FAVA is currently looking for a Film, Video & Media Arts Assistant to join the FAVA team for 12 weeks in the summer of 2009. FAVA is a non-profit, charitable organization
5 q3 {) ~& c# [$ b; rwhose mandate is to support the production and exhibition of film, video and media
4 @# S' N! K7 m3 {5 Eartists from Northern Alberta.

FAVA serves members with diverse backgrounds and levels of experience, ranging from 2 i+ w( y/ r1 e5 h" }& k5 [
emerging, mid-range to established artists with an unwavering passion for film, video
0 _: e* Q0 d1 mand media art. FAVA offers: a variety of workshops for artistic and skill development; is a
e! g$ E- k# b1 l5 S- f! t6 z4 [resource for production equipment and post-production facilities; hosts events and
. q( M6 K( @9 y* Pscreenings; and fosters and develops a dynamic media arts community in Northern

Job Description: The Film, Video & Media Arts Assistant will report to the Executive 1 t1 ~0 f; `# y$ K3 k! P- |5 w: a' A1 W
Director and work with the Production Coordinator and Maintenance Coordinator by 5 t2 N/ R' G- \& J0 k. e8 `
assisting in the day-to-day operations of the Production Department. 3 H' P* Y+ _! r
* Y+ j' | f0 F0 RDuties:
2 K8 E3 X+ U& C+ _" c- Assist with research on acquisition grants
/ c9 m/ e7 P; }- Assist with production and post-production gear and facilities
0 M1 ^. |3 L }& H" H- Assist with equipment maintenance 6 c. u7 v4 ^& g- |
- Assist with production logistics for programming events + p5 I" L3 l$ p [* E. U; d
- Assist with communication with members and interoffice staff
# e& S! a1 w) r% I2 ?! R8 A$ O- \- Enforce FAVA’s standard of use policies where applicable

- Wage is $15.00 per hour, 35 hours per week

Qualifications: The ideal candidate will have:
- C! \$ f' ^3 G, c0 o- A passionate interest in film, video and media arts
! S: g! e1 d: R; k# v- U- Advance skills in technical aspects of film and video equipment 3 T. t* K, u! {* ] m4 k6 ]
- Advance organizational and research skills ) O: H# ?. Y( x$ K
- Advance skills of current trends in technology i.e. HD & _1 c% m9 n( S8 E
- Strong team player abilities
