FAVA is currently looking for a Film, Video & Media Arts Assistant to join the FAVA team for 12 weeks in the summer of 2009. FAVA is a non-profit, charitable organization 4 j5 d7 G1 ?7 O6 x# Z0 k% c
whose mandate is to support the production and exhibition of film, video and media 8 `4 w8 y8 w' F9 W7 j8 i
artists from Northern Alberta. / A8 r0 A1 x3 J- p) g
) l7 O" f9 u* z$ u) L6 wFAVA serves members with diverse backgrounds and levels of experience, ranging from
' N& N/ I9 m: u: n% lemerging, mid-range to established artists with an unwavering passion for film, video " H1 G9 T0 }8 C, E
and media art. FAVA offers: a variety of workshops for artistic and skill development; is a
# \- {8 p4 V& C# S& n; b: c) Sresource for production equipment and post-production facilities; hosts events and # o P6 q, Q% o8 ^; C0 l* [+ L$ D
screenings; and fosters and develops a dynamic media arts community in Northern

Job Description: The Film, Video & Media Arts Assistant will report to the Executive * r% F1 u7 f1 Q5 ^
Director and work with the Production Coordinator and Maintenance Coordinator by 1 o9 Z. m7 @) k c! \2 v4 b
assisting in the day-to-day operations of the Production Department.

- Assist with research on acquisition grants
5 f8 b+ C) U( F1 F& `& D, B$ _/ y9 N A- Assist with production and post-production gear and facilities
( b9 [5 z4 J$ r# a2 x1 e- Assist with equipment maintenance
4 z: y5 W2 ]+ n, Y3 ?' Z! e- Assist with production logistics for programming events
" V7 s/ j% j$ |* g$ x8 Z+ E4 q* E8 a- Assist with communication with members and interoffice staff

- Advance skills in technical aspects of film and video equipment

- Advance skills of current trends in technology i.e. HD ! i3 z5 W) q' u" a0 D9 L
- Strong team player abilities
