whose mandate is to support the production and exhibition of film, video and media

FAVA serves members with diverse backgrounds and levels of experience, ranging from

k0 P6 u V; S9 n+ O ^and media art. FAVA offers: a variety of workshops for artistic and skill development; is a ; [) m' v* _' g3 c/ b3 y, F
resource for production equipment and post-production facilities; hosts events and

Job Description: The Film, Video & Media Arts Assistant will report to the Executive 5 j/ c0 B" D; D8 u
Director and work with the Production Coordinator and Maintenance Coordinator by
: i8 {: j" f, [+ Uassisting in the day-to-day operations of the Production Department. 2 \* N u6 g! b; J9 V
1 o j1 Y& ], \% \Duties:
4 a9 g4 Q4 W4 b" D( _4 |, I/ U9 E- Assist with research on acquisition grants 2 W. L0 n* K- u: i+ |( s$ y
- Assist with production and post-production gear and facilities " v0 u5 l; a2 U/ |/ d* T
- Assist with equipment maintenance & |0 r: M6 W. ^+ t/ L8 W- `
- Assist with production logistics for programming events
B1 u2 q2 B6 }4 i& d- Assist with communication with members and interoffice staff & z: A) C8 ?; ^" k
- Enforce FAVA’s standard of use policies where applicable
0 p$ ^( j- _9 }( m0 r- Provide vacation relief : @& T1 X( @: k8 X

- Wage is $15.00 per hour, 35 hours per week

Qualifications: The ideal candidate will have:

- Advance skills in technical aspects of film and video equipment 0 S" `5 C# b; W1 N( I' E2 j7 z$ V
- Advance organizational and research skills w% L9 p7 s& t4 z7 R- Y
- Advance skills of current trends in technology i.e. HD
4 x$ B1 N0 ?* E0 x: y9 v- Strong team player abilities
6 e! v- W) B% b% F* {- Interest in working for an arts organization that is governed by a Board of Directors
