$ f: x- V& g9 I) cFAVA is currently looking for a Film, Video & Media Arts Assistant to join the FAVA team for 12 weeks in the summer of 2009. FAVA is a non-profit, charitable organization 4 I* F( [+ g5 ~3 C9 N) i# F0 f
whose mandate is to support the production and exhibition of film, video and media

FAVA serves members with diverse backgrounds and levels of experience, ranging from
8 }4 M) c; X1 ~6 A. D9 Demerging, mid-range to established artists with an unwavering passion for film, video
1 v4 d( |0 m r* Y/ C! Y7 cand media art. FAVA offers: a variety of workshops for artistic and skill development; is a 6 H- O7 o- ^) I% c
resource for production equipment and post-production facilities; hosts events and # S0 D6 _4 G* ~8 m
screenings; and fosters and develops a dynamic media arts community in Northern 0 e: `1 j# A& G, \7 o* l

' C3 e4 p0 m3 sJob Description: The Film, Video & Media Arts Assistant will report to the Executive
9 [" l( u5 Q" n- wDirector and work with the Production Coordinator and Maintenance Coordinator by
' I4 t) `) a6 T6 @4 t% [& p5 l" Aassisting in the day-to-day operations of the Production Department. 9 k: o) j6 @. _# W7 @% g/ A' V
' s6 d, l. Y3 d" D- w& @" V
Duties: ; }" d C8 X* T& m, ~' {
- Assist with research on acquisition grants
& d% d* }- T2 B# C& n- Assist with production and post-production gear and facilities , ^; D. N4 j7 V) d% W" @+ v
- Assist with equipment maintenance 4 J: i( }1 S- A
- Assist with production logistics for programming events
2 y2 I f8 n+ i- Assist with communication with members and interoffice staff
& u6 ~: D* K. ]8 ^7 i/ M5 h5 `; u0 w- Enforce FAVA’s standard of use policies where applicable

- F3 n$ J( V& C" ^$ I- Wage is $15.00 per hour, 35 hours per week
& e1 N3 y0 Y( K0 h- Length of position: 12 consecutive weeks

Qualifications: The ideal candidate will have: 7 m5 L4 ^: ^" g" \* k
- A passionate interest in film, video and media arts
. \+ ]' L4 C& T- Advance skills in technical aspects of film and video equipment ) V* d S2 \$ r5 T6 V& Q
- Advance organizational and research skills
( m9 D: D% d) N( N/ S+ ]. S- Advance skills of current trends in technology i.e. HD
