FAVA is currently looking for a Film, Video & Media Arts Assistant to join the FAVA team for 12 weeks in the summer of 2009. FAVA is a non-profit, charitable organization " d) E E7 y- u2 J3 h. X
whose mandate is to support the production and exhibition of film, video and media ( m' h/ b6 ]7 o1 g$ w0 p* Q" R

FAVA serves members with diverse backgrounds and levels of experience, ranging from ~$ r4 c$ G+ r |9 C4 t) [
emerging, mid-range to established artists with an unwavering passion for film, video
! G* a, m5 Q/ qand media art. FAVA offers: a variety of workshops for artistic and skill development; is a
- T4 J& ] Y3 ]resource for production equipment and post-production facilities; hosts events and $ D1 t, {2 _' D4 ]: a* h
screenings; and fosters and develops a dynamic media arts community in Northern

Job Description: The Film, Video & Media Arts Assistant will report to the Executive
9 k& L# R/ T2 j' zDirector and work with the Production Coordinator and Maintenance Coordinator by 9 G5 \6 k5 ?8 `+ j) [. q( a
assisting in the day-to-day operations of the Production Department.

Duties: 8 \8 d8 [: Q2 J) F
- Assist with research on acquisition grants
9 t/ Y3 P$ J4 n( D4 {& q: Z) K- Assist with production and post-production gear and facilities 8 [. w+ ~( H3 {/ G" U1 {
- Assist with equipment maintenance " J% L" N/ B6 a; K" ~4 m" l2 \
- Assist with production logistics for programming events
8 E% K- y" ]; E( L/ O& {- Assist with communication with members and interoffice staff
- _6 r* _4 N( N6 q( j- Enforce FAVA’s standard of use policies where applicable
8 g) r2 w2 R2 r' w/ ]- Provide vacation relief

- Advance organizational and research skills * Q$ V: i9 U, e' |; o( b) F H J" Y# L
- Advance skills of current trends in technology i.e. HD 3 R& I: Z& o" T+ N
- Strong team player abilities
