    * Develops, implements, monitors, and evaluates programs and services to address the unique educational and social needs of lesbian, gay, bisexual, trans-identified,two-spirited and queer (LGBTTQ) youth in the Edmonton region
0 f$ g2 j6 Q& K) {# A7 Z    * Develops and delivers community-based programming and provides support services for Youth Understanding Youth, Edmonton's sexual minority community youth group
7 L! o5 J' V  [! [    * Trains,motivates and supports volunteer adult facilitators
( F) _" Y3 V, N% ~* I, g" A. D* }    * Acts as a resource on LGBTTQ youth issues for Institute staff, community, and governmental organizations
% y% F% g; M! R& H$ H$ G    * Provides interim quarterly reports and an overall annual productivity report and evaluation to the Assistant Director8 v( k' V5 h6 k- p0 T
    * Liaises with the Assistant Director in budget planning and management; monitors project related expenses9 F4 e5 u2 b4 [2 i9 a- N0 Y$ d& G
    * Advocates to meet the health, social and safety needs of LGBTTQ and questioning youth0 @  K  I1 Y  r- p8 |. U, e- m
    * Researches and develops a LGBTTQ youth mentoring program) u: b  B9 e% r# g
    * Develops, implements and monitors a LGBTTQ youth risk and needs assessment3 C5 n' v" p' H3 v/ `# Y, w
    * Develops benchmarks to assist in the evaluation of YUY programming and outreach supports; [% T: A% c0 C1 r$ S
    * Develops promotional materials such as posters, brochures, and displays to promote the youth group and mentoring programs! p) f' ^) `- N: N; `, k
    * Participates in the development of leadership training and educational programming at Camp fYrefly. |0 O0 U: j0 y( z
    * Supports University of Alberta campus organizations for sexual minority students and gay-straight student alliances in local high schools and communities

Qualifications
8 o/ X) ?  ?4 f0 @4 ^
$ ^$ g( ]: m2 l  Z* t" c    * Bachelor's degree in education, social work, psychology, or a related professional discipline
1 f, ?! Z( ^; J/ c' b    * Three to five years experience in community development with a particular emphasis on sexual minority youth
) @1 I" o0 `" g! V+ y    * Knowledge in adolescent development, health and sex education, violence prevention,suicide intervention, alcohol and substance abuse, HIV and STI prevention and harm reduction strategies
, m6 h3 ]# a, w6 L; l    * Experience in developing and providing youth-oriented programs: r: G- S4 i1 v  `
    * Demonstrated effectiveness in working with the LGBTTQ community
6 G. L4 |; Y; t0 h    * Fundraising skills an asset
4 T9 c% _) s" [- v    * Demonstrated experience in development of youth group programming, community outreach,volunteer management and training and conflict resolution skills

    * Proven leadership, and strong team, and relationship building skills
