FAVA is currently looking for a Film, Video & Media Arts Assistant to join the FAVA team for 12 weeks in the summer of 2009. FAVA is a non-profit, charitable organization

) Q( h' d. V8 G; k2 Zartists from Northern Alberta.

FAVA serves members with diverse backgrounds and levels of experience, ranging from 5 n( S3 O+ s! Y4 U+ `" f0 g& y6 p
emerging, mid-range to established artists with an unwavering passion for film, video
; E, Z3 Q5 ~6 Dand media art. FAVA offers: a variety of workshops for artistic and skill development; is a
' n% c6 e, a& ~0 cresource for production equipment and post-production facilities; hosts events and ( ^1 L8 F% L( E& w" z. m2 n- x* W
screenings; and fosters and develops a dynamic media arts community in Northern

Job Description: The Film, Video & Media Arts Assistant will report to the Executive
5 k2 |( ^- _* R+ O0 m5 xDirector and work with the Production Coordinator and Maintenance Coordinator by & m+ h5 L8 k. s" x
assisting in the day-to-day operations of the Production Department.

- Assist with research on acquisition grants ; l2 K# q- Z0 h( R
- Assist with production and post-production gear and facilities + L5 w( ]2 E2 ~, R
- Assist with equipment maintenance : a2 ^, H r7 v7 J. J. ]
- Assist with production logistics for programming events 0 A- o& [. A0 o3 H% ]
- Assist with communication with members and interoffice staff 4 J. J3 ^' ^/ b8 e* N% r
- Enforce FAVA’s standard of use policies where applicable

secondary training

- A passionate interest in film, video and media arts ! W- I, V: T; u+ F' N
- Advance skills in technical aspects of film and video equipment : U: y+ C5 }6 V. P. Y5 j7 j& J- }" u
- Advance organizational and research skills

- Interest in working for an arts organization that is governed by a Board of Directors
