0 u' n' I- v- n9 Y- HFAVA is currently looking for a Film, Video & Media Arts Assistant to join the FAVA team for 12 weeks in the summer of 2009. FAVA is a non-profit, charitable organization

& R; p& i) J7 }* Vartists from Northern Alberta.

FAVA serves members with diverse backgrounds and levels of experience, ranging from
( o, T3 H! {* t( G" wemerging, mid-range to established artists with an unwavering passion for film, video
3 X: O- R7 P! g7 P6 g6 b3 `and media art. FAVA offers: a variety of workshops for artistic and skill development; is a
9 z7 w# O7 ~) wresource for production equipment and post-production facilities; hosts events and
( U3 N) ]9 o% }5 Z& Q3 Sscreenings; and fosters and develops a dynamic media arts community in Northern

4 r) Y- |+ `: m' s) G5 v. uJob Description: The Film, Video & Media Arts Assistant will report to the Executive
2 H% K/ R. c9 T/ G* hDirector and work with the Production Coordinator and Maintenance Coordinator by
/ i7 z; [0 A+ `, R+ ?5 g% uassisting in the day-to-day operations of the Production Department. `% P0 F' q/ `6 h& }0 }5 _
/ V& ^# I4 ]( J# U3 fDuties:
( P) C) }; m7 Y- X, Q- Assist with research on acquisition grants 5 {: E0 j6 {' y4 `( ]
- Assist with production and post-production gear and facilities , v& H2 ~9 o- c1 }& ]7 ?# R
- Assist with equipment maintenance
0 j5 _7 r4 F" V" v0 K) r- Assist with production logistics for programming events 7 O4 z$ J+ i2 c6 c8 I. l
- Assist with communication with members and interoffice staff
& y! o a: y0 I; D- Enforce FAVA’s standard of use policies where applicable 5 b8 f& @8 Y o* e
- Provide vacation relief 8 C3 T# r; P# H: w4 u

- Length of position: 12 consecutive weeks

Qualifications: The ideal candidate will have:
4 }6 i a# o6 l/ J4 E- A passionate interest in film, video and media arts
; d& i, ^6 f) H- Advance skills in technical aspects of film and video equipment & ?2 C1 s* b# \3 J% X0 ]
- Advance organizational and research skills
/ \6 [& i, D6 T6 `+ C& ^- k) \; {- Advance skills of current trends in technology i.e. HD
( K. R$ k1 ?( F- Strong team player abilities 6 N# O. }1 I, [# i- O3 K. U2 x
