3 n1 R% _0 q( D; b0 DFAVA is currently looking for a Film, Video & Media Arts Assistant to join the FAVA team for 12 weeks in the summer of 2009. FAVA is a non-profit, charitable organization
+ ~2 ~, [5 C9 Y' V( E7 zwhose mandate is to support the production and exhibition of film, video and media

8 W7 c' N/ C% b& xFAVA serves members with diverse backgrounds and levels of experience, ranging from ( r4 i' @8 e0 U( C
emerging, mid-range to established artists with an unwavering passion for film, video
& C% f+ i, V/ \- ~8 Land media art. FAVA offers: a variety of workshops for artistic and skill development; is a
H5 }# a5 M+ W9 _3 Z, dresource for production equipment and post-production facilities; hosts events and ! k) E! U) R+ D' m0 ^3 q; E
screenings; and fosters and develops a dynamic media arts community in Northern 5 ?6 A; l4 \/ j
Alberta.

Job Description: The Film, Video & Media Arts Assistant will report to the Executive ' R& {- k3 M5 e2 l# [! ?3 x
Director and work with the Production Coordinator and Maintenance Coordinator by 1 e6 _2 Z0 e& }8 n; j7 I6 D7 G$ G
assisting in the day-to-day operations of the Production Department.
+ N9 o& H- @* [5 p! n; I9 _
5 k, ?3 \3 x, H, O( o. g# g( QDuties: 3 l6 K s0 I0 _. o* E$ }3 E
- Assist with research on acquisition grants
( E0 I3 G: y9 E2 o2 R8 D0 z- Assist with production and post-production gear and facilities * W. i" k( R: l2 M8 ^2 o; ?# t
- Assist with equipment maintenance - d+ G/ t+ M& w; X* B; z! A" X" f
- Assist with production logistics for programming events + g5 Q7 S! [# C6 s
- Assist with communication with members and interoffice staff
. t7 ^; c/ e- F( `$ G- Enforce FAVA’s standard of use policies where applicable

- A passionate interest in film, video and media arts " f3 N# R' {8 W$ d, F+ w: f
- Advance skills in technical aspects of film and video equipment

- Advance skills of current trends in technology i.e. HD & W! I5 {0 q* y
- Strong team player abilities 7 {& ~ b. ?( g6 F( ^) X
- Interest in working for an arts organization that is governed by a Board of Directors ) R6 L( Z* ^0 Z4 b8 e# R
