" D+ d8 o$ ~2 ~
resource for production equipment and post-production facilities; hosts events and 5 R; Z) y( a: F1 `5 x7 r" q
screenings; and fosters and develops a dynamic media arts community in Northern

Job Description: The Film, Video & Media Arts Assistant will report to the Executive : J* n9 _/ n2 \( s- d+ N4 ?, ^
Director and work with the Production Coordinator and Maintenance Coordinator by
1 a+ {" I) k- d- q4 ?6 |assisting in the day-to-day operations of the Production Department. 2 Z2 e2 `# \+ y; [/ w! M
, j( ?8 P1 P. s, e' nDuties: 4 A7 n$ g# w( I- i8 P7 M5 A
- Assist with research on acquisition grants 8 |! H' V6 u" `7 p% {
- Assist with production and post-production gear and facilities 5 `" J+ n1 Y3 k
- Assist with equipment maintenance
( v$ _% N9 T4 `9 A1 B9 f* u- Assist with production logistics for programming events
- X5 E4 z- C5 }5 j( b2 G* L- Assist with communication with members and interoffice staff
( \" J; X! s' ?8 D; u- Enforce FAVA’s standard of use policies where applicable

- Wage is $15.00 per hour, 35 hours per week . E; k( j& }0 r2 |' z. }
- Length of position: 12 consecutive weeks

Qualifications: The ideal candidate will have:

- Advance skills in technical aspects of film and video equipment : i" y% Y1 O0 z8 F
- Advance organizational and research skills $ n. J" ^+ o/ u1 E0 i' k
- Advance skills of current trends in technology i.e. HD

- Interest in working for an arts organization that is governed by a Board of Directors , g+ ~5 {2 t/ x* S2 r+ \
