whose mandate is to support the production and exhibition of film, video and media % i% I1 Q* A8 H7 i* j* B
artists from Northern Alberta. * s) C9 ^+ Q7 z" @
; d" K {4 g2 ]6 H3 g% j8 D! p5 yFAVA serves members with diverse backgrounds and levels of experience, ranging from ! o- u2 h- u% `7 d7 u5 q0 ]
emerging, mid-range to established artists with an unwavering passion for film, video & m4 s: b$ N* z) L
and media art. FAVA offers: a variety of workshops for artistic and skill development; is a
2 x4 C0 Y }4 I) b. s5 e+ {2 Presource for production equipment and post-production facilities; hosts events and - l2 T- _& {* D9 p3 K+ d% {* X
screenings; and fosters and develops a dynamic media arts community in Northern

8 ^4 Q4 X" r( }! XJob Description: The Film, Video & Media Arts Assistant will report to the Executive $ q0 a Q- f( Z4 k& G
Director and work with the Production Coordinator and Maintenance Coordinator by
+ c9 G# C5 u- `0 R& F5 Y. [assisting in the day-to-day operations of the Production Department. 5 q& a5 K% k! n

Duties:
3 b, p6 Z8 m) K' O: V, r- Assist with research on acquisition grants
$ z! ] P8 E* F4 R- M* _- Assist with production and post-production gear and facilities
/ k+ K9 z) K8 d2 q; [1 t- Assist with equipment maintenance . X' v5 y$ Q* G9 L' q
- Assist with production logistics for programming events
, _' Z2 O$ d. s1 }* r* z! g- Assist with communication with members and interoffice staff
* [+ t+ o1 @% v8 W3 {- Enforce FAVA’s standard of use policies where applicable # S/ ~8 S$ P6 G( o" N6 s+ ?

- Length of position: 12 consecutive weeks

- A passionate interest in film, video and media arts
' K; b: O' T* K: V% h! _9 D! e- Advance skills in technical aspects of film and video equipment 5 v8 m% F5 P: ^1 s& G( J
- Advance organizational and research skills 6 @5 D$ o5 l" G6 w! D
- Advance skills of current trends in technology i.e. HD
