FAVA is currently looking for a Film, Video & Media Arts Assistant to join the FAVA team for 12 weeks in the summer of 2009. FAVA is a non-profit, charitable organization
% ^/ F$ U  W4 n3 kwhose mandate is to support the production and exhibition of film, video and media
; Z) s# y( ~# p8 P' T/ Dartists from Northern Alberta.

FAVA serves members with diverse backgrounds and levels of experience, ranging from
7 \' W# B, x# z4 A8 Qemerging, mid-range to established artists with an unwavering passion for film, video
- R5 c1 Y( B0 Mand media art. FAVA offers: a variety of workshops for artistic and skill development; is a
resource for production equipment and post-production facilities; hosts events and
5 ?$ L# x4 E( Q: |screenings; and fosters and develops a dynamic media arts community in Northern
) K) S; S0 f( R& E  cAlberta.

Job Description: The Film, Video & Media Arts Assistant will report to the Executive
( V6 L* Q+ Y3 U% YDirector and work with the Production Coordinator and Maintenance Coordinator by
& x/ v3 p4 ]( S1 K) iassisting in the day-to-day operations of the Production Department.

2 ^* q$ c7 i* g2 P; p% A) YDuties:
) |7 B& Q" b! r/ O4 o- Assist with research on acquisition grants
- Assist with production and post-production gear and facilities
- Assist with equipment maintenance
  z1 c' A4 i8 M. f3 Z0 {- Assist with production logistics for programming events
- Assist with communication with members and interoffice staff
- Enforce FAVA’s standard of use policies where applicable
- Provide vacation relief

- Wage is $15.00 per hour, 35 hours per week
- Length of position: 12 consecutive weeks

+ K, g9 C. U$ u) I" k8 R. j/ g- A passionate interest in film, video and media arts
- Advance skills in technical aspects of film and video equipment
) q. k- o- Y: _9 }5 \: H2 b- Advance organizational and research skills
- Advance skills of current trends in technology i.e. HD
- Strong team player abilities
