FAVA is currently looking for a Film, Video & Media Arts Assistant to join the FAVA team for 12 weeks in the summer of 2009. FAVA is a non-profit, charitable organization , S! t7 d+ \( q+ z7 i% z/ u+ n
whose mandate is to support the production and exhibition of film, video and media
) ^$ {% Z. q, U8 Xartists from Northern Alberta. ) l, m% e; ]( @* t9 s5 m A

FAVA serves members with diverse backgrounds and levels of experience, ranging from 6 D3 v, e; {% g) S; E. e6 x" N1 J& r
emerging, mid-range to established artists with an unwavering passion for film, video & z# b* B, D: A ^7 R( L. R# k
and media art. FAVA offers: a variety of workshops for artistic and skill development; is a 4 w8 U6 s# |. S5 | C7 I
resource for production equipment and post-production facilities; hosts events and

Job Description: The Film, Video & Media Arts Assistant will report to the Executive
# x+ }9 @' l; K* \6 @/ t. O) [Director and work with the Production Coordinator and Maintenance Coordinator by ; t5 |: N$ K1 m" s" q
assisting in the day-to-day operations of the Production Department.

' j1 C2 v+ \ h) P( d9 u( L! IDuties: 2 G, M4 \: [2 z. C; s
- Assist with research on acquisition grants
2 r7 I8 P+ `* p, f7 _- Assist with production and post-production gear and facilities
2 Q6 ^ z1 q( m" t( H- Assist with equipment maintenance
" w$ j+ Y# m1 ?4 |0 R8 ?6 o& s- Assist with production logistics for programming events ) F: ~& B2 @& w+ E& ]. c8 k0 d5 \) M
- Assist with communication with members and interoffice staff 6 }7 A: Z9 Z+ t
- Enforce FAVA’s standard of use policies where applicable ?5 a7 K# H" U& ?, n
- Provide vacation relief

- Wage is $15.00 per hour, 35 hours per week

Qualifications: The ideal candidate will have: # D# C8 E" u2 f& x" |- w4 V: l
- A passionate interest in film, video and media arts * T, }$ B0 ?. E9 C4 _7 q
- Advance skills in technical aspects of film and video equipment
3 k% s5 W& p* Z) m& A7 q! O( e- Advance organizational and research skills
* a& j; y/ e& {) h6 u0 t- Advance skills of current trends in technology i.e. HD
