) g6 W' v7 D N5 jFAVA is currently looking for a Film, Video & Media Arts Assistant to join the FAVA team for 12 weeks in the summer of 2009. FAVA is a non-profit, charitable organization
?( q' E" F0 ~4 y Twhose mandate is to support the production and exhibition of film, video and media
# N7 [7 y1 T% Uartists from Northern Alberta.

FAVA serves members with diverse backgrounds and levels of experience, ranging from
! ?7 D) g$ N0 F* |2 M" Vemerging, mid-range to established artists with an unwavering passion for film, video . g& h* y+ R; R( K! ?# c1 a
and media art. FAVA offers: a variety of workshops for artistic and skill development; is a
8 r: q C9 d: u0 fresource for production equipment and post-production facilities; hosts events and
: f) j" ^( N% Y/ W1 ?screenings; and fosters and develops a dynamic media arts community in Northern ) [7 M/ ]0 F0 t4 R
Alberta.

) b& ]0 I8 F$ ]Job Description: The Film, Video & Media Arts Assistant will report to the Executive " {" O7 W( d! l1 ?8 ~
Director and work with the Production Coordinator and Maintenance Coordinator by d" H9 f3 N; l7 b
assisting in the day-to-day operations of the Production Department. ( S+ N% O I( [6 }6 ^
3 N4 F% ]' h( @6 u: N+ a
Duties:
: V- [2 k7 _" e/ }& t( j$ g! J" E- Assist with research on acquisition grants
$ H. t q G l( v7 H- Assist with production and post-production gear and facilities
8 I+ l5 g j# X9 J9 R$ @: K- Assist with equipment maintenance
9 _ f0 _ w6 B5 b- Assist with production logistics for programming events 9 F5 R5 l' m# Q3 u
- Assist with communication with members and interoffice staff / m# C' j1 p3 {4 O/ g& ]1 v1 [
- Enforce FAVA’s standard of use policies where applicable

- Applicants must be unemployed and attending (or have recently completed) a post-

6 O# D; }3 i g. A6 v- Wage is $15.00 per hour, 35 hours per week

- Advance organizational and research skills
5 v5 X, }9 i/ W$ F( O& O, j- Advance skills of current trends in technology i.e. HD f/ F5 V g# y
- Strong team player abilities . s9 n0 c; F' M/ V" B# s7 ]; Q5 ?
- Interest in working for an arts organization that is governed by a Board of Directors . _9 [* ?" p; m k5 a" v
