. \! ^/ k% o$ x" y. M: W. V0 qFAVA is currently looking for a Film, Video & Media Arts Assistant to join the FAVA team for 12 weeks in the summer of 2009. FAVA is a non-profit, charitable organization

artists from Northern Alberta.

FAVA serves members with diverse backgrounds and levels of experience, ranging from - d) s* X) H$ B) u% c& b* Y" E
emerging, mid-range to established artists with an unwavering passion for film, video
5 T5 X6 k" l9 x) F; Yand media art. FAVA offers: a variety of workshops for artistic and skill development; is a 3 q# F4 w7 t" b; {; b. d- h
resource for production equipment and post-production facilities; hosts events and 2 A! p/ g5 c1 Q1 K
screenings; and fosters and develops a dynamic media arts community in Northern $ n; [% I6 P) Y% U3 f. ]9 x

Job Description: The Film, Video & Media Arts Assistant will report to the Executive , C: J8 V4 j* P+ @: c, C
Director and work with the Production Coordinator and Maintenance Coordinator by ' j: w. z0 b2 u4 u! M8 G- X
assisting in the day-to-day operations of the Production Department. " P: l% h+ I# }6 N1 E: I) J
$ n' h% i0 ^9 [Duties: + A5 e; i$ K3 o
- Assist with research on acquisition grants 2 [$ K) c% A8 ?
- Assist with production and post-production gear and facilities
* S4 @2 [; E0 p/ h! t2 Q- Assist with equipment maintenance
% |# @' p& E3 f' r* }- Assist with production logistics for programming events 4 O# j3 O7 _: b2 b) N
- Assist with communication with members and interoffice staff
% v% \0 r. X( e8 j5 O6 f4 X- Enforce FAVA’s standard of use policies where applicable

- Wage is $15.00 per hour, 35 hours per week

- A passionate interest in film, video and media arts 4 M E2 q0 g/ K( X& _
- Advance skills in technical aspects of film and video equipment
7 ] e9 k$ z3 U5 {, B- Advance organizational and research skills
! p g; t H( Q) t) O3 W! h- Advance skills of current trends in technology i.e. HD ; X% `- z' b+ Y3 v0 i' `
- Strong team player abilities 0 M% }; T% ~% q7 o
- Interest in working for an arts organization that is governed by a Board of Directors
