Payment and collection of health care premiums owed prior to January 1, 2009 will continue under these guidelines:

* T6 K. @3 e! W" }0 b- O2 Q' z 1. All Albertans are responsible to pay premiums unless they qualify for premium assistance, government-sponsored income support programs, or are senior citizens.
1 S! y7 J, t W: v/ u 2. Employers and benefit administrators who register and pay premiums on behalf of their employees will continue to do so.
# B4 C/ o* h# u4 V 3. Alberta Health and Wellness will continue to pursue collections from those who fail to pay premiums.) u( F9 V2 W8 }3 }% t
4. Contributors to Alberta Blue Cross or other supplementary insurance plans that provide prescription drug, dental, and other extended coverage, will still pay those premiums, as they have not been eliminated.
