- i& d$ y M- s. S1 I$ i" EFAVA is currently looking for a Film, Video & Media Arts Assistant to join the FAVA team for 12 weeks in the summer of 2009. FAVA is a non-profit, charitable organization

FAVA serves members with diverse backgrounds and levels of experience, ranging from , V: T- Z6 q8 k0 P
emerging, mid-range to established artists with an unwavering passion for film, video
- t% ]3 g7 G6 v6 X) }and media art. FAVA offers: a variety of workshops for artistic and skill development; is a + F9 ?. C* K7 E$ e
resource for production equipment and post-production facilities; hosts events and ! V( e# r/ R z, ~2 o+ G
screenings; and fosters and develops a dynamic media arts community in Northern 0 k8 P% w( x" p" ~
Alberta.

Job Description: The Film, Video & Media Arts Assistant will report to the Executive
1 O! y4 _/ a* a# r$ GDirector and work with the Production Coordinator and Maintenance Coordinator by
4 [+ i" V* d' k0 Cassisting in the day-to-day operations of the Production Department.

/ U& y& [4 U2 J8 O+ w5 ~% S z9 GDuties:
' l6 k7 p. j0 A1 Y/ \! x% x, M- Assist with research on acquisition grants 8 ^; B& v1 S9 j* J! \ S
- Assist with production and post-production gear and facilities 9 ?+ b! r1 E* s
- Assist with equipment maintenance 9 m" M6 |4 V2 y$ \# J
- Assist with production logistics for programming events " f; S$ I0 m4 x
- Assist with communication with members and interoffice staff
! u9 _+ O$ u4 b/ l+ R s6 l, F- P$ Q- Enforce FAVA’s standard of use policies where applicable : m1 c5 x, _& O% b
- Provide vacation relief 1 Q0 n% i; R0 [/ U) n. r

- Wage is $15.00 per hour, 35 hours per week

Qualifications: The ideal candidate will have:

- Advance skills in technical aspects of film and video equipment
7 j6 E2 m; G7 {- Advance organizational and research skills
9 c, X* ]0 \' } C- Advance skills of current trends in technology i.e. HD
