Recently OPEC reduced crude oil production twice over just a few
* t8 ]) L* y/ l' H% I4 Jmonths. There are three wars going on in Gaza, Iraq and Afghandistan. & s" h/ }1 @* D6 E
A year ago these things would have spiked the price of crude oil by at # p6 F6 \, M: L: I9 ]6 ^
least $50.00 per barrel. Today, oil price declined by a record amount.

There are several reasons the price of oil is decreasing in the face / L+ c2 v( O9 m4 k& L

1. New oil has been found in Canada, Montana, North & South Dakota and

5 ]+ K9 M& F: B/ Y2. New natural gas has been found in Pennsylvania and West Virginia.

3. New methods of injecting CO2 and surfactants into oil wells is

4. Production of bio-fuels is beginning to reach critical mass. Bio

cattle, turkey and chicken processing plant will soon sell their fat & R) L1 U7 u0 Q( h1 B+ f1 j
to bio-diesel producers. One pork processing plant in Oklahoma is

6. There are 99 nuclear reactors in various stages of planning and

Airlines are flying airplanes with bio-fuel. They are finding the bio-

0 \% R/ N& D2 h* k" Z4 P8. Cities and counties throughout the US are selling the rights to

available at very little cost or risk. The gas is displacing crude 1 r! O4 J, c; H, V0 ^ p
oil.

9. Coal is being transformed into a clean burning liquid fuel. The CO2
( g j4 D& l; z- _" _produced as a byproduct is sold to oil companies for injection into

Each of the above by itself will not make a large difference in the

1 f Z4 T, _9 G9 ]6 W' cchanging. The important thing is that OPEC no longer has the ability
+ g) L0 k- U! q" \to control oil prices.
