    * Develops, implements, monitors, and evaluates programs and services to address the unique educational and social needs of lesbian, gay, bisexual, trans-identified,two-spirited and queer (LGBTTQ) youth in the Edmonton region6 L& ?- [& ?, I! W1 n0 r
    * Develops and delivers community-based programming and provides support services for Youth Understanding Youth, Edmonton's sexual minority community youth group0 Q! A/ `4 H7 ]. M: M. l1 x6 {
    * Trains,motivates and supports volunteer adult facilitators1 u7 B' t! T/ q! Y
    * Acts as a resource on LGBTTQ youth issues for Institute staff, community, and governmental organizations
1 G% Q! S& r) G. Q2 L6 k% d    * Provides interim quarterly reports and an overall annual productivity report and evaluation to the Assistant Director5 S; r- h7 \" n  v! e
    * Liaises with the Assistant Director in budget planning and management; monitors project related expenses
% G1 `9 Q0 H! j/ r# y    * Advocates to meet the health, social and safety needs of LGBTTQ and questioning youth
$ w7 F- u4 d6 w6 J( Y    * Researches and develops a LGBTTQ youth mentoring program
+ e) F  ?# i/ @: F; m, ~- P5 `    * Develops, implements and monitors a LGBTTQ youth risk and needs assessment
! q6 x& b% ]) H  w    * Develops benchmarks to assist in the evaluation of YUY programming and outreach supports# q& J7 W# M$ [& f. V: q
    * Develops promotional materials such as posters, brochures, and displays to promote the youth group and mentoring programs8 V( v; }+ |* x6 g
    * Participates in the development of leadership training and educational programming at Camp fYrefly) z; [1 k0 v' B4 y
    * Supports University of Alberta campus organizations for sexual minority students and gay-straight student alliances in local high schools and communities, K7 O; t8 m/ d7 G
    * Develops a communications and advertising strategy targeting community agencies, youth groups/programs, and schools

Qualifications
! O  L% p, t( x0 V/ Y( n7 i" Y, G* @4 O  d$ i3 L' x' e
    * Bachelor's degree in education, social work, psychology, or a related professional discipline+ |2 q, U  |& [
    * Three to five years experience in community development with a particular emphasis on sexual minority youth4 y% j. M/ i$ m+ U
    * Knowledge in adolescent development, health and sex education, violence prevention,suicide intervention, alcohol and substance abuse, HIV and STI prevention and harm reduction strategies
8 w  r! m3 h, J0 N+ D; G0 x: H    * Experience in developing and providing youth-oriented programs3 Q$ h0 K4 i, l4 e4 e3 A+ H
    * Demonstrated effectiveness in working with the LGBTTQ community
' @0 _; o' i$ c* f    * Fundraising skills an asset
& t; e7 W% j5 P( x4 [    * Demonstrated experience in development of youth group programming, community outreach,volunteer management and training and conflict resolution skills5 l) X7 \2 _5 b9 N1 X
    * Outstanding group facilitation, training, and counselling skills
1 }! \, W3 }6 o' s- K    * Proven leadership, and strong team, and relationship building skills
# d3 Z' p* v- d0 {4 y    * Excellent communication (oral, written, and web-based), organizational and interpersonal skills2 D! o3 s6 a- W
    * Understanding of other languages and experiences working within Aboriginal and ethnocultural communities an asset
