8 X# a6 h6 T/ s* @8 ]% e * Conducts isotopic analysis of geological samples using Thermal Ionization Mass Spectrometry, including performing isotopic analysis of standard samples and control solutions to verify machine performance specifications
8 |1 k. C) r! j7 I$ Z * Loads purified samples to filaments for analysis& x4 H% n" L0 a* m: w$ o
* Performs data entry and ensures quality control and quality assurance
& p9 D6 y( I9 W4 \$ x* z& L * Coordinates instrument analysis schedules for Research Associates, Post Doctoral Fellows and Graduate Students
$ p! k( L7 Q' M * Provides general technical support and routine husbandry for the Mass Spectrometry Laboratory, including preparing filaments (welding and out gassing) for analysis for use by self and others; cleaning instrument components and conducting minor repairs/replacement of components; checking glassware and pipettes; orders consumables and supplies
- n, Z- ~* W; i) x * Delivers completed data to users; maintains instrument and safety logs
) [+ q+ a% ^* l i * Assists in the upkeep of safety procedures and information; completes routine checks on safety equipment

Qualifications

* Technical Diploma required; a BSc is preferred. ?0 |7 {" k/ O7 U ]. {
* Minimum of one year of related experience in some aspect of analytical mass spectrometry is required
