L( R# [: f2 IPosition Summary: Within the broad guidelines of Immigrant Settlement Program (ISP) funded by Citizenship and Immigration Canada, and Alberta Employment, Immigration & Industry, the community development worker coordinates workshops seminars and activities. This individual reports to the ISP program manager and provides support to all members of the ISP team.

- community development, liaison with mainstream agencies to provide services for Chinese community& d2 C- e) R: l3 u/ C) d
- workshops, seminars, activities that give Chinese population access to mainstream services1 U! {7 y* `+ e8 N, ^, d, d
- fulfill needs that are not met in Chinese community in terms of social services

- coordinate good will activities

- participate in ISP department and agency meetings/activities

- assist in writing proposal for ISP

- explore new ideas for ISP

- assist with Centre’s other activities or programs as prescribed from time to time0 G$ \: G, B! v- X; Z4 R7 t; x

- work flexible hours (including evenings, weekends as required)

' a( D! j3 M: i5 _8 g4 L2 Y3 N- degree/diploma in social/human sciences with 1 year of relevant experience or equivalent of experience and education 2 |, x" W. i- j+ z# Y- y5 l: U
- good oral and written Chinese and English skills8 L( _+ X, ]; g. q1 q4 z! @
- experience in community work and immigrant services
