    * Develops, implements, monitors, and evaluates programs and services to address the unique educational and social needs of lesbian, gay, bisexual, trans-identified,two-spirited and queer (LGBTTQ) youth in the Edmonton region
    * Develops and delivers community-based programming and provides support services for Youth Understanding Youth, Edmonton's sexual minority community youth group
2 Z+ m$ M5 T# J" h4 a5 W    * Trains,motivates and supports volunteer adult facilitators
# L0 H+ N% x3 t2 R& x. k6 [+ Y5 i    * Acts as a resource on LGBTTQ youth issues for Institute staff, community, and governmental organizations
% e* x* ?( d4 x7 k- u" l    * Provides interim quarterly reports and an overall annual productivity report and evaluation to the Assistant Director
: A' t0 q2 M, N+ D' k    * Liaises with the Assistant Director in budget planning and management; monitors project related expenses
    * Advocates to meet the health, social and safety needs of LGBTTQ and questioning youth
    * Researches and develops a LGBTTQ youth mentoring program
% m3 J. f. g- ~+ f" b* S3 I  t: ^    * Develops, implements and monitors a LGBTTQ youth risk and needs assessment
    * Develops benchmarks to assist in the evaluation of YUY programming and outreach supports
# h$ ~/ q+ ^2 I; x3 G; ^    * Develops promotional materials such as posters, brochures, and displays to promote the youth group and mentoring programs
, \$ d; p/ t, ~$ ?8 q    * Participates in the development of leadership training and educational programming at Camp fYrefly
% }* ?$ p1 i" q0 {6 [7 L& U    * Supports University of Alberta campus organizations for sexual minority students and gay-straight student alliances in local high schools and communities
    * Develops a communications and advertising strategy targeting community agencies, youth groups/programs, and schools

Qualifications
2 H" ~- E# S9 ?  Z! E: b
; i, X/ E5 G* u0 Z. N    * Bachelor's degree in education, social work, psychology, or a related professional discipline
    * Three to five years experience in community development with a particular emphasis on sexual minority youth
+ [! B1 v2 W% s    * Knowledge in adolescent development, health and sex education, violence prevention,suicide intervention, alcohol and substance abuse, HIV and STI prevention and harm reduction strategies
    * Experience in developing and providing youth-oriented programs
    * Demonstrated effectiveness in working with the LGBTTQ community
* B& m! b0 }+ U/ T    * Fundraising skills an asset
+ s3 \+ V' G+ b7 Q4 n* F( |, x    * Demonstrated experience in development of youth group programming, community outreach,volunteer management and training and conflict resolution skills

' |0 Q# b3 @: z) [! N2 i    * Proven leadership, and strong team, and relationship building skills
    * Excellent communication (oral, written, and web-based), organizational and interpersonal skills
  |% s$ l9 M' M  J$ B- [    * Understanding of other languages and experiences working within Aboriginal and ethnocultural communities an asset
