) I' Z7 R/ A* J# ZFAVA is currently looking for a Film, Video & Media Arts Assistant to join the FAVA team for 12 weeks in the summer of 2009. FAVA is a non-profit, charitable organization
* ^& S- h) H y" e6 h+ dwhose mandate is to support the production and exhibition of film, video and media ! J) I6 f6 n$ Q3 r1 _' g$ P
artists from Northern Alberta.

FAVA serves members with diverse backgrounds and levels of experience, ranging from

resource for production equipment and post-production facilities; hosts events and
/ S, E% z% E8 H/ Tscreenings; and fosters and develops a dynamic media arts community in Northern

; ]4 R; y" S# R' _0 \Job Description: The Film, Video & Media Arts Assistant will report to the Executive
- ^6 f% j4 k: A# ?6 R, w" j+ bDirector and work with the Production Coordinator and Maintenance Coordinator by
* C; G; b8 u2 ?' Fassisting in the day-to-day operations of the Production Department. $ M0 I, B: |7 p& |

Duties: 8 G! O2 p) {( x0 `) I8 \8 L4 e
- Assist with research on acquisition grants / k" L8 s8 _$ c3 l! v P1 ~
- Assist with production and post-production gear and facilities 2 v$ d5 n9 Q: o# A6 |) E' \& g
- Assist with equipment maintenance ) U4 t0 q& Z+ T" O
- Assist with production logistics for programming events 9 L5 \1 r! G& m, M: q: ~
- Assist with communication with members and interoffice staff ' M; {. y8 o0 B& E
- Enforce FAVA’s standard of use policies where applicable

- Funding for this position is partially provided by the Summer Temporary Employment

- Applicants must be unemployed and attending (or have recently completed) a post-9 A" u4 O. v% S% v) C; |/ S I' p

- Wage is $15.00 per hour, 35 hours per week $ H5 e" M1 `7 N+ m
- Length of position: 12 consecutive weeks ( s8 w; m9 A; C
/ p3 Y8 K/ [% a( EQualifications: The ideal candidate will have:

- Advance organizational and research skills

- Strong team player abilities
