FAVA is currently looking for a Film, Video & Media Arts Assistant to join the FAVA team for 12 weeks in the summer of 2009. FAVA is a non-profit, charitable organization / h3 c" ]- r. r" p$ V7 j' F
whose mandate is to support the production and exhibition of film, video and media
" k& Q: L% F0 w2 D) cartists from Northern Alberta. - \* T( x& Z6 Q6 z5 |+ Y1 @
: g+ B* p% W+ ?FAVA serves members with diverse backgrounds and levels of experience, ranging from
, ]) U3 w, \! z- u9 W/ oemerging, mid-range to established artists with an unwavering passion for film, video . C* R4 U( \" Y8 p0 Z3 k9 T1 N- S' I
and media art. FAVA offers: a variety of workshops for artistic and skill development; is a
1 _5 N) a7 r+ d) Q' \* D, Wresource for production equipment and post-production facilities; hosts events and
# \0 m3 I6 g; q" X9 v2 W0 wscreenings; and fosters and develops a dynamic media arts community in Northern

Job Description: The Film, Video & Media Arts Assistant will report to the Executive . w' |1 ?' M0 g
Director and work with the Production Coordinator and Maintenance Coordinator by
2 }4 O7 X1 Z4 v: Uassisting in the day-to-day operations of the Production Department.
' P& S, U* o0 [* Q0 f D5 x ?$ ?7 A$ X5 n& @
Duties: ( `* @8 ]6 M) G& p# N% u9 V
- Assist with research on acquisition grants
+ ~) u' T9 j9 N) \- Assist with production and post-production gear and facilities
$ J6 {9 S; x* }) m- Assist with equipment maintenance , w8 }7 o$ {4 n1 P F) q6 ^: F
- Assist with production logistics for programming events 4 h6 ?- l. G- `. G/ E6 x5 f
- Assist with communication with members and interoffice staff
+ I0 Q2 D! s, C( z \6 t d- Enforce FAVA’s standard of use policies where applicable $ q/ P$ W6 K+ Z4 ]) E/ E+ K
- Provide vacation relief 0 E& @# [+ b7 m( l" F7 f4 W

- A passionate interest in film, video and media arts
