I heard this saying last night in a movie, when one said she had something important to tell the other woman, about her husband's cheating on her. The other woman said this sentence. I  thought she meant to mean that she is so eager to know.

Check the dictionary and it means:

Online Dicationary explains as follows:

I learned this on the cartoon The Simpson's, when Bart faked the sickness to avoid another failuer in his Grade 4 tests that would qualify him for moving foward to Grade 5.
