$ u! S* U5 r9 {8 tFAVA is currently looking for a Film, Video & Media Arts Assistant to join the FAVA team for 12 weeks in the summer of 2009. FAVA is a non-profit, charitable organization
/ [" U2 S5 p( l0 ]7 ^whose mandate is to support the production and exhibition of film, video and media
- d: g' n6 G* Rartists from Northern Alberta.

( ?8 M% ~1 a% v: |3 WFAVA serves members with diverse backgrounds and levels of experience, ranging from
/ @* N" ^# ^# Y% aemerging, mid-range to established artists with an unwavering passion for film, video
8 s3 A- Z4 {0 }- ]0 O1 m" Cand media art. FAVA offers: a variety of workshops for artistic and skill development; is a
resource for production equipment and post-production facilities; hosts events and
screenings; and fosters and develops a dynamic media arts community in Northern
Alberta.

$ H: S& ~" w% n! t6 c0 y, WJob Description: The Film, Video & Media Arts Assistant will report to the Executive
; }' H* K) A3 J3 T6 x4 BDirector and work with the Production Coordinator and Maintenance Coordinator by
- g3 X5 _1 Z8 R  _) yassisting in the day-to-day operations of the Production Department.

Duties:
- Assist with research on acquisition grants
- Assist with production and post-production gear and facilities
- Assist with equipment maintenance
- Assist with production logistics for programming events
- Assist with communication with members and interoffice staff
- Enforce FAVA’s standard of use policies where applicable
- Provide vacation relief

- Applicants must be unemployed and attending (or have recently completed) a post-
secondary training

$ d2 t  M) N: k' FQualifications: The ideal candidate will have:
; }3 @- S4 t# ?" C9 }/ H% \- A passionate interest in film, video and media arts
- Advance skills in technical aspects of film and video equipment
1 \, n- T; Z4 D$ Y! x2 _& e- Advance organizational and research skills
- Advance skills of current trends in technology i.e. HD
- Strong team player abilities
3 ?4 N* P# {# Q1 Z. c% G- Interest in working for an arts organization that is governed by a Board of Directors
