FAVA is currently looking for a Film, Video & Media Arts Assistant to join the FAVA team for 12 weeks in the summer of 2009. FAVA is a non-profit, charitable organization 5 C+ ?5 ^: d/ r+ ^7 F
whose mandate is to support the production and exhibition of film, video and media
6 {6 c( W) t8 Vartists from Northern Alberta.

; k r. }9 ?2 q, Y5 H- H6 VFAVA serves members with diverse backgrounds and levels of experience, ranging from

and media art. FAVA offers: a variety of workshops for artistic and skill development; is a + A* E z* E# @ O6 O
resource for production equipment and post-production facilities; hosts events and ! i, w) ?3 k+ O) e7 Q3 A! A
screenings; and fosters and develops a dynamic media arts community in Northern
$ g% Z b, ]0 x" H/ rAlberta.

Job Description: The Film, Video & Media Arts Assistant will report to the Executive [" d6 |3 N9 W" e
Director and work with the Production Coordinator and Maintenance Coordinator by - Y9 h6 K8 S+ D( N& Q
assisting in the day-to-day operations of the Production Department.

{0 Z: b+ A- U0 Y4 yDuties:
6 t# e' f% i! V) Q3 V- Assist with research on acquisition grants
8 u; K; m- A, g- Assist with production and post-production gear and facilities
9 w% p. h3 i X+ T2 N. K- Assist with equipment maintenance
6 D1 K1 O/ ?; H( f1 e- Assist with production logistics for programming events ! _) `/ g( {- q6 m
- Assist with communication with members and interoffice staff

- Length of position: 12 consecutive weeks

- Advance organizational and research skills

- Strong team player abilities
