FAVA is currently looking for a Film, Video & Media Arts Assistant to join the FAVA team for 12 weeks in the summer of 2009. FAVA is a non-profit, charitable organization

FAVA serves members with diverse backgrounds and levels of experience, ranging from
+ k# ^+ I E2 f6 {( v: P; [( p2 aemerging, mid-range to established artists with an unwavering passion for film, video + y* n/ s% L' V% q# I/ J% q
and media art. FAVA offers: a variety of workshops for artistic and skill development; is a / ~" E8 ` X- j6 n. j
resource for production equipment and post-production facilities; hosts events and
e$ L/ Z& g& j Q: V9 vscreenings; and fosters and develops a dynamic media arts community in Northern 0 Y( z/ k/ h; }: ]9 ~9 U( |: x$ j

Job Description: The Film, Video & Media Arts Assistant will report to the Executive
; [% H- c1 s v- b1 `Director and work with the Production Coordinator and Maintenance Coordinator by ! x# u$ w* P5 q# K4 c" [: b
assisting in the day-to-day operations of the Production Department. / `% M" L2 h: i* i. h
2 U9 I: \0 _5 [& y h9 h4 c) U% SDuties: ; b _8 u, C" b" W7 j# U G
- Assist with research on acquisition grants & d& t4 u o+ b- r* B9 ~( ?* e8 _
- Assist with production and post-production gear and facilities $ _/ l c7 @; T, v' T! Y3 ]" M* o
- Assist with equipment maintenance
4 u# r: h0 @; M$ i% K1 K2 i- Assist with production logistics for programming events + s" G: }& J# j1 H; y
- Assist with communication with members and interoffice staff
8 i+ J+ ]. r$ ]3 z$ k) Q- Enforce FAVA’s standard of use policies where applicable

Qualifications: The ideal candidate will have:

7 y8 K+ D# J% Q6 J2 o- Advance skills in technical aspects of film and video equipment 0 `8 V" x$ F5 `/ t% U
- Advance organizational and research skills 2 Z: s8 X, M8 M. p% u
- Advance skills of current trends in technology i.e. HD
& q B% C6 M$ f- Strong team player abilities
9 N% \5 v& } @1 v- Interest in working for an arts organization that is governed by a Board of Directors
