FAVA is currently looking for a Film, Video & Media Arts Assistant to join the FAVA team for 12 weeks in the summer of 2009. FAVA is a non-profit, charitable organization * e/ T: U4 o3 r
whose mandate is to support the production and exhibition of film, video and media ) C: t, L: z0 H, ~7 }) u
artists from Northern Alberta.

+ G& c5 [* j a0 S1 n& n2 Z9 E0 DJob Description: The Film, Video & Media Arts Assistant will report to the Executive 8 C& ^$ }$ \% p' h) v; L8 u9 s
Director and work with the Production Coordinator and Maintenance Coordinator by , |) n6 z7 y% S, N; Z0 K
assisting in the day-to-day operations of the Production Department. ! J* l: F$ | h- B6 _

Duties: & e* r6 e3 X W1 {
- Assist with research on acquisition grants # O# W I, v) D6 f4 n
- Assist with production and post-production gear and facilities
0 g6 b) F0 z& G/ f. w4 d- E8 z- Assist with equipment maintenance
; R4 v5 A$ U! p$ t- Assist with production logistics for programming events
, e- R: X' b# W4 D* |- Assist with communication with members and interoffice staff - S* ?4 g7 E4 N: N8 q: O p
- Enforce FAVA’s standard of use policies where applicable

- Length of position: 12 consecutive weeks

- A passionate interest in film, video and media arts

- Advance organizational and research skills

- Interest in working for an arts organization that is governed by a Board of Directors
