; N8 J9 {) y2 r V( D1. Chemical list and Material Safety Data Sheets (MSDS’s)
5 [8 e% x! D0 C• help complete up-to-date chemical lists for all laboratories within the department
+ H W: D2 B2 \• collect and obtain MSDS’s for all chemicals
( ~. d3 q4 g0 h' G5 A/ d• make sure all chemicals are properly labelled and stored
1 i2 B( {3 p: v2 V8 H• proper disposal of all unwanted chemicals
; E+ J$ z7 L2 H! t6 l& h6 s; U• finalize chemical lists and then duplicate and label all MSDS’s for distribution to OH&S for the MSDS on line system.# r3 R; i% z! u% ~

2. Standard Operation Procedures (SOP’s) and Hazard Assessments (HA’s)
. q# A7 l2 ^2 |4 B• help update the department SOP’s and HA’s. This will include verification of existing SOP’s and HA’s and tracking any that are needed.

3. Tracking System
- X0 y! L% g q! c0 Z• help develop a tracking system for adding or removal of chemicals as well as continual updating and verification of SOP’s and HA’s

4 S; x1 n9 G2 l7 FCandidates should be inquisitive, thorough, and willing to learn. Some education and/or experience in safety is preferred. Strong communication and interpersonal skills and the ability to work independently as well as in a team environment are required. : @( [7 I1 P( s3 Q! r
/ \4 d+ K% Q, P* B+ BThis is a two-month summer position, preferably commencing the middle of June, which will pay an hourly wage commensurate with education and experience. Final candidates will be asked to undergo a security screening. h) L I. H) k: _) d* {$ L0 e X& b
