A twelve-week training program for careers in Child Care.) B" D. a" C# q) \% c! ]! i+ I
This program is designed to provide participants with the skills and0 u& q$ I( Y; l# ?: C, A. V
knowledge to help them succeed in entry-level child care positions.

• Orientation Course for Child Care Staff (Level 1)) _6 ]+ {, l; s
• Standard Child Care First Aid% P! a3 m0 a6 X4 ]7 c7 x
• WHMIS
& F8 V* T3 g5 e( t) g$ Q( w• Practical and theoretical modules relevant to child care
8 G6 U1 {! S& f5 Q6 `8 M• Components to improve communication skills
3 h+ J5 O% p% W• Modules on Work Place Culture and Work Search4 F. ^1 Q3 [3 R4 h
• Practicum Placements. W2 u5 A6 a3 n- X/ R
Eligibility Criteria
) B- H+ q. _8 B4 w( h) U- a6 q• be a landed immigrant, convention refugee or new citizen' u1 }. ~8 ^$ P- ~7 `" \
of Canada
! @. ~1 @# O/ C* K• have a Social Insurance Number9 F+ y7 T p% X ~
• provide a completed criminal record check and child welfare check
( t! [7 D8 g7 n• CLBA score of at least 4 or completion of LINC 4 or equivalent
& R0 ]. W! b: k/ U+ r• demonstrate commitment to participating in a 12 week full-time

9 P( X4 ?% k% V/ D- \/ FParticipants may be eligible for Grant Funding if they meet3 W5 f1 Q2 T) c4 N- _- s0 l
the following requirements, in addition to the one listed above:1 O0 |2 e9 R! \- a
• be unemployed or underemployed.
