* Develops, implements, monitors, and evaluates programs and services to address the unique educational and social needs of lesbian, gay, bisexual, trans-identified,two-spirited and queer (LGBTTQ) youth in the Edmonton region
. {: F: k9 L) U! X9 R6 ]) \) B) i * Develops and delivers community-based programming and provides support services for Youth Understanding Youth, Edmonton's sexual minority community youth group+ S9 v; |% }8 a) @) F7 k$ a- A
* Trains,motivates and supports volunteer adult facilitators
+ x% X3 B, O9 _5 k * Acts as a resource on LGBTTQ youth issues for Institute staff, community, and governmental organizations. w3 Q$ _2 y8 g
* Provides interim quarterly reports and an overall annual productivity report and evaluation to the Assistant Director# @( ^2 Q' |9 l
* Liaises with the Assistant Director in budget planning and management; monitors project related expenses

* Develops benchmarks to assist in the evaluation of YUY programming and outreach supports

Qualifications
' \4 D! g$ V; r5 V+ Y6 \1 V& {$ b' j4 d- d, p8 ?0 y- M' u
* Bachelor's degree in education, social work, psychology, or a related professional discipline
6 \# Q; K7 E; D5 g* }0 D8 I * Three to five years experience in community development with a particular emphasis on sexual minority youth
+ I: w5 r* {1 c$ r- w$ s3 |) X * Knowledge in adolescent development, health and sex education, violence prevention,suicide intervention, alcohol and substance abuse, HIV and STI prevention and harm reduction strategies5 X" O8 b9 O+ t1 V* g' y- I E
* Experience in developing and providing youth-oriented programs
( { I4 m( Q% a% }, } * Demonstrated effectiveness in working with the LGBTTQ community2 q8 [8 r& B+ `$ y: K F- ?; x' R
* Fundraising skills an asset$ s6 X- W- h6 }* B* K' p! M7 o$ ]
* Demonstrated experience in development of youth group programming, community outreach,volunteer management and training and conflict resolution skills
