FAVA is currently looking for a Film, Video & Media Arts Assistant to join the FAVA team for 12 weeks in the summer of 2009. FAVA is a non-profit, charitable organization
5 J- {8 g6 M; J; `# dwhose mandate is to support the production and exhibition of film, video and media
, j3 g3 ?/ ~% xartists from Northern Alberta. 8 _8 L8 G6 k/ Q3 D, Z$ z$ m
/ R+ ], O6 ]1 GFAVA serves members with diverse backgrounds and levels of experience, ranging from q& Y5 L% x# ]8 `
emerging, mid-range to established artists with an unwavering passion for film, video + i' b7 L( E1 Q
and media art. FAVA offers: a variety of workshops for artistic and skill development; is a % A% w( v9 H5 J; f ~
resource for production equipment and post-production facilities; hosts events and
9 w2 ?, J a% @8 @" p+ g: vscreenings; and fosters and develops a dynamic media arts community in Northern

6 n' D& `8 K3 p2 T/ RJob Description: The Film, Video & Media Arts Assistant will report to the Executive
9 e& |' D& {, J; L# ~3 v. `; t WDirector and work with the Production Coordinator and Maintenance Coordinator by
3 M, F; X% }3 Y! J5 b/ ~4 ~assisting in the day-to-day operations of the Production Department. $ y5 L3 |; I9 ?& P2 q& B
9 h4 r' w2 g: `Duties:
! X {& z- h! N2 I- Assist with research on acquisition grants ! }. X @5 h/ ]7 A1 T2 r
- Assist with production and post-production gear and facilities
9 f' l1 I2 |) J- Assist with equipment maintenance 8 L" m# f" x/ W. s8 d) n
- Assist with production logistics for programming events A% W' N: K2 U1 ?2 h' z p
- Assist with communication with members and interoffice staff 5 B M2 S" o+ @0 I8 ^
- Enforce FAVA’s standard of use policies where applicable
& u- [1 U) K" U) q- Provide vacation relief
