J; q; i l3 N3 B1 c, J; yFAVA is currently looking for a Film, Video & Media Arts Assistant to join the FAVA team for 12 weeks in the summer of 2009. FAVA is a non-profit, charitable organization
* `" _% @7 X% O0 Twhose mandate is to support the production and exhibition of film, video and media
3 B$ z) ?% W# n g( M0 o* h* p% nartists from Northern Alberta.

FAVA serves members with diverse backgrounds and levels of experience, ranging from
' I& w6 m" ?7 m7 b0 \emerging, mid-range to established artists with an unwavering passion for film, video ) |2 Y8 G0 a: K; f! p
and media art. FAVA offers: a variety of workshops for artistic and skill development; is a Q9 {8 r$ X+ v8 k, \
resource for production equipment and post-production facilities; hosts events and

Job Description: The Film, Video & Media Arts Assistant will report to the Executive
* g- H/ y [. FDirector and work with the Production Coordinator and Maintenance Coordinator by
4 F/ v" a$ T2 G+ W$ h' L9 kassisting in the day-to-day operations of the Production Department. * S1 n( L, L1 T* P
: L4 |3 \% ?; R+ ^( n# @Duties:
% k# s- s+ C, ~' @' S- Assist with research on acquisition grants . u; T- @/ Z8 t# `: x+ C9 M1 u
- Assist with production and post-production gear and facilities ; H7 h7 d0 e# {4 G: k
- Assist with equipment maintenance
5 a6 N, \$ h/ |/ K k% `: B: h K- Assist with production logistics for programming events
6 [/ _5 o: t! {- Assist with communication with members and interoffice staff 0 ]8 m- F, z- Q! x5 P B
- Enforce FAVA’s standard of use policies where applicable

- A passionate interest in film, video and media arts : k, z; U: _8 G; G( R, b
- Advance skills in technical aspects of film and video equipment
8 i- Q8 a+ T1 B6 }: o& B- Advance organizational and research skills o2 v, T+ _& ^8 Z
- Advance skills of current trends in technology i.e. HD
