FAVA is currently looking for a Film, Video & Media Arts Assistant to join the FAVA team for 12 weeks in the summer of 2009. FAVA is a non-profit, charitable organization ! P5 U! z' A2 W6 a
whose mandate is to support the production and exhibition of film, video and media

FAVA serves members with diverse backgrounds and levels of experience, ranging from # l' f! ~) ^8 \4 e: Z) b# i$ [' a" p
emerging, mid-range to established artists with an unwavering passion for film, video
r( |: f7 @, A/ A2 L$ Vand media art. FAVA offers: a variety of workshops for artistic and skill development; is a
0 c9 D2 f; L8 E/ [! h* t2 I. Presource for production equipment and post-production facilities; hosts events and
% C+ e( M* Y9 Lscreenings; and fosters and develops a dynamic media arts community in Northern ! C$ |4 Z0 @; k* N7 t

Job Description: The Film, Video & Media Arts Assistant will report to the Executive
$ h, g3 d" j z9 i9 S6 DDirector and work with the Production Coordinator and Maintenance Coordinator by
% p, d- j$ [4 i* p4 R. `assisting in the day-to-day operations of the Production Department. 3 w# p7 ]* F' h4 ~0 e

- Assist with research on acquisition grants . I* @) V: D2 a- M* S0 ?5 N
- Assist with production and post-production gear and facilities
) p/ ?" [3 Q" c! v& Q' n- Assist with equipment maintenance 5 y& m; ~' s2 `: B
- Assist with production logistics for programming events
4 G f/ I* a# D q+ T- Assist with communication with members and interoffice staff " z% h+ s; R4 g- Q4 t
- Enforce FAVA’s standard of use policies where applicable

- A passionate interest in film, video and media arts

- Advance skills of current trends in technology i.e. HD . u5 L, f2 Z, n0 M* }' V

- Interest in working for an arts organization that is governed by a Board of Directors
