FAVA is currently looking for a Film, Video & Media Arts Assistant to join the FAVA team for 12 weeks in the summer of 2009. FAVA is a non-profit, charitable organization
) U2 p) r5 }7 t3 x, Iwhose mandate is to support the production and exhibition of film, video and media
8 d$ D7 b* @9 i. n5 O# `artists from Northern Alberta.

FAVA serves members with diverse backgrounds and levels of experience, ranging from
8 r0 U- [) D$ \7 W2 O6 o8 xemerging, mid-range to established artists with an unwavering passion for film, video + d& T1 f* B2 J, |! Z
and media art. FAVA offers: a variety of workshops for artistic and skill development; is a
2 w9 o8 Y2 D6 q- Cresource for production equipment and post-production facilities; hosts events and
4 z9 M7 h: K+ Fscreenings; and fosters and develops a dynamic media arts community in Northern , h! y5 g& Y' d u
Alberta.

Job Description: The Film, Video & Media Arts Assistant will report to the Executive
, f+ y8 ] J: P. k2 B8 z2 iDirector and work with the Production Coordinator and Maintenance Coordinator by 2 u" K% W) N. i6 V+ @
assisting in the day-to-day operations of the Production Department.

- Assist with research on acquisition grants ' m* S, g( h3 j1 T
- Assist with production and post-production gear and facilities 6 G, T2 H& ^1 A4 c; \ m$ g' a1 |6 T
- Assist with equipment maintenance ) N' t0 t( y0 n# v& d
- Assist with production logistics for programming events
, \( _% g5 `) z% u5 u' Y$ d- Assist with communication with members and interoffice staff 5 v4 u. @5 Q% I% H5 N0 V
- Enforce FAVA’s standard of use policies where applicable 0 X2 ~# G: F, c
- Provide vacation relief

- A passionate interest in film, video and media arts
