2 Z; v3 ?0 } E, pFAVA is currently looking for a Film, Video & Media Arts Assistant to join the FAVA team for 12 weeks in the summer of 2009. FAVA is a non-profit, charitable organization 1 b1 P }. f) b2 D; {
whose mandate is to support the production and exhibition of film, video and media

FAVA serves members with diverse backgrounds and levels of experience, ranging from 9 H$ s. f9 c2 M+ u% i$ _
emerging, mid-range to established artists with an unwavering passion for film, video % q) n, n7 Z, V& o
and media art. FAVA offers: a variety of workshops for artistic and skill development; is a
# f6 G% }& g; g& |9 ?: Bresource for production equipment and post-production facilities; hosts events and ~1 L' A n6 a
screenings; and fosters and develops a dynamic media arts community in Northern

Job Description: The Film, Video & Media Arts Assistant will report to the Executive
( v" B0 Z) {* T! `Director and work with the Production Coordinator and Maintenance Coordinator by ) w9 Y. B% s h/ J
assisting in the day-to-day operations of the Production Department.

- Assist with research on acquisition grants 1 S$ [& T0 |0 W: G3 r! {& h
- Assist with production and post-production gear and facilities 0 I+ O% s$ ~7 D
- Assist with equipment maintenance
7 l. } K/ v" U( a- Assist with production logistics for programming events : G! a) G7 E/ P/ u' p, S' H. s
- Assist with communication with members and interoffice staff " `$ {* H6 m2 h4 ]0 r
- Enforce FAVA’s standard of use policies where applicable

- Wage is $15.00 per hour, 35 hours per week 8 _$ y y. X1 D( C
- Length of position: 12 consecutive weeks - K" N! a: s( H

Qualifications: The ideal candidate will have:

- Advance skills in technical aspects of film and video equipment
* G% b. {" S) d; X' u% b& R- Advance organizational and research skills
' e5 y: ]2 S9 y8 ^, n% v- Advance skills of current trends in technology i.e. HD $ V2 z: E& s3 r A( U$ z+ d
- Strong team player abilities
