* Develops,coordinates, and facilitates the Institute for Sexual Minority Studies and Services (iSMSS), Camp fYrefly sexual minority youth outreach program
1 O; \) A' O5 a2 N7 n1 ~* z * Coordinates Camp fYrefly's year-round educational programming, peer leadership training,and youth mentoring activities
, O( g: R2 T) U4 ^2 }0 z * Coordinates, develops and oversees the camp application, recruitment, and selection processes
5 Q5 B* _, |4 j; p* w! `, N5 w * Recruits, trains, and supervises volunteers who support the delivery of Camp fYrefly's annual summer youth leadership retreat
. c+ W/ `9 [- D" Q% z2 J * Develops and solicits appropriate workshop and educational programming in consultation with a youth advisory committee and community stakeholders
5 _5 f8 [+ ?; l5 S8 g2 O7 q * Liaises with the Assistant Director to set appropriate work priorities, action plans,and volunteer and program resource requirements
/ V6 h+ ^ G9 K& S: f7 ? * Works with the Assistant Director to plan, deliver and evaluate fundraising activities and donor recognition programs9 t* n' P) i4 l1 i- {/ Q
* Provides a year-end activities report and program evaluation to the Assistant Director
" x# }% Z: I' f * Serves as a resource person and liaises with the Assistant Director in budget planning

* Develops and maintains relationships with local and national press and other relevant media

* Provides support and advice on emerging LGBTTQ youth needs and trends to Institute personnel and partner agencies* G; q3 V& F, J$ p

Qualifications

$ t Q6 |/ |9 y3 `# r1 _+ \9 m * Post Secondary diploma in a related discipline such as education, human services, community development or social sciences; Bachelor's degree in education, social work, psychology, or a related professional discipline preferred
. F. Y) }$ c$ a |3 ]0 s9 { * Three to five years background experience in youth programming and/or community development with a particular emphasis on sexual minority youth0 m$ m! v6 E& T6 p D6 v# S X& h+ ]( |
* Experience working with Aboriginal and ethnocultural communities an asset
) h5 u H2 C% H* S0 U* `0 W$ H9 e * Knowledge of violence and bullying prevention, harm reduction, and youth advocacy strategies
0 p) Z# {3 C8 { * Demonstrated experience in the development of youth educational programming, community outreach, and conflict resolution skills
. P( x0 I, Q7 \: q* e, ? * Knowledge and experience in fund development, volunteer management, proposal writing, and special event planning

* Excellent communication (oral and written) and analytical skills
