    * Develops, implements, monitors, and evaluates programs and services to address the unique educational and social needs of lesbian, gay, bisexual, trans-identified,two-spirited and queer (LGBTTQ) youth in the Edmonton region
. {: F: k9 L) U! X9 R6 ]) \) B) i    * Develops and delivers community-based programming and provides support services for Youth Understanding Youth, Edmonton's sexual minority community youth group
    * Trains,motivates and supports volunteer adult facilitators
+ x% X3 B, O9 _5 k    * Acts as a resource on LGBTTQ youth issues for Institute staff, community, and governmental organizations
    * Provides interim quarterly reports and an overall annual productivity report and evaluation to the Assistant Director
    * Liaises with the Assistant Director in budget planning and management; monitors project related expenses
0 p- N; \2 ~3 b3 O0 Y    * Advocates to meet the health, social and safety needs of LGBTTQ and questioning youth

    * Develops benchmarks to assist in the evaluation of YUY programming and outreach supports
; w' [% {4 z$ Z$ D6 ~$ m- M1 q4 @    * Develops promotional materials such as posters, brochures, and displays to promote the youth group and mentoring programs
, ]4 R! A9 z8 }( W, y. N    * Participates in the development of leadership training and educational programming at Camp fYrefly
6 Y0 Z  w) @" Y9 m    * Supports University of Alberta campus organizations for sexual minority students and gay-straight student alliances in local high schools and communities
" N$ ]$ m; |7 B# F+ T    * Develops a communications and advertising strategy targeting community agencies, youth groups/programs, and schools

Qualifications
' \4 D! g$ V; r5 V+ Y6 \1 V
    * Bachelor's degree in education, social work, psychology, or a related professional discipline
6 \# Q; K7 E; D5 g* }0 D8 I    * Three to five years experience in community development with a particular emphasis on sexual minority youth
+ I: w5 r* {1 c$ r- w$ s3 |) X    * Knowledge in adolescent development, health and sex education, violence prevention,suicide intervention, alcohol and substance abuse, HIV and STI prevention and harm reduction strategies
    * Experience in developing and providing youth-oriented programs
( {  I4 m( Q% a% }, }    * Demonstrated effectiveness in working with the LGBTTQ community
    * Fundraising skills an asset
    * Demonstrated experience in development of youth group programming, community outreach,volunteer management and training and conflict resolution skills

7 G2 m' M; c# v$ ^4 c4 I5 c    * Proven leadership, and strong team, and relationship building skills
    * Excellent communication (oral, written, and web-based), organizational and interpersonal skills
" l8 D8 O9 a3 A$ R% B) x2 n6 x5 t    * Understanding of other languages and experiences working within Aboriginal and ethnocultural communities an asset
