Hours of work: 35 hours per week

Position Summary: Within the broad guidelines of Immigrant Settlement Program (ISP) funded by Citizenship and Immigration Canada, and Alberta Employment, Immigration & Industry, the community development worker coordinates workshops seminars and activities. This individual reports to the ISP program manager and provides support to all members of the ISP team.

- community development, liaison with mainstream agencies to provide services for Chinese community" r- y. e# Q* E9 o9 _+ w5 a
- workshops, seminars, activities that give Chinese population access to mainstream services4 L+ z. Y( U6 E0 Y* U3 m. ^# i! ^
- fulfill needs that are not met in Chinese community in terms of social services: \) S) W `. r
- develop good working relationships with mainstream and ethnic agencies! {7 l' z* V/ T& ~6 G+ ^% G
- coordinate good will activities
& d1 E! A8 j# [$ C" v" n* q- coordinate and send out quarterly newsletter to members

- demonstrate team spirit in achieving vision and objectives of Centre

, p+ n6 a! \; H* [" c- write quarterly and final reports for ISP

Qualifications
" [. ^, H2 q# S4 G# y$ d. w# i- degree/diploma in social/human sciences with 1 year of relevant experience or equivalent of experience and education % Y b8 g7 K) Z. o: U8 H7 s3 x
- good oral and written Chinese and English skills/ v% C* _) W- |! f
- experience in community work and immigrant services$ L# v8 A$ G. V1 y; D
- ability to coordinate workshops and seminars9 n9 C- s+ r# {) b2 d
- leadership skills
+ i- m4 }1 U! n( E* M D$ L. X J- exceptional communication, interpersonal skills
