FAVA is currently looking for a Film, Video & Media Arts Assistant to join the FAVA team for 12 weeks in the summer of 2009. FAVA is a non-profit, charitable organization

FAVA serves members with diverse backgrounds and levels of experience, ranging from

: P I: X( I. v# v- ]/ Rand media art. FAVA offers: a variety of workshops for artistic and skill development; is a
, I P! \' u: e& K ?1 v+ p. Zresource for production equipment and post-production facilities; hosts events and
' I! A5 H' ?0 ?, @) O4 I( jscreenings; and fosters and develops a dynamic media arts community in Northern # D3 b9 k: Q2 W1 l0 g- b

Job Description: The Film, Video & Media Arts Assistant will report to the Executive + b! {3 Z* a. P% M( }
Director and work with the Production Coordinator and Maintenance Coordinator by
* I& U2 T/ e; Jassisting in the day-to-day operations of the Production Department.

$ \% y# ~* H( `6 Q8 uDuties:
a% X+ @1 `0 ]- Assist with research on acquisition grants ( B( \- O5 z1 H+ x/ f
- Assist with production and post-production gear and facilities 2 c) w8 \9 x/ @3 e6 ^) Y; N
- Assist with equipment maintenance # G* z$ g7 n( R3 m; ?+ c3 Y. `- K
- Assist with production logistics for programming events
1 h( B# F5 W( c+ l- N- Assist with communication with members and interoffice staff 4 |3 a: A3 g$ f+ O8 R* j* @
- Enforce FAVA’s standard of use policies where applicable

- Advance skills in technical aspects of film and video equipment
