FAVA is currently looking for a Film, Video & Media Arts Assistant to join the FAVA team for 12 weeks in the summer of 2009. FAVA is a non-profit, charitable organization ' y; l9 L4 p$ l- y" V8 T
whose mandate is to support the production and exhibition of film, video and media

0 Q& m- j" z* cFAVA serves members with diverse backgrounds and levels of experience, ranging from
4 t4 K' I% p+ O2 v# Z7 W6 semerging, mid-range to established artists with an unwavering passion for film, video
( B+ \% p0 H$ q, Kand media art. FAVA offers: a variety of workshops for artistic and skill development; is a 2 `/ `) h" ~6 W* r O* I ~+ d/ `
resource for production equipment and post-production facilities; hosts events and ( x( |; T V$ [& U! D) K( I/ z

Job Description: The Film, Video & Media Arts Assistant will report to the Executive
- R/ }2 A3 ?1 y: Z, vDirector and work with the Production Coordinator and Maintenance Coordinator by
- m' n) X5 A: e: `9 H4 k& |assisting in the day-to-day operations of the Production Department.
/ b _# b! J# Y- d7 d; D% A & x6 v% v, H& G
Duties:
# H+ }: \. o* w- Assist with research on acquisition grants " Z0 R6 \/ F- l& f) { \
- Assist with production and post-production gear and facilities
- Z) [: k/ e8 a$ V- Assist with equipment maintenance
" s! u! c. _- d* U" ]% R- a8 _- Assist with production logistics for programming events % ^4 i0 }7 N, L8 Y N5 z# h- D
- Assist with communication with members and interoffice staff
6 S6 n/ P' Y4 q- Enforce FAVA’s standard of use policies where applicable - G' u, c/ m) j9 x9 o
- Provide vacation relief ( y; q3 U$ ~, C+ Y* E+ D* {# m4 x1 |

secondary training

- Length of position: 12 consecutive weeks
