. a1 Z1 ^ n% A, P, O$ iPosition Summary: Within the broad guidelines of Immigrant Settlement Program (ISP) funded by Citizenship and Immigration Canada, and Alberta Employment, Immigration & Industry, the community development worker coordinates workshops seminars and activities. This individual reports to the ISP program manager and provides support to all members of the ISP team.

- community development, liaison with mainstream agencies to provide services for Chinese community/ Q; p3 R& P1 z. x* L5 ]
- workshops, seminars, activities that give Chinese population access to mainstream services# @* `; C" m$ ], E5 {
- fulfill needs that are not met in Chinese community in terms of social services7 i# y# ?3 ?) M- C- _
- develop good working relationships with mainstream and ethnic agencies

- coordinate and send out quarterly newsletter to members

- assist in special events coordinating: Open House, AGM, Volunteer Appreciation, etc.) L. K1 L$ M4 C0 }0 D
- participate in ISP department and agency meetings/activities K7 z f! R/ d% @ @' o: U
- update ASSIST website

- participate in external committees/conferences/workshops related to immigrant services

- write quarterly and final reports for ISP( l: |( Y* R. v9 Q# n: @
- explore new ideas for ISP 4 I8 v. X" o0 x& l( O
- hold regular meetings with ISP team

- update membership database

- degree/diploma in social/human sciences with 1 year of relevant experience or equivalent of experience and education # P6 ?6 h) y7 j5 @3 d0 _8 n
- good oral and written Chinese and English skills

! w, s3 [9 ^& Q# G- ability to coordinate workshops and seminars
