/ c) H4 t2 n8 C9 n * Provides routine technical and administrative support for sample preparations and mineral separation for isotopic analysis5 N$ W+ E7 W2 q+ g' G0 z% d$ N
* Conducts mineral separation, sample imaging, grant mount preparation, sample weighing and iron exchange chromatography) a0 C6 S& d+ Q* }9 |$ |
* Provides training to graduate students, visiting scientists on preparation techniques8 J. V2 Y9 F% [ F+ |0 g0 [
* Compiles analytical data using standard office software such as Excel, Word and Corel for use by the PI or client; ]$ }4 j+ F' g8 x2 E
* Performs routine maintenance on equipment and lab husbandry
9 p+ [) d( ?" n * Orders supplies, maintains lab records, maintain WHMIS records and compliance labeling, maintains lab inventory and safe disposal of chemicals: o: Y, m7 \2 q3 L" I: Y
* Provides safety training to students, staff and visitors using the lab

* Assists with laser ablation analyses on the multi-collector inductively coupled plasma mass spectrometer (ICPMS)7 ] y: h) Q# V$ Q

Qualifications8 j# l0 E4 g) y" n3 T8 d
4 i' U9 V( Z, p * Post Secondary diploma in laboratory technology, Chemistry or Earth Sciences; BSc in Geology or Chemistry preferred( }7 Z, ]3 c: A2 M* d/ O) E
* 1-2 years experience working in a research environment (analytical chemistry lab or geochemical lab)
# a9 p# b/ y" D9 E5 e * Computer proficiency using MS Office applications and Corel- \6 f$ n7 f6 m$ ~1 H# M+ ^6 K( x; U
* A thorough knowledge of lab safety protocols and WHMIS procedures
