FAVA is currently looking for a Film, Video & Media Arts Assistant to join the FAVA team for 12 weeks in the summer of 2009. FAVA is a non-profit, charitable organization 9 Y3 a& P& t" E) D M
whose mandate is to support the production and exhibition of film, video and media
* f7 c/ X3 d* h1 Vartists from Northern Alberta.

FAVA serves members with diverse backgrounds and levels of experience, ranging from 5 \" M% n9 U2 h- P
emerging, mid-range to established artists with an unwavering passion for film, video
- w j* D; }% j' L. nand media art. FAVA offers: a variety of workshops for artistic and skill development; is a ' `# Z* c0 n6 G3 m, e) }
resource for production equipment and post-production facilities; hosts events and
0 T" `: q. y2 Jscreenings; and fosters and develops a dynamic media arts community in Northern ) E) g- V; B/ A& a7 \

Job Description: The Film, Video & Media Arts Assistant will report to the Executive 2 ^. V2 ~8 ?' z- z
Director and work with the Production Coordinator and Maintenance Coordinator by 9 A) ~1 x% M- ?, g7 z
assisting in the day-to-day operations of the Production Department. - \; i( f/ {# j) z2 |2 y
. L5 j% _# |5 H6 s: X
Duties:
1 ?9 t# z% C1 k4 B3 V- Assist with research on acquisition grants ; C! y, X9 [: }8 ^ w' Z
- Assist with production and post-production gear and facilities
/ B8 }" D4 z5 V( y: I1 @% \- Assist with equipment maintenance $ j: E0 h# v; |
- Assist with production logistics for programming events * ]) u: I" L( F& Z
- Assist with communication with members and interoffice staff
% s$ ^# w3 g$ _2 X! R) @2 W0 S- Enforce FAVA’s standard of use policies where applicable ) ?0 e+ A7 M$ x8 K p! w, b( a
- Provide vacation relief

- A passionate interest in film, video and media arts 3 R1 h5 p: r1 p" C9 u
- Advance skills in technical aspects of film and video equipment
