FAVA is currently looking for a Film, Video & Media Arts Assistant to join the FAVA team for 12 weeks in the summer of 2009. FAVA is a non-profit, charitable organization 3 p& J% \' w, K, M3 E0 K
whose mandate is to support the production and exhibition of film, video and media

FAVA serves members with diverse backgrounds and levels of experience, ranging from 0 F6 Z5 x. @( t/ i) B# [1 Z
emerging, mid-range to established artists with an unwavering passion for film, video # t D0 Z6 s3 u) J' G/ j2 q; U$ i
and media art. FAVA offers: a variety of workshops for artistic and skill development; is a
; t& x1 j: ]0 q oresource for production equipment and post-production facilities; hosts events and 7 O4 B, z: D+ {- N' N) g9 l5 P. ~7 A
screenings; and fosters and develops a dynamic media arts community in Northern g( \- l# I. S

/ C2 g9 L4 r, c% ]/ _, e. h# iDirector and work with the Production Coordinator and Maintenance Coordinator by
, q- v5 A- C& A+ ?7 Z* A6 Q; lassisting in the day-to-day operations of the Production Department.

Duties:
5 w$ R) O3 E: s5 G0 h- Assist with research on acquisition grants
, X6 N$ E" r4 O8 j0 D- d- Assist with production and post-production gear and facilities
, Y4 v, s0 X d8 N7 u6 x- Assist with equipment maintenance ' A" D6 E# q1 O
- Assist with production logistics for programming events
* y" [0 N1 ?+ F- C, {! x3 v) F- Assist with communication with members and interoffice staff & h: q9 d% v S* D4 G, [) t3 q) c
- Enforce FAVA’s standard of use policies where applicable ) O7 u I4 z- T
- Provide vacation relief - r+ i5 n, G8 n s9 g7 V, M

- Applicants must be unemployed and attending (or have recently completed) a post-

- Length of position: 12 consecutive weeks

- Strong team player abilities
