Duties

& t: A2 v; s3 j! I6 e    * Develops,coordinates, and facilitates the Institute for Sexual Minority Studies and Services (iSMSS), Camp fYrefly sexual minority youth outreach program( ~! Q1 {% ?: T4 i/ l3 s
    * Coordinates Camp fYrefly's year-round educational programming, peer leadership training,and youth mentoring activities; P0 V; b" d4 X& O: M6 P! ]
    * Coordinates, develops and oversees the camp application, recruitment, and selection processes
0 \0 q" R6 J: h5 t& o    * Recruits, trains, and supervises volunteers who support the delivery of Camp fYrefly's annual summer youth leadership retreat
7 e6 U( O2 y( z* x4 g3 x1 Q, j    * Develops and solicits appropriate workshop and educational programming in consultation with a youth advisory committee and community stakeholders" T& r8 P& N, g
    * Liaises with the Assistant Director to set appropriate work priorities, action plans,and volunteer and program resource requirements
, a7 `- Z0 U% f3 N: i9 z5 N" d    * Works with the Assistant Director to plan, deliver and evaluate fundraising activities and donor recognition programs, B: A9 _+ ]/ U* M
    * Provides a year-end activities report and program evaluation to the Assistant Director: s9 ~3 X6 ]$ w$ @3 I
    * Serves as a resource person and liaises with the Assistant Director in budget planning
/ S3 S  t5 G" F* o$ E3 P    * Develops high quality promotional and educational materials; J) N7 G+ Q, A3 k
    * Develops and maintains relationships with local and national press and other relevant media
% h, E& f' O4 a8 \$ _( c0 y    * Creates and delivers community-based presentations on camp-related research and evaluation results
0 {/ x$ g/ z' k* U' O+ ?    * Provides support and advice on emerging LGBTTQ youth needs and trends to Institute personnel and partner agencies0 v* ]5 B" h* L- A& \7 O: W

9 i) Q5 E* P: s4 y- s) S7 c" ~    * Post Secondary diploma in a related discipline such as education, human services, community development or social sciences; Bachelor's degree in education, social work, psychology, or a related professional discipline preferred
  f: E3 ?3 U( j5 u    * Three to five years background experience in youth programming and/or community development with a particular emphasis on sexual minority youth
9 z1 c1 H) l& U    * Experience working with Aboriginal and ethnocultural communities an asset
$ u0 D# U* W+ B4 _- E    * Knowledge of violence and bullying prevention, harm reduction, and youth advocacy strategies: G- v8 M# q6 f
    * Demonstrated experience in the development of youth educational programming, community outreach, and conflict resolution skills
! ]6 b- ]5 F5 m$ ~    * Knowledge and experience in fund development, volunteer management, proposal writing, and special event planning
5 L0 C5 {' |9 H! s( d+ t5 Z1 ?. t    * Demonstrated skills in program/donor communication, development of information, education and communication material (including web-based documentation)  x# r- Q5 i* d% x. @
    * Excellent communication (oral and written) and analytical skills
