FAVA is currently looking for a Film, Video & Media Arts Assistant to join the FAVA team for 12 weeks in the summer of 2009. FAVA is a non-profit, charitable organization

FAVA serves members with diverse backgrounds and levels of experience, ranging from
A5 \1 L' U5 R/ w+ `' F4 yemerging, mid-range to established artists with an unwavering passion for film, video
* p. b$ d# Z) {and media art. FAVA offers: a variety of workshops for artistic and skill development; is a * L0 L( @; J) w% Q6 x
resource for production equipment and post-production facilities; hosts events and + c% {- f% F( X. q9 O" G% a& x; Z2 N
screenings; and fosters and develops a dynamic media arts community in Northern

! X( t X6 E# K6 ]" D/ L7 A5 N) BJob Description: The Film, Video & Media Arts Assistant will report to the Executive
$ p& r' `$ q4 L0 d! k* a) ]Director and work with the Production Coordinator and Maintenance Coordinator by
; |4 |, p/ \" [* M) `assisting in the day-to-day operations of the Production Department. % [2 {4 R# Q' f) d+ Y
) b( {% e% t1 T- `Duties: : ^: G4 v! a* _9 K$ a/ w
- Assist with research on acquisition grants 0 e+ w* b8 W% _9 }6 z
- Assist with production and post-production gear and facilities ( r, [+ V( g" Y5 x' R
- Assist with equipment maintenance
. L; b9 \/ o) Q' U' G- Assist with production logistics for programming events 5 u; f: s$ f% t# t! x& `5 K" ~
- Assist with communication with members and interoffice staff $ i4 O- r4 [* ^& }) p) t0 w, A
- Enforce FAVA’s standard of use policies where applicable

- Applicants must be unemployed and attending (or have recently completed) a post-

; Y: w" C! I1 k+ X- Wage is $15.00 per hour, 35 hours per week

Qualifications: The ideal candidate will have:
' J1 x* j/ D- D, b; \0 m- A passionate interest in film, video and media arts / Z+ b1 F0 w9 ^# q# ^
- Advance skills in technical aspects of film and video equipment $ n+ ~% Q) ^' L B- @
- Advance organizational and research skills , I# R( U5 D* W1 ^6 H
- Advance skills of current trends in technology i.e. HD
1 a/ b* P: A4 _, L- Strong team player abilities ' J; @& q3 b3 ]
- Interest in working for an arts organization that is governed by a Board of Directors
