FAVA is currently looking for a Film, Video & Media Arts Assistant to join the FAVA team for 12 weeks in the summer of 2009. FAVA is a non-profit, charitable organization ! e- R# @% l. c m/ |* r
whose mandate is to support the production and exhibition of film, video and media , i) n% _7 T* s% [8 I5 J3 ~
artists from Northern Alberta.

FAVA serves members with diverse backgrounds and levels of experience, ranging from 0 X- K0 Q6 [. i- u8 K1 a
emerging, mid-range to established artists with an unwavering passion for film, video
4 P& m/ ?, y" ]' M9 K# N7 q# m- Aand media art. FAVA offers: a variety of workshops for artistic and skill development; is a 3 h8 }$ y3 V, l
resource for production equipment and post-production facilities; hosts events and

- f4 V2 t2 K( hJob Description: The Film, Video & Media Arts Assistant will report to the Executive 1 t* h. c% h2 O5 O
Director and work with the Production Coordinator and Maintenance Coordinator by

Duties: ' z2 }1 I0 o2 q; J/ \# `1 y M/ p. j4 X
- Assist with research on acquisition grants : k: W' p6 m/ G9 Q
- Assist with production and post-production gear and facilities ( q9 T; F# V+ ]3 w; o
- Assist with equipment maintenance
! Y9 n' a" Y+ s8 L% U" }- Assist with production logistics for programming events - v4 i. F1 q/ L' p& s L$ r
- Assist with communication with members and interoffice staff 0 B D: w# J6 y- G; R
- Enforce FAVA’s standard of use policies where applicable 6 z% V2 H, O8 a0 s! ?/ R/ y1 G, H
- Provide vacation relief ; \0 Q) W# ~( @8 v+ [+ R

- Applicants must be unemployed and attending (or have recently completed) a post-1 y# x9 L4 O% ?, X
secondary training
) y0 ]$ i) p, u0 ^" [' O- Wage is $15.00 per hour, 35 hours per week

- A passionate interest in film, video and media arts , k- t% G, r2 @
- Advance skills in technical aspects of film and video equipment

- T* v% h3 c: b6 D8 N! w" Q- Advance skills of current trends in technology i.e. HD 2 w+ `$ u. Q+ u) W
- Strong team player abilities
