, f c0 \: U% W" ]FAVA is currently looking for a Film, Video & Media Arts Assistant to join the FAVA team for 12 weeks in the summer of 2009. FAVA is a non-profit, charitable organization

artists from Northern Alberta.

emerging, mid-range to established artists with an unwavering passion for film, video 5 O4 e, `8 s* i% w, J0 G
and media art. FAVA offers: a variety of workshops for artistic and skill development; is a
3 U% x" e& M) y2 m3 H, G* X" dresource for production equipment and post-production facilities; hosts events and
& H0 T4 w9 b1 f1 T* j1 d+ w! hscreenings; and fosters and develops a dynamic media arts community in Northern 2 W0 k( p# E) h' l4 u F1 r5 V

Job Description: The Film, Video & Media Arts Assistant will report to the Executive ( v3 b7 A- w5 p8 M% X; E6 r6 d& X9 @
Director and work with the Production Coordinator and Maintenance Coordinator by
+ \2 A1 q- ^ oassisting in the day-to-day operations of the Production Department.
% v2 L$ E+ e Z$ F$ A4 P 5 J: U& `5 X; t2 I! i+ c
Duties:
9 N' X {6 U: P3 y- Assist with research on acquisition grants
1 j' o* q: R; h: @" E- Assist with production and post-production gear and facilities 5 q) M$ o `6 k
- Assist with equipment maintenance / E) i' j z: H$ k# r5 R' H
- Assist with production logistics for programming events
* L1 R) e5 p6 P9 y, z. I% ^/ P. ?- Assist with communication with members and interoffice staff
$ s) R. H4 b A$ f, u; O1 l. C* o- Enforce FAVA’s standard of use policies where applicable $ B/ X5 A' P, h5 Z$ f0 l
- Provide vacation relief

- Applicants must be unemployed and attending (or have recently completed) a post-# q6 `4 m1 ?$ {* a O5 o5 d

- Wage is $15.00 per hour, 35 hours per week 8 ?9 I; c5 h% H8 S
- Length of position: 12 consecutive weeks

- Advance skills in technical aspects of film and video equipment
9 m7 M6 p, y$ c- Advance organizational and research skills
6 \. G9 M; c0 n8 }: ?" W- Advance skills of current trends in technology i.e. HD
! H/ G' d8 C' Y9 D4 v: u' P+ o- Strong team player abilities
