FAVA is currently looking for a Film, Video & Media Arts Assistant to join the FAVA team for 12 weeks in the summer of 2009. FAVA is a non-profit, charitable organization
& a" r9 ~0 C, R4 ~% @2 D% N0 `( N+ jwhose mandate is to support the production and exhibition of film, video and media
: {* r: X: n4 R& M/ Q8 k% aartists from Northern Alberta.

FAVA serves members with diverse backgrounds and levels of experience, ranging from
: v9 P9 v: s; R4 `6 lemerging, mid-range to established artists with an unwavering passion for film, video 9 x; B+ F( ^9 K7 F
and media art. FAVA offers: a variety of workshops for artistic and skill development; is a
2 Q! m3 g2 A+ ]. T" Aresource for production equipment and post-production facilities; hosts events and + O c+ W9 h) ^# Y4 U
screenings; and fosters and develops a dynamic media arts community in Northern & g7 Y: z! \* B9 U/ W/ E! C

Job Description: The Film, Video & Media Arts Assistant will report to the Executive
2 v0 \# _' _4 a5 tDirector and work with the Production Coordinator and Maintenance Coordinator by 3 a0 h5 {9 H/ i: ~* H
assisting in the day-to-day operations of the Production Department. 5 N9 L5 G- Q9 v" w* t

Duties: / f* I9 E- V9 y
- Assist with research on acquisition grants
0 ?" Z* h' C6 q, r% @- Assist with production and post-production gear and facilities 8 u* {( c2 E* n7 ^
- Assist with equipment maintenance ' h! S6 l/ \7 r( V
- Assist with production logistics for programming events 5 E' ~' T8 @( k8 g
- Assist with communication with members and interoffice staff
; z7 ?/ b( { d2 N7 z9 G* i- Enforce FAVA’s standard of use policies where applicable 6 T N* P8 v( T
- Provide vacation relief 8 k/ b/ I$ |. M

- Applicants must be unemployed and attending (or have recently completed) a post-, N W3 U8 o" z# h3 ] _
secondary training
; X0 N. {3 \+ ~& E- Wage is $15.00 per hour, 35 hours per week

- Advance skills in technical aspects of film and video equipment

- Advance skills of current trends in technology i.e. HD

1 G7 x" z5 t: a! n+ F% f& c/ S- Interest in working for an arts organization that is governed by a Board of Directors
