; M0 a' l+ D: A1 g+ [$ Q" hFAVA is currently looking for a Film, Video & Media Arts Assistant to join the FAVA team for 12 weeks in the summer of 2009. FAVA is a non-profit, charitable organization % H- Y& [3 J+ A1 k# g
whose mandate is to support the production and exhibition of film, video and media * E" D. ^& d; e; Y g
artists from Northern Alberta. + I% F ~8 c0 d) s+ ? l1 N( E3 V) s

FAVA serves members with diverse backgrounds and levels of experience, ranging from
9 U j3 ^6 n- J6 W, v6 b6 }emerging, mid-range to established artists with an unwavering passion for film, video
! U4 R3 ^2 c5 K) ^' \2 s( [$ `and media art. FAVA offers: a variety of workshops for artistic and skill development; is a 6 v- ?/ w7 u7 w0 N U/ Z1 ?5 s, [
resource for production equipment and post-production facilities; hosts events and : N3 y( I e3 c6 b- n8 k% w: w
screenings; and fosters and develops a dynamic media arts community in Northern 9 K% H0 C+ I7 w5 g

Job Description: The Film, Video & Media Arts Assistant will report to the Executive
9 X2 U* N2 B8 ~; I; UDirector and work with the Production Coordinator and Maintenance Coordinator by % U6 o; A% X2 {' @6 y, U* d- K, t
assisting in the day-to-day operations of the Production Department. , E5 e( W {! a- s1 }& ?3 T

Duties:
. _0 P( B( t. K0 q- Assist with research on acquisition grants
0 d* T9 J! ^. F# q; H- Assist with production and post-production gear and facilities # I- ~0 @ f# B7 _# Q. q
- Assist with equipment maintenance + y' Y4 g9 v4 Z" j
- Assist with production logistics for programming events
/ R& i3 n( o4 s" l- Assist with communication with members and interoffice staff
) ~, H0 V, S! X( u- Enforce FAVA’s standard of use policies where applicable
& Q: s; N! Y" ~& G- Provide vacation relief , M' i. B7 X# s- F4 a5 r4 E/ @

- Applicants must be unemployed and attending (or have recently completed) a post-# V# q& w9 ?0 w0 L+ D+ x

- Wage is $15.00 per hour, 35 hours per week

- Advance organizational and research skills
, X/ @$ d+ W6 G5 L, _- Advance skills of current trends in technology i.e. HD
