FAVA is currently looking for a Film, Video & Media Arts Assistant to join the FAVA team for 12 weeks in the summer of 2009. FAVA is a non-profit, charitable organization
0 w: X3 `+ M, E F' zwhose mandate is to support the production and exhibition of film, video and media ; _/ i9 U/ S4 g) k
artists from Northern Alberta.

screenings; and fosters and develops a dynamic media arts community in Northern

Job Description: The Film, Video & Media Arts Assistant will report to the Executive # m( Q; k& b+ e* M0 Z. K. @
Director and work with the Production Coordinator and Maintenance Coordinator by 0 T4 ^! u/ n( d# L
assisting in the day-to-day operations of the Production Department. 1 `8 W: n6 E- ~# j1 l% Z

Duties: 7 E3 m7 w$ A. A( V, Z/ \9 f4 N# ]
- Assist with research on acquisition grants A C& s8 F; j, o
- Assist with production and post-production gear and facilities
- v4 O; F1 L1 o; T" H- Assist with equipment maintenance * g; J: E' z2 b( I1 _) U
- Assist with production logistics for programming events
; v+ A6 c8 X/ J; I- v) b- Assist with communication with members and interoffice staff
, K. G0 K( {. C6 p0 b5 [- Enforce FAVA’s standard of use policies where applicable

Qualifications: The ideal candidate will have:

- Advance skills in technical aspects of film and video equipment " t0 |4 N8 l, ^& e! \8 o! I, w
- Advance organizational and research skills
- H, {1 h/ }3 I/ T2 g% R6 @! M- Advance skills of current trends in technology i.e. HD
- ~, u" t! w7 D: D* C$ b- Strong team player abilities ) {8 z/ a* d6 w" [2 p/ A) B% T
- Interest in working for an arts organization that is governed by a Board of Directors
