FAVA is currently looking for a Film, Video & Media Arts Assistant to join the FAVA team for 12 weeks in the summer of 2009. FAVA is a non-profit, charitable organization

FAVA serves members with diverse backgrounds and levels of experience, ranging from
# h* q9 z: n+ uemerging, mid-range to established artists with an unwavering passion for film, video # |, m6 o* O+ O7 ~
and media art. FAVA offers: a variety of workshops for artistic and skill development; is a ! M$ Z% M+ W" ]
resource for production equipment and post-production facilities; hosts events and

) e$ Y$ {* P8 A6 V/ C6 KJob Description: The Film, Video & Media Arts Assistant will report to the Executive ! d% U# \ D/ U# n$ N
Director and work with the Production Coordinator and Maintenance Coordinator by ; `8 f# i2 K7 \& D4 f5 T4 j
assisting in the day-to-day operations of the Production Department. . |/ ]8 T- v3 ]+ G) F/ a
$ G1 ?0 K. g2 n5 h! R
Duties: , a: ]* k6 ~: }+ B3 c
- Assist with research on acquisition grants
5 Q- h& _+ t* L. s4 B5 s- Assist with production and post-production gear and facilities
" r( K% x+ c) T4 W0 z9 B A- Assist with equipment maintenance ; k" q$ @& A) j
- Assist with production logistics for programming events $ h6 l! h R# @' [
- Assist with communication with members and interoffice staff 7 p/ r( m# d8 Z; B
- Enforce FAVA’s standard of use policies where applicable

- Funding for this position is partially provided by the Summer Temporary Employment

- Applicants must be unemployed and attending (or have recently completed) a post-8 e$ H! [4 z9 K3 B( h! x
secondary training ! X0 s8 d3 Q7 ~) @0 C9 ^
- Wage is $15.00 per hour, 35 hours per week
! K& r f7 @: @, l* }. ~# R* O9 \- Length of position: 12 consecutive weeks

- Advance skills of current trends in technology i.e. HD ' B7 x' F% {7 q" t

- Interest in working for an arts organization that is governed by a Board of Directors
