FAVA is currently looking for a Film, Video & Media Arts Assistant to join the FAVA team for 12 weeks in the summer of 2009. FAVA is a non-profit, charitable organization * h0 Q2 f# `3 K3 D3 }% Z
whose mandate is to support the production and exhibition of film, video and media

FAVA serves members with diverse backgrounds and levels of experience, ranging from : R% q0 O4 [1 w/ b- h( f- M
emerging, mid-range to established artists with an unwavering passion for film, video ( ]4 ^* x/ [, c7 e
and media art. FAVA offers: a variety of workshops for artistic and skill development; is a 7 v/ } y. B3 @% b0 n$ d
resource for production equipment and post-production facilities; hosts events and + X" p, e4 }0 Y1 C! }
screenings; and fosters and develops a dynamic media arts community in Northern 9 |8 m/ D! n7 Q) V

Director and work with the Production Coordinator and Maintenance Coordinator by
4 Y$ u2 v6 R* x7 L: v0 `% Q. D9 aassisting in the day-to-day operations of the Production Department. & V1 m9 x A9 a2 e+ P( Q6 H

Duties: 7 v3 n4 e# L1 a$ x2 {
- Assist with research on acquisition grants
\( @4 r& ~3 z$ y* r+ A/ v5 w- Assist with production and post-production gear and facilities
# o1 x/ J2 l; t+ L0 @) S- Assist with equipment maintenance
8 ?/ h0 J, P7 s, U2 ~( ~- Assist with production logistics for programming events 5 H+ F) C& G% g8 |1 T
- Assist with communication with members and interoffice staff

- Provide vacation relief

2 h/ M, @- t8 R5 K4 D3 Q- Wage is $15.00 per hour, 35 hours per week % m8 ^! {1 `" _! s1 M3 Y& ~% I
- Length of position: 12 consecutive weeks

Qualifications: The ideal candidate will have:

- Advance skills in technical aspects of film and video equipment / J, L) K# {4 V+ l5 b7 A% {
- Advance organizational and research skills
1 @% g5 i( A1 m+ ^7 k$ Z5 }; Y# L- Advance skills of current trends in technology i.e. HD . t% C* ]; B# X, g
- Strong team player abilities
! T8 ^, H, K& }( W# H2 D o+ G- Interest in working for an arts organization that is governed by a Board of Directors
