whose mandate is to support the production and exhibition of film, video and media

FAVA serves members with diverse backgrounds and levels of experience, ranging from 8 L8 v1 L3 a! u: V
emerging, mid-range to established artists with an unwavering passion for film, video
a& V7 b1 o- K8 R. Cand media art. FAVA offers: a variety of workshops for artistic and skill development; is a
0 n$ r6 m. _3 B) V% Kresource for production equipment and post-production facilities; hosts events and
9 r. z; k6 P- D- n% a+ v8 D0 x: ?, Escreenings; and fosters and develops a dynamic media arts community in Northern

7 s* ?+ k- C- ~* |7 J; tJob Description: The Film, Video & Media Arts Assistant will report to the Executive
I* i8 I& P9 n( P. ]Director and work with the Production Coordinator and Maintenance Coordinator by
1 Z% a6 {# W9 d _assisting in the day-to-day operations of the Production Department.
+ b: c) T! i5 B1 E 3 |7 \+ }: u' `6 K/ m. x% X
Duties: 6 e& {" Z! r b6 v
- Assist with research on acquisition grants
. ^' _3 a |1 E C" @- Assist with production and post-production gear and facilities
% i8 U! ?! M. z$ g" s z- Assist with equipment maintenance
& b) F* |1 A: Q% s6 r+ G Q- Assist with production logistics for programming events 7 ~8 L! K+ `; ~0 A2 _
- Assist with communication with members and interoffice staff % ]0 H& g8 G* F) L. \/ Y
- Enforce FAVA’s standard of use policies where applicable
) N7 c! A6 ^( o9 y- Provide vacation relief

- Length of position: 12 consecutive weeks

- Advance skills in technical aspects of film and video equipment
