A twelve-week training program for careers in Child Care.

The program includes the following elements:
! X7 p4 r" g' @: Z4 ^* i• Orientation Course for Child Care Staff (Level 1)2 a5 i( X+ Y' x5 G5 m# b) \
• Standard Child Care First Aid
7 @- G6 E: n# w• WHMIS
$ n/ y- u" N; }/ D1 m2 F7 f• Practical and theoretical modules relevant to child care( k: b' B, e* R% w; f* H
• Components to improve communication skills. }/ z* `7 J( K1 B: c7 X
• Modules on Work Place Culture and Work Search
- J3 f) V- l2 d+ E B/ r• Practicum Placements- q. e1 K4 D6 b' K
Eligibility Criteria
0 ~4 g" c% B; o4 X0 i: `• be a landed immigrant, convention refugee or new citizen- U) a7 I% v, s) D
of Canada
1 M5 h8 j3 f5 ]; v w: f( N• have a Social Insurance Number! n @ I S( D: ?7 z
• provide a completed criminal record check and child welfare check D2 `' {( l8 F z4 g
• CLBA score of at least 4 or completion of LINC 4 or equivalent
" Z5 L# y9 S0 _* r- f" }& c+ p9 n• demonstrate commitment to participating in a 12 week full-time

Participants may be eligible for Grant Funding if they meet, f+ K2 F$ z; S7 @7 M5 p
the following requirements, in addition to the one listed above:9 t/ k1 q# Y4 W5 _5 }7 q9 j" ?
• be unemployed or underemployed.
7 b: s6 \ V8 Y# J1 S8 WThey CANNOT quit their job to take the course9 e5 l" O/ @3 o( d- P5 v& z
• meet the financial eligibility criteria
