Duties
! S: d+ J3 s. e' X* N7 W. \$ F/ P* |5 {4 ^4 F L$ e4 b8 R8 h- U
* Conducts isotopic analysis of geological samples using Thermal Ionization Mass Spectrometry, including performing isotopic analysis of standard samples and control solutions to verify machine performance specifications0 z. [/ h) ]" X
* Loads purified samples to filaments for analysis( j! D$ ?# y7 i+ C8 O% u6 {
* Performs data entry and ensures quality control and quality assurance% J/ |2 h' H5 [! T6 \
* Coordinates instrument analysis schedules for Research Associates, Post Doctoral Fellows and Graduate Students
/ j: p7 X. k5 F0 R# V * Provides general technical support and routine husbandry for the Mass Spectrometry Laboratory, including preparing filaments (welding and out gassing) for analysis for use by self and others; cleaning instrument components and conducting minor repairs/replacement of components; checking glassware and pipettes; orders consumables and supplies
