Recently OPEC reduced crude oil production twice over just a few & v1 a' N5 A8 f$ D: P: S
months. There are three wars going on in Gaza, Iraq and Afghandistan. ) @/ ~/ x6 O+ A# v
A year ago these things would have spiked the price of crude oil by at
2 C4 ~. G" P% X& {% e( C/ _least $50.00 per barrel. Today, oil price declined by a record amount.

There are several reasons the price of oil is decreasing in the face 3 g" a2 O! @, d( K# L# G. w
of so much news. These reasons are:

" V4 E; p1 P; j" K2 _8 \8 ^1. New oil has been found in Canada, Montana, North & South Dakota and 0 R( m+ G' |( x& T2 [
in the ocean near Brazil. Each of these oil fields has more oil than

3. New methods of injecting CO2 and surfactants into oil wells is

4. Production of bio-fuels is beginning to reach critical mass. Bio

potential per acre in some cases is astounding. Many countries are 3 ^5 y0 O! \' P& r3 X* @
racing to produce bio fuels.

are now selling their used oil to bio-diesel producers. Every pork,
8 Z# o" o# q. y5 r/ i3 {cattle, turkey and chicken processing plant will soon sell their fat 4 {% }: j+ Y: E+ I9 d
to bio-diesel producers. One pork processing plant in Oklahoma is 3 _' R" u# M3 |8 e# t! C. ]% }
producing 30,000 gallons of bio-diesel per day from pork fat.

will replace oil.

older equipment such as trucks, airplanes, train engines, ships, etc.

Airlines are flying airplanes with bio-fuel. They are finding the bio- ; T; v" e2 ~ R, V: x$ W
fuel is cleaner and performs better than jet fuel.

/ c7 ~2 x) s! L4 v+ L, E0 y8. Cities and counties throughout the US are selling the rights to 1 V9 _, m* v; m. p9 H% ?3 E R5 o
capture methane gas from landfills. This is a huge source of gas
+ ~5 b4 C+ `8 e# K; [3 Ravailable at very little cost or risk. The gas is displacing crude 7 t- q, H3 c9 p( ~, S& a u
oil. 2 p' b( x. c+ P0 k5 a+ W

9. Coal is being transformed into a clean burning liquid fuel. The CO2 6 o) C \ E) U
produced as a byproduct is sold to oil companies for injection into
) m( F' l1 \' o( ]oil wells.

10. Solar, wind and ocean energy is displacing oil as an energy 7 B: u) T: ^5 a- z2 c% I, _
source. Three new wind turbines are being erected every day in the US. 8 l% C' u% o3 D! a% W

price of crude oil but the sum of all of them together is world ) R' j+ l4 P% W9 \
changing. The important thing is that OPEC no longer has the ability
