* Develops, implements, monitors, and evaluates programs and services to address the unique educational and social needs of lesbian, gay, bisexual, trans-identified,two-spirited and queer (LGBTTQ) youth in the Edmonton region5 B( C1 L+ M1 b+ ]+ o1 E
* Develops and delivers community-based programming and provides support services for Youth Understanding Youth, Edmonton's sexual minority community youth group
2 Z+ m$ M5 T# J" h4 a5 W * Trains,motivates and supports volunteer adult facilitators
# L0 H+ N% x3 t2 R& x. k6 [+ Y5 i * Acts as a resource on LGBTTQ youth issues for Institute staff, community, and governmental organizations
% e* x* ?( d4 x7 k- u" l * Provides interim quarterly reports and an overall annual productivity report and evaluation to the Assistant Director
: A' t0 q2 M, N+ D' k * Liaises with the Assistant Director in budget planning and management; monitors project related expenses# g: _! a) |" i; d ]. P
* Advocates to meet the health, social and safety needs of LGBTTQ and questioning youth7 t# q }& `( S0 G1 [) q! A1 o
* Researches and develops a LGBTTQ youth mentoring program

* Develops benchmarks to assist in the evaluation of YUY programming and outreach supports
# h$ ~/ q+ ^2 I; x3 G; ^ * Develops promotional materials such as posters, brochures, and displays to promote the youth group and mentoring programs

Qualifications

; i, X/ E5 G* u0 Z. N * Bachelor's degree in education, social work, psychology, or a related professional discipline% B0 B9 v& v& A) c* ?
* Three to five years experience in community development with a particular emphasis on sexual minority youth
+ [! B1 v2 W% s * Knowledge in adolescent development, health and sex education, violence prevention,suicide intervention, alcohol and substance abuse, HIV and STI prevention and harm reduction strategies1 C) ^& Y. R/ Z7 N% b$ O
* Experience in developing and providing youth-oriented programs+ k% C. A* S5 U8 v- b
* Demonstrated effectiveness in working with the LGBTTQ community
* B& m! b0 }+ U/ T * Fundraising skills an asset
+ s3 \+ V' G+ b7 Q4 n* F( |, x * Demonstrated experience in development of youth group programming, community outreach,volunteer management and training and conflict resolution skills
