: o: Z- K8 d# E/ }3 t$ y7 bFAVA is currently looking for a Film, Video & Media Arts Assistant to join the FAVA team for 12 weeks in the summer of 2009. FAVA is a non-profit, charitable organization ! l' B' v$ p2 E# G, M
whose mandate is to support the production and exhibition of film, video and media $ T/ o& }! Q) K
artists from Northern Alberta.

FAVA serves members with diverse backgrounds and levels of experience, ranging from 6 [7 F, K4 [, W$ L
emerging, mid-range to established artists with an unwavering passion for film, video
- D! E7 T* c: R! _2 Tand media art. FAVA offers: a variety of workshops for artistic and skill development; is a ) F Z: J% J Q5 R- G" c
resource for production equipment and post-production facilities; hosts events and
: ]3 W, y _* K$ U7 Wscreenings; and fosters and develops a dynamic media arts community in Northern 1 @9 e1 H2 ?! }% w' h s+ ^

Job Description: The Film, Video & Media Arts Assistant will report to the Executive 8 A, C! w& D- H7 `; G/ t3 ~
Director and work with the Production Coordinator and Maintenance Coordinator by ( c* |' g, x. W' r% h
assisting in the day-to-day operations of the Production Department. 2 m! L' M2 e) J% E. x/ r* E! p

Duties: : K7 r- j/ |/ S, q/ S
- Assist with research on acquisition grants # J) |6 t0 m0 q, K
- Assist with production and post-production gear and facilities
, t% @" l: q1 x# R$ X- Assist with equipment maintenance 1 m: {3 j4 R9 J# b
- Assist with production logistics for programming events
$ F- y2 X- X8 a. N( Z- Assist with communication with members and interoffice staff
4 n# j5 \/ z6 @+ F# z9 I- Enforce FAVA’s standard of use policies where applicable

- Advance skills of current trends in technology i.e. HD " N# b% f$ e: j! |# T
- Strong team player abilities 1 `- k8 P# X4 y S) u/ ~
- Interest in working for an arts organization that is governed by a Board of Directors
