, `+ ]& B( C( d @2 E" }+ VFAVA is currently looking for a Film, Video & Media Arts Assistant to join the FAVA team for 12 weeks in the summer of 2009. FAVA is a non-profit, charitable organization

artists from Northern Alberta.

7 c9 c- U- q0 Q0 D* N9 H6 Femerging, mid-range to established artists with an unwavering passion for film, video
9 Q9 D0 \% S9 ^# L7 b/ iand media art. FAVA offers: a variety of workshops for artistic and skill development; is a
! q8 J6 N% W) @$ f: Z/ o3 \( Wresource for production equipment and post-production facilities; hosts events and
$ D8 {: T1 d' ^screenings; and fosters and develops a dynamic media arts community in Northern 5 U( G" m' r0 C* B7 `4 G& s0 D& a

$ g" S$ ^& @ e- x7 CJob Description: The Film, Video & Media Arts Assistant will report to the Executive
' |7 j6 Z$ y$ P, b# J' b# t* e9 y2 F: @/ oDirector and work with the Production Coordinator and Maintenance Coordinator by ( b; g. D: v5 T; b, g
assisting in the day-to-day operations of the Production Department.

Duties:
5 j9 i' O" o+ D) j- j- Assist with research on acquisition grants
' y7 ?6 G2 L' s" h- e- Assist with production and post-production gear and facilities : y/ N5 l/ U5 P5 @
- Assist with equipment maintenance 8 Y$ h9 u% m/ R6 m( D5 W" W
- Assist with production logistics for programming events 2 [. [. c& }% L3 H
- Assist with communication with members and interoffice staff ( W3 A0 C% {, N3 t1 y
- Enforce FAVA’s standard of use policies where applicable
; J# l4 U( V0 m: n+ q- Provide vacation relief - h$ r9 d5 Y, k# F

Program (STEP)

secondary training * W- l- P( A9 g# \- i; j7 m" Z, n
- Wage is $15.00 per hour, 35 hours per week

Qualifications: The ideal candidate will have:
$ x+ b2 n$ f8 P3 [ p- A passionate interest in film, video and media arts & ^ Z. t9 M( e5 \7 w h7 l4 E
- Advance skills in technical aspects of film and video equipment
3 O3 E$ J6 F. G8 S. P9 e+ b, h( c- Advance organizational and research skills
( C" W( U; |5 a! Q, g6 {- Advance skills of current trends in technology i.e. HD
3 m6 y5 q! C* M \$ Z$ V- Strong team player abilities
" B2 x3 g3 ?3 e( F# N+ d: w- Interest in working for an arts organization that is governed by a Board of Directors
