FAVA is currently looking for a Film, Video & Media Arts Assistant to join the FAVA team for 12 weeks in the summer of 2009. FAVA is a non-profit, charitable organization
; e& T6 s* z4 C% \# @5 mwhose mandate is to support the production and exhibition of film, video and media
8 }5 l% C3 O7 W7 ]artists from Northern Alberta.

  O; C2 D1 h- }" j6 K1 \FAVA serves members with diverse backgrounds and levels of experience, ranging from
emerging, mid-range to established artists with an unwavering passion for film, video
and media art. FAVA offers: a variety of workshops for artistic and skill development; is a
. ?# |) O0 p4 B) Xresource for production equipment and post-production facilities; hosts events and
screenings; and fosters and develops a dynamic media arts community in Northern
Alberta.

Job Description: The Film, Video & Media Arts Assistant will report to the Executive
Director and work with the Production Coordinator and Maintenance Coordinator by
assisting in the day-to-day operations of the Production Department.

0 X7 B+ v% l& v& vDuties:
- Assist with research on acquisition grants
- Assist with production and post-production gear and facilities
. |6 F  _% a$ J5 m$ F" v6 ?/ a- Assist with equipment maintenance
- Assist with production logistics for programming events
- Assist with communication with members and interoffice staff
- Enforce FAVA’s standard of use policies where applicable

- Funding for this position is partially provided by the Summer Temporary Employment

- Applicants must be unemployed and attending (or have recently completed) a post-
secondary training
% I3 A  _) Y- T- Wage is $15.00 per hour, 35 hours per week
- Length of position: 12 consecutive weeks

- A passionate interest in film, video and media arts
- Advance skills in technical aspects of film and video equipment
1 e, W. _7 M# a! x. E- Advance organizational and research skills
# g; S9 L9 n" F3 p- Y0 ?- Advance skills of current trends in technology i.e. HD
- Strong team player abilities
