    * Develops, implements, monitors, and evaluates programs and services to address the unique educational and social needs of lesbian, gay, bisexual, trans-identified,two-spirited and queer (LGBTTQ) youth in the Edmonton region0 a7 k* D) u( b9 b! U0 J7 N' @0 {
    * Develops and delivers community-based programming and provides support services for Youth Understanding Youth, Edmonton's sexual minority community youth group- H1 ]* b  z8 K/ D* }
    * Trains,motivates and supports volunteer adult facilitators3 z+ s+ U: d# c7 D
    * Acts as a resource on LGBTTQ youth issues for Institute staff, community, and governmental organizations
. b0 S% {8 R# Y    * Provides interim quarterly reports and an overall annual productivity report and evaluation to the Assistant Director
% ]. I5 v; a% d* |    * Liaises with the Assistant Director in budget planning and management; monitors project related expenses& i8 |% Z5 ^" S& s
    * Advocates to meet the health, social and safety needs of LGBTTQ and questioning youth5 v4 n( z; z* j$ a0 U
    * Researches and develops a LGBTTQ youth mentoring program; q" t: D7 q% k7 p
    * Develops, implements and monitors a LGBTTQ youth risk and needs assessment
- z; k  [& Q( p, E: t1 u) J/ [    * Develops benchmarks to assist in the evaluation of YUY programming and outreach supports8 @% s0 k, v9 [; l! B8 t7 b' h
    * Develops promotional materials such as posters, brochures, and displays to promote the youth group and mentoring programs9 J* s6 z" K+ m" `; S1 P
    * Participates in the development of leadership training and educational programming at Camp fYrefly& p8 I$ s. p, |+ [, D- N
    * Supports University of Alberta campus organizations for sexual minority students and gay-straight student alliances in local high schools and communities* C+ e$ d0 \* T. h/ U9 o% c
    * Develops a communications and advertising strategy targeting community agencies, youth groups/programs, and schools9 \0 }& F: \' j# s+ j5 A1 Y

# C8 m) X- o7 ]( J/ h    * Bachelor's degree in education, social work, psychology, or a related professional discipline
5 T. U. `4 W4 v    * Three to five years experience in community development with a particular emphasis on sexual minority youth
/ ~' ^7 Z2 k+ R; u4 s- n8 }    * Knowledge in adolescent development, health and sex education, violence prevention,suicide intervention, alcohol and substance abuse, HIV and STI prevention and harm reduction strategies6 U8 C$ [$ i4 w
    * Experience in developing and providing youth-oriented programs, o" [5 w- n. {5 H9 E' b
    * Demonstrated effectiveness in working with the LGBTTQ community
' P# p" R# c. A4 q2 g' i( ~" V& s; U    * Fundraising skills an asset( z& K$ [2 O6 d  _" O3 b0 ^, E
    * Demonstrated experience in development of youth group programming, community outreach,volunteer management and training and conflict resolution skills
