2 E, _3 h7 `9 O7 {' K% bRecently OPEC reduced crude oil production twice over just a few

A year ago these things would have spiked the price of crude oil by at - E. Q$ C+ K/ ?+ |% g
least $50.00 per barrel. Today, oil price declined by a record amount. ( S: E9 O9 O* f: V# q

There are several reasons the price of oil is decreasing in the face " I x9 g' L8 T r
of so much news. These reasons are:

- g n% t1 O% X1. New oil has been found in Canada, Montana, North & South Dakota and ! x0 x, x: Y6 d# G
in the ocean near Brazil. Each of these oil fields has more oil than / w6 D" u7 ^/ S! |3 ]1 K: ?- n
Arabia.

are now selling their used oil to bio-diesel producers. Every pork,
% u5 ?! X' p$ \cattle, turkey and chicken processing plant will soon sell their fat # R- x6 }4 l" ~- l5 v
to bio-diesel producers. One pork processing plant in Oklahoma is 0 g/ R: {9 @+ g' z; _6 y
producing 30,000 gallons of bio-diesel per day from pork fat.

will replace oil.

available at very little cost or risk. The gas is displacing crude ' L P5 W! g) ]# t" W+ d4 }" |

0 U4 b$ B; K/ i# G9 |7 y* `9. Coal is being transformed into a clean burning liquid fuel. The CO2
/ i2 B) S, Y# n* ^produced as a byproduct is sold to oil companies for injection into 5 A4 Z' }: N. ?9 ^- [
oil wells.

* y& z: A. ]: {' @# G10. Solar, wind and ocean energy is displacing oil as an energy ! w ~, `8 f* T) S* G$ n
source. Three new wind turbines are being erected every day in the US. ! G% _9 s" b$ O0 X

5 N. J! ^' ]' f1 NEach of the above by itself will not make a large difference in the
/ G! Q8 o, _0 K# @9 o1 I- {price of crude oil but the sum of all of them together is world 2 x: s% M# r. O; k/ E
changing. The important thing is that OPEC no longer has the ability % _" X" M$ \" X. E
