. D9 m1 g; Q; y9 D% T5 g: @ * Provides routine technical and administrative support for sample preparations and mineral separation for isotopic analysis
# X: B- \# W) W7 H * Conducts mineral separation, sample imaging, grant mount preparation, sample weighing and iron exchange chromatography
+ W8 l. [% F' h+ e( n * Provides training to graduate students, visiting scientists on preparation techniques
& ]+ C5 k8 p( C5 L* ^7 B5 L * Compiles analytical data using standard office software such as Excel, Word and Corel for use by the PI or client v% j9 r" a7 v' I: e4 t7 }
* Performs routine maintenance on equipment and lab husbandry
( l/ y8 S4 Q2 V5 ~: [' i * Orders supplies, maintains lab records, maintain WHMIS records and compliance labeling, maintains lab inventory and safe disposal of chemicals

* Provides administrative support by maintaining records, (usage and expenses) and prepares invoices
' N5 o6 q, k3 m* E) ~" j * Assists with laser ablation analyses on the multi-collector inductively coupled plasma mass spectrometer (ICPMS)

0 @! v1 v) r/ D. ^' m * Post Secondary diploma in laboratory technology, Chemistry or Earth Sciences; BSc in Geology or Chemistry preferred
! J* F+ I9 f s% k4 a& C& c * 1-2 years experience working in a research environment (analytical chemistry lab or geochemical lab)

* A thorough knowledge of lab safety protocols and WHMIS procedures
