- T( ~# V2 m u! \9 l5 pFAVA is currently looking for a Film, Video & Media Arts Assistant to join the FAVA team for 12 weeks in the summer of 2009. FAVA is a non-profit, charitable organization

FAVA serves members with diverse backgrounds and levels of experience, ranging from
+ K: d: _9 f1 g! X; I+ w+ E \( eemerging, mid-range to established artists with an unwavering passion for film, video
& ?( }, ~* g5 @; q# Jand media art. FAVA offers: a variety of workshops for artistic and skill development; is a
: M4 r3 c8 z4 ^: b3 G9 J6 eresource for production equipment and post-production facilities; hosts events and
" v3 U5 d' ^. a" e6 Ascreenings; and fosters and develops a dynamic media arts community in Northern $ ]7 l7 ~% X" q5 M# q

Job Description: The Film, Video & Media Arts Assistant will report to the Executive ; q: l- Z( U( [# \5 Q
Director and work with the Production Coordinator and Maintenance Coordinator by . ?+ c! l4 ?* r# y3 j* m
assisting in the day-to-day operations of the Production Department. : w8 u- _0 O2 B
+ u$ I' E$ ]" Q! A/ rDuties: & G5 C& H7 A9 F# `. J. O
- Assist with research on acquisition grants 6 W/ }/ u, ]! w$ l
- Assist with production and post-production gear and facilities & Z$ N5 d. I/ K) F L8 [
- Assist with equipment maintenance + e1 Q" f: Q, J
- Assist with production logistics for programming events # [' n0 N! A. `: \6 s1 m. ^7 u
- Assist with communication with members and interoffice staff
7 K3 S, p1 U# h2 M3 N: b# [- Enforce FAVA’s standard of use policies where applicable
3 o9 d( F! i) W+ D/ [9 J: S- Provide vacation relief

- Applicants must be unemployed and attending (or have recently completed) a post-5 w0 ^6 e9 s0 O
secondary training
7 E: V1 U' c( j- Wage is $15.00 per hour, 35 hours per week

Qualifications: The ideal candidate will have: . _) E. U# j" T6 \0 ~* n$ r
- A passionate interest in film, video and media arts
x, ]7 S+ d, _! e+ O- Advance skills in technical aspects of film and video equipment
9 u, y/ `# Y! X4 \1 L' p$ b- Advance organizational and research skills J7 R3 ]0 `3 z9 l5 i$ b
- Advance skills of current trends in technology i.e. HD
& n: Z) N" \* p7 f& p8 L- Strong team player abilities 0 |/ X& O) W, u/ u7 O( V2 r
- Interest in working for an arts organization that is governed by a Board of Directors
