FAVA is currently looking for a Film, Video & Media Arts Assistant to join the FAVA team for 12 weeks in the summer of 2009. FAVA is a non-profit, charitable organization
* p7 X. r' q* c: }whose mandate is to support the production and exhibition of film, video and media ( I: m1 \( _( [
artists from Northern Alberta.

$ Y5 q. N$ k$ \" g C) gFAVA serves members with diverse backgrounds and levels of experience, ranging from c: J8 O: U3 m- j
emerging, mid-range to established artists with an unwavering passion for film, video & i5 J4 o. ^7 V: F, J* Z2 U
and media art. FAVA offers: a variety of workshops for artistic and skill development; is a 3 i; [* Q& ~6 C, I2 y
resource for production equipment and post-production facilities; hosts events and + G3 K9 {3 x! x1 a! U6 K
screenings; and fosters and develops a dynamic media arts community in Northern

$ d T0 i! t4 o% u1 jJob Description: The Film, Video & Media Arts Assistant will report to the Executive & B7 R* I3 D# G% V
Director and work with the Production Coordinator and Maintenance Coordinator by ( m& [4 Y3 X4 P& d, @% ~# D
assisting in the day-to-day operations of the Production Department. 9 X O. p- `+ v4 H: Q
; m- r4 z" W& a* d* f# u
Duties: & } y( j' W. o0 ^
- Assist with research on acquisition grants
4 F1 @9 K) }! I2 U+ F. k0 G- Assist with production and post-production gear and facilities
. Z/ ^6 I ~! l2 z# g- Assist with equipment maintenance
8 B; Q( ` l! l2 n; ]- Assist with production logistics for programming events 6 L7 H' `/ U W- d2 n1 P* Q
- Assist with communication with members and interoffice staff 8 H5 X X4 K6 Z# Y* z
- Enforce FAVA’s standard of use policies where applicable " x, j, R, A; e& d2 H0 f
