FAVA is currently looking for a Film, Video & Media Arts Assistant to join the FAVA team for 12 weeks in the summer of 2009. FAVA is a non-profit, charitable organization 7 c6 c* k& t7 ~+ \7 Q
whose mandate is to support the production and exhibition of film, video and media
& R2 {# ^( A1 |7 _/ _5 K% H0 c2 cartists from Northern Alberta.

FAVA serves members with diverse backgrounds and levels of experience, ranging from
$ b2 _% J4 L( N- temerging, mid-range to established artists with an unwavering passion for film, video
9 X F% k# R4 e9 L( M: Oand media art. FAVA offers: a variety of workshops for artistic and skill development; is a 0 s% a. W- s) D& o& R& V$ ?0 L6 u
resource for production equipment and post-production facilities; hosts events and / c$ |; E( v% @0 U X1 v
screenings; and fosters and develops a dynamic media arts community in Northern

Job Description: The Film, Video & Media Arts Assistant will report to the Executive . o! ?2 ]. q& K4 g$ o+ I
Director and work with the Production Coordinator and Maintenance Coordinator by
8 r! h! J( N; P4 r( B# c3 Massisting in the day-to-day operations of the Production Department. ) i* ~4 w: X3 |8 f. m/ x
; S7 q: Y0 J/ B1 W" d- I5 ADuties: 8 T& o" S& p+ p3 L
- Assist with research on acquisition grants
% l1 k8 }$ x+ _' w, K, {' o- Assist with production and post-production gear and facilities
% D* \; u5 W9 ^) J, `6 u) _5 G- Assist with equipment maintenance
( ~+ O0 `% R! _1 f4 i- Assist with production logistics for programming events
5 n' r* ^" o! y" r7 V- Assist with communication with members and interoffice staff 1 |( I3 @; U+ V! q$ w w5 }
- Enforce FAVA’s standard of use policies where applicable 2 e. z2 k& s5 y, H4 T
- Provide vacation relief

- Advance skills of current trends in technology i.e. HD
