FAVA is currently looking for a Film, Video & Media Arts Assistant to join the FAVA team for 12 weeks in the summer of 2009. FAVA is a non-profit, charitable organization
, N) Y3 H! s$ `9 Awhose mandate is to support the production and exhibition of film, video and media
8 F* X7 Y: I) w# uartists from Northern Alberta.

FAVA serves members with diverse backgrounds and levels of experience, ranging from
[, N% B, m' V Y8 Lemerging, mid-range to established artists with an unwavering passion for film, video
( k+ @, \( }/ s! sand media art. FAVA offers: a variety of workshops for artistic and skill development; is a . [! q8 Z- ^2 S; v% w
resource for production equipment and post-production facilities; hosts events and # \8 w7 i) t' `8 M
screenings; and fosters and develops a dynamic media arts community in Northern

Job Description: The Film, Video & Media Arts Assistant will report to the Executive
( k5 e$ N- r1 u. K" ^$ ZDirector and work with the Production Coordinator and Maintenance Coordinator by - ] k0 M3 F+ y0 b& q& u. A& p J. f
assisting in the day-to-day operations of the Production Department. 7 t5 p5 E5 E: M: P. q2 U4 C9 p% Z' \
" H9 D- P) U/ d, m2 |/ b3 f4 D
Duties: 9 I& K9 g9 q" t$ o
- Assist with research on acquisition grants % I' u `" T: v) q
- Assist with production and post-production gear and facilities
* M T' \/ b3 f5 m9 i# o! i- Assist with equipment maintenance
8 A6 t/ P2 g+ T+ M- Assist with production logistics for programming events
6 F" G% Q* u/ k5 x/ J- Assist with communication with members and interoffice staff

- Provide vacation relief

- Wage is $15.00 per hour, 35 hours per week ! v8 Z- X! a; }* T7 e
- Length of position: 12 consecutive weeks 0 \& U8 p6 W; M9 Q& P+ v% }; k% U# `

7 r3 [! y& P% U, V4 O% \- A passionate interest in film, video and media arts
5 R) T4 y9 c9 A4 i- L, b& F- Advance skills in technical aspects of film and video equipment ! ~$ ^# `' }9 l+ ~: a
- Advance organizational and research skills ! a# J/ P% V" f/ P9 O- @
- Advance skills of current trends in technology i.e. HD 9 ^4 e% @3 _; f4 b" O
- Strong team player abilities
