% J! H( U3 E2 z% rThis is a clinic conducted by Badminton Alberta to train people as badminton officials. People who play badminton at a recreational, club, or higher level are ideal candidates for
* Q: F$ V- \9 P! zbecoming badminton officials. The clinic consists of two parts. The first part consists of classroom training. This is followed by on-court practice during which trainees will have a chance to put their classroom learning to on-court practice. Trainees will also observe how certified badminton officials officiate matches and learn from them.) t% K/ w6 g$ x3 M2 Y3 W" V8 q

Trainees who completed the theory and on-court practice at the training clinic can decide when they are ready to attempt a closed book exam conducted by the Badminton Officials
% t' e6 D! w' Z: hof Alberta Association. Upon passing the exam, the trainee is eligible to be certified as a badminton official at the regional level and will be given opportunities to work with different- B2 i" U1 r# R: B0 t6 e
certified badminton officials to practice their officiating skills over a period of time at different badminton events.! c2 N" [# h$ b/ |6 d

Certified regional badminton officials can move on to become certified officials at the provincial, national, and international level. |
