7 ~; E b ]0 W3 L. x- KFAVA serves members with diverse backgrounds and levels of experience, ranging from 4 T& Q" |! i, @2 z+ n
emerging, mid-range to established artists with an unwavering passion for film, video ; p" O8 v2 m, v1 m2 n
and media art. FAVA offers: a variety of workshops for artistic and skill development; is a 6 C9 `( S7 T& |( {. K
resource for production equipment and post-production facilities; hosts events and 1 j/ T* T! n* H
screenings; and fosters and develops a dynamic media arts community in Northern

. a9 S' P9 ]5 HJob Description: The Film, Video & Media Arts Assistant will report to the Executive
: ?0 c% ^7 o& \9 _% y7 W8 A) {Director and work with the Production Coordinator and Maintenance Coordinator by
# z5 _3 ^; k) s6 C5 Q3 Q) Passisting in the day-to-day operations of the Production Department.

# H ~5 m7 i y, W6 K- Assist with research on acquisition grants - `5 `) Z; n9 h7 Z
- Assist with production and post-production gear and facilities 1 j& P X4 |1 }% p- k2 ?
- Assist with equipment maintenance : q4 D' }+ l, F% E2 B& X
- Assist with production logistics for programming events
' U. W: K6 N& f" Y9 M Y3 i! G* Y- Assist with communication with members and interoffice staff 1 m5 u0 ?! n/ U/ I4 P6 d
- Enforce FAVA’s standard of use policies where applicable $ a& i( p2 f2 {4 b0 Y, F

- Length of position: 12 consecutive weeks

Qualifications: The ideal candidate will have:
2 ?4 W/ I8 `+ U* s }- y: [- A passionate interest in film, video and media arts ( G. I. ^6 I2 D. k* f
- Advance skills in technical aspects of film and video equipment
; S8 Q1 i' d) X0 m& {2 U! O- Advance organizational and research skills 5 h; r( A$ H/ H8 Q8 J4 j
- Advance skills of current trends in technology i.e. HD . p/ ?; |2 w% l# P3 S+ J" s/ p3 `. k. f
- Strong team player abilities
7 t- N! b' N4 ^: L* }- Interest in working for an arts organization that is governed by a Board of Directors
