FAVA is currently looking for a Film, Video & Media Arts Assistant to join the FAVA team for 12 weeks in the summer of 2009. FAVA is a non-profit, charitable organization
3 y# M H* j1 ~2 g) v! u+ T) wwhose mandate is to support the production and exhibition of film, video and media
5 C' f( y' u( [artists from Northern Alberta.

FAVA serves members with diverse backgrounds and levels of experience, ranging from 5 X- k, a% s0 u2 b6 k1 ^
emerging, mid-range to established artists with an unwavering passion for film, video 7 w6 p* h# M7 S+ d
and media art. FAVA offers: a variety of workshops for artistic and skill development; is a
7 w: Z+ ?+ e& N: s- h) z1 _8 w& `resource for production equipment and post-production facilities; hosts events and
- C" d# u& a& S5 C7 wscreenings; and fosters and develops a dynamic media arts community in Northern

8 o" c. f$ S* O+ z# h2 nJob Description: The Film, Video & Media Arts Assistant will report to the Executive ! R9 Q. Z M' V. Z$ H5 @
Director and work with the Production Coordinator and Maintenance Coordinator by 4 D9 `: E* D+ l* W
assisting in the day-to-day operations of the Production Department. 7 R( \. p, v+ G9 E
8 ~% B; K2 y" U/ j5 SDuties:
& @7 q7 G' b% x5 t+ P' ?- Assist with research on acquisition grants 4 _' n* N. l5 m3 e* L4 c/ W
- Assist with production and post-production gear and facilities
8 W ?- w! ~ o) R+ C5 C3 t- Assist with equipment maintenance
3 V7 ^* v6 Y5 L; J+ K- Assist with production logistics for programming events 3 J" N* G @( n6 J- o% i" R# S
- Assist with communication with members and interoffice staff
+ [9 u# m% g" X4 e `$ c7 ~% E- Enforce FAVA’s standard of use policies where applicable 6 t9 v% v% X% u4 P
- Provide vacation relief ; t' N$ k* m- {/ W% ~! E( [( m) \9 o

- A passionate interest in film, video and media arts 0 I9 h. x" u* J' S

- Advance skills of current trends in technology i.e. HD
