EDMONTON — Edmonton’s Capital Health Region plans to follow its Calgary counterpart in banning employees from using their cellphones while driving on the job. 5 U4 ~5 N' c. s) L

7 K1 v- |: ?: m7 X6 l5 mRecently, the Calgary Health Region announced the program in an effort to improve safety behind the wheel. Bruce Conway, a spokesman for the Calgary Health Region, said the decision will affect about 25,000 employees beginning in the new year. 3 b/ i3 n6 L2 H2 C . T* \( z! q( U/ B5 ^ _- y( qEmployees will be encouraged to pull over for phone calls to protect themselves and others on the road. Conway admitted that enforcement of the new policy will rely on the honour system.
