Recently OPEC reduced crude oil production twice over just a few

A year ago these things would have spiked the price of crude oil by at / H9 i9 H. d; d7 z
least $50.00 per barrel. Today, oil price declined by a record amount. ! E9 |& ~ z7 ]5 t

6 _4 I: p. H/ H" I6 v" G; GThere are several reasons the price of oil is decreasing in the face

Arabia.

2. New natural gas has been found in Pennsylvania and West Virginia.

racing to produce bio fuels.

are now selling their used oil to bio-diesel producers. Every pork,

Airlines are flying airplanes with bio-fuel. They are finding the bio-
: ?( h8 f O zfuel is cleaner and performs better than jet fuel.

8. Cities and counties throughout the US are selling the rights to
' _+ O* p& T: w* }+ \capture methane gas from landfills. This is a huge source of gas . [) S& t' q; q1 X; S6 ?
available at very little cost or risk. The gas is displacing crude / E0 [# N/ r$ T) M- a
oil.

9. Coal is being transformed into a clean burning liquid fuel. The CO2 ; s5 q1 s$ M8 Y, k6 d: w% `4 H
produced as a byproduct is sold to oil companies for injection into

10. Solar, wind and ocean energy is displacing oil as an energy * e0 ?( [& k8 M4 o- A$ ~
source. Three new wind turbines are being erected every day in the US.

price of crude oil but the sum of all of them together is world % b6 p5 e+ l* I8 S% O
changing. The important thing is that OPEC no longer has the ability K- F* ?) C; d* s3 T* _+ s
