7 y0 B' B8 q" L& W) R' dFAVA is currently looking for a Film, Video & Media Arts Assistant to join the FAVA team for 12 weeks in the summer of 2009. FAVA is a non-profit, charitable organization ) o, d0 D9 V* h" Z* W: m
whose mandate is to support the production and exhibition of film, video and media

FAVA serves members with diverse backgrounds and levels of experience, ranging from ! S4 {' N) c. u( M" ?, R8 u
emerging, mid-range to established artists with an unwavering passion for film, video 9 g6 R' ]$ {3 s( i E! O
and media art. FAVA offers: a variety of workshops for artistic and skill development; is a
* k; R6 f0 b `) E7 A# tresource for production equipment and post-production facilities; hosts events and 1 n0 @3 z# W& L. Z% d) A; O
screenings; and fosters and develops a dynamic media arts community in Northern

7 F; R5 g, S; Q MJob Description: The Film, Video & Media Arts Assistant will report to the Executive
1 x5 w( f! W i3 ]" n! Q jDirector and work with the Production Coordinator and Maintenance Coordinator by $ Y% y! }* x% n" f% q% U+ o& f
assisting in the day-to-day operations of the Production Department. : ~+ }9 u, h, Z1 V& l6 Z

( w; t# P; Y' k$ d) r8 u- Assist with research on acquisition grants
: d) N J7 G x( g) a6 a- Assist with production and post-production gear and facilities ' f9 j" f! j, m
- Assist with equipment maintenance : o8 w2 i$ k9 B' {% G: k8 J
- Assist with production logistics for programming events
: V6 j+ Q7 f/ \$ C- Assist with communication with members and interoffice staff
' i! Z1 x0 J% P. k/ F/ s. E- Enforce FAVA’s standard of use policies where applicable ( {" P8 w) U) a

- Wage is $15.00 per hour, 35 hours per week

Qualifications: The ideal candidate will have: 4 D! B/ A& D! E/ h0 h
- A passionate interest in film, video and media arts
9 V+ L. ^5 ?5 P# p4 Q- Advance skills in technical aspects of film and video equipment
# Z& ?8 l& Y8 L- Advance organizational and research skills % ~2 S) m5 \- |, [, ^
- Advance skills of current trends in technology i.e. HD 2 f r, Y. D/ h8 k
- Strong team player abilities ' k2 e3 R9 L1 E+ Q' I
- Interest in working for an arts organization that is governed by a Board of Directors ! o/ r& }. E: v& w& T
