A twelve-week training program for careers in Child Care.# |9 t* k5 @% e; D
This program is designed to provide participants with the skills and! f( p/ U2 K+ B e
knowledge to help them succeed in entry-level child care positions.7 I: \6 }6 t3 t5 h2 _
The program includes the following elements:! v9 w7 W# A8 n/ O
• Orientation Course for Child Care Staff (Level 1)
) @% v3 i7 n9 r( v0 B6 M( r+ o• Standard Child Care First Aid
$ E( }6 s7 K: }) }: M8 H• WHMIS' f @$ W4 Z- V) J& t, @
• Practical and theoretical modules relevant to child care( v3 m: v6 s% D7 ?8 ?% E
• Components to improve communication skills$ O# j+ E) R5 Z7 l
• Modules on Work Place Culture and Work Search

Eligibility Criteria3 j+ q8 v% \; E4 |: l
• be a landed immigrant, convention refugee or new citizen% W# l& ~' L' g. I7 o7 u- X
of Canada
; u/ c! s! Z+ G3 e% [4 ~/ p% W+ B• have a Social Insurance Number/ J2 X% ?, g3 F: ^$ h- J U
• provide a completed criminal record check and child welfare check
- G* o' D9 r2 z; {& F• CLBA score of at least 4 or completion of LINC 4 or equivalent
4 U$ o# K" \) R6 G" P; x4 K c• demonstrate commitment to participating in a 12 week full-time( k j2 b- Y9 z& ~$ j7 Z5 o

Participants may be eligible for Grant Funding if they meet% i; v4 R9 _1 g! f* a
the following requirements, in addition to the one listed above:

They CANNOT quit their job to take the course
