3 d* r* o+ T& {FAVA is currently looking for a Film, Video & Media Arts Assistant to join the FAVA team for 12 weeks in the summer of 2009. FAVA is a non-profit, charitable organization ' t4 p+ K8 j7 _9 |; @% ~+ L% |8 n
whose mandate is to support the production and exhibition of film, video and media
2 o' P" ^# S" @artists from Northern Alberta.

FAVA serves members with diverse backgrounds and levels of experience, ranging from ! g/ c8 E# k3 l. Y. @2 L! Y. x
emerging, mid-range to established artists with an unwavering passion for film, video
/ t' U" R/ B: i4 R7 S% E; [" ]* p% }and media art. FAVA offers: a variety of workshops for artistic and skill development; is a 8 M7 H$ o% y& _; Q# S
resource for production equipment and post-production facilities; hosts events and
% \$ u: _; ^9 ~& _, Z9 Y, rscreenings; and fosters and develops a dynamic media arts community in Northern 6 {/ ]- Q- y# e5 C( \

assisting in the day-to-day operations of the Production Department.

- Assist with research on acquisition grants
% E% t6 }' C0 Q W; X. b h" C) k. Q- Assist with production and post-production gear and facilities
; ^* x: W+ p# b$ J1 ^2 E8 M- Assist with equipment maintenance 9 Z; \0 o! |+ b- s7 ` H8 a& N, g! p6 _
- Assist with production logistics for programming events 6 t A1 r. ]! j) c; _( c
- Assist with communication with members and interoffice staff ( p2 ?( Y" p6 Z; q* r; G6 R2 S
- Enforce FAVA’s standard of use policies where applicable

- A passionate interest in film, video and media arts
5 N3 G8 M$ m0 O0 L$ V8 v- Advance skills in technical aspects of film and video equipment - @! a( r: c2 }' ~9 g
- Advance organizational and research skills $ C7 X9 s7 c. v) N1 i/ L5 y
- Advance skills of current trends in technology i.e. HD
8 i$ I) _, V l+ s q- Strong team player abilities
