' v* p" `4 `0 j' \( FFAVA is currently looking for a Film, Video & Media Arts Assistant to join the FAVA team for 12 weeks in the summer of 2009. FAVA is a non-profit, charitable organization
, @9 B9 p! @7 ?. Y6 B9 O6 Rwhose mandate is to support the production and exhibition of film, video and media

FAVA serves members with diverse backgrounds and levels of experience, ranging from
7 N$ p" i, S1 O1 B/ u5 Iemerging, mid-range to established artists with an unwavering passion for film, video , K% ]- t2 F" z! I
and media art. FAVA offers: a variety of workshops for artistic and skill development; is a
" ~& `& y! _8 \, vresource for production equipment and post-production facilities; hosts events and H$ y/ w/ ?+ O( X' Z4 h
screenings; and fosters and develops a dynamic media arts community in Northern & [) |5 i, N$ ~( T% k& Y

# B' q# [0 b, N$ N, n2 wJob Description: The Film, Video & Media Arts Assistant will report to the Executive . F' C w, K1 n9 c1 k7 Y0 B
Director and work with the Production Coordinator and Maintenance Coordinator by
8 P( @7 p1 K$ j. ]4 Y% Rassisting in the day-to-day operations of the Production Department.

. b- U& u u8 e! c7 U5 f: h- Assist with research on acquisition grants 1 i4 u. m6 ~; U& ~3 V
- Assist with production and post-production gear and facilities 5 E; X* V. y) V1 b7 n2 A* x) v
- Assist with equipment maintenance + s* b; g# P2 U4 V2 J
- Assist with production logistics for programming events

- Length of position: 12 consecutive weeks

- Advance skills in technical aspects of film and video equipment

( l+ d9 B7 t8 \6 `! E2 m- Advance skills of current trends in technology i.e. HD ' I8 y2 L& p& N5 }# U
- Strong team player abilities : Z9 E" V" W# p
- Interest in working for an arts organization that is governed by a Board of Directors
