FAVA serves members with diverse backgrounds and levels of experience, ranging from
1 {1 S" i( `5 I) u+ ]/ M, aemerging, mid-range to established artists with an unwavering passion for film, video 1 ?; F! R) J$ d: I0 r- t
and media art. FAVA offers: a variety of workshops for artistic and skill development; is a
0 o( L- c' q* n# s5 v2 M% Oresource for production equipment and post-production facilities; hosts events and 3 G( |. U. Y8 I3 N+ r
screenings; and fosters and develops a dynamic media arts community in Northern $ u N( E# z+ E4 \7 y& }4 z: K

8 b$ J* f' E' IJob Description: The Film, Video & Media Arts Assistant will report to the Executive 2 l! m7 A% J6 b4 y- t
Director and work with the Production Coordinator and Maintenance Coordinator by ) w" ?! n. N2 s8 P0 ~& P! d
assisting in the day-to-day operations of the Production Department.
) V+ w9 b3 K, ~5 k 7 B2 [ c0 O4 n5 B5 V
Duties:
; \: z, r. r% l, H- Assist with research on acquisition grants
' c+ g2 ?5 p j. K8 r9 w- Assist with production and post-production gear and facilities 2 N7 X& w# r& V; F) H, P* x5 E
- Assist with equipment maintenance
: z( }, q, e- P6 O( D" C( p6 D4 ?7 t- Assist with production logistics for programming events . b2 E5 x" s. F4 {
- Assist with communication with members and interoffice staff
6 ]) f* d' j; d, c9 x+ ?4 q- Enforce FAVA’s standard of use policies where applicable

- Applicants must be unemployed and attending (or have recently completed) a post-3 b% Y" W9 s. p! `1 E
secondary training
; W: ]1 p8 c# I6 C- Wage is $15.00 per hour, 35 hours per week

Qualifications: The ideal candidate will have: 8 w# w+ M- y. X
- A passionate interest in film, video and media arts 2 Z8 o2 X u$ R) k( V% W
- Advance skills in technical aspects of film and video equipment
/ O6 y, ]( g% g7 J+ Q3 W- Advance organizational and research skills
) R8 i- l% X7 \) O- Advance skills of current trends in technology i.e. HD
( h! M! ]( S2 X: N7 u" ?- Strong team player abilities ; U/ _" ^6 [3 o. u9 G/ {" n, R
- Interest in working for an arts organization that is governed by a Board of Directors + O9 y: `6 }/ t% ^5 a f
