whose mandate is to support the production and exhibition of film, video and media 2 b2 u# p8 J) T+ I* R/ a' P' V) Y

3 }3 y6 g; Z& t7 D2 ^FAVA serves members with diverse backgrounds and levels of experience, ranging from + r2 E& q/ H' v/ U5 t& D
emerging, mid-range to established artists with an unwavering passion for film, video # {- A7 _( h/ V1 h1 z7 [
and media art. FAVA offers: a variety of workshops for artistic and skill development; is a 5 a8 L8 d$ j- Q
resource for production equipment and post-production facilities; hosts events and
z# ^3 V4 q8 b) y) G* lscreenings; and fosters and develops a dynamic media arts community in Northern 4 r* J. [3 H( O2 ]

J8 {# s' g' j7 m2 k- h* jJob Description: The Film, Video & Media Arts Assistant will report to the Executive + v5 [' d0 N9 t' d, x9 H f
Director and work with the Production Coordinator and Maintenance Coordinator by
" j; G5 N/ f, u/ J5 ]( Nassisting in the day-to-day operations of the Production Department.

2 c% f2 y, o1 @Duties: 0 t) p# P6 Z& ~0 k9 P5 e
- Assist with research on acquisition grants e, H* K- K6 d1 x( V
- Assist with production and post-production gear and facilities * n6 Q* ^# l" n# H2 L' W. I
- Assist with equipment maintenance
: J; C- J$ M' p6 p- Assist with production logistics for programming events
( T. V# @- N& ]* V0 A! g B- Assist with communication with members and interoffice staff / `* ~7 y1 B1 ]" C- O7 D3 ~0 f
- Enforce FAVA’s standard of use policies where applicable

- Wage is $15.00 per hour, 35 hours per week

- Advance skills in technical aspects of film and video equipment 0 }, C/ N- V7 i5 O8 v( I4 V0 G
- Advance organizational and research skills
7 ~. }3 F/ a" _& }- Advance skills of current trends in technology i.e. HD
% I" D- F; K* u( A- Strong team player abilities & H$ {& ]0 j% T4 ]$ _
- Interest in working for an arts organization that is governed by a Board of Directors
