( Z5 s6 T) h/ N6 E! g& gFAVA serves members with diverse backgrounds and levels of experience, ranging from

and media art. FAVA offers: a variety of workshops for artistic and skill development; is a # z) Z, ]! a2 ?
resource for production equipment and post-production facilities; hosts events and ) I6 @4 Y# ^1 k% R- t' B! ?
screenings; and fosters and develops a dynamic media arts community in Northern 2 e# D* d. P1 z4 O; F3 g
Alberta.

4 [+ U3 r3 Z1 u' W* T9 e6 n- F8 EJob Description: The Film, Video & Media Arts Assistant will report to the Executive : M) L* l7 }- |9 U4 f) A
Director and work with the Production Coordinator and Maintenance Coordinator by : }3 P4 z! M. D- {$ h
assisting in the day-to-day operations of the Production Department.

Duties: & o( m/ T8 u2 I% F
- Assist with research on acquisition grants * D6 s& ~( W- G2 k2 M
- Assist with production and post-production gear and facilities ! X/ l" }+ X0 m' a: E) D6 r- N3 O
- Assist with equipment maintenance
- j$ R2 M: |- W- Assist with production logistics for programming events
5 I+ f7 L) h# e. U- Assist with communication with members and interoffice staff
5 M8 h8 l& L7 F* f6 X' P8 t- Enforce FAVA’s standard of use policies where applicable 0 q& v! K- W7 P1 t0 E$ T

- Wage is $15.00 per hour, 35 hours per week ! t4 t! j7 Y, i: R
- Length of position: 12 consecutive weeks 2 e$ _6 @; w% B& N

- A8 c1 L8 V: \1 q- A passionate interest in film, video and media arts
2 a: l1 a( C7 z, t* _& v- R1 q5 R H7 ?- Advance skills in technical aspects of film and video equipment " F6 f3 f, F; p" Z+ i; e+ Q
- Advance organizational and research skills
+ S' b8 W+ w6 n- Advance skills of current trends in technology i.e. HD ; X: o. I, c1 Q1 D) m& R8 t
- Strong team player abilities + r( [/ t8 e6 R$ a. G& ^
- Interest in working for an arts organization that is governed by a Board of Directors
