FAVA is currently looking for a Film, Video & Media Arts Assistant to join the FAVA team for 12 weeks in the summer of 2009. FAVA is a non-profit, charitable organization $ D4 C8 T* I% Y$ c; f, m: E
whose mandate is to support the production and exhibition of film, video and media 2 Y; x& E8 ~8 X( d$ ?
artists from Northern Alberta.

and media art. FAVA offers: a variety of workshops for artistic and skill development; is a
W: h+ D: p& R8 Nresource for production equipment and post-production facilities; hosts events and
' s7 }5 k5 U& c1 a( `# E3 `screenings; and fosters and develops a dynamic media arts community in Northern

# c0 h Q4 N+ f( d0 ^Job Description: The Film, Video & Media Arts Assistant will report to the Executive $ ~% g" I( q1 _. r
Director and work with the Production Coordinator and Maintenance Coordinator by % N- V, F; \: R' {# s) T
assisting in the day-to-day operations of the Production Department. 8 X" O \ ^! c. w: y

- Assist with research on acquisition grants s( L( ]" o, a' W, K( R2 O- C* C
- Assist with production and post-production gear and facilities 7 s# x: p" J% z0 W8 K
- Assist with equipment maintenance
- d7 n4 [$ G! }# {* ^& {7 |- Assist with production logistics for programming events
4 t8 G% I, b* p- Assist with communication with members and interoffice staff N( E8 _$ T4 {8 r* J
- Enforce FAVA’s standard of use policies where applicable

- Applicants must be unemployed and attending (or have recently completed) a post-

Qualifications: The ideal candidate will have:

9 n4 K1 u p S5 g1 C- Advance skills in technical aspects of film and video equipment
) f% V( C' p9 g& J T2 V! G- `- Advance organizational and research skills 0 O6 Q" O5 E" z, S3 ~& V1 B0 [
- Advance skills of current trends in technology i.e. HD 6 F, C$ |* d5 N% K' ~* V
- Strong team player abilities
