Recently OPEC reduced crude oil production twice over just a few

A year ago these things would have spiked the price of crude oil by at 1 k/ u: Y) b+ ]. r5 O
least $50.00 per barrel. Today, oil price declined by a record amount. . w5 t. D3 |( _' }

There are several reasons the price of oil is decreasing in the face
. k7 z; J3 y, D; k. Q& S8 Y3 l. jof so much news. These reasons are:

in the ocean near Brazil. Each of these oil fields has more oil than

2. New natural gas has been found in Pennsylvania and West Virginia.

being used to double their output.

are now selling their used oil to bio-diesel producers. Every pork, ' w* e/ _3 d8 s, w/ o
cattle, turkey and chicken processing plant will soon sell their fat $ X- u9 i3 t% W! t/ s8 D
to bio-diesel producers. One pork processing plant in Oklahoma is
& H+ U2 N9 W7 A/ Q% {3 m# n0 l! Sproducing 30,000 gallons of bio-diesel per day from pork fat.

are experiencing 20% to 25% better fuel econony with the new

3 E2 Y; l# i6 i( d& }4 L) wAirlines are flying airplanes with bio-fuel. They are finding the bio-

8. Cities and counties throughout the US are selling the rights to ; S# A* J, Z4 ^+ h) T; D) r6 L4 x( j% Y3 u
capture methane gas from landfills. This is a huge source of gas
5 Y! b8 ]+ z/ Y3 Y; D4 j" Kavailable at very little cost or risk. The gas is displacing crude * Q0 ~& Z9 b" F; Y4 n0 P
oil.

9. Coal is being transformed into a clean burning liquid fuel. The CO2 , J5 p" ^7 R0 s3 I% L2 \9 H: J6 Q7 Y. Y
produced as a byproduct is sold to oil companies for injection into ; Y* s1 h9 D5 \' b% \
oil wells. * ~* f( }8 x( W( D
