whose mandate is to support the production and exhibition of film, video and media

FAVA serves members with diverse backgrounds and levels of experience, ranging from
6 u6 s; M+ H, temerging, mid-range to established artists with an unwavering passion for film, video
2 b; b6 b. [- land media art. FAVA offers: a variety of workshops for artistic and skill development; is a : s9 p8 Q; k7 i8 e. V
resource for production equipment and post-production facilities; hosts events and 4 B9 X y4 @3 H: s$ K
screenings; and fosters and develops a dynamic media arts community in Northern

# H4 h$ O- N% F" ]8 HJob Description: The Film, Video & Media Arts Assistant will report to the Executive ! S) Q2 I2 D c3 ^. @$ e
Director and work with the Production Coordinator and Maintenance Coordinator by
! m, N" S0 b& D, M8 Yassisting in the day-to-day operations of the Production Department. # d" Q" @/ B) x5 ?. n

Duties:
8 o6 P5 S/ v; v- Assist with research on acquisition grants
& c4 ^. L! } Z. z5 j' R- Assist with production and post-production gear and facilities $ F# B- C5 `/ f. b
- Assist with equipment maintenance
) M9 G t9 ^/ l/ h2 P* H- Assist with production logistics for programming events & j L- V% D r w
- Assist with communication with members and interoffice staff
$ A( z; f8 j* {4 s% u3 |- Enforce FAVA’s standard of use policies where applicable

- Wage is $15.00 per hour, 35 hours per week 7 O' S/ [9 {1 x
- Length of position: 12 consecutive weeks

- A passionate interest in film, video and media arts
/ \6 _' L; j! M. Y4 z. N1 P- J- Advance skills in technical aspects of film and video equipment . [5 V: `2 Q( S2 K
- Advance organizational and research skills
. }/ t1 ?0 E) T% v/ S* F- Advance skills of current trends in technology i.e. HD
