FAVA is currently looking for a Film, Video & Media Arts Assistant to join the FAVA team for 12 weeks in the summer of 2009. FAVA is a non-profit, charitable organization
whose mandate is to support the production and exhibition of film, video and media
artists from Northern Alberta.

* _" w1 @" N6 ]FAVA serves members with diverse backgrounds and levels of experience, ranging from
emerging, mid-range to established artists with an unwavering passion for film, video
and media art. FAVA offers: a variety of workshops for artistic and skill development; is a
resource for production equipment and post-production facilities; hosts events and
screenings; and fosters and develops a dynamic media arts community in Northern

$ l4 s9 F0 g  l; ^0 AJob Description: The Film, Video & Media Arts Assistant will report to the Executive
Director and work with the Production Coordinator and Maintenance Coordinator by
assisting in the day-to-day operations of the Production Department.

- Assist with research on acquisition grants
- Assist with production and post-production gear and facilities
/ I* ~0 w* Y7 a- Assist with equipment maintenance
- Assist with production logistics for programming events
  m& k5 b0 R, L, e6 N9 u; g- Assist with communication with members and interoffice staff
7 X) P/ C) Q. f( z2 v( c- Enforce FAVA’s standard of use policies where applicable
- Provide vacation relief

3 s" z4 K; a; _; e- Funding for this position is partially provided by the Summer Temporary Employment
Program (STEP)

secondary training
- Wage is $15.00 per hour, 35 hours per week
- Length of position: 12 consecutive weeks

, B2 b5 k: d" P6 u- Advance skills in technical aspects of film and video equipment

- Advance skills of current trends in technology i.e. HD
