FAVA is currently looking for a Film, Video & Media Arts Assistant to join the FAVA team for 12 weeks in the summer of 2009. FAVA is a non-profit, charitable organization

FAVA serves members with diverse backgrounds and levels of experience, ranging from

: n" n' w( R k; h+ O7 yand media art. FAVA offers: a variety of workshops for artistic and skill development; is a
: i. }! k1 J6 r: W0 p. G( Cresource for production equipment and post-production facilities; hosts events and 1 r6 Z/ a& G4 a! l) N
screenings; and fosters and develops a dynamic media arts community in Northern

* W7 k: U7 \* L: @7 qJob Description: The Film, Video & Media Arts Assistant will report to the Executive
( A0 n5 Z5 e/ p6 X$ b' n/ dDirector and work with the Production Coordinator and Maintenance Coordinator by f- ~ }9 F) M: `& D4 x. u; _" }( [
assisting in the day-to-day operations of the Production Department.

Duties:
% X$ R8 M8 A* v" h, ^- Assist with research on acquisition grants
; ~$ k, w' [0 w1 J! C6 ~, p ?- Assist with production and post-production gear and facilities & r! B& P( F4 n) A, B# s3 _
- Assist with equipment maintenance 7 {% t) F0 e+ @2 \3 K2 G
- Assist with production logistics for programming events
) M. W( u: h; ?5 K- Assist with communication with members and interoffice staff 1 x& h3 @/ B' ^. z( ^/ d+ B* o
- Enforce FAVA’s standard of use policies where applicable

- Applicants must be unemployed and attending (or have recently completed) a post-

- Advance organizational and research skills
