emerging, mid-range to established artists with an unwavering passion for film, video
) t$ U1 i' p( b" c2 S' jand media art. FAVA offers: a variety of workshops for artistic and skill development; is a
' U& r) W& V2 g' C# a4 ?$ Rresource for production equipment and post-production facilities; hosts events and 6 m! m, |2 }8 d# m! y
screenings; and fosters and develops a dynamic media arts community in Northern - ?7 l3 i- e1 X# ] k9 T9 o7 r

Job Description: The Film, Video & Media Arts Assistant will report to the Executive . o, Z3 P2 z0 t/ D" Z7 o1 o
Director and work with the Production Coordinator and Maintenance Coordinator by 1 A7 F9 V9 d. ]
assisting in the day-to-day operations of the Production Department.
& j9 K1 [9 h" ^( K, s5 O* [, s / [: V$ h* l4 u
Duties: * U1 e" d6 H. p& P9 a4 E* u
- Assist with research on acquisition grants w2 p+ ~ ?2 a1 x9 ~1 b
- Assist with production and post-production gear and facilities
, v4 I* H% R1 o) Q5 |- Assist with equipment maintenance
( @1 o. h$ ]; S- Assist with production logistics for programming events 8 ?, V# n1 A# C' i4 ^: R
- Assist with communication with members and interoffice staff
# w) a D% W( e- Enforce FAVA’s standard of use policies where applicable

- Applicants must be unemployed and attending (or have recently completed) a post-+ |! o+ d# z8 c& X. t& Z/ H
secondary training ; \' M; B! o/ F( }
- Wage is $15.00 per hour, 35 hours per week

Qualifications: The ideal candidate will have: f: b" S2 ?( _$ ` A
- A passionate interest in film, video and media arts
+ ?1 i3 q5 C N) }3 @* ^; v& |/ V- Advance skills in technical aspects of film and video equipment
5 C! f: t5 v/ H& K, B1 L; G- Advance organizational and research skills 7 x( A$ ]* ?; g& L6 P* d
- Advance skills of current trends in technology i.e. HD ( Y, y$ _ w9 p: g# `
- Strong team player abilities
