! U1 x3 @4 G3 H% i# dFAVA is currently looking for a Film, Video & Media Arts Assistant to join the FAVA team for 12 weeks in the summer of 2009. FAVA is a non-profit, charitable organization & w- c& u% ^2 r8 T- r2 T3 T
whose mandate is to support the production and exhibition of film, video and media 4 a. H: j/ c# Y4 p, p! {+ x4 ?
artists from Northern Alberta.

emerging, mid-range to established artists with an unwavering passion for film, video
$ T1 H/ N( q [/ k5 D6 Mand media art. FAVA offers: a variety of workshops for artistic and skill development; is a
% i% i- G' O% @0 hresource for production equipment and post-production facilities; hosts events and
' u% P. V! m8 @screenings; and fosters and develops a dynamic media arts community in Northern
: d+ u* D1 W, P A& r x' p& PAlberta.

0 x2 ^- Y/ a. x7 bJob Description: The Film, Video & Media Arts Assistant will report to the Executive
# F1 V% w# Q7 x, w/ ~' J5 p8 tDirector and work with the Production Coordinator and Maintenance Coordinator by
8 g \( i6 `. U; P1 Eassisting in the day-to-day operations of the Production Department.

& q! e v3 n t Y% x2 }9 jDuties: + i A( \: y& Y4 {5 p1 }
- Assist with research on acquisition grants 2 y& u6 ~6 @% V( H( w9 m; H0 M
- Assist with production and post-production gear and facilities % t! n5 J3 Z# i; w. ~
- Assist with equipment maintenance 8 \# z9 v/ H8 \7 _' u& x, o) s. ]
- Assist with production logistics for programming events
3 e. B" c8 Y! ?1 e; D! _- Assist with communication with members and interoffice staff
$ k) F6 |/ v" x" v- Enforce FAVA’s standard of use policies where applicable

- Wage is $15.00 per hour, 35 hours per week

Qualifications: The ideal candidate will have: $ o/ Y& f/ ]" y5 T2 a' C1 Q
- A passionate interest in film, video and media arts
6 j& y7 x5 d7 D0 H- Advance skills in technical aspects of film and video equipment
N* ~3 B3 ]: x1 Q: K- Advance organizational and research skills
) ^, `! q: v& J, N- Advance skills of current trends in technology i.e. HD 5 J" P. V+ y- Z2 u+ z& q8 h
- Strong team player abilities
