/ r2 p% j1 p* B1 EFAVA serves members with diverse backgrounds and levels of experience, ranging from
4 v( l# M& N/ u: b& kemerging, mid-range to established artists with an unwavering passion for film, video & ?) y) U+ O' d- d" M/ i4 r
and media art. FAVA offers: a variety of workshops for artistic and skill development; is a
- A; t2 {# S* _- x' Y* _5 E) }/ uresource for production equipment and post-production facilities; hosts events and
' Z" t7 ?! y2 d: I9 escreenings; and fosters and develops a dynamic media arts community in Northern 1 \7 L- z) P% u0 @
Alberta.

Job Description: The Film, Video & Media Arts Assistant will report to the Executive ) ?* C t9 [# X
Director and work with the Production Coordinator and Maintenance Coordinator by r7 \3 E) G" U# J' J/ x" }
assisting in the day-to-day operations of the Production Department. ! s F4 o/ z) h% `# ]4 M, u7 @
8 a" @" u, ]- F% H: `3 m8 @Duties:
' N! c! P8 J8 h1 I/ v, M- Assist with research on acquisition grants 7 J. l5 S; ]: g* O
- Assist with production and post-production gear and facilities . r5 f3 x [% a7 E' |! \" R
- Assist with equipment maintenance
) y" Y4 C& v2 T8 H" M0 s: \. S- Assist with production logistics for programming events
6 p* t; t" { z+ V: X9 {6 g- Assist with communication with members and interoffice staff
! d- y9 s) b) }9 v3 c9 H0 X- Enforce FAVA’s standard of use policies where applicable : {" x3 [" f! c/ I% c1 V/ V8 c
- Provide vacation relief

- Applicants must be unemployed and attending (or have recently completed) a post-% i/ g* U& Z" v, h1 E
secondary training 8 R6 b5 H i7 Q1 ^+ A# g( Q
- Wage is $15.00 per hour, 35 hours per week

- A passionate interest in film, video and media arts
" l9 o4 ^! U) v1 P. H' y- Advance skills in technical aspects of film and video equipment 1 r9 D0 j! b _, ]6 L* L6 Q
- Advance organizational and research skills 2 n8 O: `; J2 C* H* L2 j% |! r1 {
- Advance skills of current trends in technology i.e. HD ; F! l+ ]" F5 k2 N/ u
- Strong team player abilities
