( m, U$ f* D! c9 xFAVA is currently looking for a Film, Video & Media Arts Assistant to join the FAVA team for 12 weeks in the summer of 2009. FAVA is a non-profit, charitable organization

FAVA serves members with diverse backgrounds and levels of experience, ranging from
7 W1 B3 y: M5 q' temerging, mid-range to established artists with an unwavering passion for film, video - u$ v! z) l8 V( |3 C
and media art. FAVA offers: a variety of workshops for artistic and skill development; is a 8 i c4 ~* P9 ^
resource for production equipment and post-production facilities; hosts events and
0 h$ S& m0 t- p2 t5 {* N$ L$ xscreenings; and fosters and develops a dynamic media arts community in Northern 6 Z2 ~ K6 D( b+ }1 _6 u* G" x

Job Description: The Film, Video & Media Arts Assistant will report to the Executive
/ x0 d3 b9 i1 }; }" dDirector and work with the Production Coordinator and Maintenance Coordinator by : O3 c, m F5 @. y
assisting in the day-to-day operations of the Production Department.

Duties:
* u" K7 k0 _+ l9 _1 J6 ?( _- Assist with research on acquisition grants
; `8 f7 C6 ~& W* M, Y+ C- Assist with production and post-production gear and facilities 2 `9 x3 W3 t7 E9 Y, Q; Q5 A
- Assist with equipment maintenance
' j) c7 j1 `( n0 O- Assist with production logistics for programming events ( I3 \4 o3 b4 y' [$ g
- Assist with communication with members and interoffice staff * H3 H/ e: u/ e) c( u8 t( \1 k3 q8 d
- Enforce FAVA’s standard of use policies where applicable

- Wage is $15.00 per hour, 35 hours per week

Qualifications: The ideal candidate will have: # f% t; P# e4 q" Q8 R1 }" Y
- A passionate interest in film, video and media arts , Y; V, A& v) S# q r4 q
- Advance skills in technical aspects of film and video equipment
% P8 ?6 e9 \9 v5 ?$ Y- Advance organizational and research skills + ?- f) U' C$ r& N0 x" E2 H
- Advance skills of current trends in technology i.e. HD
