FAVA is currently looking for a Film, Video & Media Arts Assistant to join the FAVA team for 12 weeks in the summer of 2009. FAVA is a non-profit, charitable organization

artists from Northern Alberta.

FAVA serves members with diverse backgrounds and levels of experience, ranging from 3 V) h+ ~0 B2 \* T
emerging, mid-range to established artists with an unwavering passion for film, video 7 X( N6 P2 K) W
and media art. FAVA offers: a variety of workshops for artistic and skill development; is a
. l9 D4 F' l' F& Qresource for production equipment and post-production facilities; hosts events and 8 E# e+ p9 z& g: _ G2 s! h
screenings; and fosters and develops a dynamic media arts community in Northern " L* l8 ^ H7 w) [8 G

?& h9 ]* E2 Z+ a8 ^& PJob Description: The Film, Video & Media Arts Assistant will report to the Executive # @ w4 [8 m( p9 s& q/ R
Director and work with the Production Coordinator and Maintenance Coordinator by - B- ^0 w% G1 _0 B6 N
assisting in the day-to-day operations of the Production Department.

- v6 R& K/ x3 _0 I3 d: H0 JDuties:
/ L2 R* m0 K* a2 T' o- Assist with research on acquisition grants ! r& m) ^$ u0 V! V$ U( A
- Assist with production and post-production gear and facilities
/ J$ W9 _2 j9 B: }: r' ^- Assist with equipment maintenance
2 K" y3 A& }; J+ [- Assist with production logistics for programming events
8 R9 v$ l1 ?# }& r( u3 X$ p- Assist with communication with members and interoffice staff
+ g0 y4 ]2 z0 p* a; \/ z5 V( e- Enforce FAVA’s standard of use policies where applicable $ C: p$ J" a; W! S! g
- Provide vacation relief

- Applicants must be unemployed and attending (or have recently completed) a post-

! x: b" f+ l7 K- P) w. Q& }- Wage is $15.00 per hour, 35 hours per week

- A passionate interest in film, video and media arts

- Advance skills of current trends in technology i.e. HD ! C: x, J8 ^1 E: F( t
- Strong team player abilities
