Summer Job Opportunity for Children’s Summer Program Coordinator, 2009

Responsibilities:
# o5 v% N1 k! U3 n; D3 E: P- Organize, plan, and facilitate the Children’s Summer Program

- Recruit volunteers for summer programs

- Provide orientation for parents" H; i% @% E% Q# O' X4 x- z5 t
- Prepare final end of summer report for funding agency5 B3 P/ M j9 k1 L, |
- Act according to the guidance or direction of the Senior Program Manager2 n+ l4 V# |, e. [0 s

Qualifications:, V0 n4 g$ {8 l0 C
- Post secondary student in Education, Social Sciences, Human Sciences, Early Childhood Development, Physical Education or equivalent of experience and education q3 Q1 c( y4 N- o7 M W
- Should have direct experience planning and delivering recreation programs to children
1 L/ m+ w# h1 J- d4 I. f' J- Good coordinating, communicating and interpersonal skills4 k9 S" S6 s* z
- Must enjoy sports and other athletic activities
# v5 w4 o. u- l* ]7 ]! o; D- Fluency in English and Chinese or Cantonese2 `) H8 V0 n0 `7 o# V; P
- Demonstrate strong leadership abilities
& M2 K3 O! X2 Z) X5 C% P- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision6 O9 N7 g) i* F9 J' D. Y6 [
- Returning student (should return to school after summer)$ m. [2 F9 c6 ~4 X! ^ n$ s
- Successful applicants must undergo security and child welfare check at own expense

- Hours of work: Monday to Friday from 9:00am to 5:00pm (35 hours/week) in May and June(planning) 7 g' |9 w3 j0 l8 D' c
and 8:30am to 4:30pm (35 hours/week) in July and August(summer camps); `0 {/ K* s |( g
- Employment term is May 11 to August 31, 2009) L) s8 [+ ^% x, W3 v

Salary
