FAVA is currently looking for a Film, Video & Media Arts Assistant to join the FAVA team for 12 weeks in the summer of 2009. FAVA is a non-profit, charitable organization
7 L8 `. G+ S% V+ swhose mandate is to support the production and exhibition of film, video and media
; ]5 M) M2 F4 |artists from Northern Alberta.

& {7 ?2 K" Q y. RFAVA serves members with diverse backgrounds and levels of experience, ranging from
" o$ D% m g% z6 G$ }emerging, mid-range to established artists with an unwavering passion for film, video 1 F/ J, Z' M4 H$ w3 Q6 v
and media art. FAVA offers: a variety of workshops for artistic and skill development; is a
- }( e! j- e3 i7 M6 l6 d, D, ]resource for production equipment and post-production facilities; hosts events and
) `3 N( z4 c3 vscreenings; and fosters and develops a dynamic media arts community in Northern , I: R! _: X# X8 z7 u5 h: k# e

Job Description: The Film, Video & Media Arts Assistant will report to the Executive 7 H3 k2 ]* Z# d( X O& p
Director and work with the Production Coordinator and Maintenance Coordinator by
. L8 a: L. b( g6 C, Gassisting in the day-to-day operations of the Production Department.
+ U! W4 y; u9 o8 l5 N6 s4 H$ b
* H4 a# W9 N& O, \* `) {Duties:
$ _6 l8 }$ f+ r, X8 @" d* _* P/ @- Assist with research on acquisition grants
+ `& c. `5 P& b% T; A; b, d- Assist with production and post-production gear and facilities
; O; P( b6 ~& Y, f; j% e- Assist with equipment maintenance
$ P$ E/ @# Y( W7 Z; J- Assist with production logistics for programming events
" j" i* t- A5 P4 M" u9 R, b4 R- Assist with communication with members and interoffice staff
& G$ Y4 Q* q+ ^% O- Enforce FAVA’s standard of use policies where applicable

- Advance skills in technical aspects of film and video equipment % c5 ^% a& Z) L- D0 O l
- Advance organizational and research skills / E9 n" {" f3 [# k) r
- Advance skills of current trends in technology i.e. HD + y; R% N* q+ e, O
- Strong team player abilities
