* Provides routine technical and administrative support for sample preparations and mineral separation for isotopic analysis, o. t0 `: d" F9 M' N
* Conducts mineral separation, sample imaging, grant mount preparation, sample weighing and iron exchange chromatography& |7 t1 D9 A$ E; D
* Provides training to graduate students, visiting scientists on preparation techniques5 v) y# p4 ~* j
* Compiles analytical data using standard office software such as Excel, Word and Corel for use by the PI or client+ y) m9 l- U) j+ W1 u) J! N: Y1 @
* Performs routine maintenance on equipment and lab husbandry
+ `# P7 ?0 P" k& A) A * Orders supplies, maintains lab records, maintain WHMIS records and compliance labeling, maintains lab inventory and safe disposal of chemicals
+ d8 @/ p# b) n4 }7 L( B3 G- W * Provides safety training to students, staff and visitors using the lab

* Assists with laser ablation analyses on the multi-collector inductively coupled plasma mass spectrometer (ICPMS)

* Post Secondary diploma in laboratory technology, Chemistry or Earth Sciences; BSc in Geology or Chemistry preferred* g/ v& h& b. \. \2 N
* 1-2 years experience working in a research environment (analytical chemistry lab or geochemical lab)5 R# ?9 O' D5 b0 R/ j
* Computer proficiency using MS Office applications and Corel
+ q; ]' D- i l5 }$ q! _& v * A thorough knowledge of lab safety protocols and WHMIS procedures
