months. There are three wars going on in Gaza, Iraq and Afghandistan. & Q2 S( \. G' ]& J( B2 a
A year ago these things would have spiked the price of crude oil by at 9 X3 Q; M% B( M e" R/ o
least $50.00 per barrel. Today, oil price declined by a record amount.

There are several reasons the price of oil is decreasing in the face

1. New oil has been found in Canada, Montana, North & South Dakota and

2. New natural gas has been found in Pennsylvania and West Virginia. 4 w) G2 {! m/ H) V) O ^6 X9 s: N

5. Virtually every restaurant in the US and all food processing plants

cattle, turkey and chicken processing plant will soon sell their fat
7 V, o+ U8 t7 v; Zto bio-diesel producers. One pork processing plant in Oklahoma is
& ^- W0 Y% j, Y# i8 T/ l3 yproducing 30,000 gallons of bio-diesel per day from pork fat. * k J: }3 G! s' `5 ]

construction around the world at this time. Several hundred more are

7. Every company in any form of transportaion business is replacing

are experiencing 20% to 25% better fuel econony with the new 0 g- N: M3 ]' h1 f& ]
equipment.

/ N* d9 R1 X0 y- r4 a( g& D. o$ EAirlines are flying airplanes with bio-fuel. They are finding the bio-

8. Cities and counties throughout the US are selling the rights to
& u# q$ S F0 s/ M) g8 x* B; q( ccapture methane gas from landfills. This is a huge source of gas 8 H: P% k" p P
available at very little cost or risk. The gas is displacing crude - k# d( A: H: j/ B# X$ {. y% X
oil.

9. Coal is being transformed into a clean burning liquid fuel. The CO2
+ @4 d. i5 _0 S, a8 c% A9 C+ Q* }produced as a byproduct is sold to oil companies for injection into % k0 u) a' ]+ W6 E! C
oil wells. # W. m# N" }% e4 t1 B+ d

10. Solar, wind and ocean energy is displacing oil as an energy + S7 Y2 X: x5 G
source. Three new wind turbines are being erected every day in the US.

, @. y9 b* s+ q7 ^2 r+ ]Each of the above by itself will not make a large difference in the

changing. The important thing is that OPEC no longer has the ability # D. s5 s p; Y4 T
to control oil prices.
