2 c& R+ |9 M4 T* DFAVA is currently looking for a Film, Video & Media Arts Assistant to join the FAVA team for 12 weeks in the summer of 2009. FAVA is a non-profit, charitable organization

artists from Northern Alberta.

]; r4 p" m; m# [4 VFAVA serves members with diverse backgrounds and levels of experience, ranging from
7 k* o; V. G" y. S7 hemerging, mid-range to established artists with an unwavering passion for film, video $ ]. `, o' l! S- _: g! P
and media art. FAVA offers: a variety of workshops for artistic and skill development; is a
+ u' Z7 B! |, N! q' }2 vresource for production equipment and post-production facilities; hosts events and
) l2 ~4 k% }4 ]6 n. C1 c$ ^' Yscreenings; and fosters and develops a dynamic media arts community in Northern

8 {/ t( l" \5 j8 L8 F% TJob Description: The Film, Video & Media Arts Assistant will report to the Executive ) }" w) C5 [: d8 W
Director and work with the Production Coordinator and Maintenance Coordinator by 3 ?, d+ n# r3 W3 z+ i: b" M0 X2 B( J' [
assisting in the day-to-day operations of the Production Department.

- Assist with research on acquisition grants & V2 A/ P: N# N' s; O2 n7 G# w9 W
- Assist with production and post-production gear and facilities
, q; }3 b' b8 k1 N- Assist with equipment maintenance
3 ~" D1 g3 W5 t- H2 D) u! w4 F2 ^- Assist with production logistics for programming events " Q5 |8 m& p& Y1 a
- Assist with communication with members and interoffice staff
: n( x2 L* p% A" R J- Enforce FAVA’s standard of use policies where applicable

- A passionate interest in film, video and media arts , k2 c; F9 w/ {$ E3 z
- Advance skills in technical aspects of film and video equipment 9 j+ [% j( R; k% p6 w7 M
- Advance organizational and research skills ' T5 b5 q1 A7 M) m1 O
- Advance skills of current trends in technology i.e. HD ( p- O) f; h, _; t/ G# N" T
- Strong team player abilities 5 S* F: v, {& w+ o2 l* g9 B
- Interest in working for an arts organization that is governed by a Board of Directors
