* Conducts isotopic analysis of geological samples using Thermal Ionization Mass Spectrometry, including performing isotopic analysis of standard samples and control solutions to verify machine performance specifications3 q( K$ Q8 w0 i+ O- v
* Loads purified samples to filaments for analysis1 r+ S" m u6 I, w( W4 O
* Performs data entry and ensures quality control and quality assurance j0 \$ { l# Q; n2 V
* Coordinates instrument analysis schedules for Research Associates, Post Doctoral Fellows and Graduate Students : J3 S6 P. x" ^) v. }: u
* Provides general technical support and routine husbandry for the Mass Spectrometry Laboratory, including preparing filaments (welding and out gassing) for analysis for use by self and others; cleaning instrument components and conducting minor repairs/replacement of components; checking glassware and pipettes; orders consumables and supplies

Qualifications

* Technical Diploma required; a BSc is preferred
" ~: B4 h! n: Y( H8 _4 y * Minimum of one year of related experience in some aspect of analytical mass spectrometry is required
