1 }0 D; L, ~5 L3 x! QPeople outside of the Bird's Nest are all cheering at the endless spectacle of the colours in the sky.. e. w7 L. h1 h( J9 j" k- k

The Chinese believe loud noises scare away evil spirits and may this be a wonderful bang to 17 days of the Games.

While most Beijing residents are at home watching the biggest international event happen on television, many others are gathered in public areas, mostly where there are giant screens to catch the party atmosphere.

Others are probably standing around waiting for the end of the ceremony to watch the fireworks that will be set off around the city -- watching millions of RMB blown up in the sky in a party to welcome the world. |
