artists from Northern Alberta.

FAVA serves members with diverse backgrounds and levels of experience, ranging from * n4 D1 D# R; L# Q8 w+ G
emerging, mid-range to established artists with an unwavering passion for film, video
/ X& [6 ]4 z4 band media art. FAVA offers: a variety of workshops for artistic and skill development; is a 8 y& @% Z' K0 L$ I
resource for production equipment and post-production facilities; hosts events and
" Q1 T# [9 ^3 J1 Hscreenings; and fosters and develops a dynamic media arts community in Northern

Job Description: The Film, Video & Media Arts Assistant will report to the Executive $ i3 c& V$ n2 z$ O& n7 ~
Director and work with the Production Coordinator and Maintenance Coordinator by 2 U* ?: j: U" R* Z d
assisting in the day-to-day operations of the Production Department. ( H$ L/ t: q) n2 B \* q6 c/ L
8 |, P% T8 ~& w* P5 e/ ]Duties: : J! t! X: s* I3 O, P, l
- Assist with research on acquisition grants
( H- s- |0 z* m2 i- g+ A2 V+ ]- Assist with production and post-production gear and facilities
+ K6 {5 f' y+ D6 n7 T- Assist with equipment maintenance ( ^) @+ h5 |. V! U& K5 b2 {$ E
- Assist with production logistics for programming events " Q, R& }" Z2 z$ J* u9 r" E
- Assist with communication with members and interoffice staff
" ?8 _3 T8 t5 t' |- Enforce FAVA’s standard of use policies where applicable 8 C# |) w0 R" F; P
- Provide vacation relief

- Wage is $15.00 per hour, 35 hours per week

Qualifications: The ideal candidate will have: # a; |: y9 U, z, k
- A passionate interest in film, video and media arts
/ z% n, H6 q4 s5 e" p- Advance skills in technical aspects of film and video equipment
7 m' m- i& D5 A- Advance organizational and research skills * I g' ?5 Z$ F
- Advance skills of current trends in technology i.e. HD : G2 S, @: C' ]! K" H
- Strong team player abilities & T6 C" @$ q- J" L5 B2 |
- Interest in working for an arts organization that is governed by a Board of Directors $ l# k r. g8 ]; A
