Position Title: Volunteer Coordinator

- submit information for community news ( v7 F9 W' Y# L
- provide volunteers to update membership database% c2 G: l+ F- Y7 J, Z! ^# L0 k
- recruiting, performing security and reference checks, providing orientation, supervising, referring and placing volunteers2 V, Q) L N0 z Z: F9 g
- train volunteers for ISP and provide duties
( S5 F2 t, w5 t; Q- train volunteers for Centre and provide duties- S( g* l/ X# z! e, O
- provide volunteers for various programs & v& R+ `# v w" x, \
- coordinate, update Volunteer Manual% p& `* e! L( v4 H
- planning and coordinating Volunteer Appreciation
/ K4 |* a5 T8 y" A5 e9 h8 V- participate in ISP department and agency meetings/activities1 S8 v- u/ k: k: \* j
- participate in external committees/conferences/workshops related to volunteer services* m2 a$ _* I7 r1 x
- assist in writing ISP proposals and reports9 Z5 E- ]- o7 q, O" J
- provide volunteers for Centre activities as needed) f* C1 _! A9 |! g( [! M4 |
- assist with Centre’s other activities or programs as needed* d$ l# x6 j5 ~6 q4 o( p1 }$ I
- work flexible hours (including evenings, weekends as required)
" Y* z" s @% ]. i9 ]* S- promoting volunteerism through various media including the 3 main Chinese newspapers, Chinese radio station and the Chinese television, Fairchild TV, brochures, pamphlets, booth displays, special events 5 {) m5 f7 R; R f) V
- development and distribution of a volunteer manual . ~# d0 f0 Q O5 D
- planning and implementing training sessions for volunteers ; F* c% C; |# d
- planning and implementing training sessions for staff that work with volunteers
3 K: d$ v N5 o6 h- c ]& d- consulting and reporting to the Advisory Committee on a regular basis

- demonstrate team spirit in achieving vision and objectives of Centre& H. o# S. k7 m; v ?9 V
+ c# a; k! H3 G/ W+ K7 SQualifications
. G, A- ^4 d$ ?5 {3 z+ c- degree or diploma in Social Work, Sociology, Community Services, Human Services or related experience and education
( J- ?$ N7 u1 c7 Z1 w- good oral and written Chinese and English skills
* ^6 x! ]# J+ U$ ], f- experience in volunteer coordinating and immigrant services" G5 ~9 e# u; b9 m9 y7 P
- leadership skills, Y' \6 Q1 n8 {, i- ^2 y/ i
- management and supervision skills
" c7 f8 l$ [+ T7 Z+ _7 M- exceptional communication, interpersonal skills+ F% X2 }/ v2 K! j. @
