Recently OPEC reduced crude oil production twice over just a few
) E( R/ [9 l& hmonths. There are three wars going on in Gaza, Iraq and Afghandistan. / n) Y% s2 R" ` M4 P' t7 G; r8 u ^
A year ago these things would have spiked the price of crude oil by at
$ I$ `! H0 J o3 ^: u" Kleast $50.00 per barrel. Today, oil price declined by a record amount.

+ {& q7 Y) U: q7 rThere are several reasons the price of oil is decreasing in the face

1. New oil has been found in Canada, Montana, North & South Dakota and
X" r3 L) f9 D A5 I& B5 d9 e2 }in the ocean near Brazil. Each of these oil fields has more oil than + e$ m3 j7 d% P* b5 ~
Arabia. ; H- {' ]4 E* S! o' w" \0 @+ M

5 Z7 J" j" S+ q4 b5 r2. New natural gas has been found in Pennsylvania and West Virginia.

being used to double their output.

potential per acre in some cases is astounding. Many countries are 0 u7 } N1 n& w3 M; R+ I
racing to produce bio fuels. ) V" K: ^ m) [/ ^2 u' c' c, C

5. Virtually every restaurant in the US and all food processing plants + c* N# l/ ?/ M) D
are now selling their used oil to bio-diesel producers. Every pork,
6 s" x) G4 Q' u% g7 G$ @9 ecattle, turkey and chicken processing plant will soon sell their fat * e. W* ~, C; B1 X
to bio-diesel producers. One pork processing plant in Oklahoma is
8 c4 t' S d0 W, oproducing 30,000 gallons of bio-diesel per day from pork fat.

; Y" k; n, Z( y/ g& l' x6. There are 99 nuclear reactors in various stages of planning and 7 L4 F. ]* `6 _% @# M
construction around the world at this time. Several hundred more are , M8 z; _& t n7 I, M
expected to be built in the future. Much of the energy they produce p9 _1 a3 v. @1 G y
will replace oil. : F% ?$ r, P- u' L3 _

7. Every company in any form of transportaion business is replacing ( L' e! Y* R( m- }6 b; Q
older equipment such as trucks, airplanes, train engines, ships, etc.
( Q& V% \: @, H( J. \4 Zwith new more fuel efficient equipment. Airlines and railway companies 7 \! y- T' f% s+ C& K9 s; z$ M) v
are experiencing 20% to 25% better fuel econony with the new 1 C9 V0 x7 k$ M# m
equipment.

Airlines are flying airplanes with bio-fuel. They are finding the bio-

8. Cities and counties throughout the US are selling the rights to 4 |; y) R8 P! e' v
capture methane gas from landfills. This is a huge source of gas w/ H5 z q* g) `
available at very little cost or risk. The gas is displacing crude ) Q8 R# d N- U8 t5 K- }
oil.

9. Coal is being transformed into a clean burning liquid fuel. The CO2 3 ^: l# U9 N$ z8 v
produced as a byproduct is sold to oil companies for injection into

/ l6 s# ~( K5 e# A- [4 T10. Solar, wind and ocean energy is displacing oil as an energy
6 G# X4 Y( s. L' n3 hsource. Three new wind turbines are being erected every day in the US. ' O! C) S: C& p/ C' K

Each of the above by itself will not make a large difference in the / }, b+ y* e$ w& l! Q$ F; h+ F$ i9 b
price of crude oil but the sum of all of them together is world ; _( ?7 ]1 A2 {1 ?9 z
changing. The important thing is that OPEC no longer has the ability * [4 h. ^9 R! z
to control oil prices.
