0 f( A% y& d3 s7 ^4 [) R mFAVA is currently looking for a Film, Video & Media Arts Assistant to join the FAVA team for 12 weeks in the summer of 2009. FAVA is a non-profit, charitable organization 8 y! b: f+ t; r% x
whose mandate is to support the production and exhibition of film, video and media

FAVA serves members with diverse backgrounds and levels of experience, ranging from
! @ y- i7 g1 G8 }2 W! @emerging, mid-range to established artists with an unwavering passion for film, video 4 ]$ S0 i- F" ?) C
and media art. FAVA offers: a variety of workshops for artistic and skill development; is a
4 o- w, Z& x2 X; r; _resource for production equipment and post-production facilities; hosts events and
0 |% A* l8 c, u4 t* ?screenings; and fosters and develops a dynamic media arts community in Northern 4 a* G: d4 O2 e9 H. m8 Z5 g

% O. m* }6 L8 wJob Description: The Film, Video & Media Arts Assistant will report to the Executive
9 b3 {5 \' \6 s3 kDirector and work with the Production Coordinator and Maintenance Coordinator by

Duties:
8 W% d& {" b! a# M+ N" X- Assist with research on acquisition grants . G( _! F% \* r" c q' C. ~' n
- Assist with production and post-production gear and facilities
/ w( w+ b V. Z9 l% G3 b7 a- Assist with equipment maintenance . P* {: {2 |. v. }
- Assist with production logistics for programming events
. O( I- c5 Z" t6 q- Assist with communication with members and interoffice staff ) d7 v' G( @, ~' f' G9 @! q7 \2 f
- Enforce FAVA’s standard of use policies where applicable ( u! [7 Q' Y/ e3 b) Y* W
- Provide vacation relief 6 X; B, D& P. o6 f0 c4 T

- Applicants must be unemployed and attending (or have recently completed) a post-; i9 w2 m0 ^ P: b# N2 A

- Wage is $15.00 per hour, 35 hours per week 4 K# d( z) p: S5 {. z
- Length of position: 12 consecutive weeks

- Advance skills of current trends in technology i.e. HD
