Recently OPEC reduced crude oil production twice over just a few $ A$ Q( B* F6 x; i
months. There are three wars going on in Gaza, Iraq and Afghandistan.

least $50.00 per barrel. Today, oil price declined by a record amount.

There are several reasons the price of oil is decreasing in the face , X \1 u6 z# Q5 q! H6 H: D
of so much news. These reasons are: ( V* \* S" p- }( @' U

1. New oil has been found in Canada, Montana, North & South Dakota and
& q7 S- j5 ~8 Y- tin the ocean near Brazil. Each of these oil fields has more oil than 4 C( v3 e5 N4 c: M
Arabia. 8 ?. C, v- d* J2 p& ?0 m$ G

2. New natural gas has been found in Pennsylvania and West Virginia.

potential per acre in some cases is astounding. Many countries are : d# ]8 W- L- g7 L. Y
racing to produce bio fuels.

are now selling their used oil to bio-diesel producers. Every pork,
' a- E* q0 O- D2 c& q, H' v: y) tcattle, turkey and chicken processing plant will soon sell their fat / V3 ?* q" V; ^
to bio-diesel producers. One pork processing plant in Oklahoma is
( D' I; _; ?6 v, Bproducing 30,000 gallons of bio-diesel per day from pork fat. 2 ^6 D* D8 Z5 T( \0 L

6. There are 99 nuclear reactors in various stages of planning and
% h( o f0 A7 Y! s4 Kconstruction around the world at this time. Several hundred more are . t8 w b' v/ z" G& E: k; `8 u
expected to be built in the future. Much of the energy they produce 8 ~; D* J$ Q% w/ _4 [$ C, h" O

older equipment such as trucks, airplanes, train engines, ships, etc.

equipment.

' @3 H: e% D0 C) A) c8 g3 jAirlines are flying airplanes with bio-fuel. They are finding the bio-
- q6 J1 ^" Q" k, U4 v: V* V; Dfuel is cleaner and performs better than jet fuel.

8. Cities and counties throughout the US are selling the rights to
( z8 |/ h! E! gcapture methane gas from landfills. This is a huge source of gas
3 S! d% F' M# g9 M' G% ?( ~available at very little cost or risk. The gas is displacing crude
# ]" z3 G: Z- u1 f5 M0 Poil.

9. Coal is being transformed into a clean burning liquid fuel. The CO2 ) z% u& f8 m+ H5 G3 S5 ?
produced as a byproduct is sold to oil companies for injection into
, V% N9 ^. @$ O$ a8 y; Doil wells. 4 @8 B# i( q- j- G1 \
8 w2 Y3 L$ U* S4 P- _' A
7 q8 q, E4 B. L6 Q1 k1 F! E, f10. Solar, wind and ocean energy is displacing oil as an energy
! V, d" u; s9 V( W) lsource. Three new wind turbines are being erected every day in the US. , X4 v1 E9 z% Y. ]9 u

Each of the above by itself will not make a large difference in the * f6 o1 Z( w) t
price of crude oil but the sum of all of them together is world 0 O( L% Q. K: E0 ?% J3 d3 n
changing. The important thing is that OPEC no longer has the ability 2 p' l d! i7 ~7 q% {5 g2 d
to control oil prices.
