artists from Northern Alberta.

FAVA serves members with diverse backgrounds and levels of experience, ranging from

; _6 X+ i! ]) x: F0 f( Vand media art. FAVA offers: a variety of workshops for artistic and skill development; is a

, o0 u, ~1 e3 d. z, w- Lscreenings; and fosters and develops a dynamic media arts community in Northern / `( Y2 b# S( j

Job Description: The Film, Video & Media Arts Assistant will report to the Executive
& \+ t# M: O3 H! q( L5 UDirector and work with the Production Coordinator and Maintenance Coordinator by 8 {; Y& \( x: F. b0 [& g1 O
assisting in the day-to-day operations of the Production Department.
) ^* [2 ?8 T' h3 k! h8 q' u 6 m: ^: ^; X# o% B' J7 T
Duties:
' {2 {- x3 r) N9 }8 G: m) |: e7 P" t- Assist with research on acquisition grants & m4 k9 I, |( ?+ Y( p
- Assist with production and post-production gear and facilities
# v0 A" B. I& D0 `- Assist with equipment maintenance ( f2 S7 h. R3 f% o, q' @9 j0 c
- Assist with production logistics for programming events
) `8 \- }' z5 k4 i- Assist with communication with members and interoffice staff ! N+ W2 p9 W' d/ Q# v( O/ }
- Enforce FAVA’s standard of use policies where applicable 6 b7 E. j# ^4 B
- Provide vacation relief

- v% p ?" E# SQualifications: The ideal candidate will have: 3 u& E. c0 g0 p1 C; w9 x% M% G
- A passionate interest in film, video and media arts R: H7 q( d3 |) q* ?/ N
- Advance skills in technical aspects of film and video equipment
8 f! C$ \1 T& q- Advance organizational and research skills + u( o+ }2 _* W
- Advance skills of current trends in technology i.e. HD / T# r, w; ~; s+ Z: p
- Strong team player abilities 4 l# t. |% r! e& `
- Interest in working for an arts organization that is governed by a Board of Directors
