; ` M2 i" t" M8 |/ _FAVA serves members with diverse backgrounds and levels of experience, ranging from
: R7 e S/ N# j: r$ Zemerging, mid-range to established artists with an unwavering passion for film, video
# Y2 H! h/ A7 X& _0 P; H4 {9 U( Aand media art. FAVA offers: a variety of workshops for artistic and skill development; is a 1 E; l* H4 v' D3 _* a1 M- X
resource for production equipment and post-production facilities; hosts events and 6 m* T* J$ t5 W8 U* R+ d6 j. K
screenings; and fosters and develops a dynamic media arts community in Northern 0 j2 j+ Z6 F. g- R* d

4 h0 F' p! f" Z- i" z$ sJob Description: The Film, Video & Media Arts Assistant will report to the Executive 5 _( \9 t! J2 b1 E+ U# E
Director and work with the Production Coordinator and Maintenance Coordinator by
1 \2 n; w' u6 M8 R2 oassisting in the day-to-day operations of the Production Department. 5 H' ~: a" b% |* P9 C0 X
+ i+ Y2 O) k# \9 @' U. mDuties:
: M) _7 H, x- I! {2 q- C- Assist with research on acquisition grants
; O2 `- d5 R- d6 D3 H- Assist with production and post-production gear and facilities
) |1 V. {5 w+ f2 \- Assist with equipment maintenance & ]9 R4 O. H7 P# Y9 `
- Assist with production logistics for programming events
/ ^! z# z7 Q* `, p- Assist with communication with members and interoffice staff
+ U6 A) E- U! W* h9 T- Enforce FAVA’s standard of use policies where applicable
- V8 Q" o7 Q2 W B! }- Provide vacation relief

- Advance skills in technical aspects of film and video equipment * X- l. P( q8 E: @! y
- Advance organizational and research skills 0 ^3 z7 L" l; I$ e
- Advance skills of current trends in technology i.e. HD
