Recently OPEC reduced crude oil production twice over just a few ) D% y' b6 v1 u/ R- d" p
months. There are three wars going on in Gaza, Iraq and Afghandistan.

least $50.00 per barrel. Today, oil price declined by a record amount. + J) B% b J, I

of so much news. These reasons are:

2. New natural gas has been found in Pennsylvania and West Virginia.

4 R" c, [1 w5 Kracing to produce bio fuels.

cattle, turkey and chicken processing plant will soon sell their fat , ?+ ]- G7 O' [3 L. [8 \
to bio-diesel producers. One pork processing plant in Oklahoma is ' B" t5 l8 w. H1 E$ n
producing 30,000 gallons of bio-diesel per day from pork fat.

construction around the world at this time. Several hundred more are

older equipment such as trucks, airplanes, train engines, ships, etc.

; r4 T& `& |4 f! z& S5 Hare experiencing 20% to 25% better fuel econony with the new

Airlines are flying airplanes with bio-fuel. They are finding the bio- " ~ A5 I* ^& ^: ^% m! X
fuel is cleaner and performs better than jet fuel.

8. Cities and counties throughout the US are selling the rights to ' Z6 s) B5 y/ g3 I1 r6 h( f
capture methane gas from landfills. This is a huge source of gas
4 Q8 P W1 z' ^. T4 B& _+ B$ ^available at very little cost or risk. The gas is displacing crude
% v v6 E# A' F x) N2 C' F- ^oil. $ c, W' k9 @& B. |& G; k
( j) B; X6 j0 i9 k+ w
+ z- e% j, _& T9 U) ]9. Coal is being transformed into a clean burning liquid fuel. The CO2 ' ~9 N* f9 \& t# A$ ?7 f! `$ F, Q: N
produced as a byproduct is sold to oil companies for injection into ) N* m$ m! ^/ p' P. @
oil wells.

10. Solar, wind and ocean energy is displacing oil as an energy 6 g" y: T0 q3 c2 J+ a* Z
source. Three new wind turbines are being erected every day in the US.

Each of the above by itself will not make a large difference in the
4 v" U- X2 J9 B( V, i$ Pprice of crude oil but the sum of all of them together is world 6 c8 \% p2 S1 q1 ^% f" B9 H0 ^3 k
changing. The important thing is that OPEC no longer has the ability & M8 C+ w3 g+ J5 z5 O" Y: S8 _
to control oil prices.
