2 [% ?! G7 ?, ~- JFAVA serves members with diverse backgrounds and levels of experience, ranging from
emerging, mid-range to established artists with an unwavering passion for film, video
6 i& ]+ p5 y+ l! D# pand media art. FAVA offers: a variety of workshops for artistic and skill development; is a
resource for production equipment and post-production facilities; hosts events and
screenings; and fosters and develops a dynamic media arts community in Northern
4 m4 P9 q+ K& ^# w  S" dAlberta.

& o5 f* M) y3 lJob Description: The Film, Video & Media Arts Assistant will report to the Executive
Director and work with the Production Coordinator and Maintenance Coordinator by
2 V  |- `3 a6 ?assisting in the day-to-day operations of the Production Department.

Duties:
- Assist with research on acquisition grants
- Assist with production and post-production gear and facilities
- Assist with equipment maintenance
/ D9 q& j, T6 p* p# {3 }; R- Assist with production logistics for programming events
- Assist with communication with members and interoffice staff
8 n! P+ L+ B$ x: d. q) q4 i1 U( q: e- Enforce FAVA’s standard of use policies where applicable
- Provide vacation relief

Details:

+ M9 n5 d# d* `) T- Applicants must be unemployed and attending (or have recently completed) a post-
secondary training
5 r5 P0 E, U+ ^- E' J9 d$ A9 `- Wage is $15.00 per hour, 35 hours per week
6 a* ~+ |% ?+ D. h- Length of position: 12 consecutive weeks

0 t+ E1 D5 @4 z8 w; \% g' zQualifications: The ideal candidate will have:
5 \0 f1 c" `2 u/ Y" {! D- A passionate interest in film, video and media arts
* ^# e6 N  \: O% l4 n8 p0 `- Advance skills in technical aspects of film and video equipment
- Advance organizational and research skills
# o+ E/ |& A9 B- Advance skills of current trends in technology i.e. HD
- V$ `5 G7 C1 }- Strong team player abilities
- Interest in working for an arts organization that is governed by a Board of Directors
