FAVA serves members with diverse backgrounds and levels of experience, ranging from
8 K4 l' x' o! V; C9 y& K/ Q( Memerging, mid-range to established artists with an unwavering passion for film, video r9 Z( T* J X0 m8 \
and media art. FAVA offers: a variety of workshops for artistic and skill development; is a
: D i5 F) j- v) Mresource for production equipment and post-production facilities; hosts events and
/ z' J5 f2 B: gscreenings; and fosters and develops a dynamic media arts community in Northern ! t9 f1 \- U* E/ d& X# W: b3 P: y
Alberta.

Job Description: The Film, Video & Media Arts Assistant will report to the Executive
9 j% K' \, l+ o* E4 G* ^Director and work with the Production Coordinator and Maintenance Coordinator by
* v! S5 c. Q7 Iassisting in the day-to-day operations of the Production Department. ) }( U* k: G7 p; e8 T8 B9 c% R. k

Duties:
. H1 K6 V7 q, @" }0 X- Assist with research on acquisition grants 2 a# j# ?5 B7 Q
- Assist with production and post-production gear and facilities
- f% Q- i, M5 s$ A* u: b+ U- Assist with equipment maintenance
- x! O+ y3 s, p p; f8 N& x- Assist with production logistics for programming events
" H3 \! O$ K7 [" ?" z2 W a& n$ {- Assist with communication with members and interoffice staff y% ^/ z! T- R% _
- Enforce FAVA’s standard of use policies where applicable

- Applicants must be unemployed and attending (or have recently completed) a post-0 x( Z' T; Y$ ^1 E5 l1 L7 f0 V3 j
secondary training

- Length of position: 12 consecutive weeks

- A passionate interest in film, video and media arts

- Advance skills of current trends in technology i.e. HD
