% t- f8 Q2 `# _6 n0 S- IFAVA is currently looking for a Film, Video & Media Arts Assistant to join the FAVA team for 12 weeks in the summer of 2009. FAVA is a non-profit, charitable organization ' i3 b6 i& H, Q0 H: L
whose mandate is to support the production and exhibition of film, video and media

, r/ _$ [# B( xFAVA serves members with diverse backgrounds and levels of experience, ranging from - ~# Y! [! j% M+ a
emerging, mid-range to established artists with an unwavering passion for film, video 9 e5 N% N" J# P8 ~
and media art. FAVA offers: a variety of workshops for artistic and skill development; is a 1 W/ `: [* k+ z
resource for production equipment and post-production facilities; hosts events and
: G/ C( y' r& f/ P( z/ Q0 G7 N) [screenings; and fosters and develops a dynamic media arts community in Northern 4 E& @4 d$ E$ j7 ]

- C1 R+ L; M& D- EJob Description: The Film, Video & Media Arts Assistant will report to the Executive
! i! k' E' s5 c) K# V+ LDirector and work with the Production Coordinator and Maintenance Coordinator by

7 n, W( G W; _3 Y4 s8 Z- Assist with production and post-production gear and facilities # A+ p$ [3 q) N
- Assist with equipment maintenance
9 Z5 a8 Q, g5 x+ C/ S; k! Z3 v& Q/ p- Assist with production logistics for programming events 5 E% x0 o( w/ g
- Assist with communication with members and interoffice staff
' x5 x4 W( ~$ n+ p/ e S$ E: e- Enforce FAVA’s standard of use policies where applicable

- A passionate interest in film, video and media arts
8 e/ i' x, A. O- Advance skills in technical aspects of film and video equipment

- Advance skills of current trends in technology i.e. HD
7 H$ ^" g5 g: }, n" |( e2 R- Strong team player abilities
