2 _2 p/ i4 T! C! @FAVA is currently looking for a Film, Video & Media Arts Assistant to join the FAVA team for 12 weeks in the summer of 2009. FAVA is a non-profit, charitable organization ; j! w4 R7 e3 V K8 y
whose mandate is to support the production and exhibition of film, video and media

FAVA serves members with diverse backgrounds and levels of experience, ranging from

resource for production equipment and post-production facilities; hosts events and + f+ p% c( u) A( M3 T2 @
screenings; and fosters and develops a dynamic media arts community in Northern ( c7 {. f6 R5 `, X( c# L/ _1 q

1 [: L/ l) j, }; U1 HJob Description: The Film, Video & Media Arts Assistant will report to the Executive 3 \# J% {2 J% M5 {& s+ N( O: `
Director and work with the Production Coordinator and Maintenance Coordinator by
8 a# F: K+ |" C; o; V% oassisting in the day-to-day operations of the Production Department.

Duties:
6 \- t/ O/ p; G1 i6 s- Assist with research on acquisition grants
5 i: @) Y% r: A& |$ e7 p- Z- Assist with production and post-production gear and facilities 9 y) J' `; Y* e( j7 R
- Assist with equipment maintenance % y4 \* Y- Q8 [8 d: P& E; l) P
- Assist with production logistics for programming events
: ?' b+ U6 G$ y# o- Assist with communication with members and interoffice staff
$ z1 S5 y3 |) o- r+ @- Enforce FAVA’s standard of use policies where applicable
) p [% A, w; |4 B. v) i- Provide vacation relief ; T# \* z5 O8 X

- Applicants must be unemployed and attending (or have recently completed) a post-

- Wage is $15.00 per hour, 35 hours per week

- Advance skills in technical aspects of film and video equipment

- Advance skills of current trends in technology i.e. HD 9 Y' `( Q$ \, c, @) X3 Z! t8 R! `8 d
- Strong team player abilities 2 U3 y: c' H3 f
- Interest in working for an arts organization that is governed by a Board of Directors
