FAVA is currently looking for a Film, Video & Media Arts Assistant to join the FAVA team for 12 weeks in the summer of 2009. FAVA is a non-profit, charitable organization
# ?" ?% k/ ?$ ^whose mandate is to support the production and exhibition of film, video and media * O9 O, B. \: N! ^6 e
artists from Northern Alberta.

and media art. FAVA offers: a variety of workshops for artistic and skill development; is a : h; M& p) l! {, X0 u' O; C6 u. s
resource for production equipment and post-production facilities; hosts events and

! M# h6 t; K9 T9 a" \Job Description: The Film, Video & Media Arts Assistant will report to the Executive
% M: i) p8 ^( o( A9 A# ?Director and work with the Production Coordinator and Maintenance Coordinator by 5 d ~% t) `7 R+ h6 M
assisting in the day-to-day operations of the Production Department.

& i2 H l4 |# Z* E$ `Duties: * U3 t0 s# J; [( N Q
- Assist with research on acquisition grants
# t' C) x! Y5 E# g! c: F# j3 M- Assist with production and post-production gear and facilities # y9 J& v N; V4 @7 |$ z) X
- Assist with equipment maintenance + m$ z4 ~8 V, Y. O& x/ F: H
- Assist with production logistics for programming events / k& _% p3 [; [' l, v# H
- Assist with communication with members and interoffice staff 1 \$ b$ `" |0 b/ Z7 [
- Enforce FAVA’s standard of use policies where applicable ! ^ w4 s. C9 g6 Q& N* Q
- Provide vacation relief - p G+ ^: k5 i% Z& c
& H( ~9 ]+ ^4 c( o' Y! f) l

- Applicants must be unemployed and attending (or have recently completed) a post-: R8 S/ Y% b; p) [$ \8 a+ }0 x6 j
secondary training

- A passionate interest in film, video and media arts

- Advance organizational and research skills " n- S4 y; v' j
- Advance skills of current trends in technology i.e. HD - J4 V0 K1 O9 J! ~& V
- Strong team player abilities % {% a2 @0 t$ c9 {
- Interest in working for an arts organization that is governed by a Board of Directors
