6 Y; E" ^' R( \0 [( ^FAVA is currently looking for a Film, Video & Media Arts Assistant to join the FAVA team for 12 weeks in the summer of 2009. FAVA is a non-profit, charitable organization - v, v: \6 D5 V
whose mandate is to support the production and exhibition of film, video and media $ |1 K3 {# |/ \ l" V
artists from Northern Alberta.

emerging, mid-range to established artists with an unwavering passion for film, video
3 p7 [2 j/ r- g, M3 Aand media art. FAVA offers: a variety of workshops for artistic and skill development; is a ; E* N5 J+ c( Y
resource for production equipment and post-production facilities; hosts events and & m8 f# d5 t& l+ Z, O# K. i
screenings; and fosters and develops a dynamic media arts community in Northern ' V! [' i2 h t* i( B4 I2 x

Job Description: The Film, Video & Media Arts Assistant will report to the Executive
3 w; [7 ?9 }7 r( \( S# s! X* R( jDirector and work with the Production Coordinator and Maintenance Coordinator by
. O2 V- \# I' Q7 P& a6 t' jassisting in the day-to-day operations of the Production Department.

Duties: : X# ]% N# F5 B i, }
- Assist with research on acquisition grants ' F5 ^4 f5 w# L3 y) ]
- Assist with production and post-production gear and facilities
; n1 u/ u& ]/ t8 i2 Q. T/ s$ J8 X& ?- Assist with equipment maintenance 0 D. J/ D' v6 T+ [ z, X
- Assist with production logistics for programming events / k, H1 X) t/ `* f ` d* `
- Assist with communication with members and interoffice staff

- Advance skills in technical aspects of film and video equipment
& H. `( P7 [: Z0 z' S0 i- Advance organizational and research skills
( C6 X- H, D" N( A8 ?' r6 _) \% g2 L- Advance skills of current trends in technology i.e. HD - S5 g$ ]: w, L; i) S4 ], J0 g
- Strong team player abilities / C" {9 k3 E9 J$ m6 U( s
- Interest in working for an arts organization that is governed by a Board of Directors
