0 s. `* q+ C1 Q2 Q" ]. pFAVA is currently looking for a Film, Video & Media Arts Assistant to join the FAVA team for 12 weeks in the summer of 2009. FAVA is a non-profit, charitable organization # k: U3 d" \/ Q" T _; V- R
whose mandate is to support the production and exhibition of film, video and media

! @& c, @, \8 vFAVA serves members with diverse backgrounds and levels of experience, ranging from
1 I6 } s+ `9 h! H3 Q# [) ^emerging, mid-range to established artists with an unwavering passion for film, video
2 x5 i; v2 E& E- A) C/ Qand media art. FAVA offers: a variety of workshops for artistic and skill development; is a 1 u- M& ?, [' Y! v3 e
resource for production equipment and post-production facilities; hosts events and 4 z9 f2 C( l R7 F
screenings; and fosters and develops a dynamic media arts community in Northern

Job Description: The Film, Video & Media Arts Assistant will report to the Executive
o0 L; c# u' X4 G" T$ k& i5 [6 gDirector and work with the Production Coordinator and Maintenance Coordinator by 8 D; W: J% L8 G
assisting in the day-to-day operations of the Production Department. & L8 N# C! j$ U
& l; K A& O" X. fDuties: 0 W0 O$ D" i D5 p' W
- Assist with research on acquisition grants $ I/ Z' n* y2 d- W n O
- Assist with production and post-production gear and facilities 1 [! }$ T/ p( F+ C1 { G: J
- Assist with equipment maintenance
0 z% W9 D+ O$ H' m! C- Assist with production logistics for programming events
4 c3 P1 P9 B: u5 ]( [5 N; g. Z2 r- Assist with communication with members and interoffice staff - e+ W" l+ M8 P; V% U) u% Y" L3 H
- Enforce FAVA’s standard of use policies where applicable 9 s5 ]% i' ^7 I( q& _( `" `: v2 ]
- Provide vacation relief $ w) J" P7 e9 L

- Applicants must be unemployed and attending (or have recently completed) a post-- g, u$ y, A G: ~; \9 s
secondary training

- Length of position: 12 consecutive weeks

- A passionate interest in film, video and media arts 8 S; U Q, u5 \ P" K
- Advance skills in technical aspects of film and video equipment

- Advance skills of current trends in technology i.e. HD D+ o$ o6 a4 i. ~
- Strong team player abilities
