FAVA is currently looking for a Film, Video & Media Arts Assistant to join the FAVA team for 12 weeks in the summer of 2009. FAVA is a non-profit, charitable organization
; e& T6 s* z4 C% \# @5 mwhose mandate is to support the production and exhibition of film, video and media
8 }5 l% C3 O7 W7 ]artists from Northern Alberta. $ W! n% C7 a- L* Y
O; C2 D1 h- }" j6 K1 \FAVA serves members with diverse backgrounds and levels of experience, ranging from # v& q' `& n. i
emerging, mid-range to established artists with an unwavering passion for film, video " K5 K, R& p' u
and media art. FAVA offers: a variety of workshops for artistic and skill development; is a
. ?# |) O0 p4 B) Xresource for production equipment and post-production facilities; hosts events and 0 I6 ~( m5 O7 s' `" v. p
screenings; and fosters and develops a dynamic media arts community in Northern % K( ^, }. a7 t5 r8 k( J* W! L% W
Alberta.

Job Description: The Film, Video & Media Arts Assistant will report to the Executive ' r i1 K1 E6 R
Director and work with the Production Coordinator and Maintenance Coordinator by : x% n/ R; X7 S d0 y* x
assisting in the day-to-day operations of the Production Department. $ ^9 {2 Q) _( D% x/ Z5 X9 B' e8 U
0 X7 B+ v% l& v& vDuties: ' `4 C5 x+ w. x+ X% D8 B+ K
- Assist with research on acquisition grants # a" n; S- P0 \9 T- L/ g
- Assist with production and post-production gear and facilities
. |6 F _% a$ J5 m$ F" v6 ?/ a- Assist with equipment maintenance . S/ X! y2 @) L2 R
- Assist with production logistics for programming events 5 V& x( }/ z, t* A
- Assist with communication with members and interoffice staff " e( Y- W: F$ `& u O) M A/ k/ f
- Enforce FAVA’s standard of use policies where applicable

- Advance skills in technical aspects of film and video equipment
