FAVA is currently looking for a Film, Video & Media Arts Assistant to join the FAVA team for 12 weeks in the summer of 2009. FAVA is a non-profit, charitable organization 0 u6 y+ \ N, t$ H
whose mandate is to support the production and exhibition of film, video and media

FAVA serves members with diverse backgrounds and levels of experience, ranging from
/ y% J* D1 ^) n" s% g' u2 h; _% vemerging, mid-range to established artists with an unwavering passion for film, video
+ m# _. B* w: Z$ J& land media art. FAVA offers: a variety of workshops for artistic and skill development; is a
3 K/ V+ k+ W+ qresource for production equipment and post-production facilities; hosts events and

: Y6 B. p9 ?* y2 [Job Description: The Film, Video & Media Arts Assistant will report to the Executive
1 U+ ^" F$ C, J4 GDirector and work with the Production Coordinator and Maintenance Coordinator by ; z6 t/ P/ ^6 n/ V
assisting in the day-to-day operations of the Production Department.

0 E# ]- a4 r& ]* n* I& @8 f/ a8 nDuties: ; c( ?, V$ u& Q, H; J* g: F( D
- Assist with research on acquisition grants
7 K; ]' U& B1 Y1 A* }4 r6 O* E/ j- Assist with production and post-production gear and facilities
# I. `* z# W. a. J; E; D' s- Assist with equipment maintenance " U4 G* J- _' y4 O' H5 ]8 G8 i7 t( Y
- Assist with production logistics for programming events
8 r; ]( ~! ^. k; `6 K0 y- Assist with communication with members and interoffice staff
* m3 X3 i" W; I/ s$ V3 N) i- Enforce FAVA’s standard of use policies where applicable

Qualifications: The ideal candidate will have:

* \- x% j. }( W- Advance skills in technical aspects of film and video equipment
+ N0 D9 n) M. T- Advance organizational and research skills 5 {' Q, q' J. x! J+ a& l
- Advance skills of current trends in technology i.e. HD % z% l& J% `1 c# a; }0 d5 d
- Strong team player abilities / V! Q7 f L& y0 m0 U
- Interest in working for an arts organization that is governed by a Board of Directors
