whose mandate is to support the production and exhibition of film, video and media 9 M( ]3 ]8 Y# g3 U' K

FAVA serves members with diverse backgrounds and levels of experience, ranging from 1 Z J" c, s; e2 X9 ]! @/ G
emerging, mid-range to established artists with an unwavering passion for film, video
' n' k/ _; a y t. m! Rand media art. FAVA offers: a variety of workshops for artistic and skill development; is a
( r4 R/ b' i2 q+ W0 eresource for production equipment and post-production facilities; hosts events and

Job Description: The Film, Video & Media Arts Assistant will report to the Executive
+ I% V4 ^! l4 M- [" O" t& D. uDirector and work with the Production Coordinator and Maintenance Coordinator by
) ~8 J$ k$ T0 g4 x Y$ nassisting in the day-to-day operations of the Production Department. q+ R1 k1 R# k3 d8 A4 R% J- w
& Q0 \ R2 a; | P4 u) ^( P9 m
Duties: , m. m! O& K) ~8 b# D3 b2 V, N
- Assist with research on acquisition grants
2 m. D7 K1 f! e: w3 g2 a1 |3 V: Y8 s' D- Assist with production and post-production gear and facilities
) c# w$ W" ?# A P; |1 Q6 c7 y- Assist with equipment maintenance
2 c9 F- d% w& Z0 o [6 J5 ]- Assist with production logistics for programming events
( p9 g6 f3 {5 N% D& T( t% Q- Assist with communication with members and interoffice staff 4 w. ?% ^/ K$ h' U' f
- Enforce FAVA’s standard of use policies where applicable

- Applicants must be unemployed and attending (or have recently completed) a post-" b$ y- i) Z. X/ q0 j
secondary training

Qualifications: The ideal candidate will have:

$ D g0 e* t1 N; q! o- ]- Advance skills in technical aspects of film and video equipment 9 E# m) H; [( |+ \' G& W1 t. j
- Advance organizational and research skills
% _( p2 m" @6 O9 h+ n- Advance skills of current trends in technology i.e. HD
- B# ]- x0 g1 t) e3 F- Strong team player abilities
