FAVA serves members with diverse backgrounds and levels of experience, ranging from

and media art. FAVA offers: a variety of workshops for artistic and skill development; is a
3 @0 I( q7 z+ k+ `0 W( W8 t8 u' _6 dresource for production equipment and post-production facilities; hosts events and ( _# e% B5 Q+ C$ y7 y9 \
screenings; and fosters and develops a dynamic media arts community in Northern

Job Description: The Film, Video & Media Arts Assistant will report to the Executive
, c* C: }) x6 ?( M4 u @8 z8 b6 u+ EDirector and work with the Production Coordinator and Maintenance Coordinator by W+ L0 x# O4 o A2 p* H1 O
assisting in the day-to-day operations of the Production Department.

5 I% _& V: q& U- Z4 |; y- Assist with research on acquisition grants . J2 L% L9 H d" [7 p% F
- Assist with production and post-production gear and facilities ; P# D; O9 M8 |, n1 J
- Assist with equipment maintenance * ~+ o8 P% C/ G' F: r1 u4 Z
- Assist with production logistics for programming events
- P- L4 \) M3 d# S, {, Z7 Q0 c- Assist with communication with members and interoffice staff 3 q( G- t& y' j; Z6 ]
- Enforce FAVA’s standard of use policies where applicable 8 s9 k! s' T2 _4 h/ V
- Provide vacation relief

- Length of position: 12 consecutive weeks

- A passionate interest in film, video and media arts 4 C+ c5 g6 m }
- Advance skills in technical aspects of film and video equipment

- Advance skills of current trends in technology i.e. HD

- Interest in working for an arts organization that is governed by a Board of Directors
