FAVA is currently looking for a Film, Video & Media Arts Assistant to join the FAVA team for 12 weeks in the summer of 2009. FAVA is a non-profit, charitable organization

emerging, mid-range to established artists with an unwavering passion for film, video

screenings; and fosters and develops a dynamic media arts community in Northern

Job Description: The Film, Video & Media Arts Assistant will report to the Executive 0 e) n0 X1 k3 s* Q
Director and work with the Production Coordinator and Maintenance Coordinator by
+ r' q6 y. W* Q5 r$ {- j9 z6 k! dassisting in the day-to-day operations of the Production Department. 3 x" W% V' W$ J7 n8 q& ]

Duties: # g% Y- n2 t* ~2 O9 V
- Assist with research on acquisition grants
; h3 I4 L- N) }4 j- Assist with production and post-production gear and facilities : ?& d9 x6 ~, }& n, b7 a5 ^3 |
- Assist with equipment maintenance
" ]' v5 y" F! @- Assist with production logistics for programming events ; d& i o7 u$ s- I
- Assist with communication with members and interoffice staff 4 ?4 ? C. b& [) |
- Enforce FAVA’s standard of use policies where applicable
! I6 [) F( ~2 l; A( f2 @8 d- Provide vacation relief 5 ^# E$ W7 g$ r& N. I; g7 Z" ^

- Wage is $15.00 per hour, 35 hours per week ( a; L/ Z9 M9 R m9 x' |+ |
- Length of position: 12 consecutive weeks

- Advance skills in technical aspects of film and video equipment

- Advance skills of current trends in technology i.e. HD
