FAVA is currently looking for a Film, Video & Media Arts Assistant to join the FAVA team for 12 weeks in the summer of 2009. FAVA is a non-profit, charitable organization
' s( i% F' V, Xwhose mandate is to support the production and exhibition of film, video and media
/ ~+ G* O6 b" X% b" fartists from Northern Alberta. ' D6 m) k1 B% g" ?& K
7 n5 J8 B# M% o$ i! mFAVA serves members with diverse backgrounds and levels of experience, ranging from * |3 `. u [7 X: x) _$ u9 |
emerging, mid-range to established artists with an unwavering passion for film, video
1 r4 `. z3 q3 gand media art. FAVA offers: a variety of workshops for artistic and skill development; is a 5 r! ]7 G& S' z8 N
resource for production equipment and post-production facilities; hosts events and 7 s/ m& X0 z9 x* G
screenings; and fosters and develops a dynamic media arts community in Northern

Director and work with the Production Coordinator and Maintenance Coordinator by
" C1 [; r, |& J0 e+ @6 _assisting in the day-to-day operations of the Production Department.

7 K" m9 f3 C" y$ TDuties: % [9 b( l4 ~5 ^) O$ Y( y
- Assist with research on acquisition grants + g1 ~- f' N# t* V: u ?7 o' M
- Assist with production and post-production gear and facilities
& v: {( l* r7 z. S- L- Assist with equipment maintenance ) m9 y3 c' e# _( b" F
- Assist with production logistics for programming events / g# E( e- C9 T- r. P2 g- c1 V
- Assist with communication with members and interoffice staff
; O6 `2 N" }( |. ~2 i/ S) Q% r- Enforce FAVA’s standard of use policies where applicable

- Length of position: 12 consecutive weeks

- Advance skills in technical aspects of film and video equipment 2 _# u; q8 r; D L4 J+ o0 i$ z6 u* P
- Advance organizational and research skills 8 K% g0 v$ D$ ^+ o, S
- Advance skills of current trends in technology i.e. HD
