Position title: Community Development Worker

provide services for Chinese community0 | y# k! y3 ~
- workshops, seminars, activities that give Chinese population ; Q! W; A- _4 o! X: [6 @' E7 w
access to mainstream services r! K6 q) v) Y# X# Q
- fulfill needs that are not met in Chinese community in terms of ( D7 u6 r" B" q4 V' y* u0 `& m
social services
- X+ E) }/ {" _7 z7 q: G% s- develop good working relationships with mainstream and ethnic agencies
3 [" M6 x" c1 H/ m4 a% X- coordinate good will activities and send out quarterly newsletter to members, k( n) a# ]- g( |$ Q3 @2 x8 B
- update ASSIST website) v) a- L2 I7 t7 X5 t5 s
- demonstrate team spirit in achieving vision and objectives of Centre5 h% p+ I& E; s) ] \
- participate in external committees/conferences/workshops related to immigrant services9 _* }2 r) O6 o& u9 @% T
- assist with Centre’s other activities or programs as prescribed from time to time2 z" `2 o+ H! \- z# n
- update membership database1 N2 }* c6 v* _- `9 z0 J" s
- work flexible hours (including evenings, weekends as required)

Qualifications, [) w- }% g6 O( |
- degree/diploma in social/human sciences with 1 year of relevant experience or equivalent of
7 @$ V9 }) B% \& S experience and education
* W, a. j# ]- B/ {0 W8 D! m* G- good oral and written Chinese and English skills7 r; b0 p9 C0 e) A& G
- experience in community work and immigrant services
: f+ L; O. e+ O2 ]( Z( G) w. w- experience in website update/design9 ]% T- S, w! Z" T! D$ p" C+ e9 v
- Fluent in English, Chinese (Mandarin or Cantonese) is an asset& ]9 p$ i* d( x$ m& T; d( F `
