FAVA is currently looking for a Film, Video & Media Arts Assistant to join the FAVA team for 12 weeks in the summer of 2009. FAVA is a non-profit, charitable organization

FAVA serves members with diverse backgrounds and levels of experience, ranging from 4 y0 m/ J5 o, H0 K6 b; R$ }1 D
emerging, mid-range to established artists with an unwavering passion for film, video & H: x, I; v2 J
and media art. FAVA offers: a variety of workshops for artistic and skill development; is a
( ~1 {5 s# t! Z" k: [! {resource for production equipment and post-production facilities; hosts events and
3 p% U B& e, s/ u: e T7 W9 nscreenings; and fosters and develops a dynamic media arts community in Northern 6 L: W6 q3 S$ L3 a! O. X

( O0 C0 R$ d* g: _1 X; H9 hJob Description: The Film, Video & Media Arts Assistant will report to the Executive 4 f* S0 Z& w+ @+ Y6 j6 H& p. K) @
Director and work with the Production Coordinator and Maintenance Coordinator by
" s2 M7 S4 a1 D5 R8 ~assisting in the day-to-day operations of the Production Department.

- Assist with research on acquisition grants " L3 P7 J6 o7 o, z8 U; v
- Assist with production and post-production gear and facilities
* Z& @% I. E6 i/ `4 G& {+ {- Assist with equipment maintenance
6 _' [5 }0 p- W, o* m. M- Assist with production logistics for programming events
# s# k/ S2 L8 w& {. P- Assist with communication with members and interoffice staff ! q6 x2 ^7 Q" A1 d: ]
- Enforce FAVA’s standard of use policies where applicable 6 R. i& G) B7 b2 h/ S2 p
- Provide vacation relief

- Wage is $15.00 per hour, 35 hours per week

Qualifications: The ideal candidate will have:

- Advance skills in technical aspects of film and video equipment Z- s" S g) S
- Advance organizational and research skills
& R4 Z1 t3 ]9 v; U- Advance skills of current trends in technology i.e. HD
5 y' m- F0 `8 i% _$ ]. M- Strong team player abilities W& B0 F3 W) `8 y
- Interest in working for an arts organization that is governed by a Board of Directors
