FAVA is currently looking for a Film, Video & Media Arts Assistant to join the FAVA team for 12 weeks in the summer of 2009. FAVA is a non-profit, charitable organization

8 S7 l+ ^! P' Y) dFAVA serves members with diverse backgrounds and levels of experience, ranging from
1 I0 N9 p; n; u* m* Zemerging, mid-range to established artists with an unwavering passion for film, video
) |* R! N3 l q3 ^" E j/ {- rand media art. FAVA offers: a variety of workshops for artistic and skill development; is a
$ Z" X! n0 q( H+ t) L1 ] J& xresource for production equipment and post-production facilities; hosts events and : _5 p: s, j x
screenings; and fosters and develops a dynamic media arts community in Northern 7 b& `# F2 a# S, x M

( w$ G v$ \. e W& BJob Description: The Film, Video & Media Arts Assistant will report to the Executive
) @/ A- j' c2 dDirector and work with the Production Coordinator and Maintenance Coordinator by : d: Q& l9 g5 E9 D( F7 B6 ]
assisting in the day-to-day operations of the Production Department. + v/ E2 M1 I/ X$ B' Y8 m+ @

Duties: $ v) a5 |* X# J* V7 @% n& z( A* L* m3 ]
- Assist with research on acquisition grants $ K7 K# X: }* e0 P4 ?% W3 N6 r+ o
- Assist with production and post-production gear and facilities
5 n) R: y7 }0 j6 i" w* f- Assist with equipment maintenance ' d3 O" P/ S. i1 y3 n8 H% u9 a
- Assist with production logistics for programming events
8 q& X& h. [4 t- Assist with communication with members and interoffice staff , ]! _5 j6 S: p7 y: I4 ]" f$ v
- Enforce FAVA’s standard of use policies where applicable 7 v6 \: m& K/ ]) ?/ ]' U
- Provide vacation relief

- Length of position: 12 consecutive weeks

- A passionate interest in film, video and media arts

- Advance skills of current trends in technology i.e. HD : A; Q; |$ C: a" V# o8 B
- Strong team player abilities
