FAVA is currently looking for a Film, Video & Media Arts Assistant to join the FAVA team for 12 weeks in the summer of 2009. FAVA is a non-profit, charitable organization
9 V2 W+ Q, `9 K" zwhose mandate is to support the production and exhibition of film, video and media
artists from Northern Alberta.

- P% Y. {: E; n; ZFAVA serves members with diverse backgrounds and levels of experience, ranging from
emerging, mid-range to established artists with an unwavering passion for film, video
and media art. FAVA offers: a variety of workshops for artistic and skill development; is a
resource for production equipment and post-production facilities; hosts events and
1 _; p9 x: C9 e  cscreenings; and fosters and develops a dynamic media arts community in Northern
6 F6 ?' e' V8 o9 K) _Alberta.

Job Description: The Film, Video & Media Arts Assistant will report to the Executive
Director and work with the Production Coordinator and Maintenance Coordinator by
assisting in the day-to-day operations of the Production Department.

Duties:
' K/ \4 c. c: i$ P+ @7 V- Assist with research on acquisition grants
- Assist with production and post-production gear and facilities
- Assist with equipment maintenance
- Assist with production logistics for programming events
! D3 ^; K/ m! f- Assist with communication with members and interoffice staff
# K$ K5 _  @  k- Enforce FAVA’s standard of use policies where applicable
: ^% g& g( z3 C% L- a4 `- Provide vacation relief

Qualifications: The ideal candidate will have:
- A passionate interest in film, video and media arts
3 K% h* P! R: q! w! C  n3 Z+ r# S- Advance skills in technical aspects of film and video equipment
- Advance organizational and research skills
$ g/ |( f: [. m4 g8 K- Advance skills of current trends in technology i.e. HD
0 s- E) _" K# ]8 U- i- Strong team player abilities
2 V/ L/ \$ Z; @+ p8 ^- Interest in working for an arts organization that is governed by a Board of Directors
