FAVA is currently looking for a Film, Video & Media Arts Assistant to join the FAVA team for 12 weeks in the summer of 2009. FAVA is a non-profit, charitable organization 3 E, K# W' P* [1 C
whose mandate is to support the production and exhibition of film, video and media

- B: s, O6 k7 i# y8 H4 WFAVA serves members with diverse backgrounds and levels of experience, ranging from . D U ^2 C2 |# J1 t5 l& r& `$ c
emerging, mid-range to established artists with an unwavering passion for film, video $ o+ K) l* Q! ?
and media art. FAVA offers: a variety of workshops for artistic and skill development; is a

screenings; and fosters and develops a dynamic media arts community in Northern

Job Description: The Film, Video & Media Arts Assistant will report to the Executive
8 v' X+ _2 n; n h1 zDirector and work with the Production Coordinator and Maintenance Coordinator by
7 |$ U% Q& x3 |5 {# W- ^9 massisting in the day-to-day operations of the Production Department. 5 I. @0 m! D k8 m9 a
! S& P6 M( I0 N& S! }- e' K
Duties:
% Q2 d9 o \2 v8 d4 i* j/ v- Assist with research on acquisition grants / T6 m Q# A* z6 A
- Assist with production and post-production gear and facilities
5 h1 {0 n/ u( q- _- Assist with equipment maintenance . s4 E ~! }# \# E6 F& e. I
- Assist with production logistics for programming events
1 J; w6 H& {# r8 C% ?- Assist with communication with members and interoffice staff
, h5 {1 L4 ~7 I. w' s9 T- Enforce FAVA’s standard of use policies where applicable

- Applicants must be unemployed and attending (or have recently completed) a post-

% H- D* S$ G. I. ^1 G7 N- Wage is $15.00 per hour, 35 hours per week

Qualifications: The ideal candidate will have:

- Interest in working for an arts organization that is governed by a Board of Directors
