; ]! v3 g) b: S# a" _FAVA is currently looking for a Film, Video & Media Arts Assistant to join the FAVA team for 12 weeks in the summer of 2009. FAVA is a non-profit, charitable organization 1 Z& |3 J# \2 y( x y) o
whose mandate is to support the production and exhibition of film, video and media

- Q* t( y' S( o- ?# xFAVA serves members with diverse backgrounds and levels of experience, ranging from
: F* J! K! m. nemerging, mid-range to established artists with an unwavering passion for film, video 4 ~ }! y4 _; e3 k
and media art. FAVA offers: a variety of workshops for artistic and skill development; is a 3 T! L# I* P' S6 I8 \# E
resource for production equipment and post-production facilities; hosts events and " ]) q/ z$ q" ]- {: _/ g
screenings; and fosters and develops a dynamic media arts community in Northern

Job Description: The Film, Video & Media Arts Assistant will report to the Executive
1 Y6 {2 w% P1 s0 L- eDirector and work with the Production Coordinator and Maintenance Coordinator by ) U- x0 {2 d/ `! ]' p
assisting in the day-to-day operations of the Production Department. + ^( }" D' ?, S1 Z, b, k. t7 y
: n( ?0 @, W. P9 c/ D" e: l7 S( ~Duties:
3 I2 b @1 y2 `$ g$ H- Assist with research on acquisition grants 9 o7 i* N3 @; Q7 Q+ h) [
- Assist with production and post-production gear and facilities
- f; i; Z' u R: @4 D- Assist with equipment maintenance
0 C. o! ?& |2 t- Assist with production logistics for programming events
# P0 A4 s2 J; A! W9 R- Assist with communication with members and interoffice staff ( f2 a+ [! f1 I
- Enforce FAVA’s standard of use policies where applicable

- A passionate interest in film, video and media arts

- Advance skills of current trends in technology i.e. HD
