( S2 A( x! l$ Q. k; |1 OFAVA is currently looking for a Film, Video & Media Arts Assistant to join the FAVA team for 12 weeks in the summer of 2009. FAVA is a non-profit, charitable organization
. t1 `& U& k' Ewhose mandate is to support the production and exhibition of film, video and media ( l7 D; n% W( K" h
artists from Northern Alberta. : O& L( g8 M/ [+ V( S% t

FAVA serves members with diverse backgrounds and levels of experience, ranging from ; ?; _- ]! W8 L
emerging, mid-range to established artists with an unwavering passion for film, video 8 g/ l* l( M& h& s5 A2 T" V! ~ P* ]$ \
and media art. FAVA offers: a variety of workshops for artistic and skill development; is a
2 @% K- k& g! m% G5 i7 P; Rresource for production equipment and post-production facilities; hosts events and
; p3 b' ^+ A5 ?2 S) zscreenings; and fosters and develops a dynamic media arts community in Northern ( l, q/ S1 r9 |

( F- U2 T+ O1 f" h& w' oJob Description: The Film, Video & Media Arts Assistant will report to the Executive - t) P* d9 p) C6 E1 h8 `* T; ]
Director and work with the Production Coordinator and Maintenance Coordinator by 3 z; F% z9 `6 }( P( k* O* @3 n
assisting in the day-to-day operations of the Production Department.

0 o6 G% T3 J) F$ k7 Y" l- Assist with research on acquisition grants ) [1 P' o8 ]# C0 J3 U+ c
- Assist with production and post-production gear and facilities - b( ]; \9 M" H5 ?
- Assist with equipment maintenance
( N- n9 p/ L2 Y3 {- Assist with production logistics for programming events $ h/ ]0 E- O* ~( E! G% z
- Assist with communication with members and interoffice staff
% o( U7 G6 E% ?- Enforce FAVA’s standard of use policies where applicable

Qualifications: The ideal candidate will have:
9 X2 c: z' Y7 |; `- A passionate interest in film, video and media arts 3 ~) |. k1 D6 ~- g
- Advance skills in technical aspects of film and video equipment 6 c' v! F1 B4 S0 j* i) D
- Advance organizational and research skills
) G4 f* s0 |, s; A/ v' ?& a" ~- Advance skills of current trends in technology i.e. HD ! m5 e0 s3 U( R; d7 X8 I
- Strong team player abilities
/ k% U. ?4 c% {! | \9 g- Interest in working for an arts organization that is governed by a Board of Directors
