8 s6 d# b/ B' o5 RPosition Summary: Within the broad guidelines of Immigrant Settlement Program (ISP) funded by Citizenship and Immigration Canada, and Alberta Employment, Immigration & Industry, the community development worker coordinates workshops seminars and activities. This individual reports to the ISP program manager and provides support to all members of the ISP team. $ ~: @: R. S" v& ?( p. s/ e

- community development, liaison with mainstream agencies to provide services for Chinese community6 d2 z1 t8 W3 y" B6 G; \2 K
- workshops, seminars, activities that give Chinese population access to mainstream services
h+ R* m4 t( ?3 p6 W- o: y/ ]- fulfill needs that are not met in Chinese community in terms of social services

- submit information for community news

- demonstrate team spirit in achieving vision and objectives of Centre2 Y4 R( D1 l; A7 h5 N# u( H
- participate in external committees/conferences/workshops related to immigrant services5 P& o; A, I, y' i3 r) h% G9 i n
- assist in writing proposal for ISP

Qualifications
6 | j6 V! n3 e6 E& g8 q; ~% g8 z* k- degree/diploma in social/human sciences with 1 year of relevant experience or equivalent of experience and education & @- I2 Y' ?& J; Y/ T
- good oral and written Chinese and English skills+ D* A9 B+ ^& w$ q, T
- experience in community work and immigrant services# ~/ \# B- ] `* y
- ability to coordinate workshops and seminars2 G& d# @, ]: i$ l9 @. S: P
- leadership skills
