FAVA is currently looking for a Film, Video & Media Arts Assistant to join the FAVA team for 12 weeks in the summer of 2009. FAVA is a non-profit, charitable organization / _& R( S$ ~+ O% o
whose mandate is to support the production and exhibition of film, video and media

FAVA serves members with diverse backgrounds and levels of experience, ranging from

) A6 k. J$ j, d4 ~and media art. FAVA offers: a variety of workshops for artistic and skill development; is a

screenings; and fosters and develops a dynamic media arts community in Northern

. q. T' q7 ]9 Z! ^4 Z' yJob Description: The Film, Video & Media Arts Assistant will report to the Executive % j5 p$ Y. s( t
Director and work with the Production Coordinator and Maintenance Coordinator by
4 _* U7 V$ `* t C8 ~/ e6 P5 g4 ^assisting in the day-to-day operations of the Production Department.

) Y, Y5 R/ k- R3 [Duties: 2 O( U; X; Y2 @' B0 T8 n
- Assist with research on acquisition grants
. u+ T3 M) H: o$ L* [6 y$ C- Assist with production and post-production gear and facilities
' @* m& L# ~5 r# |" |& {- Assist with equipment maintenance
3 [2 f0 h7 V1 M# t- Assist with production logistics for programming events 3 H! r( u! R Z2 M
- Assist with communication with members and interoffice staff
9 G& x& A* e0 W% P5 \: F- Enforce FAVA’s standard of use policies where applicable

- Length of position: 12 consecutive weeks

- Advance organizational and research skills

- Strong team player abilities
