Really a heart-stirring news for me! I own you guys a beer.
I still got some questions, if you are convenient.
1.can I apply for the courses in USA directly after I got PR of canada?
2.how about the tuition fees? I have to afford it by myself? any other way to get loan or scholarship?
3.after take the courses , need I take the license test in US or CA?
4.yes I have Medical background, then which kind of courses should I apply for? do you have any US school recommendation?

I graduated from Jiangxi medical University clinical medicine bachelor degree. no problem to ba a male nurse. or paramedic. if I got enough time and money to survive my faimilly, I think male nurse is more easy to get a offer ,right?

Great. I'll tell you that the most important part of the process is about your transcript. If your average score is around 85, then you will be fine to apply. I recommend you to look at your transcript and do something to improve it. And you can do some research by google: accelerate nursing program, or second degree nursing program, and you will find the school website and look for the details. Let me know if you have further questions.

In fact, I was clear 4 years ago. I don't know why I was infected by HBV virus. Maybe because I am working in hospital and patients tranmitted the disease to me.Now I plan to immigrant to Canada. It seems that my major is promising to help me get a job. But I am not sure if the condition like that will keep me from finding a job in hospital of Canada. I feel bewildered and upset. Please be kind to do me this favor! Thank you again!

在另外一个论坛上看到推荐豆腐姐姐，想咨询一些关于学预防医学\公共卫生的背景到加拿大以后是怎么找相关的工作的？
我在国内有流行病学的硕士，加拿大估计不承认我的学位吧。是不是还得从新读个学位？另外读了书以后，一般能找到什么样的工作呢？待遇如何呢？

你在国内的流行病学硕士，加拿大也不会说不承认，但是很难找到相关工作。因为中国和加拿大的HEALTH CARE SYSTEM是绝对不同的。如果你有统计相关工作经验，也许会好些。
如果你想来EDMONTON，我建议你在capital health, alberta health and wellness, alberta cancer board的相关网站上找找工作信息，递下简历试试，看看行情怎么样。没准就有面试了，就成功了。实在不行，再考虑重读书吧。
如果重新读书，你可以选HEALTH TECHNOLOGY ASSESSMENT这个专业申请，这个专业很缺人。你没有临床医生背景，所以临床流行病你申请不了，只能申请流行病，但你都有个硕士了，怕申请的时候，人家说不用重复学习，而拒了你。剩下的GLOBE HEALTH，HEALTH POLICY MANAGEMENT都是洋人的天下，COMMUNICATION是重中之重，外国人要申请得考GRE。

谢谢豆腐姐姐的回复。我现在其实才刚刚递材料，呵呵，还不知道何年何月能过去呢。就是想先打听一下我们这种专业的人能否在那边找到相关的工作。
BTW，请教豆腐姐姐，health technology assessment出来后都去什么部门工作啊？主要做什么呢？研究？谢谢！

HTA主要是政府的DECISION MAKER需要一种信息，对新的治疗方法，新技术，新设备的系统评估（主要是EFFICACY & SAFETY, 有时是EFFECTIVENESS），然后来参考决定是不是要FUNDING，是不是要推广，是不是要取消。主要工作是收集资料然后用SYSTEM REVIEW的方法，写出HTA报告，交上去就行了。UA的HTA是世界上领先的，老师都是大拿，同时兼职政府职位的。听老师说现在这行很缺人。老师很NICE,我们晚上上课，居然给准备吃的，都是正餐的那种。
就职有政府机构，有为政府提供服务的半政府机构，还有些私人机构，和保险公司。各省重视程度不一致，ONTARIO很重视，ALBERTA也行，BC就不太重视，经济不好时可能裁员。我仅是一知半解，如果想详细了解，请网上查询，关键词HTA.

我所学的临床流行病学,其中的学生都有临床医生的背景.
而流行病学专业,则什么背景都有.我没看到过明确规定,只看到现象了.
临床流行病是针对医院的病人进行科研
流行病是针对社区普通人进行科研

Unfortunately, it's prohibited. Even you have got the residency position, if you have a HBV positive, you are excluded.

From 2005, if you have HBV antigen positive, even everything else is negative, which means you have the immunity and no infectivity, you are not welcomed for blood donation.
