FAVA is currently looking for a Film, Video & Media Arts Assistant to join the FAVA team for 12 weeks in the summer of 2009. FAVA is a non-profit, charitable organization
" p( K8 H. Q$ mwhose mandate is to support the production and exhibition of film, video and media : M$ B* y* g; U z
artists from Northern Alberta.

FAVA serves members with diverse backgrounds and levels of experience, ranging from 1 E; A$ u$ i, U# ?) |
emerging, mid-range to established artists with an unwavering passion for film, video
- U. r6 J, T0 L5 ?2 v1 b2 dand media art. FAVA offers: a variety of workshops for artistic and skill development; is a
) H2 W0 @, T0 ^+ C4 ^resource for production equipment and post-production facilities; hosts events and
4 x( K( t. A. C0 uscreenings; and fosters and develops a dynamic media arts community in Northern

; a& a5 }5 X; P% DDirector and work with the Production Coordinator and Maintenance Coordinator by
, ~- E! D4 Q+ Y4 u/ O0 d6 w7 y3 Passisting in the day-to-day operations of the Production Department.

/ j. u+ p; h1 {6 K4 f& ODuties:
/ N* g; {* Y/ |: S/ a1 S. C6 j1 Z+ D9 A- Assist with research on acquisition grants ) u, l4 k2 P J- U* M( M7 {7 S
- Assist with production and post-production gear and facilities % ]' ^* e& Z, U! o9 o4 o
- Assist with equipment maintenance & @$ O+ {$ q8 D" A2 e" m+ b5 e! g, ]
- Assist with production logistics for programming events
# N& b/ p! M7 D- Assist with communication with members and interoffice staff
# Q! o3 C2 {. x5 h- Enforce FAVA’s standard of use policies where applicable 5 E# d7 J/ G: v$ @/ H6 B1 H
- Provide vacation relief

Qualifications: The ideal candidate will have:
5 U1 |& p) z: X# ]* S! J7 f- A passionate interest in film, video and media arts
$ a( Z3 ~- c1 ~+ `% v1 d! ~- Advance skills in technical aspects of film and video equipment % j, A5 E: k5 A' K! ^& w
- Advance organizational and research skills 4 j e* n' {- b5 `9 S( J
- Advance skills of current trends in technology i.e. HD
3 a5 Z$ ^ I+ R' w' O$ T8 g& U: Z- Strong team player abilities ) ?3 N* Z* C1 f' h: ]4 C( I8 A6 T
