FAVA is currently looking for a Film, Video & Media Arts Assistant to join the FAVA team for 12 weeks in the summer of 2009. FAVA is a non-profit, charitable organization
whose mandate is to support the production and exhibition of film, video and media
artists from Northern Alberta.

emerging, mid-range to established artists with an unwavering passion for film, video
; X4 F2 b4 o% Y+ t5 [( x3 oand media art. FAVA offers: a variety of workshops for artistic and skill development; is a
resource for production equipment and post-production facilities; hosts events and
screenings; and fosters and develops a dynamic media arts community in Northern
Alberta.

+ G& c5 [* j  a0 S1 n& n2 Z9 E0 DJob Description: The Film, Video & Media Arts Assistant will report to the Executive
Director and work with the Production Coordinator and Maintenance Coordinator by
assisting in the day-to-day operations of the Production Department.

Duties:
- Assist with research on acquisition grants
- Assist with production and post-production gear and facilities
0 g6 b) F0 z& G/ f. w4 d- E8 z- Assist with equipment maintenance
; R4 v5 A$ U! p$ t- Assist with production logistics for programming events
, e- R: X' b# W4 D* |- Assist with communication with members and interoffice staff
- Enforce FAVA’s standard of use policies where applicable
- ]$ z- Y% [  a* x" w7 V5 F- Provide vacation relief

8 ^. ~( Y$ K- q- Funding for this position is partially provided by the Summer Temporary Employment

) T. |, l$ n8 R& x& L- Applicants must be unemployed and attending (or have recently completed) a post-
secondary training
- Wage is $15.00 per hour, 35 hours per week
- Length of position: 12 consecutive weeks

- A passionate interest in film, video and media arts
) E$ u+ h& S( Y- Advance skills in technical aspects of film and video equipment
- Advance organizational and research skills
1 H0 i0 E9 y! }. r- H! B# W2 r- Advance skills of current trends in technology i.e. HD
! o; `2 Q6 h0 B, A. p" \4 q- Strong team player abilities
- Interest in working for an arts organization that is governed by a Board of Directors
