FAVA is currently looking for a Film, Video & Media Arts Assistant to join the FAVA team for 12 weeks in the summer of 2009. FAVA is a non-profit, charitable organization
whose mandate is to support the production and exhibition of film, video and media
artists from Northern Alberta.

& H2 p" n* l6 Q; w8 _FAVA serves members with diverse backgrounds and levels of experience, ranging from
emerging, mid-range to established artists with an unwavering passion for film, video
0 S% J7 Z' O+ ~5 sand media art. FAVA offers: a variety of workshops for artistic and skill development; is a
( J  x8 H& M7 K1 {9 L- ~resource for production equipment and post-production facilities; hosts events and
screenings; and fosters and develops a dynamic media arts community in Northern
Alberta.

! x3 {5 l. n: l! h' X- j% nDirector and work with the Production Coordinator and Maintenance Coordinator by
assisting in the day-to-day operations of the Production Department.

; w6 x! I' g" S$ t- Assist with research on acquisition grants
- Assist with production and post-production gear and facilities
- Assist with equipment maintenance
- Assist with production logistics for programming events
+ w3 d+ c3 }0 x  V0 Q) `; [- Assist with communication with members and interoffice staff
- Enforce FAVA’s standard of use policies where applicable
- Provide vacation relief

Program (STEP)

- Wage is $15.00 per hour, 35 hours per week
- Length of position: 12 consecutive weeks

Qualifications: The ideal candidate will have:
- A passionate interest in film, video and media arts
- Advance skills in technical aspects of film and video equipment
- Advance organizational and research skills
7 b% O& d: g7 a. f1 u/ A% X- Advance skills of current trends in technology i.e. HD
- Strong team player abilities
; F$ T) s: Q3 @: l' U- Interest in working for an arts organization that is governed by a Board of Directors
