8 D3 D3 x4 A3 D4 [; JFAVA is currently looking for a Film, Video & Media Arts Assistant to join the FAVA team for 12 weeks in the summer of 2009. FAVA is a non-profit, charitable organization ' t% v$ S7 I- G9 a! F
whose mandate is to support the production and exhibition of film, video and media 6 Q0 I9 ?& ^3 h* `0 x! k1 g
artists from Northern Alberta.

FAVA serves members with diverse backgrounds and levels of experience, ranging from ( q4 d4 a K2 ?# s1 [7 @5 \
emerging, mid-range to established artists with an unwavering passion for film, video 0 A# E: g0 u' e+ d: C
and media art. FAVA offers: a variety of workshops for artistic and skill development; is a
) O' {+ o0 X" Q. H5 F0 w& nresource for production equipment and post-production facilities; hosts events and " K0 y! g. `' |" q# h
screenings; and fosters and develops a dynamic media arts community in Northern 8 N7 d* K7 `5 Q. N9 g

+ M! W; w- a0 F' `: ]; L6 H& z7 J! TJob Description: The Film, Video & Media Arts Assistant will report to the Executive 6 V+ D! P8 l8 I7 H; G9 J' K: N, N
Director and work with the Production Coordinator and Maintenance Coordinator by
; Y+ J' M( y9 o4 B8 s6 X& o) |assisting in the day-to-day operations of the Production Department. : O0 G# ^ q8 F

Duties:
' ~9 z1 T& @$ u [1 K- Assist with research on acquisition grants
# A6 j" Y6 q# l: S4 O* b- Assist with production and post-production gear and facilities
1 K2 r- o! U: s! U$ B- Assist with equipment maintenance ) _+ C2 B9 A! o5 ~2 C
- Assist with production logistics for programming events
# ]7 p8 a! U" z- Assist with communication with members and interoffice staff 3 @! l5 E( m* L9 u! }
- Enforce FAVA’s standard of use policies where applicable - Q# G0 g( }' y/ J
- Provide vacation relief ; o4 h( _$ E8 ^

- A passionate interest in film, video and media arts
* t, p( Y( R* a7 y! W9 {- p- Advance skills in technical aspects of film and video equipment & J) v" l( H2 r$ O
- Advance organizational and research skills
! s' ?4 g8 ~) z1 |8 u- Advance skills of current trends in technology i.e. HD 8 i: H& Z' E+ u" o" _
- Strong team player abilities
