2 Q% v( o, V; r2 `$ s h: W2 RFAVA is currently looking for a Film, Video & Media Arts Assistant to join the FAVA team for 12 weeks in the summer of 2009. FAVA is a non-profit, charitable organization
* R1 s. d' B' _) R& m; @5 V- kwhose mandate is to support the production and exhibition of film, video and media

FAVA serves members with diverse backgrounds and levels of experience, ranging from
( H5 P) |# f1 }% J' I4 demerging, mid-range to established artists with an unwavering passion for film, video * V; y& W! X, m. _5 k' j
and media art. FAVA offers: a variety of workshops for artistic and skill development; is a & T; T: @5 P1 a1 f' c
resource for production equipment and post-production facilities; hosts events and " O) o0 g' X0 P G+ J' ^
screenings; and fosters and develops a dynamic media arts community in Northern
( M$ [9 D B3 DAlberta. % u- P% l: d$ I' b! O; E
+ I/ l6 `& }! l4 D& J$ J+ xJob Description: The Film, Video & Media Arts Assistant will report to the Executive
9 O6 l6 x. I6 R4 w3 ^Director and work with the Production Coordinator and Maintenance Coordinator by
; x+ m$ y0 g0 ]5 _/ T3 rassisting in the day-to-day operations of the Production Department.

Duties: - E( j( `5 k6 o- [+ z
- Assist with research on acquisition grants
! i1 h# a. ?. g* E% F# i- Assist with production and post-production gear and facilities
' Z: N q8 J: Z- Assist with equipment maintenance
! Q1 \3 x8 W6 r0 a! w0 Z; q- Assist with production logistics for programming events & f4 W7 K2 l+ ]& f- c* e
- Assist with communication with members and interoffice staff
) b! q& Q* [! O' t O: E9 V- I- Z- Enforce FAVA’s standard of use policies where applicable / q* U4 A$ G" ^3 \ @
- Provide vacation relief

- Wage is $15.00 per hour, 35 hours per week & N" e8 p$ g- \9 a
- Length of position: 12 consecutive weeks

Qualifications: The ideal candidate will have: 5 I& T x! M% e1 m: Q8 s
- A passionate interest in film, video and media arts
! v3 E' J" k$ s0 P- Advance skills in technical aspects of film and video equipment & {, x; H- `1 H8 N+ L
- Advance organizational and research skills
( L# h! a% \) X- `' U% \7 R) N- X- Advance skills of current trends in technology i.e. HD 3 M" ^0 [1 `7 f( B6 z# I, H9 P8 M7 ~
- Strong team player abilities 5 ]- q. A% ^4 B, [# p* w" L
- Interest in working for an arts organization that is governed by a Board of Directors ! E* j! o! X1 `
