FAVA serves members with diverse backgrounds and levels of experience, ranging from " T& E. e9 f5 q, S( @
emerging, mid-range to established artists with an unwavering passion for film, video $ U" g T/ @/ b6 W: k
and media art. FAVA offers: a variety of workshops for artistic and skill development; is a
6 y- m! I! L5 J( H: V3 A5 Dresource for production equipment and post-production facilities; hosts events and - ^! d1 b! W3 u" v& \' Z4 k
screenings; and fosters and develops a dynamic media arts community in Northern 9 y s. H' e) a

Job Description: The Film, Video & Media Arts Assistant will report to the Executive
+ k( \& Q& [. i% LDirector and work with the Production Coordinator and Maintenance Coordinator by - G6 e: F& o3 a# {
assisting in the day-to-day operations of the Production Department.

5 _% P; N9 b+ ZDuties: ! A+ y3 I/ D* Y( ` A8 Z
- Assist with research on acquisition grants & l1 o+ k/ q; v, ^" ^0 N+ j
- Assist with production and post-production gear and facilities
6 t" Y, N1 }6 j$ ?0 g1 t- Assist with equipment maintenance 9 i* g! m7 a u4 C5 u6 W/ m
- Assist with production logistics for programming events 5 U3 S# o' V1 i% `
- Assist with communication with members and interoffice staff
) J: z+ i9 G4 Y5 e- Enforce FAVA’s standard of use policies where applicable ; b2 i' S! G5 I0 o$ s+ I( S
- Provide vacation relief

- Length of position: 12 consecutive weeks & h" T/ p( S: _3 e

- Advance skills in technical aspects of film and video equipment ) N- h1 j& \6 {/ h) U* Z* r
- Advance organizational and research skills ; F7 a/ q0 s6 A6 Q. e5 h6 h
- Advance skills of current trends in technology i.e. HD 4 |4 D, |9 ~1 r. o4 ^
- Strong team player abilities
! ~ A, _4 H+ `5 e$ N! V- Interest in working for an arts organization that is governed by a Board of Directors
