FAVA is currently looking for a Film, Video & Media Arts Assistant to join the FAVA team for 12 weeks in the summer of 2009. FAVA is a non-profit, charitable organization
* c3 x. g# w2 d, Z5 W9 {& ]whose mandate is to support the production and exhibition of film, video and media
9 \7 I5 ?& r$ J" U. partists from Northern Alberta.

FAVA serves members with diverse backgrounds and levels of experience, ranging from
( V( D0 f" H1 M, K2 Aemerging, mid-range to established artists with an unwavering passion for film, video
) y2 Z _% {% w, i0 _+ H8 r8 oand media art. FAVA offers: a variety of workshops for artistic and skill development; is a
% u& g& {6 K0 n, `resource for production equipment and post-production facilities; hosts events and
! g" D: x9 C5 S( g9 i Mscreenings; and fosters and develops a dynamic media arts community in Northern

Job Description: The Film, Video & Media Arts Assistant will report to the Executive $ |3 S. \8 h: L
Director and work with the Production Coordinator and Maintenance Coordinator by w) T& V$ F7 {) `6 x7 F! I
assisting in the day-to-day operations of the Production Department. 5 R5 b; k p1 y
1 {1 g4 {( n- K( G" x# WDuties:
0 w1 C7 G0 E( ^- I3 N- Assist with research on acquisition grants
$ Y. [$ |' N. {2 X) D0 V- Assist with production and post-production gear and facilities
/ u6 s o2 C! u- H; k0 t( k2 V- Assist with equipment maintenance
+ g( f, t. R' F- B. x% u- Assist with production logistics for programming events
0 M! S0 W. C" _- K5 Y3 M/ S- Assist with communication with members and interoffice staff
" W2 H: H/ y+ Q4 ^# g8 a- Enforce FAVA’s standard of use policies where applicable / z+ ^5 `8 @4 T

- Wage is $15.00 per hour, 35 hours per week

- A passionate interest in film, video and media arts
) ~+ ~- p0 U, X; c. O4 N/ D- Advance skills in technical aspects of film and video equipment
& {5 @/ H8 m$ `9 H& K0 O- Advance organizational and research skills / o' m+ V, n* ?1 h4 [1 c) E' R" w
- Advance skills of current trends in technology i.e. HD ! T3 y4 V' W4 h7 v, L' E
- Strong team player abilities
9 m s: q! u2 [( n- Interest in working for an arts organization that is governed by a Board of Directors
