FAVA is currently looking for a Film, Video & Media Arts Assistant to join the FAVA team for 12 weeks in the summer of 2009. FAVA is a non-profit, charitable organization
6 _0 p0 ?6 V$ ^+ H0 N% {; lwhose mandate is to support the production and exhibition of film, video and media v% Z9 u. }: x0 J8 E! {; Z# R
artists from Northern Alberta.

7 B5 p h" K! Y- s8 vFAVA serves members with diverse backgrounds and levels of experience, ranging from
8 y: h m& b, G6 i# Femerging, mid-range to established artists with an unwavering passion for film, video
0 i4 K+ T1 k1 R1 Xand media art. FAVA offers: a variety of workshops for artistic and skill development; is a
+ M) `$ d7 R, f3 I/ b' b: Bresource for production equipment and post-production facilities; hosts events and
2 C, [$ j" o0 A7 @3 ?, escreenings; and fosters and develops a dynamic media arts community in Northern 2 s/ g, Q- N+ I" m1 y
Alberta.

/ L/ h. M' W$ E+ t3 rJob Description: The Film, Video & Media Arts Assistant will report to the Executive + l0 k6 u6 [ z1 G! J& G ~
Director and work with the Production Coordinator and Maintenance Coordinator by 5 [( @) c: E, v- o' U) v
assisting in the day-to-day operations of the Production Department.

1 @& h, l5 ?9 ~' y) w0 h% m4 s: IDuties:
7 p3 B' i( \* o6 N) z9 h( X- Assist with research on acquisition grants
/ |& v* [& u" n8 y2 g/ k, q& j4 h- Assist with production and post-production gear and facilities # C; N5 ~* ^) ~/ N
- Assist with equipment maintenance
) }/ D/ e3 n% L7 A- Assist with production logistics for programming events
( I& N: o/ B: h' r- Assist with communication with members and interoffice staff
+ n$ h3 Y7 W, C- Enforce FAVA’s standard of use policies where applicable ' i ]# p5 |, Q. d* I7 k" g/ o9 t8 p
- Provide vacation relief

Qualifications: The ideal candidate will have:
% Y' W+ \9 x% E5 F7 Z6 M! W- A passionate interest in film, video and media arts
$ A& Q/ K+ r$ u3 J5 X9 N- Advance skills in technical aspects of film and video equipment
+ T! ?/ n |+ w2 i- Advance organizational and research skills 3 P& `$ c0 i0 k P( L e
- Advance skills of current trends in technology i.e. HD
5 K2 M# t% A# B3 w, ?& O1 |- Strong team player abilities + H p J8 l1 }2 ?. ^
