whose mandate is to support the production and exhibition of film, video and media

and media art. FAVA offers: a variety of workshops for artistic and skill development; is a
: h, a" I" Q+ l: L+ ^, Lresource for production equipment and post-production facilities; hosts events and 3 `6 G2 f5 u0 f
screenings; and fosters and develops a dynamic media arts community in Northern , x ^! l- j( q. a3 f

1 [* \+ m' T( SJob Description: The Film, Video & Media Arts Assistant will report to the Executive
1 e7 d% b3 ^- U/ _+ h, @Director and work with the Production Coordinator and Maintenance Coordinator by 4 ]) ~7 r# q7 d7 o: E, X
assisting in the day-to-day operations of the Production Department. * r( Q8 ~* e9 n. f) _' F

Duties: + t8 \7 `) q3 k- H0 e
- Assist with research on acquisition grants " j" w8 O6 j! o) R1 v
- Assist with production and post-production gear and facilities
3 v& U9 o( s# W! K- Assist with equipment maintenance 8 u5 W! d: P/ E& N! b" X
- Assist with production logistics for programming events
2 r* o# u( [) I o4 E- Assist with communication with members and interoffice staff " |$ r* Y, Z; V1 H
- Enforce FAVA’s standard of use policies where applicable 9 A. t: ^, K. r7 h3 M6 z
- Provide vacation relief

- Wage is $15.00 per hour, 35 hours per week

- Advance skills in technical aspects of film and video equipment

+ F; y q: Y/ a1 p0 X- Advance skills of current trends in technology i.e. HD
