# w' o- ]. t9 h, s# q. mFAVA is currently looking for a Film, Video & Media Arts Assistant to join the FAVA team for 12 weeks in the summer of 2009. FAVA is a non-profit, charitable organization ; @5 X; Y! O7 d3 h R1 X. u, c
whose mandate is to support the production and exhibition of film, video and media 5 D3 ?4 `4 N1 [3 j
artists from Northern Alberta.

FAVA serves members with diverse backgrounds and levels of experience, ranging from
; @8 h$ Z8 I. h W3 c m' S s, Wemerging, mid-range to established artists with an unwavering passion for film, video 3 K% K q: J Z2 t0 {5 r
and media art. FAVA offers: a variety of workshops for artistic and skill development; is a & B$ b0 m% p; y& `/ ]& s" K
resource for production equipment and post-production facilities; hosts events and * B3 M# Z; D: |( q
screenings; and fosters and develops a dynamic media arts community in Northern 9 ~. I0 |5 x, S& J
Alberta.

5 U1 ~% V% H7 ?Job Description: The Film, Video & Media Arts Assistant will report to the Executive
s1 [ M( C$ z& F0 @1 O) @Director and work with the Production Coordinator and Maintenance Coordinator by
+ _+ ^' Z) } T; X' _assisting in the day-to-day operations of the Production Department. 9 k, l% \, M" j5 r+ y$ u

Duties: 6 o* X; h/ d6 z- b) Z/ l
- Assist with research on acquisition grants f4 B# \0 z2 x1 {
- Assist with production and post-production gear and facilities 4 L. \! U/ _. D+ a: S: A9 G! _
- Assist with equipment maintenance
9 X$ |2 K8 ?: b7 v) y* R; B- Assist with production logistics for programming events
, r+ U7 I/ \5 \! S3 p/ J- Assist with communication with members and interoffice staff 7 _6 m6 M3 |. y( v2 ?1 c1 U: q
- Enforce FAVA’s standard of use policies where applicable 3 I5 p5 C% @6 J Y5 b5 Y- q

- Wage is $15.00 per hour, 35 hours per week 1 T( Y5 i" m+ r
- Length of position: 12 consecutive weeks

- A passionate interest in film, video and media arts + m- m- K }/ c7 q9 [
- Advance skills in technical aspects of film and video equipment

; K2 V9 c$ s6 d- @: Y7 l( b- Advance skills of current trends in technology i.e. HD - G5 X% u& Q( s+ K/ J. D! Q' }( u

- Interest in working for an arts organization that is governed by a Board of Directors
