7 b, q4 ^% K( |& N8 Y2 B * Develops,coordinates, and facilitates the Institute for Sexual Minority Studies and Services (iSMSS), Camp fYrefly sexual minority youth outreach program% _/ D0 b- k1 ~5 R( ^" |
* Coordinates Camp fYrefly's year-round educational programming, peer leadership training,and youth mentoring activities
5 M; u; ^" g6 S- x2 ^1 [' T8 b * Coordinates, develops and oversees the camp application, recruitment, and selection processes
- u" z" T" u3 r: _; ~ * Recruits, trains, and supervises volunteers who support the delivery of Camp fYrefly's annual summer youth leadership retreat1 r2 }" k8 a( y) a4 \7 t
* Develops and solicits appropriate workshop and educational programming in consultation with a youth advisory committee and community stakeholders2 z' R! w: [1 Y8 T/ m4 A
* Liaises with the Assistant Director to set appropriate work priorities, action plans,and volunteer and program resource requirements
|& |( C8 _# \ ?0 Y' M8 l b * Works with the Assistant Director to plan, deliver and evaluate fundraising activities and donor recognition programs) a2 V, @/ a0 G! k3 J
* Provides a year-end activities report and program evaluation to the Assistant Director
! w; M1 e8 a* H, @ * Serves as a resource person and liaises with the Assistant Director in budget planning

5 O* ] l4 j0 p! A$ K! X$ B4 p * Develops and maintains relationships with local and national press and other relevant media

, q5 b; `0 C9 g* b6 w * Provides support and advice on emerging LGBTTQ youth needs and trends to Institute personnel and partner agencies

* Post Secondary diploma in a related discipline such as education, human services, community development or social sciences; Bachelor's degree in education, social work, psychology, or a related professional discipline preferred
. w5 I* |+ k7 Y7 k; ~' F( o * Three to five years background experience in youth programming and/or community development with a particular emphasis on sexual minority youth9 ]- }% r# S4 `
* Experience working with Aboriginal and ethnocultural communities an asset. }# P2 N6 c) o2 I
* Knowledge of violence and bullying prevention, harm reduction, and youth advocacy strategies" U: k* C. T: L- ?- B0 l
* Demonstrated experience in the development of youth educational programming, community outreach, and conflict resolution skills
" I' [) P0 Q) c+ C: m0 v, s' I * Knowledge and experience in fund development, volunteer management, proposal writing, and special event planning
