3 ~0 |: w' Y% G6 \. KFAVA is currently looking for a Film, Video & Media Arts Assistant to join the FAVA team for 12 weeks in the summer of 2009. FAVA is a non-profit, charitable organization 0 i5 N0 Y3 R1 ^
whose mandate is to support the production and exhibition of film, video and media 2 c" u- g% H/ m$ m, D
artists from Northern Alberta.

FAVA serves members with diverse backgrounds and levels of experience, ranging from : }- k& H/ q: z/ o& g4 m+ Z/ T
emerging, mid-range to established artists with an unwavering passion for film, video , }$ H" Q6 M8 ? ^0 [
and media art. FAVA offers: a variety of workshops for artistic and skill development; is a
* b" t* {6 B( ~( Bresource for production equipment and post-production facilities; hosts events and
) I+ ^* V" q1 Q& `( _/ s/ o* ]5 Zscreenings; and fosters and develops a dynamic media arts community in Northern

% Z0 O* h4 @# }Job Description: The Film, Video & Media Arts Assistant will report to the Executive
6 B. K/ p4 ^5 m( sDirector and work with the Production Coordinator and Maintenance Coordinator by
& O) g+ }5 J) m8 {/ [# q' R4 passisting in the day-to-day operations of the Production Department. / I. D4 r z+ X- c" u# m* w9 `$ L n

& Y7 S* k! K" B- Assist with research on acquisition grants R, D" G3 s+ J; [- ~
- Assist with production and post-production gear and facilities ' C: K1 O7 ?- D* e @" f, N' |
- Assist with equipment maintenance 1 \. g8 }- R: n! q/ }1 x) R
- Assist with production logistics for programming events + @' a( r3 i% l+ ^
- Assist with communication with members and interoffice staff - X1 k A/ I2 A7 G5 ~& I1 Z) i
- Enforce FAVA’s standard of use policies where applicable 8 ^6 q6 u4 C& Y. A a
- Provide vacation relief % E( e% [' ~4 K+ R* m

- Length of position: 12 consecutive weeks

Qualifications: The ideal candidate will have: 9 F( B$ X3 M1 \
- A passionate interest in film, video and media arts 0 p* ?8 L' N0 P. p
- Advance skills in technical aspects of film and video equipment
0 j9 h$ u& p5 s- Advance organizational and research skills 7 [+ C C6 L& ^* u; T
- Advance skills of current trends in technology i.e. HD
6 @8 z; ]; h! Q6 h/ c+ X/ g2 J- Strong team player abilities
