FAVA is currently looking for a Film, Video & Media Arts Assistant to join the FAVA team for 12 weeks in the summer of 2009. FAVA is a non-profit, charitable organization ( {' s" g1 x" H
whose mandate is to support the production and exhibition of film, video and media ; ?2 D+ H1 C A& x/ w
artists from Northern Alberta. ( D: \/ [4 r4 F* \

FAVA serves members with diverse backgrounds and levels of experience, ranging from u9 C. L0 h j6 T
emerging, mid-range to established artists with an unwavering passion for film, video 2 K; p/ _ G0 E3 W9 s6 J" z% e( t3 R
and media art. FAVA offers: a variety of workshops for artistic and skill development; is a 5 v& P C2 e8 F) W& I2 M4 ^7 T* P( y
resource for production equipment and post-production facilities; hosts events and
% h' \& n* _+ n5 Q. ?5 D6 Iscreenings; and fosters and develops a dynamic media arts community in Northern 2 O; v2 m) \; X, h1 s* e

) U# h6 {! d# `9 H X1 S% KJob Description: The Film, Video & Media Arts Assistant will report to the Executive
" i; O$ b, f1 F: nDirector and work with the Production Coordinator and Maintenance Coordinator by 5 {; u9 `0 _0 b# u+ g0 M
assisting in the day-to-day operations of the Production Department.

4 K, _2 y! ]9 O/ p0 ODuties:
/ h E2 T f( I' b# a( r- Assist with research on acquisition grants
) L5 \. i) J( N9 h0 W- Assist with production and post-production gear and facilities . Z5 ]$ P' P3 |0 j: N. Z
- Assist with equipment maintenance ) {" ` s. Z/ O$ [: {3 x
- Assist with production logistics for programming events 3 R y1 F% v$ f1 ? p+ C+ R( }
- Assist with communication with members and interoffice staff 2 F# t6 C; u7 u0 m) P' L6 r
- Enforce FAVA’s standard of use policies where applicable ' K! e( n8 r1 c1 T0 I' _, P% c) |# A

- Advance skills in technical aspects of film and video equipment
