* R" X- ?( Q0 y6 e& fFAVA is currently looking for a Film, Video & Media Arts Assistant to join the FAVA team for 12 weeks in the summer of 2009. FAVA is a non-profit, charitable organization

emerging, mid-range to established artists with an unwavering passion for film, video " u0 ^% f# i6 R$ D. y8 o, A
and media art. FAVA offers: a variety of workshops for artistic and skill development; is a / w6 U4 G- e& O# E& s
resource for production equipment and post-production facilities; hosts events and
, T6 g2 P1 R9 B2 _screenings; and fosters and develops a dynamic media arts community in Northern

Job Description: The Film, Video & Media Arts Assistant will report to the Executive 3 L9 z% f$ ]% I8 |- q
Director and work with the Production Coordinator and Maintenance Coordinator by 9 y% Z! l. m! W% `3 X
assisting in the day-to-day operations of the Production Department. ' U$ z6 a( P: s
( [' X9 x5 V: Q% _) D7 L
Duties:
2 m* }2 `4 P9 S- Assist with research on acquisition grants : y8 B* A9 Q; }
- Assist with production and post-production gear and facilities ) f. _/ [! t$ \7 k' D6 G
- Assist with equipment maintenance
/ ]# ~1 o7 V+ x% l, X2 t$ S8 C S- Assist with production logistics for programming events 8 m$ I5 w$ d& B- A) O9 J/ R
- Assist with communication with members and interoffice staff
' f8 z# X5 l( s+ b6 L: H. l7 ?- Enforce FAVA’s standard of use policies where applicable + `: o3 Z5 R( [+ P3 \1 ]
- Provide vacation relief

- Wage is $15.00 per hour, 35 hours per week |+ S# T+ D- `- q" R! x& h! f
- Length of position: 12 consecutive weeks

- A passionate interest in film, video and media arts , v/ _1 G; \- q/ g
- Advance skills in technical aspects of film and video equipment 1 u3 F6 J9 b0 h! B) P4 [& G
- Advance organizational and research skills
