FAVA is currently looking for a Film, Video & Media Arts Assistant to join the FAVA team for 12 weeks in the summer of 2009. FAVA is a non-profit, charitable organization
$ ~7 s7 Y( Y0 m0 }8 S( e, y. Twhose mandate is to support the production and exhibition of film, video and media
artists from Northern Alberta.

' i; ^5 I( f( }2 N, z* B$ a5 OFAVA serves members with diverse backgrounds and levels of experience, ranging from
, `; \  n( H8 I9 e# eemerging, mid-range to established artists with an unwavering passion for film, video
and media art. FAVA offers: a variety of workshops for artistic and skill development; is a
) O# ^8 _1 u  l5 vresource for production equipment and post-production facilities; hosts events and
screenings; and fosters and develops a dynamic media arts community in Northern
Alberta.

* ~: G) z" X3 U9 v! U* }! KJob Description: The Film, Video & Media Arts Assistant will report to the Executive
1 [' v! l2 q3 G, p2 L/ W$ zDirector and work with the Production Coordinator and Maintenance Coordinator by
3 Q$ z! A. l9 g* y, vassisting in the day-to-day operations of the Production Department.

( Y+ L1 Q. y, Y6 uDuties:
* M' f3 M% v/ X% I- Assist with research on acquisition grants
- Assist with production and post-production gear and facilities
$ m0 K7 v& Y/ L- Assist with equipment maintenance
- Assist with production logistics for programming events
- Assist with communication with members and interoffice staff
; t$ L3 }7 r- K4 @/ u9 g" k, b- Enforce FAVA’s standard of use policies where applicable
# D5 L( o4 u9 j. E% ]! \- Provide vacation relief

secondary training
- Wage is $15.00 per hour, 35 hours per week

( `. h. ^2 T9 r' `" I. a4 AQualifications: The ideal candidate will have:
- A passionate interest in film, video and media arts
9 k" I, z' o) ?2 F7 Q6 [- Advance skills in technical aspects of film and video equipment
- Advance organizational and research skills
- Advance skills of current trends in technology i.e. HD
7 k8 ]0 y3 q, C2 z( s- Strong team player abilities
- Interest in working for an arts organization that is governed by a Board of Directors
