FAVA is currently looking for a Film, Video & Media Arts Assistant to join the FAVA team for 12 weeks in the summer of 2009. FAVA is a non-profit, charitable organization

artists from Northern Alberta. / Q5 H& X5 D6 O
3 \' H- h- J! CFAVA serves members with diverse backgrounds and levels of experience, ranging from
8 }: _9 ?( r8 l2 |( e" @+ Aemerging, mid-range to established artists with an unwavering passion for film, video ) y& }+ C9 }+ C% p
and media art. FAVA offers: a variety of workshops for artistic and skill development; is a
) o! E6 b9 G9 |" T$ T. fresource for production equipment and post-production facilities; hosts events and 4 G! ]- d1 X+ n E
screenings; and fosters and develops a dynamic media arts community in Northern ) M$ b; X/ y( x. w& G3 u" w+ O: c; x

Job Description: The Film, Video & Media Arts Assistant will report to the Executive
* j6 n3 t2 _, b7 P7 aDirector and work with the Production Coordinator and Maintenance Coordinator by - [9 f& x5 q8 K3 p
assisting in the day-to-day operations of the Production Department.

$ o, z$ z5 X* S- Assist with research on acquisition grants
5 t; G4 V2 q* D3 e- Assist with production and post-production gear and facilities ' Z9 K9 e" I/ K% ]
- Assist with equipment maintenance 3 B1 b% \5 o7 }5 v
- Assist with production logistics for programming events , F# Q2 L. d. @9 _2 L+ p4 U
- Assist with communication with members and interoffice staff
; J& D/ a% _) L/ E* E- a) n8 Y8 v0 y- Enforce FAVA’s standard of use policies where applicable
) z, I* F2 ]2 ]# ?9 T& P% w+ X7 E- Provide vacation relief

secondary training

Qualifications: The ideal candidate will have:
8 q2 f: V, m6 f1 B+ r3 S- A passionate interest in film, video and media arts
$ t3 q# M6 }$ [- Advance skills in technical aspects of film and video equipment * I5 j# C% O C, J
- Advance organizational and research skills
- n$ B% h, |/ h: n2 d) o- Advance skills of current trends in technology i.e. HD 3 h$ Y" J1 T8 o2 R: Q
- Strong team player abilities
