2 f0 H+ g* m# U" U4 TFAVA is currently looking for a Film, Video & Media Arts Assistant to join the FAVA team for 12 weeks in the summer of 2009. FAVA is a non-profit, charitable organization 1 T0 _" }2 C/ r6 L
whose mandate is to support the production and exhibition of film, video and media
! N: L5 V. z3 b% C" O3 Zartists from Northern Alberta.

FAVA serves members with diverse backgrounds and levels of experience, ranging from
/ R- J: k2 b& o( n4 Y8 { P( \, Semerging, mid-range to established artists with an unwavering passion for film, video + m! Q; m/ c9 B% `9 L! w$ n
and media art. FAVA offers: a variety of workshops for artistic and skill development; is a " i/ y2 T2 T; \% K4 M$ i* ~6 m( z) y
resource for production equipment and post-production facilities; hosts events and $ \4 f" r4 w, J7 D, K
screenings; and fosters and develops a dynamic media arts community in Northern 9 G/ c; N8 ~+ y
Alberta.

Job Description: The Film, Video & Media Arts Assistant will report to the Executive 7 t) \( i# V5 w1 N+ E
Director and work with the Production Coordinator and Maintenance Coordinator by
$ d4 R% y% S* v: Jassisting in the day-to-day operations of the Production Department. 2 y! u7 n$ w7 S/ [# q7 `3 `
H. d) d" Q* V! [! A7 j/ x) b
Duties:
4 J* U5 F1 A9 f- Assist with research on acquisition grants
# T, E( R' e2 S% |. i4 R: W. u9 H- Assist with production and post-production gear and facilities 6 C. i: J: N- e; D
- Assist with equipment maintenance % t9 e6 x/ _& X. p/ e4 U$ z
- Assist with production logistics for programming events 9 C2 A3 \9 _& c. r7 a" I+ }) ~* ~
- Assist with communication with members and interoffice staff ( k% r# H! ?% z% E* c5 ?( B3 z! L
- Enforce FAVA’s standard of use policies where applicable 2 A5 `+ l& d: E' R& b- _9 z
- Provide vacation relief

- Wage is $15.00 per hour, 35 hours per week

& c+ a, j9 L+ R9 H1 u- Advance skills in technical aspects of film and video equipment $ y& C# Q( o( v
- Advance organizational and research skills 6 K$ L. W0 c. U& d& l: T
- Advance skills of current trends in technology i.e. HD # E0 _- Q; u0 c! c/ K' d' E1 F
- Strong team player abilities
