crude prices improves. This implies also to good names such as Shell,

Recently OPEC reduced crude oil production twice over just a few 2 ~! H( R3 _- Z( m
months. There are three wars going on in Gaza, Iraq and Afghandistan.
5 A' w3 {; }4 w9 O* k c' l& d; YA year ago these things would have spiked the price of crude oil by at 3 N! d+ _1 C9 I, y6 Y' l5 ]
least $50.00 per barrel. Today, oil price declined by a record amount.

There are several reasons the price of oil is decreasing in the face : V v9 d, C% l) ]/ ~9 Y; `) U8 N
of so much news. These reasons are: & H6 H& E1 C9 a

1. New oil has been found in Canada, Montana, North & South Dakota and ( C+ d, t( a+ J7 Q
in the ocean near Brazil. Each of these oil fields has more oil than
# q5 [- L! \4 Y& m( k2 \Arabia. ' N G( c3 e' j! O7 a& T) n, z
- t z+ K( T+ y9 _. W- D/ Z: V( F/ R. t$ x( k
2. New natural gas has been found in Pennsylvania and West Virginia.
$ R( P! j+ w! e/ F! R6 RThis is the largest find in North America. 5 c3 E l6 a- Y
+ N% D2 D& T& Q/ N- z+ x/ G+ i/ ?

being used to double their output.

potential per acre in some cases is astounding. Many countries are

cattle, turkey and chicken processing plant will soon sell their fat 9 f1 L1 ] H3 }' m
to bio-diesel producers. One pork processing plant in Oklahoma is
* R9 ^& A6 J! |" ]" ?6 x, Tproducing 30,000 gallons of bio-diesel per day from pork fat.

5 H6 m; P0 w3 J( c& Z' l6. There are 99 nuclear reactors in various stages of planning and

with new more fuel efficient equipment. Airlines and railway companies 4 ^) `* m& ~- B$ Y
are experiencing 20% to 25% better fuel econony with the new

0 A. r" B, D' B( _Airlines are flying airplanes with bio-fuel. They are finding the bio- 1 B: ~5 I- B8 D8 }$ J
fuel is cleaner and performs better than jet fuel.

8. Cities and counties throughout the US are selling the rights to
$ a2 o# Y+ I: [$ [capture methane gas from landfills. This is a huge source of gas
) t& ]- g% Y9 lavailable at very little cost or risk. The gas is displacing crude
, Z) }$ x( x0 b$ \. n [oil.

$ A& g% L( H. K, M/ @# A. |9. Coal is being transformed into a clean burning liquid fuel. The CO2 9 W1 I" }9 q+ j6 U
produced as a byproduct is sold to oil companies for injection into

) S+ J# U2 H2 l" Y0 Q' ?5 Z8 E/ h9 l7 u6 O
2 s$ ?+ y: u4 _5 T10. Solar, wind and ocean energy is displacing oil as an energy
% O% L3 q6 Q4 t; a$ P+ {source. Three new wind turbines are being erected every day in the US.

Each of the above by itself will not make a large difference in the / {* _: U6 H: _- S( I% X1 ^3 Q" X Z
price of crude oil but the sum of all of them together is world # e$ \, ]4 ?1 H6 ~0 W
changing. The important thing is that OPEC no longer has the ability
