FAVA is currently looking for a Film, Video & Media Arts Assistant to join the FAVA team for 12 weeks in the summer of 2009. FAVA is a non-profit, charitable organization - ?5 v" W) {* z
whose mandate is to support the production and exhibition of film, video and media
$ U- e$ Q# F6 M" E6 V" }3 [0 T+ }artists from Northern Alberta. 4 u4 n1 g/ q. v: i6 d& i
& L' ^& U' f$ R0 U# l; L( ]$ F
FAVA serves members with diverse backgrounds and levels of experience, ranging from
! E- X! |. ?( Nemerging, mid-range to established artists with an unwavering passion for film, video 0 F, a" _& [3 G9 c# q+ {! E+ X9 x$ f
and media art. FAVA offers: a variety of workshops for artistic and skill development; is a : c6 C$ Y: ~% J& q
resource for production equipment and post-production facilities; hosts events and

/ P0 x2 B& D1 w* }6 KJob Description: The Film, Video & Media Arts Assistant will report to the Executive
4 q- E8 F2 k. fDirector and work with the Production Coordinator and Maintenance Coordinator by
6 T- V) |, Z# A% V# Uassisting in the day-to-day operations of the Production Department.

Duties:
! j" k7 q4 z$ g- Assist with research on acquisition grants
% q+ h" v- m( {, \- Assist with production and post-production gear and facilities
# y% l4 [- k$ d, c, B" s- Assist with equipment maintenance
) J$ ^7 l+ F0 }# T; _, o: V- Assist with production logistics for programming events
" N3 L, c9 ]. E9 P0 @4 v2 c- Assist with communication with members and interoffice staff - y f- z r4 f
- Enforce FAVA’s standard of use policies where applicable

- Wage is $15.00 per hour, 35 hours per week

- A passionate interest in film, video and media arts

- Advance skills of current trends in technology i.e. HD

- Interest in working for an arts organization that is governed by a Board of Directors
