FAVA is currently looking for a Film, Video & Media Arts Assistant to join the FAVA team for 12 weeks in the summer of 2009. FAVA is a non-profit, charitable organization # h7 L( P( T# z0 z4 Y% y
whose mandate is to support the production and exhibition of film, video and media

FAVA serves members with diverse backgrounds and levels of experience, ranging from
( k/ _; h4 t' Z# l& C7 X$ n0 b" Gemerging, mid-range to established artists with an unwavering passion for film, video
3 q% \% E+ ^6 u; @, e) H& [and media art. FAVA offers: a variety of workshops for artistic and skill development; is a 9 P" y( J5 x# E# f+ @& K0 `! \
resource for production equipment and post-production facilities; hosts events and
+ z8 \' W; J! B" p! ~screenings; and fosters and develops a dynamic media arts community in Northern 1 H7 F9 r& F5 q
Alberta.

Director and work with the Production Coordinator and Maintenance Coordinator by 3 e" L; |) [: @ S7 v4 \
assisting in the day-to-day operations of the Production Department. . M) u6 _ q* Z; r' x* e
. K# h$ j' h0 P) N8 b2 r9 G5 n2 U+ H: MDuties:
4 Q/ g! k* `; c8 m1 P G* _- Assist with research on acquisition grants + o ~# a0 W( L3 o) ]
- Assist with production and post-production gear and facilities
4 \! u) s: E2 w1 G, U9 v- Assist with equipment maintenance $ \" j j! p d
- Assist with production logistics for programming events 6 z0 {3 u( T4 i3 x3 S
- Assist with communication with members and interoffice staff
G( n$ f9 D0 o4 R; o: O- Enforce FAVA’s standard of use policies where applicable

- Applicants must be unemployed and attending (or have recently completed) a post-3 n1 t8 w0 n2 o7 @ C5 y! o
secondary training ! Y7 m& o: X$ J9 z* P$ `: ]; X
- Wage is $15.00 per hour, 35 hours per week

- A passionate interest in film, video and media arts

- Strong team player abilities
