FAVA is currently looking for a Film, Video & Media Arts Assistant to join the FAVA team for 12 weeks in the summer of 2009. FAVA is a non-profit, charitable organization
% J' I8 S9 z) w# F, Nwhose mandate is to support the production and exhibition of film, video and media

FAVA serves members with diverse backgrounds and levels of experience, ranging from

screenings; and fosters and develops a dynamic media arts community in Northern

Job Description: The Film, Video & Media Arts Assistant will report to the Executive
! p: Z V; u0 S4 B# }5 z# NDirector and work with the Production Coordinator and Maintenance Coordinator by
# E( M8 x' R# v8 D9 D1 Xassisting in the day-to-day operations of the Production Department. / z) F+ O: E) D6 c3 w z% U

Duties: o" R' h5 Q8 S7 f' i5 q3 V
- Assist with research on acquisition grants
2 \1 e* o {' b! l3 L- Assist with production and post-production gear and facilities $ B" C1 X2 c Q1 z6 h- V4 l
- Assist with equipment maintenance
: i7 f5 t: l0 C% `6 N, L- Assist with production logistics for programming events ! T+ g i/ e* X3 j$ E! e
- Assist with communication with members and interoffice staff

- Provide vacation relief

- A passionate interest in film, video and media arts
7 k6 V7 G% n0 x& O' S6 R- Advance skills in technical aspects of film and video equipment
