* e% ?5 a% A4 W, `- o% @5 YFAVA is currently looking for a Film, Video & Media Arts Assistant to join the FAVA team for 12 weeks in the summer of 2009. FAVA is a non-profit, charitable organization 6 A; r9 x1 o7 ?: V; c# \. A& y C
whose mandate is to support the production and exhibition of film, video and media # @' v) q+ o% S Y
artists from Northern Alberta.

( B! n- C. w" p; L) S% }/ {( ZFAVA serves members with diverse backgrounds and levels of experience, ranging from
' f/ b) \% C: H( Y7 Uemerging, mid-range to established artists with an unwavering passion for film, video ; M# M. z$ R9 E3 T; g3 N8 N
and media art. FAVA offers: a variety of workshops for artistic and skill development; is a
" g+ S1 w2 h9 \& s0 iresource for production equipment and post-production facilities; hosts events and

Job Description: The Film, Video & Media Arts Assistant will report to the Executive 8 `0 }0 J9 Q+ j: u
Director and work with the Production Coordinator and Maintenance Coordinator by
! o4 d; w! ?% f! ^6 cassisting in the day-to-day operations of the Production Department. ' ]& B- D, G0 {/ j' c. ^
: `( R3 s a# @0 j+ w$ g5 o# a/ kDuties:
6 M- I, Z% V: a- Assist with research on acquisition grants
8 I' z& z+ U' E2 e6 S- Assist with production and post-production gear and facilities % o0 E9 m* m0 u7 V
- Assist with equipment maintenance : ^6 l' D' d7 d" M
- Assist with production logistics for programming events , F4 L& w0 _# ]1 {4 v, |! v. h
- Assist with communication with members and interoffice staff * v2 p5 x6 s! w j
- Enforce FAVA’s standard of use policies where applicable 0 N9 R! X) P( o3 K0 L3 K
- Provide vacation relief

secondary training
+ L$ L6 l t6 ~) N6 G; m- Wage is $15.00 per hour, 35 hours per week

- A passionate interest in film, video and media arts ' y. Z w1 S: F& i1 y% f8 G
- Advance skills in technical aspects of film and video equipment
& E7 W6 `- o" _7 F' P5 g$ ]' O- Advance organizational and research skills * N# I8 V9 d2 V2 Y7 K0 O
- Advance skills of current trends in technology i.e. HD
9 H2 P5 U7 F# v0 q, s- Strong team player abilities ' |+ j( Q* H4 X8 P9 L
- Interest in working for an arts organization that is governed by a Board of Directors
