FAVA is currently looking for a Film, Video & Media Arts Assistant to join the FAVA team for 12 weeks in the summer of 2009. FAVA is a non-profit, charitable organization 4 f: y" l. U6 R6 t' O
whose mandate is to support the production and exhibition of film, video and media

FAVA serves members with diverse backgrounds and levels of experience, ranging from
- [' T3 {; H7 P7 c4 femerging, mid-range to established artists with an unwavering passion for film, video
+ G, s# V9 L. i) ^and media art. FAVA offers: a variety of workshops for artistic and skill development; is a
9 `% a$ b' }* h% s# y: T; Lresource for production equipment and post-production facilities; hosts events and
# I% `/ V) e/ p( Lscreenings; and fosters and develops a dynamic media arts community in Northern

Job Description: The Film, Video & Media Arts Assistant will report to the Executive 9 \8 a, z! Q2 E$ @$ w
Director and work with the Production Coordinator and Maintenance Coordinator by
! p! \7 ^$ n6 I9 T( g# s( uassisting in the day-to-day operations of the Production Department.
# h& [6 f( F$ M% ~# {2 g
$ Y3 j1 M" i# ^3 |Duties: ' V$ S* p* y( V# H; i& {! R
- Assist with research on acquisition grants # F; M8 X8 N* ~$ D" e B4 ~5 X% I
- Assist with production and post-production gear and facilities
& X- k* W: M+ ` W2 Y P! o4 g- Assist with equipment maintenance ' O% [1 }: X# v% v
- Assist with production logistics for programming events - }+ w4 e- v0 o
- Assist with communication with members and interoffice staff
$ z- y9 N- B/ L4 E, d# ~1 `- Enforce FAVA’s standard of use policies where applicable 0 k" v0 ]- Q: u. ], B
- Provide vacation relief

- Funding for this position is partially provided by the Summer Temporary Employment
