artists from Northern Alberta.

FAVA serves members with diverse backgrounds and levels of experience, ranging from $ i: N% @( G' |9 {% E @7 m/ a
emerging, mid-range to established artists with an unwavering passion for film, video
% _4 o% C9 {$ H5 g+ x' Sand media art. FAVA offers: a variety of workshops for artistic and skill development; is a : [) Z* g, b' A
resource for production equipment and post-production facilities; hosts events and

Job Description: The Film, Video & Media Arts Assistant will report to the Executive
2 g4 e2 J$ `. P0 e5 c0 l6 ?& HDirector and work with the Production Coordinator and Maintenance Coordinator by 8 I w# s" z$ o a' n3 X- k
assisting in the day-to-day operations of the Production Department. ( J; U4 x/ k9 ^$ ^) }/ |4 h n
: K6 E3 g! U: T& F/ b# x1 j7 R' lDuties:
) T" m6 o, H# I- Assist with research on acquisition grants
8 d5 B0 ]6 m1 _/ L5 m- v6 @" ?- Assist with production and post-production gear and facilities
* v) a7 O* A$ c+ M0 A- Assist with equipment maintenance
0 \: x0 F5 m6 e- Assist with production logistics for programming events
" ?/ {! a$ P3 c2 i, t" h- u$ y- Assist with communication with members and interoffice staff
0 e- d" M' C4 q' p8 c' a- Enforce FAVA’s standard of use policies where applicable

- Wage is $15.00 per hour, 35 hours per week 0 S( q$ r+ C1 q
- Length of position: 12 consecutive weeks . T& j+ Q9 l5 N

Qualifications: The ideal candidate will have:

- Advance skills in technical aspects of film and video equipment
* \, g2 L( e0 M% b8 i9 M0 P# _- Advance organizational and research skills
8 j- q+ X1 |0 p, a+ q# s5 I0 \5 j- Advance skills of current trends in technology i.e. HD
, w4 t* r: s: v* k: L- Strong team player abilities 3 ]4 G/ n" n/ R& r
- Interest in working for an arts organization that is governed by a Board of Directors
