whose mandate is to support the production and exhibition of film, video and media ! o# E- V9 U0 \9 X: M! F+ ~

FAVA serves members with diverse backgrounds and levels of experience, ranging from * Y1 G6 a t. Y! K) L
emerging, mid-range to established artists with an unwavering passion for film, video # l B! m, M& o: R: p* ^) ]4 h$ @
and media art. FAVA offers: a variety of workshops for artistic and skill development; is a ' Q) p% q+ m' G; o: v. {6 x
resource for production equipment and post-production facilities; hosts events and + f& ?5 b3 H4 b6 q( x
screenings; and fosters and develops a dynamic media arts community in Northern 4 A( h+ g; m* D2 [% B6 Z/ I

8 c6 |4 K: j- t' EJob Description: The Film, Video & Media Arts Assistant will report to the Executive
" t x8 y/ m ~' O& FDirector and work with the Production Coordinator and Maintenance Coordinator by
2 R$ G; ~' I9 hassisting in the day-to-day operations of the Production Department. / N' ?' G) b- g* s. H( o
& M9 H+ \" X# ^' w7 p( W" n0 U% D
Duties:
: T7 w$ g3 R( K( M0 h6 Q6 B- Assist with research on acquisition grants u0 y) W+ n' Z5 d% c' w) ^
- Assist with production and post-production gear and facilities
2 q7 ]) P' z g6 p2 X4 P- Assist with equipment maintenance
( R4 c, B* X! ~- S- Assist with production logistics for programming events
2 K( i' z& X" }) G8 k ?+ `- Assist with communication with members and interoffice staff ( E6 B/ |5 ~8 q5 d+ {+ _
- Enforce FAVA’s standard of use policies where applicable # e; s# V/ J+ r6 A3 S" z" G$ j5 n% o
- Provide vacation relief 7 a" b" E2 G# h

- A passionate interest in film, video and media arts
: k( a0 Z0 Q) D1 N- Advance skills in technical aspects of film and video equipment
- l# h; p+ [$ y# C- Advance organizational and research skills
' m" ^5 q, S3 p- Advance skills of current trends in technology i.e. HD / A* h9 g E1 h6 f" A+ g+ z
- Strong team player abilities
