) ?4 d: Y6 U0 [) l5 MFAVA is currently looking for a Film, Video & Media Arts Assistant to join the FAVA team for 12 weeks in the summer of 2009. FAVA is a non-profit, charitable organization

0 f$ `7 f# @1 u/ E% r, yFAVA serves members with diverse backgrounds and levels of experience, ranging from 4 v0 Z4 q0 J- N8 X+ y' `! x8 j
emerging, mid-range to established artists with an unwavering passion for film, video $ o5 k7 K! ]6 C" A }: t% }( ?: t* Q
and media art. FAVA offers: a variety of workshops for artistic and skill development; is a
2 w/ p% T9 ?4 Uresource for production equipment and post-production facilities; hosts events and

Job Description: The Film, Video & Media Arts Assistant will report to the Executive 1 g$ m" |# P1 z) D, u/ ~
Director and work with the Production Coordinator and Maintenance Coordinator by 2 }5 `6 z, P2 G. t
assisting in the day-to-day operations of the Production Department.

9 H9 {1 z8 ], @' L! U* VDuties: 7 @9 i. v, \2 k. P
- Assist with research on acquisition grants
7 |4 S$ u/ w+ B M8 ^0 T& T" I- Assist with production and post-production gear and facilities
- z9 D- z/ i. }1 C$ B" A- Assist with equipment maintenance 9 Y4 Y T$ m& x) k5 ~7 ]( P
- Assist with production logistics for programming events l; h* `- |/ r$ c5 k/ @
- Assist with communication with members and interoffice staff 7 K5 I2 D3 t3 u+ B, N
- Enforce FAVA’s standard of use policies where applicable

- Advance skills in technical aspects of film and video equipment * t6 N5 n$ H8 F7 b! A
- Advance organizational and research skills - f( {5 \. m' c
- Advance skills of current trends in technology i.e. HD - `3 u7 G F9 \; T6 s
- Strong team player abilities
