" y. {$ q2 z7 Y3 E1 v8 xFAVA is currently looking for a Film, Video & Media Arts Assistant to join the FAVA team for 12 weeks in the summer of 2009. FAVA is a non-profit, charitable organization
whose mandate is to support the production and exhibition of film, video and media
artists from Northern Alberta.

$ @7 ]1 \3 V( i1 r) I3 v8 VFAVA serves members with diverse backgrounds and levels of experience, ranging from
emerging, mid-range to established artists with an unwavering passion for film, video
4 h% f: f- s- u9 Eand media art. FAVA offers: a variety of workshops for artistic and skill development; is a
- j3 f+ o1 c) lresource for production equipment and post-production facilities; hosts events and
screenings; and fosters and develops a dynamic media arts community in Northern
Alberta.

Job Description: The Film, Video & Media Arts Assistant will report to the Executive
Director and work with the Production Coordinator and Maintenance Coordinator by
assisting in the day-to-day operations of the Production Department.

Duties:
- Assist with research on acquisition grants
, `" r; b/ Z4 g) G% `# M+ W3 E- Assist with production and post-production gear and facilities
- Assist with equipment maintenance
) x- V2 O) i, M5 n8 T4 X- Assist with production logistics for programming events
- Assist with communication with members and interoffice staff
- Enforce FAVA’s standard of use policies where applicable

- Applicants must be unemployed and attending (or have recently completed) a post-
4 R! H. m6 H( I: M) F: ?9 r. M/ E+ U. ^' ?secondary training
- Wage is $15.00 per hour, 35 hours per week

Qualifications: The ideal candidate will have:
, j8 P2 V' e, r- A passionate interest in film, video and media arts
" I+ ^" V3 _9 ^% }- Advance skills in technical aspects of film and video equipment
. z1 I' Z: \1 W* u; C- Advance organizational and research skills
7 g: p5 s. u# i# _, V- Advance skills of current trends in technology i.e. HD
- Strong team player abilities
- Interest in working for an arts organization that is governed by a Board of Directors
