/ r, K8 w* W9 T k. ^2 yFAVA is currently looking for a Film, Video & Media Arts Assistant to join the FAVA team for 12 weeks in the summer of 2009. FAVA is a non-profit, charitable organization ; B. g7 t. I* J- {
whose mandate is to support the production and exhibition of film, video and media

FAVA serves members with diverse backgrounds and levels of experience, ranging from 5 ^& w2 l6 O2 O2 q/ y
emerging, mid-range to established artists with an unwavering passion for film, video & K' I }: {: c! \+ F6 N
and media art. FAVA offers: a variety of workshops for artistic and skill development; is a
% _5 {0 R$ f, xresource for production equipment and post-production facilities; hosts events and
* ^. X1 M, H3 Z% k8 `# Qscreenings; and fosters and develops a dynamic media arts community in Northern $ ^, F9 ^$ I. E. R/ w

Job Description: The Film, Video & Media Arts Assistant will report to the Executive 1 W* Z7 H& ~5 ~5 _+ k
Director and work with the Production Coordinator and Maintenance Coordinator by
, _, P' \1 W3 u' Zassisting in the day-to-day operations of the Production Department. 4 ~+ I+ z5 ]! @3 Q* A
, ~' I9 o2 U# [" k1 O" \
Duties:
' U3 j7 `* Q& b; Z! C# ?- Assist with research on acquisition grants ( p5 A- I$ a! i% S% i# S
- Assist with production and post-production gear and facilities 5 x/ ]. Y* `. i
- Assist with equipment maintenance
# C& S6 F/ s; s C% D8 M- Assist with production logistics for programming events 8 J8 h6 U, z/ i
- Assist with communication with members and interoffice staff
' F1 Y' `1 k6 y. A' X# Y- Enforce FAVA’s standard of use policies where applicable 2 \1 i3 m+ l" x8 n9 R
- Provide vacation relief

- Advance skills in technical aspects of film and video equipment : P2 Z; O5 g4 q' n0 Y* O
- Advance organizational and research skills , @3 y! a( r. d7 q
- Advance skills of current trends in technology i.e. HD 3 p: t s- l. ?7 r& e- s
- Strong team player abilities
