FAVA is currently looking for a Film, Video & Media Arts Assistant to join the FAVA team for 12 weeks in the summer of 2009. FAVA is a non-profit, charitable organization

FAVA serves members with diverse backgrounds and levels of experience, ranging from

3 k# U6 \/ U2 U" p" o& u+ C9 Xand media art. FAVA offers: a variety of workshops for artistic and skill development; is a

screenings; and fosters and develops a dynamic media arts community in Northern ' z. Y% w: O0 w$ a( Q

! E9 ^# S- R4 _! RJob Description: The Film, Video & Media Arts Assistant will report to the Executive $ V% |; P5 d7 G! Z
Director and work with the Production Coordinator and Maintenance Coordinator by { _+ r* F; k6 k
assisting in the day-to-day operations of the Production Department. 1 d2 Q- J6 j& t
; l* W: P9 D3 \8 ?2 r+ mDuties: / a% t6 n l/ {3 `8 [' O, O
- Assist with research on acquisition grants # ^3 J; Y, Z. m- q7 f- e! F4 e Z, \# n
- Assist with production and post-production gear and facilities ( w2 @" z+ {3 U' R3 M2 c
- Assist with equipment maintenance 2 ~# `" w! _7 q( `2 J6 L
- Assist with production logistics for programming events
3 j* F3 L/ D/ O4 a/ x7 j! S! T- Assist with communication with members and interoffice staff
: K" m& k% i7 g5 o3 O- Enforce FAVA’s standard of use policies where applicable . i( W+ I8 ~$ `, d9 W+ D$ C

- Wage is $15.00 per hour, 35 hours per week

Qualifications: The ideal candidate will have:
+ l$ o+ ]) R4 y- A passionate interest in film, video and media arts
b9 z7 k4 B, D4 ^1 i% Q- Advance skills in technical aspects of film and video equipment 5 v5 h7 _$ H. @7 _
- Advance organizational and research skills
! j. }( m* C/ M+ V! o, k6 j, f- Advance skills of current trends in technology i.e. HD ) W1 }' }' w# L; _7 T1 K- h
- Strong team player abilities 3 m6 _+ \9 {* \) A! f
- Interest in working for an arts organization that is governed by a Board of Directors
