FAVA is currently looking for a Film, Video & Media Arts Assistant to join the FAVA team for 12 weeks in the summer of 2009. FAVA is a non-profit, charitable organization
! k( s# d+ w! F+ Z4 l% j1 iwhose mandate is to support the production and exhibition of film, video and media 3 N5 T' O3 e. g+ c3 L# C
artists from Northern Alberta.

FAVA serves members with diverse backgrounds and levels of experience, ranging from * s# c' f4 Z) T( c4 |4 ]$ V
emerging, mid-range to established artists with an unwavering passion for film, video
" |6 ?$ z" e, i$ D& pand media art. FAVA offers: a variety of workshops for artistic and skill development; is a
0 E a$ m9 ^, B# F) K$ f* Tresource for production equipment and post-production facilities; hosts events and
- P# X' i* o( O8 Y) Xscreenings; and fosters and develops a dynamic media arts community in Northern # K. e- A+ _$ L+ v

2 q: X% n1 Q3 a8 |2 r5 v) K; oJob Description: The Film, Video & Media Arts Assistant will report to the Executive , \* e$ A3 z7 A8 z6 Q& b, ^9 ~. p
Director and work with the Production Coordinator and Maintenance Coordinator by : W5 t$ l. y6 i) ]
assisting in the day-to-day operations of the Production Department.
* }1 L- u( d$ q- x# o$ F 8 | E" s! F* c: m* ^, p
Duties:
# f8 K N1 S* {8 u: o- Assist with research on acquisition grants $ t) R6 Z! B# H: |/ u5 C
- Assist with production and post-production gear and facilities
* d, m. P" \/ u! c! a9 G& O2 K- Assist with equipment maintenance 0 {7 p4 W3 `1 t J- ]9 ]
- Assist with production logistics for programming events 6 M& h1 b# B3 M1 V
- Assist with communication with members and interoffice staff
* s- P0 g |+ r( W# T- Enforce FAVA’s standard of use policies where applicable 5 f5 x. e( l7 R2 s) N- U8 d* m
- Provide vacation relief 8 `: R+ O& V: H

- Wage is $15.00 per hour, 35 hours per week

- Advance skills in technical aspects of film and video equipment : x3 S, E: s, B6 n3 u) v
- Advance organizational and research skills 1 |$ C) ^3 U7 x! r9 Z
- Advance skills of current trends in technology i.e. HD
